horror sub-genres • romantic horror
romantic horror combines both aspects of each other. it has a love story central to its plot but with a combination of horror elements like fear, dread, etc. it crosses over with other sub-genres most of the time.

Just read the latest tgs update and you know what would be funnier? If there were a bunch of lodgers eavesdropping on them from behind the door or something lol
Even better if they had a betting pool going on and a lot of them needing to pay up cuz they had betted on Hyde

The Magpie Au Summary
Hyde and Jekyll get wings, that’s it lol, here’s the summary that was previously on my master post
The Magpie au is essentially Jekyll adding a little extra something derived from birds in his HJ7 serum, doesn’t do anything extra then yeeting Hyde into existence until they grow a patch of feathers on their back. It seems fine, they can just wear clothes to cover it, but then they sprout wings and that’s where the problems start. Hyde absolutely loves these feathery appendages and makes use of them in his nightly escapades, Jekyll loathes them and mostly keeps them bound with a corset to try and conceal them in public.
How it happened
An extra ingredient put into the HJ7 was sourced from birds and affected them physically as a result. Started as a patch of feathers on their backs for a year and a half (not sure if it’s early on or a bit later with the start of the society, definitely after Hyde is created), Jekyll attempted to pluck them early on but found it too painful to continue regularly, afterwards the wings made themselves known. The wings growing were pretty nasty and painful, as spontaneously growing new limbs usually is accompanied by growing pains as their body accommodated them.
It’s effects
The wings start a bit small with a few downy feathers, then grow to its proper size with said downy feathers being shed to make room for proper ones. The downy feathers were stashed away in a few select pillows in Jekylls office and may or may not hold some sentimental value to him because of it. General aches and pains were an unfortunate side effect for the shift in muscle structure (and maybe bone too). Overall the first month after those wings came in weren’t fun (and Hyde was very whiny about it).
How the duo react
Jekyll binds his wings with a corset, never takes them out often but when he does he thoroughly grooms them and even uses them, but never outside the confines of his office. He likes to open them fully every now and again, maybe flap and stretch them but that tends to make his paperwork scatter to the floor. Hyde doesn’t mind and merely wears his cape over it for convenience, likes to cut holes in his (and a select few of Jekylls) clothing to accommodate and usually does all the flying for the two of them. Hyde regularly flies as he takes great joy in it, fluttering his wings with each leap from rooftop to rooftop and tries to pull aerial stunts if he’s feeling particularly daring in private.
How the duo view it
Jekyll views them as a burden, comparing it to the tale of Icarus and a reminder of how he’s permanently changed himself but also a tempting call to freedom. Hyde views them as a perfect tool for him and an extension of his own wildness that enables him to escape from the city and the people whenever needed, nobody can pin him down.
How the others respond
When the Lodgers inevitably discover Hyde’s odd bird like behaviors he gives a different explanation to each person, for the more reasonable ones they assume Hyde is just being Hyde. Lanyon doesn’t know any of this of course, but aside from that it’s more or less treated as something not even worth discussing most of the time. Rachel of course comes up with horrid bird themed nicknames and jokes, Jasper suspects something more as he’s quite familiar with animals including feathered ones.

Loftus Hall - Ireland's most haunted
A little aside from the shore and from the village a Hall stands. Weathered, sure, but still in all its glory a moldy, ancient place inhabits. Ireland's most haunted place stands alone in the austere and rather bleak landscape. Read about it here🦇💀
Loftus Hall is said to be one of Ireland’s most haunted mansions. It is thought that the place is haunted by one of the daughters that had an encounter with the devil himself in disguise and never recovered from the shock after she found out the truth. A magnificent and stately manor to look at is Loftus Hall, one of Ireland’s finer ones of the Hook peninsula of County Wexford. This area is a…
