Luke 15:7, "There is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who were righteous and haven't strayed away!"
i was thinking about this verse recently and wondering.. how different it would be if people could see just how important they are to God. so important in fact that the Creator of the universe, an everlasting Being, came down Himself to experience death to set us free from Death. if you were the only human needing redemption, He would have gone through it all just for you.
it's up to you to accept or reject this payment on your behalf. there's no way to pay it yourself, you can never be "good enough" to make it to Heaven. He took on your punishment for you and only His sacrifice absolves you from it. if you reject Him, He will honor that decision, and you'll spend eternity separated from Him and all joy, light, and happiness. not because He's cruel, but because all good things stem from the Lord. there is no life without Jesus Christ.
the experience of the man in this comic is actually based on many testimonies i've listened to. people cried out to Jesus, and either saw or felt His love and were changed. don't wait! you have the entirety of Heaven cheering you on, longing for you to join our family. the hole in your heart can only be filled by the Holy Spirit's Presence. don't reject your opportunity to experience God's wonders forever, in a reality far greater than Earth could ever hope to be.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, so that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)

Many have seen the picture (included for context) of boygenius dressed as the Trinity, with Julien – dressed as Jesus Christ – revealing she is wearing underwear emblazoned with “GOD’S EYES ONLY”, while Lucy – dressed as The Father – smirks and points at the article of clothing and Phoebe – as The Holy Ghost – covers her eyes.
Tumblr media
This has raised a big question for some fans, namely: “Are Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus in a sexually intimate relationship?” This is truly no one's business. However, this photo also prompts a different and possibly more interesting question – what can we glean of the band’s theology of the Trinity based on the picture?
Tumblr media
Phoebe – dressed as the Holy Ghost – averting her eyes in the picture has profound implications on the nature of the godhead. The most straightforward interpretation points to the boygenius picture depicting an understanding of the trinity that predates the 381 revision of the Nicene Creed at the First Council of Constantinople, which added the following lines to the Creed:
“And in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of life, who proceedeth from the Father, who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified, who spake by the prophets.”
Tumblr media
These lines were clarification on the nature of the Holy Ghost, who was mentioned in the original version of the creed established in 325, but not expressly stated to be worshipped or co-substantial with the Father and Son. The addition of these lines solidifies the council’s view of the Holy Ghost as an equal part of the Triune God. This view does not appear to be shared by the band members of boygenius, given that the Holy Ghost’s pose in the photo communicates a lack of authority to look beneath the underwear, implying that the Holy Ghost is not God.
Tumblr media
The photo could also feasibly be interpreted from an Arian theology of Christ – that is to say that photo does not decisively communicate that Christ himself is God. Julien – as Christ - is looking away from the underwear, towards Lucy – as the Father. One could reasonably interpret the look as a one of deference. Perhaps only the Father is authorized to remove the underwear and gaze beneath. Whether Christ himself is able to look beneath the underwear is left inconclusive within the bounds of the photo. If Christ is also not considered to be equal and co-substantial with the Father as God, the picture may be Arian in nature. This, however, is less certain.
Tumblr media
In conclusion, the picture depicts a view of the Trinity that is – at the very least – not in congruence with the Nicene Creed after its revision at the First Council of Constantinople, and could further be interpreted in an Arian view with some assumptions. However, for this viewer, one thing remains clear: seeing Julien Baker has me muttering “Jesus Christ”, even when it isn’t Halloween.

One of the ways God speaks to you is by The Holy Spirit bringing your memories back to you. Everything you read, watch and hear can be used by God to speak to you. That includes memories of Bible verses you've read. The more you read the Bible, the more Bible verses you know, the more you can have conversations with God. When you speak to Him, He will often answer with a Bible passage. Try it for yourself. May you have many, many wonderful conversations with God. Amen!🙏🕊🙌
“But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.” —John 14:26 (AMPC)

In all other religions, the god wants you to climb up a ladder to get to him, but in Christianity, our God came down the ladder to get to us. In all the other religions, we need to clean the house, set the table, and prepare a nice dinner for the god, but in Christianity, Jesus sets the table for us.

Hold Tight to God
The letter of Jude is a short letter that covers both warning and encouragement. Jude is writing to a group of believers, and he is warning believers that there are some ungodly people in their midst. Some of these people are teaching false doctrine and leading others astray.
Jude warns them to be confident that they are grounded in the truth of God so that they won’t be affected by those who seek to slander or divide them.
Part of his encouragement is to remember the words of Jesus (Jude 1:17). His readers need to continually remember what Jesus said as a way of remaining faithful to that message.
He also encourages them to remain faithful to the things they believed about their own faith, and to continue praying in the Spirit. Reading Scripture, praying in the Spirit, and remaining faithful to God are all critical elements of living a mature Christian life.
That’s why in Jude 1:21, he tells his readers to keep themselves in the love of God as they wait for the day when Jesus will return to make all things new. God’s love isn’t something we experience once—it’s something we continually encounter and participate in.
Jude’s words are relevant to anyone who believes in Jesus. We all need to be engaged in Scripture so that we have confidence in the truths that we believe. As we do that, we should regularly have conversations with God. The more often we do this, the more we are immersed in reminders of His great love.
Take a few moments to think of how you can deepen the time you spend with God. Write down a few steps that you can take to engage in your relationship with Him in new ways.

John 14:16-18 (NASB). “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.”
“Who Is the Holy Spirit?“ by In Touch Ministries:
”When Jesus returned to heaven, He didn't leave us alone; He gave us the Holy Spirit.”
“Some Christians don’t realize the Holy Spirit came at the moment of salvation to live permanently within them. And some who do realize this don’t understand who the Spirit is, how He works, or why His indwelling presence is so significant.
The Holy Spirit is a person—not simply a power or force—and He, along with the other two members of the Trinity, was involved in creation. We know this because when God created mankind, He said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness” (Genesis 1:26). The plural pronouns in this passage refer to God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit.
On the night before the crucifixion, Jesus told the disciples that the Father would send them a Helper who would be with them and in them forever (John 14:16-17). Even though the Lord would no longer be physically present, He wasn’t going to leave them to fend for themselves like orphans. Instead, He promised to come to them through the presence of His Spirit (John 14:18).
Because of the crucifixion, today the Spirit is our leader, guide, teacher, and comforter. His presence in us means that we are God’s children and that God has upheld His promise to always be with us.”
