like imagine. it's percy in a really tight situation rn. he's tempted by his humane insecurities, risking trusting a suspicious primordial goddess. but he's choked, because he wants to be perfect. he wants to be enough. we see a torn expression on walker's face. indecision and doom is hanging in the atmosphere.

then we cut to some pop music blaring in the background. leah's lips are touched up with lipstick a close up shot. her cheeks are brushed with powdered pink. we see her spinning around in some dresses while giggling with the servants (+reyna cameo). she's shooting star eyes at the mirror with someone gives her a grand reveal of her new gorgeous hairstyle.

oh, where were we again? oh yeah. we cut back to percys life or death situation or whatever.

PERCY JACKSON TV SHOW REVIEW

CONTAINS SPOILERS!!!!

Hello everyone! It’s me back with another review but this time it’s not a book review it’s a TV show review! Todays topic: the brand new very anticipated PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS!

Holy gods if I could tell you how eagerly I have been waiting for this show! And it did not disappoint!

Bottom of this post will contain some details regarding actors in the film, place filmed, run time and extra

Starting of with episode one: I accidentally vaporised my Pre-Algebra teacher

One thing I would like to point out here is how each episode is named after a chapter in the book!

This episode started of with bang starting of with the exact words said and an iconic line “I didn’t want to be a half-blood”! This was a great touch. Moving on

It was insanely book accurate (much better than the movies) including direct quotes from the book (^one stated above) and actors perfectly portraying the characters personalities correctly (unlike the movies) and also had them as there correct ages! (UNLIKE THE MOVIES)

Although there are many great things I would love to share with you a heartbreaking scene, sally being “killed”. The acting in this scene was next level and you could really feel the hurt and sadness. This was honestly heartbreaking to watch. Overall this gets a…… 9.99/10 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙🤍 (I don’t think I’m aloud to make anything perfect/10/10 blue hearts😔)

Episode 2: I become supreme lord of the bathroom

This episode was were things really started to pick up! Percy is now at camp halfblood and is oddly being stalked by Annabeth (💙😉)

Now we can’t have a review without talking about the capture the flag scene! Wow what a masterpiece! The way the had Annabeth invisibility cap and Riptide. We also got to see Luke and Clarisse. Also personally when Demi gods got claimed I thought the symbol would’ve be slightly smaller but nope everybody’s gotta know (I guess that makes sense).

Also not to mention persassy!

Percy literally just walked through the door and started beefing with the first god he saw… And He Didn’t Even Know It Was A God! but Dionysus isn’t innocent of course he is already butchering names worse then a sub teacher! He is also already trying to trick Percy into getting him wine, Percy just got here! Already know I’m going to be hooked on this TV show!

Overall this gets a…. 9.99.9/10 (that’s practically a 10)

For PowerPoint Night with my roommates, I’m diving into Just How Badly Trollhunters: ROTT fucked up: an analysis, minor script doctor and conspiracy. I only have a skeleton outline rn, but I’m expecting with image examples and formatting, it will be well over 100 slides.

I have about 40 hours to finish it.

I will be forced to go through all 100 in about ten minutes.

When it’s finished I’ll absolutely post it publicly for all to see.

Btw I just finished rewatching it for a refreshed memory of the plot, and holy shit y’all it’s really bad. It’s Egregiously Bad. This is gonna be a passionate PowerPoint.

All the series combined, (pjo, hoo, toa) I think Trials of Apollo might be my favorite. I’ve said Heroes of Olympus for a while, but after finishing toa, I was actually really sad in a way that I wasn’t with the other series. This is my reasoning: *TOA SPOILERS AHEAD*

Lester/Apollo’s narration and character development was top notch. In The Hidden Oracle, at first I thought the book series was gonna be full of arrogance and whining. Oh, how it was the complete opposite. He went through stuff that no other god will ever go through. Pain, and grief. The empty feeling of not being yourself anymore. And he finally realized how the gods are, how clueless they have been about mortals and demigods. Everything that happened in toa was just building up to the perfect Apollo, the Apollo that’s not in fact perfect.

The characters. Like, these characters are so good? First of all, they are so fleshed out. Meg McCaffrey, who saw her own father dead and got mentally abused by the emperor who killed him. “The Beast,” was just himself, but Meg was too scared of him to stand up for herself. And like, how is an arrow kind of making me empathize with it? The arrow of Dodona was supposedly the worst piece of wood in the forest, and so Lester needed to prove the others wrong, and I think he did. Especially in that final battle against Python.

The amount of different stories and adventures. Obviously you would have sooo many adventures, because you need to get a different oracle in each one! In every single one, we’re introduced to a new character and new goal. It doesn’t really start in the first one, as it’s just introducing the main characters. In the second one, it’s Emmie, Jo, Calypso, and Leo. In the third one, it’s Piper, Jason, and Grover. In the fourth one, it’s Lavinia, Reyna, Hazel, and Frank (a lot of characters from SoN). In the last one, it’s just a lot of chb campers. Will, Nico, the Troglodytes, and more. See what I mean? There are so many different stories in just one series.

And lastly, how powerful it is. The fact that it could make me cry is impressive, because I don’t cry at much (book and movie wise). Jason’s death, Lester’s misery, Meg’s abuse, and so much more. It’s just so sad but powerful at the same time. If you prefer a different series, (PJO, HOO, TOA) then tell me why!

Just in case, TOA SPOILERS ✨

I'm rewatching Trollhunters (again) and for the love of troll I NEED AN EXPLORATION OF JIM'S TRAUMA. LIKE, I JUST WATCHED HIM SHUT HIMSELF WITH LIGHTNING, KNOWING HE COULD HAVE DIE. AND THAT'S NOT COUNTING THAT HE COULD HAVE LOST CONSCIOUSNESS DUE TO LACK OF OXYGEN AND COULD HAVE DIE FROM THE FALL. Of course, this is not the first time he almost died, but It's the one that made me realize this.

The poor guy is always on the verge of death and it's brushed off like it's nothing. The only time they acknowledge it it's at the very beginning, but then it's just... nothing.

Jim should have PTSD after so many times he almost died or saw loved ones die/almost die. Also becoming troll, learning to live like that, then consciencesless troll, and fighting against his friends, then human again????? Identity crisis at it's best.

((I don't even want to mention the movie's ending and Jim having to live knowing everything he knows, and having lost much, because his relationships will never be the same now that he's not the trollhunter))

Poly!Frazel headcanons

Funniest bit here is that I started writing this, and the og caption said something like "I may need a break soon, have no inspiration and am flooded with school work" and then I never finished it. Oh, spoilers btw for TOA Pairing: Poly!Frazel x gn!reader, Frank Zhang x Reader x Hazel Levesque Request: would yall ever consider writing general dating hcs for poly! frazel? <;3 Word count: ~0.6k Warnings: None! -Asnyox

A poly relationship with Frank and Hazel would form a lot like how Hazel and Frank got together in the books. It was a bit clumsy, but at the time it also felt natural in a sense, and in the end you couldn’t imagine yourself without the two of them.

Early relationship would mean a lot of reassurance to each other of the love between the three of you. Frank is insecure, Hazel is conflicted with herself, and you don't know how to fix any of it. It's normal for a relationship, especially between three people who had not dated before.

After a while (read; after the prophecy of the seven) you guys finally got going stable. Mostly as Hazel was finally ready to move on from Sammy. There were no life threatening things going on anymore, just deadlines and new responsibilities for Frank as Preator.

Touch would be a big step in your relationship, such as holding hands or kissing. It wasn’t that any of you were adverse to it, but Frank lost it whenever he wanted to initiate anything- and became a blushing mess when kissed on the cheek. It took some getting used to, to be comfortable and learn about the boundaries. After that, it grew naturally. However, PDA is still not something any of you are strong on- partially because of embarrassment, and partially because Camp Jupiter is filled with very judgemental characters, and you all are aware enough to not try them.

Moving on from touch you all better learn how to communicate properly. Sure, ‘I love you’ is great and all, but are your needs being met? What is filling you with doubt? Any secrets you want to share? Each person in this relationship has learned that the only person you can rely on in the end is yourself and that needs to change. None of you are alone in the world, you don’t have one but two lovers, talk about it! Just! Talk!

Most of your dates would be rather conventional. Camp Jupiter has an entire city at its disposal - so that means you could go on dates and be safe whenever your schedules lined up. Imagine a lot of casual going outs- cafés, perhaps a museum (calling out the colonialism and questionable ways Camp Jupiter acquired the artifacts was a favorite pastime of yours, next to figuring out how Frank's ancestry could tie into certain artifacts. You would be surprised by how many people he was related to.)

Other types of dates would be doing things together- be it painting, watching a movie at home, cuddling or a board game. There was enough of the world to explore from your rooms, and the three of you were ready to explore it.

Another thing you picked up was training together, Frank wanted to explore more options as he figured out how exactly being a Mars kid would define him. This meant it was a nice challenge for Hazel and you to see if you could beat him.

When Hazel became a Preator too, your dating life became a little harder. When it was just Frank, you both could still hang out and often found ways to get him to take a break together. But now, both your lovers were swept away by their duties. More often than not, they would have excuses ready to keep working, and neither of them would even consider talking the other down. And the worst part? They now had a place of their own- which didn't have enough room for three people.

It was a rough patch in the relationship, but eventually your lovers came to see how they had been disregarding you, if not the entire relationship by extension. Romance wasn’t dead, it was simply buried beneath paperwork.

leo x piper is kinda my self-indulgent secret ship heh, it's nice to talk about it sometimes hgjfkl;

4. Their favorite show to watch together?

I think they would love watching stupid movies (romcoms or unnecessarily sentimental and cheesy) together not bc they like them but so that they could make fun of the lines/scenes together like best friends do (bc ofc they are best friends first, lovers later). leo mimicking them in his stupid way, and piper giggling and rofling about like a buffalo the way she can't before others. they are the kinda couple who would enjoy everything they watch together.

but their ultimate fav, repeat to 10000x movie list till they have memorized every line is HTTYD, cuz yeah, leo-hiccup, toothless-festus, and ig piper is a lot like astrid? AND DRAgons!!! so yeah their go-to, top-of-head movie when they are lazy to try something new

(the only thing they never watch is tristan mclean movies lmao)

14. Who falls asleep during a movie?

Neither, but on hectic days when they are super tired, both of them catch the sleep bug and fall asleep.

if Leo is first to wake up to find the movie is over, he'd pick up piper and carry her to their bed, taking care she doesn't wake up (watching her sleep is secretly his fav thing, yk cuz of piper's cute way of sleeping: "inhaling through the nose, exhaling with a little puff through the mouth" and "her hair looked like it had become a nest for a friendly hamster")

on the other hand, if piper is first to wake, she'd prob simply arrange some pillows for their necks and go back to sleep, snuggling into him bc no chance she is getting cold lol

which brings me to the next choice!

24. Sleeping/cuddling positions? (Big spoon, little spoon, etc.)?

ggfhjk i love this question specifically for this ship cuz Piper is 100% the little spoon!

iirc (forgive me my knowledge of HoO is getting rusty! seriously, it's time for a full reread T_T) both piper and leo are the same height, right? maybe as adults, leo gets a late growth spurt of a couple of inches over her (which is annoying cuz leo is finally taller but secretly she likes it, cuz perfect for a side snuggle)

even otherwise, piper is always, subconsciously snuggling into his side cuz he is so hot warm. even if he hasn't used his fire, there is always some residual warmth in him all the time, which she has got used to searching out for. say, if leo gets up in the middle of the night to drink some water/got a brand new design idea in his head he just has to jot down NOW,,, by the time he returns to bed, piper is completely rolled up in his side of the bed, searching for him in her sleep (he loves this habit of hers! it also probs makes him feel better about his fire too)

iirc, his mom's warehouse caught fire in the middle of winter, right?? ig he'd slowly come to like winters better, bc of piper snuggling more into him during winters agfhjk

and iirc, he likes to sleep with a hug pillow, right? his old hug pillow has been replaced by piper!

39. Do they get along with the other's family? If not, how do they deal with the other's family?

on leo's side, hephaestus will be very suspicious of the daughter of aphrodite (cuz of his own experience with her) but talking to piper, he will be slightly mollified abt her… yet, his advice for Leo always will be to trust his machines more than the human specimen of his girlfriend (ofc leo won't take it seriously)

//toa spoilers/// now josephine and hemithea are his foster mothers i am sure piper would get along with them super well as well <3

on piper's side, leo has already met Tristan in Lost Hero and knows him as piper's friend, so he'd be pretty much chill with what pipes does and who she dates,, he might try to give Leo The Talk as his duty as her father, but Piper would kick her dad out before that ever happens (Leo just being the awkward bean like during the whole helicopter ride in TLH lol)

oth, leo would be mildly (understated) scared of Aphrodite. if they ever meet her (by chance) he'd keep fidgeting and tapping 'i love you' on his jeans till piper clasps his hand and taps back 'it's okay' but i think aphrodite won't be as scary as leo imagines in his head; she'd probs find him amusing and intrigued that her daughter actually prefers leo over jason.

40. Who is the skilled shopper for holidays? Who always waits 'til the last minute to get all of their gifts? (Which one gets stressed out easily)?

piper! she won't--but she would use her charmspeak to bargain for the best prices in those overly expensive, money grabbing malls, something that leo always finds terrifyingly awesome lmao,, piper gets excited for holiday shopping and stuff whereas leo tags along obediently (and use his magic toolbelt to stove away the shopping bags lol)

leo always forgets all of the important days because of his adhd (extreme even by demigod standards) and piper, having known him for long, understands this and never gets mad or anything but he'd always feel guilty about this and makes up for it in a completely random surprise gift he handdesigns for her. Of course, piper loves his stupid (affectionately) and most times, completely non-functional (cuz Leo himself doesn't know what they do loool but they are always weirdly complicated) gifts so much! like say a music box that goes moo! but bake out fresh cookies lmao

The potential for Will and Nico being Star Wars fans in The Sun and the Star has my brain going crazy, so please enjoy the tale of how I think Will got Nico into it

Will lasts exactly three days into his friendship with Nico before making a Star Wars reference

It’s on Nico’s last day in the infirmary. Will, in trying to impress on Nico the benefits of adequate rest, tries to explain how much better he looks by saying he could pull the ears off a gundark

Nico just stares at him blankly before half-jokingly offering to take his temperature

And Will remembers, oh yeah, he grew up in the forties and spent most of his time in the twenty-first century among the dead

And Will is ecstatic

Because no one gets to experience Star Wars with no spoilers. No one

Needless to say Nico leaves the infirmary under strict orders to join Will in the Big House for one Star Wars movie every weekend until he’s seen them all

If you asked Nico what the plot of The Phantom Menace is, he’d never be able to tell you

Will, anticipating his confusion, explained everything to the best of his ability (no, it was not nervous babbling. It was explaining), but it was still a lot to take in. Also, Nico was mostly focused on the sound of Will’s voice and how close he was sitting

Attack of the Clones went similarly, although watching Anakin’s attempts to seduce Padmé did make Nico feel better about his own romantic crisis

He genuinely did get invested during Revenge of the Sith, mostly because Order 66 felt like familiar territory

(“You get so offended when I call you Death Boy, but this is what gets you interested?”) (“Listen. It’s more realistic now”)

As he gets more comfortable around Will and more invested in the story, he’s actually able to pay attention during A New Hope and his genuine interest in the saga begins

And then comes the moment Will has been waiting for

He literally cannot sit still for the entirety of The Empire Strikes Back

But honestly? It’s kind of a letdown

They get to the “Luke, I am your father” bit and Nico just goes, “huh”

“Huh? HUH?! Obi-Wan was lying the whole time! Luke’s father is alive! And he’s the galaxy’s second-most-evil-guy!”

“You’re talking to the guy who found out three years ago that his dad is the lord of the dead”

“…Huh”

Nico’s actually pretty sad when they finish Return of the Jedi, but this bittersweet feeling does not last long

One: because Will asks Nico out, so Nico gets to see him way more often outside of movie night

And two: at least a third of their dates are the two of them cuddled up making their way through every episode of the TV series

I’m gonna say one of the sequel trilogy movies comes out before ToA and they definitely sneak out to see it

Will probably bribes Nico to go with him as Han and Leia for Halloween

(You get to decide who’s who)

Will also definitely gives Nico the sand speech at some point and Nico gives him these flipflops for Christmas

Will laughs his head off and wears them every day in the infirmary

He probably wears them to Tartarus tbh

¤Percy and Annabeth are NO.1 Juniver [Grover x Juniper] is that the ship name?? fans.

¤Juniper and Grover are die hard Percabeth stans

¤Everyone in camp is.

¤When Annabeth/Percy starts feeling insecure, the other will list off things they like about them

¤Chris and Beckendorf get together to talk about their bad ass gfs

¤Clarisse is surprisingly good with making tea and always makes Chamomile for Chris hehe alliteration when he gets nightmares abt the labyrinth.

¤Despite being bad at every other school subject, Percy excels at lunch biology.

¤ That's why he takes Marine biology in uni

¤He is also very good at drawing portraits

¤Rachel holds painting classes for anyone wanting to learn

¤Nico likes lilac and jade

•Leo finds out his love for tea after accidentally picking up one of Frank's or Jason's mugs.

•Tea helps him relax

•He and Frank bond over it.

•Piper embraces make up after realising its not just about beautifying oneself for others and finds she really enjoys it and that she is very good bc Aphrodite

•She puts some eyeliner on Leo and he really likes it

•Frank turns into tiny animals to escape awkward social conversations

•Hazel tried straightening her hair and hated it immediately

~All the other cabins are jealous of Apollo's bc he's always visiting his kids and bringing them gifts.

~Apollo meets up with Rachel once a week for a Chat and Prediction[tm]. They discuss gossip and predict what will happen [w/out actual prophecies]

~Leo is prone to randomly hyperfixating and spending 4 days at a time on one project and forgetting everything else including to eat or properly sleep so during that time only his big sister Reyna can get him out.

~Everyone is always extremely stressed when she's not there

~Hazel's refusal to make things for herself with her powers is short, she eventually makes matching bracelets/anklets for her and Frank

~Regardless of what Rick wrote, Aphrodite is actually accepting of all kinds of love and is happy that her daughter is finding herself

~Leo is asexual im not a fan of calypso so 🤷‍♀️[and bi romantic, he had a tiny crush on jason at one point]

~Jason tries to visit Lupa at least once a year

~Leo's biggest regret is not coming sooner to see Jason one last time.

~Piper and Leo hang out a lot more after that

~Reyna is and will always be surprised how close she got to Artemis once she joined the Hunters

~Thalia and Reyna bicker so much no one believes they're besties [or more if ya want]

~Also they're on camp roomates (omg they were roommates😏)

~Nico is somehow always near or in the infirmary when Will is working. They're excuses are always either 'I have a doctors note' or 'he's my emotional support human.'

~Nico mocks Will's accent and vice versa

~Nico goes apeshit whenever someone else mimics an Italian accent

~Both Will and Nico will cry at Disney movies

~Will may be a healer but he will slice you open w a scalpel

This is all so far but I will be adding more when I get them =]

So I’ve tried to start tagging characters and ships in fanart reblogs (exclusively fanart), so you can look up the names of specific characters in my fandoms or (first and last) or if the character doesn’t have a canon last name, look up their first name followed by their fandom acronym.

I don't think it's the worst "finale" we could've gotten, but it's verily lackluster, considering how great the ending for og Trollhunters was.

I think the worst part is arguably the 'Unbecoming' part during the last 10 minutes, especially since Jim had finally gotten his amulet back and was REALLY ready to throw down again, just like the good old days.

The original series already showed us that Jim not being the Trollhunter wasn't destiny, so it sorta feels like a kick in the teeth for Jim to casually pass it on to Toby. I would want to think the implication is that Jim is going to bear the burden of knowing there was a worse outcome in the other timeline. But that still feels just as bad.

The idea is that the ENTIRE journey we all just went on was null and void. Did it happen? Yes, because Jim remembers by the end and he's going to use that knowledge to make this second shot better. But it feels so cheap at the end of the day.

It was like they wanted to write a little more tragedy into the show, but knew that they needed to give it a big send-off that would leave fans with some decent closure. Unfortunately, the closure comes in the form of having to accept that the massive journey you just went on has been forgotten.

Now, if this had branched into some mega version of "Unbecoming," where Jim has to face the consequences of his actions, I don't think that'd be a bad idea. But it ain't where the series ended, and thus, I don't like to consider the movie when I think about the series as a whole.

Besides the ending, I don't think the whole movie was bad. I thought the opening sequence with tryna get Nari to safety was cool and beautifully animated. There were a few scenes throughout the whole movie that I thought were fuckin dope, like the scene where Jim gets the amulet back while he's gonna fight Belroc. That whole sequence was very hype and it honestly felt earned.

The animation quality for the movie as a whole is immaculate. Nothing looks out of place as far as the original series goes, it just looks like they got a higher budget for the movie and told the animation team to go nuts. Again, it's gorgeous and I'm glad I watched it for the animation alone.

I have always had my faves and dislikes in the voice cast of ToA. Unfortunately, I still haven't gotten past the loss of Anton Yelchin for Jim. His new VA does a splendid job in his memory, but part of why I loved Jim so much in the original series was that passion from the late Anton. Of course, that's nothing that can be fixed. I have no issue with Jim's voice as it is, I just mourn what we've lost. Everyone else in the main cast does a great job, and I have a soft spot for Douxie especially. He was a beautiful addition to the franchise as a whole.

Besides that, I wouldn't want to rag on the movie fulltime besides saying the Steve and Aja sideplot was someone's disguised fetish, so I'm not commenting on that at all. I also thought Aja and Krel's presence in the movie was very weak, considering how fun a sideseries 3Below had been. The Varvatos mech was cool, even if it was just another Pacific Rim. Wish they'd been in the movie more as leading protags.

I'll write down one last thing: I thought the ending of Wizards ended kinda weak, considering how long it'd been since we saw Troll-Jim, and I personally would've loved to see more of that version of him before it got swept away in plot resolution. So not getting to see that side of him for the movie felt like a semi-loss. I don't mind that he got saved. Just that it was too soon and we could've seen more of that troll-ish side like we saw in the original series.

Overall opinion? Very poor quality close to the whole franchise. Not a terrible movie as a standalone. Good animation, bad writing choices. I don't personally think of it as canon, or accept it as a proper ending.

I can't think of much else to say, but if you wanted my opinion on anything I didn't say here, totally okay to respond or reblog with further discussion! The series as a whole means a lot to me and I enjoy talking about it, even if we do a little nitpicking.
