I admire Nie Huaisang for his dedication, and absolute inability to let anything go.

Like, the way he orchestrated the parading of every single one of Jin Guangyao's sins, and they still weren't gonna kill him, so Nie Huaisang was like sigh, do I have to do everything myself around here? and proceeded to trick Lan Xichen into killing him...by lying through his teeth.

If Nie Huaisang decides you're dead, then you're dead, brother, and it can take as long as it wants, it's not gonna change the outcome.

The one negative when it comes to watching asian dramas that were based off of novels is that often times things won't make sense and you just have to accept that.

Due to budget or time constraints or censorship laws, etc etc etc, things will inevitably have to be changed, modified, or left out, and often times things that would have made perfect sense in the novel will either be left unexplained in the drama, or be modified in such a way that it no longer makes any sense.

Probably one of the most obvious/well-known examples of this would be in The Untamed, when Wei Wuxian asks Lan Wangji to lend him his headband to use as a blindfold.

I don't think I need to explain why that sounded absolutely ridiculous to drama-only fans (myself included).

A character being totally canon LGBTQ+ and disabled was not required to be in this competition. Please check qualifications and propaganda before asking why a character is included.

Song Lan-The Untamed / Mo Dao Zu Shi

Qualifications:

Has mysophobia, was blind, had his tongue cut out, whatever he has going on with Xiao Xingchen.

Propaganda:

He’s just a bit funky to me. He’s just such a tragic dude.

Link-Legend of Zelda (Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom)

Qualifications:

He was legit designed to be androgynous (Nintendo has actually said this) and easily passes as a girl (I firmly believe Link is genderfluid), and also he got his arm yoinked

He lost his arm in TOTK, but ALSO we know that one version of him, the Hero's Shade (seen in Twilight Princess, and canonically is the one from Ocarina of Time) is missing his eye. Aside from that, one version of Link (the one in BOTW/TOTK) is commonly headcanoned as gay/bi (often shipped with prince Sidon of the zora), as well as seen by plenty of fans as genderfluid or nonbinary. People also headcanon him as having PTSD and severe anxiety due to the VERY traumatic things he's had to deal with (particularly BOTW Link, as he's the one who failed in his mission to protect Hyrule, unlike the other versions)

Propaganda:

Link is the best and deserves to be in this

Link is cool, and I want more people to see how cool he is

Anything Else?:

Okay, if you want to see a GREAT Zelda comic that incorporates both the mental health headcanons common with Link, as well as one version missing his eye, look up Linked Universe, it's pretty good at showing those (Submitter 2)

okay so people new to tumblr need to learn something real quick: tumblr is not instagram or twitter or tiktok and on this website we do not steal work from artists to gain our following, we reblog only from the artist and if we do repost, we make sure that we have very clear consent from the artist to do so and that we credit and link them in the description.

tumblr is one of the few remaining platforms where plagiarizing is not a huge issue. let’s please not make it one.

when you repost art, you are stealing that attention from the artist and whether you mean to or not, you are being deceitful and many people will believe that the art you are reposting is yours and will follow you instead of the actual artist who spent hours on the piece just for someone else to take credit by omission. also putting ‘not my art’ in the tags is not enough. if you can’t credit, don’t repost.

artists are already afraid to post their art because of this behavior becoming more and more common on the internet. if you enjoy art, please stop doing this, not just on tumblr but in general.

internet popularity cannot be worth it for how devastating this behavior is to artists.
