i just voted on your 'when did you find techno' poll and realized i voted wrong lmao-- i used to watch him waaay back in the day before mcm but stopped for a while and re found him during smpe
this is all to say that i always forget just how old his channel is lol and that your poll forced me to remember that people found techno through dsmp??? wild.
anyway, hope you are well :]
i think the majority of people at this point found him through the dsmp which is wack to me... he's always just been A Presence to me, i understand if you didn't even watch minecraft content till the server but like. some of you were fans of the other cc's and you'd just. never seen him before the smp??? wild

... you know, because of Tezuka's very round-looking art style, I always imagined Dororo in present time as being 8-9... she's probably closer to 11 or 12, since she talks about her parents' demises as happening sometime between ages 5-10. (She doesn't know exactly.)
.......... Hyakkimaru's only 14-15 over the course of the story (not the reboot, he's 16 there). These two have. Only about a 2-3 year age difference?! Dororo is SHORT... or Hyakkimaru just got very tall, very fast... well, teenage boys do have big growth spurts, but.
I always imagined the age gap was bigger, but I guess that's why they're paired up in so many adaptations when they're older (with some hints while they're younger)--aside from Dororo's jealous anger in the manga when Hyakkimaru talks about a village girl being pretty or something, PFFT.
(Give or take a year or two, given the time period, and the traditional way of calculating ages in Japan [counting the 9 months in the womb, a baby is considered a year old, lunar calendars--the Hijri calendar does this too--also often consider a child older once the new year begins, rather than chronologically when they complete a full year and reach their next birthday...])
"The traditional Japanese system of age reckoning, or kazoedoshi (数え年, lit. "counted years"), which incremented one's age on New Year's Day, was rendered obsolete by law in 1902 when Japan officially adopted the modern age system, known in Japanese as man nenrei (満年齢)."

Y/N: Would you slap Vince—
Tommy: Yes.
Y/N: I didn’t even finish!
Tommy: Sorry, continue.
Y/N: Would you slap Vince for $10?
Tommy: I would do it for free.
Vince, listening from afar: Rude…

When the power goes out so you use candles and the light from your laptop until your dad wakes up and then you get one of his headlamps as a nightlight bc you may be 17 years old but being in the complete dark is overwhelming and you can’t sleep or sit like that even if you wanted to without crying and the power is expected to be out for 4hrs so you use your data to download the dirt so you have some sense of comfort until your tired enough to sleep. Nope couldn’t be me idk what ur talking abt ur crazy 🖐🙄

the manifestation of grief & trauma LITERALLY twisting the knife in at the darkest moment oh yes we LOVE horror that plays with legitimately horrifying concepts
