are you aware of a new age-person called teal swan? a friend showed me and told me her stuff is "better" but I still get red flags from it. ty for responding if you do!

Oh yeah, Teal Swan is awful. Not only is she pushing that New Age conspirituality stuff, she's into that Satanic Panic ritual abuse mythology and uses questionable mystical means to "help" others find out how they were supposedly abused. (For anyone who hasn't been keeping up, both New Age conspirituality and the Satanic Panic SRA mythology are pure conspiracy theory derived primarily from stuff like The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion - an antisemitic hoax - and like blood libel and early modern witch panic. She's not a psychologist, but she effectively presents herself as someone who can help people with serious mental health issues. Very notably, she encouraged suicidal follows to visualize death, something which she sure as heck didn't run by any actual mental health professional first. Additionally, she's referred to death as a "reset button," which... let's face it, most people who believe in reincarnation aren't quite that, uh, flippant about it? Like, I'm not saying that she's encouraging suicide, but she's definitely not taking this very serious issue nearly seriously enough.

Additionally, people who've known Teal Swan personally report that she's extremely manipulative, controlling, and dishonest. her name is Teal Swan and she mostly spouts third wave feminist bullshit and new age spirituality thats probably rooted in nazism and white supremacy, she says things that are very general that can resonate with anyone and is a CULT LEADER.

I remember watching a video ab her from Telltale Owen Morgan like 8 months ago or so only to find a family member watching her shorts today bc apparently youtube was just BLASTING her on the reccomended page. Im sooo fucking sick of cults preying on vulnerable people and lets be real- ANYONE can be manipulated into joining a cult. Noone is immune to propaganda and thats what Teal Swan is doing.

If you recognize her, because someone u know is obsessed with her and falsely assumed she was some sort of professional or shrink bc of all the books she has and her shorts make it appear as tho shes always in a podcast talking to someone not there, she is a scammer and very VERY fucking dangerous. Youtube is recommending her videos alot esp her shorts which means more and more ppl are seeing it a buying into her new age bullshit, please warn ppl u know ab her if you've never heard of her. Alot of ppl dont even know who she is or that shes a cult leader and has been scamming people for years.

YIKES. where do I even begin?????

1) this is not the third wave of feminism. Third wave feminism did in part discuss embracing sexuality to take back power but reducing it to that when it also dealt with reproductive rights, sexual violence and a plethora of other issues is insulting to the work feminists did in those important areas.

2) if women wearing lipstick and high heels is "expressing sexuality" and "reclaiming power" why is it that almost all influencers, models, actresses etc happen to be exploring the exact same cookie cutter sexuality? Almost as if they are following a script? Human sexuality is incredibly diverse and varied. But also, if this is all about women's sexuality how come I never hear a PEEP about the clitoris? If this is about women's power then how come dressing sexy doesn't even give women power??? Women can and should wear whatever they want but acting like it's some progressive revolution to wear exactly what is fashionable is mislead. Yes, feminists can wear high heels. No, wearing high heels is not feminist.

3) "to me, nothing compares..." This is beauty sickness, plain and simple. And it's sad. You're glad you have the liberation to choose your own clothes??????? Dream bigger for fucks sake!!!!!!

4) she later talks about how important it is to fight the image of the Ugly Feminist. .....yeah no. There is nothing to fight. What is wrong with an ugly feminist? Nothing.

I searched for this woman after watching an abysmal YouTube video in which she explains that women will never be equal to men because they are simply "different energies". Beware of people saying they are feminists who spew this kind of sexist dogmatic nonsense.

They're people who failed to get the girl, get the job, or generally succeed in typical ways.

Teal Swan tried to become a model for years, but she was always rejected. Shoko Asahara was a social reject who preyed on weebs. Applewhite was fired from his job as a professor for sleeping with a student.

Cult leaders are sad people who lived sad lives before they decided that the only way to get what they "deserve" is to manipulate the shit out of people who just want to help others and feel special.

No single person has all the answers. No single person can make anyone special or more spiritually pure. They're just people who take advantage of other's goodwill and pain.

Anyone who claims they can give you everything you need, spiritually, emotionally, or politically, is lying to you.

I know this isn't something you'd want to hear but teal Swan s advice ( sone of it because I rarely watch such content nowadays) really helped me and worked for my situation. I know it might do worse for others, but I found her when I was in a really bad place mentally and her advice pulled me out of that state. This doesn't mean I suport her or I am a fan / follower of her movement, I just wanted to say that maybe for some people it works.

News flash: Pretty much every shitty spiritual leader has something to offer that genuinely works for some people. That's what reels them in and keeps them hooked even though they're getting horrendously abused otherwise. If they had nothing that actually worked to some extent, they'd never be able to amass a following, become spiritual leaders, and hurt so many people.

super interested to know if any of my followers have any experience with Teal Swan or her organization........i’d never heard of her before and am just starting the doc series The Deep End. apparently she’s a really popular, new age-y spiritual (cult) leader and I was surprised to find out even some people I know irl follow her.

i’ll let you guys know what i think once i get more into the series! it’s from the channel Freeform which i’ve never really liked so i’m also not sure if i trust them with a topic like this lol but we’ll see.
