I hope that if vampires are real, and I’m ever turned into one, that the garlic thing is a myth. Because I add like a metric ton of garlic to almost everything I eat.
Spoilers for this 125 year old novel and all, but he can just turn into a bat like in the movies. He is making a conscious decision to kick off his shoes and let his toes grasp those projections and inequalities. He did not need to move downwards with considerable speed, just as a lizard moves along a wall.
