The Fear: Jason Todd x Fem!reader part 3
Tumblr media
part 1
part 2
A/N: Please, don't hate me for taking it slow :D :D And let me know if anyone wants a tag.
When her phone rang Y/N was halfway through her little science project. She spend last two months trying to come up with some crazy formula that would be the cure to the new version of the latest found virus. Still futile, but every other attempt brought her closer to the success.
“Oh, get lost…..” she muttered with zero intention and zero willingness to pick up, yet still glancing at the screen. Dick Grayson. Oh, ok. This probably wasn’t a social call.
“Dick? Hey there boy wonder, been a while” she answered, still hoping the bats weren’t in any trouble. Grayson was charming as usual, but his cheerful, flirting tone did not make her lower the guards down. And that instincts quickly turned out to be right when Tim intercepted the phone and simply explained Jayson got into trouble. That was all she needed to know, no more questions necessary. She made them a promise when she left Gotham.
“I’m on my way.”
Y/N knew the boys for quite a while. She wasn’t born in Gotham but for inexplicable reasons her family moved there when she was 10. Her father, much like herself now, was a scientist who was fascinated by Scarecrow’s fear gas and made it his personal mission to crack the formula and/or find the antidote. Of course, he failed miserably, being exposed to the extreme amount of toxin himself and as a result – going crazy and ending up locked in the mental hospital. Y/N was 12 at the time. Her mother went through a nervous breakdown because of what happened to her husband and a few months later ended up in the same ward at the same hospital leaving the poor girl alone.
Hm.
Poor girl was smart enough to escape the claws of foster care for three whole months, just because she was way too smart for a kid her age. She knew where her parents kept the money, she was overly familiar with the way Gotham used to function, what places to avoid and what facilities were somewhat safe. She learned all of that through careful observation. And she had her father’s chemistry and science books and research so it was enough to keep her occupied and not get into any trouble. She was attending school, being the quiet, silent student, keeping her amazing brain and mind at bay just to avoid anyone’s attention. Being invisible was the only way to stay out of radar. Also, that little girl was dealing with pain, loss and rage. She hated Scarecrow for obvious reasons and took her father’s mantle in finding the antidote to that freaking gas.
After said three months however, during one of her experiments, she had a little accident and the little explosion she caused, resulted in covering her house in the cloud of chemicals. Fortunately, they weren’t detrimental for human health, unfortunately the blast was big enough to alarm the neighbors and to make two vigilante show up at her door. Batman and Robin took it upon themselves to inspect the place, since the cloud was green – the same color as the fear toxin, so they had reasons to believe Crane was involved in whatever happened. When they saw a little girl, only a few years younger than Robin (Dick at the time) they were shocked. Or at least, Dick was, since Bruce would never resort to something so petty as “shock.” After a long conversation, batman was ready to leave, but surprisingly Dick opposed to the idea making a point of why Y/N mustn’t be left alone, and what could happen to her and her extraordinary skills in the foster care. Somehow, this was convincing enough for Bruce to take the girl under his wing. After all, she could have been useful.
They revealed their secret identities to her and quickly figured that she would be the best imaginable addition to the team. Even if she wasn’t interested in field op and was not qualified for that, her behind the desk work was invaluable. She put hours and hours of work to create chemicals and mixtures for Dick and Bruce to use on patrol. She came up with the antidote to Ivy’s poisons. She developed and enhanced the gadgets. And yet, her mission and purpose was still to be fulfilled. Slowly, the bats started to call her “The Chemist.” Tacky enough to keep her safe.
She stayed when Dick left and became Nightwing.
She was there when Jason was appointed new Robin.
She wanted to leave when he was killed by the Joker. It was too much for a fifteen year old girl who was infatuated with the boy. Even if she never cried. Never. After all that happened to Todd she became cold, a bit vicious, more guarded than before. If it was anyone else, Bruce would get concerned about the risk of her becoming a sociopath, but Y/n never showed any sign of falling into mental illness. If anything, she became more focused, more observant, more vigilant, more dead-seton defeating all the Arkham freaks running around Gotham. With silent weapon – poison, toxin, whatever. For two years she was distant and unapproachable by anyone, except Dick and Alfred. The situation changed when Tim arrived at the manor. His observational skills, workaholism and insight were perfect complement to Y/N’s ambition and passion. They became the best of friends, forming a real brother – sister bond. The one she never had before or after. Damian who came last, accepted her, but they were both struggling to open up to one another.
She was finally getting though her past when magically, after five years some new villain appeared in Gotham.
“Red Hood?” she frowned “but isn’t it what Joker used to call himself before?”
“Yes.” Bruce nodded
“So?”
“So? “ now the Batman was frowning, girl’s condescending words did not fit in the situation.
“What do we do? Do we  use any of my mixtures on him? Do we tranquilize him? What’s the big plan, Bat?”
“Me and dick are coming after him. You’re staying here.”
“What’s new?”
“We’ll let you know if need for any of your toxins arises….”
The rest of the story is probably known to all of you. You know, the Lazarus Pit, the resurrection and the dramatic exposure of Red Hood’s real identity – Jason Todd himself. Only he was not himself, at least not the one she knew. He was more aggresive, more violent and unpredictable. And even more emotional then before.
One night, when she was walking home from work he just grabbed her from the street (of course scaring the shit out of her) and in some crazy, angry, unhinged words confessed to being in love with her. And then he kissed her.
But she was smarter than fall for him again and fought against her own heart. After all, being a chemist she knew and saw better than anyone what was the effect of Lazarus Waters on his organism. And from then both Y/N and Jason were dragged into crazy circle of pushing and pulling each other away.
Up to the point where she couldn't take it any longer and left.
Leaving him heartbroken. Utterly defeated.
Sad part was that he broke her first.
But Y/N was not completely heartless. She still stayed in touch with the boys and promised them, that whenever they needed her she would always come. Even if the wound of parting ways with Jay was still fresh.

Clark Kent Across the Multiverse (Movie Concept)
And here is the third in our standalone trilogy, centered on a young Clark growing up and learning about his powers. This time, it's a crossover movie with the Supergirl and Power Girl of the Cinematic Universe, paving the way for a Crisis on Infinite Earths event:
We start out back at Clark’s home in Smallville, as his parents throw him a birthday for his eighteenth birthday. Lois is there, now his girlfriend, and Chloe, Pete, and Lana are all in attendance, Krypto running around and being a happy dog. They talk about his plans now that they’re about to graduate and he mentions that he and Lois both have a paid internship at the Daily Planet, and have saved up for an apartment in the city.
The next day, Clark visits his old friend Leslie in the hospital, still comatose from her run-in with the Parasite two years before, her skin still a grayish blue. Clark talks to her, confessing to her that he was the hero who saved her all those years ago but failed to save her parents, and apologizes to her that he wasn’t able to save her the second time. He touches her hand as he goes, just a little bit of his energy passing into her.
As he goes out and meets up with Lois, strange things happen at the hospital, Leslie’s eyes shifting around, as the lights and machinery flicker and objects start to float around the room. Clark and Lois are right in the middle of tossing a frisbee with Krypto when a loud explosion rocks the part, and both Clark and Krypto are nearly debilitated by a loud buzzing. Lois holds Krypto while Clark races to see what happened.
He arrives to see the hospital in flames, the entire ward where Leslie had been exploded. A strange figure entirely made of electricity rises from the smoke. Her eyes fall on Clark, recognizing him and saying “You!” Clark, believing her to have killed his friend, goes after the lightning person, trying to attack her, but finding her invulnerable to his attacks. She shocks him with a lot of volts, enough to actually do damage to him. Their battle leads them away from the hospital, towards a power plant, where Clark tries to overload her the way he did the Parasite. He manages to do it, just as reality seems to warp around him for a second, and the electric person vanishes into thin air.
He returns to the hospital to find that Leslie is gone, everything that had been in her room disintegrated. He cries out in despair, Krypto and Lois arriving to comfort him. Meanwhile, Leslie Willis finds herself tumbling through a void of twisting shapes and colors, her mind slowly coming back to itself as her body regains some amount of form. As she falls, she sees strange images, of worlds like her own, but with slight differences to each. Here we possibly have lots of cameos of other renditions of Superman and DC universes, as well as one where she sees herself, surrounded by her parents and siblings alive and well.
She finally lands in a strange void, where a machine floats on a chunk of rock, a strange man in an owl costume trying to work on it. The man introduces himself as Owlman, the same from the Supergirl movie, and played by the Batman actor from said cinematic universe. He tells her that his machine was meant to open a doorway through the multiverse, but thanks to some meddlers, the machine malfunctioned and was pulled through its own doorway, taking him with it. He theorizes that because of her electrical powers, she was pulled into the multiverse at the same moment from her own universe. He makes a deal with her that if she will use her powers to traverse universes and gather supplies for him, he will cure her and send her back to her own universe or any universe she wants.
A few days later, Clark is working on his farm, feeling miserable and thinking about Leslie. As he works, he is surprised when two identical twins, both blonde and wearing strange superhero costumes show up on the farm, saying they’re looking for Clark, but not recognizing him as such. After a moment of confusion, one of the women swears and calls out for someone named Mr. Mxyzptlk. She explains that she comes from another universe, the cousin of that world’s version of Clark, and she’d just come from an adventure where an imp had transported her to another universe and she had met her own variant, the other girl. The imp had been supposed to send her home, but apparently had sent them here instead.
Clark agrees to help them figure out a way back if this imp never showed up to explain himself. Lois digs up a bunch of articles about the concept of parallel universes, and is a little weirded out when Kara talks about how they are friends in her world. Kara II mentions she got in a fight with her version once. Finally, Mr. Mxyzptlk shows up, telling them sorry for the mixup, but saying that their fixing of the Ultraman problem resulted in a new multiversal threat that they now had to fix. He pops into existence a control device for them which will let them traverse universes and track the threat, because he hasn’t quite been able to find its exact location. Before they can talk about it, he pushes Clark and the two Karas through a portal.
After a similar tumbling scene, Clark and the Karas find themselves in a strange multiversal void, with flashes from other universes appearing in the sky. Kara decides she’s not playing Mxy’s game and tries to use it to open a portal back to her own universe. After two failed attempts, Mxy appears on the device’s screen, apologizing again and saying that he felt it prudent to put a blocker on their three individual universes until the job was finished. Kara yells at Mxy, but he disappears from the screen.
For the moment, they decide to look for the threat, opening a portal to a universe where the threat was detected. They walk through and find themselves in what seems to be an over-the-top supervillain’s lair with a giant nuclear collider in the center. Kara I and Clark find themselves caught in kryptonite traps, as the villain appears, what looks like a skull in a space suit, the helmet glowing green. He introduces himself as the Atomic Skull, and no matter how many super people show up, they’ll never stop him from unleashing a nuclear blast powerful enough to wipe out the whole world. Kara and Clark verbally spar with him, questioning his plan as such a blast would destroy the planet, leaving him with nothing to rule.
This discussion distracts the villain enough for Power Girl to sneak around, find the controls to the Kryptonite traps, and release her companions. The three heroes battle the villain, taking him out fairly easily. In a last ditch effort, he tries to detonate his bomb, only to find that a key component has been removed. The lightning figure appears again, this time with a full body, which Clark recognizes as Leslie, but with gray skin and blue hair that’s become spiked with electricity. Before he can say anything, she vanishes in a burst of electricity, taking the component with her.
After the Atomic Skull is restrained, our heroes pursue Leslie back to the void world, detecting her there somewhere. Clark tells the Karas about who she is and what happened to her, and they promise him, they’ll help get her back. They chase Livewire through several different worlds, each some reference to some version of Superman, before finally landing in an animated world where everything seems to be based in the 1950s, finding that world’s version of Superman, a big cartoonish “defender of justice.” Neither Kara is particularly impressed, while Clark gets to see himself as a genuine hero.
We get a short sequence of them exploring his world, and highlighting some of the most corny parts, questioning his story about his first nemesis turning into a white gorilla. Eventually, Leslie arrives, attacking his version of Lex Luthor, to steal from him a “dimensional blaster” he had just completed. Both Clarks and both Karas challenge her, but she electrifies most of them, leaving her and Clark to face off alone. Clark pleads with her to come back, but she refuses, telling him he ruined her life and that she’s going to get a new one, planning to take over the life of the happy Leslie she saw. Clark says that she’ll just be destroying that Leslie’s life, but she ignores him, taking the blaster and managing to get away.
Leslie returns to Owlman and the machine. Owlman uses the components to complete the machine, and Livewire smiles excitedly, ready to start a new life. She ends up being betrayed by Owlman though, who shoots her with a device he’d had her steal that would drain her of power. He then begins activating his machine again, proclaiming that he will finish what he and Ultraman started. A weakened Leslie crawls to the machine, placing her hand on it and drawing power out of it, recharging herself way more than before. She turns on Owlman and disintegrates him before he can attack again.
She then uses the machine to rip a hole to the dimension where she was happy, planning to travel through the machine and take over the body of her counterpart. The Clarks and the Karas find her and her machine, rushing to try to stop her. 50s Superman tries to stop the beam with “the power of justice” and simply gets blasted. The two Karas work together to try to stop the machine while Clark and Leslie face off.
Clark tries again and again to get through to Leslie, but she won’t listen. She blasts the Karas away from her machine as the machine starts to become unstable, ripping dimensions apart as it tries to open a permanent doorway. She only relents when she sees the other Leslie and her parents being ripped away from each other as their universe falls apart. She helps Clark destroy the machine, depriving herself of her powers for good.
After the machine is gone and the multiverse goes back to normal, Leslie breaks down in the middle of the void. Clark lands beside her, where he genuinely apologizes for his failure to save her parents that day. Leslie accepts his apology and hugs him, fully letting go of her repressed emotions. Mr. Mxyzptlk finally reappears, snapping his fingers and saying everyone can go back home now. Clark lets Leslie head back through to their world, while he stays behind to say goodbye to the Karas and the other Clark. While they are doing so, the portal becomes unstable and vanishes, their device not working anymore either. They ask Mxy what’s going on, and he says, “Oop, I guess you guys didn’t fix it fast enough to convince him,” then disappears before elaborating.
In a post-credits scene, we see Mxy kneeling before the Anti-Monitor, clearly terrified of him, and trying to point out that they did fix the problem, but the Anti-Monitor ignores him.
If any of you remember the full plan I laid out a while back, this leads straight into Crisis on Infinite Earths, resulting in the destruction of this Clark's universe, erasing Lois, Krypto, Leslie, Jonathan, Martha, and everyone else from this series, leaving Clark as the only survivor and setting him up to become the Cinematic Universe's Superboy-Prime.
What do you think? Would you watch it?

Gotham Knights Season One, Episode One: Pilot
Air date: March 14, 2023
I'm sorry, but Turner Hayes sounds like the name of a genderbent version of Taylor Swift.
Tumblr media
(He's grumpy because I said that.)
Anyway, read on for my review of the first episode of Gotham Knights! Not that you're really missing much, but spoilers below the cut!
Synopsis
Harper, Cullen, and Duela break into Wayne Tower because they've been hired to steal something. They get there, realize they've been set up and Bruce Wayne has been murdered, pushed out a window, and revealed as Batman. Yikes. So they run and manage to escape. Harvey Dent tells Turner Hayes his adopted dad is dead, Turner is sad he's dead and mad Bruce didn't tell him he was Batman, yadda yadda. The cops go after Harper, Cullen, and Duela, arrest them, and question them. Turner wants to find out who hired them, so he gets Stephanie to use the Batcomputer to hack into the bank records to see who paid him. Turns out, the money came from his account! So about this time, the cops have figured that out and come arrest Turner and throw him into jail with Harper, Cullen, and Duela. The four get put in a transport van and head to prison, but before they get there, they escape. The cops who were moving them were dirty, though, and so they're about to kill the kids to clean up the whole Bruce-Wayne-murder mess when Robin swoops in to save them. Then they all head back to the Batcave where Duela tells them the creepy Court of Owls poem. Yay!
Tumblr media
Characters
Turner Hayes: Dead parents (twice). Sad Bruce died, kinda
Stephanie Brown: Computer whiz. Has sex.
Harper Row: Will sacrifice herself for her brother.
Cullen Row: Is transgender. Can pick locks. Has successfully impersonated two (2) cops.
Duela: Hates her father. Hates authority. Is fluent in violence.
Carrie Kelly: Is Robin. Exists. That's about it.
Review
Now, I don't really know much about the comic versions of these characters, except for Stephanie and my knowledge of her is limited to her appearances in stories focused on other characters, so I'll be reviewing them completely divorced from their source material. (Except for Turner, because he doesn't have source material. He has been immaculately conceived specifically for this show.)
Okay, so maybe I would have cared about Turner Hayes a little more if we had actually gotten to see him interact at all with Bruce Wayne, but we only get to see Bruce when he's splattered on the pavement so, uh, there's no emotional pull at my heartstrings to feel bad for this kid. It's like he's trying to be a self-insert character and yet he's failing sooo miserably because he's kind of bland. I really hate criticizing an actor's performance, but I wasn't impressed by Oscar Morgan. His acting just felt really dull and restrained to me, but then this show felt kind of dull, so that might have just been the director? I don't know. I'm an expert in talking about things I know nothing about, not an expert in filmology or whatever. I'm hoping that it's just first episode woes and next episode we'll see better from him and his character.
What to say about Stephanie Brown? She's friends with Turner and she's an expert hacker. That's about it, to be honest. She does have slightly more personality than Turner, but she got less screen time. She's basically just a generic cutout copy of every other teen girl character that's on TV. She was trying to have sex on Turner's couch, so bold move her, I guess. I like her friendship with Turner, and as long as they don't try to turn it into an awkward "I'm a boy youre a girl let's kiss" kind of romantic situation, I think their friendship could be a strong point in this show.
I don't think Cullen actually did anything interesting the entire episode besides using walkie-talkies to send the cops to a different stairwell and telling Harvey Dent to shove it with his performative allyship (which was an absolutely correct thing to assume and good for Cullen for not falling for the good-cop routine).
Harper was kind of the leader of her, Duela, and Cullen. I say kind of because Duela pretty much does whatever she wants, but it seemed like when there was a decision to be made, Harper was the one making it. She was protective of Cullen but didn't seem to particularly care for Duela, which, understandable, since Duela was the one who got them the job that ended up framing them for Bruce Wayne's murder. I'm hoping we see Harper in more of a leadership position in the group because if Turner is the leader they're screwed.
Now, my favorite character was Duela, because she was the only one who was actually entertaining! She was by far the most violent of all the kids, consistently starting fights (and winning them), she was smart, as evidenced by her asking for a lawyer when she got arrested, and then talking Harvey and the cop guy in circles. She's noticeable, which was pretty important in this bland milquetoast show.
Carrie Kelly is Robin and she has trig with Turner and that's about it for her. I'm really hoping for more of her in the next episode. I'm really hoping for more of anything, at this point.
Last but not least, Harvey Dent! Misha Collins himself! He's kind of weak sauce! (Harvey, not Misha). He's upset because Bruce died. He says that he's basically Turner's uncle. He could have shown a little more emotion over Bruce's death if he was close enough to Bruce to basically call him his brother, but nope! There was no emotion there. I think this show might be allergic to emotion, honestly.
Somehow it felt like the episode was rushed yet nothing happened. Everything felt unimportant. Every plot point felt like a box that was being checked or an ingredient added that would hopefully add up to a very delicious cake. Unfortunately, the cake did not turn out well. The literal Batman died and the show was just like, oh well :)
Tumblr media
Anyway, I'm gonna watch the next episode because I have a feeling this show is like an airplane crash on top of a train wreck and I just can't wait for what happens next! My standards are pretty low when it comes to shows; my most important criteria is Be Entertaining. If you can't hold my interest because watching paint dry would be a more fun way to spend my time, then I'm going to move on. I'm enough of a Batfam stan to keep watching, but it had better get a move on before I get bored and move on to something else (like the nine hundred other shows I have on my watchlist. And yes, I did have fun cutting out the images).

Secrets Are To Be Revealed
A/n: I had an ask for anon and I accidentally deleted it (I am SO sorry!!) This is a shorter story so hopefully you like it.
Request : The reader having powers, fighting crime basically being a hero. Marrying batman when he adopted dick having twin boys with him later on, then finding out about Talia Al Ghul and Damian and the interaction the reader will have with Talia. I’m pretty sure they asked for a black reader as well. (Again I am SO VERY SORRY!!) I hope this post finds you!
Warnings : Rape, Implied Murder, Emotions
That was good, right? You’ll find more here -> Masterlist Mega List
Groaning as you put your suit away. Waving Bruce towards to come to you. You lean on a nearby table waiting patiently for him. “You seem a little off.” He stands a few inches away from you. “You were reckless tonight.” You scoff and shake your head at him. “Define reckless. Jumping off a skyscraper without a plan is reckless but jumping off a skyscraper with a plan is dangerous. I see where you’re coming from but I had a plan.” You inch in closer, silently requesting a kiss. “That plan was flimsy.” He turns away from your attempt, walking off to the bat computer. You stood in disbelief with your hands crossed over your chest. “I thought it was a pretty good plan.” You mutter, going up to the manor to check on your children.
Going into their rooms, you find them sound asleep. After changing your clothes, you go down to the kitchen for a late night snack. The sound of the television, redirecting your actions. “Dick? Why are you still up?” You lean over. No reply. “Dick?” You rush over the couch, to find him knocked out. Breathing a sigh of relief, you grab a blanket and drape it over him. “Goodnight.” You whisper, placing a feather light kiss on his forehead. Turning off the tv, you continue your path to the kitchen. Grabbing a snack from the pantry, you sit at the island. “Y/n, are you alright?” You shake your head. “Alfred, do you think I did something wrong tonight?” You glance at the moonlight, seeping through the kitchen window. “No, I think nothing of the sorts. I think you handled the situation quite well.”
“If you’re only asking me because Bruce is distant. The answer you’re looking for is, he isn’t mad at you.” He adds given your silence. You give Alfred a smile but it slowly turns into a frown. “Who could he be mad at?” He swiftly walks away at your question. “Alfred?” You stare off into darkness, not for long as the door bell rings. Quickly, getting to the door before they make anymore noise. “Hello-” Your gaze drops to a sleeping baby. Looking out you see a figure half-way off the property. Grabbing the basket the baby was in you head towards them. “Uhm, is this your baby?” You tap them on the shoulder. They roughly turn around, grabbing your hand. “No. I do not associate with that thing.” Your jaw drops at her words. “How could you say that? If this is your baby you shouldn’t-”
“ITS NOT MINE! KILL IT IF YOU HAVE TO! I DON’T WANT IT!” She raises her voice at you. “I-I..” You’re left speechless as she walks away. You look down to the now crying baby. Bring him inside, roughly closing the door behind you. Taking him out the basket and laying him down on the couch. As you looked at him, your eyes began to burn, tears on the brink of falling. “Y/n, put the baby back.” Bruce’s figure firmly stands at the door. “w-what?” You look to him, your voice cracking. Getting to your feet, you stand before him. “Put the baby back, I don’t want you to be caught up in this mess.” He pulls you in the hallway. “What mess, Bruce? I’d usually step back and let you handle things but a baby is involved.”
“I can’t just leave a child out in the world alone. I quite frankly can’t do that to anyone!” Tears trickle down your face. “Do you know who’s baby that is? Talia Al Ghul. Now, I don’t want to choose but if its between you. I’ll have to make a decision.” He watched as each tear glided down your face and fell on your chest. “You’re mad at yourself.” Your lip quivered. “He’s yours, isn’t he?” He was about to speak, defend himself but you cut him off. “It’s okay. I understand. I understand that I’m probably not enough for you but you know where I come from and what I’ve been through. I refuse to put a child through anything like what happened to me, when I can do something about it.” You caress his cheek and suck up your tears. “Even if that child isn’t mine. I’ll treat them as my own.”
You turn away from him and hold the baby in your arms. Taking him to your room. You rest him on two pillows. Gently playing with his hair. The tears rush down your face resembling a waterfall. You place both your hands over your eyes, trying to hide the tears but failing miserably. “Y/n, can I talk to you?” You rest your hands in your lap, looking up to Bruce. He slowly sits down next to you. “I didn’t know.” He looks into your glossy eyes and all you can sense is truth. “I didn’t want to hurt you. But I ended up doing that anyway. I wasn’t willing to have that baby...” He trails off. You get what he’s trying to say and hug him. Resting your head on his shoulder and holding him tight. “I’m not going to attempt to relate to your experience. I still love you.” You smile as you slowly release him from your hold. Your eyes widen in surprise, he kissed you. It felt as if he thought you wouldn’t love him anymore, as if you would have left him as soon as you found out. But that couldn’t be farther than the truth.

Mommy Was Kissing Batman 1/2
Bruce Wayne/Batman X Wife!Reader
Words:1535
Warnings:heavy angst, suggestive content
Batman and Batmom are separated after he kept one too many secrets from his wife. After Batmom is needed at the police station she asks her husband for help. Their four year old daughter sees something that scares her. Batman's lips locked on her mommy's unknown to whom is behind the mask.
Bruce's P. O. V
I sat on my chair in the Bat-cave. I hold Y/N's wedding ring that she threw at me. She took our daughter with her. I deserved such. I didn't tell her that, Jay was alive. It took time, she forgave me. I didn't deserve that. Then when she discovered I knew, Grayson was alive. She threw her ring at me giving it back and threw word's that stabbed me to my core. I've avoided our bedroom completely. I don't even want to think of stepping into my little girl's room. I am so scared she'll never forgive me. I feel vulnerable from the nightmares that plague my slumber.
Y/N's P. O. V
I sigh deeply staring at my phone. I had just got a call from, Jim. He had gotten injured and is off duty for the rest of the day. I am needed back at the station. I know, Bruce can be here within seconds. Though I am so angry. D/N, misses him. I take a shaky breath and call my husband. He swiftly answered.
-"are you and D/N safe? Are you both ok?"
"yes we're OK" I quickly answered feeling a deep feeling that he still loves me "look this isn't easy.. Jim called me and said their shorthanded at the station" I sigh deeply this is so hard "I'll only be gone for a few hour's.. Can you watch D/N?"
-"I'll be there in five"
"ok" I swiftly hang up before any conversation could go further
"mommy.." I turn seeing my little girl rubbing her eyes and holding her stuffed bat toy
"hey sweetheart.. How are you? Did you get a good night sleep?"
She nodded yawning I pick my sleepy daughter up.
"are we going home today?" she asked with a begging eyes that make my heart sink.
"not today sweetie but guess what?"
"what?" she asked with a little smile
"your daddy is coming to spend the day with you!" I cooed
"he is?! Really! I'm gonna wear my dress!"
I chuckled "what dress?"
"the dress daddy said that I looked like a princess!" she exclaimed
I laugh at her amusement and kiss her cheek. As I put her down she ran into her room. I step to my room and shut the door sighing. It's in this moment Bruce would steal a kiss from me. I dress into my police uniform. As I finish dressing. I hear the door bell ring. I step out of my bedroom seeing my little girl in her dress. She was adorable.
"is that daddy? I missed him so much!"
"I believe so" I said
I open the door seeing my husband. He softly smiled to me. I look away from him to our daughter.
"daddy!!" she exclaimed "you're here!"
"hello my dear" he picks her up and she squeezes his neck. I see Bruce's face soften
"I'll be back soon" I kiss my daughter's forehead "bye sweetheart"
"bye mommy" she said with a sweet smile
I glance to Bruce wanting to kiss him. I can't do this. I turn to leave.
"Y/N" he said with gentle tone
I turn facing him with a, saddened smile "yes" I asked
"stay safe"
I nodded and left my husband and, daughter. After taking a drug cartel down I stood in my office. It was a large for being the Assistant chief of police. I was given the private office after my promotion. I look at the picture frames. One picture of Grayson and I when he was twelve. I remember that day perfectly he had begged 'Aww c'mon Y/N well have fun!' I answered 'uh no you'll have fun getting me flustered in front of Bruce'. For two people to know each others cores and feel attracted to each other. Then to attempt to not fall in love with that person and then you realize, you see that you have already failed miserably. I haven't seen Grayson in 6 months and 5 day's. He wasn't mine by blood but I loved him just the same. I see a, reflection on my window. My heart physically jumps, and my breath hitches. I fear my eyes are deceiving me. I lift my head seeing glass double doors and then gasp breathing in shock seeing my little boy. I quickly stood up and rush to him. He opens the door and steps inside. I put my shaking hands on his cheeks.
"m-mom-m" he brokenly said
I began to stutter. I put pressure on his shoulders and gently shook my head.
"oh, son!" I tightly hugged his neck wanting to cry
He wraps his arms around me "it's good to see you Mom"
"oh Grayson" I mumbled "dammit" I kiss his head running my fingers through his hair, I cup his cheeks looking at his face "are you trying to give me grey hairs?!"
"I'm so sorry Mom" he said with a brittle voice, my heart sinks
To hear him say 'mom' to me again is something I was so scared I'd never hear from him again. I hold him close and gently rock him side to side, as if he was still my little boy. He kisses my temple.
"don't--" I feel my words choking as I nearly sob "e-ever" I couldn't continue but he knew what I meant
He nods "I know" he said genuinely hurt "please don't hate me or Bruce for keeping my--" he stammered with a heavy sigh "I know you're so angry"
I lift my head seeing his tears. I use my thumb to wipe his tears away.
"Richard Grayson! I will never hate you. I will always love you, ok?" he nodded sniffing "I was angry that you did such a thing" I admitted "but I forgive you because I love you. Bruce and I will.." I stammer for a moment "will figure it out another day" I sighed
I kiss his head his hands on my shoulders. My heart breaks seeing him so distraught, though warms to have him within my grasp. Hour's later Grayson returns home to Bludhaven. I text Bruce I'm on my way. I go to the place where I stay now. It wasn't home. I open the door and steps inside. I shut the door behind me. I see Bruce sitting on the couch with little D/N sleeping in his strong arms. It was absolutely heartwarming. He softly smiled to me. Dammit.
"how long as she been asleep for?"
"half an hour.. How was work?" he whispered
"it was good. Grayson came to see, me" I bitterly said
"Y/N" he sighed
I whisper in a harsh tone "no! No you're not going to be able to say anything or do anything and just magically make this all right"
"I know I broke the trust you had in me Y/N. I broke a vow to you"
I feel my heart beating fast and eyes shake. I shake my head. I instantly go to our wedding. I want to kiss him and forget.
"I can't do this" I choke nearly crying
I step out of the living room to the bedroom. I shut the door behind me.
"dammit" I cursed to myself with a stutter
The night fell and I knew my husband was out there risking his life. I step onto the fire escape my little girl sound asleep in her bed. I look in the distance seeing on the building, Batman. I sigh dammit I miss him. I shut my eyes sighing. I count to 40. I open my eyes Bruce standing next to me. I take a shaky breath. I stare away from him with my eyes shaking. I don't want to cry in front of him.
"Y/N I was trying to protect Grayson and the less people who knew he was alive the safer he would be" he takes a deep breath "I miss you" he quavered.. Bruce didn't ever quaver because of me, unless it was a nightmare "I want my daughter and wife to come back home" he finished his voice genuinely hurt
I began to cry missing the comfort I feel from him. The love we make. Sharing each others space. The sweet kisses that were never long enough. Seeing him smile. Him making me smile. He was protecting our little boy.
"no more secrets" I demanded
"I promise"
I forgive him. He never broke a promise to me. I shake my head. I step to him and wrap my arms around his neck. I lock my lips to his. He deepens the kiss. Wall kissing me he takes my left hand, with my ring finger. He places the proof of our marriage among my finger.
Damian's P. O. V
I am rudely awoken to the sound of my phone ringing. I grunted. I look seeing my true mother's contact. I swiftly answer truly missing her. I hear soft crys recognizing it's my dear little sister. My heart racing. Is she hurt? Is she safe? I must hurry to her.
I swiftly demand "D/N where are you?"
-"D-Dami, mommy was kissing Batman!!"

Marinette didn’t need to turn around to know they were snooping. She could hear all three of them shuffling around her apartment. She bit down on the inside of her cheek. As long as they didn’t find the Miraculous Box or Tikki she would be fine. And those were both pretty well hidden. It’d be fine.
She hummed to herself as she pulled down baking equipment, then looked over her shoulder to figure out where they were.
Nightwing was looking suspiciously at her bed, where she had left her fake version of herself. He glanced at her and she raised an eyebrow.
“There was three people outside my window, did you want me not to take precautions?”
The man looked away without saying anything.
Red Hood messed with her window lock, eyes narrowed, then he typed something in his phone as he mumbled to himself. She barely caught the words “buy new” and rolled her eyes.
Red Robin was closest, rifling through her kitchen cupboards for... something. He set a box on the counter and then continued looking for something, eyebrows scrunched in irritation.
She read the label of her instant coffee. “Oh! The good coffee is...” She leaned past him to pull it out from where it was hidden in her spice section (she didn’t want to be tempted, it was only for when guests were over). She handed it over and he beamed.
“Thanks!”
She nodded and started pulling things down to bake. She could feel all three of them wander closer and looked back at their interested expressions.
“Um... can I help you?”
“Whatcha making?” Asked Red Hood, peering over her shoulder to try and guess.
She glanced down at the stuff she’d gathered. She would have thought that the bag of brown sugar would have given away that she was making cookies, but she supposed this just put another notch in her ‘rich kid’ theory.
“Cookies. Anyone have allergies?”
They all shook their heads and she checked over her ingredients before starting to add --.
“Can we help?” Asked Red Robin.
She set down the flour she was holding and gave a wary glance back at them. “Do any of you actually know how to help?”
They glanced at each other. She was asking a rich kid, an ex-circus kid, and an ex-orphan if they knew how to bake.
“Yep,” said Red Robin.
“Of course,” said Nightwing.
“Obviously,” said Red Hood.
She sighed. “You have no idea, huh?”
“Yep.”
“Of course.”
“Obviously.”
She rolled her eyes and leaned back against the counter. They were very clearly bored, there was little to do in her apartment, and she supposed it wouldn’t be bad to get some help...
She set back the chocolate chips and brown sugar. “Fine. I guess we’ll make sugar cookies,” she muttered.
She started searching through her things for measuring cups. Did she even have any? She never used them, why would --? She pulled out some red ones spotted with black and blinked. She didn’t remember unpacking those, didn’t even remember buying them...
Her eyes flickered to where Tikki was, and she saw the little kwami give her a small smile before disappearing under the covers again.
She smiled and handed them over. “Great. I need someone to make frosting, someone to cream the ingredients together, and someone to measure things.”
This was an easy recipe. There was no way they could get this wrong.
~
How could they mess up so badly.
She hadn’t expected her usual caliber of cookies, but this was ridiculous!
She had looked away for one second to show Red Robin how her coffee maker worked and now the batter was dry and the frosting had split.
She rested her head in her hands. She vaguely considered giving up her secret identity just to give them all a quick punch, but disregarded it when she brought her hands down.
They were clearly trying so hard. They were failing. Miserably. But they were trying.
Marinette discarded the idea of ‘accidentally’ dropping the batter. It would allow her to make a new one and lessen suspicions of her being Ladybug, but she definitely would have felt bad.
She looked down at the bowls and rested her hands on her hips, looking them over as she tried to figure out where they had gone wrong.
She chewed on the inside of her cheek and started messing with the dough. It didn’t look quite overworked, so it had to be a recipe problem. She started opening and checking all her ingredients, and sighed softly when she opened the egg carton. She added the last egg they needed in with a small frown. It wouldn’t be her best work, but it should be decent. She handed it back to Red Hood to mix.
Her eyes found their way to the frosting next. All her ingredients had been the same temperature when she’d given them to Nightwing, so that meant it could only be how long he mixed it. She set it back in the mixer and pressed start.
Aw, they were all blushing in embarrassment, how cute.
After a few more minutes everything was done. She rolled out the dough and, after a bit of searching, handed over cookie cutters.
They looked at her confusedly.
“Well, obviously, you have to decorate them. Get to work.”
The three vigilantes eyed each other warily, then the box in her hands.
A grin split across her face. “Any day now, there’s only so many good ones.”
She hastily set the cutters on the table and backed up. She forced back a laugh as they a made grab for the box. There was a blur of colors and limbs as they all shoved each other around, trying their hardest to get the ‘good ones’.
Marinette had the good ones. They didn’t need to know that.
She watched the chaos for a little bit and then looked at the frosting. She should really get to coloring it, but what colors was she to use? Should she just do the colors of their costumes? Or did they have specific things they wanted to make?
She turned around to ask this and raised a eyebrow as she watched Red Robin throw flour at Nightwing. This would have been all fine and good -- she had more than enough -- if Nightwing hadn’t ducked.
There was silence as she wiped the flour from her face.
She gave a long, tired sigh. Her lips parted as if to say something.
Then she grabbed a handful of flour and threw it right back.
She ducked as the fighting resumed, then glanced at what they had made. She bit the inside of her cheek again. She didn’t want to mess it up, it had been too much effort to make for her to abandon it like that, and she made a dive for the parchment paper.
She squeaked as flour was poured down the back of her shirt, and whipped around to see a somewhat sheepish looking Red Hood. This look was replaced with fear quickly, though, as she tackled him to the ground.
He struggled limply. She wasn’t trying to actually pin him down, but he wasn’t exactly trying to get up either. He was scared of hurting her. How cute.
She pulled the flour from his grip and smiled cheekily as she covered his eyes and dumped it on his face.
She rolled off of him as he sputtered and brandished her new weapon.
Red Robin offered her a hand up. She glanced at it and grinned as she took it. An alliance had been made.
An egg hit the back of her new ally’s head and they whipped around to find Nightwing grinning at them.
“Cover for me?” She said.
“Why do I get the feeling that I’m not getting a choice?”
“‘Cause you’re not,” she chirped.
He sighed as he reluctantly lunged towards Nightwing to distract him.
She grabbed the dough and frosting and quickly hid it away. The moment the cupboard door closed she turned around to see Red Hood, smiling cheekily as he held up a bottle of milk.
She rolled away in an attempt to stay dry, but it wasn’t enough. Now there was milk covering most of her legs.
She shook out her soggy pants awkwardly before running to Red Robin’s side. “C’mon,” she mumbled, grabbing him by the arm and pulling him away from what would have been an egg to the face. He grabbed as many things from the counter as he could as they passed and she glanced around quickly.
She jumped over the bed -- Tikki flew up her shirt to hide -- and started peeling off sheets and blankets for a fort.
He raised an eyebrow and she mumbled a quiet: “For cover.”
He grinned appreciatively. “Smart.”
“Thanks.”
She glanced at her friend and they locked eyes for a second. They ducked to the floor as she began building up their walls, and he worked at keeping the others away in the meantime.
He held up a spoon and she raised an eyebrow. He gave a short wink before using it to launch some flour at an advancing Nightwing.
She grinned. “Smart!”
“Thanks!”
When light finally filtered through her window, her room was utter devastation. Nightwing had gotten himself locked in the closet somehow. The two allies high-fived over the body of Red Hood, who was completely coated in random ingredients.
She smiled and pressed a kiss to Red Robin’s cheek. “Come back tonight, I’ll have some cookies made for you guys.”
Marinette grinned as she waved them all off, costumes still flecked with ingredients despite their best efforts to pat them off. They’d surely have a fun time explaining that to Batman.
She turned back to her room and sighed at the mess. Great. She picked up a mop.

Crack fic idea: Teenaged Bruce Wayne and Oliver Queen reluctantly working together while at summer camp to foil prepubescent Lex Luthor’s evil plans - buddy cop movie style.
Okay, I know this doesn’t work perfectly with canon, but hear me out:
Bruce and Oliver are around the same age and they were both pretty smart kids, even if they might not have shown their full potential back then because Bruce was still traumatized and already coming up with his Batman plans and Ollie was a rich kid with other interests.
But, Alfred of course knew what Bruce was capable of and at least tried to get him to socialise more and Oliver’s parents wanted their son to make something of himself, so one summer when Bruce and Ollie are about 14/15 they both get signed up for some fancy science program (you know, like summer camp but more expensive and focused on learning something useful).
Bruce of course is his usual mopy teenage self, doesn’t really care about making friends and only stays at the camp because Alfred would be absolutely livid if he skipped out on it after the last time when he...doesn’t matter, Bruce knows better than to piss off Alfred so he resigns himself to a full summer of camp and being miserable surrounded by all those other teenagers.
Oliver takes better to the people aspect, he likes socialising, but working through the whole summer isn’t really his ideal vacation, so he sneaks out whenever he can and makes it very clear how little he cares for having to deal with science stuff in his free time.
As a result Bruce and Oliver obviously don’t hang out together, even if they already know each other from business meetings and galas their parents took them to in the past. No, they don’t even talk to each other until one kid in the camp starts to sow dissent and sabotage projects without ever getting caught or rousing suspicion.
Because you know who is just a few years younger than Bruce and Oliver and so interested in science that they got a scholarship to attend this camp but can’t stand for anyone else to have a better project than them?
That’s right, it’s Lex Luthor!
So I’m picturing Bruce in his usual manner observing something fishy or noticing that a highly unlikely number of projects mysteriously fail at the last second even though they seemed very promising before, so naturally his interest is piqued and he starts investigating.
Ollie on the other hand doesn’t so much put the pieces together at first but rather the girl he is trying to woo is devastated when her project doesn’t work and then he sees Bruce snooping around and in an act of chivalry he confronts Bruce because he thinks he had something to do with it.
Bruce of course refuses to tell Ollie anything at first, but when Ollie threatens to expose him in front of the whole camp he reluctantly tells him what he’s found out up to that point because if Alfred gets one more letter about him misbehaving he’ll be in so much trouble.
Cue the new dynamic duo gets on the case and while Bruce is deeply annoyed by Ollie most of the time, he is useful in talking to the other kids and maybe Bruce also enjoys not spending his days alone for once, even though he would never admit that.
Similarly, Ollie discovers that hey, using your brain can be pretty fun sometimes and even though Bruce is scowling at everyone all the time, once you get to know him he isn’t even all that bad. He swears the guy even made a joke once!
And while all this is going on twelve year old Lex Luthor is quietly fuming behind the scenes because how can it be that any of these rich, overpriviliged kids who are only here because their parents bought them in and not because they have anything in their heads keep foiling his plans to destroy the competition?
I just want hijinks and narrow escapes from the camp counselors during the night and Lex practically ripping his hair out because he can’t figure out who is stopping him at every turn.
In the end there is the obligatory big showdown at the end of summer science fair and when Lex finds out who has been foiling his plans the whole time he vows revenge but Bruce and Ollie just laugh at him, which is the reason why he hates them so much later on.
The summer is saved and even though no one else really knows what they did, Bruce and Ollie do, and just before they both get into their cars home they share a smile and maybe Bruce considers for the first time that having a partner in crime fighting might be a good idea and Ollie thinks that maybe his future can hold something more than simply following his parents footsteps and owning a company, and that is how they part, not knowing that in a few years they would meet again in the Justice League.

I think that most of us DC fans are aware of the fact that there are two sides to Dick Grayson when he interacts with people who are attracted him. Seductive as hell or as oblivious as little kid when they still think Santa is real. There is no in between.
He's either seductive and cunning, or a disaster bi who has no idea that either he nor other people are flirting.
Seductive Dick can lure in anyone using sweet words and fluid body movements. He knows how to get what he wants, when he wants it.
Oblivious Dick on the other hand probably walked right up to some dude who was checking him out and complimented him as he walked out the door, leaving the poor guy a blushing a sputtering mess.
Seductive Dick knows how to get information from criminals who won't respond to Batman or Red Hood's threats.
Oblivious Dick definitely accidentally seduced all of his coworkers and then tried to figure out why they all gave him chocolate for Valentine's Day.
Both versions have every single bat family member, titan, young justice member, and leaguer trying to rein him in and failing miserably.

Of Blood and Bonds - Chapter 5
"Father you know I respect you." Damian said and everyone at the dining table stilled as they were about to get up and leave. "But I must admit, as my brothers would say, you've majorly fucked up."
Bruce sighed. He had thought about that - had Alfred scold him for having benched Damian - for doing as Damian had said and taking out his anger about his own failures on his other children. But that didn't make this any easier.
"Damian I know you're mad I didn't tell you about your sister-"
"Oh this is not about that. Well not entirely. They are connected but this is not about Marinette alone." When no one spoke, he took it as his cue to continue.
"You saw in her files that there were some vague details about her being possessed by an akuma. Did you figure out what they are? Because I have an its not pretty. Actually, it's bad enough to warrant an intervention of the Justice League as a whole but my sister tells me that they were told not to waste the JL's time."
His youngest's face was worryingly blank. It reminded him of all the times he was set upon something and right now it seemed that his new focus was his older sister. Bruce supposed, he should be thankful that Damian's attention towards her was not of the murderous kind.
"What do you mean?" He made sure to keep his voice free from emotions.
"From what she told me, they asked for help several times until someone from the JL dismissed their problems as a prank, a joke without any investigation or anything about their claims."
Someone was going to be hearing from Batman soon.
"And what about the akumas?"
"It's enough to need more than one member of the JL. I've see a video of one of the attacks, it's...horrifying and according to Marinette it was one of the tamer ones."
"Do you have them?" His sons all looked annoyed and he knew they were probably thinking that he was letting superhero work take precedence over his family again. But that was how he worked. He didn't know what to do about the situation with Marinette but this - this could find a solution to.
"There are videos of them online."
Damian seemed to take that as his cue to get up and walk away.
"I'll play the videos in the cave."
~
Marinette hadn't necessarily had the best time in the last years but one thing he had definitely learned was who were her real friends and who weren't.
It was before the worst month of her life but things had already started taking a turn for the worse for her at that point.
Her so called friends all started to believe Lila over her, started to - as she now knew - emotionally blackmail her, only gave her the time of the day whenever she did something for them or to scold her for whatever she apparently did for poor Lila.
She was oh so tired and every second she wasted made her feel more guilty.
Hawkmoth had come back more enraged than ever after the Miracle Queen incident and she had done the mistake of lending the more Miraculous out.
She had given Kagami and Luka both different Miraculous for them to fight alongside her because they both have strong spirits and a good resonance with several kwamis but... let's just say that she would never forgive herself for what they had to experience because of her.
In desperation, she tried to find other holders that she hadn't used before who resonated but that...that had been a huge mistake. She almost lost more than one Miraculous that day.
She was their Guardian. And that day she vowed that she would die first before letting something happen to the Kwamis.
She was fighting alone now. Chat Noir...Chat Noir was even more pushy about revealing themselves after the the chaos that had occured. He hindered more than he helped, never showing up on time.
Things had come to head one day as she walked into class. The whole incident had involved a bunch of sheep and a ripped sketchbook - hers to be precise.
It proved to actually be a relief to let go if them. She had never realized how much their 'friendship' had been dragging her down.
I got permission to use this fic as a reference for her backstory so check it out. Thanks for that btw.
That experience proved to be helpful later when she felt like there was no one she could trust.
Apprenticeship with Master Fu had since long taught her that it was better to feel than to see. She had learnt to recognise auras rather than faces and in the end that might have been her saving grace - or well at least the start of her path back to sanity.
She had learnt to see and remember the auras of her friends rather than anything else because afterall the soul didn't lie.
After everything, well her reliance on auras had only increased.
Meeting her brothers had been amazing and even more so now that it seemed that they wanted to have a relationship with her.
But one things that bothered her were their auras.
It wasn't that they were bad - it was that they were scarred, hardened and she could basically see that they had suffered in the past.
The worst of them were probably Jason and Damian. Their auras made it very clear that they had been dipped in the Lazarus pits.
Jason...Jason's soul had been corrupted at such a point that she doubted that the pits had been used for anything less than bringing him back from the dead.
And Damian - Damian's soul seemed to have some of the pits as a foundation. She gathered that he had been dunked into the pools more than once when he was a child. There was something else in his aura too that showed that he had died not long ago too.
There was also another aura that seemed to have to have linked with both of them which made her sure of their last fates and Marinette shuddered to think what had happened to them.
She had to remind herself that the past was in the past and while she couldn't change that, she could at least help them have a better future.
So, one could say, that she was nervous for this upcoming dinner.
~
The dinner didn't go as expected - at all.
Firstly, they were late. All of her brothers and sister were late, very very late. Marinette was not impressed, especially give that Damian wasn't answering his phone.
But this was Gotham, the few kwamis she had brought with her reasoned, there was probably a problem and wasn't it better that were safe inside than stuck outside and hurt?
Just as she was about to say screw it and transform using the fox Miraculous to see if she could help the bats, she felt the magic around the house shift.
Marinette focused in the disturbance and closed her eyes reaching out for their auras. She soon snapped her eyes open and let a smile come on her face - she knew those auras. But why were they entering from the window?
Marinette shrugged it off and signalled the kwamis to hide while she went to greet them.
She was not ready for the sight that she came upon. Her siblings were all in a state of disarray and it looked like they were trying to be silent.
They were of course failing miserably given what seemed to be a bullet wound in Jason and a stab would in Dick and the rest of them all seemed to have been beat up to at least some degree.
"What the fuck?" Marinette felt like the situation called for her language to be excused.
They all froze in place before slowly turning to look at her.
"Uh hey." Dick or should she say Nightwing because apparently she wasn't stressed enough gave her a short wave.
She cursed and buried her face in her hands. "Of course I can't have normal siblings."
"Siblings?" Black Bat seemed suprised. She couldn't recognize her aura, Marinette decided that she must have been Cassandra.
"You must be confused ma'am." Red Robin jumped in and Marinette rolled her eyes. "I'm not stupid Timothy." And then just to prove her point she point at each one of them in turn. "Jason, Dick, Damian and who I'm guessing is Cassandra."
"What makes you say that?" Tim seemed to be ever the player of words.
She sighed, knowing they wouldn't budge until she proved that she truely believed her words.
"Well, why else would you be here?"
"Uh because it was the nearest place we found to nurse our wounds and last time we checked this place was abandoned?"
"Let's say that's true. Wouldn't it make more sense for you to go a place where you could actually have access to supplies to treat your wounds? Not to mention the fact that that-" she pointed at the hole in Jason's shoulder. "-is a bullet wound and I heard no gunshot. And lastly, what a coincidence it is that Black Bat who is known to work in Hong Kong comes back to Gotham at the same time as my sister Cassandra who from what I've heard also is currently living in Hong Kong too."
No one replied.
"So do you want to continue arguing or are you idiots going to let me help you before you bleed all over my floor."
Unsurprisingly it was Damian who moved the first - it made sense, he was the one who had spent most time with her and at least had a modicum of trust in her.
He removed his mask and met her eyes. "Do you have a first-aid kit?"
She nodded. "Get in the bathroom and get those two in the tub." She nodded towards Dick and Jason. I'll bring it to you."
Marinette hurried to her bed room to find her probably over-packed first aid kit. She had brought it for herself so that in case of a bad akuma attack she could take care of her wounds - after all her cure took care of everyone else before her, she had enough scars to prove that not that she could distinguish them from those the cat had given her.
She was glad to see that they had followed her instructions. Jason and Dick were seated in her honestly huge tub and they along with the rest had made themselves comfortable, having discarded their armor.
She placed the first-aid kit down and kneeled next to Dick. She felt that the stove would in the stomach took more precedence.
Jason reached out for the kit but Marinette batted his hand away.
"You're injured, sit down quietly." She snapped and to everyone's surprise, he did as he was told.
Marinette started treating their wounds, thanking the kwamis that she had done a medical course as soon as she had realised that her wounds could not heal from the cure.
She had finally taken care of the more dangerous wounds and Marinette had enough of them squirming so she broke the silence "So, why in the world did you come here instead of going to your hyper-tech batcave with most certainly more medical facilities than my humble abode?"
She had to supress a smile as the boys looked among themselves. Finally it was Cassandra that replied.
"Did not want to miss dinner. You."
"Well you were already two hours late, you could just have sent me a text that you'd be a little more late."
"Didn't want to take chance."
Marinette smiled up at her. "Well I'm done, come on, I'll get you some clothes to change into."
"I don't think you'll have anything that will fit us."
"I'm a designer." She called over her shoulder. "I always have spares. Anyways, Cassandra-"
"Cass."
"Right, well Cass come with me, we're about the same size, you can take something of mine."
She led Cass to her bedroom and guided her to her wardrobe while she picked something for the boys.
She totally hadn't hoped to see her siblings during this trip and had this made something for them. Nope. Absolutely not.
She handed each of them their clothes. "Choose a room if you want, I have more than enough of them, then come down, I'm re-heating the food."
She smiled at Damian as he came down the stairs. "I tried my hand at some Arabic food. I hope you like it."
The boy looked awed. He walked to her and gave her a hug. "You're my new favourite sibling." Marinette laughed and pressed a kiss in his hair. "I love you too little brother."
She heard the disbelieving whisper of Demon Spawn? And looked up to see the rest.
She squeezed Damian's shoulder one last time before she pulled away, guiding him to sit down.
"Well dig in. You must be famished after your fight."
They did exactly that and soon were making their appreciation known.
"It's the first time I've attempted Arabic food, I don't know if I got the spices right.*
"It's delicious Pixie Pop. Don't worry.*
"Todd's right Mari. I haven't eaten anything this good since I came to Gotham."
"Really? Alfred didn't immediately dote on you and cook you all the food you wanted. "
He looked uncomfortable. "I was a difficult child back then."
"Was?" Jason snorted while Dick elbowed him.
Casssandra intervened. "You good at cleaning wounds. Hands stable."
"Yes well unfortunately it's not the first time I've had to do this."
"How come?"
"Did Damian tell you about the akuma attacks?" They nodded. "Well, Paris had since adapted to handle the akuma attacks. A lot of people have taken medical courses for extensive first aid to be able to help the unfortunate victims of an akuma."
"I thought that your superhero reversed all the damage."
"Well yeah. But Ladybug was insistent to make it clear that they couldn't bank everything on her. If she's taken down, everything's lost."
"This has been going for how many years. How do you still trust that hero?"
"And for how many years have the Joker been spreading his terror?" She asked drily and saw several of them recoil - Jason and Tim especially.
"Ladybug is doing all that she can only get so far with Chat Noir around."
"Chat Noir? I thought that he was her partner?"
"He's supposed to be but we'll these days he causes more trouble than he stops. People hope he doesn't show up because the battles are always over quicker when he's not there." She could see that they wanted to ask more but number one she didn't want to talk about Chat Noir and number two she felt like if she continued talking, she would slip up and say something she shouldn't know and the risk of them catching it was greater since they were themselves heroes.
"And anyways, Hawkmoth only comes out in a blue moon and that's only when he has a lot of faith in his plans."
"So there are a lot of these akuma attacks?"
"I guess it's kind of become a daily event by this point. People plan stuff taking it into consideration and if we're unlucky, there will be more than one in a day."
"So what type of akumas are there?"
"It depends really over what you've been akumatized. We've had a Pharaon, a Mime, Mr Pigeon and Mr Rat as well as Syren in the first year."
"Those seem like... interesting characters." Jason said.
"Wait until you hear this." Marinette snorted. "We had a Batman knock-off once, Owlman - he had his own electronic butler and everything."
The bats shared a look before they all bursted out laughing at once.
How could they not, imagining Bruce's face upon learning of this?
"You need to tell us this story."
Marinette was more than eager to comply.

It's too long so I'm gonna reblog the rest

Thoughts on Transformers: War For Cybertron - Earthrise
My thoughts on this are less cohesive than last time, so I hope you're ready for a long ramble as I try to figure out exactly what I think about the series.
Tl;dr - still looks really pretty, but Siege’s weak writing hasn't improved.
Spoilers below the cut.
Earthrise generally suffers from being part 2 of 3. It's focused on getting characters from point A (Cybertron) to point B (Earth) and doesn't really do much in the meantime. You could've cut episodes 4 and 5 and it wouldn't have affected the plot all that much.
Megatron and Optimus
They need to stop having fights. It'd be best for their characters and the plot if they hadn't spent several minutes pointing guns at each other and saying that *this* time they were actually going to kill them. Just follow through already and if you can't then keep them apart until the climax.
Optimus getting distracted by Cog running up and going 'Optimus! What are you doing?!' was stupid. Cog should've been glad that Optimus was finally at the point where he wouldn't sacrifice every last Autobot to save Megatron if given the opportunity.
Them being trapped together was pointless and stupid (aside from that one screenshot we all made). Megatron's point that Optimus keeps screwing up and it's Megatron who pays the price was interesting - but it was surrounded by so much nonsense that it fell flat.
Speaking of…
Autobot Decepticon teamups
Are they trying to lean towards ending the series with mutual cooperation and peace? Their 'we all need to work together' moments were always horribly shoehorned and the Autobots didn't once try to put measures in place to defend themselves when the Decepticons inevitably betrayed them.
I like hero/villain teamups, but it doesn't work if the heroes are stupid about them.
Scorponok fight
There is a big room with a big enemy in. The Autobots have shut themselves in a corridor on one side of the room. They need to reach the other side of the room without getting killed. Whose idea was it to try and kill Scorponok instead of just evasive maneuvers to the other side of the room?!?
To be fair, Optimus did try and run distraction, but Bumblebee decided that was a stupid plan and standing still and shooting at the enemy - that none of their blasters had even scratched - was a better one.
It was a stupid fight. If they wanted a Megatron/Optimus moment so badly then, hey, the Autobots have rigged the station to blow and the Decepticons don't know that - have Megatron set off an explosion by accident and trap him and Optimus (who could've been diving forward to try and stop Megatron, thereby getting close).
The Dead Universe
You could've replaced this with Optimus getting a vision from the Matrix and Megatron having a short visit from future!Galvatron. It wasted time that could've been spent on actual character development.
Skylynx had about 3 lines that he just repeated variants of the whole episode.
Was it clear to anyone who hadn't seen the 1986 movie exactly what the Megatron/Galvatron link was? They were pretty vague about it.
Also, if Skylynx's advice made Optimus go 'hmm, yes, I should stop looking back and actually kill Megatron to prevent my own death', then Galvatron's advice to Megatron should've made him go 'I don't hate Prime this much/if he’s dedicated all his effort into stopping Prime and still failed, there must be another way'. I suppose, he didn’t kill Optimus when given a perfect opportunity, but that also just felt like an extension of their endless *points gun* “one-liner” *tables are turned* cycle.
Elita
Poor, poor, badly written Elita. She can't get anything done without Jetfire - the big strong man - questioning her or being the one to save the day, or making a desperate plan to try and fight their way out of captivity when they're going to be sacrificed, but we never see their escape attempt.
I don't think she acts like someone who is on a doomed planet. Breaking into prisons camps makes less sense than trying to find a way to fix things. Let her fail, fine, but give her a fighting chance to try and reignite Cybertron or, say, find someone who is rumoured to be able to create synthetic energon - which could've been a reason for prison breaks at least.
And it was probably meant to be read differently, but Elita's silence over her name when Megatron called her Ariel to her face, versus Optimus snarling that ‘her name is Elita-1!′ when Megatron used 'Ariel' around him, kinda makes me wonder whose decision it was to rename her.
Cog
They don't get to make me sad about a character death when that character had previously stopped Optimus from finally trying to kill Megatron and also failed to just bloody shoot Deeceus. And had he really taken the enemy ship? Really?
Misc
We never found out why the station was trapped halfway through the Spacebridge.
Optimus's voice actor still sounds like a bad Batman when he's angry, though he might've gotten away with it if Megatron's voice actor didn't have such a good "Prime" snarl.
Everyone is miserable, which isn't necessarily a bad thing in a series about the struggles of war, but when it's aimed at kids you have to ask the question: are they enjoying it? It is fun to watch?
Ultra Magnus's head was sort of flagged up as important - specifically its location was noted by Elita - but never appeared again once Megatron left Cybertron. Did he take it with him?
For having such a hard-on for the 1986 movie, their decision to have Megatron beg for mercy (something quite out of character for this version of Megatron) and not include Optimus's 'you who are without mercy now plead for it?' line was a weird whiplashy moment.
Showing Glavatron and Unicron in the trailer when they literally appear for one episode and five second respectively was seriously false advertising. When did people forget that watching a trailer is supposed to give you an idea of the type/style of plot the media is supposed to deliver?
The editing is bad in several places. There were often moments where there would be an explosion in place A, then it'd cut to a battered character in place B getting up in a ruined room, making it look like they'd been in said explosion. Confusing in a series where palette-swapping and similar character designs already make it difficult for newcomers to tell what's going on.
The velociraptor-bot at the end looked like 90's CGI and I really hope Kingdom doesn't all look like that.
If Hot Rod doesn't show up and get the Matrix in Kingdom I'm going to be severely disappointed.
Starscream really likes speechifying to a tiny audience. He makes his bid to become leader in front of a nameless Decepticon, Soundwave, Ravage, and an injured Megatron - who promptly shoots him. I have to admit that he’s probably the character they did best by, his coup moments were pretty good and captured Starscream as we all know him.
Like the question of what exactly was under siege in Siege, Earthrise only gets to Earth at the end of the last episode.
Wheeljack felt weirdly useless. He didn’t get to go through with his plan of blowing up the station and couldn’t open a pair of blast doors that Soundwave had 0 problems with. After not being the one to fix the Spacebridge in Siege, he’s not feeling much like an engineer.
You had to guess motivations and plans and fairly often piece things together backwards after the fact. Having an idea of who everyone was made that easier for me than for non-fans, but I still ended up running on incorrect assumptions about what people were going to do and why.
...
So, there you go. I guess I’m still going to watch Kingdom when it comes out, but I think I’ve lost all my optimism for it being any good.

Gotham Queen: Hazama
So, a while ago, I saw this post where someone, either @assclass-dump or @bea2804 (I don’t remember which one was it, and I am not about to roam through the Hazama tag just to find that one post, so I’ll tag both just in case) point out how Hazama has a unique cape in Koro Q.
The moment I saw that cape, I instantly thought of one thing: Batman.
That lead to an idea of a Hero!Hazama AU where she was part of the bat-fam, and all because of that one cape.
Anyway, I’ve been trying to think of some Hazama content, and today, I had an idea for a drabble based on that one idea.
***
If she were to be completely honest, seeing the legendary bat-cave was....disappointing.
It was exactly as she'd imagined it: big cave full of fancy equipment, a giant computer, and oh, we shouldn't forget the shiny bat mobile.
Really, what do you expect from a billionaire vigilante?
"Answer the question."
Red orbs met the narrowed white slits of none other than the caped crusader himself. Hazama wondered if this was the notorious "bat glare" that was rumored to send shivers down one's spine. If that were the case, then it was another disappointment. 'He should see my mom when she's in one of her moods.'
Maybe it was just her. After all, nothing came close to the haunting eyes of her own mother as well as the soul-shattering screams that had become the title track of her miserable childhood. In fact, everything else paled in comparison to the devil woman that was her mother.
Hazama shrugged. "I tracked you down, that's it.”
The glare deepened, not that it had any effect on her. 'Maybe I should show him that picture of mom, tell him to take notes.'
"How exactly?" Batman questioned.
"I had help."
"Who?"
'An AI who roams the internet. Oh, and she's been living your big, bat-computer, so that's how I know who you and your sidekicks really are.'
Of course, she wasn't going to tell him that, mainly to get under his skin, but there was a reason as to why she was here in the first place.
"It doesn't matter right now." Hazama spoke, straightening in her seat and regarding the hero with a serious look. "I'm here to help with the tentacled monsters that're suddenly popping up."
The Dark Knight did not seem pleased by that answer. In fact, he was growing irritated with this mysterious girl who had casually strolled in that bat cave like it was no big deal.
"Kirara Hazama." Nightwing stood next to Batman, a tablet in hand. "Sixteen years old. Japanese nationale. Transfer student at Gotham Academy." He looked up to meet the girl's eyes. "Not to mention, you were one of the students involved in that whole assassination ordeal from last year."
Hazama clutched her elbow. A year had passed since Korosensei's passing, but it was still felt so recent, as though that fateful night was only hours ago. Her heart clenched when she remembered the the tiny, yellow orbs floating around them, the feeling of Korosensei literally slipping through her fingers was unforgettable.
And now, her past had followed her all the way to another country; Hazama didn’t know if this was life trying to be funny, but if it were truly the case, then it was an utter, humorless fail.
Really, all she wanted was to be as far away as possible from her controlling mother, and the opportunity comes in the form of a transfer exchange program. But then one day, she gets attacked by a creature bearing an eerie resemblance to her late teacher. It had everything: the tentacles, the yellow skin, and even that trademark grin of his.
“Koro...sensei?”
Except that grin had been laced with malice, and before the girl could comprehend what was happening, she found a tentacle wrapped around her neck and dangling her in the air to suffocate.
“Sensei!”
Were it not for her assassination training, Hazama would not have managed to escape. Those had arguably been the most horrifying seconds of her life, more horrifying than the Okinawa ordeal, where Hazama truly believed herself nearing death’s door.
“It’s not him.” She breathed, her hand seemingly glued to her neck. “Korosenei would never...”
And she was right, especially after more and more of these psuedo-senseis appeared on the streets of Gathom city, wrecking havoc in a manner akin to mindless zombies. Hazama didn’t know their origins, but she was deadset on unraveling this mystery. ‘And...’ She bit her bottom lip.
And maybe...by some strange, unforeseeable miracle, he would be be alive.
Batman scrutinized the girl, her melancholy was not lost on him. The sadness glinting in her eyes was uncomfortably familiar, one that told the story of loss. He may not of read it, but he felt like he already knew the tale.
But that wasn’t the issue at hand. He will eventually learn how this girl managed to track him down, not to mention, do a thorough background check.
But for now, his priorities lied in handling the “Octopus terror” that had plagued Gotham. If this Kirara Hazama person had a solution to this, he was willing to listen, though her words will be taken with a grain of salt. After all, Batman did not trust her, not when she had somehow figured out their secret identities.
“Kirara, was it?”
“Hazama.” She corrected. “I don’t like my first name all that much, so just call me, Hazama.”
The man was silent for a few moments before responding “Very well then, Hazama.” He crossed his arms. “What do you know about these creatures?”
“Not much.” She admitted. “But they’re undoubtedly linked to my teacher.”
“Your teacher?”
“The one we were tasked with killing.” She explained, ignoring the slight ache in her heart. “I know how his past; maybe that could help us get to the bottom of this.”
“Uh...us?” Nightwing spoke up. “Kid, we’re talking dangerous stuff here.”
Hazama raised an eyebrow. “And?”
“What do you mean “And”?” The acrobat questioned irritably.
“Just because you have information on these creatures doesn’t mean you can come with us.” Batman said, regarding her with his notorious bat-glare once more.
Hazama glared back at him. “You’re going to need me.” She said firmly.
 “I won’t.”
“You will.” She argued. “For a whole year, my class and I were trained on how to kill that octopus.”
The bat glare intensified. “We don’t kill.”
“Neither do we.” She walked closer to bat until the distance between them was a few centimetres. “At least not when it comes to human life.”
She then pulled out her anti-sensei knife for the two men to see. “This is what I used when I was attacked by one of the monsters. To humans, it’s just a rubber knife.”
She bent it slightly to prove her point. “But it’s a deadly weapon to those monsters.”
The two heroes still didn’t look convinced.
“We spent a whole year studying that octopus, jolting down all his weaknesses.” She met Batman’s gaze with a determined look. “Like it or not, you’re going to need us.”
Batman narrowed his eyes. “Us?”
“Correct!”
The two men whipped their heads to the bat computer, their eyes widening at the sight of a purple-haired girl displayed on screen.
Ritsu smiled brightly at the two and waved. “Hello!”
The Dark Knight was the first to recover from his shock. He turned back to Hazama, bat-glare ever present.
“I take it this is who helped you, correct?”
The Goth gave him a smug smile. “Yup; and she’ll be a big help in this mission.”
“You bet!” There was a glitch on screen and suddenly, Ritsu was dressed in a female version of Batman’s costume.
Batman was absolutely not amused by this.
“Alright.” He turned back to Hazama. “But once this is over, you both will be answering some question. Is that clear?”
The girl shrugged. “Sounds fair.” She smirked. “But if you’re gonna interrogate me again, you’re gonna need to do better than glaring. Here, take notes.”
She then held up picture and gave it to Batman. Curious, Nightwing leaned closer, then jerked back a second later.
“Yikes!” He yelled in fright. “What is that?!”
“My mom.” The girl replied casually. “I use this to scare off cat-callers. It’s the one thing my mom’s good for.”
Batman regarded her with a neutral look. “Not the best relationship, I suppose?”
“Nope.” She stretched her arms and walked away.
“Where do you think you’re going?” The Bat asked, narrowing his eyes.
“I’m starving.” She replied without even looking back. “Your butler said he’ll be making dinner, right? We can’t save Gotham on empty stomachs.”
Nightwing chuckled slightly. “First Tim, now this Hazama kid.” He turned to his former mentor with a playful smirk. “It’s pretty hilarious how a bunch of kids can easily deduce your secret identity, huh?”
Batman’s only response was a glare, followed by him holding up the photo to show Nightwing the devil herself.
***
I have no idea what I just wrote...
Question: Has anyone in this fandom ever thought of an AC/DC crossover where Hazama was apart of the bat-fam before?
Because I’m starting to like the idea, especially when I imagine her endlessly trolling the Dark Knight.
Hazama in the bat clan....so many possibilities...Maybe have her be the new batgirl...or take on a completely original mantle...

Tumblr media
C/N: It wont always be like this, that's all I'm saying. This is angsty!!!
_____________
The capital city was peaceful as it laid under a veil of darkness. The moon glowed brightly in a cloudless sky, the stars glistened like clusters of white diamonds and sapphires and the ebb and flow of the Mediterranean tide gave off a calming lull. Spring was in full bloom and the typical, crisp night winds were just beginning to have a touch of warmth. It was a time for renewal and rebirth in Cordonia-tiny seeds and saplings sprouting into little blossoms.
Meanwhile, in a private, heavily guarded section of the hospital, was a room and a shattered heart. Monitors were shut off, silencing its deafening sounds, tubes removed, and lights dimmed to match the mood within its walls. Staff began collecting equipment and their distraught selves, leaving Liam behind to hover over Riley’s bedside, alone.
He couldn't take his heavily, tearful eyes off her, nor did he dare try. As he stood next to her bed in a complete daze, trying to make any kind of sense of what just took place, he reached out for her tiny hand. For a moment he just held it in his; rubbing his thumb gently along the outside of her palm, wanting desperately to feel her squeeze back, even if just slightly.
This wasn't the first time he felt the consequences of an unexpected loss, yet, this...this was different than his mothers. The woman who gave him everything he ever dreamed of- the chance to be himself, an unconditional love, a real marriage and a family- was somehow gone.
Liam leaned down and lifted the dainty hand he held in his, up to his lips, placing a soft kiss over her knuckles.
"And here we wait", Riley exclaimed as she leaned against the railing of the dock overlooking the water of the New York bay. The gusty wind blowing her brown hair in twists and twirls, sweeping across her face and covering the golden hue of her cheeks.
Liam stepped up beside her, gazing out at the near empty waters before quirking his brow at her, "For?".
Riley beamed enthusiastically tapping him lightly on the shoulder, "For a magical boat ride I've summoned just for you".
He brushes her pale, cool hand across his cheek, then holds it in place, memorizing how she feels- how she made him feel. Her engagement ring dimples his skin and he can't help but recall the night he gave it to her.
His lips begin to quiver, feeling an ache in his chest he'd never felt before, "Riley'' he wails out, completely overcome by an increasing wave of grief, "darling, don't leave me".
He turns her hand over and kisses the palm, his lips lingering along each crease and fingertip.  Lowering her hand and placing it gently across her stomach, draped by a white sheet, his eyes turn his gaze to her peaceful, face. Liam traces his thumb along her jawline, caresses her cheek, and trails his finger over her lips.
Standing side-by-side on the deck of the boat Riley had miraculously summoned on his behalf, he reached for her hand,  “I want you to know that I admire you. Your adventurous spirit. The way you follow your heart”.
She laces her fingers through his, “You can live that way too.''
“If only. My whole life I”ve prepared myself to do what’s best for Cordonia”.
“Well...we’re not in Cordonia now…”, Riley wrapped her arms around his waist and pulled him closer, searching his eyes before meeting his lips with hers. They kiss passionately while the mist of the sea rains down on them.
Liam smiles into her kiss, "You're full of surprises aren't you?"
She leans in for one more kiss and pulls away with a sly grin, "I try".
"I'm glad to have met you, Riley. I'll never forget this night”.
With both hands, he wipes away the tears that have drenched his cheeks and were hanging off his chin. He needed to be closer to her, to feel her body pressed against his and to hold her in his arms. Climbing into the bed beside her with very little room for himself, he rolled to his side and placed one arm under her and with the other, pulled her closer to him, cradling her head snuggly against his neck  Feeling her cold skin against his own flesh, Liam pulled the sheet up around her chest and wrapped her tightly in his arms. This was his Riley after all, he couldn’t help but want to protect her, keep her warm and feeling safe in his arms. He rested the side of his face on top of her head, breathing in the floral scent of her hair that was becoming moistened by the never ending tears that fell into them.
“My love...’, he swallowed between whimpers, his entire body quaking with grief, “I don’t know how to do this love...I don’t...I don’t know what to do without you”.
*****
Outside of her room, a despondent Bastien stood on the other side of the closed door. He could hear every sniffle, every agonizing moan and grief stricken sob that escaped from his King. He, himself, stunned by the entire situation and the loss of a young Queen who took Cordonia by storm. He pondered whether she had ever truly forgiven him for his part in the Applewood incident. Bastien was sure she had, she was always nothing but kind and respectful to him, yet, his regret for that ordeal crashed into his chest like a ton of bricks.
He glanced over to dozens of guards,  watching over the door to the private wing, noticing that all their training in keeping their emotions in check were failing miserably. Bastien bit his top lip and inhaled deeply through his nose, attempting to maintain some composure, but, knowing this was the saddest situation he had witnessed since Jackson Walker’s death. He remembered the look on a devastated,  young Drake’s face when he told him his father had passed away.
As if it were some cosmic joke, he turned to see a stunned Drake standing there, both hands in his pockets with that same look of denial again.
Drake knew by Bastien’s demeanor and that of the guards he passed coming in, what her status was, but wouldn't allow his heart to accept it.
He approached Bastien wearily, breathing heavily from adrenaline and fear, “Where is she Bas, where’s Brook’s...I need to see her.”
Bastien gestured with his weepy eyes to the door and Drake stepped away from him to go inside, but, Bastien grabbed his arm to hold him back.
“You can’t go in there right now, Drake.’
Drake jerked his arm back, “The hell I can’t, she needs me...Liam needs me...and WHERE THE FUCK ARE ALL THE DOCTORS AT, she needs help?”
"Son, keep your voice down'' he muttered, pressing into Drake's chest to ease him away from the door and into the opposite wall.
Bastien gripped both of Drake’s shoulders and looked into his troubled eyes with a sigh, “Drake..”
“Don’t...don’t you dare say it’, shirking away from him, nodding furiously, “don’t...she’s not…’, his voice becoming weak and raspy, “she not...gone”. Drake weaved around Bastien, gasping for words, his eyes welling up and raised his hand to Riley’s room. He pushed it in quietly, just enough to see his distraught best friend on her hospital bed cradling- his, Brooks.
Drake reaches out and shoves Riley, who for a second, struggles to keep her footing before toppling over and landing on a soft snow drift.
“Hey!” she yells, prepared to give him a piece of her mind, however, stops herself when she notices the most star-filled sky she had ever laid her eyes on.  The stars shooting, light up the night.
“Drake...:”
He plops down next to her, “Yes, my lady?”
“This is absolutely gorgeous”.
Drake takes in a refreshing breath, “Nothing beats a clear view of the sky during a meteor shower”.
Riley smiles as she watches stars race across the sky; her eyes glistening with astonishment, “I’m glad I didn’t miss this”.
He huffs, “Really? Would’ve figured you’d rather eat bon-bons and dress up tiny dogs, or whatever shit Olivia had planned for the night”.
“Not exactly my scene”, she scoffs.
As they both stare up at the sky, the clouds start to creep across the stars.
“Looks like we were just in time to see this before the storm comes”.
“Yeah, I didn’t want to miss it”, he rubs a hand over his face, “I used to do this with my sister, Savannah, every year. We grew up around the royals. My dad used to do security for Liam and his brother, and my sister and I were allowed to hang out with them. My sister, she’s...she’s been through a lot”.
“Wow, did Drake Walker just open up to me, maybe trust me a little?”.
“I don’t trust a lot of people, Brooks, but maybe I do trust you”.
“Drake, that’s probably the nicest thing you’ve ever said to anyone”.
“Heh, maybe”.
As more snowflakes continue to fall, Drake sighed, “I better get you back. It’d be quite a scandal if I let one of the Prince’s suitors freeze to death out here on my watch’.
“I’d hate for my untimely demise to cause you any difficulty’,
He stands from the snow, sweeping the flakes from his backside and extends his hand to Riley, “Let’s go back in”.
Drake’s body began to shake and his chest tightened as he closed the door back gingerly. He turned to face Bastien, feeling a weakness he hadn’t experienced in many years and fell limply to his knees.
********
Maxwell didn’t need an alarm clock to wake up, his energy and alertness kicked in at 5:00 every morning, ready to go. He threw the panda comforter Hana bought him for Christmas off and stretched heartily, contemplating whether to get in an early morning jog or eat a bowl of brownie ripple ice cream before feeding the peacocks. “It’s always the ice cream, ain’t that  right, Drake Jr”, he spoke to the guinea pig staring at him from its cage. He threw on a blue, cashmere robe to conceal his Batman boxers, since Savannah didn’t approve of him walking around naked in the estate.
After using the restroom, he headed to the dark kitchen on the first floor, flipping on the lights and grabbing a serving spoon out of a utensil drawer. He stood in front of the open freezer door, trying to decide whether he wanted the brownie ripple or the mint chocolate chip, “what the hell, let’s live dangerously”, reaching for both of them.
Maxwell flopped back on the couch with both cartons of ice cream and his serving spoon, sitting them both beside him before snatching the remote from the coffee table. He dug out a hearty spoonful of brownie ripple and licked on it while flipping through the channels.
“We have an unconfirmed report that the Queen of Cordonia has passed away unexpectedly. Sources right now are trying to reach the Royal Press office for confirmation”.
Maxwell’s hand shook with panic as he flipped to the next channel and the next, each one reporting the breaking news alert with Riley face plastered in the backdrop.
He dropped his spoon in the container and tossed it off of him, desperately searching the pockets of his robe for his cell phone. When he found it, he pulled up his messages and found dozens of texts from reporters wanting him to confirm her passing.
“What the fuck is going on?”.
Maxwell flipped desperately to his contacts and tried to call Riley...no answer. He tried Liam several times, each one going to voicemail. Overwhelming fear set in as he pushed the number for Drake, hoping he may have heard something...anything.
Maxwell cleared his throat, a collection of bile had stifled his voice, “Drake, please tell me it’s not true”.
What he heard was not what he wanted to hear; he didn’t end the call, just loosely allowed his phone to slip from his ear and crash to the floor,  his lip quivering, “Little Blossom”.
Maxwell watches a forlorn Riley waiting at the corner across from the bar he met her the previous night. After she gets  clearing to cross, he pipes up through the sunroof of the limo parked in front and waves his arms wildly.
“Riley!”, he shouts and she approaches him with a bit of confusion and hesitation.
“Maxwell, right?
“Yeah, I'm glad I caught you. We’re heading back to Cordonia so Liam can find someone to marry and all that jazz. But before I go, I wanted to officially extend to you an invitation to join us for the festivities in Cordonia”.
“Huh?”.
“You wouldn’t be allowed to join...but I wanted to sponsor you!”.
Riley furrowed her brow, “You...want to sponsor...me”, she snickered, “is this a joke?”.
“Nah, girl. I’m from a noble house, but I don’t have any sisters, so we don’t have anyone in contention to marry the Prince. Instead we can sponsor any girl we choose. And you’re my pick!”.
Riley shook her head, slightly taken aback, yet, intrigued by his proposal,  animated use of hand gestures and liveliness, “You want to sponsor me? Why?”,
“I’m not doing it for you. I saw how LIam looked at you last night. I’ve never seen him so happy. Honestly? I don’t want him to lose that. We’re kinda crunched for time though. I’ve got a plane leaving within the hour…”
Riley looks around at her bleak surroundings, shifting anxiously at the thought of seeing Liam again, getting away from the boredom and dread that had become her life, and the absolute hell that was waitressing at the bar that stood in front of her. She looked up at Maxwell, a large grin plastered on her face, “I”m in”.
“Yeah”, Maxwell pumped his fist in the air, causing the limo to bounce, “Go pack your bag. This is going to be the adventure of a lifetime”.
Maxwell glanced up at the fireplace, where a selfie of he and Riley posing with the mechanical bull at the American bar during Drake’s birthday, sat in a glittery frame. He felt the blood drain from his face, nausea building in the pit of his stomach and he bolted from the couch, “Bertrand!”
*******
Liam stayed with Riley for over an hour before kissing her once more, making promises to love her forever and take care of Ellie; hoping she would be everything her mother was.
He reached the door of her room and looked back once more as a nurse was carefully placing the sheet to cover her entire body. After exiting the room, he was met by Drake, who pulled him into a hug that didn’t end for several minutes while both wept into the other.
The guards cleared the halls that led to a private exit, hoping to avoid any and all press or prying eyes. Bastien returned and escorted Liam and Drake through the cordoned off hallways and passages that led to a private car, so not to be followed.
Liam’s mind was in a complete tailspin. Thoughts of what took place, how a young, vibrant woman dies suddenly without warning, and how the hell he was going to live the rest of his life without her. He was a King  without his Queen, a husband without his wife, and a father without the mother of his child. Nothing made sense, but there was no time to try to make any sense of it; he had a country waiting anxiously to hear word on the fate of his wife and a newborn baby that he was now the sole parent for. In all of his heartbreak, Liam wanted to run far away, to scream, to take all of his anger and grief out on something.
Bastien maneuvered the car through the throngs of press and people that had amassed around the gates of the palace. Entering through the garage of the palace, he parked the car and Liam jumped out before the door could be opened for him. Drake offered to stay with him, but Liam heard nothing. He wanted to get back to his quarters as quickly as possible, away from everyone and the flurry of questions he had no answers for. This was a new life for Liam, one that he hadn’t fully digested yet, nor believed he ever would.
He opened the door to his quarters, stepping slowly inside to the darkened foyer, passing listlessly through into the living room. Remnants of Riley scattered throughout from the pictures on the walls, her favorite throw blanket folded neatly on the ottoman, and a vase of purple lilies he bought her yesterday, adorned on the sofa table. Moving to the ottoman, he picked up the throw blanket and sat down on the sofa, lifting the blanket to his nose and inhaling sharply. Her scent lingering from the soft fabric and memories of her laugh, her giggles, the playfulness she exuded flooding through him. He gripped her throw tightly, slumping down onto the floor and began to sob uncontrollably into it. This was his reality, one that he would never accept.

I Want To Know You - Superbat (DCEU Series)
Even though they seemed to be on good terms, Bruce never knew how to act around Clark. He never knew what to do or what to say instead of the endless repertoire of apologies echoing inside his head. I’m sorry I didn’t listen to you in time to stop that madness before it took your life. I’m sorry for trying to destroy you. It should have been me not you... I’m not worthy of your forgiveness. I will never be worthy enough of it... Words that kept Bruce at a safe distance even though he never said them aloud. Instead, he hid behind a mask of impassibbility. Determined to ignore Clark's presence unless interacting with him was extremely necessary.
Bruce tried (emphasis on tried) but God knows how hard it was to act as professionally as possible near Clark, since the latter was determined to break all the walls Bruce tried to build between them. Actually, Clark's presence had become more and more frequent over time. He started to stick around a little longer after missions and meetings in the Batcave, sometimes to discuss details of projects for the rebuilding of the League Headquarters with Bruce (although Bruce tried to make clear that it wasn’t necessary), sometimes just to chat with Tim and Stephanie, also with Alfred who always brought him hot cocoa and cookies and always seemed pleased with his presence.
None of that was convenient to Bruce's plans to keep the members of his new team at arm's length. Including Clark (specially Clark).
But it’s not like his family cared about his plans, anyway.
Bruce was not stupid. He knew his children and Alfred had somehow adopted Clark. The kids had movie nights once a month and sleepovers at Clark’s living room. They were always posting on their social media about gatherings at Starbucks and lunches at Clark’s favorite diner nearby the Daily Planet (Clark had become the star of Tim’s snapchats, but always being careful not to reveal his secret identity). Bruce knew about every Saturday afternoon playing Pokemon Go with Tim at the Heroes Park in Metropolis and sometimes inside the vast area of the Wayne Estate. And Bruce also knew that Clark was so determined to be back in the world again that all he did was smile brightly and agree with everything the kids wanted.
Time passed, and it came to a point where getting home and seeing Clark spending time with one of them was no longer unusual, either playing video games with Tim on the gigantic tv at the living room of the Lake House (Seriously? I rebuilt the entire manor so you could enjoy it, and you decide to play video games right at my living room?) or laughing with Jason about something only they knew. Helping Stephanie with dessert recipes she had found on the Internet. Talking to Dick about... everything (something Bruce was never really good at).  At first, Bruce admits it was kind of annoying to see Clark constantly in his house, being pampered by his children and his butler. Being a part of his routine. Being a part of his life. Clark could move around The Lake House and The Manor like he belonged there and that was starting make Bruce crazy.
It's not like he was jealous of his own children or Alfred. Actually, there was a part of him that felt good because they had someone like Clark around. Someone who could give what he did not feel capable of giving to his own family anymore. Bruce knew Clark enjoyed having them around too. And how happy he looked every time the kids were surrounding him, eyes filled with adoration. Even Jason, who was always out of everyone’s reach (specially Bruce’s) liked Clark. In the end, Bruce was glad. Clark was a better company to all of them than he could ever be. But at the same time it hurt to admit that he missed the times when they used to look at him that way too. Specially Jason.
Jason who now listened to Clark’s advices when someone needed to talk sense back into his head (which was a hell of a miracle, Bruce should acknowledge that). Tim who Clark was always helping with his school essays - They were always engaged in debates about Clark’s articles and the current political state of the country (something Bruce always liked to listen to, but would never admit it, not even to himself) -. Stephanie who always turned to Clark when she was going through a teenage crisis. And Dick who has decided that Clark was already a member of the family and no one could convince him otherwise.
In all these years, Bruce had failed each of them, burying them in his own darkness that let him see nothing but The Mission. But not Clark. Clark was like the sun coming out in the sky after years of stormy nights over the heads of the Wayne Family, shining down on them and showing the way to a new start. And what amazed Bruce the most was the fact that Clark wasn’t even aware of that.
For that reason Bruce never felt very comfortable with Clark being so present all the time, not only as the co-leader of The Justice League but in his life as well. After all that happened between them, his first assumption was that Clark would only interact with him during League duty, only talking the necessary for the sake of the team. And Bruce was fine with that. Maybe, they’d work together on a case or two, helping to defeat a villain in each other cities. But nothing more. Nothing more than a professional and pacific coexistence. He wasn’t in a position to ask for more than that. He would never ask more than that.
Even if he wanted more...
However, instead of what Bruce prevented, Clark was there. Always there. Bruce just couldn’t figure out why. Why that walking ray of sunshine was always in his house, strolling through the tunnels between the Cave and the League Headquarters just to talk to him. Why was he smiling at him. Why was he cooking for him and his children. Why was he always helpful, always loving and patient with the brats Bruce raised. Bruce tried to make sense of it but he didn’t seem to be able to. Why Clark wasn’t sick and tired of all this invasion of privacy? And why Bruce himself was not?
Clark on the other hand knew something was wrong in Bruce’s demeanor (more than usual) and confronted him one night at the meeting room of the newly inaugurated League Headquarters. He looked Bruce in the eyes. His blue eyes like two aquamarines filled with forgiveness and understanding, asking for forgiveness too. That was the first real conversation they had after Steppenwolf attacking Earth. After everything that has happened the night Batman and Superman fought each other and Superman died.
Bruce wasn’t used to that. Everything in his life had a purpose, a reason. Everything was extremely calculated. And at that moment with Clark staring at him with pleading eyes nothing seemed to make sense. Why was Clark doing this? Why would he want to be his friend?
“I just can’t understand you... Why don’t you hate me? Why don’t you stay away?”
“Because you’re all I have” Clark said, loud enough to shut Bruce’s mouth in a second before he could retort. “You’re all I have...” his voice was cracking although he wasn’t crying yet. The tears that threatened to fall, made his blue eyes even brighter.
“You... your family... the team...” Clark let out a deep sigh before continuing. “When I’m around you all, it’s like nothing happened. It’s like everything was fine and the months I’ve spent in that grave were nothing but a night’s sleep. It feels like I finally woke up to a life where I’m part of something important.”
Clark took a deep breath in order to calm himself, wiping the tears before they could roll from his eyes.
“The reason I got so close to your family is that I’ve spent my whole life being careful not get too close to people” he continued. “I was always being careful not to reveal too much of myself or my powers… I’ve spent most of my life being a ghost and now that I have you guys, I feel that I don’t need to hide who I am anymore. I feel that I can be around people who I can talk to… To share my problems and worries with… people who would understand them. After a very long time I feel like I’m not alone anymore” he finally paused to breathe, as if he really needed it, after throwing all those words at once. “I’m sorry for invading your space like that... I didn’t realize how much this was bothering you.”
Bruce was standing still, staring at Clark without saying a word. He couldn’t think of any reasonable response for that. There was no contingency plan for that kind of situation, he thought to himself while Clark came closer to hold him tenderly by the shoulders, triggering all the alarms and red warning lights inside his head.
“Bruce,” Clark's voice sounded faint as a whisper, needy even, and Bruce had to fight a shiver down his spine. “I’m sorry for making you feel uncomfortable with my presence here. I didn’t mean to cross your boundaries, I only wanted to belong somewhere...” he looked exhausted. “I didn’t mean to invade your privacy but being with your family is what has kept me sane lately... I can’t make Ma carry this burden after all I made her go through. I can’t talk to my work colleagues about coming back from the dead and fighting space monsters because they don’t even know who I really am. I know our teammates are not here all the time for they have their own lives and their own problems to deal with... not that I think you don’t. But after Lois and I... after Lois and I broke up...” he paused for a second, staring at the floor, lifting his head to face Bruce again with a miserable smile. “Well, is not like there’s someone waiting for me at home now” one tear was streaming down his perfect face. Clark wiped that away too.
“What I’m trying to say with all this is that I want to put what happened between us in the past” his expression went from defeated to determined, more Superman’s than Clark’s. “ I wish we both had a better relationship than this because I can’t take it anymore, Bruce. It’s draining and it’s not helping any of us. I can’t stand you looking at me the way you do every time we’re in the same room. It’s like you’re in a funeral! My funeral! It’s like you’re still looking at my grave. But I’m not there, Bruce. Not anymore.”
He squeezed Bruce's shoulders affectionately, making the other man startle at the action. “And I’m not a hologram either” Clark tilted his head to meet Bruce’s hazel eyes. “I’m alive and I am here in front of you. I’m just waiting for you to realize that” he stopped talking, getting even closer to Bruce who still looked petrified, unable to come with a response.
“Look,” Clark added, taking advantage of the fact that the other man was still silent. “I know I can’t make you let me in your life but can I ask you to give us a chance to know each other better? So you can finally know the real me? The one who’s not a God analogy and most importantly, who’s not dead?” he smiled provocatively through his tears, his eyes glistening with the artificial lightning of the meeting room. “Everyone gave me that chance. Even your family did. Except you.”
Clark lowered his head once more, taking a breath before he raised his gaze to Bruce's again, as if what he was about to say was not easy for him. As if preparing to say goodbye.
“But... if you still want me to stay away, I can leave right now. You’ll only see me when needed. I promise.”
Bruce took a few seconds before he could finally speak. He was not prepared for hearing so much from Clark, although that answered a lot of his questions. He was expecting Clark to yell at him. To accuse him. To call him an idiot and punch him in the face because that’s what he deserved. He wasn’t expecting a heart to heart conversation, let alone Clark apologizing. Why was he apologizing anyway? For being kind to me when I clearly don’t deserve it? For making this damn Manor a home again? For making the kids happy? Is that why are you apologizing, Clark?
“I...” he started to say, trying to make sense of himself again after being hit by the flood of words Clark poured over him.
“I’m not the one who has to give you a chance, Clark. It’s the opposite” Bruce let it out with a sigh. He was exhausted too. “I’m the one who should ask that... I’m the one who should ask you for forgiveness,” he clenched his fists, taking a deep breath before facing Clark, “even though I know I don't deserve it.”
“Bruce...”
“I should have listened to you. I should have tried to get to know who you really are and let you know why I do what I do Instead of tracking you down and hunting you like… like... I should have known better than to be fooled by Luthor's schemes... I hated you. I planned to-I killed you, Clark...“
Bruce’s breathing was shallow as he struggled with the words. It was happening again. The anxiety attack. The physical discomfort caused by the memories of when Bruce found Clark's limp body, closed his eyes and wrapped him in his own cape to carry him to Diana's outstretched arms that would take him to Lois to say goodbye... Bruce had to find the strength to keep going. He owed it to Clark.
“You’re not like the others” Bruce found courage to say, looking Clark in the eyes, “I should have known that since the beginning. You’re not rotten inside like…” me. You’re not rotten inside like me, he wanted to say. “You’re not rotten inside like most of us… and that’s why I don’t understand how can you stay in my presence...” he said instead. “I failed you, Clark. All of you. I put the whole world in danger because I couldn’t see past the end of my nose. I couldn’t see the true before it was too late. Before I could prevent you from being killed. Before-”
Bruce couldn’t finish his crooked line of thought for Clark was hugging him so tight at the moment, leaving him lost of words and gasping in surprise. Wondering if that has something to do with being hugged by Clark or his super speed.
“Bruce,” Clark said this time softly in Bruce’s ear, “I forgave you a long time ago. It’s time for you to forgive yourself” he was gently rubbing his hand in soothing circles on the other man’s back in to calm him down. “We both made mistakes. I should have approached you differently, now I know that. However, I believe neither of us would ever go so far as to actually kill each other, You see? You tried to kill me but you didn’t. You didn’t listen to me sooner but you still did listen in the end. You saved my mother and fought by my side to save both of our cities. You helped me and Diana to defeat Luthor’s creature. That’s what I carry from that night. Through this time we’ve spent together, I learned to admire and respect you. That’s why it would mean a lot to me if we finally get along. Can we do that? Can we at least try?”
Clark’s words and hug let Bruce out of function and it took him a few seconds to realize that he was holding Clark tight against himself in response, like Clark was a damn life buoy in the middle of the ocean. What a lovely irony that was...
They were silent, only their arms doing the talking. Bruce didn’t know how long they stayed that way and he didn’t care. All that weigh was leaving his shoulders at last. The uneasiness and the sense of helplessness were disappearing. Clark was there in his arms and he was safe. And he could breath again. Finally, Bruce knew what it was to gravitate towards Clark's light and he didn’t want to let go.
“I need to eat at least six pizza boxes before I starve to death, can we please... Oh... Am I interrupting something?”
Bruce found himself letting go of Clark’s embrace in the second a very confused Barry Allen entered the meeting room. And after an embarrassing moment of Barry telling how proud he was of Bruce for finally starting to share his feelings with his colleagues and then leaving to ask Alfred for the pizzas, Clark (who was laughing very hard at the situation) reached his hand to Bruce.
“So… Can we start again?” Clark offered, looking at him expectantly, almost hesitant at the possibility of Bruce denying his request. “This time as friends, I mean.”
“Yes, I suppose” Bruce finally felt able to reply, taking Clark’s hand and trying to ignore the leap his own heart made inside his chest when they shook them in agreement.
“Thank you, Bruce” Clark's eyes seemed to glow even more brightly as he smiled at Bruce “Is there any possibility of you joining me and the kids for a movie night?”
“I’ll think about it” Bruce let his mouth form a smirk that made Clark’s grin even wider as it was possible.
Bruce did his best to disguise the fact that such a sight had made him lose his breath and his heart leap inside his chest once again.
Maybe having Clark around wouldn’t be so bad...

Ultimatum - Bruce Wayne Imagine
Tumblr media
Prompt: You really didn’t care about the stupid dates anymore, you just wanted all the lies and lame excuses to stop! You want the truth just for once. So you gave you boyfriend of one year, Bruce Wayne, an Ultimatum.
Word Count: 1,537
Warnings: None.
Inspiring Song: ‘Say you won’t let go’ by James Arthur.
A/N: So many of you liked the first one shot with Bruce Wayne so I thought I’d continue with a small series of different scenarios in Yours and Bruce’s relationship – already have enough ideas figured out ;). Hope you’ll like it, let me know whatcha think.
You were getting dizzy from spinning on the spinning chair, but you were so bored, it seemed like the only source of entertainment while the minutes kept passing.
It was 7:28pm. 28 minutes past the time you agreed on. But knowing Bruce, you knew he will burst through the door, as he clumsily ties his tie with countless apologies for being late again, any second now… he had too.
7:46pm, and still no sign for Bruce. You were sitting on a chair in the dark office in a black flirty yet elegant backless skater dress that showed much more skin than you would usually show, leaning on a big desk, your chin resting on the palm of your hand as your leg was dangling over the other. Staring into thin air, you felt yourself sinking in deep thoughts. Maybe he did forget? You thought to yourself. The logical and more calculated mind screamed ‘it’s been almost an hour, of course he forgot!’, but your heart was desperately aching as it clung to the littlest hope of Bruce showing up.
Another 10 minutes passed, and the wonder and doubt were replaced with the hurtful realization. “For someone that planned this date night, he sure as hell knows how to commit.” You mumbled sarcastically, finally giving up. He forgot.
With a tired and annoyed sigh, you stood off the chair before straightening the hem of your dress. You clamped your matching Chanel purse that was sitting on the table, right next to the gift you bought for Bruce for your anniversary. Reaching for the luxurious box, you came to a halt, at the end deciding to leave it where it was for Bruce to find in the morning. Hurt and disappointed, you left Bruce’s office and next, the grounds of Wayne enterprises.
-
Another long night of chasing Gotham’s lunatics had left Bruce Wayne sleep deprived. He was rubbing his eyes tiredly as he guided his finger to his office phone.
“Good morning, Mr. Wayne. How may I assist you?” his assistant’s voice traveled through the speaker.
“Morning, black coffee would be great.” He replied tiredly.
“Will be there right away, sir.”
He sighed in relief, knowing that in no time he will get a much needed boost of caffeine. But as his eyes moved away from the phone to his desk and landed on a luxurious velvet box, his sleepiness was long forgotten.
Shit. He thought to himself.
“Your coffee, Mr. Wayne.” His assistant announced, making her way to his desk.
“Kathrin, what date is it today?” he asked, examining the box, too afraid to open it and confirm his suspicions.
The assistant looked at him a bit confused, “it’s February 24th, sir.” She replied anyways. Shit. He thought again, his eyes shutting close as he realized, he fucked up. “Is everything okay, Mr. Wayne?” his new assistant questioned worriedly.
He sighed, looking at her with his charming dark blue eyes. “Everything is fine, thank you for the coffee.” he faked an unconvincing smile.
She nodded, setting the hot coffee on his desk, before leaving his office.
As soon as she left, Bruce let out another sigh. His eyes fell on the box once again, and this time, he opened it. It was the perfect gift. A black Rolex watch. How did she know? He thought to himself, looking at his bare left wrist. A slight tan marked the presence of a watch that wasn’t there anymore.
Another sigh left his lips, as the scary thought echoed in his head. She deserves someone better than me, someone that would give her the attention she deserves. Someone that will notice just like she does. One day, a man like that will come across, and I will lose her… forever.
 -
“You’re sorry?” you raised your eyebrows at him skeptically as you thought - really Bruce? Is that all you’ve got?
He looked at you quite lost for words. He didn’t know what to say. What could he say? That the Joker and Harley Queen decided to go on a terrorizing spree through Gotham? That Gotham needed the Batman? He could never put you through this risk of knowing who he really was. You were already roaming around with a huge target on your back as the ‘Billionaire playboy’s love interest’. Telling you about his alter ego, would put you in an even greater danger.
“wow.” Your voice pulled him back, “you’ve really done it this time.” The way you spoke, that fake amused smile that he knew all too well, that fake smile that you used right before you spit fire at the ones you strongly disliked, this sarcastic and powering look in your eyes right before your crashed your enemies.
He really did screw up this time.
“Y/N, I-“
“it’s not even about last night anymore,” you cut him off, not interested in hearing another useless apology, followed by an empty promise and finished with a lame excuse. You were so done. “Not about that time nor any other time that you ditched me or lied to me.” your voice was scarily calm. The way you spoke, the venomous sarcasm that laced your words, he was sure Alfred was the only one with the ability to put him in place. Yet here you are, a sweet 5 foot 4 woman, putting the big bad bat on a tight leash. He would lie if he ever said it didn’t turn him on from time to time. “It’s not about the actions nor the lame excuses anymore. It’s about me being kept in the dark, being put aside like a used toy and then being picked up whenever you’re free to play, and I’m tired of this.” Your honesty was brutal, the hurt and pain you worked so hard to hide glimpsed for one second too long, just enough for Bruce to realize his mistake.
He stood there silently, his mind blank from words as the sharp-tongued woman stands before him. A woman that won countless debates, a woman that knows so many words it seemed like she swallowed a dictionary, a smart and intelligent woman that he knew he could never fool.
“I love you, Bruce. I truly do.” your voice was shaky and high, choking out these words for the first time in a very long time, catching both you and Bruce by surprise, “I respect you immensely, and I’ve been honest with you completely, from the very first moment that we met I have been nothing but loving, understanding, accepting and honest with you. I deserve the same from you.” Your last words came out like a hanging threat, a threat that Bruce was too scared to hear.
“Or?” he spoke, trying to sound as brave and firm as he could, but you could see right through him. He was scared.
You felt tears in your eyes, blurring the sight of the man you love with all of your heart. “Or we’re done.” Your voice was shaky, you tried to restrain the painful emotions but miserably failed.
You hated doing it. You hated putting an ultimatum. But you grew tired and desperate, the frustration was biting into your flesh whenever he came up with a lame excuse that you pretended to accept, you were just tired of guessing – it haunted you. Bad and worst thoughts became way too distracting as the unknown became unbearable.
“Well?” you pushed for an answer, the long silence making everything so dreadful.
You wished so hard, you were so hopeful he wouldn’t just give up on you. Your eyes were begging for him to save this beautiful thing you shared with each other because there’s still so much more to go, because even with all the lies and terrible excuses that hide some ‘big dark’ secret – you could see a future with the man that swept you off your feet just a year and a day ago at some boring Gala. You needed him to not give up.
Bruce stared at you silently. His eyes were somewhat readable and unreadable all the together. His dark blue eyes darkened with a mixture of clouded emotions. Maybe he was meant to be alone for the rest of his life? After all, in this line of work, people are weakness. Guys like him never get the girl.
His silence was louder than words. The way he looked at you with cold eyes, the type of look you’ve hardly seen but could definitely recognize – the detachment from his feelings, when he shot off his emotions and started with the logical solution, analyzing the situation.
The way he stared at you with a straight face right before he turned away and walked out the door.
The courage faded away from your body, and suddenly it was hard to breath with the lump in your throat. A small sob escaped your lips as you felt your heart drops just before shattering into million pieces. Your mind was lost in a mist and the tears were finally too heavy for your eyes to carry.
His actions felt like a record on repeat in your mind as the realization hit you all over again and again.
It was over.

Requested by anonymous, Outsider Beast Boy x Batsis Reader
🤦🏼‍♀️I'm still figuring out Tumblr and accidentally deleted the request as I was trying to figure out how to post it. Whomever did I apologize and I hope you find what I posted!
My turn to wash dishes, I walked to the kitchen. I see the near overflowing pile of dirty dishes and sigh. I open the dishwasher. As I wash the food off the dishes, I put them in the dishwasher. I see my older brother Jason. He sat on the counter with a bag of chips. I didn't say anything. I just got back from my date with Garfield. No one knows we're dating. Because I love him and my family is very overprotective. It's going to stay a secret for at least a while. Jason, takes a bite as I continue to clean dishes.
"so what's up, lil' Bird" he says using my nickname as he munched on the chips in his mouth
"nothin' at all, how was the date with, your girlfriend?"
"it was.." he looks away from me with a wry smile, gross
"no details needed" I said shivering gross
"thanks, anyhow. I'm bored any dumbass's who been looking your way I can beat the hell out of"
I sarcastically laugh, and roll my eyes "no it's a little hard to date when your brother's are threatening to kill whomever you bring home or who you date"
"we do not" he defended appalled
"sure, Jaybird sure. What is exactly was the first thing you said to me, when you sat on the counter?" like hell I'm telling him about Garfield and I
"were not talking about me and you're fucking lying to me!" he exclaimed
I halted no! Shit! He can't find out! I took a deep breath holding the plate looking at him, don't blow my cover! "I would never lie to you"
"you're blushing! I'm go to find out who he is!"
"no you're not!" I demanded
"oh, yes I am!" he jumped off the counter and bolted out the room
I hit my foot on the ground "dammit, Jason! Just for once stay out of my life"
He left the kitchen "ouch! I wish that hurt" he mocked
"Jason, I mean it I'll kill you!!" I threatened
"good luck with that!" he yelled back at me
I grunted loudly. Dick walked in with a chuckle at my demise.
"what did Jason do now?" he asked laughing
"nothing" I groan under my breath, irritated with Jason
I continued cleaning. Dick, put his chin on my my head.
"come on, Y/N talk to your favorite big brother. I can help ease your troubles and we can prank Jason for bothering you"
I sigh deeply looking up to my brother "drop it, Dick and get off of me"
He moved leaning on the counter "oh, don't be so grouchy you sound like Dami. I'm just wondering why you're mad so I can help fix it"
"I'm not mad" I say irritated
"you sit on the throne of lies, you sicken me" he jokes
I roll my eye's of course he's phrasing, Elf. I sigh, I could tell him. No! Definitely not. Dick, would go all overprotective brother mode. Jason would threaten to kill Gar or actually do it. Tim would hack security cameras and my phone to make sure Garfield treats me right, which he does. Damian would resent me and kill him. Or he would hate his only second best friend Garfield. It would probably ruin their friendship. I can't risk it. The following day at the hub. Garfield and I holding locked arm's on the balcony. He moves his arm over my neck as I lean into him. We both stare out at the beautiful sky above. He kisses my head. I can't stop worrying about what our future holds.
"babe, you doin' okay? You're being real quiet" he said with a genuine sweet tone
"I know I just am thinking about us.. You know I love you. I'm very addicted to you--" he cut me off
"and I'm insane bananas for you" he said kissing my cheek
I softly chuckle with a blush. I clear my throat "I just am really nervous about my family.. Knowing about us. I really care about you and I don't want you to worry about my brother's using something or anything to hurt you bec--" he shushed me moving to my lips with a kiss
He parts "hey, don't worry" he lifts my hand to his lips kissing it "I can change into any creature, remember?"
I chuckled and kiss him "and my dad is Batman" I said with worry in my tone
"Y/N" he sighed cupping my cheeks. My arm's wrapped around him
"yes" I said taking a deep breath
"relax it'll all work out I promise" he softly said
I touch his cheek "you're carefree nature worries me darling"
He changes into my favorite animal. I chuckled he always made me happy when no one else could. He changes back. We held onto each other knowing this moment will sadly not last long enough.
Dick's P. O. V
Damian ran to get Beast-Boy off our sister though was stopped by me grabbing his collar. My brother's and I look through the sliding window doors onto the balcony. Jason, had said she was probably seeing someone I just didn't want to believe it. But we decided to keep a close eye on her not knowing how to confront her. It was not the best idea but it worked.
"Grayson unhand me this instant I must--" I cut him off
"Damian, stop! Let her be. It's, ok" I softly said as I feel like I am losing my sister.
"is it?" Jason scoffed his glare remaining on Garfield
"no it is not. You are a fool Richard! She is just a child!" Damian appalled
Tim, gazed with a soft smile as if he's happy for her. It kills me, absolutely hurts to know she's growing up. She for sure is still my baby sister but it hurts to know she needs be a, little bit less as she gets older. I've never seen her smile like that. Steph, walked to us delightful as always.
"what's got Dami so angry and what the hell are you all--" she gasped and looked at, Garfield with our sister "Aww! Y/N, has a boyfriend! Aww she's so happy"
"yeah she is" I softly said
Damian, finally calmed down I put him down. My girlfriend rolled in her wheelchair by me. Seeing my saddened smile she holds my hand. I softly smile to her. Cassandra, steps to us she genuinely smiles to Y/N and Garfield. Both of them unaware we were all studying them intently. From what I can see she's happy and that's what matters to me most.
Y/N's P. O. V
I kiss Garfield's cheek. I turn around seeing every single one of my siblings. Shit. My eyes went wide I swiftly push Garfield away.
"oh! This is so not whelmed! All of them at once, ok!" Garfield nervously said "I can handle this. I'd risk it for my girl!" he tried to sound confident in his voice but failed miserably
Dick, erupted into laughter. The doors slid open as he stepped onto the balcony. OK, he's not mad that's good. I so need to work on hiding my love better. It's out in the open now. They all stepped onto the balcony with Grayson. All of my siblings surprisingly here and at the worst possible time.
"don't worry we won't kill him unless he breaks your heart" Dick assured
"you better fucking not" Jason threatened arm's folded
"tt, I'm disgusted to say this, but I agree with Todd" Damian added
"you boy's quit being juvenile. They're happy together obviously so don't mess it up, or I'll stick Cassandra on your asses!" Steph threatened
Cassandra nodded in acknowledgment. She then smiled to me.
"no more secrets Missy" Barbara said to me
"ok mom" I chuckled with a breath of relief
I smile letting out a deep breath. With the girls on my side I'm honestly not as worried as I was. Still just a bit worried about Bruce but that'll be for another day. Garfield chuckles
"whoo! You were so worried babe. See told you it would all work out!" he gratefully said with smirk deeply exhaling with relief
