'The Motherland Calls of Russia carries a ton of meaning to think about whenever I see the architectural marvel. It calls to fight for the motherland.

Not the size or budget of a statue makes it great. It makes anyone seeing it tired, not by its sheer size, but by the history it carries.

I will visit it one day.

*person who repeatedly complains that all actual play is D&D voice* Oh I stopped listening to TAZ after Balance and dipped in for Ethersea but never really got into Amnesty or Steeplechase or any of their mini-series. No, I haven't checked out Candela Obscura or any of the CR one shots...heard weird things about the Monsterhearts one. Yeah I'm more into D20 now...no, haven't been keeping up with Mentopolis.

#like in all seriousness in my experience a lot of people want D&D but they don't want it to be called D&D #the reason people got so weird about the use of Good Society is that acofaf was like. fully d&d-compatible with good society as an add-on #bc the two systems operate in totally different spheres #so you had full d&d but also a second system running so you could be like no this is good society but it was clearly both. #also this is just like. the huge names that have done non-d&d stuff (i love naddpod but they've never done much in other systems) #we're not even getting to the VtM or Motherlands or various PF SRD podcasts just to name ones i'm broadly aware of #(it's similar to how people complained about CR's cast not being diverse (valid) but then were like anyway stan naddpod) #if i were to get REALLY into it and i am bc i didn't sleep enough and i'm drinking straight cold brew concentrate at 7:02 am #it's also why people are so vile about new character art #it's either entitled people who want a made-to-order story like it's a chipotle bowl or something and are mad they will never get it #or people with genuine complaints they don't know how to or will not voice #so they latch onto a detail that really isn't the problem.

??? Truly harassing cn diaspo online and feeding violence against cn diaspo in English spaces and the virulent racism against Chinese and ppl who look like us in the west will get you so far politically, China cares so much about randos who don't even have Chinese passports! Bringing up the gov when you've been charged with racism against a Chinese individual translates to 'Chinese people are their gov and my racism against them and harm against them is justified because of it'. There's no other interpretation. You can say what you want, but your end point is that you are okay with and support Chinese diaspo communities facing racialized violence. The gov topic was laid to rest when your accusations were PROVED WRONG, unless you think Chinese diaspo should in fact have to answer for their gov based purely on race and dont get to protest when people spread provably false rumours about them. If you want to complain about depictions or politics you can do it without falsely implicating the Chinese person in question just because she correctly identified the provably flase accusations as driven by sinophobia, ie conflating her with a state she has fuck all to do with. I just realized Abigail's whole "I'm planning the wedding so we don't get some weird necro ceremony" mission was at least a little bit bluster to make them accept her paying for it. There's no way Raelle and or Scylla could have even afforded half of it. I mean, I love the Collar house, but it's not "the President officiates my wedding" nice. Making them take a long weekend was a) nice and b) an easy way to avoid all the cost of everything conversations-- she can just present the wedding as a fait accompli, no whining allowed cause it's not like they can uncater the thing or uncut the flowers.

It was such an early!Abigail thing to rag on Necro & make it sound like she's got better taste, only now it's not to be high and mighty, it's so she can give half her unit as special a day as she can dream up without them having to worry about paying for it.
