Josh Brolin regretted filming the scene in which Thanos kills Loki

In a July 2018 interview with USA Today, John Brolin identified the Infinity War scene in which Thanos brutally kills Loki as the scene he regretted filming the most, because of what it meant to the actor behind the god of mischief, Tom Hiddleston. “He had been with that character for so long,” Brolin said. “And he was so lauded for doing it. So choking him out wasn’t the most fun thing I had ever done.”

While Brolin found no pleasure in effectively taking one of Hiddleston’s most popular roles away, he did find pleasure in the backlash it (and similar actions) have caused. “On Instagram people are saying things like ‘I hate you.’ That’s fantastic. I’m, like, the one guy who smiles when he sees that. It’s like, ‘It worked.’” Brolin revealed in the same interview that he also took pleasure in a different aspect of the very same scene: how he beat the Hulk in a one-on-one fistfight was ultimately satisfying. “I love that Thanos uses a knee. That was great,” Brolin said.

The irony, of course, is that Loki appears to be doing fine after what seemed like a definitive death scene: the Loki series is slated to debut on Disney+ on June 11, 2021 and is set after the character’s apparent demise in Infinity War, while the Hulk seems to be permanently crippled after undoing Thanos’ snap in Endgame and seemingly has nothing in the works.

Hi. I'm at work rn -bookstore- and just shelved a book of letters about max security prison. Out of curiosity, I opened it up, and immediately thought of Loki and Aaravos.

It's called "In the Belly of the Beast" by Jack Henry Abbott. This? Is not the worst of it, and I only glanced through it.

#well yeah and it’s not like it’s just a physical pain thing you’ve got to account for psychological/mental/emotional harm too #like... we know with the characters it’s fiction #but a lot of people go “’oh Loki was only tortured a year’ and ‘oh 1 year of isolation in prison only??’ #and aaravos has been stuck presumably for centuries #sometimes people go by how the characters act fine afterwards and some go by saying th here immortal so time is less lengthy #but #on the other hand #lots of angst potential #not me hoping you take this ‘research’ into acccount for the Lokivos fic 👀👀👀 #I bet falling through space isn’t a very unclaustrophobic comfortable experience #there’s a reason the audience gets annoyed when trauma is skimmed over #yeah you need the story to go on but don’t skip over something that’s bound to be there #TBKOD #TheBadKindOfDeath
