The folks at Deep Vellum are seriously difficult to deal with. They were supposed to receive their books six or seven weeks ago; no update. Supposed to start shipping them out three or four weeks ago; no update. I ask for an update, they say, '20 years of pre-orders, shipping out in order received.' I say, no problem; can I get an estimate? They say, '20 years of pre-orders, shipping out in order received.' I know they're not huge, and I know this project has taken a LONG time to complete. But you'd think they'd be joyful about approaching the finish line, not disappearing and acting like they're doing something wrong. Anything you can do to maybe nudge them into slightly better communication with their customer base?

The most recent update online on the Little, Big site was Feb 4th, three days ago, saying,

February 4, 2023 Please note: Ice storms in Texas shut down the distribution of books last Monday. Deep Vellum hopes to resume packing and mailing pre-orders this coming week, weather permitting.

The last update before that was on January 21st:

Last month there was an unexpected delay with trucking the hardcover edition from the printer to Deep Vellum. Storms, floods and repeated power outages the past couple weeks slowed our California team's work on integrating all the recent address confirmations into our customer database. These latest setbacks are now overcome and Deep Vellum has begun mailing the trade edition. Over the next several weeks their team will package and ship the oldest orders each day, progressing chronologically, until they've distributed all confirmed pre-orders. Tracking will be emailed to each customer at the time of shipment. There's a delay with the fabrication of the slipcases for the numbered & lettered editions--so we still don't have a clear sense of when these editions will be ready to ship. We will post an update as soon as we know more.

Despite over a thousand address confirmation form submissions in the last 6 weeks, there remain nearly 500 unconfirmed addresses in our order database. If you ordered books between 2004 and December 31, 2021, we need confirmation of your current address to ship:

So you know what I know. Deep Vellum are shipping out the books in chronological order, and they believe it will take several weeks to get all the books out. (The packaging is serious, to make sure that the books don't arrive dinged or bashed up, as the books are huge and heavy.) You seem upset that they haven't posted updates, but I'm definitely seeing those two updates on the Little, Big website. Deep Vellum are just a distributor -- the Little, Big Website should be a better source of information. (I've seen on Twitter and Mastodon that some people have received their books.)

I think nobody's celebrating until they are over the finish line.

What do you think about S complaining that media posted his home adresse he just bought ? Lol did he forget he posted pictures of every corner knowing the house is known and shown on internet ? Why did his friends posted pictures inside too if it's soooo dear to his heart??? He can't be that gullible right ?

Well, let's see... I think the Scottish Sun was the 'prominent Scottish newspaper' he talks about. Now, he shouldn't complain too much about the Scottish Sun, as they post about every fart of him, but it seems he managed to get the article taken down, as it's not available anymore. All a little too late, it must have been published around November last year, but you know how it works with these kind of articles, in the next days it was posted on several other tabloids. Parade posted an article on November 8 2021 with the information and a link to the (removed) article in the Scottish Sun. The article on Parade even shows a link to an article on Glasgow.live posted in January 2021 where the property was advertised being up for sale, including a video and several pics of the inside and the outside of the house.

After Parade the content of the article was posted on several tabloids, like hellomagazine, though most of the pics they used and even some information were from his former address, the flat he lived in before. Interestingly enough they posted the very first pic that he posted himself on IG from his new house, being the garage gym

They were all a bit late to the party though, as the address and all the available pictures of the stunning 250 years old farmhouse, were of course already found and posted on Tumblr months before. Though not immediately....

That picture of the garage was not enough to identify a new house as you can see. But curious minds here were triggered of course. He didn't had a garage at his former house, so where could that be?

While shippers were eager to match the gym garage with the garage Cait parked her car in like a glove that fitted. Curious non-shippers were more interested in the next breadcrumb he gave away in his story of May 21st.

A wall... and a revealing reflection in the glass... 🤔

Well, the wait for the next huge hint didn't take long, as the MPC live gala on May 23 was done right from his (new) kitchen... one that didn't take much skills to identify.

The reflection of the skylight in the kitchen cupboard window was only there to confirm what was found. Btw. from a recent post on Radarbooks it shows the blanc wooden colour is now changed in a dark teal colour.

The 'we', as I already posted a number of times before, were 3 bloggers including myself. Not to brag about finding it, but simply to point out that we took responsibility and didn't want to expose his address like that, we decided to keep it amongst the three of us, and so we did for nearly a month.

Now the only one that did not collaborate with us, was Mr. Private himself. He kept on posting from his house that is so special to him, his archery pics showing off about his entire garden (May 30)

The wrap party, with the deck and the BBQ (June 4), not by him but by his guests, who later on would post a number of pictures and videos from that party inside and outside the house!

Alex had to show his non-existent archery skills on June 19 (posted by S himself as well as Alex in their stories) Also showing the fire pit he purchased from a store who's IG account he followed shortly before.

Needless to say, by every post from the property we were gnashing our teeth, groaning and sighing, rolling our eyes... if he goes on posting like that from his beloved tavern, it would only be a matter of time before others would find out. And we didn't had much confidence in how 'responsible' they'd be. We almost yelled at each other in the chats, why does he post all the time from his home, showing about every corner.

At the time he posted his workout pic on his drive way on June 26th

people already found out and pictures found on the real estate website were posted on a number of blogs (most shippers). We only shook our heads, it's his own fault was our conclusion and a bit annoyed I posted a pic of the gate, a manip though it was his gate, I just photoshopped a 'have a dram with Sam' sign in it. In jest, cause the way he exposed the house himself, well... it just needed a sign 'I live here'.

And he never stopped posting from it, never closed the door from his public life but opened it widely. We've seen a lot of biker pics on his drive way, his garden for summer solstice, a yoga tree pic in his garden. Different corners and book shelves as background for interviews. And of course the Nics showed us around, archery skills outside and the cozy corner inside with a terrible rug. Not that long ago we saw Nic R showing us proudly around the backyard and the garage with all the bikes in it. And last but not least his driver posting from the driveway!

Now, you can all make up your mind and decide for yourself, you can call me a 'sleuth' or a 'master spy' (as I recently found out). But also take into account that he should have known better. After his previous move, posting the infamous pancake picture from the stove that was way too familiar to the fandom, the house he bought after his co-star moved out.

Btw. it seems that house is quite special for the OL cast as, if I'm not mistaken, just recently another member of the Fraser family moved in there. As far as I know he never sold the place, so probably rents it out. Maybe he can turn it into the OL airbnb after the show ends, quite the unique experience staying in a house that has been inhabited by 3 members of the family! I can see some $$$ 😉

2022.10.11 Shinhwa Eric Becomes Free Agent After Parting Away With TOP Media… He Will Be Taking a Break to Help His Wife With Prenatal Care

Eric (real name Moon Jung-hyuk), actor and member of Shinhwa, has joined the free-agent market.

According to a report by Sports Seoul on October 11th, the exclusive contract between Eric and his agency TOP Media has expired. (Note: Eric signed with TOP Media on January 1st, 2019 and he also replied to a comment that his contract finished end of 2021)

In this regard, TOP Media said to Sports Seoul, “Our contract period has ended but the company will continue to support his entertainment activities through mutual agreements”.

Eric signed with TOP Media, the agency founded by Shinhwa member Andy, in 2019. Since then, he began to carry out active activities, such as holding a solo fanmeeting, starring in dramas “Eccentric! Chef Moon”, “The Spies Who Loved Me”, etc., and joining entertainment programs “4 Wheeled Restaurant – America”, “The Barber of Seville”, etc.

As a member of Shinhwa, he also performed in the group’s 21st-anniversary concert “CHAPTER 4”.

In August, his wife – actress Na Hye-mi announced her pregnancy. Announcing the news of pregnancy 5 years after their marriage, the couple received many congratulations. Eric is known to be taking a break to help his wife with prenatal care.

Meanwhile, Eric made his debut with Shinhwa in 1998. The group gained huge love after releasing numerous hit songs, such as “Hey You Come on”, “Wedding”, “Perfect Man”, “Brand New”, etc. He then turned to acting and appeared in the drama industry for the first time through “Phoenix” in 2004. Since then, he has taken the male lead role in various popular series, such as “Que Sera, Sera”, “Discovery of Love”, and “Another Miss Oh”.

Note: Eric’s contract ended in December 2021.  With the upcoming birth of the couple’s first child and that he’d like to help Hyemi with prenatal care (sweet hubby), it makes sense he stays free agent for now.  One can always have another project this year or next year, but time spending with your wife during pregnancy and to be there for your child’s first few months is precious time that you can’t get back.  💕   Wishing him all the best with a new and better management later.  See you soon!  🤟

Phase Six: Wish You Wear Ear (2019–2021)

During a brief hiatus for the band, on the 3rd of September 2019 while visiting Iran to see Lake Urmia, Noodle made note of how climate change had taken a toll on the lake. She came to a realization regarding the fleeting state of nature on Earth, and sent a post-card to Murdoc, 2D, and Russel at Studio 13 with a message detailing her desire to build a machine and see the world before it’s gone. The post-card arrived at Studio 13 on the 12th of September.

On the 7th of September, 2D sent a post-card to the band while visiting Beirut, informing Noodle that he got the parts for the machine she had mentioned, asking what they were for. The post-card arrived at Studio 13 on the 24th of September.

On the 14th of September, Murdoc sent a post-card from his annual drunken holiday in Ibiza. The post-card arrived at Studio 13 on the 26th of September.

On the 21st of September, Russel sent a post-card from Mexico while working on his hot sauce business, "Hobbs Hot Sauce". He included a message telling the band that he’d “be seeing [them] and the machine REAL soon”. The post-card arrived at Studio 13 on the 4th of October.

The machine (revealed as the "Song Machine") was activated on the 28th of January. The following day, the band announced their next project, Song Machine, a multimedia series of songs/music videos released episodically through 2020, as a continuously-updating playlist via streaming services.

In a statement to the press, Russell said "Song Machine is a whole new way of doing what we do. Gorillaz breaking the mould ‘cos the mould got old. World is moving faster than a supercharged particle, so we’ve gotta stay ready to drop. We don’t even know who’s stepping through the studio next. Song Machine feeds on the unknown, runs on pure chaos. So whatever the hell’s coming, we’re primed and ready to produce like there’s no tomorrow. Y’know, just in case.”

Throughout the course of the series, the band collaborates with musicians they’ve met on their various trips around the world, inviting them to record at their now renamed West London studio, officially dubbed the new Kong Studios. In the music video for “Désolé”, 2D, Noodle, and Russel travel to Lake Como via a mysterious teleporting door in Kong Studios and record with Fatoumata Diawara. Murdoc is left behind and unable to reopen the portal, leaving him lonely and depressed at Kong. When questioned about this, Murdoc claimed he wasn’t upset about being left behind and didn’t care about their trip to Italy. Shortly before enviously asking 2D and Russel about portals just “in case [he] ever [needs] to find one for future reference”.

In the face of a global pandemic, the band practiced social distancing, sequestering themselves in various parts of Kong Studios. Murdoc locked himself in Kong’s basement, explaining how he was working on “something big” that would “change the effing world”. After a look through his online purchase history, this “something big” appears to have involved nearly £500 worth of pine wood and a blow up doll. Meanwhile, Russel caught up on television while experimenting with an assorted variety of food/entertainment combinations.

As the months passed, Murdoc continued providing social media updates regarding his secret project, before finally unveiling it in the music video for Pac-Man. This special project, his very own orgone accumulator (based on the pseudoscientific concept of Wilhelm Reich), was built solely by Murdoc in the basement of Kong Studios. Throughout the video Murdoc can be seen contentedly sitting and relaxing in his creation, which in an act of jealousy and defiance, he claims can also act as his own private teleportation portal despite not showing any interest or apparent ability of opening a portal of any kind.

In the Strange Timez music video, the band took a trip through space to destroy a billboard on the moon. In the music video for The Valley of the Pagans, the band traveled through a portal to Los Angeles for a drive around the city before abruptly falling through another portal leading them to Plastic Beach.

In the music video for The Lost Chord, the band found themselves back at Plastic Beach ten years after the Black Clouds’ attack on the island. Past trauma resurfaced as they explored the remains of the island. Murdoc is seen overcome with guilt at the sight of a damaged and deactivated Cyborg Noodle. Soon after, a sea monster awoke from the depths of the ocean and began destroying the island. The deactivated Cyborg Noodle is seen opening her eye as she lifelessly sinks to the bottom of the ocean. A portal back to Kong suddenly opened up as the ruins of the island sunk into the ocean. 2D, Noodle, and Russel escaped as the portal closed, leaving Murdoc stranded in the ocean. In the spirit of friendship and forgiveness, 2D quickly reopened the portal and reached out, saving Murdoc’s life.

In May of 2021, a demonic sinkhole opened beneath Kong Studios, leaving it inoperable and under renovation. During this time, the band went on a road trip in Murdoc's Winnebago, taking their instruments and recording equipment along with them. The band released a surprise EP titled Meanwhile in August of 2021. The EP was released as an "homage to Notting Hill Carnival", an annual event that usually takes place in London every August, but couldn't occur in 2020 or 2021 due to the global pandemic. The EP features frequent Notting Hill Carnival performers Jelani Blackman, Barrington Levy, AJ Tracey, and Alicai Harley.

In December 2021, the band was contacted by a rogue agent of the Department of Musical Corrections, "a covert organisation operating in the murky shadows of the music industry" with the goal to "stifle originality" in the world of pop-music. The DMC agent, known only as GFlat, revealed on social media that Gorillaz had been on the top of the organizations "most subversive" watchlist for decades. GFlat claimed that "a storm [was] coming", and began leaking classified DMC documents to the public through the Gorillaz discord. This culminated in the release of Demoz, a collection of early Gorillaz demos that had previously been locked away in the DMC vaults.

So, this challenge is for an OC you created in 2021. And I created a lot of OCs. Just one of them is Ava Whitlock who, I'm not gonna lie, is a bit of a current muse. Hence choosing her for this challenge.

Ava's from 1944 Hollywood. She's currently working as an assistant to currently unknown actress, Lauren Bacall, but she aspires to be a writer and costumer. This moodboard shows just a little of Ava's world. Needless to say, it expands quite a bit when she runs into an enigmatic man and his companion who seem to be the only ones who have any knowledge about the strange metal men lurking on the Warner Bros. backlot. . .

OC Halloween Challenge 2022 Day 1: Slasher AU

Alex Locke in Happy Death Day

August 31st, 2010, was supposed to be the best day of Alex's life. Not the last day.

The morning of her 21st birthday is off to an already bad start when Alex wakes up in bed with none other than her physics tutor, grad student John Smith. It only grows worse as, after a night out partying with friends, Alex heads back to her dorm room, only to be attacked and stabbed by a figure wearing an alien mask.

And then, somehow, things go from worse to weird as Alex wakes up in John's bed, the morning of August 31st, 2010. That night, she gets murdered, again.

It happens again.

And again.

And again.

What do you do when trapped in a time loop that continuously ends with your own murder? Alex chooses to team up with John in order to unmask the killer, end the loop, and save her life. But can they conquer the loop and unmask the killer without losing their lives?

My Story of Envy

In ninth grade, the worst possible life you could be living was to be steadily approaching your 15th birthday (mine was in January and hers was in March) and still never have been kissed. We would have preferred to be taken as prisoners of war and waterboarded. I'm 18 now. (No, that's the end of the paragraph.)

At the time, I thought of Rachel as this incredible, addictive echo chamber, the one and only person I had ever met who really understood me. Looking back, we had almost nothing in common. She was very, very religious, very smart, and had a completely opposite worldview and lifestyle to mine. We were friends because the way that we defined ourselves was so similar, because we hated all the same things about ourselves. Isn't it so great and disgusting that women can build an entire friendship on wishing our boobs were bigger?

This was during the 2020-2021 school year, when we were all desperate to escape our isolation. In any other time, I don't think we would've become friends.

I've always been obsessed with that idea of a ride-or-die, who you've seen through thick and thin, whose hair you hold back while she vomits Mike's Hard Lemonade at a frat party and whose dress you hold up while she pees at her wedding. And while Rachel and I were connecting very quickly, talking every day, learning everything about each other, confessing secrets like they were passing comments on the weather, we had only known each other for a year. I still can't understand why I thought I could will that kind of friendship into existence overnight.

I had felt her pulling away from me for a while, but I threw love at her like Coraline threw the Cat at her Other Mother's face. I thought if I ignored the feeling for long enough, it would give up and go home. I knew something had changed between us when I found out the boy we both had a desperate crush asked her out 3 weeks earlier.

He wasn't the love of my life, or anything. Mostly, I liked him to share something with her. Her type was cowboys (yes, really), so I guessed mine was, too. This boy looked at 21st-century Seattle and saw Gilded Age Louisiana. I mean, he unironically wore a huge cowboy hat and boots and a bolo tie to school everyday and called Rachel "ma'am." Something about a man in uniform, maybe?

I wasn't upset about losing him. I never had him, anyway. I was upset about losing her, because, for once in my life, I felt like I really belonged with someone, and I was under the impression she felt the same way. No rejection from any boy could ever hurt as much as a rejection from a friend.

Of course, there are so many going-on-15 girls who've never kissed anyone, but we didn't talk about it. I knew those girls existed, but I didn't know who they were. They weren't the loudest, most popular girls at my school, they weren't in my friend group, they weren't on Disney Channel or in Sara Shepard books. Rachel was the only girl I'd ever met who I thought was like me. We got along so well because we were both ugly.

Rachel wasn't ugly, though. She was definitely shy, and she had a growth spurt that the boys hadn't caught up to yet, but eventually they did, and that was it.

I'm not denying the importance of how self-esteem effects overall happiness and quality of life, especially in a teenage girl. What Rachel felt about herself was real and awful and painful, and I'm sorry that anyone has ever been made to feel that way. But in the end, she escaped. Not completely, of course. She is still going to have to live in a world that actively encourages self-loathing every second of every day for the rest of her life, but she can take comfort in the fact that what she feels about herself isn't actually true. She can know that it's no more than some see-through, half-hearted lie. She's someone who thinks she's ugly, and that's not easy, but she's not someone who has to go through life being ugly. She can think about other things besides her looks, because she's pretty. She can be absolutely certain that she will be loved. God, I want that more than anything. More than a sloppy kiss with someone who wears braces, even. I don't need to stop hating myself, but I want someone to disagree with me.

Rachel got to take off her metaphorical glasses, walk down the stairs in her new dress, and The Boy thought she was so beautiful, all he could say was, "wow." Meanwhile, I still have to be that 14-year-old girl four years later. And I still will be four years from now, and four years from then, and forever.

This was never meant to be who I was. I was never meant to leave middle school unkissed, I was supposed to be dating a ninth-grader in eight grade, and asked to senior prom as a freshman. I was supposed to throw sleepovers for all my friends and stay up all night gabbing (I hate that word) about our boyfriends.

And I just know that in 10 years, it's going to be 3:00 A.M. and I'll have work tomorrow but I'll have stayed up that late fighting against Prozac and trying to make myself come and eventually I'll give up, close AO3, and open up Facebook. I'll look her up and see that she went to Northwestern (ooh) and just got engaged to some guy who has his own business (makes jerking-off gesture) selling organic soy candles. Good for her, seriously. (Is jerking-off hyphenated?)

It wasn't that I didn't think she deserved to have that, or that I wanted to take it from her. I wanted her to have it, but I wanted it to be possible for me to have it, too. I wished I lived in a world where there was enough of it to go around. But if we did, she wouldn't even want it anymore. She wouldn't have felt so strongly about it, it wouldn't have even mattered to her. I guess it wouldn't have mattered to me, either. She is a wonderful person who deserves everything and more. I wish wasn't someone she feels lucky not to be.

I wish the best for Rachel. And I wish better than the worst for myself.

Respecting the PBT Regulations of Section 6(h) of the TSCA: What You Need to Know According to TSCA Section 6(h), the 2016 Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act mandates the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to expedite action on specific persistent, bioaccumulative, and toxic (PBT) chemicals in order to address risks and minimize exposures as much as possible. In 2019, the EPA issued a proposed rule and identified five PBT chemicals for expedited action in 2016. The EPA finally issued final rules for these chemicals on January 6, 2021. The EPA is authorized by the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) to regulate persistent, bioaccumulative, and toxic chemicals for environmental and human health protection. These chemicals have the potential to accumulate over time in the environment and pose potential dangers to exposed populations, such as the general population, consumers, and commercial users, as well as susceptible subpopulations (such as workers, subsistence fishers, tribes, and children). Welcome to the news channel of the Angry Nature, Today we will tell you about Hunga tonga volcano, Hunga Tonga–Hunga Ha'apai  is a submarine volcano in the South Pacific located about 30 km (19 mi) south of the submarine volcano of Fonuafoʻou and 65 km (40 mi) north of Tongatapu, Tonga's main island. It is part of the highly active Kermadec-Tonga subduction zone and its associated volcanic arc, which extends from New Zealand north-northeast to Fiji, and is formed by the subduction of the Pacific Plate under the Indo-Australian Plate. It lies about 100 km (62 mi) above a very active seismic zone. The volcano rises around 2,000 m from the seafloor and has a caldera which – on the eve of the 2022 eruption – was roughly 150 m below sea level and 4 km at its widest extent. The only major above-water part of the volcano are the twin uninhabited islands of Hunga Tonga and Hunga Ha'apai, which are respectively part of the northern and western rim of the caldera. As a result of the volcano's eruptive history, the islands existed as single landmass from 2015 to 2022: they were merged by a volcanic cone in a VEI 2 volcanic eruption in 2014–2015, and were separated again by a more explosive eruption in 2022, which also reduced the islands in size. Its most recent eruption in January 2022 generated a tsunami that reached as far as the coasts of Japan and of the Americas and a volcanic plume that reached 58 km (36 mi) into the mesosphere.  The eruption was the largest volcanic eruption in the 21st century and the largest eruption since the 1883 eruption of Krakatoa.  The eruption is rated a VEI-5 on the Volcanic Explosivity Index.
