In the first year of the Thirty-Third Dynasty, when He came to the planet where I was born and made of it a wasteland for glory's sake, my ten-times-great-grandfather's king and lover, Alekso Undying, built on the ruins of the gods who had lived before Him Alectelo, the City of Endless Pearl, the Bride of Szayet, the Star of the Swordbelt Arm, the Ever-Living God's Empty Grave. He caught fever and filled that grave, ten months later.
“But boys will be boys, our favorite phrase that excuses so many things, while the only thing we have for the opposite gender is women, said with disdain and punctuated with an eye roll.”
oh? what’s this? an actual original post from yours truly? yes, indeed indeed it is ;)
ummmmm ok so latest recap: entering second year of undergrad in exactly two weeks which i didn’t actually realize until just now and holy shit that is so soon wtf.
what’ve i been up to lately? uhhh after winter term, i did intro to chem in summer school in may-june, but otherwise have mostly been working (part-time retail) and chilling w friends/my bf and going on adventures together. tbh my one goal for this summer was to actually just relax for once because i can’t remember the last time i had a summer where i got to just do my own thing so i’m pre happy with what i’ve done :)
pic’s from one of my bf and i’s many library dates this summer (making the most of being close enough to do it basically whenever we wanna, before school starts and he moves back to his school) <3
also, i’ve started a bullet journal, so hopefully even if my class notes are pre ugly, i have something else i can post on here!
(fingers crossed anyways lol)
anyhow, here’s to the new school year, may we all get the grades we want 🥂

This issue of Dracula Lives! is so much fun. Several different Dracula stories illustrated by Dick Giordano, Vicente Alcazar, Ernie Chan and co., including a chapter from the Stoker novel, a lengthy look at Hammer’s Taste the Blood of Dracula (which came out in 1970, four years prior to this publication), and a couple columns like the “Coffin Chronicles” talking about upcoming releases like The Satanic Rites of Dracula and books like In Search of Dracula.
Gonna try and track down other issues in this run. Absolutely amazing stuff. Would haven’t hesitated seeing these on the newsstands in 1974.
