PROLOGUE! ── ˙ ̟ bring home the glory !!
𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲 :: how heavy is the weight of a legacy, and what would you do to protect it? to you, legacy means the formula one team bearing your family name. as a child, you eagerly tagged along with your mother to races, sharing laughs with the engineers and mechanics, and being lifted into the air in triumph after every win. yet as time passed, those moments became fewer and farther between, and before you knew it, the once-legendary team was now scraping by at the back of the pack. in your final visit with your grandfather before he passed away, you made a promise to him: you would drive for the team that he and your grandmother poured their blood, sweat, and tears into, and you would restore glory to the williams surname, whatever it takes.
𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫'𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞 :: new series!! so excited for this one. tell my your thoughts, and if you want to be added to a taglist <3

MOTORSPORT ARTICLE: WILLIAMS' LINE-UP FINALLY REVEALED.
In a groundbreaking move for both motorsport and gender equality, Williams Racing has announced the signing of Y/N Williams as one of their drivers for the 2024 Formula One season. With this move, Williams becomes the first female driver to secure a seat in Formula One in more than forty-five years, marking a significant milestone in the sport's history.
The decision to bring Y/N Williams on board comes on the heels of her remarkable performance in the Formula 2 championship in 2023. In only her second year competing in the series, Y/N clinched the championship title, showcasing her exceptional talent and determination on the track. Her impressive season saw her clinch multiple victories and podium finishes, solidifying her status as one of the most promising young drivers in the sport.
For Williams Racing, the decision to sign Y/N Williams represents a bold step towards revitalizing the team's fortunes on the track. Following a challenging season in 2023, marred by inconsistent performances and disappointing results, the team is eager to usher in a new era of success with fresh talent at the helm.
The announcement of Y/N Williams as a Williams Racing driver also comes with a reshuffling of the team's lineup. In an expected move, Logan Sargeant, who had been part of the team since the previous season, will step down from his role as a full-time driver. However, Sargeant will remain with the team in a new capacity, serving as a reserve and simulator driver, lending his experience and expertise to support the team's development efforts.
The news has sparked a flurry of reactions from fans and pundits alike. While many have hailed it as a historic moment for gender equality in motorsport, others have expressed skepticism, questioning whether swapping one rookie for another will indeed bring about the transformative change the team needs.
Some voices within the Formula One community have raised concerns about the pressure and scrutiny she may face as the first female driver in the sport in several years. Yet, amidst the debates and uncertainties, there remains a palpable sense of excitement and anticipation surrounding her debut season.
As the countdown to the 2024 Formula One season begins, all eyes will be on Y/N Williams as she prepares to make her mark on the world's most prestigious racing stage.

hi uh, i really enjoy your art and your sewing, I'm even subbed over on youtube, but I jsut wanna say thanks for being you. It's really cool to learn you're trans, and it's revitalizing my desire to get back into historic sewing. I didn't know if or how big the trans communityw as in the recreation sewing, but knowing we're out there in this community too is really assuring. I'm super excited to start working on patterns and styles I haven't been able to do before. Thank you for all you do!
Hello, thank you!! There are quite a lot of trans people who are into historical sewing! I can't think of very many here on tumblr - there's @rowzien who does lovely early 19th century stuff, and I'm sure plenty of trans costuming people will say "same hat!" in the comments of this post.
There are a lot more that I know of on instagram, so I'll just list a bunch off. (I pretty much never look at my instagram feed and don't remember the names of most of the people I follow, let alone their genders, so I likely missed some but ah well.) Some of these are more cosplay, larp, or vintage focused accounts, but there's some sort of sewing and/or costuming on all of them.
jonesyollie (friend who made the timesheet from the previous post!), bequeermakestuff, evilqueenbeecosplays (sadly there aren't many ladies in this post, but I'm sure there are more out there!), ora_lin (they sell patterns!), noodle.stitch, ashlgcostumes (they have a lot of youtube videos and a nice speaking voice), rose_prince_lee, qtcostumer, enby.vintage, kiyoteacups, transcending_time_costuming, slightly_teddy (he's also on tumblr but hasn't posted in ages), angryhistoryguy (he once said in a facebook comment that he has so many transmasc reenactor friends that they could make a Monstrous Regiment), woodsmokeandwords, and marlowelune (SUCH good historical/fantasy everyday clothes, agh! love their wardrobe and illustrations!).
Honourable mention to matthewpcarlsen and dario_princiotta, who haven't put pronouns in their bios and I don't want to speculate on anyone's gender, but it's some good gender juice either way. Matthew pairs a bushy moustache with perfectly fitted Victorian gowns and looks amazing in them, and Dario is really into tightlacing and weird sculptural corsetry.
This is, alas, not a particularly diverse list of people. Like the costuming community at large, it skews towards white and afab, but that does seem to be gradually improving over the years - I certainly see a lot more people of colour doing historical costuming now than I did a decade ago. (I've been into historical sewing since approximately 2010).
As your ask demonstrates, when people don't see themselves represented in a space they're more likely to avoid it/assume it's not for them, which is the entire reason I occasionally mention being trans in my posts!

Have you had any memorable adventures in 2023?
Pick the image that resonates with you the most. If you feel drawn to more than one image, embrace the diversity and embrace them all!
Pile 1
I see you embarking on a weekend getaway to the countryside. Packed with essentials like a map, snacks, and a camera to capture the beauty around, you set off on to your journey. While travelling along the winding country roads, You couldn't help but be amazed by the vast expanse of green fields and towering trees that stretched out before you. The air was so crisp and clean, a refreshing change from the pollution of the city. You happily sang along to your favorite songs on the phone.
Upon reaching the destination, a charming bed and breakfast nestled in the heart of the countryside, Greeted by the innkeeper's warm and welcoming nature. Settling into your cozy room with delighting floral curtains and the breathtaking view of rolling hills in the distance.
As you set out to hike along a nearby trail, ready to explore the unknown. The fragrance of wildflowers, and the cheerful birdsong accompanied you every step of the way. Pausing for a moment, you couldn't help but admire the crystal-clear and inviting waters of a babbling brook. Continuing your journey, you stumbled upon a hidden meadow, adorned with a riot of vibrant and colorful blooms.
As the sun gracefully descended, casting a stunning palette of pink and gold across the sky, You discovered a secluded spot to settle and contemplate. Surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of nature, you experienced a profound sense of peace and contentment. It was in that very moment that you realized the true value of slowing down, of immersing yourself in the simple pleasures that life has to offer.
As you walked back to the inn, your heart brimming with joy and your spirit revitalized. You realized that your time in the countryside had truly changed you for the better. As you fell asleep, listening to the soothing rustle of leaves outside the window, feeling thankful for the chance to temporarily escape into the peaceful arms of nature.
Pile 2
I catch sight of you taking a solo trip to a foreign land. You meticulously planned your journey, learned about local customs, and loaded your bags with necessities. With a mix of excitement and nervousness, you boarded the plane and set off to explore a new territory. As you arrived in the new country, you were immediately captivated by the vibrant colors, bustling streets, and the melodic chatter of an unfamiliar language.
With a sense of awe, you explored the lively city, indulging in exotic cuisine, immersing yourself in the local customs, and forming new friendships along the way. As you ventured into the countryside, You marveled at the awe-inspiring landscapes, from majestic mountains to tranquil lakes. You visited ancient places, and witnessed traditional ceremonies/cultures that left you in awe. Throughout your journey, You faced challenges and moments of uncertainty, but you confronted them with bravery and an open mind.
You learned to communicate through gestures and smiles, navigate unfamiliar streets, and embracing the unknown with curiosity. By the end of the trip, You not only discovered a new country but also found a newfound sense of independence, resilience, and appreciation for the world's diversity. As you boarded the plane back home, you carried cherished memories of a transformative adventure that had enriched your life beyond imagination.
Pile 3
You made a bold decision to explore a vibrant city for the very first time. Upon arrival, you was enveloped by the hustle and bustle of the urban landscape, with its sea of people, diverse cultures, and towering skyscrapers. You meandered through the bustling streets, admiring the array of faces, languages, and cultures that enveloped you. You strolled through lively markets, where the aroma of exotic spices wafted through the air and vendors beckoned to passersby. Visiting museums, art galleries, and historical landmarks, each providing a glimpse into the city's rich past and bright present.
Despite the constant commotion of the city, You managed to find moments of serenity in peaceful parks and tucked-away alleyways. Standing on a rooftop terrace, you marveled at the sunrise, the cityscape unfolding like a magnificent work of art. In that precise moment, filled with a profound sense of awe and curiosity, realizing the limitless possibilities that lay within the city's grasp.
With a ticket in hand, you stepped onto the train that would transport you back to your quaint hometown, reflecting back the memories of an extraordinary urban escapade. The city with its buzzing energy, organized chaos, and breathtaking beauty, leaving an everlasting impression. Being well aware of the time you spent exploring its streets and uncovering its mysteries that would forever hold a special place in your heart. As the train chugged away, gazing back at the city's skyline, with a smile adorning face, and a deep sense of gratitude resonating within for the unforgettable adventure you had just lived.

Picture 1
The wound was deep, wasn't it?
You've carried it for so long now clenching your jaw and curling your fists so it doesn't burst out of your chest.
A kind of sorrow that makes you stand under the shower in hopes it'll wash away.
Maybe this is tied to a memory, an event or a place. But the good news is, it's finally time to walk away.
Your next glow up includes leaving what was or could have been so you can seek what can be or what should be.
You're leaving behind the bitterness you've carried as well as the mindset that wouldn't waver from the notion of, "nothing ever goes right for me."
You're tired of throwing a pity party for yourself all together.
Your next journey is just as emotional and spiritual as it is physical in nature.
You'll reach your destination in silence.
The clutter has to be cut out first be it the voices of people that have become noise or content on social media that's become oversaturated.
You may be meditating or practicing meditative acts a lot, learning or making notes as well.
The person you'll be after this glow up is someone who can channel their emotions in better ways, better financially, someone who is in harmony within themselves, can connect to themselves and others better, someone who is truly in love with themselves even on their worst days.
Timings : as soon as 9 weeks from now as well as the coming 9 months.
Picture 2
Sleepless nights, wandering thoughts, unnecessary worries and unwanted "what ifs?"
Something isn't right.
Something is out of balance or you're doing your best to maintain this balancing act but you're tired of it.
This could be work life balance or having multiple income streams or choosing the right path or stream.
You're adaptable but you want a change already.
Too many challenges but you're learning that you're above them.
The harmony comes after a certain disruption. But you asked for this last bout of chaos, didn't you? You have learnt that you thrive in it.
The change is sudden and unforseen but when it happens you're almost too glad that it did.
Your glow up is joy, happiness, community, the right people and a change what you previously thought was right for you but you realized you were pushing it all this while and in the long term it wasn't as appealing as it seemed. But what you have with you now is even better.
There's a fine line between fate and free will, you'll be happily surprised by what fate had in store for you all along.
The person you'll be after this glow up is secure, satisfied  successful, content and recognised. You'll be witnessing the fruits of your labour and eagerly giving yourself a treat without second thoughts.
Timings : Soon and inevitably
Picture 3
Way too many challenges, it's like a WWE cage match, you against yourself and you against your life. You're so beyond done but still have the sense of humor to say, "tis but a scratch." or, "hey you should see the other guy."
Following, forging and figuring out your life Path has been your biggest challenge it seems. But your glow up comes in the realization that every little thing you have done and are doing is inevitably leading you to your fulfillment.
Your glow up is finding your essence, letting yourself shine, letting yourself be known, better health as well.
You'll be meeting friends, connecting with new ones, finding your soul family and learning something new.
Being a student this time will actually feel exciting.
I also see you healing a long standing ailment as well or just feeling revitalized overall.
I also see you creating little daily rituals for yourself that you look forward to. A personal routine not the kind that's been imposed on you.
Exciting new opportunities and meeting the right people at the right time.
The person you'll be after this glow up is someone who has walked away from unwanted situations, closed the door and bid farewell to what no longer serves, on their way to new horizons and perhaps even in love or simply being adored by the people you meet.
You'll be glad you allowed yourself to find the strength to shine through despite anything.
Timings : The coming 5 weeks.
Picture 4
So you just woke up one day, one fine day, possibly sunny and you felt extremely accomplished.
How? What? When? It didn't even matter.
I believe you realized the power of your words, the power of gratitude and your own sheer unwavering determination.
You owe it to yourself to write a thank you letter addressed to you, for not letting the light in your soul ever dim down.
Your glow up is centered around your manifestions coming in.
As poetic as it sounds, 'slowly, then all at once.'
An underlying energy I'm picking up is extremely spiritual in nature, now this might be you connecting to your higher self, your guides, deities, God, your ancestors, whatever and whoever you believe in. Its something very personal to you, you have paved your own way.
Your glow up includes, a desired changed in appearance, your outlook, several breakthroughs, standing out of the crowd, luxury, improved finances, confidence, leadership, resources, inheritances, Intimacy, fame, recognition, ideas, awareness, self expression, intuition ... Its a lot, innit?
But you asked for this so why are you shocked that you're receiving?
I also see a significant improvement in one's financial status (this is coming through strongly) and being able to manifest best possible outcomes. Again, it's your own sheer willingness and discipline.
The person you'll feel after this glow up, is someone who can sit back and smile through tear tears, only this time they aren't forcing it, they're just content they made it. That they have more than enough and they can share their happiness as well as resources. Maybe you'll cry your heart out a bit as a form of catharsis as well. Eitherway, you can breathe a sigh of relief.
Timings : It's already started. Keep going.

hi internet bro, You posted Duolingo Yiddish the other day. Are you taking it as a heritage language ? Did you hear it growing up? How do you feel about studying it (in the Duo version of study)
I ask because I am curious about learning the language of my ancestors, but don't have a clear place to use it- whereas my workplace is multilingual and it would be more practical to learn the trade languages I hear every day.
but I still want to help revitalize indigenous languages and culture.
Hey there, thanks for asking!
I'm learning Yiddish because it's the language of my ancestors who fled Russian and Lithuania in the wake of pogroms at the beginning of the 20th century. When they reached American there was a great deal of pressure to assimilate.
One of my great great grandfathers was very proud of his ability to speak English without an accent, something that he associated with his success in starting a business which would later give him the ability to send my grandfather to college, making him the first person to do so. On the 1920 census, that great great grandfather's native language is listed as Jewish, which was sometimes how Yiddish was referred to.
My grandmother grew up in a house with Yiddish speaking parents. They were orthodox, but her father didn't wear a kippah outside of the house because of the pressure to assimilate. Her parents only spoke Yiddish when they didn't want their children to understand what they were saying. As a result, my grandmother never learned.
So I'm learning Yiddish for the same reason I wear a kippah, because my not-so-distant ancestors didn't feel like they could. Because it makes me feel connected to them, who and what they left behind, and the generations of Jews who have kept Yiddish alive both in Europe and diaspora communities. Certainly, it's less "practical" than learning Spanish or Chinese or Arabic or any number of other languages that are more commonly spoken.
But if we only learned languages because they're practical, what happens to the languages that don't make the cut? What happens to the languages that have been deliberately suppressed by colonialism and genocide and assimilation? There are many different reasons to learn a language; practicality is only one of them.
I'll be honest: I'm conflicted about the Duo version of Yiddish. Here's a really good article that explains the debate over the dialect of Yiddish that Duolingo chose to use for their course. The TL;DR is that Duolingo teaches Hasidic Yiddish, a popular dialect but not a universal one. Different dialects result from different communities, and there are political implications for choosing one over the others.
But Duolingo is free, and it's easy for me to spend ten minutes in the evening practicing a few words. It's not the best language learning platform by any means, but it has the language I wanted to learn and it meets my (admittedly simple) needs. After a year or so (and I'm maybe 50% of the way through the course) I find myself able to read simple texts and understand snatches of spoken Yiddish.
I'm also a member of the Yiddish Book Center, which I would totally recommend. They have lots of great resources for learning Yiddish and for interacting with Yiddish culture via literature, oral history, music, art, etc. Most of their programming is in English, and is easily accessible. There are other organizations out there doing great work to support and revitalize Yiddish, this is just the one I'm most familiar with.

Sally Face lore from the Sally Face: Strange Nightmares Kickstarter
I haven’t seen anyone do this yet (as far as I can tell!) and I’ve always admired the sally face community. With how lovely the community continues to be and with the revitalization it’s been given due to the sally face kickstarter; I’ve decided to come out of my shell and give back to the community I admire! I’ve gone through every single scrap of info through the entirety of the kickstarter (streams, lore given to backers, and some questions he answered on twitter!) to put all the lore revealed by Steve Gabry himself into one place for everyone to use however they wish! If anyone would like to watch the streams then please go to:
Beneeta_K (Twitch Streamer)’s 2 streams they did with Steve Gabry:
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1739974869  (Where they play the board game from the kickstarter)
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1752120791  (The kick off Q&A they did at the start of the kickstarter)
And the 4 streams on Steve Gabry (Portable Moose)’s youtube channel will be located under the ‘Live’ tab. Here’s a link to his channel: https://www.youtube.com/@PortableMoose/streams
This is made with love from a sally face fan who’s been around since chapter one came out all those years ago, thanks for making such a wonderful game Steve! I hope you all enjoy! <3 (Sorry it's so late!)
Pink is Steve Gabry answering questions and Black is the Questions!
-THE STREAM LORE-       (in no particular order)
:Q: “Are any of the gang in a band?”
A: “They tried to start a band together at some point, but they didn't do much with that.”
Q: “What instrument does each character play?”
A: “Sal plays the guitar, Todd plays the keyboard,Larry plays the drums, Ash sings and plays bass.” Steve at the end says, ‘By the way, I didn’t say they play well. They loved it though.’
Q: “What kind of music did the band make and what were they named?”
A: “They would have played grunge rock with a 90’s vibe with the keyboard.”
(Steve says in the stream that they did not pick a band name, he would imagine that they would have a long piece of paper with a lot of band names on them, some crossed out some not, but they wouldn’t have been able to pick one lol.)
Q: “What song would Sal absolutely love?”
A: “Before he met Larry, he was mostly into rock, grunge, and punk, And then when he met Larry he started really getting into metal.”
Q: “What is Sal's favorite baked good?”
A: “You know what, let’s make it cinnamon rolls.”
Q: “Is Gizmo okay?”
A: “Gizmo is fine, he’s doing good.”
Q: “What is the story about the homeless man on floor 5?”
A: “Well he’s a man, he is homeless, he is on floor 5, sometimes he’s not on floor 5; how ‘bout that?”
Q: “Who was the intended person for Travis’s note?”
A: “I’ve answered this question many times, but people don’t like the answer, so they keep asking. So the answer is, I have someone in mind, but I purposely left it open for you guys to think about who you want it to be.”
Q: “What is Sal’s ideal date night?”
A: “Having a date.”
A: “I think he would enjoy doing something in nature, he would also enjoy just going to see a horror movie, playing video games, going to a concert, something like that.”
Q: “What is Larry’s ideal date?”
A: “Definitely listening to metal, in some form, going to a metal concert, getting some pizza.”
Q: “What is Travis’s ideal date?”
A: “I feel like getting far away from Nockfell and doing something outside the city, getting away from his parents and school. Just a place where he doesn’t have to be around people he knows.”
Q: “What is Ashley’s ideal date?”
A: “She probably would like to go to an art museum or some sort of art exhibit or maybe going to see a play.”
Q: “Todd’s ideal date?”
A: “Definitely going to some sort of science center, going to see some kind of new technology, some educational thing you would enjoy doing or going to a paranormal convention.”
Q: “Did the four horsemen have sleepovers?”
A: “Oh yeah, 100%, all the time.”
Q:“What is the story between Janice and Ray?”
A: “They’re Todd’s parents, they are a little bit ‘burned out’, you know? They’re very loving, open-minded, and kind hearted. They’re a little bit ‘burned out’, they’re spacy, Janice is a little more ‘burned out’ than Ray you may have noticed. She gets ‘burned out’ and forgets what she’s talking about a lot.”
Q: “Is Ash emo?”
A: “No, I mean you have to remember when they're in high school it’s like the 90’s it wasn’t really, you know… there’s Daria hahaha.”
Q: “If Travis survived from the hole, what do you think he’d be up too?”
A: “What do you think he’d be up to?”
Q: “What are the kiddo’s favorite colors?”
A: “Sal’s is blue or pink, Larry is red or black, Ash is purple, Todd is green, Travis likes black.”
Q: “Why did Jim’s puzzlebox turn into a rubix cube?”
A: “Why did that happen?”
Q: “Where did Gizmo get all those stickers from?”
A: “Where does anyone get stickers from?”
Q: “Is Gizmo a salmon guy or chicken guy?”
A: “He loves both, Gizmo just likes to eat.”
Q: “What is Larry’s love language?”
A: “Larry’s is physical touch.”
Q: “What is Sal’s love language?”
A: “Sal’s love language is definitely quality time.”
Q: “Does Sal have a game cube?”
A: “Yeah, he has a game cube.”
Q: “What flavor is Addison Tea?”
A: “It’s Addison flavor.”
Q: “What is the vending machine’s love language?”
A: “Physical touch.”
Q: “What is the homeless guy on floor 5’ love language?”
A: “Here’s the thing with the homeless guy, before it would have been giving gifts, before the way he is now.”
Q: “How often does Travis cry?”
A: “I think he probably cries frequently but secretly and intensely.”
Q: “Is Todd autistic?”
A: “You know he might be on the spectrum, he’s very socially allowed and very blunt. He doesn’t have a lot of social cases.”
Q: “What was Todd and Neil’s first date?”
A: “They met in the library, their first date, probably would have just been going for a walk somewhere and talking.”
~Backer Bonus Lore Given~
-Waiting for Chocolate: In episode two, chug is downstairs waiting for the vending machine guy to come and refill it with delicious snacks. He usually comes every other Saturday and Chug is always there to greet him. However, this time, the vendor does not show up. I originally had a side story planned about the vending machine guy going missing and Chug being very concerned about that. Even though that story didn't make it into the game, the detail is still there. The vending machine guy is gone and his machine remains empty for the rest of the game.
-The Open Road: Ash's dad, Adam Campbell, was a mechanic and always had some project going on in the garage. One of his prized possessions was eventually passed down to Ashley, once she was old enough. It was something she had her eye on for a long time: his motorcycle. Adam even taught Ash to to ride at a young age. So she was already comfortable riding it by the time she was legally allowed to. It became second nature to her. Sometimes she goes out riding, just to clear her head. Ash loves the freedom of the open road.
-Nutmeg: Grieving Mrs.Gibson recives an unwanted gift from a relative. It's a little brown rabbit. Somehow this animal is meant to fill the hole left by her late husband. The rabbit was seen as a burden to Mrs.Gibson, just another thing to take care of. She was too old for this. She didn't even bother to name it at first. Then, slowly, she found herself growing attached to the little critter. When the rabbit was one year old, Gibson made a special meal for her and finally gave her a name. She decided to call her Nutmeg. A nickname that Gibson's husband used to call her.
-Twitter Spontaneous AMA-
Q: Did Travis know about the Devourers of God and Kenneth's involvement in it, or was he kept in the dark about it until he joined?
A: He didn't know when he was younger.
Q: Did the characters come first or were they designed after you came up with the concept for the game?
A: Sal came first, then Larry with the basic idea, then the story and other characters came at the same time.
Q: Two very important questions: Would you consider making it possible to pet gizmo in sally face two (if he's still alive) and do you have this wedding photograph in higher quality?
A: Maybe! And it was drawn at that small scale, so this is the in-game asset is as high res as it gets-
Tumblr media
Q: When is the next video game coming?
A: I'm HOPING to release a small project with Wither Studios (nothing SF related) MAYBE towards the end of this year. These things are very hard to predict in advance. Which is why games are always being delayed. So I try not to make promises until I know for sure.
Q: Will we get the $250k stretch goal on the Kickstarter even if we don't reach it?
A: I think we'll definitely pass that goal (The goal at the end was $306,947!)
Q: Is Sal legally allowed to drive since he is missing an eye?
A: Yes!
Q: Did you write and sing all of the Sanity's Fall songs?
A: Yeah, I did all the music including everything for the SF songs.
Q: What program did you use to make the sally face art?
A: I used Photoshop and a Wacom drawing tablet.
Q: Why were Chug and Soda dull when cleansing the apartment?
A: You can actually find this answer in the game! If you play close attention during that part.
Q: 1) Why does Sal grab his pigtails in Packerton's apartment when he thinks they're about to get caught? Is that something he does for comfort? 2) When did Sal first start expressing himself with his hair, and what did Henry initially think?
A: 1) It's a nervous response. Just like someone may cover their face or mouth when scared. 2) Once his mom die, he let his hair grow out. Soon after it got long enough, he started with the pigtails. Henry thought it was a little odd at first but was fine with it.
Q: Did it ever cross your mind to add voice acting to the game? Recently watched Featherfall studio's fan-dub and the game looks even more interesting with voices.
A: It's something that I've thought about but I would be SO picky about getting the right voices. So idk. Plus it'd be a big pain to add retroactively. Maybe more likely in the second game, if I decide to add voices.
Q: We know Travis and Todd are gay, but what about the other characters? Do you have any idea?
A: I will say that Sal is purposely left ambiguous so that players can project their own feelings onto him. Though I have my own ideas about him too.
Q: What was your favorite part about developing Sally Face (Or making the board game)?
A: I love creating the world and seeing it come to life. It's also something truly special to see people connect with my work on an emotional level.
Q: One of my favorite Youtubers just finished the game, ad i was wondering when the second Sally Face is going to come out because it did say it'll be continued.
A: It's very early in development, so I don't have any timelines right now. If you're interested, I made a retrospective of the development history and some more insight here; https://youtu.be/JZPOx2jMLxE?si=r-N4mcDZC40MrtJr
Q: Is there a reason why Sal has long hair instead of short hair?
A: Because he likes it long.
Q: If I were to make a video playing the game Sally Face would you take down the video for copyright?
A: I'm always happy to see people playing Sally Face. I wouldn't copyright strike any content creators for playing or streaming the game.
Q: Why were there so many empty letters addressed to Sal?
A: They may not be so empty after all.
Q: What's in Addison's Tea?
A: You don't wanna know.
Q: Is Lisa Johnson a Latina?
A: Her family is mostly from Spain and Italy.
Q: Do you think some people would actually believe Sal on trail since it was close to the satanic panic era, or the satanic panic era was already dead then?
A: There might be some people out there who believe him.
Q: Are you planning on adding more official language translations into the game, and what ethnicity is Travis intended to be, if he has any?
A: I don't have any concrete plans right now, it just takes a lot of time and effort. But I'd like to add some more language support in the future, if possible. And Travis is multiracial.
Q: What are the SF character's favorite IRL songs?
A: Larry's favorite song is a Sanity's Fall on you haven't heard yet.
Q: How and when did Todd and Neil meet?
A: They met in the library.
Q: What was the idea behind different art styles in the game?
A: I've been obsessed with the idea of alternate realities since I was in high school (before all the cool kids were doing it lol) and for a long time I've wanted to make a game with multiple art styles, revolving around this idea of different realities.
Q: Since Lisa's family is from Spain, does Larry speak or know any Spanish?
A: He knows some but isn't fluent.
Q: Will the second part of the game be released in episodes like the first.
A: Still debating on this. I'm curious to see what fans think, I'll make poll! (He did create a poll, staggered episodes was what won the poll on twitter.)
Thank you very much for reading this post! Have a Great Day or Night!

So Long, 2023
Tumblr media
Major rant undercut !!
2023 has been a very mixed year for me, a LOT happened that made my days just completely shit and horrible, but the last few months have been some of the greatest I’ve had.
I turned 18, something 13-15 year old me never thought would happen, I graduate next year too. Dani and I have been together for a year and a half, and I still become such a child thinking about Dani<33
I also met so many new people this year through a very small community of serennedy shippers within the resident evil fandom. I would like to say I am very, very thankful to have met you all this year and I’m thankful for those who have stuck around for multiple years. You may not be on this drawing (I mainly did people who I dm regularly/semi regularly) but just know I appreciate you so, so much <33
Getting into Resident Evil has genuinely saved my life in more ways than one. It’s become a franchise that I quickly held near and dear to my heart, I love love the characters, the gameplay, the lore, all of it. Some of you might already know that Luis has quickly become a top favorite character for me, if not my all time favorite character from how much I draw him and rant about him. Luis’ character is something incredibly special to me and through him I found myself in this really nice circle of friends who also love him as much as I do.
So all in all, the beginning and some middle bits of the year may have not been the greatest for me, the end of the year has really revitalized my motivation to keep going. To see my friends and family grow and most importantly—to see myself grow.
I wasn’t a good person a couple years back, back when I had just gotten out of a toxic relationship with someone who took any amount of self worth I had then and crushed it, in turn making me a not so great person on accident. But since then I’ve taken steps to improve myself and become a better person, I have found people I want around me—people who enjoy having ME around.
So long, 2023. May 2024 be better.

It was a relief for everyone to finally be back home. Returning to a surprisingly spotless house, a full refrigerator, and a pantry had honestly been the highlight of your week. The entire ride to the house all you could think about was the disaster the house had been left in and all the food that had been tossed away. The thought of having to do any shopping or cleaning, had you considering jumping out of the moving car. You had sent your brother a thank you text, and as expected, even hours later, no reply. You had honestly begun to worry, the extreme part of your brain screaming he was dead and you were trapped here with hybrids.
What a nightmare.
Thankfully your mother was more than confident he was still living, she had even spoken to him a few hours before you had called. You felt bitterness, or maybe anger was a better way to describe it. Honestly, at this point, you weren’t sure you were still angry. You were just disappointed with the way things were playing out. The gut feeling you had the weeks before arrival was right, as always, and of course, you ignored it, as always. Unless something ‘dire’ was happening, your brother was practically a missing person, at least towards you. Your mother said she spoke with him every day, and even the hybrids had shared that they all heard from him at least once a week. So what have you done? Why was he avoiding communication? You were doing him a favor. The whole situation had your head spinning.
Your brother was never such a flakey person. He responded to every text and every missed call, his behavior now was out of character and you couldn’t figure out why now he was deciding to act out. Not even your mother could explain it. She had promised to speak with him, but she had done so multiple times these last few weeks. How much longer were you going to have your mother act as the messenger?
You were exhausted, anxious, and angry. Three emotions that didn’t mix well together.
You were also a little disappointed in yourself. You had finally reached a point of comfort around the hybrids. Sure the brush of a tail, or a more animalistic trait would occasionally make your stomach churn, but it was something you could look past a little better. After Jeongguk’s stunt, it had sent you reeling back. You’ve been trying to convince yourself it wasn’t that bad. He was probably just messing around, trying to scare you. He didn’t seem to like you anyway, so this was probably just him trying to freak you out for his own entertainment. The others shouldn’t be punished or pushed away for someone else’s actions, and yet your gut instinct warned you that his behavior wasn’t out of the ordinary, and trusting any of them was a step in the wrong direction.
“Y/n, bathrooms free!” Namjoon smiled, walking past the living room with a towel rubbing at his wet hair. He looked fresh and revitalized, with loose clothes hanging from his body. You had decided to shower last. While the outside of both the hotels looked lovely, you were sure the human building was in much better condition inside compared to the hybrid building.
“Thanks, Joonie.” You grinned, making your way toward your brother's ensuite.
—-
It was obvious that Y/n was uncomfortable. Her poor attempts to seem busy were almost endearing. Hoseok had watched you clumsily make your way down to the docks, suitcase barely standing upright as you rushed. You were running behind. You were talking somewhat loudly, phone in a free hand as if trying to make a point that you shouldn’t be spoken to. White chords hung from your ears and headphones. Judging by the voice coming through the headphones Hoseok easily pinned it to your mother. He had heard the voice a million times. His owner was quite the mama’s boy.
Hoseok often wondered what his own mother was like. Like most hybrids, he had been separated from his mother the second he was able to have an all-solid diet. He never saw or heard of his mother again. He wished he could say it made him sad, but honestly, it didn’t really. How could he miss someone he didn’t really know?
Hoseok didn’t have a lot of experience with human women. He had been around hundreds of female hybrids, and they were easy to understand because they were like him. Bred strong, beautiful, and submissive to their masters. And sure, there were plenty of beautiful humans out there, and you were one of them, but there was something very different about the beauty of humans compared to a hybrid. Most of the human women Hoseok had seen were through the screen of his phone, or whatever shitty show his owner was watching. When he found out you were coming to care for them and keep the house intact, he was thrilled. A human? A human woman?
Of course, he hadn’t met you before and knew very little, Jay had been overly sensitive about sharing your existence with the pact. Avoiding even letting your name slip. It had been strange when his owner did a sudden 360, going from hiding your existence to practically thrusting you into their life. Hoseok wasn’t going to complain, a new human was always exciting.
He had only seen glimpses of you, faintly heard your voice through the speakers of Jay's phone. So when Hoseok found your social media profiles he was pleased to see you weren’t very private on anything. He spent the entire evening looking through every photo you had posted, everything you were tagged in, and every comment you had made that he could find.
He could finally understand why his owner wanted to keep you hidden.
He had been thrilled when Jay left, and when you finally arrived he thought he would throw up from his excitement. When you finally come out to their cages, you’re scent him like a ton of bricks.
Unfortunately, this excitement had triggered him into an early rut. So when most of his packmates had made their way back into the house, he was stuck outside. This, he was sure of, was some form of torture. You were so close. Even from so far, he could faintly smell you, it lingered on his tongue.
How do you taste?
Arriving home Hoseok watched everyone disappear, desperate for a shower, fresh clothes, and their own beds. His pack had rushed upstairs, desperate for the familiarity of their own room. He had his own plans. The blonde-haired man watched you throw your bag into your tiny sleep space, hiding out in there for a while before sitting out in the living room. You fiddled on your phone, tapping angrily at the screen. Hoseok had wanted to smooth out the angry creases on your brow and fix whatever was bothering you.
You waited awhile before Namjoon made his way out of the ensuite of your brother's room, announcing the space was free for your use. With only two showers it meant long lines, and you had urged the boys to go first, promising you were more than happy to wait, they needed it more than you.
You had practically leaped off the sofa, sending a bright smile toward the pack leader before practically running to your brother's room, towel in hand. A jealous pang had hit Hoseok's chest. You hadn’t smiled at him like that before, and judging by the surprised look on Namjoon’s face, even he was surprised by the relaxed tone and pretty smile.
Hoseok waited, watching the hall for a few moments. His ears twitched when the sound of water rushing through the pipes, and then music. Loud music. His cue.
During your stay, Hoseok had picked up on a routine you had whenever you showered. If music was playing you were going to take your time. He had figured it out pretty quickly. He wanted to know everything about you. Every habit. Every quirk. Things about you that even you were unaware of.
Your makeshift room has become Hoseok's favorite place. Your scent covered every crevice, it was a comfort he never knew he needed. The space was tiny, your bed being a fold-out sofa. Your brother didn’t like sharing his room, in fact, he nor his pack were supposed to go in there, not even for the bathroom. Seven men in one bathroom had been a huge issue. Thankfully, the shower and the toilet were separated. The converted bedroom was originally Jeongguk and Jin’s gaming room, their computer setups were actually still there. You didn’t mind letting them in to play either, you would stay on the bed or sit out in the living room if you needed space. You just asked if they didn’t play too late into the night, which had irked Jeongguk. But Seokjin was more than happy to comply. Even Taehyung and Jimin had started sitting in the room ‘watching’ the two play. Hoseok knew well that they just liked being in the room that smelt so strongly of you, but sometimes he wondered if perhaps they were in there for the same reasons he went there.
None of your bags had been unpacked into the small wardrobe in the room, you had left everything neatly folded in your suitcases, almost as if you were counting down the minutes until Jay and Mila returned home so you could take off. But the surprise trip to the hotel had thrown out those plans and your room had become a colorful array of clothing. This honestly made things much easier for Hoseok, and he was thankful to Jay for the surprise trip.
You had made no move of leaving the bathroom, clearly having settled into the stream. Hoseok took this as a go-ahead. The soft click of the door behind him was almost like a signal to his nervous system, his body instantly relaxing. Your room was messy, as always. He was honestly thankful for it. The messier the better. You wouldn’t notice if he touched anything. He had been worried you had cleaned up during the time you had spent in the room.
The hybrid dropped onto your bed, nose scrunching in discomfort. The mattress was old and thin, the springs nearly ripping through. It was no surprise you always seemed so tired.
Wrapping your bedsheets around himself, Hoseok wiggled himself closer to your suitcase that you had left open and disheveled. He wondered if you had just packed it like crap, or maybe looked for something before going to shower. Either way, he didn’t care. He dug through the bag, not having to look too hard, a triumphant grin on his lips when he found your panties. Pale blue, soft with lace at the ass. How pretty the little fabric would have looked against your skin.
Part of Hoseok knew what he was doing was weird. He was being a creep. But he needed this. He needed you, but you weren’t ready for him. Not yet. He could wait as long as you needed but in the meantime, he needed something of you. Sure he had a few items of yours already, but over time the smell fades and he needs to replace it.
A soft hum left his throat as he pressed the material to his nose, taking a deep inhale. His body shuddered in relief, it had been too long. The smell of you lingered on the back of his tongue, his mouth-watering. His imagination was wandering, yet never straying from you.
The pretty material smells of you. Your scent wraps around him. His cock strains against his pants, groping at his hard cock. Taking in a deeper breath his cock twitches in his hand.
How does she smell so sweet?
He works himself over, smoothing the pearly precome over his base. He could happily suffocate in the sea of lacey blue. His hand transforms from his large callused one to your dainty hands. Your soft hand can hardly wrap fully around his girth. God he can't wait to split you with his cock. A whine left his throat, it was as if he could feel the gentle tips of your fingers teasing. The brush of your tongue on the tip of his cock had his spine shivering. You would be so shy, your cheeks burning red as you touched him, begging him not to look you in the eyes. He trusts that she's naïve in the acts of harlots as she is in the day-to-day aspect. Hoseok loved the way humans touched, clueless in the way of pleasure. He'll have to instruct you.
Has anyone touched you before? Did you touch yourself in the night? He groaned at the thought of you whimpering, dainty fingers touching and rubbing. Already Hoseok knew his nights would become restless.
He feels his orgasm pull at his nerves. He holds her panties to the head of his cock fucking into the material. He bites back his moans. She may be in the shower but he doesn't want to give himself away. Although the idea was exciting. What would you do if you found him this way? His cock out, rutting into your used panties? Would you be angry? Flustered? Turned on? Perhaps you would enjoy seeing how desperate he was for you, crawl over the bed to help him out.
He paints the inside of your panties at the thought. It's not the same as covering the walls of her pussy but it will do for now.
Hoseok’s body sags into the bed, his grip still tight on the now-ruined panties. He would have to dispose of them, but that was a future Hoseok’s problem. His scent was entangled with yours, a welcome comfort as his eyes fell shut. Sleep was threatening to take over, and he was tempted to give in, just for a moment, but the silence of the house had settled onto him.
No music.
Your light footsteps were too close to the door. There was no way Hoseok could get out of the room without you seeing. Anxiety grappled at his throat. You had already pulled away, there was no way he could explain the current… situation he was in.
“Sorry Y/n my dick fell into your panties and I came, my bad!”
He felt ill. He was well and truly fucked. You would find him and then what? Leave? Call your brother.
Jay.
The thought of his wonder finding out about his misdemeanors had him hyperventilating. He would rather you drag him to the police. Another set of feet came tumbling down the hall, Jimin, stopping by your door.
“Y/n, Seokjin hyung asked me to get you. He’s starting dinner.”
Your response was muffled, and honestly, at this moment, Hoseok didn’t care for your answer right now. Jimin had unknowingly bought him a minute. Rolling off the bed and under the bed Hoseok grunted in pain. He probably should have tried to shimmy his shorts back up, laying on his stomach on the hardwood floor wasn’t the coziest position for his dick.
Your door clicked open, your bare feet came into view. Much to Hoseok’s disappointment you were already dressed, the fluffy white pants ruining the view of what could have been your legs. Soft humming filled the silent space, you had been singing the same song to yourself for the past week. Hoseok had learned very early on that you had a very different music taste compared to not only himself but his pack too. While the music wasn’t really his cup of tea, he was more than happy to listen to it just to see the smile it brought to your lips as you sang along, or spoke about the artists. Seeing you smile was worth any mild dislike he may be experiencing.
A pile of clothes dropped to the floor, drawing Hoseok’s attention away from watching your movements. Peeking out of the pile, almost like you had done it on purpose, was another pair of panties. His heart was hammering in his chest. He hadn’t been able to get a pair this fresh. Any logical thought seemed to melt out of his brain, the wires of his brain severed allowing his body to act on its own accord. He watched in horror as his hand shot out and latched onto the slightly damp material, dragging it back under. The room fell silent. Your humming stops abruptly.
Fuck fuck fuck
Eyes.
Your eyes peered under the bed, staring into his almost as if you weren’t actually seeing him. There was a bleak look on your face, and for a brief second Hoseok felt his heart stop beating. And then a blood-curdling scream ripped out your throat, the scream itself seemed to send you to your ass, your feet pushing yourself up to the wall. Your eyes never strayed from his. The action made his chest ache. You were running from him.
The sound of his pack's feet thundered toward your room, and within what seemed like seconds, Jimin and Seokjin had burst into the room. Jimin had squatted by your side, his back to Hoseok, hands soothingly rubbing your biceps. Hoseok could hear the sound of Jimin’s voice attempting to soothe your trembling figure, but he couldn’t understand a single word. The room was spinning, he felt sick. His stomach knotting so violently he was sure everything he had eaten that morning would soon be forced back out his throat.
“What happened?” Seokjin frowned, eyes flickering over the room. Slowly the rest of the boys had shown up, standing behind Seokjin, trying to peer over his shoulders.
Hoseok watched in horror as you pointed at him, your face was pale like you were seconds away from vomiting. Jimin had followed your finger, his jaw-dropping.
“Hoseok hyung?”

Dave Chapelle wrote the best trans joke I've ever heard. I say this as a trans author. He says for a trans woman (which I am,) no matter how much I augment my genitalia, it will never be a real vagina, even though it might look and feel just like the real thing. Then he says "Impossible pussy!" and slaps his knees. The camera cuts to a woman in the front row visibly upset and crying.
It's the perfect joke, its long, detailed, has cliff hangers, an edgy set up, and a really creative punch line that delivers social commentary both on trans vaginas and fake meat. It's masterful.
Chapelle says his one trans fan likes his jokes, so it's okay.
He says all oppression is not the same. He says he had to chew out a white women for letting her oppression take precedent over his as a black man in America.
The Black Panthers created the rainbow coalition specifically to guard against these divide and conquer tactics. The rainbow coalition spread to many countries, many races, creeds, religions, and genders. They aremed themselves because they knew the fight would be real, and dangerous. Black power, the Black Panther movement was about global unity and a drastic change in global power structures. Through COINTEL PRO and other efforts, the US Government played a large part in the assassination of leaders, downfall, and ultimate evisceration of the Black Panther Party which are now known as the Crips and Bloods.
They say you stop maturing the year you get famous. Chapelle I'm assuming stopped in his 20s because he seems, as a black person, to have missed the core message of BLM which is that our struggles are united and that if we don't shout BLACK TRANS LIVES MATTER from the rooftops and FREE PALESTINE during religious services, we are complicit in the racist system that Chappelle himself spent an entire hour on Inside the Actors Studio complaining about.
Black trans women are murdered at a higher rate than almost any part of the US population. Trans and queer people all across the globe are systematically murdered. Being trans and queer is illegal and punishable by death or prison in many countries. Women, white and non-white, are often preyed upon and trafficked for sex globally as well.
BLM is a critical part of global history as it allows us to unentangle the deep roots of the prison industrial complex as well as things like redlining, and white capitalism so that we can start the very, very long and arduous process of in some way equalizing the playing field for a group of people that had horrific things done to them for centuries at the hands of powerful leaders.
It is built into BLM that liberation for black people is liberation for all. Not that it comes at the cost of everyone's freedom. It is a revitalization of the Black Panther Party.
Dave did 3 specials about trans people. James Acaster says "Edgy comedians, no one tells them what they can and can't say. They walk on stage, do 10 solid minutes, slagging off transgender people. Straight out the gate, making fun of transgender people. If people get upset about it, they say "Bad luck! That's my job! I'm a stand up comedian! I like to challenge people! If you don't like being challenged! Don't come to my shows! What's the matter guys? Too challenging for ya?!" He rants and repeats that for a little while. And then he says "Oh yeah, you know who's been long overdue a challenge? The trans community. They've had their guard down for too long if you ask me. They'll be checking their privileged on the way home now thanks to you, you brave little cis boy. I used to say the name of that comedian and it made things really awkward. 2019, people still happy to laugh at trans people, not as comfortable laughing at, I've learned, Ricky Gervais."
Dave Chappelle, found his one trans fan (not even friend), and wasn't given, but TOOK our equivalent of the n-word pass from her.
N-word passes are not real. It's a joke you play on dumb white people. Basically you give a white kid "the pass" to see if they're dumb enough to say the n-word in front of other black people. Then you get to sit back and laugh as the entire room goes ballistic on them. "OH MY GOD REBECCA WALKED INTO CHEMISTRY AND SAID WHATS UP MY N****S TO THE WHOLE CLASS!"
One random person does not speak for the whole planet.
I have also heard many well crafted racist black, asian, and latino jokes. I do not tell them. Not because they're not funny. But because they are based off of stereotypes that don't actually represent the vastly diverse group of people in those communities. They also are usually an oppressive person's opinion of someone who is opressed. It is the literal definition of bullying.
Retelling prejudiced jokes actively causes harm to those people. It supports the propaganda surrounding those communities that let police justify extrajudicial murder, and it keeps the people thinking that when a cop shoots a black man for going for his wallet, it was because he was scary, not because the cop was racist.
That's why I don't tell racist jokes, even if they are "really good."
Also, stand up comedy can literally be about ANYTHING. Pete Davidson did a whole bit about deciding whether to fuck his mom. It wasn't funny. But here's the thing, it could have been.
He could have said "Well... I already stuck my head through it."
For every one lifetime trans fan Dave keeps, he loses thousands. We are shouting at you from the rooftops that you are harmful to our community and you are furthering racism, because you are assigning hierarchy to oppression and deciding who is and isn't allowed to be oppressed. Rich, white men are at the top of that power structure.
I laughed out loud when I heard that joke. And then I slowly realized that I couldn't ethically stomach watching Chapelle any more. I didn't even know I was trans then, but just as a human being I couldn't do it. People that lean into hate I just don't let into my circle anymore. Yes even masters of their craft.

Conversion questions for candidates in the Conservative Movement of Judaism
Short context: The Conservative/Masorti Movement is generally more egalitarian and progressive than orthodox Judaism, but is less liberal than Reform Judaism. At this point, Reform and Conservative both allow for female rabbis, but the Conservative movement is more traditional with regards to liturgy, laws around kashrut, and laws around intermarriage with non-Jews. That was a very short summary, and these details can be further explored elsewhere. Note that the Rabbinical Assembly is the rabbinical leadership body of the conservative movement in the USA.
For anyone critical of the Israel questions (as you should be), please read my bolded notes:
These questions are not required of conversion candidates--it is an offered framework only and is up to the sponsoring rabbi and beit din to determine if they want to ask any/all of these questions or to take a different approach.
Do not assume that every Jew who converted conservative was asked all of these questions or that they had particular answers to them. This is for informational purposes only.
"The House of Israel" and "The People of Israel" refer to the Jewish community, not to the modern nation-state.

This stuff isn't easy to find, but I was able to dig it up because a rabbinical student posted their thesis online and included sources from the book. Thanks!

Text is as follows, only edits are formatting:
Essay questions for the Bet Din About a month to six weeks before meeting with the Bet Din, a conversion candidate should begin preparing an essay. The document should include the candidate's: (1) full name, (2) address, (3) home and business phone numbers, and (4) desired Hebrew name. In addition, the paper, to be distributed to each member of the Bet Din, should address the: following issues:
Describe the process that led you to want to become Jewish.
Which Jewish values and beliefs do you find most appealing and persuasive?

Describe how your personal and home life has changed because of Jewish tradition and how it may yet change in the future.
Describe your sense of identification with the Jewish people in relation to Israel, world Jewry, the local Jewish community, and your synagogue.
Describe how you intend to fulfill the mitzvah of צדקה.
What is your commitment to prayer and religious services?
What are your plans for future Jewish study?
If blessed with children, how will you handle their Jewish education?
List the Jewish books you have read and the newspapers or periodicals to which you subscribe.
The Bet Din's final questions of the conversion candidate If the Bet Din is satisfied with the written answers and oral responses, the interview may be concluded with the following questions:
Are you converting to Judaism by your own free will and volition, without coercion or undue external influence?
Do you renounce all beliefs you may once have had in any other religion?
In becoming Jewish, are you giving up all religious practices, holidays, and life cycle events such as baptism and communion that might be associated with your former religion?
Do you accept the God of Israel as the one universal and indivisible God?
Do you commit yourself to observing the mitzvot of Judaism, as defined by Jewish law, to the best of your ability and knowledge?
Do you commit yourself to the further study of Judaism and to continued growth in the observance of its mitzvot?
Will you support all those who seek to reestablish and revitalize our Jewish homeland by making the land and State of Israel a part of your life and the life of your family?
If blessed with children, do you pledge to raise them exclusively in the Jewish religion by providing them with a quality Jewish education and timely involvement in Jewish life-cycle events?
Do you commit yourself to associating with the Jewish community by joining a synagogue?
Do you bind your personal destiny to the destiny of the Jewish people?
These are the questions/statements, copied and pasted. I have only altered formatting when it didn't transfer over.
Again, do not assume every convert was asked these questions or answered them in the affirmative. This is just a framework that is offered, not mandated, by the Rabbinical Assembly. The framework deserves criticism; people who have converted to Judaism do not deserve individual scrutiny solely based on the above suggested questions and statements.
I know plenty of converts who converted conservative who were never asked about Israel at their beit din. This does not mean that we should not challenge zionism in our institutions, but it does mean our anger should be directed at the right places (including at converts and anyone else should they choose to defend a genocide.)
I posted this because I think transparency is important. Conservative Judaism cannot claim (as it sometimes will) that it welcomes differing opinions on Israel and Palestine if their handbook states otherwise. But you can't buy a copy unless you're a rabbi because these books are published by the Rabbinical Assembly and these questions weren't posted online until recently, so that plausible deniability is there.
I hope and pray that any non-Jew who decides to engage with/re-post this includes my caveats that this is not a reason to target individual converts solely because they are converts or because they are Jewish.
It also is important that converts know what to expect, at least on some level, when they go to their beit din. They know they will be asked some questions, but it's not clear which ones, so it helps to have a list. (Again, this is for the Conservative movement in the USA, and these questions are a framework rather than a legal requirement.) Converts to Judaism are put through a lot, especially those in conservative and orthodox traditions.
The least they could do is know in advance what they're likely (not guaranteed) to be asked.

FusionFall Headcanons: Sunny Bridges
Sadly, Class of 3000's representation in the game is pretty minimal--with mainly just the Sunny Bridges' Auditorium giving it a spotlight. With that, my own headcanons for how its characters would fit in FusionFall have also been limited, as there just isn't much material to go off of. However, inspired from returning to some of the show's music, I'd like to expand on ideas I've had sprinkled with other posts I've made. For now, let's focus on none other than Sunny Bridges himself:
With the auditorium situated in what might be the heart of entertainment for the City areas, Marquee Row, it's unlikely that Sunny originally intended for it to be anything other than a typical venue. Likely constructed prior to his days as a teacher, he may not have even cared for it at all depending on whether or not it was built by the time he started losing his passion for music. It was just another mark of the fame that was wearing him down. However, after his experiences teaching, he started using the auditorium to give young and upcoming artists the chance to explore their own talent on a professional stage. Classes and workshops could be taught there alongside the big concerts, and the auditorium grew as a place of both education and community.
It should go without saying that his time as a teacher revitalized his passion, enough for Sunny to continue acting as a mentor. He might still have issues with the music industry itself, but he's found himself again, along with the importance of music in his life and the lives of those around him. Thanks to that, he wants to keep passing on those lessons and bits of wisdom to others.
That strength in music came in-full when the war hit. The invasion stretched across every community around the globe, with a sense of peace stripped from everyone. Even when nanos were introduced and the tide began to turn, with nothing to help people escape from the daily terrors and lack of normalcy, morale was low. However, that is one of the great powers of art: To give moments of escapism, beauty, and hope in otherwise awful situations. In a situation where people can't even walk out of their homes without facing monsters, where soldiers constantly roam through the streets, when all the places and things you did that you used to find comfort in have been taken from you... Music is something anyone can take part in no matter where they are or what they have. You don't even need tools or instruments when you've got a voice to sing with, feet to dance with, and hands to beat out a rhythm. Music is something any person can take with them anywhere and can be the most widespread and uplifting of the arts. Sunny knows this, and so his part of the war effort was to share that spirit with anyone who needed it.
The Fusion Fighter radio network was already established when Sunny began volunteering himself and his students. However, Sunny plays one of, if not the, biggest role for it. Besides his own music, he also has the connections to bring in many other great artists. Again, he may not like the music industry, but his knowledge of it and his work with his students has given him some means of handling a good chunk of the administrative stuff many other creatives can have difficulty managing. He can get a jumble of talents working like a well-oiled machine. He'll help set up live performances as well, particularly in the City areas and especially at the base in the underground mall.
Inevitably, these efforts that were once his step away from the spotlight have dragged Sunny back in. Before his name could fade from people's minds after he left stardom, he ended up becoming a figurehead among all of these war-time entertainers. Anyone who didn't know him before certainly knows him now, whether or not they're fans of his music. Resuming his celebrity status isn't something he wants, and he makes that point well-known. Nevertheless, he's also glad that his music is reaching people and for all the right reasons.
Sadly, Fuse does not think the same way. Of course, the tyrant won't go after artists the same as he will other figures in the war effort, but he has caught on to how much hope and inspiration Sunny gives to people. If Sunny is ever left vulnerable, Fuse's army will take the chance to take him out. On the upside, there's also plenty of soldiers who'll gladly protect the musician when called.

The Daily Dad
Things you might want to know, for Dec 19, 2023:
Tumblr media
23andMe confirms hackers stole ancestry data on 6.9 million users — It’s probably too late and my warnings are pointless, but please kids… don’t give something as valuable as your DNA to a for-profit company that views security as a cost-center. It’s not just the millions of 23andMe suckerscustomers who have lost control of their genetic identity… their family members are compromised, too. Maybe it’s just me, but finding out you’re actually 8% Neanderthal isn’t worth giving the Russian mob the blueprints to your ancestry.
COMIXOLOGY, RIP — I was there at the start, with my little iPhone 3GS, ready to plow through a digital comic collection in Guided View mode. I was certain Comixology was going to save the comics business, and revitalize the audience. Now here we are at the end, nothing has been achieved, and a decade of progress has disappeared into the Kndle app, never to be seen again. Fucking A.
Using the iPad Pro as a Portable Monitor for My Nintendo Switch with Orion, a Capture Card, and a Battery Pack — Okay, I eat this kind of shit up. It’s absurd on a practical level, but it’s the kind of thing I’m likely to try, just for the hell of it.
Here’s what intentionally crashing a plane for YouTube clicks gets you — To paraphrase Robin Williams: the ability to crash a plane for attention is God’s way of telling you that you’re making too much money.
Facebook Messenger Rolls Out End-to-End Encryption by Default — About fucking time, Zuck. I guess he figures the petabytes of pre-E2E conversations that they can use to train their LLM will suffice, so it’s time to let the peasants have their privacy.
Tumblr media
Noah Hawley: How 'Twin Peaks' Influenced My Work — If you were between 16 and 30 in 1990 and had any sort of creative impulse, Twin Peaks influenced your work.
What Did It Mean That Howard the Duck Was Trapped 'in a World He Never Made'? — The ‘80s movie and modern MCU cameos don’t do justice to the comic book Howard of the 1970s. He was dark and weird and absurd and (?) sexy and grown-up in a way that other comics on the spinner rack hadn’t been in decades, and I was enthralled.
The use and misuse of evolutionary psychology in online manosphere communities: The case of female mating strategies
The Bizarre Cottage Industry of YouTube Obituary Pirates
Warner Bros. Reverses Course on 'Coyote vs. Acme' After Filmmakers Rebel

‘Now and Then,’ the Beatles’ Last Song, Is Here, Thanks to Peter Jackson’s AI — The song is very good, and the technical skill and care that went into its recovery is just as interesting. The video is just goofy fun, very much in keeping with The Beatles pre-breakup sensibilties. Overall, a delightful and unexpected treat in a year that was full of absolute bullshit.
Apple Now Selling Standalone USB-C AirPods Pro Case for $99
Texas sues Pfizer with COVID anti-vax argument that is pure stupid — I feel like most headlines featuring “Texas” or “anti-vax” should always include “pure stupid” as well.
How TV Executives Ruined Everything
Humane Debuts $700 AI Pin With 'Laser Ink Display' — Do I think this will be a success? No. It’s too niche and weird. But as a signal of life beyond the smartphone, it’s an intriguing development.
Tumblr media
DAK and the Golden Age of Gadget Catalogs — As a household, we didn’t receive a ton of mail as a kid… we saw only a fraction of the junk that hits my physical mailbox these days. But every few months, the DAK catalog would arrive, and I knew I was in for at least a night or two of nerdy, consumerist joy. Page after page of discontinued, misconfigured, or too-oddball-for-the-general-market gadgets were waiting to tempt me with deep discounts on things no one really needed. Sheer bliss, I tell you.

ARC Review of Out of Office by A.H. Cunningham
Tumblr media
Rating: 4.25/5 Heat Level: 3.75/5 Publication Date: April 23rd
Premise:
Genevieve is a high-powered hospitality executive intent on getting a promotion. Before she does, she decides to throw caution to the wind and embark on a vacation fling with Adrián, her driver in Panama. Two weeks later, neither of them are ready to end what they have.
My review:
This is a sensual, stunningly emotional read that touches on so many realistic adult issues while never sacrificing the romance. Genevieve and Adrián are in their thirties; Genevieve is a consummate career woman and you really understand where her drive to succeed comes from. Adrián on the other hand suffered from burnout some years prior and is now focusing on his family and their small hotel in Panama. Gen is endearingly uptight and type-A (her alternate persona is "Hot Girl Gen which... is so real of her), Adrián is super smooth and super laid-back, and they're technically in opposite places life-wise, so how do they make this work?
The answer is a lot of communication, but let me preface this by saying this doesn't make the book boring or *too real*. Instead, what you do get is two people who are instantly attracted to each other (and the chemistry is THERE right off the bat, and it's honestly kind of insane), but they need to make some tough choices when it comes to sustaining their relationship— What do they compromise on? What do they sacrifice? And this becomes even more relevant when their personal and professional lives collide and Genevieve's ability to do her job hinges on her successfully headhunting Adrián. As a woman of color, I really appreciated the nuanced way the author handled Gen's career, as well as a host of other topics like Adrián's bisexuality, the fact that Adrián isn't traditionally as "successful" as Gen career-wise (something you still don't see in a lot of romance novels), and Genevieve and Adrián's drive to revitalize small communities like Adrián's rather then outright gentrify them.
Also, the way A.H. Cunningham described the setting in places like Aguimar in Panama? Gorgeous. And love and care with which she wrote Afro-Panamanian culture really comes across.
The sex:
My big takeaway here is that the closer Gen and Adrian grew, the hotter the sex acts got. The initial sex scenes very sensual and more focused on building this emotional connection between them, and making them realize they were irreplaceable in each others' lives despite this ostensibly being a vacation fling. But once they found some semblance of permanence with one another, I feel like all bets were off. I loved how toys, masturbation, and video sex were incorporated into the story later (which makes sense since a part of their relationship is long-distance!), and Adrián had a strong "let me take care of you" vibe during sex which was never patronizing, but very hot. Also, Gen does, in fact, rim him during a blowjob, something I pleasantly surprised by.
Overall:
This is the second Harlequin Afterglow book I'm reviewing after The Boyfriend Subscription, and I've really enjoyed both of them. They've both been far more diverse than most of the contemporary romances I'm seeing out there, they're romantic, they have great sex scenes. I'd strongly recommend Out Of Office to anyone looking for a grown-up sexy kinda read.
Thank you to Harlequin and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my review.

We finally hit 5k!! 💜
We actually hit this a couple days ago but with the recent bot nonsense I had to be sure- I'll be honest, I wasn't sure I'd ever hit this milestone, so I'm really grateful to everyone who's still here and stuck by me! I'm a little stunned in awe-
For complete transparency, as time goes on the growth of the blog's really slowed down, and often it feels like obscurity's creeping its way in. The intrusive thought of "I wonder how many people are actually left that are still here" often makes its way into my head, but I try not to think about it. Despite what my gremlin brain tries to tell me I keep going out of sheer love for Under/Source and the desire to complete it for those who still remember me and show up every week, you guys are awesome! <3 Thank you so much! I really want to revitalize the community somehow, but it's hard when it's just me. That won't stop me from trying to reach new horizons though! (ง'́▾'̀)ง
And as promised! I will host another poll doodle! It'll be up sometime next week as I decide what to do this time around!
💜💙
