I don't know if it's just because I was bracing myself for something far worse, or because David Jenkins has made it clear that the show is the relationship so there's nothing to fear long-term, but I actually left those episodes feeling pretty good about Ed and Stede? No, break ups aren't fun, obviously, but

we got even more confirmation how much they love each other and how their instinct is to protect and look out for one another

we had both of them boosting each other up

Ed shared some of his fears and anxieties and communicated his feelings

Ed is doing something about it

Could that conversation have gone better? Absolutely. But they're 14-year-old boys. They love each other, they have so much in common, but when it comes to piracy, they're in very different stages of their lives.

Ed doesn't want to hold Stede back, but he doesn't want that life anymore. He doesn't want to put himself in that situation, and he doesn't want to get hurt again when (he assumes) Stede chooses a life of piracy over being with him.

Ed has so much trauma to work through. He knows that, but he doesn't know how, he just knows he has to "do something different."

All of these are actually really huge steps. It presents itself as conflict, and it is one. A BIG one. But it's an important one for them to go through if we're going to have Ed and Stede really thrive in their relationship, and be truly content both as a couple and as individuals.

Y'know, I wouldn't mind if they actually start producing visual novels or RPGs as actual Sonic games in-between major Sonic Team releases.

The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog was a pretty solid game, all things considered. For a free April Fools joke it got me laughing through most of it, and I really enjoyed its touching moments, especially during the last act and the whole arc around the Conductor.

I can see them striking some gold handling projects like this with bigger dev teams and actual budgets. The fact they can use smaller games to tell short stories in Sonic's world and make it feel so alive and connected is something I've been craving for a while, and it doesn't even have to be a platformer! Ever since I discovered fangames like Sonic and the Mayhem Master years ago, I wondered if SEGA could take another shot at the RPG genre, or something more story-focused.

And sure, this time it was a visual novel, but it landed pretty close to what I had in mind. This whole experience was well worth my time, and some real cash too if they asked for it. I hope this charming little joke game can open more possibilities for the future of Sonic games.

There is something uniquely kind and disturbing that Benny and the Khans ambushed the Courier and brought them to a cemetery to be killed.

It's an unmarked shallow grave. They would've died with no name and no one to come to look for them, not a thought in anyone's head expect and afterthought for their killer. But in that, they are still laid to rest. No one they know will visit them but their grave will be visited, maintained at least by the townspeople of Goodsprings. Unresolved but not forgotten.

Benny did not choose the cemetery out of kindness, it was pragmatic as people are likely to not mess with a grave in a town like Goodsprings, fresh or not.

After all... It's rude to disturb the dead, though, what does that mean if they were never truly made to rest?

CALLING ALL PPL WHO STRUGGLE TO KEEP A CALENDAR!

I used to keep a bullet journal years ago but I completely fell off it once COVID began. Since then, I have had no calendar to keep my life together.

As someone with ADHD, a calendar would help me stay sane, but every time I tried to get back into it, no matter what I tried, it never stuck. Therefore, my life was a mess.

But while reading a Webtoon (called "30 Minutes With You" if you're interested, it's really wholesome) the main character does daily doodles in her pocket calendar, and then it clicked.

I've been doing daily little doodles in my pocket calendar and I've generally kept up for two months now! Overall, it's been really fun AND has kept me more put together!

Here is an example:

You can get a pocket calendar from Dollar Tree for $1.25 (if you're in the US and Canada)! I use blank office labels cut into the right size as the white squares I draw on just because it looks better.

This has also really helped my memory, because once stuff happens my brain forgets it immediately. It really makes me feel like my life is fuller and it's been easier to look back and see how far I've come!

the thing about that labru "how does he fuck" post is that laios isn't under any circumstances gonna fuck some random elf bitch. what's INFINITELY more likely is him getting caught in some looney tunes situation where an elf assassin keeps trying to feed him poison but he's already immune to all of it through a comedic mix of either having eaten it already and knowing a better way to prepare it (like that one story about the monk and the poison mushrooms) or residual effects of becoming the dungeon lord. laios just thinks they're really nice, eventually winning them over with his sheer blithe tenacity, at which point they proposition him for sex and he decides right then and there that they're trying to kill him. frustrated, they validate his fears by finally whipping out a dagger, at which point he snaps them like a toothpick (sustaining a few minor injuries because he's not as good at fighting humans he just doesn't fuck around). kabru is watching it all closely though that part is still true.
