[ID: screenshot redraw of the ending cutscene in The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. Link is reaching out for the outstretched hand of King Daphnes. Link is the same as in game but with the addition of freckles. faded in the background is sheet music for Farewell, Hyrule King. centred on the piece is orange script that reads, “Farewell, Hyrule King.” end ID]
i’ve always found the music in loz to be the best aspects of many of the games. the ending cutscene of wind waker always gives me chills with the music being what moves me the most. just listen to it if you have the chance and really try to feel every note. it’s beautiful. and it just works because it contains the hyrule castle theme you can hear in wind waker, a link to the past, a link between worlds, four swords, and twilight princess. he’s the king and incorporating the castle theme into his own theme just makes me go dnfkfndknsksbcjcnjs. i really wanted to make an art piece to appreciate that. so the background is using actual sheet music by the composers (specifically what the right hand plays in the intro because i had limited space). the composers for loz are so smart and it shows. i could talk about the easter eggs in loz music for hours but alas, i must digress. i’m really proud of this piece so i’m excited to share it with everyone 🧡🌬🌊
