More Trolls Character Fusions
A continuation of my SU inspired Trolls fusion list. Note that when two trolls from the same tribe fuse, they just become a bigger version of their species. When trolls from different tribes fuse, they gain extra limbs and appendages.
Biggie + Cooper = Big C. A fluffy, muppetesque llama centaur. with four stumpy legs, long furry midsection, and extendible arms. Covered in blue fur with indigo dreadlocks. Always smiling and making jokes. Uses he/him pronouns.  Song style is based on Tiny Tim and Weird Al Yankovic.
Poppy + Viva = Star. I hope this isn’t presumptuous, but I’m seeing them as friends. The fusion has dark pink skin, star-shaped orange hair, and a white leotard with a blue tutu. Also has stockings with dance slippers. Partly inspired by Rainbow Quartz. Voiced by Selena Lopez. Uses she/her pronouns.
Reggaeton Trio (Tresillo, Marimba, Tambora) = Taino. Named after the Indigenous people of Puerto Rico. Androgynous features, Pastel body with tie-dye patterns. Uses they/them pronouns. Speaks mostly in Spanish.
K-Pop Sisters = Korea. Inspired by the five Ruby fusion. Big, shiny, with pastel rainbow hair and an all-white leotard. Uses she/they pronouns. Speaks mostly in Korean.
Branch + Hickory = Brick. Incredibly handsome, with four arms, green skin and dark violet hair styled in a cowlick. Wears a vest made from orange leaves and black pants. Uses he/they pronouns. Music style based on early Elvis. Also sounds like Elvis.
Branch + Barb = Screech. (This fusion is strictly platonic, I wouldn’t ship these two if you paid me.) Dark blue skin, four eyes, gigantic indigo mohawk. Wears black leather jeans and denim vest. Inspired by the SU fusion Sugalite. Uses the pronoun It. Warlike berserker. Song styling is Goth Rock.
Barb + Hickory = Studly. (I can picture these two as friends) Goat centaur with light orange skin, shaggy red hair that covers his eyes, and two left arms. Wears a brown vest and studded wristbands. Hunky stud. Uses he/they pronouns. Very Tarzan-like, even speaks in third person. Grows more savage the longer they’re fused.  Song style (surprisingly) is Tibetan Throat Singing
Hickory + Poppy + Branch = Blum. Something special for my favorite ship. Named after the German word for Flower. Beautiful deer centaur with brown skin, CYM streaked hair, three yellow eyes with pink petal eyelashes. Uses neopronouns ee/em/eir. Very kind and loving. Speaks in rhyme. Song styling is folk covers.

shameless promotion of my haitian shepard’s hcs here annddd onto more haitian shepard hcs bc i say so
•OK SO haiti is a pretty colorful country and theres just a lot of vibrant colors so i hc that tim would have vibrant colors here n there in his drawings
•adding onto that last one, tim would have mostly African, Taino, and European elements in his drawings/paintings bc haiti’s culture has a mix of those 3 for the most part
•basically what im saying is tim has very cool drawings that in some way shape or form reflect his own culture
•same thing w curly and sculptures/sculpting
•after new year’s day, on january 1st u can bet the shepards r still celebrating bc its haiti’s independent day :DDD
•there’s always fucking rice in their house???u dont like rice???too bad, eat up
•ok as kids was never allowed to go to sleepovers, but over time her mom was more lenient bc she realized sleepovers were just part of the american culture (feels so weird to say that LMFAOOO)
•i mean that last hc rlly only impacted angela more than it did tim and curly but shush
•religion is important in the culture and the shepards all grew up with christianity (specifically catholicism) and they would not leave the damn church until it was the middle of the mf day
•angela makes good ass diri djondjon, its canon now
•family is pretty much valued in the culture so uhh being protective of each other was instilled in their heads very young
•at some point theyve come across pics of their mom at carnivals back in haiti and she just looks rlly pretty and so do all the ppl in the costumes they just all look like they r having fun

Drehorte in Mittelamerika virtuell erleben
Tumblr media
Jurassic Park (Costa Rica)

Terminator 6: Dark Fate (Guatemala)
A place in the Caribbean (Honduras)
[TASK 053: THE IROQUOIS CONFEDERACY]
Shout out to @olivaraofrph for inspiring and helping compile this task! There’s a masterlist below compiled of over 100+ Iroquois faceclaims categorised by gender with their occupation and ethnicity denoted if there was a reliable source. The Iroquois are a historically powerful Northeast Confederacy, existing in precolonial Native America to present. The Iroquois are not one tribe but compose of what are referred to as the 'Six Nations', who share a similar culture and language: the Mohawk, Onondaga, Oneida, Cayuga, Seneca, and Tuscarora. If you want an extra challenge use random.org to pick a random number! Of course everything listed below are just suggestions and you can pick whichever character or whichever project you desire.
Any questions can be sent here and all tutorials have been linked below the cut for ease of access! REMEMBER to tag your resources with #TASKSWEEKLY and we will reblog them onto the main! This task can be tagged with whatever you want but if you want us to see it please be sure that our tag is the first five tags!
THE TASK - scroll down for FC’s!
STEP 1: Decide on a FC you wish to create resources for! You can always do more than one but who are you starting with? There are links to masterlists you can use in order to find them and if you want help, just send us a message and we can pick one for you at random!
STEP 2: Pick what you want to create! You can obviously do more than one thing, but what do you want to start off with? Screencaps, RP icons, GIF packs, masterlists, PNG’s, fancasts, alternative FC’s - LITERALLY anything you desire!
STEP 3: Look back on tasks that we have created previously for tutorials on the thing you are creating unless you have whatever it is you are doing mastered - then of course feel free to just get on and do it. :)
STEP 4: Upload and tag with #TASKSWEEKLY! If you didn’t use your own screencaps/images make sure to credit where you got them from as we will not reblog packs which do not credit caps or original gifs from the original maker.
THINGS YOU CAN MAKE FOR THIS TASK -  examples are linked!
Stumped for ideas? Maybe make a masterlist or graphic of your favourite Iroquois faceclaims. A masterlist of names. Plot ideas or screencaps from a music video preformed by a Iroquois artist. Masterlist of quotes and lyrics that can be used for starters, thread titles or tags. Guides on Iroquois culture and customs.
Screencaps
RP icons [of all sizes]
Gif Pack [maybe gif icons if you wish]
PNG packs
Manips
Dash Icons
Character Aesthetics
PSD’s
XCF’s
Graphic Templates - can be chara header, promo, border or background PSD’s!
FC Masterlists - underused, with resources, without resources!
FC Help - could be related, family templates, alternatives.
Written Guides.
and whatever else you can think of / make!
MASTERLIST!

HBO Max New Releases: June 2021
https://ift.tt/3fGdjnz
TV had the run of the place for awhile there during the pandemic. But now that vaccinations are speeding up and the weather is warming, it’s film’s time to shine. At least that’s the conclusion that can be drawn from HBO Max’s list of new releases for June 2021.
There are no real original TV series of note coming this month, which is highly unusual for HBO and HBO Max. In their place, however, are some really impressive film offerings. Major Warner Bros. titles like The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (June 4) and Lin-Manuel Miranda’s In the Heights (June 11) both arrive this month. So too do some interesting documentaries like Revolutionary Rent on June 15 and LFG on June 24. The former deals with the staging of the musical Rent in Cuba and the latter follows the U.S. women’s soccer team’s fight for equal pay.

By Rosie Fletcher

The Conjuring 3 Sheds Light on Arne Cheyenne Johnson Trial That Rocked Connecticut
By Tony Sokol
The library movie offerings this month may be even more noteworthy. All eight Harry Potter films come to HBO Max on June 1. If you want to have a marathon be quick about it since they all leave at months end. June 1 also sees the arrival of Doctor Sleep, The Green Mile, Eyes Wide Shut, and more.
Here is everything else to expect in June 2021.

Carnival is among major cruise lines that have suspended operations from U.S. ports of call for 30 days due to the COVID-19 pandemic. SHARON TURNER When Hurricane Dorian unleashed its fury on Grand Bahama, commercial cruise travel to the island was suspended for almost two months. And now six and half months later, the island which has been working to rebound from Dorian’s impact is once again faced with a blow to its economy now that major cruise lines which service the region have temporarily halted sailings due to the impact of COVID-19. Last Friday, the Cruise Lines International Association (CLA) announced that CLA ocean-going cruise lines were “voluntarily and temporarily suspending cruise ship operations from U.S. ports of call for 30 days as public health officials and the U.S. government continue to address COVID-19”. Also suspended until April 10 are sailings of the Grand Celebration to Freeport, a Bahamas Paradise Cruises vessel which brings both day passengers and much-needed stopover visitors to the island. When Perspective visited the Freeport Harbor yesterday, the eerie silence of an industry on pause prevailed, and in wet dock were the Carnival Magic and the Carnival Conquest. On Saturday, taxi drivers at the harbor were preparing to take their last fares of cruise passengers from the Celebration and shared with us their thoughts, which ranged from shock and concern to hopeful resignation about the inevitability of the decision on the part of the cruise industry. Kavis Ferguson, a taxi driver of 10 years, said, “It hurts but we expected this to happen in order to control this crazy disease. “I feel it hard because everybody is still in recovery mode,” he said of the impact for his storm-ravaged island, “and we were just starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel where the boats just started coming back on a regular basis.” Shaking his head in exasperated wonderment, Sonless Martin offered, “Somber, we feel somber.” A taxi driver of 12 years, Martin shared his concern about what could occur if Grand Bahama has a COVID-19 outbreak. “It’s just a wait and see right now,” he reasoned. “If we come to work and there is nothing to do, we’ve got to find something else to do — if there is something else to do — because if this island is locked down with a quarantine, we would have to stay home as well.” For Lakezia Rolle, an officer in the Grand Bahama Taxi Union, relying on alternative trades and honing new skills will be her mainstay until the cruise lines recommence sailings to the island. “This has taken us by surprise because we are still in the midst of Dorian devastation and we are trying to cope,” she said with a calm sigh as though working to take in the gravity of the situation. “A lot of people are shaken up but I am sharing with my drivers that we are to allow God to be our source, [and] we just have to take the necessary sanitary precautions.” Sanitary precautions were the punchline of a spontaneous joke among drivers during a moment of levity after one driver stood in close proximity to another. The towering jokester and 18-year taxi veteran, Brain Finley, became serious as he disclosed his fears about COVID-19 and the impact it could have on tourism and its stakeholders. “We are at the forefront of the industry as taxi drivers and we are the first persons who meet the guests when they come off the ship so it is really frightening,” he shared. Finley added, “Sometimes when you come to work you are wondering, but now I drive with my windows open so if anyone coughs, hopefully it will go out the window.” Like all other drivers we spoke to, everyone expressed hope that a COVID-19 case would not appear in The Bahamas, a hope that was no doubt dashed with yesterday’s announcement of one confirmed case on New Providence. A short distance away, Celebration passengers Deborah Deming, Tim Munjar and the couple’s two children from Paradise, California, were making their way to their bus en route to a day at the beach, and told us they felt safe on the short voyage to Freeport notwithstanding fears about the COVID-19 pandemic. Deming revealed, “It was pretty empty [on board]. I think the ones who are really healthy are on the boat and the ones who are not are at home. “It’s coming no matter where you are,” she surmised, “so you’ve just got to be prepared.” “We have to regroup” For a number of businesses on the island, cruise passengers provide the lion’s share of revenue, and for Pirates Cove Zipline and Water Park on Taino Beach, the cruise line suspension will result in the business temporarily closing its operations as it seeks to market offerings to locals. David Wallace, the operation’s president and CEO, took Perspective on an impromptu tour of the facilities, explaining that the suspension of cruise service was an eventuality his team anticipated. He noted, “It is going to impact the operations at Pirates Cove greatly; 95 percent of our business here is not only tourism-related but predominantly cruise line-related, because as you know the challenge of Grand Bahama is we do not have a major number of hotel guests flying in. “Today we will shut our doors and see what we can do along the local standpoint.” Pirates Cove has 26 permanent employees and approximately 20 vendors and vendor employees. According to Wallace, 10,500 tourists visited the park in January, which sees admissions of between 6,000 and 14,000 tourists monthly, all of whom travel to the park via tour bus or taxi. Bringing those guests to the park via tour bus is Forbes Charter which, according to the company’s President Headley Forbes, has 54 employees with whom he will meet this week to discuss the ever-changing developments. “What the cruise lines did was the best decision,” Forbes asserted. “All of our business comes from cruise passengers [so] we are just going to have to regroup and wait. “There is nothing, really, we can do but try to stay safe.” For the government-owned Grand Lucayan property now under a sale agreement with Holistica Destinations, the fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic only exacerbates the island’s existing problems within its tourism plant. Lucayan Renewal Holdings Chairman Michael Scott said, “Of course the Grand Lucayan is going to suffer as it is a hobbled property. “I am [hopeful] we turn the corner on this within the next month or two. But like SARS, [MERS] and Ebola, this too will pass.” Meantime, in response to concerns expressed on the island by employees in the island’s industrial sector about protocols for contact with crew members onboard cargo vessels which travel from around the world, we questioned Health Minister Dr. Duane Sands, who said, “[Crew members] have the same restrictions as visitors. “We require the International Maritime Declaration; it is reviewed and determines who gets pratique.” Pratique is permission granted to a ship to have dealings with a port. Panic shopping It was a virtual ghost town of a scene Saturday afternoon at the Port Lucaya Marketplace which sits across the street from the Grand Lucayan. Straw market vendors sat and talked amongst themselves while others were preparing to close up for the day. One such vendor, Dell Whyms, greeted us with a warm smile and joked that though “we are not supposed to shake hands”, she would offer us a handshake anyway. “I’m fine with the [cruise suspensions] because it is to protect us and this is a lesson that we need to learn how to save,” she replied to our questions, pointing out that she has been in the business part-time since 1994 and entered her stall full time two years ago after ending her 18-year career at the Grand Lucayan. “I’m not so much worried about the virus but the aftermath that will come,” Whyms explained, “because if it comes here and we shut down, how will we make it if nothing is coming in? That is my biggest fear.” Steps away, Antoinette Smith, who spoke with us in a previous interview, briskly offered “we don’t like it”, as her response to the cruise line developments, but she quickly softened to share a more sober perspective. With a can of Lysol spray conspicuously in the background, Smith stated, “Business just started to pick up and we were looking forward to making some money but there is nothing that you can do. “Just like how we came through Dorian, this too will pass,” she said assuredly. “I was home for three months after the storm so it’s the same thing and in Matthew my entire stall got wiped out and I was home for six months. “I’m not stopping my life because of this; you’ve still got to go on.” Going on without cruise business for now is what long-time vendor Don told us he is fully prepared to do, as he would rather protect his health than make a few dollars during this period. “Everybody has to re-adjust and nobody wants to get sick,” Don stressed. “I had been in hospital for a while and I don’t need to go back there [so] let me take my 30 days and wait it out.” He recalled, “How we just had a hurricane, I don’t want to go through any more pain [and] if people are dying from [COVID-19], I don’t need to close my eyes to it.” It was a slow day at Freeport Jewelers as workers prepared to close, with Manager Loren Madu telling us that the effect of the cruise passenger fall-off could already be felt at the establishment which will now look to run marketing campaigns to attract local shoppers. “It is going to impact the business greatly,” she maintained. “In Grand Bahama, Bahamians are occasion shoppers [and] with the tourists coming in every day there’s a greater chance of us making more money.” She added, “We can feel the effects of it already coupled with the hotel because we were never really up with business flowing the way it used to be before, and it won’t be until this hotel opens. “A customer that stays overnight is always a better customer who can think about that big purchase and sleep on it,” Madu pointed out, “but if you have to make a decision in five minutes, you’re not likely to do it so we always prefer the overnight passenger.” Throughout Freeport, there were long lines and shopping carts filled with bottles of bleach, water, non-perishables and bundles of toilet paper, as “coronavirus” could be heard in conversations throughout grocery stores. But the panic shopping for some has deeper roots, as Grand Bahamians still scarred by the death and destruction of Dorian have not yet evolved from a heightened sense of alert, particularly since hurricane season is less than three months away. A stock shop worker at one of the island’s popular stores told us some locals seem to be a bit paranoid, sharing that one customer came into the store three times in a single day, worried that she had not purchased enough items to stockpile ahead of whatever COVID-19 would bring. What stakeholders on Grand Bahama are hoping for is that the island can remain COVID-19 free, and that cruise lines do not extend their suspensions beyond their announced 30-day time frame. Until then, all they can do is prepare, pray and wait. The post Waiting game appeared first on The Nassau Guardian. source https://thenassauguardian.com/2020/03/16/waiting-game/

My Pre-Sojourn Research of Cuba
The way I group learning and understanding history has always been very American-centric. That’s not based in my own narcissism, it just happens that the world in general can be very American-centric. Because the United States is the world’s military powerhouse most of the media in the world is focused on us. In this fog of American-centrism it’s sometimes hard too hard to gain an understanding of other cultures. Every nation has its own culture but most of them now have the influences of current American culture, politics, and finance. Sometimes looking at other countries is like looking a mirror. An exception to this rule is Cuba; Cuba is one of the only countries in the western hemisphere to have had strict isolation from America.
Cuba is an island-nation in the Caribbean, less than 100 miles south of Florida’s southern tip. Cuba occupies the largest island in the Caribbean, and with 11 million inhabitants it is the second most populated island in the Caribbean too.
The island was populated by Taino Natives before they were subjugated by the Spanish conquistadores who showed up in 1492. The conquistadores later brought with them millions of enslaved Africans to burgeon a sugar-cane industry. Cultural and genetic miscegenation occurred from these three main groups of people on the Island. This pattern occurred in many nations throughout the hemisphere but Cuba is the best place to study the mix of these cultures because of Cuba became isolated from the west. From 1878 to 1899 revolts against Spanish rule occurred; resulting in the abolition of slavery and the establishment of an independent Cuba. Later, during World War II Cuba’s Castro Regime chose the side of the Soviet Union in the face of the USA. This resulted in the US prohibiting all Cuba-U.S. trade. The embargo, or ‘bloqueado’ as it is known in Spanish stymied political, economic, and cultural exchange between the US and even Latin America to marked degree. The current cultural and social landscape of Cuba reflects this isolated history.
A result of Spanish influence, the main religion of Cuba is Roman Catholicism; however, syncretism has occurred with African religions. Syncretism is the combination of religions; Influences of African Yoruba traditions are heavy in Cuba’s catholic traditions. Santeria is an example of Cuba’s syncretic religions in which adherents consult babalawos for solutions to various problems (love, sex, luck, evil). Babalawos are common in Cuba: ritual experts who interpret the mysteries of an African Yoruba pantheon. Aside, African religions and rites themselves are practiced.  I’m particularly interested in Santeria; I plan to visit a babalawo to ask for herbal remedies to my illness. I’m skeptical of many new herbal remedies I’ve read online but out of desperation I’ll have some faith in an expert who can mix an ancient-stlye elixir right in front of me.
Many people come to Cuba to see the antique aura of the colorful buildings and cars. The embargo prevented Cuba form purchasing cars from nearby U.S. but importing cars was also discouraged by the fact that cars had to be imported with government approval and many countries wouldn’t sell cars to Cuba because they would face red-tape penalties with the U.S. Because the now defunct Soviet Union was their primary ally for a long time there are many soviet cars there too. Economic restrictions have made the maintenance of Antique cars owned before Cuba’s Socialist revolution basically the only option for the few Cubans who can afford cars.
The colorful buildings are host to a people who are equally colorful—Cuban fashion is a bit more colorful than that of the US. This is especially so for women who often wear colorful dresses. My dream is to dance amongst the colorful people. Many dances such as Mambo, Cha-Cha, and Danzon originate in Cuba; Salsa music originated in the U.S. from Cuban influences.
The cuisine of Cuba seems to me very similar to that which I experienced in Costa Rica; Staples such as rice and beans, plantains, and fresh fruits are abundant. Cuba has become famous for its namesake sandwich; the Cuban. In a Cuban bread is baked using extra lard or fat, then roasted pork, sliced ham, pickles and mustard layer each other in the compressed sandwich. I’m conflicted because according to the CDC I should only eat packed foods or hot-served foods in restaurants. That is disappointing because many say the most flavorful Cuban food experiences come from street-food vendors. I particularly wanted to try having a home-cooked meal with a Cuban family. It would surely contain ‘moros y cristianos’(rice and beans) and roasted pulled pork.
Cuba’s cold political conditions and meticulous government have preserved much of Cuba’s 1950’s antiquity, and pristine environment—I fear that as tension warm up between Cuba and the world trade will diminish both qualities. Brazil is currently working to build-up Cuba’s oil infrastructure; American developers are eager to build resorts on Cuba’s largely untouched coastlines. I instinctually want to denounce those actions, but at the same time I must consider if those advents will mean better life for the Cuban people. Currently, the average working Cuban makes between $30-$100 per month, this isn’t a lot in general but must be considered in the context that many living expenses such as health-care are government subsidized. Cuban citizens may attend any level of school in the nation without any out-of-pocket tuition costs—just book expenses and community service. Because of the accessibility of education, many Cubans become doctors. Doctors in Cuba don’t make much more money than their counterparts so they often expatriate to countries where their skills are more lucrative. Conversely, the cheap education in Cuba attracts students world-wide.
Cuba is certainly becoming more accessible to us Yankees; after decades of being prohibited regular flights connect the U.S. and Cuba—but only since 2016. The possible transience of these newfound relations does give me pause. A lot of people don’t know that Cuban President Raul Castro has declared that he will step down in 2018 after his 5-year term. Some, with reason, doubt that he will step down; I worry what direction the country would go post-Castro. Tim Rogers, an American who travels to Cuba, expressed in one of his articles that, although the chance is slim, Americans may become targets of aggression by political dissidents. I was advised to avoid contentious situations, abstain from political discussion. I was surprised to learn that things in Cuba are actually not very cheap; transportation in particular seems expensive: a car rental may run ~70 CUC/ day. I must also consider that while 1 USD generally converts to 1 CUC a 10% fee exists to exchange between them.
All in all, my sojourn to Cuba will be some of the most culturally enriching of my life; Cuba’s isolation from the US has made it an irreplaceable destination; the architecture, antique automobiles, pristinely conserved habitat, and Afro-Spanish-Native cultural mix is unique to Cuba. I hope you’ll check this blog regularly to read my report when I return!
