The Lizzie McGuire vinyl POP! figure is coming out Aug. 23, 2023. She's 4 1/4 inches tall, and comes with her two inch cartoon sidekick "Buddy" as seen on the show. Suggested retail price is $11.99.
Now we just need the entire cast of Andi Mack as POP! figures. Wishful thinking.

There has been a disappointing amount of homophobia this Pride month so I wanted to celebrate with the couple that made me want to curl up in a ball because I was so happy to be represented by Disney Channel of all places
Forever thank you Joshua Rush, Luke Mullen and of course Terri Minski ❤️🌈

I've probably already said this but Andi Mack could have 100% played off the Cyrus sweating his ass off while filming for laughs only but instead they were like actually that is ALSO considered a panic attack but in a different form and I think that's beautiful

The erasure of Andi Mack makes me so sad as someone who watched it as it was airing. I understand the show had issues regarding a Certain Actor, but it still makes me really sad for the people who worked on it. And because the show is such a gem. I want to write about Andi Mack in general one day, but because it's pride month I want to briefly talk about the show through that lens specifically.
Firstly, Andi Mack has so many episodes missing on Disney+ AND DisneyNow that it would be impossible to try to watch the series in full by using any of these apps. Until recently, DisneyNow had completely removed Andi Mack from its app, and put it back on with only an incomplete season three and without any of the games that were there originally (like Andi's Texts). This, I'm assuming, has to do with that Certain Actor, but the missing episodes has also made including Cyrus in any pride posts or collections harder than it should be (more on that in a second).
On Disney+, there is a "Pride Collection" which does not include anything Andi Mack related despite Cyrus being the first openly gay main character on Disney Channel. His coming out scenes (plural because of the individual scenes with Buffy, Andi and then Jonah) were extremely prominent not only to real people, but also to Cyrus' character as a whole. Two out of the three episodes where Cyrus comes out - "Hey, Who Wants Pizza?" (season 2, episode 1) | "Cyrus' Bash-Mitzvah!" (season 2, episode 13) | "One in a Minyan" (season 3, episode 11) - are not even available on Disney+, nor are any of them on DisneyNow (sidebar, Andi Mack isn't featured on DisneyNow 's pride section either). What's even more frustrating is that the series finale, "We Were Here", where Cyrus and TJ are confirmed to have mutual feelings for each other, are available on both Disney+ AND DisneyNow, yet it does not feature on either app's pride sections. Cyrus being gay wasn't just implied, he literally says the words "I'm gay" the third time he comes out and the second time he clearly says he has a crush on Jonah. It's not easy to overlook him as gay, and as a character who should be included in those pride collections, so his omission is clearly deliberate.
Even if the coming out episodes weren't featured, at the very least, any episode with Cyrus and TJ after they became friends should count; episodes like "For the Last Time", "The Cake That Takes the Cake", "Mount Rushmore or Less", "Something to Talk A-Boot" and of course the series finale. Surprising no one, only three of the Tyrus episodes I listed (and there are more) are actually on Disney+. I mean, they included a Miraculous episode in the Disney+ "Pride Episodes" collection that had the most minute blink-and-you'll-miss-it scene of Alec in a wig, so why not include any episode at all with TJ and Cyrus? Idk the whole thing is just very frustrating for so many reasons.
Edit: if anyone is interested in putting together a fan collection of art, stories etc etc of Andi Mack or letters detailing what the show meant to you that we could somehow share with Terri Minsky to let her know how much we appreciate her and Andi Mack, please dm me. There has to be some way we can show her that we haven’t forgotten about the show or her. I can always make another post if there’s enough interest to spread the word

Last Twilight: The Gay Angst of Low Expectations
Others are going to say much better things about the romantic stuff going on in Last Twilight this week, but I want to focus on how Day seems himself relative to August. The biggest thing that stood out to me this episode is that Day sees himself in a way that reads unworthy of August.
When we saw their flashback to their time as teammates, August is annoyed with Day a lot, and Day is always apologizing for any of their failures. He then spends an entire night exhausting himself to practice more. August recognizes Day's determination and begins to treat him seriously. They begin to win. When they stumble into each other, August is understandably hurt that Day didn't tell him directly what was going on. I enjoyed the Bond Between Men that they had formed as teammates and how earnestly August insisted that he wouldn't partner with anyone else but Day. It was also clear to me by all the hand holding that August feels something for Day.
However, when August doesn't show up for their dinner, Day was willing to wait more than seven hours for August to show up. He said that August is always like this, and blames himself for thinking August would actually want to see him. He describes their partnership as an arranged marriage to win championships, one where he struggles to befriend August and regularly works to appease August's temper for them to win championships. He admits he actually did like August, but regrets not saying anything when he could still see his face.
Then, August walks up and sees Mhok about to confess something to Day, noticing the flower and running his eyes over Mhok repeatedly. He hears Day's comment about liking August, shakes his head no, and walks away.
What stands out for me here is that August knew Day would be waiting for him. What he wasn't counting on what Mhok being there and clearly being some sort of rival. It was clear to me in the locker room scene that August also feels something for Day as well. I am going to be thinking about the fact that these two were unable to tell each other how they felt all this time. I'm thinking about how August probably felt hurt that Day didn't believe in him enough to tell him directly. I think about how Day always prioritized August over himself, and didn't feel like he could stand up to August.
It brings me back to the dynamic between Andi and Jonah in Andi Mack, my favorite Disney original tv show. For the other millennials out there who watched Disney Channel growing up, Andi Mack is a show by Terri Minsky (creator of Lizzie Maguire) with similar themes as her original show. Andi, who is like Lizzie, has a thing for Jonah Beck, who is like Ethan Craft. She has been hanging around him all season and joined the Frisbee club for him. In episode 9, Andi and the girls at school stage a protest about the school's dress code for picture day by wearing prison outfits. Jonah doesn't know what's going on and insists that Andi wear the team shirt for the picture. Andi, frustrated, demands Jonah tell her what her protest is about and then she'll wear the shirt. Jonah doesn't know, and Andi is hurt by this, but steels herself for the girl issues they're trying to solve.
Later, we get this apology scene.
youtube
Please watch this in full. This is one of my favorite romantic/platonic breakups in history. I love that Andi recognizes the power she gave Jonah over her. Jonah never asked for this power, but Andi still let him use it. This scene is important because she firmly takes that power back.
What I want more than anything from Day and August is for Day to take the power he gave August back from him. August may have a huge personality and a temper, but they can't be good to each other if Day is always going to be afraid of him.
So, while I am frustrated with August for standing Day up for hours without explanation, I am going to glare at him for knowing Day would still be there waiting. I want to see them unpack this expectation that Day will always WAIT for August. If August likes Day and also knows this, it's something the both of them need to face.
I'm all about the gay angst of knowing you like him but not being sure if he likes you. I'm here for the gay angst of being unsure about changing the relationship in your Warrior's Bond forged in the fires of competition. I'm all for the gay angst of thinking you'd lost him and wanting to take the chance that presented itself again. However, I don't want Day to always put himself second behind August, especially because August, like Jonah, never asked Day to do that for him.

The Minsky Arm by Marvin Minsky and Seymour Papert (1970), MIT AI Laboratory, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA. In the late 1960s, Minsky and Papert proposed that AI research should focus on simplified situations known as micro-worlds. Much of this research focused on a so-called "blocks world," with stackable coloured blocks of various shapes and sizes. Terry Winograd's SHRDLU could communicate in ordinary English, plan operations and execute them in a virtual micro-world. However, Minsky and Papert built a robot arm with a camera, to stack real blocks, bringing the blocks world to life.

I was rewatching Andi Mack and realised that Sofia Wylie's character's mom's name in hsmtmts is Terri and the creator of Andi-Mack's name is Terri Minsky. Coincidence? I think not

I want to know the emails Terri Minsky got over the years of Andi Mack the same way Alex Hirsch released the one he got for Gravity Falls
I mean one of the main themes of ep one already was teen pregnancy and Andi finding out who she thought was her sister was actually her mother and the more mature themes stayed for the majority of the show

Hilary Duff Is “Optimistic” That The ‘Lizzie McGuire’ Reboot Could Still Happen
One of the exhibits that Disney+ deliberate on reviving from the Disney Channel was Lizzie McGuire and Hilary Duff had signed up to star in it. The streamer had followers excited to see what Lizzie and her animated alter ego have been as much as in spite of everything these years. However, issues took a steep flip when the creator of the collection Terri Minsky exited the reboot. Later that yr,…

Every time I remember that Terri Minskey made TJ have dyscalculia I get so emotional. I watched that show as a college student and still cried when he said that he was struggling with it because it was the first time I had ever seen it represented in a kids show. I had seen dyslexia shown in shows before, but never this specific version dyslexia. I was treated like I just wasn’t trying in school, when really I couldn’t tell some of the numbers apart or I switched them around. I really wish I could have seen that as a child. I remember always thinking my brain was just broken and that I was stupid. I wasn’t diagnosed with it until senior year of high school, so I never got to get the help I needed. If I had a show like Andi Mack as a child I would have felt so much more normal and maybe I would have known what was wrong so I could have gotten help. This is why representation fucking matters.

In andi mack ummm who was the picture bex ripped up and put in a box……??? Cause like- it wasn’t Bowie we saw the picture of them-
Did I miss something???? Who was it ??????
It’s implied later on to be her ex, Gabriel, whom she describes as being the reason she thinks she can’t marry anyone. We don’t know exactly what Gabriel did. A lot of fans got the impression that he might have been abusive from how Bex talked about him, but that seems to not be the case according to one fan in contact with the creator, Terri Minsky. I believe there was supposed to be an episode wrapping up that storyline which ended up getting cut.
