Karine Sergerie was born in 1985 in Sainte-Catherine, Quebec. In 2007, Sergerie became the first female Canadian to win a world title in Tae Kwon Do. By that point, she had already won a silver medal at the 2003 world championships and bronze at the 2005 world championships. At the 2008 Olympics, Sergerie won the silver medal in the women's 67kg event. At the 2011 world championships, she won another bronze medal, and she represented Canada once again at the 2012 Olympics. Sergerie retired in 2014.
I felt I didn’t do good on the test, though I did feel like I got the movement down better with my arms. My kicking was a B and I hit the breaking board so hard it flew out the person holding it’s hands and almost hit someone.
