Happy birthday Teto! To celebrate, I’m excited to share that I took a page out of Miku’s book and I’ve been working on what I’m dubbing Project ROTOR!

A ポケモン and 重音テト crossover project featuring Kasane Teto as Pokemon Trainers themed around all 18 types!

Here on Tumblr, I’ll also be sharing details on the creative process of each piece below the read-more link, starting with this very post, check it out!

It’s time for the first installment of the Teto Trainer Trivia Territory!

With this first post, I wanted to mirror the original Project VOLTAGE announcement with the presence of a stage. At the time of making the original sketch, I had Bocchi the Rock! on the mind, which I’m sure some have noticed given the stage has been loosely modeled after STARRY as seen in the anime.

(There won't always be an accompanying image for these posts, but it felt relevant this time)

In terms of Pokemon selection, it felt like a no-brainer to include either Type:Null or Sylvally as the star for this announcement, given their status as a chimera created to mimic Arceus. Teto’s gender being chimera and her conception as a fake Vocaloid for April Fools? A match made in heaven. Choosing between both Pokemon also led me to the decision to include both, as well both UTAU and SynthV Teto, as a celebration of her history, new and old.

One last fun little detail of note, I based UTAU and SV Teto’s poses off of renders of SV and UTAU Teto respectively.

btw the reason theres been no updates lately is because ive been watching some of the seasons of the pokemon anime. i just caught up with Journeys but i also plan to watch the Alola season since i never did when it was running. im also playing through explorers of sky and watching a playthrough of Colosseum to get some ideas for devotion and dod. i have big plans i just need to blue print them out first

Mmmmmm.... I'm not too happy with it.

I was having a lot of trouble making his color pallet match SylVal's but then I made him too pastel and anything in between looked super washed out. Poor Vox, he'll never be a pastel boy. I'll definitely redo the coloring if I do make merch of them. Or I'll redo him as Jolteon hrmmm... Decisions decisions

Anyway, I made the rings into V shapes that kinda wrap around his ears and tail. He has his lil had and bow tie and I added a headset for a lil extra flair.

Now. The burning question and mon that I've been trying to design has yet to be answered. Espeon Vel or Glaceon Vel. Answers now

knuckles knows how to make hisuian pokéballs and amy knows how to make apriballs and together they are unstoppable. amy makes BANK making apriballs since they're so rare

tails has a ninetales he's had since it was a vulpix. obviously. he would also come upon an alolan vulpix and take that one in too. i think he'd like steel types, i can imagine him with a few lab helper magnemites around and a voltorb or two.

sonic has an affinity for pretty much every pokémon. they all really like him, and legendary pokémon can identify his connection with the chaos emeralds and treat him with respect, if not reverence depending on their level of legendary-ness. giratina likes shadow better though

shadow likes synthetic pokémon, having a sylvally made in the ark (as a type:null at the time) as his lifelong partner. he also likes the porygon line, although they're too colorful for him to take on as true companions. he attracts a lot of ghost type pokémon, and he treats them kindly. you never know if a ghost pokémon was someone who was loved dearly in life. i think he'd have a claydol too. maybe a yamask.

Minor pokémon scar and violent spoilers under the cut

So was anyone going to tell me that Pokémon Violent has a cannon-ass pokémon FUSION in the form of iron valiant or was I supposed to find that out for myself? And to clarify, I'm not talking a temporary, dragon ball type fusion like we got with kyrum and necrozma. I'm talking the type of fusion you see in ROM hacks and fan games where it's a permanent freaking thing you just have to accept.

Am I having an aneurysm right now what is happening? It's just there, this crazy in-between of Gardevoir and Gallade. Maybe it's not a fusion but just a really fucked up 3rd evolution of kirlia? And either way, why can't it psychic type?

I have so many questions and no answers- most infuriating is that my pokédex just says it looks like a thing from the violent book. Yeah I figured that part out, I'll just check Bulbapedia for the scarlet Dex. "It has some similarities to a mad scientist's invention covered in a paranormal magazine". Oh yeah that explains sooo much. And according to Bulbapedia there's no article mentioning in the library, so that is DOUBLE HELPFUL.

Ok, apparently it was supposed to be an ultimate psychic type but they fucked that up somehow. Well I guess the mad scientist couldn't be THAT smart considering they were trying to make a stupidly strong psychic type despite what happened to the last people who SUCCEEDED in doing that *cough* Mewtwo *cough*. Oh they even made it extra violent (fitting enough) like Mewtwo too. *Facepalm* Well now I want to know where Bulbapedia got THAT info, cause there isn't a book in Dedede academy and they don't have sources yet- FUN.

Also, apparently there's speculation on it being just a robot, but A- that is apparently the magazine entry and I'm half convinced those exist to tell us what they AREN'T, and B- if I was just a robot based off the ralts lines psychic abilities in particular, then I honestly don't know how it's even possible to screw that up. Like, to me it seems a lot more likely that it's a mix up fusion because everyone who played a fusion game got the order wrong at some point, and I just can't imagine how you could screw up an entirely artificial pokemon's type up so bad- ESPECIALLY when we already have 3 artificial pokemon that can actively change their types (Porygon, castform, and sylvally), 4 if you count ditto like all the hip theorists do, and genicect who can pretend to kinda-almost do that sometimes. So yeah, probably not just a robot.

Well pokémon lore has me pulling my hair out again and I have barely even touched the post game. I might update this post when I have more info, but don't count on it

This post is about nightmare headcanons I have for Gladion and Bede, as well as how they help each other with their nightmares (Note, I ship Bede and Gladion together, hence the theming of my blog). I'll first talk about Gladion, then Bede, then the two of them together. The rest is under the cut!

Gladion has nightmares pretty much every night. I feel like that's a pretty believable assumption.

Going off of my own version of him, the guy was forced to run away from home with no money, no home, and half a team of Pokemon, one of which is sylvally in its type: null variant.

He had to grow up under the "care" of Faba because his mother was so busy with work, causing Faba to abuse both him and Lillie (paralleling Lusamine in the games, basically).

And then he found out that Faba, his abuser, hypnotized Lillie and Lusamine into forgetting anything bad happened. And right after this horrifying revelation, he sees his mother taken away by an Ultra Beast at the fault of Faba opening an Ultra Wormhole.

because of this, he has a ton of nightmares ranging from memories of Faba being way to harsh when training Gladion's eevee/umbreon, sylvally getting hurt/dying/taken away, his mother getting possessed by the Ultra Beast and screaming "I hate you!" at the top of her lungs, Lillie getting hurt and feeling betrayed that Gladion left, and every terrible thing he must've witnessed in his (at least) year-long stay out on the streets of an unfamiliar region... Gladion clearly has WAY too much trauma and guilt for a teenager to handle at once.

Every night, without fail, he wakes up in a cold sweat. He's had so many nightmares that he doesn't usually jump up anymore. He just opens his eyes, realizes that it was just a dream, and tries his best to go to sleep despite his fear of another nightmare. It takes a long time for him to finally fall asleep because of that fear, causing him to develop insomnia

Occasionally, however, the nightmare is so terrifying that Gladion shoots up and goes into a panic attack. He doesn't do this as much anymore, but it still absolutely happens. He usually switches to being nonverbal during panic attacks, so others must remember to be calm and patient with him.

Bede's nightmares aren't too different. He also has frequent nightmares, though he has gotten less of them lately due to Opal actually caring for him like a parental figure should (unlike SOME rich flowers i know COUGH COUGH rose COUGH COUGH). He still gets them more frequently than any person should, let alone a teenager, but he's slowly healing.

Bede usually gets nightmares about abandonment or losing the people he loves. Rose usually has some role in these nightmares, whether he's the person abandoning him or some other force.

He'll also often get nightmares that Opal will abandon him and leave him to die in the Glimwood Tangle, along with his friends and other loved ones. Despite Rose being out of his life, Rose's damage to Bede's psyche is still very apparent, and it's something he has to consciously fight against every day.

He at least has Opal, as occasionally she'll sense him having a nightmare and go to comfort him. At first he finds it extremely embarrassing and is all pissy about her helping him, but she tut tut's and makes sure he's ok anyways. He slowly shifts from resenting it to actively being very thankful for it, as deep down, he's glad that she can be there.

Bede and Gladion both understand what its like to have nightmares a lot, so they make sure to comfort each other the best they can. All the walls that they've built up towards people fall down in order to make sure they're ok, as they know how terrifying and lonely it feels to not have someone there for you.

Once they grow a lot closer, they'll offer to hug the other if they need it. This is especially good for Gladion since he still gets extremely bad nightmares at times and needs someone to hold him for a bit in order to calm down.

They don't only start doing this once they fall for each other, they do this as friends without any romantic reasoning because they know how crucial support is when waking up from a nightmare. Of course, once they do fall for each other, they'll make sure to occasionally kiss the other on the cheek if they're ok with it and give plenty of snuggles. The important take-away is that they know how to help each other when the nightmares get bad.

Shortly after he turned 17, the Reborn region across the desert opened registrations and Kuro jumped on the opportunity to start his journey.

His journey would be off to an explosive start, dragging Kuro into the fight of his life. From clearing overgrown bioweapon forests to storming enemy bases filled with traps; making friends, enemies, and friends again, he was able to conquer the league to become Champion

Pokemon time :)

Del Sol -- Sunkern and Sunflora. He likes how weedy it looks and will always have one on his team :)

Colorado -- Skarmory or Sylvally, since she can relate to both of them

Del Sol can do a lot of things, usually whatever is helpful and convenient to the story at the time. He has a few weaknesses, like fire and the incredibly nebulous "magnetism", a parameter I don't care to delineate.

But: he can "plant" himself and propagate, spreading his consciousness anywhere there's enough sun and water for him to grow. He can absorb technology and incorporate that function into his own. He can seamlessly replicate and communicate with electronic devices-- hell, he was a security system as his primary function until Foxtrot yanked him.

He can also interface with organic beings but it's sort of parasitic in nature? Dude has an unidentified need to be in a group and it manifests poorly.

Oh yeah, he can also separate pieces of himself to operate independently and collect them at a later date to integrate what they learned with the whole. This can and will backfire spectacularly.

Just wanted to say that I love the attention you're paying to movesets here, it's such a pivotal aspect of the franchise but it never feels like writers give it the needed thought when it comes to stories that aren't entirely dedicated to writing tournaments and battles.

i have a disease that makes me overthink team builds and movesets in every single pokemon game i play, which is agonizing because i also want to use my favorites, but if i dont have a team with maximum type coverage and survivability i will actually die. this has bled over into me having pages open for type:null and absol's level-up movesets and tm-compatible lists in tabs right next to my doc and the lparchive thread im reading along with as i write

#battling is so crucial to pokemon especially because absol is such an impressive and offensive pokemon! #i want to give them plenty of chances to fight. i cant WAIT for the groudon boss fight im so excited #they are going to have so much difficulty god bless! #one of the reasons i made emmet an absol was BECAUSE it is such an inherently capable battler #it can cover for most of its weaknesses fairly well and sylvally can learn flash canon which helps with coverage #as well as sylvally's incredibly impressive general coverage given that it can learn at least one move in any given type #im So excited to get to the point where volo can use his ability. its the reason i started writing this... i cant waiy

WOO with all the doodles and shitposts I totally forgot about the eeVees chibis but better late than never! I think I was feeling pretty rough about screwing up the Vox one after 5 hours of work, but I came back in a way better mood and I think Velvette's my favorite one. I feel like the way I drew the eeVees over this stretch of a couple months is a pretty cool way to show how fast I've been changing as an artist. The colors are picked well, the shape language improved and the design elements are more consistent, too. (speaking of shape language, I somehow made SylVal look approachable?? And kind of dopey?? I'm so sorry TTuTT )

Anyway, back to Velvette! Initially, I planned to make her an Espeon, but here I used Glaceon's hat flappies to incorporate the colors of her hair. The diamond socks on her front paws are changed to be her gloves and I threw in a choker to balance out the purple distribution.

I really do want to make stickers or keychains of the eeVees cause I wanna carry around lil tiny Vees hehe. (Also cause, like, merch artist portfolio stuff sssshhhhh) But I'd definitely try to make them match how I drew Vel here and honestly I'd redo the Vox one altogether I am not proud of it 😭
