i need to watch back through 2k3 again bc i swear Raph and Leo barely even fight about the whole “leadership thing.” Like I can’t really recall any of their fights explicitly being “im a better leader than you”??

maybe my memory is faulty but i swear that most of the fights are literally just Raph essentially butting heads against any idea he even slightly disagrees with or doesn’t see the point of, even if half of hose nitpicks are just that, Raph being an obstinate nitpick and being loud and gruff about it. Most of them never blow up into real fights

the only big fight i can remember Raph and Leo engaging in is the fight during City at War, in which situation they both had extremely relevant points, and Raph wasn’t even challenging Leo’s position as leader, he just thought Leo’s point of view was rash and stupid

When I do get to the part 2 of my Jarlaxle meta series, I'm probably gonna focus it mostly on how he tends to shelve his emotions, and the ways in which he practices emotional intelligence, but also has a really bad habit of devaluing himself at times.

Because don't get me wrong, I admire the hell out of him, but there are a lot of things I wanted to get to in that post and just didn't because it'd be too long and I wasn't up for that, and the thing is, as incredibly good as Jarlaxle is at diffusing situations... the guy DOES have his own opinions. It's not that he /never/ gets offended or anything, it's that he makes a conscious decision NOT to at certain points.

But he absolutely DOES have moments where that patience runs thin, such as his initial interactions with Cadderly, and I plan on getting to that, too, at some point in the future.

I completely understand why she wouldn't want to continue being the party leader in the House, regardless of whether the Dems had kept the majority or not.

And she will still be in the House, as a backbencher (and possibly ranking minority member on committees).

But still...the best political operator the Democrats have had in a long time, not remaining in the leadership.

Besties, it's clipboard season again, and not to brag but I'm really fucking good at colors

#clipboard season: when i tey desperately to paint a clipboard for all of the leadership and my staff at the camp i work at #this year it amounts to about fifteen clipboards #i choose a different cool thing that reminds me of the person or what i think they would like and then paint it on the back of a clipboard!! #today i started the first because i got the overwhelming vision while i was at work and i needed to paint it #this guy is the nature director. loves fishing and is very good at it. knows a shit ton about fish and fishing #so im painting his clipboard in the style of those educational posters with a bunch of different fish on it #yknow the yellowy beige ones with like fish or plants drawn on them #yeah. im doing that with common fish found in our lake!! #which prompted this post because. that yellowy beige was a fun color to mix up. and not to brag but i got it just about perfect #now comes the drawing. im better at painting than drawing #colors and stuff make more sense than lines and stuff. but im getting better! #im learning more and more every day. and i guess today (and for rhe next ten days) ill be learning to draw fish #(I'm giving myself ten days per clipboard) #(last year when i started i only had like three days per clipboard to finish them before camp) #(spoiler: i finished exactly one) #really hoping this year ill do better. mostly because i love painting and this is a fun way to remember to do ir #as well as challenge nyself and get better #i hope youre all having a great 2024

Cartoon: Transformers Prime / Robots in Disguise 2015

Characters: Smokescreen, Knock Out, and Bumblebee, with appearances from numerous other characters (even ones not featured in the cartoons)

Synopsis: An Autobot Elite Guard rookie, a Decepticon medic turned Autobot, and an Autobot scout turned warrior turned street cop - three very different bots with a wide range of stories to tell. And we are going to spend the next year exploring said stories through daily-written drabbles, be they angsty, humorous, gut-punching, or just plain odd! Who doesn’t love a challenge? (2016 to 2017)

All My Fault

The sparkeater nightmares from his sparklinghood were still fresh. The events of Tyger Pax and the subsequent nightmares weren't easily forgotten either. Recently, a new wave of nightmares had been coming for him. He supposed these particular nightmares were an inevitable part of becoming a leader, but they hit a little too close to home.

He would be with his team, and things would quickly descend into madness. One by one, his entire team would fall despite his best efforts to protect them, until he was left alone with the knowledge that it's all his fault, all his fault, all his fault...

Nervous

"Bumblebee, you scout ahead and see what we're up against."

"You got it."

"Recon only, all right? And be careful!"

"Relax, I'll be fine!"

Bumblebee was starting to reconsider that stance as he wandered about the very abandoned looking building. Under any other circumstance, Bumblebee would've felt secure enough to essentially throw stealth to the wind. But there was something about the dead silence and utter darkness that had him keeping to the walls.

"Don't be so paranoid," Bumblebee muttered, turning a corner. "Keep it-"

His headlights illuminated several Decepticon corpses, strewn about the hallway, grey and lifeless.

"Oh... good..."

Better to be Happy

Today, Ratchet had suggested some form of speech therapy to help him get used to the new voice box. Bumblebee had only nodded in response, before leaving to aimlessly wander the halls once again.

Later, a nervous Sideswipe asked 'Bee if maybe he wanted to play capture-the-flag later. Bumblebee wanted to refuse with some cutting remark. He also wanted to accept with an enthusiastic exclamation. He could not muster enough emotion to care about doing either of those. Ultimately, Bumblebee forced a smile and nodded.

Sideswipe lit up. "Great! See you soon!"

As soon as Sideswipe turned away, Bumblebee's smile disappeared.

Bonus Day

I went into work for a couple hours this afternoon. We had one final leadership team meeting to finalize a presentation to staff about some of the things we're focusing on this year. I wasn't sure how long that would take, so I went to the meeting in my running clothes in case I didn't have time to change before the annual cross country challenge. Turned out, I did have time, but since I was already set to go racing, I used the time to get some work done in my classroom.

Now, if you're wondering what this cross country challenge is, it's a two-mile scrimmage race between our high school team, one of our local rivals, and the community running club- which is who I was racing for, of course. There's a potluck dinner on the field afterwards, it's very social, it's a ton of fun. Tonight's weather was perfect and cool, too, so I had a really good run (for me, that is: I can only race the 100m dash quickly, my goal in anything else is just to not finish last).
