Bluebonnets

They scatter in packs in the fields

Oh how much joy you could yield

The sun reflects on their petals so beautifully

Where I live in Texas, sometimes about half an hour before sunset, there are these really beautiful skies that have this colour gradient of blue-purple-white-pink-blue that I've never seen anywhere else. I have been trying to capture them in photos but I could never get it to look the way it does in the actual sky.

So here they are slightly "shopped" to look the way they actually look. ("Shopped" in scare quotes because I don't actually own photoshop or know how to use it, so I hacked it with inkscape, which I also don't really know how to use (except to draw figures for math papers), but this is the best approximation of what it looks like I could make.

Below are the raw images before I "shopped" them:

I think in the before pictures you can kind of still see the blue-purple-white-pink-blue gradient if you really squint, maybe.

(Also pretty upset that I just missed the 'T' in the "TEXAS" sign in the second photo, but I was in a moving vehicle (for both photos actually), what can you do).
