from my department undergrads forum. this person is so fucking correct. at least when i was in the upstairs allen labs for embedded systems i could sit near a window. for robotics i’m in the literal fucking basement. someone put up a flyer in the basement advertising their discord for ‘allen center dungeon enthusiasts’ 

and also it’s insanely hot for no reason. there was a thread in the undergrads board a month ago like ‘hey why are the labs so hot’ and someone said it was a facilities issue they were working on fixing. this was a month ago

My party-friend reached out to me few days ago and I'm going to meet him on Thursday. I'm a little bit scared because last we saw each other in December... Before w3!ght l0ss. I'm afraid of his comments on my b0dy and explaining why I didn't talk to him (and his friends) and also I'm afraid of falling back into the party-loop... I really don't want to do this again. Anyway I went for a short walk today, it was so hot and I sw34t like a p!g. And it's only 25 degrees celcius (77*F) out there. I w0re sh0rts but they're too b!g... Like, really b!g that they don't look good... I really need new clothes but I also need to save money for (potential) moving out of this country (again). Why I can't find "my" place on earth? I need to learn another language, but why, when I'm not good at any others I already know (even my native lol)?

Mój imprezowy-znajomy odezwał się do mnie kilka dni temu i mam się z nim spotkać w czwartek. Trochę się boję ostatni raz widzieliśmy się w grudniu... Przed sch0dni3ciem. Boję się jego komentarzy na temat mojego ci4ł4 i tłumaczenia dlaczego się nie do niego nie odzywałam (i jego znajomych też) i też boję się że znowu wpadnę w imprezowe-koło... Naprawdę nie chcę znowu tego robić. W każdym razie poszłam dzisiaj na krótki spacer, było tak gorąco i sp0cił4m się jak św!ni4. A jest tylko 25 stopni celsjusza (77*F). Nałożyłam sh0rty ale są za duż3... Takie, bardzo duż3 że nie wyglądają dobrze... Naprawdę potrzebuję nowych ciuchów ale muszę oszczędzać pieniądze na (potencjalną) wyprowadzkę z tego kraju (znowu). Dlaczego nie mogę znaleźć "swojego" miejsca na ziemi? Muszę nauczyć się kolejnego języka, ale czemu, kiedy nie jestem dobra w żadnym z tych co już umiem (nawet ojczystym lol)?

lawyer maxiel you say!

“Eat up champ.”

Max blinks as his laptop shuts gently in front of him, replaced by a hotdog on top of two napkins. He follows the hand-and-arm up to see Daniel, leaning his hip against the desk and grinning down at him.

“Wha—“ he shakes his head, squeezing his eyes shut hard against the dark spots in the corners from too much screen time, “what? What are you doing here?”

The library was still, and abandoned apart from him, and one other poor paralegal in the corner. The lights were dimmed low and when he craned his head, he could see that said paralegal was in fact passed out on top of a pile of books, snoring gently. 

“I’m diligently preparing for my cases, obviously!” Daniel acts mock offended as he slips into the chair opposite Max, taking a big bite out of his own matching hotdog. He points at the one in front of Max and makes an impatient movement with his hand, talking around the sides of his mouthful, “eat it. Really. As soon as it cools down it loses all its charm.”

Truthfully, the hotdog feels like the best thing Max has eaten all day— mainly because he’s been surviving on the work vending machine granola bars and sugarfree redbulls. He devours it so quickly he can feel chunks of it travelling down his throat into his chest; he gulps down water out of a crinkling plastic bottle to get through it. 

“So how’s it going? Your case, I mean,” Daniel asks, nodding towards the stack of papers and his laptop.

Max groans in answer and covers his face with his hands. He presses the tips of his fingers into the hollow between his eye and nose, sliding his hands down his cheeks. It’s not even his case, not really. He was only brought on to help because he’d been sitting in his associates cubicle at just the wrong time. 

“Horrible,” he says matter-of-factly, “I’m trying to find a loophole which is, of course, already difficult, but this whole contract sounds like it was written by someone who had read law-for-dummies. It’s terrible, Daniel!”

Daniel honk laughs, tipping back in his chair and shaking his head— he somehow looks good even while his curls are in disarray and there are deep bags creasing the soft skin under his eyes. No decent lawyer looks well rested.

“Law for dummies,” he repeats, kicks Max under the table, “god. Alright. What are we looking for then?”

“We?” Max parrots, dumbly.

“Yes we,” Daniel says, “tell me what to look for so we can get you out of here before you get permanently stuck to that chair.”

think: suits but maxiel lol someone prompted me for a lawyer headcanons au a while ago and it rlly gripped me ngl! but like max as a paralegal-studying-to-be-a-lawyer and daniel on the partner track... office romance... late night case studies... court dramas...!

1× whole sugar free nick's chocolate protein wafer bar for breakfast (198kcal)

1× redbull sugarfree apricot strawberry energy drink (120kcal) (didn't know this had so many calories so i won't be drinking this again as much)

diet coke + water

all in all = 318kcal today. had i known the redbull to have that many calories i wouldn't have had it. next time i'll drink monster ultra white instead. gonna go for a powerwalk later for at least an hour to burn this off :) 🩷

edit: walked off approx 200 kcal so 318-200=180 kcal for today!
