In my head, Ogerpon is an RPG protagonist with:

a "fantasy-forbidding" single mother who was the hero of her own story, during which Ogerpon was adopted, and refuses to let Ogerpon on the battlefield,

older siblings who nudge her towards her dreams, even if it means disobeying their mother, and younger siblings who offer battle experience via actual battles,

an absent father she's only ever met like three times, but whose presence is felt in how her mother's treatment of her is informed by his absence, who left mostly because he got mind-controlled by the big bad, and

a nemesis who was responsible for the death of her first family and the separation of her second family, whom she ends up fighting with the power of love and family and The Cudgel

And this is what keeps Toxic Chain Kieran on the table for me

#pokemon scarlet and violet #pokemon ogerpon #dipplinshipping #trainer kieran #trainer juliana #rival kieran #i was just thinking about how i wouldn't want Ogerpon on the battlefield against Kieran realistically #then it spun out of control as Ogerpon and Miraidon are bench buddies and Juliana breaks her kneecaps by using only four from her team #at least until endgame when Miraidon joins as a fifth combat-ready member #because when Juli asked Kieran what he'd wanna do if he met the ogre #his answers were all non-combat related and very wholesome #and Ogerpon is so grateful that her trainer adores her but she also wants to pull her weight #so she gets training montages from everyone #and after Miraidon starts fighting she tries to get Juli to get her to put her on the field because she feels her benched status more keenl #but in the end she has to force herself out when Juli is on the verge of quitting Kieran's battle because Miraidon is struggling to do a 1v #so she comes in with Follow Me Grassy Terrain Spiky Shield and Synthesis for a tank build #that Juliana had no part in and didn't even know existed #Ogerpon swaps out Synthesis out for Ivy Cudgel so she can bonk Pecharunt

I am never drawing splatoon weapons again! holy shit that fucking sucked! #on the bright side I got to mess around a bit with some hair style concepts I’ve been rotating in my head #also I’m still working on giving these guys an updated story but my basic idea is that they’re a professional tower control team that has #been facing some conflicts as of late due to them all getting old enough to start having aspirations outside of their team #cherry is from the domes but her parents left with her when she was around 10 #blast went to the same school as her and the two became pretty close friends as selective mute buddies #then at some point cherry caught wind of this cool new sport called tower control and was like woahhh I wanna do that #so she just went up to the first person near the battle lobby she could find and was like hey how do I join? #and he got super excited since he has a reputation for being incapable of shutting up so someone willing coming up to him came as a shock #they showed her where to get weapons and how to join battles and the two became battle buddies real quick #this lead to blast getting super worried and anxious as she didn’t want to see her only friend get hurt or stolen from her #at which point cherry was like oh I know! why don’t you come battle with us? #and blast was like wait wait wait no what if I die and dont come back and then die again :[ #they managed to come to a compromise for a while tho and eventually blast was able to just barely squish past her fear enough to start #being kind of interested in tower control as she had started watching the other two play #and while she was still anxious abt the idea eventually she sheepishly admitted she wanted to give it a try #and she ended up really liking it! so the three kept playing together #and eventually they started to feel more and more like an actual team and egg noticed #they had been scouting a team to join for a lil while now and after getting to play with the three quite a few times and getting on friendly #terms with them they were like hey what if we became like an actual team who do tournaments and stuff

I have a confession to make girlies, I’m not fucking with the idea to keep the long hair/beard combo on Ryan for Eddie UNLESS it’s for a missing/presumed storyline where we see buck taking care of Chris and all the drama and trauma that ensues from everyone thinking Eddie is dead only for him to show up for xyz reason hence the long hair/beard

Like think kidnapping,or Hollywood amnesia, or coma but no identification vibes.

Yeah people hate when shows pull these storylines but I sometimes like a little temporary character death to see ultimate drama and emotions only for writers to go sike and you can’t really do that on non fantasy or supernatural themed shows without these silly little tropes

🎊 twst 4th year anni ABEMA stream 🎉

***TWST JP news + anniversary spoilers below the cut!***

The stream starts with Ace, Deuce, Jack, Ruggie, and Sebek's VAs replying to a bunch of quiz questions. I think Ace or Deuce responds with "810" when asked how many items there are on the Heartslabyul lounge's coffee table. Sebek's VA also has a hilarious answer when asked how many Draconians (wakasama fans) there are, he pulls out some super absurdly high number with tons of zeros in it.

There is then a Master Chef/Culinary Crucibles-type section where the VAs decorate their own cake for TWST's anniversary. It’s a team effort! Ace and Deuce put on the cream, Sebek added cookies on top, and Jack and Ruggie did the final decorations. It ended up looking pretty cute ^^ (Ace's VA is the one that added all the whipped cream peaks; it was mostly thanks to Ruggie's VA that the cake still looked aesthetically pleasing at the end.)

For anniversary, there will be a series of free items given out if you log in during the event period (11th to 25th), which includes THREE 10-pull keys (released on the 11th, 15th, and 18th, respectively). You can receive up to 12 days' worth of freebies. There will be an anniversary banner as per usual; you can earn tokens by pulling on this and then trade them in for a SR magical key (50 tokens) and/or past event-limited SSRs (150 tokens), including past years' birthday cards (100 tokens). There will be a new "Event Recollection" feature which allows you to experience events that you may have missed getting the initial chance to play through yourself.

Mr. S's Mystery Shop will sell items from past events such as limited Groovy materials and spell upgrade materials. This is called the "Memory Shop".

You will be able to mark (multiple) parts of the story as your "favorite". This will be indicated with a pink heart icon.

Battles will have a new feature which allows you to save team compositions for them. Up to 25 compositions may be saved at a time. You can also pin your supports, so you no longer have to scroll to find a specific friend's character to borrow.

There will be 3 new item gachas added to the "Item Lotto" of the shop (for Crewel, Vargas, and Trein). Previously, there was only Sam's. You use a new type of medal (obtained by taking classes) to roll on the teachers' lottos, and can pull items related to what you'd typically earn in each of their classes.

Crewel's gacha may provide an herbal tea which can be used to boost Buddy Levels, including those for characters that are otherwise unable to take Alchemy classes. That means Crowley, Rollo, etc. are fair game. (Yes, you can force feed them tea to obtain FRIENDSHIP✨) The tea may also drop during Special Lessons or Alchemy class.

We finally get magical key conversion! On the summoning screen, you can turn 10 single pull keys into one 10-pull key (which guarantees at least 1 SR; single keys do not have this benefit).

The Guest Room will receive a second floor to decorate. This will be unlocked once you reach a Guest Room rank of 31.

The Guest Room rank cap will be increased from 30 to 40. Additionally, all properties of floor 1 appears to carry over to floor 2. This means the same comfort level and attributes will be present across both.

New BGMs will be added to Mr. S's Mystery Shop. There will also be new voice lines added to Alchemy, Flying, and the outfit selection screen. The official TWST soundtrack will be released on the 29th of May, though preorders are tentatively open now. It is 140+ tracks (149, to be exact!) across 4 discs and goes for 4620 yen (inclusive of tax; without tax the soundtrack is 4200 yen). Japanese retailers are offering different dorms' A5 sized holographic sticker sheets as bonuses for preordering.

That's it for now, mostly quality of life changes! There will most likely be a 4th year anniversary PV/animated short on the actual anniversary day (the 18th)!
