I love Obi-Wan's confession from but a number: "“It was about me!” his master finally spits out, dropping his hands to Anakin’s chest and pushing him back against the pillow forcefully. “Alright? They were—we’d been talking about what I found attractive in a partner, and Cody—knew, so I—panicked, and I said the first thing I could think of, that I only slept with people older than me—and then you left [...], can you talk more about it? :D

(from this dvd commentary ask game three months ago im sorry, but basically people sent me passages from my fics for me to give commentary on like what i wanted the passage to do, what the moment means for the fic, what's going on in the characters' heads, why i wrote it, etc etc)

this is from but a number!! like you said, it's obi-wan's confession to anakin about the lead up to why they woke up as different ages (anakin aged sixteen years, obi-wan de-aged sixteen years) --- since the story is told from anakin's pov, and a character's pov is always rather limited to their own eyes and tainted by their feelings, we see a lot of anakin thinking and realizing that he wished this to happen because he wished to the Force to make him older than obi-wan so obi-wan could love him back........but i wanted to include obi-wan's truth here at the end of the fic, what anakin didn't realize then:

firstly, obi-wan's confession that he had wished at the same time for something along these lines to happen. and second, that the whole premise of the fic (and anakin's wish) is a lie. obi-wan definitely is attracted to people younger than him---or, at least, one person younger than him, and he was scared in the moment that anakin would find out that he's his type and think he's gross or something

i love it when a non narrator's lie comes out and has huge impacts on the story while completely blindsiding the actual narrator, so i really didn't want it just to be anakin's wish that caused the temporary change, but obi-wan's too!! also it's such a small lie on obi-wan's part that no one else cared about (all the clones make jokes about obi-wan having to fish for dates in an old folk's home basically), but of course anakin is devastated which was a completely unforeseen side-effect

(grown up on kid's tv show voice) but that can happen when you lie, kids!!

after a string of disappointing races, lewis hamilton, second in the championship standings by 19 points, qualified in P1 for the upcoming sprint race. after qualifying, hamilton was referred to the stewards for a technical infringement; the car’s drag reduction system's (DRS) opening slot was larger than permitted. he was later disqualified from qualifying, forcing him to start at the back of the grid for the sprint race the next day.

NOVEMBER 14TH, 2021, 16:30 (BRT):

at the sprint qualifying, hamilton stormed through the field, managing to go from P20 to P5 in just 24 laps. however, hamilton received a five-place grid penalty for exceeding his quota of internal combustion engines (ICE), thus starting the race in P10.

NOVEMBER 15TH 2021, 14:00 (BRT):

during the race, hamilton had a mega start, getting up to P6 before the first lap was even completed. by lap 18 out of 71 total, he was running P2, chasing max verstappen. by lap 44, after two rounds of pit stops, he was once again P2, closing in on the race leader.  on lap 48 he attempted to overtake verstappen, moving around the outside at turn 4 – but verstappen pushed him wide, off the track. the stewards deemed no investigation necessary. on lap 59, hamilton had DRS on the run up to turn 4. he made the move around the outside on the straight, claiming P1. ultimately, lewis hamilton won the race by 10.4 seconds, waving the brazilian flag, to the delight of the passionate fans on the interlagos grandstands.
