i was in the middle of class when i started reading the chapters where carton’s finalizing his plan to save darnay and got up to the point where carton visits darnay in his cell and he’s Beaming and asks darnay to take off his boots and i was FREAKING OUT. it was exactly what i feared was gonna happen that was so god damn sad i can’t stand it... when darnay was writing goodbye letters to all of his friends and loved ones and dickens said “he never once thought of carton. his mind was so full of the others, that he never once thought of him” that was so nasty. dickens is a musty bitch 💔

Bloom by Ab6ix - I was pretty hesitant to say anything about the song cause it's...a hidden gem? Like at the same time I wanna tell everyone about it (extremely underrated lol) but at the same time I wanna keep it to myself since it means a lot me and idk why I feel exposed and vulnerable when I tell someone about it... Is that normal? Beside it being my ultimate favorite Ab6ix song it also became my signature song which, no matter how many times replay it, it always gives me some sort of comfort and happiness
I Love You by Treasure - my current I wish for it to be forever favorite Treasure song. I adore this song in so many ways like I just love everything about it... Lyrics? Amazing! Choreography? I'M ADDICTED HOW PERFECT IT IS! Mv? MF LOVE IT! Beat? MY FAVORITE JESUS CHRIST I LOVE HYPED SONGS! Top of the Chain by Cravity - my favorite song on the album, this song is so mf powerful and for some reason it boosts my confidence like watch out world when I listen to TOTC it's over for y'all!! also the song itself deserves so much better like we DIDN'T EVEN GOT A MF DANCE PRACTICE STARSHIP BITCH DON'T MAKE ME COME FOR YOU!!!
Scent by I.M - no cause why does this song makes me "I have had the worst heartbreak in my life and now I'm exhausted cause I have been crying for the past 12 hours" kind of sad, but at the same time makes me peacefully happy and decreases my anxiety? And why do I adore listening to this song on repeat especially and only during the night?
Shoot Me by Day6 - PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT THIS SONG IS DEFINITION OF WORD PERFECTION, TRY TO CHANGE MY MIND!!! I remember the first time I watched the mv I was left completely speechless like my jaw dropped I almost dislocated it. MV IS A MF MASTERPIECE JESUS CHRIST!! Bad Dream by CIX - look it's one of my favorite CIX songs but idk how should I feel about it like I remember my first thought when I heard it was: "this song is beautiful and kinda makes me sad but it also makes me wanna dislocate my hips what do I do know?" but then again I still vibe to it whenever I hear it *sadly swaying my hips*
Green Light by BAE173 - PERFECT DRIVING SONG I SWEAR! I DON'T EVEN DRIVE YET IK THIS IS THAT DRIVING SONG. Every single time I listen to it I daydream about driving by the seaside just as the sun is about to set 💚 (maladaptive daydreamer in da house) It always successfully calms me down and stabilizes my heartbeat.

It automatically made me stan them which I do NOT regret at all! This song is God tier but ain't nobody is ready to have that conversation and it shows
Y U Comeback by 4Mix - I have been brainwashing myself with this song ever since I heard it (a week after it has been released because idk why I keep avoiding it even tho YouTube was like: "here, listen to this you will love it" but I was like nahh bitch) I swear have never thought that Thai Pop can slap THAT hard like biiitch why isn't it as popular as Kpop?! Especially these guys? Like, the have everything like JESUS CHRIST WHY ARE PEOPLE SLEEPING ON THEM?!?!

Get Smart!
Defining wisdom and foolishness according to Proverbs:
Before diving into defining wisdom and foolishness, it would perhaps be important to highlight, right from the beginning, what the entire book of Proverbs is working towards. In layman’s terms, the entire book screams, “wisdom, get it!” In more technical terms, the book begins by saying the point is to know wisdom and to increase in learning (1:1, 5). Further, it explains that the “fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge” (1:7), which sets the stage for our journey into how wisdom and foolishness described.
Kidner, in his commentary on the Proverbs, says that the wisdom is “God-centered, and even when it is most down-to-earth it consists in the shrewd and sound handling of one’s affairs in God’s world; in submission to his will” (Kidner, Proverbs: An Introduction and Commentary, TOTC, 14). Therefore, whatever we learn about wisdom and foolishness in Proverbs has this at its base, mainly knowing how to navigate life according to God’s design.  Kidner also sees wisdom as a thread that runs through the OT simply because “God is self-consistent” and is thus revealed in all of the “themes of history, law, prophesy and apocalyptic” (Kidner, 14) writings. Therefore, we can conclude, like the authors of our textbook, that “God is the source and giver of wisdom, and in the theological principle of the fear of the Lord rooted in Israel’s covenant relationship with Yahweh” (Hill and Walton, Survey of OT, 441).
One final note that I think it important and will greatly influence the 3 practical ways to grow in wisdom: Kidner mentions that we should not stop at the old covenant, but that “a greater than Solomon was to come, choosing to teach in the forms and rhythms of the wise and and carrying their /māšāl/ to its ultimate perfection in his parables” (Kidner, 16). In defining wisdom we must necessarily go to Christ, not only in the definition, but especially in the application. Jesus’ life, death, burial and resurrection is the ultimate portrayal of wisdom—a wisdom that seems like foolishness to men, but reveals God’s incredible plan of salvation (1 Cor 1:26-31) for His glory. Paul’s point is that wisdom means being in Christ Jesus, “who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption” (1 Cor 1:30) and that the overall purpose in all of this is that our “faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God” (1 Cor 2:5).
Wisdom: —hearing instruction (1:8) —listening to reproof (1:23) —understanding of God will come (2:5) —leads to understanding of righteousness, justice, integrity, knowledge, discretion, deliverance (2:6-22) —leads to favor and good success in the sight of God and man (3:4) —means not being wise in your own eyes (3:7) —wisdom is turning from evil (3:7) —accepting discipline as from the Lord (3:11) —being attentive to instruction (4:1) —in getting wisdom, not forgetting it (4:5) —avoid evil at all costs (4:15ff) —consider the wisdom God has put before you (example of the ant ch.6) —memorizing God’s Word and instruction (6:20ff) —defines wisdom as instruction that is better than silver, gold or jewels (8:10-11) —wisdom is discerning what God hates (8:13) —understanding God’s sovereign rule over our world (8:22ff) —defines wisdom as a banquet “come eat and drink” and “live and walk in the way of insight” (9:1-6) —wisdom is instructing others (9:8) —the wise study and invest in knowledge (10:14) —blameless, upright, seeking counsel, gives freely (ch.11) —loves discipline and loves knowledge (12:1) and is willing to discipline his children (13:24) —promotes humility over vanity (12:9) —wisdom is good sense that wins favor (13:15) —fear of the Lord (which leads to wisdom) is a fountain of life (14:27) —a gentle answer, a gentle tongue (15:4) —wisdom leads to rejecting bribes and being fair (15:27) —being instructed in wisdom by the fear of the Lord (15:33) —slow to anger (16:32); good sense makes one slow to anger (19:11) —loves at all times (17:17) —wisdom is knowing that God’s name is a strong tower and to run into it and be safe (18:10) —intelligence is acquiring knowledge, seeking knowledge which leads to wisdom (18:15) —wisdom will affect subsequent generations (20:7) —allowing the Lord to execute justice and waiting for His deliverance (20:22) —seeing danger and responding appropriately (22:3) —speaking rightly leads to worship! (23:16) —wisdom is knowing when to speak, when to stay silent (25:11) —wisdom leads to contentment and understanding who we truly are (chapter 30 in particular) —chapter 31 is a good description of wisdom in action
Fear of the Lord = a desire for instruction + a heart of humility + God’s design for life which results in wisdom
Foolishness: —listening to evil plans (1:10ff) —refusing to listen; ignoring counsel (1:24-25) —leads to being cut off and rooted out (2:21-22) —rejecting discipline (3:11-12) —crooked speech, devious talk, swerving to right or left (4:24-27) —following after temptation (all of chapter 5, chapter 7 and the example of the adulteress) —sowing discord, perverted desires, slumber, lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, heart that devices wicked plans, false witness, one who sows discord (6:12-19) —pride and arrogance (8:13) —describes Folly as a loud, seductive and knows nothing who calls to fools and entices the simple (9:13ff) —sluggard, perverse mouth, slander, quick to talk, slow to speak (ch.10) —violence, cruel, evil, belittles, lacking sense, lacking discretion (ch.11) —a fool hates reproof and is stupid (12:1) —what is right in your own eyes (12:15) —despises the word and brings destruction (13:13) —the fool spares the rod and hates his son (13:24) —relying on a way that seems right to a man that leads to death (14:12) —a fool oppresses people and insults his Maker (14:31) —manifests in being hot tempered and stirring up strife (15:18) —a fool rejects wisdom and despises himself (15:32) —arrogance in heart (16:5) —plots evil, spreads strife, dishonest, violent, ignores evil (16:27ff) —listens to evil lips (17:4), seeks rebellion (17:11) —doesn’t seek to understand anything (18:2) —desire without knowledge brings a man to ruin because of his folly (19:2-3) —the fool stops listening to instruction which leads to straying from the words of knowledge or rejecting wisdom (19:27) —making rash vows! (20:25) —haughty eyes and a proud heart (21:4) —failing to see danger, but running ahead (22:3) —oppressing the poor to increase wealth (22:16) —giving oneself over to addiction (23:20, 30): examples within Proverbs are wine/strong drink, but also the adulteress and the prostitute —repeating folly is like a dog returning to vomit (26:11) : a good description of someone who continually rejects wisdom —foolishness is lack of self-control (15:28) —forsaking the law and praising the wicked (28:4)
Foolishness = rejection of instruction + arrogance + rejection of God’s design for life which results ultimately in death
3 ways to grow in wisdom based on Proverbs
1. Seek out wisdom by gaining instruction —in humility and with great purpose and intentionality —look for wise counselors in my life and ask for help —never stop learning and growing in knowledge and wisdom
2. Seek out wisdom by starting first with the fear of God —reject the temptation to define wisdom internally and by myself —work diligently to understand God’s Word so that my thinking, behavior and emotions are changed by God, not by culture or faulty sources
3. Understand wisdom by linking Proverbs to Jesus (or reading Proverbs through the lens of Jesus) —1 Cor 1:26 to 2:16 “for we have the mind of Christ” —relying on the Holy Spirit to give understanding and significance when reading through Proverbs and working to apply wisdom to myself, my family, my church and my ministry

Sort of related to that, but the newest Tales of the City on Netflix is just so hilariously earnest and po-faced I can’t handle it.
I’m a huge fan of the books, but I only tuned in because I thought a narrative about a trans man possibly coming out as a gay post-transition was an interesting one to see.
And it’s dreadful, it sort of functions like a tumblr educational post. The way that the cis gay men around him are supportively neutral about his exploration process and positive about him coming out, the way that his cis girlfriend who has just agreed to an open relationship earnestly talks about how she misses being seen as a lesbian, it’s...you know, there is a fantastic movie to be made about this story, but you have to treat your characters as people rather than ideological widgets in which everyone is behaving correctly.
It’s queer-utopian to the degree of being actively unrealistic. Now, realistic doesn’t have to mean horrible. But the show just has everything just working out for the characters the way it’s supposed to, and it just doesn’t read as sincere. I didn’t see a story I could relate to.
~*~
A really good comparison point is actually Jake’s introduction in Michael Tolliver Lives, the book in which the character is introduced. Michael Tolliver is the author’s stand-in-self-insert who he’s been writing since 1970-something in a series of like, 7 books; he’s a HIV+ gay man and widower. Unique for the TOTC series, this story is written in the first person from Michael’s perspective.
Michael picks Jake up at a bar, they hook up, and afterwards stay friends and Jake becomes a series regular.
You’ve got Michael’s inner monologue of like, being worried that he’s going to mess up somehow and hurt Jake’s feelings, which reads as legit to me - he knows this isn’t as simple as a tumblr post about inclusion. And you’ve also got Michael making this strong connection between Jake’s transness and his own HIV+ status. Another guy at the gay bar outs Jake nastily to Michael when they’re in the loo; and it reminds Michael of the era in which people did that about him, when being HIV+ meant being a pariah. Michael thinks about how attracted he is to Jake, not only physically but also to his confidence, wondering how often he does this and knowing he is probably scared.
Maupin wrote the first trans character in american literature as far as we’re aware; he doesn’t always get it spot on, but his heavily autobiographical books always come from a place of inner truth and personal experience.
Like, I don’t want trauma porn or to see a character like Jake - my fave trans man in literature! not that there are many to choose from - harmed on screen, but I also don’t want this bland pollyanna-ish utopianism, especially when the original source handles this scene so well. I want complexity - I want conflict. Conflict doesn’t need to mean anger or violence, but it does need characters with fully-realised inner lives like...Jake and this random guy going home together, and the experience not being a simple one for either of them. It doesn’t need to show shame or abuse to be realistic, but it does need to be surprising or a moment of discovery, perhaps discovering something unexpected, or something that changes a person or is mixed, rather than just - and it was all OK. How often do trans people have sex with a stranger and the experience is one where “...but they supported and validated my gender identity, and that’s all I really needed, so I had a great time!” is the total reality of the experience.
And ditto with things like, the girlfriend’s response being so even-handely “I want to support him, but I miss being seen as a lesbian and I’m not sure how I feel about this being an open relationship” like, get angry, girl! Or, repress it. Or throw yourself into supportiveness as a cover for how you’re feeling. Or get a new girlfriend and have some proper poly drama. Or throw something at him, or throw him out, or endure it politely, or say no. Don’t just behave the way you’re supposed to in a single tell-not-show dialogue scene. Humans are messy! The conflict between what a person says they want and what they actually want is a ripe source for storytelling! What if the girlfriend has the worst possible response in the world, while knowing that it’s unethical and unkind, and her story is about trying to reconcile those two parts of her experience? I’d watch that.
(Case in point, I really love the protagonist’s wife in Victim (1961) - she’s a fantastic character, really nailing this middle ground where she doesn’t want to cause harm to her closeted husband, and she isn’t depicted as some kind of cludgel to beat the gay character for being destructively gay; but she’s still strong, about her own need to be in a real, mutual relationship, about feeling deceived. Perhaps the best line of dialogue in the film is hers, something like “I’m a woman, not a life raft, and I want to be loved for myself”. It’s fantastic writing, maintaining empathy for its closeted character in a way that’s radical for the period but also holding empathy for this wife as well, who quite rightly wants more from her life than to be a life-raft or a savior figure or a beard for this messy guy. idk how a 1961 movie arguing for gay rights has more compassion and understanding of the “ally spouse having a hard time with new information” character than a full 2010s series focused on queer people of all kinds)

Like saying “fin de siècle” when you mean “turn of the century” is unbearably pretentious-sounding unless you’re writing in an academic context but on the other hand it’s a time period I talk about a lot and I get tired of typing out “turn of the century”
Proposed solution: TOTC as an acronym for “turn of the century.” Cmon let’s get this popular

A recap of Christopher Nolan in Conversation at the Library of Congress (November 2, 2017)
General information
@a-forger-and-a-point-man told me about this event a couple of weeks before the tickets were released, and very luckily, I was able to grab a pair. I thought that there would be more seating due to it featuring Chris, but Coolidge Theatre at the LOC has less than 500 seats and between one-third to half of the seats were reserved for press, Congresspeople, and their guests. Needless to say, I was very lucky to be able to attend!
Chris is a member of the LOC’s National Film Preservation Board and as they were having meetings that week in DC, this was one of the public events that allowed them to more publically promote their mission and vision through a high profile event.
The discussion was hosted by Carla Hayden, the 14th Librarian of Congress. Sadly there were  no questions taken from the audience (even though I had prepped a couple) and the discussion was divided between film archivism and preservation, and Chris’ influences and inspirations in his work. While there wasn’t really much that hasn’t been said across various interviews, it was still a treat to be able to see him live and to get tidbits of new information that we didn’t have before.
There were two videos that were played before Chris came out for the discussion -- one about the state of film preservation in the US and around the world, and the other to introduce Chris’ work as a film-maker.
Chris was incredibly soft spoken and while I wasn’t super far back in the audience (it’s a small theatre!), it was occasionally difficult to clearly make out what he was saying. I took notes of the interview so I could write this recap, so hopefully the video turns up sometime and y’all have a chance to watch as well.
“Movies are the thing for me.”
The first series of questions were about Chris’ early influences. He cited Star Wars as the first film that really captivated him and all his friends -- he was 7 at the time of its release and watched it no less than 12 times in theatres. Apparently that was the thing every single one of his friends did that year, take everyone to go see Star Wars for their birthdays! Chris noted that the accessibility of film has drastically changed since he was a child, because one of the reasons everyone went to see Star Wars in theatres so often was because it wasn’t accessible outside theatres.
After geeking out about Star Wars for quite a few minutes, Chris remarked on two notable films that were released when he was about 12 -- Alien and Blade Runner -- which was the first time he connected with the concept of film-making as a form of storytelling, and thereby the role of a film-marker as a storyteller. The discussion then moved on to how Chris connected with film-making as the mode of storytelling he prefers (specifically, building out screenplays). This is as opposed to writing a novel, and he flat out said that he doesn’t think he’s the type of person who’d be able to sit down and write a novel to tell a story.
One of the things he really enjoys about storytelling via filmmaking, especially the way he makes films, is how there is a whole universe of the film that needs to be filled out by a team of people outside the screenplay itself. As an aside -- this is most obvious in Inception, where so much collateral was released after the film, built out schematics of the PASIV and the mechanics of dreams with dreams in dreamsharing. He and his brother had spent 10 years building that world in order to construct a screenplay that would be able to accurately reflect the realities of that world and convey it to us, the viewers, in a way that could be understood. This is what makes him such a special and great storyteller, his special dedication to this level of detail, but also the fact that he specifically said it would take a team to build out these stories. One of the things I hope to write about still is how much Chris trusts the actors he casts and how the most interesting characters he writes are ones where he lets the actors fill in the space around them, dictate their motivations, rather than have the plot drive what their characterization should be. (But that’s for another time!)
Though speaking of Inception -- at this juncture, before the next question, Carla pulled out her “own, personal copy of Inception” from underneath her question pad and I absolutely screamed inside!! Me: GIRL GET IT!!!
The conversation then moved on to how Chris worked, specifically with film, and Chris expressed an admiration for how old silent Hollywood films were made due to having to rely on movement in order to convey the story (he cited the physicality of the wave of the soldiers ducking in Dunkirk as an example), and the photographic quality of the film. As we know, Chris still heavily relies on film when he works, and he says every single first showing of a movie he makes, he physically cuts up all the film to tape the edits/scenes together and put it through a projector - he loves when the sound of the film snags and get crowded up because he considers it part of the first-screening process.
He then used the word “specificity” twice, enunciated with such a sharp, Arthur-like precision that I died inside and didn’t hear what he actually said.
Chris said that he greatly admired digital technology in making films more accessible to wider audiences. However, he’s concerned about how the process of film-making transitioning to digital was going to affect the archival/preservation of the film for the future. He mentioned that while right now he is able to transfer his film from one format to another and then review the quality, but he also noted that with each progressive transference there would be a loss in quality. The discussion moved onto his work with the Film Preservation Board and the importance of physical film as a means of storage since data can corrupt and with the rate of technological advancement, formats become outdated at progressively faster rates.
Carla’s next question was if Chris read, and Chris abashedly (and maybe cheekily) confessed that he probably didn’t read as much as he should. (which---same.)
“I’m more film-literate than literate-literate.”
Chris noted that he didn’t go to film school, and though he pursued his degree in English literature, he had mostly chosen his topic of subject because he wanted to learn what he needed to apply as a storyteller. He then connected themes he frequently uses in his own storytelling to Chaucer (which, he noted, were the themes most great films explored) -- the psychological component of storytelling and how important it is to write characters who are driven through their actions.
He also said that while writing TDKR that it was mentioned to him that the plot was quite like The Tale of Two Cities and he was all like, “Yeah!” but then realized he didn’t actually read TOTC [RIP]. Chris read it while finishing the script for TDKR. He says now TOTC is his favorite book and joked he figuratively ripped off all of it to make TDKR.
Next, Carla moved the conversation on to his latest project, Dunkirk. Chris then said what he’s mentioned throughout the promotion -- about how the event has great weight in British culture. He conveyed that while the story was widely known, growing in Britain, people really had a fairy tale version of the story rather than really understanding the physicality and gravity of what the civilian sailors had gone through. He again mentioned that about 23 years ago, he and Emma had sailed across the channel in the time of year close to the event and felt that the trip was very “harrowing” and “life-threatening”, and he came away from with a sense of incredible wonder about what the civilians faced, going into war to rescue these soldiers. He noted that it was one of the few stories of civilians coming together to achieve something great (what he had often called “collective heroism” during promo).
Carla asked if was difficult to work on a film in which he wasn’t able to build the world from scratch to his liking, and Chris said it was a refreshing change of gears because usually he puts so much into the world-building and Dunkirk was more like discovery -- he had all the pieces he needed, because it was authentic and on-location, so that already gave him a jump-start. He only found it daunting because it was a treading on scared ground and he wanted to make sure he did the story justice.
As for his next project... that’s still up in the air! He says he doesn’t know yet but I have a feeling he’s just being tight-lipped :) (Plus he still has to focus on promo round two for award season!)
Finally, winding down, he mentioned his kids and how he has them watching silent films at home now (smirk) and now they give him advice now about his films.
He was also asked about what he looks for in actors, and in Dunkirk he mentioned he wanted to cast actors who accurately reflected the ages of the kids they sent to war. He noted it was a bit of a challenge because lots of actors in that age range (18-early 20s) were still in film school and didn’t have an agency yet and how there’s this Hollywood thing, oooh are they good enough to act in a movie? It’s funny because we send them to war, and we’re worried they can’t act?! Ha! He was pleased that it was a great mix of new faces and very experienced actors. In particular, he talk about how Mark Rylance especially was able to take Tom Glynn-Carney and Barry Keoghan under his wing. The various levels of experience in the cast was able to give Dunkirk that great mix of experience and technique mixed with “raw, magical talent.”
The last two questions he was asked -- his advice for filmmakers, which he groaned about, and his top three most influential films “of all time” (for him!) which was event worse.
His advice? When he was starting out, someone told him “be very lucky” which, well -- good luck on that! But for practical advice, he said: get yourself a script, hang onto it, and make it authentic.
As for his top three movies? Star Wars (duh), Blade Runner, and -- he didn’t want to pick a third sci-fi movie because he felt like it would be inauthentic to the fact that he has multiple other influences as a film-maker, he picked The Thin Red Line by Terrence Malick. I think he might’ve picked a fourth but I couldn’t make it out.
Super lovely evening and Chris and Carla had great rapport. I’ll post the video if/when it shows up!

Goodbyes sounds right up my alley cause it sounds like that good angst
Hehehe it’s definitely angsty! Goodbyes is the working (and possibly final) title of Top of the Class part 11, basically a second break-up since the first break-up had no resolution (spoilers for the series, I guess? but we all knew where it was going lol). I am hopefully going to have an update posted soon-ish (once I re-read through the whole thing to make sure what’s about to happen actually makes sense). Here is a snippet:
“I’m going to miss you, you know,” he says, resting his chin atop her head. “You’re…you’ve been…” His voice catches, and he stops.
“I’m going to miss you too,” she murmurs.
He pulls her a bit closer.
“I think I may have fallen in love with you, given the chance.” Her voice is muffled against him, and she feels an odd pulse in her chest. The truth, now she’s admitted it, is no longer quite so terrifying.
There’s silence for another beat, and she tries not to think about the after.
“I think I may have, too.”

Maybe i'm in denial, but I still don't think Apritello is canon. April is just teasing with Donnie (because the writers suck, girls don't act like that at all). Unless they become an official couple those "apritello moments" are just teasing. The same with Capril. Plus I don't think Casey likes April anymore. He seems more interested in Karai, which is totally weird!
Yeah I’m waiting for when they actually state it’s canon in-show. Honestly considering things it actually makes me ill they way they’ve handled making this ship canon. It’s like the writers don’t really care and are at this point just giving the loudest fans what they want.
And yeah they’ve screwed over Casey as well, they pretty much dropped the love triangle focus in S4 and haven’t made an effort to resolve it properly. Closest we had to it being brought back up was when they went and made Donnie look more like a smug jackass for no reason by sticking his tongue out at Casey for the assigned teams in ToTC. And I’m not sure why they had that venomous kiss in S3 aside from maybe showing how Karai likes to toy with boys, brainwashed or not.
Honestly I think I’ve stopped caring. I can’t even be bothered to watch S5 in full, it’s sitting there in my iTunes library and I’m starting to regret showing support for the show buying the volumes considering how they’ve handled their “closure” of the series. It makes me sad. I really enjoyed the show in the beginning but the writing just feels like it’s getting lazier and lazier. I have fanfiction for Capril and the episodes before City at War to still enjoy. Everything after just feels disconnected of heart.

Chasing Kade by Anna Paige
March 17
My Review
Kade and Aubrey had an awesomely intense relationship. The pages were on fire once they get together. I loved the way he goaded her. She knew just how to handle him too. Kane was a sweetheart. I’m so glad we got ourselves the first Thrill of The Chase story. I’ve wanted to know more about them since I read All the Broken Pieces. Loved this story!
* I voluntarily read an advanced reader’s copy of this book*
Title: Chasing Kade
Series: Thrill of the Chase #1
Author: Anna Paige
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: March 17, 2017
Blurb
There's no such thing as too much fun…
Wrong.
Incredibly, immeasurably, categorically false.
Try: It's all fun and games until someone ends up in the tabloids.
Again.
Kade Edenfield was rock royalty. If every rock god in history gathered for dinner, his seat would be at the head of the table. He was that good. His band was elevated to a level few ever reached, and he was having the time of his life.
Until one misstep too many landed him on the front page of every gossip rag around the globe, and the band's label decided to saddle them with a PR priss whose sole mission in life was to suck the fun right out of his.
He wanted her gone.
Until he realized he just plain wanted her.
Aubrey Taylor didn’t ask to be assigned to babysit a band full of troublemakers, but she wasn’t given a choice. Wanted or not, she intended to fix the mess they’d made. She’d do it quickly, efficiently, and then she’d get the hell out of there. Unfortunately, after meeting their openly hostile singer—the one with the notoriously menacing stare—it was clear she was in over her head. When Kade made a point to challenge her at every turn, unafraid of using intimidation to get her to back down, she found herself in even deeper trouble.
While she ‘officially’ resented and feared him, their power struggle secretly turned her on.
She desperately wanted to win their little standoff, but what was she supposed to do when she realized she wanted him even more?

Excerpt
I turned back to the table, not wanting to look at Kade. "Are you aware of how many groups have formed strictly for the two of you?" I asked Kane, navigating away from the hoo-ha pic as quickly as possible and looking up the largest group I'd found. "This one is dedicated strictly to the pursuit of 'doubling down' with the Edenfield twins. It's scary how many thousands—thousands—of members are in this group. All looking to hook up with the two of you. I only found it because the recent pics of Kade have been photoshopped so many times by this group. They're using a mirror image of Kade, shifting it until it looks like both of you are there, then adding themselves to the pic so they appear to be sandwiched between the two of you. And some of them look startlingly real. That's how I discovered the group to begin with, I was half-convinced the pics were genuine when I first saw them."
My fingers flew over the keys, navigating the discussion boards. "They even have 'elite' and 'platinum' members who all swear they have hooked up with at least one of you—those are platinum—and sometimes both of you—that would be the highly-coveted elite status." I rolled my eyes, scrolling the list. It was suspiciously long, which made it even less believable than it already was.
Kane leaned over, eyeing the list. "I'd like to think I'd remember all of those."
"Yeah, but a few might be legit." This from Kade.
Kane and I both spun to look at him.
"The fuck, dude?" Kane cut his eyes to me. "That's on the 'need to know' list and she didn't need to know."
I sat there for a minute trying to school my expression so that they couldn't see the shock on my face. My mind was trying to formulate a response but I couldn't conjure a single appropriate reaction.
"Oh, I'm sure she already knows all of our dirty little secrets. How else can she be expected to fix us if she doesn't know exactly how fucked up we really are?" He glared at me. "Bet that's why she's so afraid. She's seen all the skeletons in the closet."
"She didn't know, dumbass. Look at her.” Kane sounded concerned enough that I was momentarily convinced he’d start snapping his fingers in my face to try and check my response. “She's… I don't know what to call it… stunned? Appalled?" "Intrigued?" Kade hungrily dragged his gaze along my face and neck.
Author Bio
Anna Paige is the author of the Broken series; Broken Ground, Flawlessly Broken, and All the Broken Pieces, as well as the Thrill of the Chase series. The first TotC novel--Chasing Kade--is releasing in March. She lives in a rural town in North Carolina where the only activity is the rhythmic color change of the solitary stoplight and a very real threat of being carried away by mosquitoes. The only alternative to terminal boredom is writing, making life interesting if only on the page. Anna is happily married, with one amazing son and a pair of hilarious pets. When she’s not writing, she’s trying to make a dent in her TBR pile. Given that she’s constantly adding new titles to the list, the chances of her ever finishing are slim. And she’s completely fine with that.

incomplete list of aus/fics im writing or at least attempting to write
-classicaloid-esque crossover au, featuring magical composer! erland, cronus, kyousuke, white owl, and kaede. possibly more will be added bc character plays music + is cute = i thirst. also w bonus time traveling confused hans, jackberline detective team cameos, possibly studra and juzo, and hype and kam’s modern day kanae expy doppelgangers
-henshin au (”i dont even know”)- self insert is a kamen rider ghost-esque sorta person, kinda like a roommate au with the magical ghosts of mozart, don juan, and more as the series progresses. also the croneahans trio are there, hans as the first wielder who was unable to use it once you take over, and cro and nea as the hot alien rivals
-rewritten gbboa- basically the same circa 2009 fic, but making slightly more sense- scooter is a human rather than dog, dakota (and maybe sakura) is there, and everyone behaves more like real people rather than whatever the heck. theres less unnecessary angst and more jojo references. featuring kak as the adopted son of like the whole dead totc crew (minus little gaspard, who sees him as an older bro), kastor joining the live kid trio (w lil lucie and lil jerry)
-various loid aus and fics- angsty motes au is kinda trash but w/e. idk if ill work on it again? maybe if i get inspired to? theres also the dating sim which may continue if i get the inspiration for it? ngl i kinda probably owe several peeps the cho chapter and i would love to write the liszt one bc she deserves it. beet’s will be fun to if i ever get around to it
-misc fgo stuff- lol ill be lucky if i do anything as straightforward as the salter fic. maybe eventually ill do the “shuten and maeve are bros” fic since ridertoki was the second rider event i completely missed but 100%’ed the rerun of. (wonder if thatll be bb next time lmao) also kiyo time would be fun to do, but that would likely just be a joke sorta thing. andersen shouting “twilight isnt literature”, para accidentally bodyswapping kiyo and mashu, idk stuff like that
-misc other rpg crew stuff- idk its kinda whatever too? i guess theres demon tanjiro au, which is just ficlets, someday maybe ill write more rillian too. and theres also arisato’s backstory which was fun last january to do when i started bta
-aime-tachi. i was saving it for last bc its the weirdest fking one and for some reason im actually serious about writin it all down. i even figured out a way to make the final boss fight work (mostly rockys senpai not revealing aaaanything bout himself and ayers at the end taking care of him bc ayers is too good too pure). but oh well even if it never gets off the ground its a good exercise and pretty fun. i hope i get more comfy w the kh characters bc the sequel would be so fun to write. hans warming up to everyone, aime being the emotional support, and not to mention cb, mi/mu and more worlds, mcu saltiness, lIGHTNING AND LOKI AS MAIN CHARACTERS duuuude theres so much i wanna do w it
