Apologising in chapter 235
First of all I don't really know how 'in norm' that is, and how much of it is just Kotaro's way of being father
But that one thing about 'don't let him in until he apologises' finally connected in my head with a moment from chapter 236
And yeah I don't know if anyone already said it so I don't know if I repeat something known to everyone!
And before we get there it's a sad thing that official English translation decided to translate it differently for some reason both first and second one
And with how it's not so uncommon for chapters to not make sense because of it it's probably that again
Tumblr media
In official version Kotaro says that Nao and Tenko's grandparents shouldn't apologise to Tenko for Kotaro, that doesn't make sense especially with how other fan translations didn't choose it
Tumblr media
And if you take easiest way and just translate this from original Japanese vers he actually said that Tenko should apologise and only then come home
That makes Nao's worry seem less weird because if it was Tenko's will to go home when he pleases he wouldn't stay outside without any reason
But if it's forbidden until he apologises that makes a little bit more sense
So if we're done explaining why that scene is different actually
It's important that it is, because that directly connects to Tenko trying to speak even if his voice doesn't work
He had to apologise to his Father, otherwise he's not allowed to come home
And with how he stayed outside until dark he probably didn't do it before his Quirk activated
Tumblr media
So yeah if that scene didn't feel as bad, with how Kotaro reacted to Tenko's words... he understood why Tenko said it
So the fact that Tenko tried to get help from Kotaro only after apologising makes sense
And fact that Tomura apologised for Kotaro's hand falling is probably not so different from that, so that little rule never really left
Tumblr media
And with how hands of his family and his Father allowed him to do everything he wanted with them close
Tumblr media
Because he allowed himself to use his Quirk only if they allowed it
AFO said that he controlled himself not even knowing it and that's why
Tumblr media
So that moment of Tomura destroying his Father's hand is kinda more powerful knowing this
He didn't need his Father allow him to do anything anymore

Okay
I don't know what happened, I don't know if Horikoshi had input or what. But they clearly took a different approach this season. I mean last season had an arc that was SOLELY about the villains, and that wasn't enough for them to get the kind of focus they did this season.
I don't know how to explain it but it's like the anime team finally GETS IT.
Like yes!! The villains are important!! Their connections to the heroes are important!!! Let's draw attention to that NOW since it's like 90% of the focus for the final arc!!!!
Because not only did they focus on the villains, they focused on who they're connected to on the hero side.
Look at Ochacko and Toga, who for the most part don't get much focus in art and extra stuff:
Tumblr media
Ochacko (she looks sooo pretty in that first picture 😭) turns around and sees Toga's handkerchief. Ochacko never saw that handkerchief, it was never something that was brought to her attention. But her seeing it here, and then it immediately flashing to:
Tumblr media
Toga and Twice, who are connected by the handkerchief. And Twice was Toga's breaking point during this arc, and that breaking point brought her to Ochacko.
I love the way they used that here, it's subtle but it's obvious. 10/10
Then Touya (I wonder what anime only people who really avoid spoilers think of this lolol)
I love how they drew the connection to BOTH of his parents. Not just the one, but both. It really drives it home that it’s not about Touya’s dad. It’s not about Endeavor. It’s about their family. The family Endeavor and Rei both created. All of them are important.
Tumblr media
Beautiful, amazing, heart breaking.
The only slight disappointment is the absence of Shouto, but his role becomes much more prominent later. So I’m sure we’ll see them together in openings and endings in the last season.
Then the butterfly, and the dream scape that Shigaraki wakes up from, into a brand new "life form", after sleeping in a cocoon for four months, like a butterfly.
Tumblr media
Then we get some moments that aren't in the manga, but expand on what IS in the manga.
Shigaraki looking at all the destruction he just caused with the touch of a hand. Looking like he's thinking.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then The Trauma, and no more thinking. Time for more destruction.
Then:
Tumblr media
I have nothing much to say here. I do love the way they adjusted from the manga panel and made Tenko stand up, just to make it a little different. He's a tad bit taller, even though they're technically the same age in that panel. And I LOVE how they put Tenko in the shadows, and Izuku in the light walking toward the shadows. Just, 10/10. (lol at their current height difference tho, shig is quite a bit taller lmaooo)
Eyes. Looking at the lonely path ahead, both of them.
Tumblr media
Again, looking at the lonely, self-destructive path ahead. Both of them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyway—I’m done I think. I wasn’t expecting anything like this. I’m glad I kept my expectations minimal because I get pleasantly surprised.
10/10, all of it.

Turning tragedy into hope-Let him lose those arms
I’ve tried making this post three times so let’s hope that third times the charm y’all.
I’m just gonna come out and say it but when I saw that panel where Izuku doesn’t have any hands I literally got so excited.
AND ITS NOT BECAUSE I LIKE MY FAVORITE CHARACTER GETTING BRUTALIZED (well? I do think it’s a little funny but shhh)
But it’s because this has been foreshadowed almost as much as the handhold itself between Izuku and Katsuki. And it’s wonderfully tragic in the best of ways. Literally half of the commentary surrounding it when it came out in the leaks was “omg I thought of that!” Because literally everyone and their mother KNEW this was coming in some form. Izuku was going to lose an arm, and that would be the case.
Hell, even outside of the story the amount of official art and AU’s Horikoshi drew that had Izuku without an arm is astounding. Like it’s so painfully obvious that this was coming, and so he upped the shock when he made Izuku lose them both.
Izuku is even doing his white eye thing, he isn’t shocked, he’s angry. My dude is pissed. Clearly, to me at least, the loss of his hands is less of a shock to him and more so that he’s angry that afo took away the reason he lost them in the first place—Tenko.
Y’all gotta remember who Izuku is, he’s the stubborn motherfucker that refused time and time again to give up on his dreams, he’s the one that illegally saved Iida and Katsuki, he’s the one that refused to let go of Tenko’s hands because when he was in his time of need, it comforted him.
Izuku has been told by his doctors for over a year atp that he was going to eventually either lose his hands, or lose the function within them. He’s accepted that. He can try to stop it, hold it off through equipment and treatment, but at the end of the day, everything breaks eventually. He knows that. We know that.
So if he was going to lose his arms in some way, it’d be through this: saving someone, holding their hands, never letting go, comforting them.
It’s tragic and sacrificial, but Aizawa’s the same. Did we make theories about how Eri is gonna heal him from being an amputee? Did the story say “actually due to this cool magical illusion/quirk it was all a mirage/eri could heal it”? No, it didn’t. Did Mirko somehow get her arms and legs back because they’re tied to how she views her strength? No, she didn’t.
And there’s a reason they didn’t. Multiple reasons they didn’t. They’re heroes, their scars tell their stories.
Not even mentioning how that’s such a trope (“everyone else keeps their long term injuries except for the main character because he’s special and gets main character powers, like not getting a disability from a dangerous job! :)”), but why should eri, a little girl, be responsible for everyone’s injuries? She doesn’t even have full control yet, she’s playing it by day. (People LOVE to talk about how all the 1-A kids are just kids fighting in a war, except when it comes to a little girl being responsible for everyone’s injuries, somehow)
The reason eri was shown wasn’t because she was going to somehow save the day, but because she wasn’t. It was supposed to stop those theories from having actual merit, because eri doesn’t actually have the built up strength to help.
So, with that out of the way, I wanted to say how this is so fucking beautiful. It’s tragic yes, Izuku and Katsuki never got to hold hands, not properly, but maybe the measure of their trust is beyond that. Maybe, an embrace could suffice—this would go back to Izuku’s vigilante arc. Where, instead of holding hands, Katsuki caught him when he needed to. And he’s going to do it, again and again.
Maybe holding a robot or silicone arm won’t feel the same, but it’s the feelings surrounding it that matters, not the act itself. The hand hold is still there, the hands still haunt the narrative like a mouse within the walls. It bites at cords like their own emotional walls.
Katsuki missed his chance, over and over again, and he’s going to have to come to terms with that. But that’s not to say that the story won’t let this aspect haunt the narrative like it always has. It’s still THERE, and I believe in Horikoshi to continue to write a story about hands while the main character doesn’t even have them.
Izuku’s hands are tied to his strength, physically and emotionally. He views them has the glue that ties his heroics to himself. His hands have always reached out to others, his hands have always punched those who were wrong, and even when he had to switch fighting styles he still saw them as the reason he was able to fight at all. They represent OFA, his love, his anger, his weakness, his strength. They represent his sense of self, and yet he’s more outraged than hurt that he lost them for Tenko to be free—only for AFO to take away that freedom all over again.
THATS why the loss had to happen. THIS. He lost something so incredibly valuable to himself, but he lost them of his own accord. He could have let go of Tenko at any moment, yet he didn’t because he wanted Tenko to know comfort and freedom. He wanted him to be free.
You could say that Tenko was telling Izuku to let go because he was breaking down his emotional resolve, and I believe you could also say that he was telling Izuku to let go so he doesn’t hurt someone who tried to help him all over again. You could say it’s both. It’s selfish and selfless, like everything in this story is. But Izuku refused to, and that was a choice Tenko could never take away from him.
So, that’s how I’ll turn this tragedy to hope, because this was done out of Izuku’s love, why take away that meaning?
Why put them back?
Why take away those scars?
Scars tell stories, they tell you how we became the greatest heroes.

This Chapter Climax: MHA 418
We are basically at climax of the war arc as Izuku was able to connect to Tenko. To assure him and show that he is still there for him at the least wanting to help him lost his hatred. It was painful, terrible, he lost his arms but he didn't get up holding his arm.
Because Tenko was crying and Izuku would not abandon him. He knows how important it is to hold a lost child's hand.
It's such a gentle and soft thing to see. He even presses his forehead against Tenko in a loving manner. But even if might be able to let go of his hatred, the thing that kept him going because it the only way to justify why he is like this... He still wants to be a hero to his friends, the other villains.
It's a touching moment, showing how from the villain's side they truly were the underdogs. They were on their own heroes journey just on the inverse side of the broken and the damned. It's beautiful but then a memory that belongs to neither Tomura or Izuku breaks that moment.
It's Kotaro, Tomura's dad looking surprised and smiling at a 'construction' worker. They talk like good friends, he is asked about Tenko and admits still has no powers. Something is very very wrong.
As there is one being that will despise the idea that there is some kind of choice. That you can live like that, listless yet still doing things for others? To allow yourself to become weakened by those around you much less someone that should be your enemy!?
All for One emerges no longer held back by Tenko's will and consumes the boy. Flinging Izuku away with venom as says how Tenko has never made a single decision of his own. Now the true fight with a true villain shall begin.
This chapter honestly has me going mental not just because AFO returned but the fact they were able to humanize Tomura and all the villains. To show they had endured so much terrible truama and yet all the heroes still tried to help them let go of their hatred. The nasty feelings in their heart because they cared, and Tomura moment impressed and brought me joy.
And AFO coming in was expected as it was literally mentioned by AFO Prime that the vestige has a trump card he can use. Bakugou saying he died can also mean he has been reborn. Meaning Hori was definitely planning to activate it now especially now that Tomura is no longer suppressing him. With Izuku no longer having OFA this is actually dangerous at the moment they are in the vestige but who is to say it won't get worse.
Because AFO is the actual true threat as the two hundred year old monster who has been living in debauchery for so long. It makes you wonder how is Izuku going to handle this. His real body it wrecked it was being puppeteer by Blackwhip which he no longer has. There aren't many heroes around as they went him to handle Tomura.
Ain't looking good for our hero, All for One ain't here to give a happy ending and that's why I'm excited.

Chapter 361, Abnormal Happenings
Did this chapter feel extremely short, or is it just me?
On Tenko:
Honestly, the stuff I have the strongest reaction to is the sort of things I see other fans saying about Tenko, and I’ve resolved to try to get away somewhat from responding-to-responses in these posts.  So trying to look at only what’s going on in the story itself, my problems with Tenko are much as they have been.  He feels like a weird idealized vision that’s easy to look at and want to save when the truth of Shigaraki and his grudges are much more challenging and difficult to address.
I feel like Tenko could work better as a sort of metaphorical “pole” within Tomura, a representation of, if you will, his nature contrasting AFO’s nurture.  However, this would work better if the AFO inside him were also a metaphor, rather than a literal invading consciousness.  As it stands, Tenko and AFO don’t represent equal forces in Tomura—not in the sense of being equal in power, which I wouldn’t expect them to be, but rather, they literally aren’t the same type of entity, so they don’t feel like appropriate foils.
I have read at least one rather fun fic where Tenko is a quirk vestige—a quirk neither the Shimuras, AFO, nor Tomura himself ever realized he had.  And that would certainly be a twist, though it would raise the pressing question of where the vestige for Decay is.(1)
Though, one thing that would be an entirely delightful twist—and credit entirely goes to @codenamesazanka for this—is if Inner Tenko is the “lump of lead” Shigaraki talks to Ujiko about, the source of Shigaraki’s never-ending rage.  His anger predated AFO, after all; it was forged in his childhood home and on that long walk where no one helped him.  That holds, I think, even if AFO gave him Decay.(2)  You could even draw the parallel that AFO gave Tenko his family hands to preserve the negative feelings from that day, and here we find Tenko, still covered in those grasping, clutching hands even after Tomura cast off all but one of them months ago. And he certainly had quite the angry reaction to Mirio's statement about him lacking friends!
A huge chunk of the (English-speaking) villain fanbase would riot, but I would like it.
(Speaking of the friends bit, it has been pointed out by a chat buddy that while Mirio and Inner Tenko use tomodachi there, the word the League use for one another is that good old shounen standby, nakama. So perhaps it makes sense that what falls out of the messy amalgamation that is Tomura right now is an appeal to the tomodachi he once had, rather than the nakama of today. I have been mildly placated by this.)
That all said, I do wonder what’s up with this particular flashback here?
Tumblr media
I had assumed that this moment was ShigAFO leaning down and using some kind of quirk to detect things underground.  He even gives that word of warning to Dabi, who charges ahead regardless.  But that doesn’t seem to be even slightly relevant to Vestige!AFO thinking about his and Shigaraki’s mind-meld, so....?
On the 3As:
Mirio continues to be a good kid.  His stammered apology is good stuff, and I love him thinking that he felt Shigaraki hesitate—making villains hesitate is, in fact, a great reason for heroes to try talking to them!
More significantly, I appreciate Nejire getting some actual development.  She went felt wildly underutilized in the Hassaikai arc, and her her big thing being winning a beauty pageant while Tamaki and Mirio were out there having big dramatic flashback-filled battles against villains was just insulting.  So I like her flashbacks here, and I particularly appreciate that it circles back to her weird nosy questions.  Frankly, given the sorts of questions she asked Class 1-A when she was first introduced—asking Shouji about his mask, Shouto about his scar, Mina about her horns—it’s no surprise she makes bad first impressions!
…It is a bit of a shame to just cram Yuyu into the background of that panel with Suneater and then exclude her entirely from people Nejire reflects on learning about at UA, though.  I suppose the generous read is that she’d been friends with Yuyu prior to UA, so she didn’t need the confines of UA to learn about her.  Still.
I also don’t love the ongoing adventures of giving the gals in this comic supporting roles to the dudes,(3) even though Nejire herself has the quirk that, on the surface, should have the most raw oomph of any of the Big Three.  Eh.  It’s a toss-up, but I do like the development, anyway.
Do your best, Suneater!  Though I expect about the best you can hope for is a result akin to burning AFO alive and then watching in horror as he evolves into his next form.  At least it’s one more form down before the final one?(4)
We'll see how that works out for you or doesn't next time.
--FOOTNOTES--
1: One of my assumptions about the difference between an original quirk and one of Ujiko’s lab-created replicas is that only the original has a vestige.  So I suppose Decay could be a created quirk AFO was just carrying long enough to pass it off to Tenko at the door.
2: It had better hold, anyway.  Making AFO the author of Tenko’s grudge against society would be this manga’s ultimate high crime against its own themes, the single thing it could do that would most succinctly scoop out all of its own meaning and impact.
3: See also: Tsuyu's job in the teamwork play at USJ being to get Deku and Mineta off the ship while the boys combine forces to actually deal with the villains; Kendo dispersing Mustard's gas for Tetsutetsu to get the finishing blow in; Momo providing the tracker that got the boys to Kamino but having no role in Deku’s plan to rescue Bakugou; Ryukyu and the girls staying outside at the Hassaikai compound to buy the all-male everyone-else team time to continue on inside to where all the character development is happening; La Brava powering up Gentle; probably a bunch of school stuff I don’t remember; Mina fumbling her dose of sedative just in time to give Kirishima an extra shot at it after he blows his own; and so on.  Even when this goes the other way—e.g. Kamui Woods trying to get Midnight up close to Gigantomachia; Lady Nagant using Overhaul to distract Deku—it seems like it fails a lot more often than the other way around.
4: Or, you know—spoilers for 361—it could have no effect at all.  I choose to chalk this up to the ongoing messaging about the futility of taking out Shigaraki with violent force and not the manga being deeply muddled in how much it actually values teamwork.  More on that next time, maybe.

Like Fizzy Soda Bubbles Kitchen Ballrooms Etc.
by Naonan
"This is what victory is, she thinks; something quiet and loud, something ugly and beautiful, something fizzy, like a bottle of soda, and something sudden, like bubblegum popping before you finish blowing the bubble."
OR
I listened to "Forever Young" by Alphaville and the lyrics made me think of these nerds in the wake of the end of the war, happy and relieved, and I let two of my favorite dorks dance and be all lovey dovey in the sky afterward.

Had a daydream and I wanna outline it and share some doodles;
-To start, I'm bouncing off the Possessed!Deku idea
-AND OK SO Izuku has to get into the mind space of OFA vs AFO to try to save Tomura(Tenko). He kind of manages to get through but AFO still has his spiritual fingers all up in Tenko's mental representation, like we saw in that instance during the war arc.
-Tomura is still disbelieving that Izuku would actually do what it takes to save him, that he's all talk, like all heroes. There's nothing substantial to his claims of wanting to save him from AFO, even if Tomura wants it.
-Izuku, selfless as he is, offers himself up as trade for Tomura.
-Tomura thinks he is crazy, AFO laughs his head off, genuinely amused by the turn of events. But to everyone's surprise, AFO RELASES Tomura and, in that mental scape, surges forth and takes hold of Izuku.
-Izuku wakes up, but he's possessed, and immediately, AFO, through him, begins fighting Katsuki, who had been Izuku's immediate guardian on the physical side of things. Tomura is snapped back into control of his body, but immediately loses consciousness off to the side.
-AFO uses OFA through Deku to really throw Katsuki around, Katsuki realizes pretty much immediately what happened, and tries to not only fight AFO, but break through to Izuku. Maybe AFO fights some of the other heroes around but probably Katsuki the most because of his significance, and because Katsuki would be front and center and focused on trying to get Izuku back. (Its kind of his personal mission to help Izuku, after all)
-Of course this is how KvD pt. 3 could come up. Similar to Deku saying he was "the only one who could accept Kacchan's feelings," Katsuki takes initiative in fighting Deku, he's the only one who can do this rn, to contain Izuku.
-but with access to all of Izuku's quirks, AFO pretty easily knocks him around, espeically since Katsuki doesn't want to ACTUALLY hurt Izuku while he's possessed.
-Throw in some dialogue of AFO taunting Katsuki in Izuku's voice, and Katsuki having none of that shit.
- Eventually AFO!Izuku throws him into the ground, holds him down and is about to punch him into the dirt when Katsuki speaks again, panting and nearing exhaustion,
-"Stupid Deku, snap out of it...I fucking love you" (Very similar vibes to San and Ashitaka when he tells her she's beautiful at knifepoint, in Princess Mononoke)
-Suddenly, and surprisingly, Izuku's eyes overflow with tears. AFO pauses, but then LAUGHS, because it's basically Izuku's mind hearing what Katsuki said, knowing he was hurting Kacchan against his will, but not being able to control himself under AFO's possession. So all he can do is cry at Katsuki's words. AFO kinda gets sadistic about it and mocks the boys.
-BUT HEYO, AFO moves on quickly, and we get some sadistic-looking shots of AFO!Deku looking over his shoulder, because...AFO HIMSELF IS ROLLING UP.
-Izuku, possessed, starts floating up towards AFO to meet him.
-Katsuki yells and fights and explodes, trying to break free of Black Whip(AFO using to restrain him), screaming for Deku.
-Meanwhile, nearby, Tomura regains consciousness and sees AFO, the man he now knows has manipulated him his entire life(and maybe even has been revealed to be the catalyst to him even HAVING the Decay quirk and destroying his life/family in the first place)...and sees Izuku possessed and inching closer to AFO's outstretched hand.
-Izuku is inches from AFO's hand, when suddenly,
-He is suddenly snapped out of possession and AFO lurches in front of him
-Tomura has sent out the same tendrils he had used in the War Arc to try to skewer Izuku, but they have arced around him, and landed in the torso of AFO.
-Tomura eventually not only fights AFO, but ends up decaying him for everything he's done to him.
-Fill in the blanks before during and after, to taste, this is just kind of a loose idea. Of course, this doesn't account for any Predecessor shenanigans in the OFA space. Ofc, we STILL need that big reveal of the second's Quirk, which apparently will be a game changer. So this was kinda just a fun what-if.
UHH YEAH I just started doodling this after noon and went a bit nuts. Thought I would share this self-indulgent idea. And yes that aftermath bkdk doodle there, I love with my whole heart rn lmao.
NGL, the idea of possessed Izuku is kind of growing on me, esp if we get to see a little bit of AFO's sadisim through Izuku's innocent little face, and I love the drama of Katsuki and Izuku's relationship and partnership in the final battle being thrown into chaos like this.
POSSESSION THEORY IS ACTUALLY KINDA APPEALING.
Additionally, I kinda like this quasi-redemption theory for Tomura. I really do hope that he fucking DESTROYS AFO, after all the manipulation and gaslighting and arguably, theoretically, setting the stage for Tenko to have his life destroyed(kinda high-key hope THAT theory is true)

So I do have a thing for Tomura as u know..
When I started to watch bnha, tbh I never thought I’m gonna end up admiring him that much
It was really the early times, USJ n stuff
But then, idk when, but there was a point I was like:
Wow
I like this guy
I admire him
I want more
..
But there was no 4th and 5th season, idk how about the 3rd one -
So I was like: fuck waitin, let’s read.
And I did❤️‍🔥
What I did not have that much is money
Be a patriot and benefit the stuff, I get it and I really would but I’m from Easter Europe so that where it turns impossible
I have no money for class 1A bein happy n stuff..
Although

how 325 moves the plot forward
Tumblr media
This chapter highlights one of the main themes of the manga: connection by way of understanding.
However, the idea hasn't quite come full circle yet because it hasn't explicitly included OFA's ("heroes") connection to AFO ("villains") to the characters. This piece is missing, and it makes sense because it's through Hawks's inner monologue and thus limited understanding that we are introduced to this concept of OFA being a quirk that connects people.
But, the readers know OFA and AFO are linked, meaning that, just like OFA has connected the heroes and civilians right now, the villains are an inescapable part of this bond, too. This is a concept that the story seems to be expanding upon, considering that Deku saw Tenko crying through their dreamscape and realized Shigaraki was someone who needed saving, too.
Not to mention that the idea that AFO and OFA are connected has been brought up multiple times by the vestiges. In 286, Shigaraki and Deku even interacted in the same dreamscape. OFA's dreamscape always shows a door that has yet to be opened
Tumblr media
which leads me to believe that Shigaraki is probably behind it. That door connects OFA and AFO. When Deku opens it, they'll be connected. Shigaraki will be the key to defeating AFO - after Deku has reached him. That's the power of OFA, after all.
Tumblr media
I love that Iida and Ochako are so in sync ;-; It's beautiful that two of Deku's first and closest friends understand his heart and want to be there for him by stepping back and letting others reach him.
Tumblr media
This callback to the true spirit of heroism All Might wanted to represent: that anyone could be a hero regardless of quirks. That heroes are everyday people who do everyday things like support one another in their time of need and look out for one another.
Tumblr media
This panel is beautiful for many reasons:
The symbolism of the umbrellas: shelter, understanding, unity, sharing pain and burdens, kindness, acceptance, altruism.
Class rep Iida leading a lost child to safety like the hero he always wanted to be.
The gentleness of the way Iida holds Deku's hand, and how relaxed Deku is being led by Iida. Deku feels safe enough to cover his eyes and trusts Iida blindly.
Deku crying, his mom crying, Mineta and Kouta trying to mother Deku, and that kid who asked Deku for hope sheltering Deku with his umbrella.
Kirishima crying because he's so touched.
Momo graciously accepting a civilian's umbrella.
Bakugo stubbornly dodging any connections like the sewer gremlin he is the same way he was annoyed by Endeavor embracing him along with Natsuo. It looks like Kaminari tried to put his hand on Bakugo's back and Bakugo was like, "sWEEERVE I'M NOT HERE FOR THIS TOUCHY FEELY CRAP." lmao.
Shouji, the gentle giant, looking so shocked that someone so dainty and smol feels the need to protect him from the world (the rain).
Mina and Jirou are quick to tell a civilian who is presumably apologizing that it's not needed (based on body language, anyway).
The soft expression of the giant woman as she watches her hero accept help from others, too.
Tumblr media
It's an interesting choice on Hori's part that Shouto, Endeavor, and Hawks aren't in the crowd. They're outsiders to the heart-to-heart currently happening and aren't particularly rejoicing like the civilians and UA students. The mood is dire. It could be because there is strife between father and son right now – the civilians have agreed to work together with the heroes and are proving that through action: accepting Deku and offering umbrellas (shelter, understanding, acceptance, support, kindness) to the students. But unlike the civilians, Endeavor’s words and actions have yet to line up. He promised to work together with Shouto to stop Touya but hasn’t pulled through yet. He's still running away. In fact, Shouto called him out for ignoring him and thus ignoring Touya and the family problem he (Endeavor) caused. These two being bystanders to the civilians and students bonding makes sense because the Todoroki family has always suffered silently and their struggle right now is theirs and doesnn't involve civilians. Society didn't create Dabi or abuse the family - Endeavor did.
Also, I want to note that Hawks’s one-sided childhood connection to Endeavor explains why he’s isolated alongside Shouto and Endeavor, once again hinting that there will be more Hawks’s involvement in the Todoroki family arc.
Tumblr media
Speaking of Hawks, this is a callback to his ideal world, one where there is such an abundance of peace that heroes have spare time on their hands. It seems like Hori is building up to address Hawks' views of the world and definition of heroism because, like I mentioned earlier, the characters don't yet know how OFA and AFO are connected and therefore don't realize how villains are tied to OFA too through AFO.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The civilian's realization that they've been complacent bystanders is a great narrative response to what happened to Tenko. This is setting a foundation of societal change, which MUST happen for the villains to be understood and saved from self-destructing.
Tumblr media
I wrote here about how it makes sense Aizawa is hellbent on payback - a common reaction to grief is anger. This man needs a hug.
Like Shouto, Endeavor, and Hawks, All Might is also shown separated from the others and looking even more miserable. He seems to be walking away from UA, and the mood for this scene is ominous, which is even more startling compared to the hopeful vibes the interaction at the beginning of the chapter.
Anyway, this was such a good chapter. I love that things are being brought up again and addressed. Seems like we're finally moving forward!

When you think about the individual statistics of the bnha / mha characters, no other person has lost as much as Shigaraki Tomura has.
Let's see a list of the people he has lost so far:
Nana Shimura, his grandma from his father side (dead).
His grandma from his mother side (dead).
His grandpa from his mother side (dead).
Nao Shimura, his mother (dead).
Kotaro Shimura, his father (dead).
Hana Shimura, his sister (dead).
Mon-chan, his dog (dead).
Kurogiri, his parental figure (captured).
AFO, another terrible parental figure (that man never loved him I mean).
Magne, a friend (dead).
Twice, a friend (dead).
Mr. Compress, a friend (captured).
Giran, a friend (captured).
Toga, a friend (unknown location).
And now he doesn't even have his own body. This boy has lost like no one on this manga. And the people who hasn't died, they have several consequences like losing fingers, losing arms, etc.
The deaths surrounding Shigaraki are also more explicit and terrible than the rest. He has witnessed himself a good number of those deaths, at least half of them. All of them have been directly related to him, which means Shigaraki can freely blame himself for what happened, even if those were accidents and even if the people actively choose to participate on the actions that lead them to their deaths.
Shigaraki has the greatest killing rate, thanks to the big waves of his quirk he used both on the MVA arc and the War arc.
He has all the reasons to believe he's a monster. The problem comes when you realize he is a created monster, he wasn't born like that, contrary to what AFO has suggested before. What happened on the MVA and the War arc are twin situations to what happened with Tenko the night his quirk awoken. He lost his mind and the control over his quirk, leading to great catastrophes. We have evidence that he was not thinking clearly on those moments of great kill, but he was rather in great pain and very very scared, tortured by his mind. That pain and fear was caused by a great abuse that generated the feeling of pure hatred. In his three big killings, there's a pattern of him remembering his past and what happened with the Shimuras.
Now, almost half of the people on the list above choose to sacrifice themselves. Three of those people do it in order to save Tomura: Nao Shimura, Kurogiri and Mr. Compress. They have in common that they acted as Shigaraki's parental figures. We could include AFO, but only if we see what happen on Kamino from Shigaraki's perspective. We could include Twice but he was not exactly sacrificing himself consciously, he wanted to scape alive.
Two people on that list tried to kill Shigaraki: Kotaro and AFO. Both tried to shape his mind into what they wanted it to be and that lead to Tomura being unstable and sometimes unpredictable. We can see the symbolism of this in the fact that Kotaro's hand was always over Tomura's face, almost wanting to erase his identity, and when AFO possessed Tomura one of the first things we saw was him tearing apart Tomura's face. Other moment related to this is Tomura's confession to Doctor Ujiko in the beginning of My Villain Academia, were he states that he couldn't remember clearly his life before AFO. With limited information, including the years of manipulation from AFO, Tomura came to the conclusion he would never be satisfied and he would rather destroy it all– except what his colleagues wanted to save.
However, the majority of the people on that list loved Tomura and wanted to see him safe. What does this boy has that people keeps sacrificing themselves in order to try and save him? What makes them want to save Tomura?
Not matter how hard AFO tried to make a monster out of Tomura, we see how people keep reaching for him seeking comfort or even seeking a better future. For some reason, Tomura generates love in the hearts of those closer to him. Magne, Twice, Giran, Kurogiri, Mr. Compress, all of them gave beautiful speechs of love and acceptance, of protecting the people they like, of working towards a better future. Nao ran towards her son, Hana apologized for leaving him while being scared.
Or if you like, let me give you the maximum example: Deku changed drastically his hero path after witnessing himself who exactly was the real Tomura Shigaraki.
The reason why Deku looks like a villain on the last chapters is because there's a war inside of him– and also because it's the closes he has ever been to understanding the villains, by being on their shoes. While peeking through Tomura's mind Deku finally realized the reality of the hero society condition, and Deku is currently on a painful progress of growing, along with going through a phase of being an outcast and a rejected kid himself. Like a child exposed to war, or like a child getting more mature after a big trauma, Deku is reshaping himself in the light of what he knows now but didn't know before. Living on the streets, not eating enough, having people wanting to put you aside so you wouldn't alter their safety or peace, being painted as a problem or an object or a weapon rather than being seen as a human being in need of help...
While AFO's plan was to make Tomura suffer to increase his hate, he couldn't predict that Tomura would be the one to inspire Deku to love in a way he has never love before. Tomura's breaking point was also the breaking point for Deku, but while Tomura dives into the darkness, Deku fights his way over the stormy clouds to reach for the light.
Ultimately, everything surrounding Tomura is exactly what allows MHA / BNHA to be the story of how Deku became the greatest hero out there. The fact that Tomura refused to give up, refused to be who everyone wanted to be... even if he fails again and again, what counts here is that he is unbreakable. Even in the deep of his conscious, he awaits for another chance. Deku and Tomura are the ones who surpassed any limits, any expectations, in order to produce a real change in the roots of society itself.
So you can say that in parallel with Deku, (and there are some interesting implications in this one), Tomura hasn't been defeated by the rain either. Like two sides of the same coin, either they drown together or rise together.

hello would you like to talk about shigaraki having a redemption arc?
Hello there darling.
While I would like to talk Shigaraki and his 'redemption arc', I think we need to distinguish two things first of all: the identities of Shimura Tenko and that of Shigaraki Tomura; as well as the concept of redemption and atonement, which I think might both apply, but about that in a minute. This distinction is necessary because of one fundamental detail: I think Shigaraki Tomura will go through atonement, while Shimura Tenko through redemption. There is no particular why I think that might happen, but by definition redemption means ‘saving or being saved from evil’, while atonement ‘make amends for a wrong’ - and as we know that the villains will be saved, in the end, they will go through a redemption arc; however, their villain counterparts (Dabi; Shigaraki; Toga) will have to necessarily also go through an atonement arc - not necessarily because they need to, but because their identities as a villain have determined their ‘worth’ in the eyes of society for so long, that straight up accepting and get used to the villain having caused so much ruckus in the past years, coming back full-fledgly to society might be a drag.
This is even more highlighted in Shigaraki, especially as his ‘fusion’ with AfO has exposed his utmost “weakness”: his past and him identifying with Shimura Tenko deep down. I don’t mean weakness in a literal sense however, but more of an emotional aspect which is both the source of Shigaraki’s strength but also what keeps him grounded and what is his biggest obstacle (as well as AfO’s): it just means that feelings other than hatred and anger are harboured so deep down that not even Shigaraki could acknowledge them, but that nonetheless presuppose the existence of someone who is not the Shigaraki Tomura created by AfO, and who for better or worse, could be so much more than being reduced to a puppet in search for a meaning. This is why, his identities, their respective feelings and their desires are interconnected but separated - the same but different, in the way only someone who is deeply traumatised could fully express. Here lies the beauty of Shigaraki’s character: a soul that is fractured in pieces, each opposed to each other and each representing a different faucet of his personality, that in AfO’s hands is slowly dying, and losing consciousness. One of them however, is the identity of Shimura Tenko, that Shigaraki knows as himself and another person at the same time, and while they might go through a redemption arc, their collision and existence at the same time might be a overkill both for himself and for a future society. After all, Shigaraki Tomura is the product of that society that he so deeply wants to discard, change and recreate, to decay and destroy - but the only way he knows of doing it is through himself. In a metaphor, I think this is the most fitting parallel of them all: Shigaraki Tomura has to die, exactly like the rose-colored society citizens and heroes have lived so far cushioned by AfO and the HPSC respectively - so that Shimura Tenko and a new, just society might rise.
Which brings me to why Shigaraki has to go through an atonement arc before, and when that is done - Shimura Tenko will likely go through redemption. This will likely look as if Shigaraki Tomura will fight and help defeat AfO, and then forsake the identity of Shigaraki and instead recognise himself as being Shimura Tenko (looking exactly like the child he still recognises himself in, deep down).
Tumblr media
As it might be inferred, Midoriya will be crucial in that. He is the only one who has realised that there is another identity hiding inside Shigaraki, beside that of AfO - and that is indeed, expressed by the purity and the innocence of a kid, which is why Izuku is also drawn as a kid, who wants to offer him a hand (whic is another on-going theme with Shigaraki).
Tumblr media
He is not dying the existence of Shigaraki and his crimes, but rather getting at the origin and the core of Shigaraki, and that is not a Shigaraki at all, but a kid whose best friend was a dog, and who has been forgotten by a society which had sworn to protect him and his dreams: again, a reminder of what Midoriya might have become if the circumstances had arose. But since the travel in which Shigaraki has embarked is one which difficulties, and quests he has to go through in order to evolve (which in this case, instead is a regression in a state of childhood, and safety) and crimes for which he has to atone, before being able to forsake his identity and move forward to accept the hand Midoriya Izuku will be sure to extend him.
I hope this at least clarifies a bit what I mean with my thoughts, and I am sorry this got this long. Thank you for the question!

1 Thing I Love & 1 Thing I Hate About EVERY Danganronpa Character Part 1
Part 2
SPOILERS FOR ALL THREE MAIN GAMES
I’d love to hear our opinions as well in the comments or my inbox or DM’s! If you try this trend with DR characters, tag me!
Tumblr media
Sayaka Maizono
♡ Her passion for her career and friends.
✘ The way she tries to screw over Makoto when the game had just begun. Like wait and see what happens before screwing over such a great guy? Leon didn’t deserve it either.
Leon Kuwata
♡ His voice actor (English), and how real and human his execution was in that we all would be so scared and irrational. It was just so iconic and sad as it’s our first introduction to the death in this series and we all think: “shit, this is real... they are really killing these kids.” I didn’t think it would be that brutal, just seeing his body limp at the end with the haunting music.
✘ His design is disgusting. I hate how he looks.
Chihiro Fujisaki
♡ So innocent, so kind, so intelligent
✘ Shouldn’t have been killed for such a stupid reason, also they did Mondo dirty with that motive for killing as well. Just a mess. As for the actual character, Chihiro cries right off the bat when you do your introductions and that was kind of annoying to me personally.
Mondo Oowada
♡ He has a lot of respect, understanding and emotions for someone I thought would be a hard-ass douche biker.
✘ The worst motive to kill ever in a game where you know you’re getting executed if you’re found out. Like you’d be extra careful and that’s his reason to kill? Lazy writing.
Celestia Ludenberg
♡ Bad bitch energy and her goth lolita design.
✘ Manipulation and double murder. Bad bitch energy only goes so far. Confidence is different then selfishness. Also, of all the chapter 3 triple murders... the worst motive to kill.
Kiyotaka Ishimaru
♡ Emotions: secure in his masculinity, able to cry, show emotions, and apologize when he’s wrong. He’s funny and likable.
✘ The Ishimondo white hair thing was stupid. Taka was fine on his own.
Hifumi Yamada
♡ Writing takes talent, fan fiction as much as any other style or genre. Also the talent of his voice actor (who also voices Kiibo/K1-B0).
✘ Literally everything else about him.
Sakura Oogami
♡ I love everything about her. I love her wisdom, loyalty, design, voice etc. Just step on me, mother.
✘ Why the hell would she ever agree to be a spy even if it meant the end of her dojo? I just don’t think she would do that rationally because she isn’t selfish. The others would suffer for her spying. She remedies this with redemption in her letter in chapter 4 but still she should’ve said no off the bat. Everyone had something to lose. The dojo wasn’t worth spying for monokuma. Also I just don’t think she would commit suicide. She can’t help the remaining students survive and redeem herself truly if she’s dead.
Kyoko Kirigiri
♡ Bad bitch energy, calm and collected when I could never be.
✘ Especially in future arc of the anime, damn can you show some emotion please? Through your words and expressions not just your actions. Sure she was willing to “die” for Makoto but like I just want more emotion from her sometimes, even in THH.
Makoto Naegi
♡ So pure. I Love Bryce Papenbrook. Makoto reminds me of Sora and I love his design.
✘ In THH I didn’t mind his innocence but in the Danganronpa 3 future arc anime, when people started straight up abusing him and accusing him, he needed to grow a little backbone.
Byakuya Togami
♡ Love my dad, king shit, also love how over the progression of the games and animes he becomes a little more kind to his friends.
✘ Why the fuck did he mess with Chihiro’s body? Just so cruel and disrespectful.
Yasuhiro Hagakure
♡ Funny magic man. Sexy voice.
✘ Please. Please Hiro use your brain just once. Why do we have to prove Kyoko isn’t a ghost?!
Toko Fukawa
♡ Character development in UDG and I love Genocider.
✘ Putting down herself and others constantly gets old in THH.
Aoi Asahina
♡ Love her voice actress and her personality
✘ We really just gonna get everyone killed in chapter 4 huh? Surely you know they don’t all deserve that.
Junko Enoshima
♡ A very memorable villain with great hair and design.
✘ I just can’t stand her. I hate her so much.
Mukuro Ikusaba
♡ Her mercenary background is super cool as a concept.
✘ Too bad it wasn’t explored nearly enough.
Hajime Hinata
♡ Seeing the protagonist be a little less naive, innocent and positive than Makoto was a refreshing change, although I loved Makoto. I liked Hajime’s cynicism and expressions that sometimes just screamed “this shit again, huh?”
✘ I enjoy the way Izuru looks but I hate him as a character. He is sexy to look at but Hajime is just a better character overall
Teruteru Hanamura
♡ His love for his family and mother especially is so cute and heart breaking if you know the full story.
✘ He needs to know when to dial it back and quit with the perversions. And no it’s not just how he looks, Miu needs to chill at times, too.
Twogami
♡ I feel like he genuinely cares about his friends, just hides it well
✘ His death felt like a cop out and poorly written. It just didn’t sit right with me. Also his design is disgusting to me, his outfit and such.
Mahiru Koizumi
♡ Loyal to her close friends.
✘ I just have no interest in her as a character and I find her boring.
Peko Pekoyama
♡ Loyalty. Loyalty is something I value very highly in every form of relationship. Peko is also very hot.
✘ Come on girl... I know how you were raised but you should’ve known Fuyuhiko didn’t think of you as just a tool and you two should’ve expressed your true feelings long ago. Like even in secret. How do you live like this? Also I feel like killing Mahiru could’ve been avoided with a calm talk.
Ibuki Mioda
♡ Cute design, positive vibes.
✘ Cringe sometimes in the way she talks.
Hiyoko Saionji
♡ Beautiful character design and some very good insults and snarky remarks at times.
✘ Just irredeemably mean and annoying. Even when you do her free time events she is just so annoying.
Mikan Tsumiki
♡ I like her design as well as her hair, expressions, sprites and clothing.
✘ I hate her. I just hate her whether she’s in her true psycho form or timid stuttering form. She’s just annoying in my opinion.
Nekomaru Nidai
♡ So supportive, can hold my drink at a party. Respects everyone and wants the best for them.
✘ Bro Mechamaru was a stupid plot point. I just couldn’t stand looking at him and couldn’t take it seriously. Still sad when he died though.
Chiaki Nanami
♡ From chapter 5 of sdr2 on she is impossible not to love if you didn’t already. Just the selflessness, the sadness of the reveal and execution, how she returns to help Hajime at the end???? I love her. I love her hair design, color palette, her personality, everything.
✘ I’m bitter and miserable about her being the only class member to actually die (the despair arc anime) also her falling asleep at random times is kind of odd and she doesn’t seem to be like that later on in the game??? Like it seemed like a cheap joke but not actually who she is? Hard for me to explain.
Gundham Tanaka
♡ King shit, couldn’t praise him enough. He’s sexy, loves animals, and is funny as hell sometimes. His voice actor is a saint and a cool dude and I named my guinea pigs after the Dark Devas (yes I know they are hamsters in the games.)
✘ Come on dude. I get that being from Hell and magic and having evil powers is your shtick, but we all know that you and Nekomaru sacrificed yourselves so the others wouldn’t starve. We know you care about your classmates. There comes a time when it’s time to let personas and facades fade and be true to your heart. I just feel like him denying he cared at the end hurt. We all know he cared. I didn’t like how he was haughty until the end. He deserved better. I love him.
Nagito Komaeda
♡ I love him so much. So cunning and intelligent, always a step ahead. And he’s big sexy.
✘ Him killing himself in chapter 5 hurt me so bad I was like in denial for days. Also hate how Bryce Papenbrook gives him a raspy stoner psycho voice in the game then a light airy higher-pitched voice in the despair arc anime. It just bothers me. I love his voice still but the inconsistency just hurts my OCD
Sonia Nevermind
♡ I love that she’s so interested in her passions and love her feelings for Gundham
✘ Her outfit and bow are atrocious. Also why didn’t she start liking and talking to Gundham sooner on? Their romance bloomed late and it would’ve made for a better chapter 4 ending if they were a bit closer.
Kazuichi Souda
♡ Cool design and outfit, love his voice (also voices Kaito in V3) and his backstory is relatable at times. He’s also very human in that he’s scared a lot of the time or insecure or blames others in panicked situations. It’s not always a good thing but it’s human and realistic.
✘ Gosh he can be so annoying. Sometimes flirting or whining too much is well... too much.
Akane Owari
♡ Strong-willed and definitely someone I would be friends with
✘ What the hell is her outfit? Gymnasts and athletes don’t wear that shit. Stop objectifying her when it doesn’t even make the product or plot better. Like there’s absolutely no point to making her dress that way. I was a gymnast for 15 years. Even those who do parkour (which Akane seems to do more often than actual gymnastics in the anime and game) don’t wear what she wears. Also she’s underrated.
Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu
♡ I love him. He’s the DR character I’m most like out of all the games and anime. Tenko is a close second. I think he’s adorable, love his character arc, development, redemption, and love his voice.
✘ In the anime/despair arc, Fuyuhiko is not done justice. He doesn’t get enough lines, has a different voice actor, just doesn’t give off the same vibes.
Izuru Kamakura
♡ Sexy man long hair good.
✘ Boring character. I wish he were just Hajime.
Kaede Akamatsu
♡ Loyalty and leadership are such attractive qualities in her. Also she faced her death with such class and dignity and I respect her because I could never.
✘ Some of the voice lines Erika does for her are just weird and cringe. Just random moans or grunts... I don’t know it’s like when Ann Takamaki from Persona 5 (also voiced by Erika) makes suggestive noises as well. Just grinds my gears. Also hate her outfit down to the hair pins.
Shuichi Saihara
♡ I love his nasally voice. I love his design and he’s so adorable. I love how emotional and compassionate he can be. He ties with Makoto for favorite protag of mine.
✘ That sprite where he sniffs his hand. And his ugly ass hat.
Rantarou Amami
♡ Sexy man, sexy voice, sexy piercings
✘ Ugly outfit, and wasted potential
Ryoma Hoshi
♡ I respect him and feel bad for his outlook on life and for how poorly he views himself. I love his little hat as well and he’s the first “different styled” character (Hifumi, Bandai, Teruteru) that I liked the design of.
✘ I hate when he says “got a long ways to go,” it’s overused and annoying, and wish he gave himself more credit. Also hate that when you first meet him he warns you that he’s killed people and is dangerous to be around. Come on buddy, you know you wouldn’t hurt your friends. Stop pushing them away.
Kirumi Tojo
♡ Competence, well rounded, skillful
✘ Boring as hell. I wouldn’t waste one free time event on her.
Angie Yonaga
♡ Dark skin, super cute, love her talent as an artist myself.
✘ Gives religious people a bad name and is super manipulative which I hate.
Tenko Chabashira
♡ I relate to her and feel bad when she’s misunderstood. She’s a good person deep down. Also love her sprites.
✘ There’s more cunning, funny and clever ways to write her digs at men.
Korekiyo Shunguuji
♡ I’m in love with this man. Long hair, voice, mystery, mask, intelligence, passion, talent.
✘ He definitely was a victim of abuse and a lot of people refuse to see that and just hate him. Team Danganronpa should’ve given him a redemption arc where he realized his sister abused him and changed.
Gonta Gokuhara
♡ I love his design except for his suit. Also he’s so cute and naive. I cried for his trail.
✘ No need talk like caveman. Better way to do this.
Kokichi Ouma
♡ Like Nagito, I value his intelligence and crazy cunning.
✘ Shouldn't have died. Also shouldn’t have manipulated Gonta. That was just cruel.
Miu Iruma
♡ She has her hilarious moments and her death surprised me and was sad.
✘ Sometimes she lacks basic empathy, i.e. calling Tenko “Tencrotch” when she just fucking died.
Maki Harukawa
♡ Amazing character development. Didn’t see her surviving until the end at the start. Also her love and passion for Kaito.
✘ “Do you wanna die?” gets old.
Kaito Momota
♡ Just the overall best bro you could ever have.
✘ Has some toxic masculinity issues and anger issues.
K1-B0
♡ Pretty much everything about him. His design, his attitude and personality, especially how amazing and cool he is chapter 5 onward, his execution made me so sad. He’s so innocent and funny without trying.
✘ When you do his free time events he’s very arrogant and just talks about himself a lot... it seems odd and not similar to the Kiibo we see throughout the game.
Himiko Yumeno
♡ Super cute design, love her voice and “Nyeh...” and her sprites. Her character development is great as well.
✘ Why did they take so long to make her important and likable?
Tsumugi Shirogane
♡ An excellent and well hidden reveal
✘ I hate her. So annoying, from the voice to the references and her personality.

A Few Words
Tumblr media
Warnings: NSFW
Word Count: 2.3K
A/N: Tenko is a pretty boy and I love him (Happy birthday!! Eat some sweets and read some manga!! Love you!!) ((for obvs reasons they are both adults in this and i felt the need to clarify since most of my Tenko pieces have been written in highschool setting so his personality is different since he isn’t dating anyone,,, i'm rambling,,, happy birthday!!)
It’s four simple words. A confession where he looks down at the floor, his hands fisted, the soft, cotton black fabric of his half gloves are crinkled and expose just a bit of skin. His eyes are narrowed and there’s a certain look in them, they’re cold but it isn’t his usual cold stare, it’s as if he’s forcing them to be cold. His lip trembles, a slight twitch that you would have missed if you weren’t so focused on him. His chest is still and he refuses to look at you, to even breath and make himself more known in your home.
“I really like you,” Tenko repeats and this time his words are slower, quieter as if the volume of his words would take away their meaning. You’re silent and he glances at you, his hair obscuring a bit of his features, and in your peripheral, his hand twitches. “Can you say something?” He sucks in a shaky breath, and his words are forced, rushed out in the remaining breath that he has.
You can only stare at him. You hadn’t expected a confession today. You hadn’t expected a confession ever. But as you think more about the relationship you have with him, it’s becoming more and more apparent that you should have expected this. You both are close, increasingly so, and from what you’ve been told by mutual friends, he can only tolerate so many people, he seldom goes out of his way to get something for someone. But do you like Tenko? If you’re being honest- which is what he deserves- you do think he is cute. Bright, red eyes, dark hair that seems to capture all light, and scars that litter his face, enough for you to worry but more than enough to add to his beauty, to curve around his face, etch around him and you find him lovely.
“Yeah,” you whisper lightly, your eyes darting to his lips and you’re careful to move your hands. “I like you too,” you confirm. Your eyelids lower, a soft flutter as your hands raise, coming to cusp his face, your fingertips tapping against his cheekbones, a light drum on him. You lean forwards, your eyes trained on how his lips part, the soft peek of his tongue that wets the middle of his lips. You dart your eyes upwards and they meet with his. His face is flushed, red dusting over and filling his cheeks. You start off slow, your breath against his lips. “Can I-”
“Yes,” comes his eager reply, quick and you only have a second to smile before he presses his lips against yours.
It’s a slow kiss, uncertain and a bit tense. Chapped lips against strawberry flavored ones, peeling skin that scratches you, soft bits where’s bitten through are soft and tender, making him let out a high-pitched moan when you brush over them. He’s eager, his hands carefully coming to hold the side of your waist, hands fisting over the soft fabric of your shirt. You smile against him, tilting your head and your hands curve around his neck, pulling him closer to you, the kiss deepening and relaxing, a soft mesh of lips and a trickle of drool that pools in both of your mouths.
You move against him, legs spreading and your knee is pressed against him. The kiss grows breathless, rushed breathing that fans out of noses, your hands careful to not scratch against him, while his hands, touch at the soft fat on the sides of your body, a course thumb that brushes over in an arc and makes mumps rise on your skin, his nails dragging over in a soft, faint mark and you’re desperate to breathe but even more desperate to keep the kiss going, to not let this moment slip past you.
It starts with a slight nudge of your knee, a simple jerk from the growing lack of breath. It’s nothing more than a slight tease but then he jumps, he presses his groin against your body, a press where his desperation starts to leak. He’s moving against the friction that you had started and that he continued. You can feel the soft grind against you, a rutting motion where his whines are muffled against your lips and when he pulls away, gasping for breath, he lowers his head on your shoulder, rutting himself against you and your hand slowly curves over to the back of his head, holding him close to you, moving your knee against him. He whines, your name a stutter against his lips. Your lids droop, a soft sigh escaping past your lips, pressing your knee further into him until he coos out, a slight tremor coursing through his body as the dry humping of both your bodies slow back into your careful nudging, your breaths heavy and lowered, slowing until you’re hushing him, combing your fingers through his hair.
And then he pulls away and his eyes go wide. He’s staring at you, his mouth agape and then he looks down at his pants where a noticeable tent emerges, a small, dark spot against him and there’s a bit of pride in you. “I- I’m sorry.” His words are hesitant and then reality sets in. “I didn’t mean to. I- Fuck. I’m sorry!” His words are rushed and he grows slightly teary-eyed, a dew forming in the corner of his eyes.
There’s a slight high on your end, knowing that you had caused him pleasure with simple movements and heard him whine your name, it fills you with a deep warmth, something that pools in your lower belly, and makes you realize that you’ve grown slick, a slip where you’ve grown shocked at the amount, a whimper as you rub your thighs together, trying to gain the friction that Tenko once had. You look up at him, covering your palm over the bulge that has grown in his pants. You smile when he whimpers, his leg jerking and his face grows flushed, a tight pull of his lips where he looks at you with an almost ashamed face.
“What,” he starts, a whine under his breath, and he almost looks helpless under your touch, “what are you doing?”
“Am I allowed to do this?” You ask, tightening your hand around him, your tongue peeking out between your lips. “Tell me to stop, if you want me to.” Your body heat rises, you want to continue to kiss him, to pull him close to you and make the ache between your legs lessen but you cannot- not until you hear his voice, not until he pulls you close and wishes for the same thing.
He nods slowly, a soft perk of his head. “Yes-” he licks his lips and leans close to you- “please.” His lips are on you once more and he pulls you into him.
It’s a soft pull onto the bed, pulling you close to him, the soft feel of the mattress below your body, the quick wrinkling of the comforter, moving underneath you and lumping together under your spine and he’s on top of you, pressing feverish kisses against your lips, his hands quick to slip under your shirt and grab at a breast, the fabric of your bra a nuisance as it  prevents his palm from touching you. You’re quick to squirm, reaching behind your body, and he  follows after you, his fingers dancing above yours quick to remove the fabric, peeling it off your shoulders and you’re hesitant to remove your shirt, pausing only until he kisses at your jawline, and then the shirt comes off. You have a few moments of timidness, clawing your hands at the comforter under you, resisting the urge to over your exposed breasts. Your nipples pebble under the cold air of the room, chest heaving as he watches you.
“Tenko?” You call, looking at him through bashful eyes. “Can you touch me?”
He’s quick to nod, lowering his head into your chest. A hand covers one breast, palm rubbing against the pert nipple, fingertips pressing into the soft skin of your chest. The other breast is covered by his mouth, a wet embrace where his tongue peeks, a soft flick of the tip of his tongue, swirling over and under, pulling in the pebbled bud until he’s breathing harshly, cheeks hollowed as he pulls you close and you stifle your moans. Covering your mouth with a hand, the other arcing on the top of his head, lightly scratching at his scalp and he’s over eager, pressing himself close to you, moaning around you, pulling his head back to flick his tongue over your nipple, pressing a flurry of kisses against your chest until he latches onto the other nipple, almost hungry to suck on you, moaning against you, encouraged when you moan his name, a soft “Tenko” where you pull him closer to you, encouraging him to suck on your tits, raising your hips and meeting the bulge once more and he’s quick to return the touch.
It’s a quick mess of clothes, skin that brushes alongside each others and makes you feel as if you’re going to catch on fire, that the skin that holds you together is spiraling, gaining heat when you brush against each other, your heat throbbing, pulsing as you ache to grow closer to him, gasping and holding his face in your hands when you feel him brush against your thigh. Slick pools out of him, He touches you, his hands wandering on your body, touching at your curves and returning his lips to your body, kissing at the soft curve of your neck, leaving wet splotches on your body. He’s eager to continue, to press himself against you, his fingers dancing down your body, over the swell of your breasts and the soft pouch of your belly, smiling against your skin until his fingers tease along your pubic mound, fingers gentle as they dance until they reach your slit, fingers rubbing at the slit and you’re grasping at his biceps, mouth opening in a silent whine as he figures out what to do, his fingers edging towards your slit, fingertips slick and the cotton of his gloves growing wet as you call his name.
He’s slow, watching your reaction, deft fingers moving inside of you, making you tighten around him. “Fuck, Ten,” you murmur, “that’s it.” Your hand pets the back of his head and he coos, slipping his fingers out of you and rubbing them along your already twitching clit. “That’s a good boy,” you sigh, your hands loosening around him, one falling and trailing down his abdomen. “Such a good boy,” you praise, wrapping your hand around his shaft, an immediate whine leaving his lips. You click your tongue. “So hard already-” you rub your thumb over his slit, spreading the pre-ejacaculate over him, feeling the soft curve of his cock, the warmth that it emits- “oh, I bet you’re just aching to put it inside, aren’t you?” Your lips brush against his. “Do you want to fuck me? Hm? You just confessed to me and now here we are, humping each other, your fingers in my tight cunt, and my hand around your cock-” he moans at your words, his fingers stilling around the pearl between your legs- “say it, Tenko.”
“Please,” he says in a low voice, “let me- I wanna fuck you-” he licks his lips and when he looks at you, his eyes are hazy, clouded with lust as he captures you in another kiss, tongue slipping when you allow him to and it’s enough for him to take himself from you and enter you.
It stings, a slight pinch against you, a pleasurable warmth around him, him lowering his head and sighing against your shoulder, his head lowered and he’s vulnerable, pressing himself against you, whimpering your name, apologizing for hurting you when you hiss through closed teeth and he’s shaking, a tremor shaking him to the core and he’s so painfully and adorably cute, humping himself without rhythm. Once more, you gain pleasure from the mere fact that he’s growing so needy against you, warmth flooding against your core, dripping onto him, feeling his own slick slip into you and you cradle the back of his head, humping against him, slipping a hand to rub at your clit, releasing his name in a puff of air.
“Oh you’re so good, Tenko,” you whisper affectionately, swirling your hips under him. “Such a pretty boy.” Your hand runs down his hair, resting along his back, twirling an end of his hair around your finger. “You’re so pretty,” you murmur, kissing the top of his head. “Who's my good boy?” His rutting becomes heavier, deeper into you, the heat in your stomach slowly expands, burning against you, filling you with a deep want, desperate to keep him inside of you, stretched and full, his moans nothing but unintelligible as his tongue lolls out and lets his saliva coat your shoulder. It’s a quick fuck, mindless pounding where he’s nothing more than needy, cooing against you, kissing and licking your body, desperate to fill you with his seed, murmuring soft praises when he can. “So pretty.” You pick up his head and he looks at you through half-lidded eyes, blinking slowly when you kiss under his eyes, scars leaving a smooth touch under your lips. “A pretty boy,” you murmur.
He’s hot. Much hotter than you expected, thick and copious amounts where he fills you, where you can swear that your belly swells under him. He doesn’t stop. He continues to rut against you, fucking you until he’s sighing and cooing, stilling and feeling you tremble, his name a deep scream as you come undone under him. It’s sticky and wet, you can feel the thickness of the arousal slip and coat you, warm and cooling as they slide down your vulva, slipping and leaving a thick trail.
He lays beside you breathless and whimpering, his hand slowly wrapping around yours, little snivels coming from him. “So, we’re uh, dating now?” He asks in an uncertain voice and you laugh breathlessly, feeling his eyes on you as you nod, tightening your hand around his.

Warning: spoilers of Shigaraki's backstory
I kinda need to share this with someone: samurais had multiple names, and one of the highest honors you could be granted as a samurai, was that your master* gave you a kanji of his name. And i relate that to Tomura and All for One, while he gave Tenko his name, (like a father) he did it for selfish reasons, just like he would have done with a warrior at his service.
So i think in a very beautiful AU with a healthy Tomura, who learns to recognize and heal all the abuse he went through, and eventually has a family with you, he wouldn't give a last name to his children, he would rather use your last name for them, both Shimura and Shigaraki have bad stories. But he would keep his name, he doesn't want to erase his past, just that he doesn't want his children (his future) to be named after his abusers (his past), they are indepent and will never have to go through something like his father.
Sorry, i got too carried away :(
That's a real sweet thought! Honestly, I think about his name a lot in general because I've always wondered what he'll do after the whole 'save the villains' arc ends. Obviously he's going to be at odds with AFO and, I agree with you, would have bad associations with the Shigaraki name. And I know some people like the idea of him going back to being Tenko, but I have a hard time imagining that. You're right that he doesn't have positive associations with the Shimura family either, so I think he'd be indifferent to his old name at best, and have just as many reservations about it at worst.
But what you're saying here makes sense, him keeping his name to not erase his past. I think that seems very on-brand for him :)
