just thinking about a dinluke restaurant au where din is like a very classically, highly trained chef whose used to working at michelin star rated restaurants but after a series of events he ends up becoming grogus guardian so he steps down and takes a job instead at this mom n pop style diner where he meets luke who learned everything he knows about cooking from his aunt and is way too lax and happy go lucky for dins tastes while luke on the other hand isn’t too pleased with this big hot-shot coming into his kitchen and they just clash instantly but neither can do a thing about it cause din needs the job and the restaurant is owned by owen and beru so luke knows just how pleased they are to have gotten to hire someone like din and it’s just them fitfully coexisting together to keep the kitchen flowing and trying not to stab each other day while at the same time being absolutely infatuated with the other - like luke cannot get over dins knife handling and eye for plating and din can’t stop himself from dreaming about the different spice blends that luke comes up with for the different meats - and it’s just them falling in love through food and like specifically going out of their way to make things they know will impress the other whenever it’s their turn to cook for the family and din slowly leans to relax and have fun in the kitchen while luke gets to sharpen and learn some of the skills he’s always been wanting to know and aHHHHHHHHHHH CHEFS

I think Bram and Lovecraft should find a (probably haunted) ship that just drifts out in an anomalous and liminal, to put it frankly, odd, bit of sea, forever a drift, surrounded by nothing but fog, no wind, no rain, no waves, no storms, just quiet. I think they should hole up there and sleep for a couple hundred years. yeah. I think that would be nice.

actually loving star trek so much rn. the one true mission to bring civility and respect between creatures. kirk and spock making an effort to understand, to learn, no matter the circumstances. always trying to find a way to connect and come to an agreement, to let people live in peace. kirk showing mercy all the time. spock's first instinct being to understand and study the creatures that they do not understand, not kill, never kill until its absolutely necessary, because its science and nature and life. thats the whole point of the show - everything is part of nature and life. there is no understanding in needless violence. connections can be made, it is always worth it to try and communicate, even if its difficult. peace is logical. i need to sit down.
