It was around 12:30AM, way past curfew, when you heard a slight knocking coming from the door of the cabin you had stayed in. Getting down from your bunk, you felt a small smile poke onto your lips as you started to recognise the tall shadow behind the curtains of your door.
"Good evening, Mr. Soot," You whispered, leading yourself out of the cabin in order to not disturb your other cabin mates.
"Good evening, mind allowing me to take you for a walk?" He sticks his elbow out, offering me to take it, as he put on a posh accent. You took his arm, following him to whichever field he decided to take you to.
As you made it to the field, the stars start to shine brighter, especially without the lights of street lamps, city lights, or even the cabin lights around.
"You could murder me here." You stated plainly, causing him to snort as he patted the grass next to him.
"Sleep with one eye open," He winked, laying down as you lay next to him. You nudged him slightly, head resting on his bicep as he wrapped his arm around your shoulder.
You had begun to point out constellations, which he listened to. He never really believed in star signs, or how the moon affected the mood, but he liked to pretend, just for you.
He noticed how your voice started to slightly slur as you got more tired, eyes drooping and your arm no longer pointing upwards at the patterns.
"Wanna go back to the cabins?" He whispered, nudging you to keep you awake.
"Wanna stay here, 's nice," You mumbled, head tucked into his shoulder. He smiled holding you closer, but he knew you'd eventually get cold out here. Or eaten alive by mosquitos.
"Cmon, i'll get you back," He helped you up, letting you link onto his arm as he dropped you off at your cabin.
"No, please stay," You frowned, pulling on his arm to persuade him to cuddle with you in the bunk.
He thought for a moment, making you so sure he would say no.
"Fine, but if I get in trouble—"
"I'm taking the blame, blah blah," You teased, causing him to chuckle quietly and follow you to the bunk. You curled up against him, eyes closing as his warmth spread to you, as the goosebumps on your skin began to settle.
He kissed your forehead lightly, before pulling you closer and finally falling asleep himself, wrapped up in the arms of his lover.
