I played more Great Ace Attorney Chronicles yesterday and...

Are we sure that Ryunosuke isn't Maya's ancestor instead of Phoenix's? All this man does is exist in the wrong place at the wrong time to get accused of murder.

(If this happens in every case, it's a bit much.)

Can we talk about Kazuma? I mean, really talk about him? What was the point of this whole trip if he doesn't even survive it to fulfill whatever his mission was from Mikotoba and learn from Britain's legal system?? What is the point in killing him off the second case? What the hell, Takumi and Capcom!

(If official art is to be believed he's not really dead, but I need an explanation!)

I knew what the Speckled Band really was because I read that Sherlock short story this year, but the case isn't an exact 1:1 match.

I did like the deduction mechanic with Herlock Sholmes and that might be fun to do in later cases. It reminds me of the statements and rebuttals from Investigations.

Going back to Ryunosuke though... Even if he's found Not Guilty, how on earth is he gonna get home? He's in a foreign country with presumably no money and no official record of him being there. Is he gonna be stuck in Britain? That'll be problematic to say the least.

It's the second case and so much isn't looking good right now.

THANKS this is a hard one but i got it

twisted karma and his last bow/the resolve of ryunosuke naruhodo: theyre tied for the top because they’re two halves of the same kickass fucking case. sickeningly good both on it’s own and as a resolution to the duology as a whole. i cant think about these cases for too long or i get sad. it was his journey all along 🥲🥲🥲 and one day they’ll meet again and they’ll be ready this time 🥲🥲 fuck the government 😊

the memoirs of the clouded kokoro: funniest shit on earth. i smile just thinking about this thing. why was it like that. i desperately want to play it in japanese to see how much of it is the fault of the translation team and how much is the original text. god

turnabout goodbyes: miles edgeworth, nuff said. blows away in the wind

turnabout memories: mia is there and phoenix eats glass. win. seriously i think this case is a lot of fun and super interesting but i cant focus on much other than he ate glass

the cosmic turnabout: is BAD but i likey it anyway. it and for tomorrow (which is basically the same case with some extra steps) had a lot of potential that it slam dunked into a garbage disposal, but it still has a lot of charm left in it that leads me to still hold a lot of affection for it

honorable mentions go to turnabout serenade, unbreakable speckled band, and great departure. i love aa4 and tgaa adventures both SO MUCH but they got beat out by the other games 🫡🫡 rip you fought valiantly

While everyone I know headcanons Ryunosuke as physically weak, I do the opposite. Archery requires some really good upper body strength, after all. Myself and a friend came up with a few headcanons after that, and I'd like to share them with you:

Ryunosuke made a dent in the defense's bench in the Old Bailey with one of his desk slams;

He has intimidated people who wanted to start shit with him, both on purpose and on accident;

He could have broken his shackles in The Adventure of the Unbreakable Speckled Band and even thrown hands with Bif Stroganov, but he didn't really know his strength at the time.

And my favorite one:

Ryunosuke got spooked once and punched the guy lights out

these are really good; I know he’s canonically bad at archery but I like to think he’s actually decent at it/at least better than asougi and it’s the one sports-related thing ryuu holds over him
