Day 13 - Armor
Essice (left; they/it), Ebonony (they/him), and random evil guy (right). Ebonony has natural armor that's harder than most reflective steel.
Essice isn't very impressed.

I lived through the trend of YA authors killing off their main female character in the last book. Nothing can hurt me anymore.

When a character is so so close to giving up but then the person they care about is about to die so they literally bloody there hands and kill as many people as it takes to keep them alive I just can’t believe that kind of love is out there

So after plotting Anino I realized because I want to set it in futuristic Phillippines that there is still a lot of work that I need to do with research before I can tell the story properly.
So I looked through old plots I had and started developing each of them and this is the project that not only is the most developed but also the one I'm most excited about

The last star in the universe shines brightly. The rest of the sky has darkened. We stand at the end with no hope and are just all waiting to die.
We fight for the last scraps of the universe. Everything that could be colonized was colonized including moons and large asteroids.
There is a militant race called the Myew that has colonized all the others and has brought a 'peace' to the universe. There is one planet they have not managed to colonize though. Myrisia. Home of the fey.
Myrisia is rich in resources, and the rest of the universe is fighting for scraps. There is a war to try to take Myrisia by force, but the magic of the fey is unlike anything the universe has seen and they have held the rest of the universe but just barely.
The Myew have rallied the rest of the universe to take Myrisia by force, even so much as to blow a hole in the planet, but the very planet fights back.
Still the Myew have finally have a foothold to colonize and they plan to do whatever it takes to survive.  And the native fey will do whatever they can to protect their planet from invasion.
Oh did I mention the Myew are all catgirls
The Last Star features a poly cast of for main queer characters
One myew, one half myew/fey (featured), one trans robot (based off of bubs from space sweepers), and one fey. They must all learn to overcome their differences and save the universe together.

God damm The 5th Wave movie it's so offensive, how could they kill the books spirit like that?! Only good thing is the actors and Sia's song at the credits. I hope the books get a new adaptation in the future, a tv show would be great!!

Title: The Last Star
Author: Rick Yancey
Rating: 5 out of 5
Review: I found the first two books in this series mediocre at best, wouldn’t have even finished the series past book one if I hadn’t purchased the entire set. However, this was easily the best in the trilogy and unfortunate that it took until the third book for a major emotional impact. The storylines in this book are of a much higher stake than they have been before and the fact that this time around Yancey clarifies which characters POV you’ll be entering is a great help. I felt much more connected to the characters and much more invested in whether they made it out alive. A lot of twists that I wasn’t quite expecting but paid off and you could tell they weren’t an afterthought, weaved in so carefully you wonder how you hadn’t figured it out before.

Technically speaking Cal is the only, living, Jedi who was officially knighted. Yoda implied Luke was a Jedi, but he never knighted him. And Ahsoka and Ezra were Padawan’s who never officially finished there training.
their collective teaching credentials are basically just "haha dude trust me I know what I'm doing for sure"
