Treasury Announces Simpler Tax System Set to Help Savers

  - Government moves towards simplifying Help to Save - Action to be taken to help parents who haven’t claimed Child Benefit and may have missed out on credits for their State Pension - Government publishes 23 technical tax updates, many of which simplify and modernise the tax system   The Help to Save scheme - for working people on low incomes who are claiming certain benefits – could be made simpler by reforms to how its bonus is calculated, the length of time an account can be open for and eligibility requirements, all with the aim of enhancing long-term savings habits. Help to Save was launched in 2018 and allows certain people entitled to Working Tax Credit or receiving Universal Credit to get a bonus of 50p for every £1 they save. Accounts can be open for a maximum of four years and savers can put a maximum of £50 into their accounts every month. The government wants to encourage more people to open accounts, since the scheme began more than £255 million has been saved through it. These moves to simplify tax form part of 2023’s Tax Administration and Maintenance Day (TAMD), where 23 technical documents in total have been published.

We want to support savers and make sure the tax system provides them with the options they need to shore-up their finances, helping them through rainy days as well as helping them plan for the future. A simpler tax system will also help deliver on the Prime Minister’s priorities of creating economic growth and reducing our country’s debt.   The government also wants to address the fact that some parents who have not claimed Child Benefit could miss out on building their state pension. Those affected will in future be able to claim National Insurance credit retrospectively as ministers move to tackle this issue. When parents claim Child Benefit, they can also receive a National Insurance credit which helps them build their state pension. This is aimed at those who, due to caring responsibilities, are out of work or not earning enough to pay National Insurance, to ensure they are still able to do that. The Government wants to ensure that parents who have not claimed Child Benefit are not disadvantaged when they start claiming their State Pension and is announcing a resolution for affected parents. Parents do not need to take any action immediately. The government intends to legislate to allow eligible individuals to retrospectively claim National Insurance credit, and the next steps to be taken will be published in due course. TAMD is a regular event following the Budget which sets out updates needed to the tax system, allowing these measures to be analysed and discussed in detail by tax and industry experts. As announced at Spring Budget, this year’s TAMD is focused on tax simplification and modernisation, and tackling the tax gap. These changes deliver on the government’s commitment for a simpler tax system to help boost productivity and economic growth by reducing time and money wasted. Since the closure of the Office for Tax Simplification the government has committed to putting simplification at the heart of all tax policy making. If he kept you away from those men you'd keep him fed. That was your deal. He happily accepted but he didn't expect what would come next.

You weren't lying when you said you would keep him fed. Every night you were with him he ate a good hearty meal. Of course that didn't save you from Vash's flirting and wandering hands. You didn't deny him that though, you played into it quite enjoying the attention he was giving you. Even more so than the other people. While he would just play you up, talking about how hot you are and how you deserve someone strong and handsome like him, you one up him.

"Keep playing this tamd and you'll get burned." You warned him. Vash didn't listen though and he kept going and poking until the reaction he got was beyond something he was ready for. In a single stroke, the buttons of his coat had been entirely undone and his back was pressed against the wall. He shivered while you eyes him up, a devilish grin on your lips. Vash was so shocked that he didn't know what to do. He was stuck just staring back at you in shock.

You were like nothing he had ever felt before just your touch alone would light him on fire. When the time came for him to move to the next City he couldn't bring himself to leave you. Even after he left the city he camped outside for days debating whether or not he should go back in and get you. You found him yourself. he woke easily, your touch feeling foreign to him at first. Once he saw it was you he swooned. His hands reached up to cup your face while he spoke a mantra to revel in your beauty. Just like that you pulled him right back under your spell. Even with his brother and saving the world being important to him you suddenly jumped to the top of his list.

Vash is known to be a captain-save-a-hoe, so when you got into your first gunfight with him he kept you shielded behind him. You pushed past him and shit every single one of their weapons from their hands in a heartbeat. Seeing you could handle yourself just fine was even better for Vash. Not only were you attractive and more but you were a force to be reckoned with. Of course your abilities would never reach his to the fullest extent but you were close. He admired you for that.

When the girls found you traveling with him, Meryl tried to warn you of who he was and what he brought with him. You didn't listen, you already knew who he was to begin with. When you walked into this, you knew exactly what you were getting into. Even then you accepted him for who he was and even threatened Meryl in front of him. "This is an affront to his personality, don't you ever refer to him in that manner in front of me again or so help me god I'll hang you by your toes and drain the blood from your nose."

oughhh I had this whole thing written out and tumblr deleted it on me

so this is surrounding if sam/my had fused and they were the only ones retrieved, right? well, I think the hs crew would be SUPER confused when he wakes up, and it would take longer for them to find out what exactly was happening without canon henry to inform and calm sam down

The situation of where sam was able to attempt to stab joey wouldn't have happened, since c!bendy was the one responsible for leading him away from the infirmary as a distraction. So he would've woken up where he slept, though maybe there would be another stabbing attempt happening anyway, just in there instead. This one is hypothetical, but canon henry was the one to stop him originally, right? The other henry failed to act in time, so maybe without him, sam would be able to (non-lethally) stab joey. Would be much worse, and this what would possibly bring out the use of handcuffs, since the hs crew would not know what to do about sam without c!henry's assistance. Maybe they wouldn't go to that, but just an idea

The conversion about the dreams being real would then have to happen, and joey would have to start working on a solution for sam/my much sooner as a top priority

Now, there's no reason for joey to open the portal again, as sending sam back to his world would be super cruel. It'd probably flip flop between the hs and canon perspective (largely c!henry if we're being honest). The loop would've been restarted, and without sam there, the story would have to adjust to his lack of presence. Both henry and the ink demon would realize that the two had somehow escaped

Maybe with sam's persuading, and maybeee sammy's, joey would attempt to retrieve the rest of the canon crew. this one.....is not entirely unlikely, but I do have some doubt in it. Another possibility is c!joey intervening and opening the portal again, which could happen

the person who would most likely act as a support for sam/my would be hs!henry, even though the fic itself had proven that he wasn't the best at that. Susie would be too much of a sore spot for sam, Alice and boris could be a good form of comfort, but not to entirely lean on. bendy and joey are, well, bendy and joey

I think he'd have to learn and work around his confusion, and while it may take a bit, step up to the plate. in the original fic, he acted super panicky, and accidentally treated sammy like he was crazy and didn't help at all when calming him down. now, normally hs!henry is good at those things! the new situation would be harder on him, but a chance to grow. I would love to see that, actually

I'm not sure entirely what joey's solution for sam is. Maybe it's creating an ink-human form for him similar to c!henry, but it isn't something I can really go into since I don't know anything for sure

Its been awhile . . .

Hello everyone. 

Man, its been a hot minute, hasn’t it? I know I have not been active on here, life’s been a little crazy (and frankly a little depressing) but I do to want say that I have still been reading comments and kind words people have sent, and that I haven't forgotten about this blog or the community here. This little fandom still means a lot to me, even if I’ve been MIA in it for a bit.

In other news, and I’m sure the news you’re all interested in; my fanfic. What’s happening with it? Well, I’m sure you’ll be happy to know I haven’t given up on it or anything like that! In fact, I’ve been fighting with myself to resurrect my muse, and between life events and mental health, its been a struggle. But I think I’m finally starting to kick this dead horse back to life. I’m taking it day by day, slowly but surely, so I don’t burn myself out again. And I’m getting there.

The woman had told her a little about what she did, and so had Alice, and she couldn't help her interest in the subject. She’d always liked singing. Some tiny part of her was a little jealous she couldn’t go down to see it all for herself, but she reasoned she could always explore when there weren’t so many people.

For a brief second, Susie glanced towards the window and caught Al’s eye, and she could just make out the wink the woman sent her way before carrying on like nothing at all.

That’s when other shapes entered her line of sight, catching Susie halfway up the lot. One Al could tell straightaway was Thomas, perking up as she watched him give Susie a cordial nod. Then a secondary figure appeared beside him, trotting up to the other woman with an excited spring in her step. Al could make out black hair pulled up into a loose bun, a flowery dress splashed with color, and the flash of a smile as the other woman called out to Susie, who had stopped and was returning the greeting with a smile of her own. 

Al found herself leaning over a little more, curious. She can’t see much else, nevermind hear anything they’re saying, but her head tilted only further as she tried to make out more of the situation.

That was when Susie seemed to notice her, just making out the panic on the woman’s face when she saw Al’s admittedly more precarious position. The woman suddenly threw her arms around the girl she was talking with, talking animatedly, all while looking pointedly Al’s way and sharply knocking one hand to the left, a clear motion of ‘get back in’ if Al’s ever seen one. She probably should lean back before someone spotted her, not like she’d get anything more by doing this.

The other woman, after prying herself free, suddenly turned around, brow pinched with confusion, blue eyes reminiscent of a darkening sky before a storm crossing Al’s own, and-
