"I can tell right off the bat that this 'professor' is more than what he seems. Like Azusa mentioned, just from the way he carries himself, as well as the dark look in his eyes, this guy has undoubtedly seen some action on more than one occasion in his life. I'm almost tempted to ask him to spar with me, but I doubt he'd accept."

Azusa Furukawa
"Ah, Furukawa-san." Takumi nods at Azusa's photo of her and her father. "I was always a major fan of kendo, ever since I was young. When my father hired someone to train me, that was quite literally the happiest day of my life. These days, however, no one seems to wield swords anymore, much less use them.
"Fortunately, Furukawa-san and her family still hold true to their way of the sword. It's a shame Chuohku forced them to remove the sign from their dojo. I greatly would have liked to have joined. And it doesn't help that her father fell ill either..."

"Azusa-san has introduced me to Fleuret-san. She is a smart, pretty young lady! Plus, she is dating Rio-san, which is a point in my book! Perhaps, the three of us can work on a training regimen together! I know she is descended from knights, so surely she must be proficient at working out!"

"what's up with you?" iwasaki jun, the tall middle blocker first year, leaned his forearms on [name]'s head, following his line of sight. he let out a small chuckle, eyes lazily watching the miyagi team's ace stare at them. "that your old team?"
"yeah.." [name] was caught up staring at them, after all he hadn't seen them in over a year now, before finally realising jun's position. he scowled, breaking away from looking at ushijima to kick a leg behind him, landing a painful hit to the tall black haired boy's shin. he hissed, backing away from [name]'s form to clutch his leg.
"bad heiwa-kun" he frowned, talking as if [name] was a cat that had just scratched him. this only made the h/c haired boy cross his arms, stalking over to enomoto yuichi, their third first year counterpart.
they knew [name] wasn't fond of his court name. the word 'heiwa' was a similar character to his last name, 'hirabayashi' being read wrong. it wasn't offensive, meaning peace or calm and he would have found it cool, had his team not used it as a nickname to tease him, that is.
"do you two ever stop fighting?" yuichi raised an eyebrow, not looking away from where he was scouring through a menu on his phone.
"do you ever stop thinking about food?" this pulled his attention away from device, but only for a moment to send [name] a displeased look, immediately returning to the list, scrolling through for something to satisfy his cravings. [name] scoffed, instead moving to stand with their captain-duo.
"taicho" he popped up between their captain, adachi takumi and vice-captain, koizumi kousei. the light brown haired captain levelled him with a glare, intimidating for his usually sweet disposition. [name] wasn't fazed however, he was often on the receiving end of that glare after all, with the captain's hatred of the 'taicho' nickname much like his own. he deserved it.
"what?" he tilted his head innocently, face blank, pretending he didn't know what was wrong.
takumi sighed, crossing his arms. the first year was their only libero and the only first year regular on the team. he was a talented player, living up to his peaceful nickname when on court but when off.. he was as chaotic as the rest of the team. he was a little blank, cold sometimes but the team had grown used to his personality, taking note of his observing eyes, watching how they followed players every move. he was an admirer.
"behave, heiwa-kun, we're representing takumashii" kousei was the one to scold him, he was blank faced as usual, sending a chill down takumi's spine. the pair were quite a sight, vacant stares and matching energies. they would be a powerful captain duo when he moved on. the third year cracked a smile at them, while they showed the least emotion on the team they somehow emoted the most when you knew them.
[name] had a playful glint in his eyes, kousei knew he was desperate to cause some trouble.
"alright, heiwa-kun" takumi pulled him in with an arm around his shoulders, now turning to the address the rest of the team, "let's get moving!"
"osu!" they all called, picking up their bags, ready to conquer their first nationals.

tendou's hand landed on ushijima's shoulders, attempting to startle the ace who stared off at something else. the olive haired second year merely turned to him with a blank stare, confused. tendou stared back for a moment before following his past look to catch sight of a familiar head of h/c hair.
"ohoho, if it isn't little [name]-kun!" his words caught the attention of the other second years. semi and ohira immediately perked up, moving over to the pair to see [name].
"what school is that..?" semi squinted at the jackets, unfamiliar with the light blue and white of their tracksuits. it wasn't until [name] turned around to scowl at the taller boy messing with him that they saw the name of their team, 'takumashii' written in bold lettering on the back.
"woah, never heard of 'em" tendou raised an eyebrow, amused. "takumashii haven't been to nationals recently have they?"
"i don't think so.." ohira agreed, trying to remember the teams they played last year. "they must have gained some talented members this year"
"they have [name]" ushijima stated, confident that [name]'s presence was the entire reason for takumashii's appearance. tendou snorted, turning away to cover his face. at least this year would be more interesting..

the opening ceremony went quickly but [name] barely paid any mind to the announcers. he merely kept his eye on the teams surrounding them, taking note of those familiar and those who weren't. most of the teams were ones he at least recognised, having stayed up late watching past national games to prepare himself for their opponents.
it wasn't long before the team was handed a sheet holding the brackets for matches. they crowded around takumi who read their bracket out for them, making note of the most popular teams.
"we're in the left bracket, our first match is going to be against samae tech" despite their delight to have made it this far the osaka team had no desire to be sent home during their first match, relieved at the revelation of their first line-up. samae tech was a school there were long familiar with, being from a neighbouring prefecture, tokushima. they had had several practice matches with the orange and white team.
"we're on court c first up" takumi handed the papers off to their coach before they could obsess over the match ups. he knew his team would get distracted, thinking too far ahead with the what ifs, namely looking at [name] who huffed indignantly when he could no longer view the line-ups.
"let's start warming up then, these courts are going to be different from our usual so we need you to get used to playing on them" omoikane matsumoto was a middle aged man, a past alumni for takumashii high school, having played as the team's setter when he was still in high school. he, himself, had taken his team to nationals almost 20 years ago.
the last time they had made any appearance at the tokyo metropolitan gym was 6 years ago when they were in their peak. so it was surely a surprise to see their team's return to the national stage.
as they begun warm up drills [name] stretched his legs, bending low and leaning to the side before switching legs. he stood ready, waiting for the team's serving drills. he ignored the several pairs of eyes he could feel on him. he knew a team such as themselves defeating their competition out of the blue after years of dormancy was often a sudden shock but did people really notice them that much?
he shook off the feeling, shuffling forwards and dropping low to receive kousei's serve. he frowned at the weak serve, used to receiving ones of a much higher calibre.
"where's the power, vice-taicho?" he was obviously teasing, trying to provoke the team's setter. the boy merely ruffled his messy black hair, stretching his fingers as he moved to the other ball cart, ready to start the spiking drills for the others. [name] scoffed, a minuscule smirk when he noticed the twitch of the second year's eye.
"stop messing with kousei, pay attention to the ball" takumi scolded immediately, not giving [name] any time to prepare at all, already hitting a jump serve straight for him. he blanched, leaning back and performing a sloppy overhead receive. even when he was caught off guard the ball still went where it needed to be, landing right where the setter would generally be positioned.
"hmph" [name] pouted slightly, sinking into a crouch again, completely focused on the team's serves now.

from the court beside them an owl like boy stared at the libero with glowing eyes. his gold iris' bored into the poor first year, watching his every move, the way he pulled off receive after receive with professional calmness, never once making a misstep.
"hey bokuto!" his head finally snapped back towards his own team's libero, waving him over to warm up with the others. despite being pulled away from the osaka representative's practice, he couldn't help the burning desire to play them!

the team's game against samae tech went pretty much without a hitch. the volleyball club were in excellent shape for their first nationals but that would be expected of a team with someone nicknamed heiwa-kun.
they played much like any other practice match, easily taking two straight sets from the orange and white team, securing their place in the second round.
[name] felt the familiar feeling in his stomach, the fear of losing hidden beneath his confident facade as he shook hands with the devastated team. he couldn't help but imagine his own face looking similar to the despair written across theirs. he clenched his hands into fists, stepping away to his bag to avoid his spiralling thoughts.
"hey, heiwa-kun" jun caught up with him all too quick, pulling him close, practically covering his smaller frame with his own. "you want to check out the competition?"
"taicho and the others are going to check out the stalls but omoi-sensei said it's fine if we stick around the matches a bit longer" yuichi chipped in, pocketing his phone as he stepped up to them.
"sure" [name] shrugged, "i'm gonna head to the bathroom first, find an interesting match for me?"
"you got it" jun snorted as he shot him finger guns, lazy eyes following the short boy's frame as he dipped out in the direction of the bathrooms.
[name] sighed once he was finally alone, pulling out his own phone, checking for messages. the only ones he had were well-wishes from his parents and a couple excited ones from hinata updating him on miyagi. he softened slightly, glad hinata was still energetic despite his lack of club.
he stepped into the bathroom, using his shoulder to push the door open. he froze as he almost walked into another male. he side-stepped the taller boy as he apologised, head bowed.
"oi" he paused, glancing up to blink at the black jersey. inarizaki.
"yes?" he looked up to see the blonde's scowl, quickly recognising him as miya atsumu.
"ya team, are they weak?" [name] felt his eye twitch, annoyed. who did he think he was, speaking down on them like that? they didn't even know each other.
"no" the h/c haired boy firmly stated, crossing his arms, standing his ground despite the height difference.
the blonde scoffed, "i don't like playing weak people. we'll crush ya tomorrow"
"well, i'm sorry to disappoint" [name] begun, cocking his head to the side, challenging the setter. "but you won't be crushing anyone tomorrow because we're certainly not weak"
"we'll see" despite the finality of his statement neither boy moved, staring at each other with cold eyes. [name] decided immediately that he didn't like this boy.
they were interrupted by a new voice, the door opening behind him to an identical looking male, if it weren't for the very obvious differing hair colours, that is. the grey haired boy raised an eyebrow at them, a black haired boy lazily eyeing them from behind.
"what the hell are ya doing, 'tsumu?" the grey haired twin snarled, looking between them.
"scouting the competition, 'samu" he huffed, crossing his arms and childishly glaring at the shorter boy. "though i can't say there is any"
"why you-!" before [name] could lose his cool (and destroy what little belief atsumu had in his team) a hand reached out, pulling his jacket.
"heiwa-kun"
he paused, eyes locking with jun's. yuichi raised an unamused eyebrow at him too, his hand being the one to grab [name]'s jacket.
"heiwa?" atsumu's eyes widened a bit at the now blank faced boy, shocked to know the boy he was just trash talking was actually the one he was most excited to see play.
"yeah, what about it?" [name], despite being held like a feral cat, managed a glare at him. "you got something against me, huh?"
atsumu didn't say anything, watching as miya osamu and suna rintarou apologised for his behaviour. yuichi and jun waved it off, bowing back and apologising for [name]'s behaviour as well. neither culprit argued, silently sharing tense eye contact.
"we're leaving, heiwa-kun" yuichi snapped them out of it, ignoring [name]'s complaints about never having actually managed to go to the bathroom.
"what's wrong with ya?" osamu sent atsumu a judgmental glance as they watched the takumashii first year trio wander off. the inarizaki group finally begun to make their own way back to their team.
suna eyed him with a small grin, highly amused. "yeah, you just ruined any chance you had at talking to him"
"shut up!" atsumu snarled, scaring a couple of players surrounding them in the hall. "he's a dick anyways!"
"i'm pretty sure if anyone was a dick it'd be you" osamu hummed, earning a harsh slap to the back of his head.
"you're the dick 'samu!" the blonde screeched as the pair began to fight. suna merely added to his ever growing collection of blackmail, a small smile on his face. maybe he could find heiwa-kun later, that'd be good blackmail.

"he was a dick!" [name] huffed again, arms crossed indignantly. he had never been so offended. "he said we were weak and they were going to crush us tomorrow!"
jun and yuichi shared a small smile. they were glad he was finally showing his passion and it was sort of amusing to see him so rattled. "yeah, well you don't need to retaliate, just let the team speak for itself" yuichi's words earned a small sigh.
"i suppose you're right" the h/c haired boy's hands fell to his side, following jun's footsteps to the stands.
"i'm always right" yuichi scoffed, flicking [name]'s head from behind. he reached a hand up, holding the sore spot and glaring up at him as they sat down.
"don't let it go to your big head" he teased, eyes now flickering to the court where a game carried on to the third set. "is that fukurodani?" he leaned forwards now, surprised to see the tokyo team playing. they were versing kawahori high school with the score currently being 1-1. fukurodani led this third set, 21-17.
out of all the teams [name] studied during his national game marathons fukurodani was by far one of his favourite. he desperately wanted to play them, he wanted to see how he'd fair against an ace like bokuto koutarou. this national tournament would hopefully be his chance.
first though, they needed to pass inarizaki. one challenge at a time as takumi liked to remind them.

But then again, we were always a reclusive people, who didn't really see the point in making friendships." He looks away, mumbling something under his breath. He looks back at the screen. "In any case, I hear she is joining the tournament to preserve her family's dojo, which is a noble goal, I'll admit. Despite the fact that swords are no longer as popular as they once were, keeping one's sword arm sharp is a wise thing to do."

"I've heard a lot about Iwasaki-san, mainly her fighting career. Granted, I don't keep up with MMA, nor am I a fan of it. But I have seen a few of her matches when I was watching it with Takumi-san. I have to admit, I find the mass array of martial arts that are present within the organization to be quite fascinating."

A second key visual for the “Nami yo Kiitekure” (Wave, Listen to Me!) TV anime has been unveiled.
tacica will perform the opening music theme song, while Harumi will covering the ending theme. Kouki Uchiyama also joins the cast as the voice of Shinji.
The new project will air in April 2020.
-Synopsis-
“On a night out drinking to get over being duped and ditched by her last boyfriend, Koda Minare ends up providing a massive drunken rant—while blackout drunk—for Matou, the director of a radio station. The next day, she is shocked to hear her own voice being broadcast on the radio! She rushes to the studio, leaving her job at a curry soup and bread restaurant in jeopardy. However, her drunken rant and the next day’s impromptu damage-control live broadcast end up earning her an invitation to try working at the radio station!”
