it is a good thing for david tennant that the SAG strike is haulting any good omens press tours or con circuits because i would actually have to hunt him down just to corner him at a con booth and ask him why in the "forest of the dead" series 4 episode 9 of doctor who the doctor says to the vashta nerada "Im the doctor and youre in the biggest library in the universe, look me up." and that makes them run away and let him take literally hundreds of meals away from them.

Why does that work david, whats in the books david, what did the doctor do to make shadows that eat people in a microsecond believe that the doctor would be able to - i guess - fucking take them in fisticuffs, because theyve got him cornered in that scene david? why are they so scared david? what did you mean in this line?

i know you didnt write the line but you perform that scene with the same facial mannerisms youve used in hamlet during a descend into madness scene what did you mean when you made that choice david? What do you think was in the books david? i havent cared about doctor who that much since peter capaldis run ended but you know damn well im gonna be watching those three episodes with ten in them next season because I need to see what in the goddamn could compell a character like that.

An excellent tribute to Capaldi and the Twelfth Doctor, with a bit of "arm's length" acknowledgement of Whouffaldi tossed in AND if that wasn't enough, the writer even states that ageism may have also been a factor for some. Definitely a long way from when the BBC threw him under the bus with that "not universally loved" crack.

Too much. If someone had asked you to define that day, you’d have answered it was too much. Too much stress. Too much noise. Too many people. Too much of everything.

As soon as you had woken up, you had felt this day wouldn’t be the best and the following hours had confirmed it. University was particularly exhausting. The end of the semester was quickly getting closer and the pile of assignments to hand back and study to do was growing at the same rhythm. Your focus and motivation were struggling more and more to stay by your side. You were only waiting for spring break to - finally - breathe and isolate yourself.

On top of the pressure from University, you hadn’t seen Peter the whole day. Even if you didn’t have the same classes, you would always find a way to meet for lunch or at least ten minutes during the afternoon. Unfortunately, Friday was your busiest day and it was impossible for you two to see each other on campus, therefore, you were even more edgy. Sure, you’d spend the night at his place for your weekly viewing of Star Trek but you wanted to be in his arms as fast as possible.

As soon as your teacher finished his lesson - not without adding an umpteenth assignment, you packed your things. Despite the knot still present in your stomach, you could take air into your lungs a bit more easily at last. However, you were waiting to set your eyes on your boyfriend to take a real breath.

Upon arriving home, your parents didn't take the time to greet you or ask you how your day went, they rushed to make a snarky comment about your school grades without even knowing what they were talking about. Your anxiety was slowly turning into frustration and you did everything in your power to not say a word, you were holding on the last bit of calmness you still had. Without glancing at them, you went to your room and closed the door without wasting a second before laying on your bed.

You had less than an hour before Peter was over with his classes. You took advantage of that time to get away from the stressful atmosphere. Your noise cancelling earphones in your ears, you took the book on your nightstand, Lord Of The Rings - you couldn’t say how many times you had read it. What was supposed to give you some sense of comfort got you more frustrated. Your mind was too overworked to focus on your reading and the way you had been around too much stimulus didn’t help either. Annoyed, you closed your book ten minutes later and waited for Peter impatiently.

Relief could be read on your face when you heard Peter knocking on your door. Unintentionally, you glanced at the window. It wasn’t rare for Peter to come see you before or after his night patrols and as he had to be discreet, he’d come through the window.

After putting your earphones and your book in your bag, you took it in your hands and met Peter at the entrance. He kissed you for the first time since the night before. The kiss was quick but full of love. He took your bag and put it on his shoulder whilst you took his hand in yours. Following this contact, your shoulders relaxed a bit.

On the way home, Peter was the one speaking, telling you all about his day. Normally, you would have answered him with passion and would have told him about every single thought running through your mind but being too tired, you preferred to stay silent. Peter, always being the caring boyfriend and knowing you since childhood, noticed your mutism instantly yet, he didn’t comment on it. With a simple look, he understood you had had a long day. While he kept talking, he paid attention to your gesture, being ready to react if you needed anything.

The trip to Peter’s seemed longer than usual, you couldn’t see the end of it. You held yourself back from sighing several times in the subway.

Once you were at his place, you went to the kitchen where you swiftly greeted Aunt May who had to leave for work. When you were alone, Peter took two glasses and a bottle of soda whilst you took some popcorn for your night.

In his room, Peter gave you one of his tee shirts that you put on fastly, wanting to smell his scent on you. His tee shirt looked more like a dress but you didn’t mind it. Peter changed into more comfortable clothes as well.

Once you were on Peter’s bed, you laid on your left side, putting your head on your boyfriend’s chest while the computer was on his legs and the bowl of popcorn between you two. During the first minutes of Star Trek Into Darkness, you were able to focus then you thought about University, in spite of yourself.

The thought had just crossed your mind for a second, nonetheless it was enough to distract you. Mentally, you made a list of everything you had to do. The more you were thinking, the more you were aware of the work you still had left. Feeling your hands starting to shake, you knew the panic attack was around the corner. You tried to take deep breaths discreetly, hoping to not catch Peter’s attention - his spideysense could betray you at any given moment. When your heart began racing as well, you knew it was too late. Hiding your jerky breaths as best as you could, you tried getting out of the bed normally with teary eyes. You didn’t have the time to move a leg that Peter was already facing you, he was on his guard. Bluntly, he put the computer and the bowl of popcorn on the floor and helped you to sit on the bed correctly. You brought your hand on your chest, the pain becoming stronger and at the same time, your tears were running down your cheeks.

Peter was looking at you without touching you, afraid it would make the situation worse - he knew you weren’t fond of physical touch so he was always making sure he was respecting your boundaries, especially in those kinds of situations. Rapidly, he hid his panic, you needed to see him calm.

“Hey, it’s gonna be okay.” Peter assured you. “Can I take your hand to put it on my heart ?”

You nodded with difficulty as an answer. Delicately, he took the hand that was on your thigh in his. His grip on your hand was light, giving you the chance to take it out if you changed your mind. He put your hand on his heart and he gave you a reassuring look before adding :

“Alright. We’re gonna breathe together slowly. It’s okay. It’s gonna be okay, Y/N.” he repeated. “You’re safe. Take a deep breath through the nose and exhale through the mouth.” Peter told you, doing it with you. “Look at our hands.”

At his sentence, you did what he told you. As you kept looking at the fixed point, you felt Peter’s calm heartbeat through your hand and it helped you to feel more shielded. You were still struggling to breathe but after the fifth inspiration, your heart and your tears began to calm down.

“It’s okay. You’re okay.” Peter whispered.

A few minutes later and thanks to Peter’s help, you were respiring normally again. He stopped talking, allowing you to pull yourself together at your own pace. You kept your eyes on both of your hands for a few more seconds, enjoying the calm. Peter’s eyes didn’t leave your figure, making sure the panic attack wasn’t coming back.

When you got a hold of yourself, you stopped looking at your hands whilst a feeling of shame went through your body. You avoided Peter’s gaze and you wiped your wet cheeks with your free hand. It wasn’t the first time Peter witnessed one of your panic attacks however, you didn’t like being that vulnerable in front of him. You took your hand from his chest and started playing with your fingers. You didn’t dare to break the silence first and Peter understood it clearly.

“Do you want to talk about it ?”

“There’s not a lot to say.” you stated with a deeper voice than usual as you were tired.

“You hadn’t had a panic attack in a long time.” Peter noticed.

“Well, the end of the semester doesn’t really help not to be anxious.”

“There’s something else.”

Hearing his sentence, you couldn’t help but be a bit annoyed. He knew you like the back of his hand. Despite your efforts, you couldn’t hide anything from him so you sigh before admitting reluctantly :

“It just wasn’t a great day. It’s nothing. I’m fine.” you brushed it off, forcing yourself to look at him for a second.

“You know you can tell me everything. You also know I don’t mind listening to you and helping you.” he reminded you softly.

“I know.”

“I mean it, Y/N. You've always helped me, especially after I became Spiderman so it’s only fair I return the favour.”

“I just don’t want to be a burden for you.” you confessed with difficulty.

“You are not a burden and you never will be. I will do everything for you. You’ve helped me and you’ve loved me so much so just know, I will always love the hell out of you.”

Not knowing what to answer, you leaned in and pressed your lips on his. You kissed gently, enjoying each other’s presence. With that kiss, you wanted to show him all your love and gratitude. He knew what to say to make you feel better and you knew he was sincere in his words. Peter would have brought you Heavens if that was what you had needed. He would have taken all the pain you were going through if he could have and he still would have smiled at you while doing so. He would have done everything that was possible and impossible for you and you would always be grateful for it.

Peter let you take control of the kiss, allowing you to break it whenever you wanted to. When you did it, you looked at Peter tenderly whilst he was smiling at you with the same softness.

“We can talk about it later, if you prefer.” he said, knowing you needed time. “Do you need anything ?”

“I’d like it if you grabbed my noise cancelling earphones for me and if we stayed in bed for a few moments.” you answered slowly.

Peter took what you needed in your bag and handed you your earphones. You put them in your ears, the silence comforting you a bit more while Peter was laying back down on the bed. You didn’t fully bring yourself closer to him, still needing some space but you took his right hand and played with his fingers. You let go of a sigh whilst Peter was watching you, still on his toes just in case.

You stayed in the same position until the sun left the sky. At one point, you even closed your eyes without sleeping. Once you felt a bit better, you took your earphones off and opened your eyes. Peter gave you a light smile and you did the same to him before he spoke.

“You want some tea ? I’ve got everything for your favourite tea.”

“What did I do to deserve you ?” you rhetorically asked, your smile growing bigger and your eyes full of love.

“You punched Josh Stewart when we were six because he had thrown my stuff on the floor.” he answered, making you laugh, the memory of your first meeting playing in your head. “So, tea ?”

“I’d like one.”

“I’ll be right back.”

After kissing you on your forehead, Peter left his bedroom. A few minutes later, he came back with a mug in his hands. He gave it to you while you sat up, resting your back against the wall. You took a big sip, enjoying the taste of black tea with lime, orange and spice. You kept the mug in your hands and Peter grabbed the book in your bag. He didn’t need to ask you to know you had brought one with you, you always had a book on you, no matter what. Peter laughed lightly when he noticed you were rereading Lord Of The Rings. He got on the bed, sitting next to you. While he was opening the book, you snuggled into him. Peter put his right arm around your shoulders, drawing you closer to him. You took another sip of your tea and Peter started reading where you had stopped.

As you were listening to Peter reading, you couldn’t help but feel grateful to have him in your life. He knew exactly what to do and say to help you feel better. You couldn’t have dreamed of a better boyfriend. You knew there would always be moments where you wouldn’t be okay like that day, just like Peter would have his bad days, but as long as you were together, you would both be okay.

And now here's a current ranking of the Modern Doctors

This is just based on the ones I've seen. I've just recently started watching the classic Doctor Who episodes and will give more of an official ranking another time....Anyways...

#13. No offense to the actress. She nailed the goofy, eccentric scientist who will fight with her last breath...but never had any good material to work with. It's a shame that she never had a good head writer, really...

#9. His appearance was off-putting, but he set out to justify both his and the revival's existence, doing FANTASTIC at it when bringing The Doctor bringing the modern era. I just wish he didn't look so...early 2000s.

#12. He started off too cynical, but really grew on me as his run went on. Peter Capaldi got to live the fan's dream, wanting to be a companion but ended up as The Doctor and having the time of his LIFE with it. He got the quips, the hilarious moments, and the speeches that made his Doctor great. I absolutely loved his final speech before the regeneration, saying the things that The Doctor and a true fan would want the next one to be...It's a shame that 13 wasn't a lot of those things, but she at least tried her best. And so did 12.

#10/14. Might as well lump these two together because they're basically the same. David Tennant's IRRADIATING charm where he could say anything and I'd be smiling. Plus, his off-the-wall maniac energy was a delight, and you can tell Tennant had the time of his life with every scene he's in, stealing the show at every opportunity. It was great to see him as Ten, it was a great surprise to have back as Fourteen, and it really is brilliant to use him as this transitional Doctor before the next guy takes over. Got to draw fans back in after five years of crap before making The Doctor Black (which some are likely already upset about for dumb reasons).

And #11. My GOODNESS, #11. He's just so...GOOFY, and I love it! Matt Smith has Tennant's enjoyment in the role turned up to eleven (ha), with him being this mad lad that brought a ton of humor but still a lot of heart and badassery. He'll leave you chills as he intimidates an enemy and leaves you laughing as he treats his bowtie as the most important thing in the universe. I couldn't get enough of him, and 11 will always be how I picture The Doctor no matter what face he takes next.

Speaking of new faces, 15 is already off to a great start. I just love how he's almost always smiling, as if he's experiencing life for the first time with new eyes and is having the time off his life with every facet of it. I can't wait to see 15 in a leading role and we get to see how well he'll do for this new age of Doctor Who. I'll be waiting with every episode, and it feels SO GOOD to finally say that again.

who is your favorite doctor? i love love love 9 but i haven't watched any classic who so jury is still out

my absolute favorite will always be 10, david tennant's doctor.

the very first episode i watched was blink which was. quite an introduction to who. david tennant is one of my absolute favorite actors, and i feel like he absolutely nailed the characterization for the tenth doctor. the tenth doctor's series ran from 2005-2010, and i feel like tennant's doctor perfectly captured the absurd and eclectic feeling of the 2000s. the internet was booming, it was a new millennia, and kids like me were told that the world was our oyster. watching doctor who made us feel like the universe, all of time and space, was too.

i also absolutely loved the balance between humor, adventure, and serious confrontations with morality. i think there is no better episode to describe this than "planet of the ood." catherine tate and david tennant are such an incredible duo and play off each other so effortlessly. they have such perfect comedic tone and timing, but during the scene where the doctor and donna meet the natural ood that are being held captive, both of them showcase such incredible depth of emotion that you don't even need to have a Statement of Theme. the way donna reacts to those ood says it all. i think another great example of this impressive acting is "the fires of pompeii." catherine tate absolutely nails the last like 10 minutes (and it's fun to see peter capaldi, especially knowing he'll be back!!). it definitely helps that the writers for the tenth doctor's series gave them awesome material to work with. i feel like i haven't seen as much of that in the newer series, despite really liking the actors.

so yeah, i think what makes the tenth doctor my favorite is a combination of tennant's stellar acting and characterization, great chemistry with costars (especially tate), and great writing. i'll be rewatching these seasons for as long as i live.

all of @ep6bastogne's wips (yes i read all your tags about them in utter anticipation), @luckynumber4's burgie wip! anything @footprintsinthesxnd writes! same with @lewis-winters ALL of your wips sound so so sooooo up my street/my thing!! there are so many more but despite my plans to spend the day at home i actually have to leave the comfort of my bed and brave the cold outside, and i'm late already so i'm gonna have to stop listing, but it's very likely that i'm excited for almost every single wip any of you guys have!

28 - what's something that lives in your brain rent free and you want everyone to know about the show/the fandom/your works?

outside of hbowar??? oooh i have LOADS of things!! the thick of it!! it has such clever funny writing, the best dialogue and political satire ever, because it's just so true to life and accurate for uk politics. peter capaldi is fucking amazing in it! and you'll see a lot of uk actors that are famous for other things here. but yeah, it's just hilarious and witty and clever. love it. go watch it. ummm other than that, the korean band onewe!! please go listen to them, they are ridiculously talented and have the kindest most lovely and accepting fandom in the world. in fact, the hbo war fandom and onewe fandom are the only two fandoms i've ever felt happy and comfortable in. onewe write beautiful songs with the most gorgeous lyrics (they have a space series which is one of my all-time favourites). ALSO pride (2014) as a movie recommendation! this film is my comfort film but it tears me apart as well. some people watch it for the queerness and come away learning about welsh history too.. for others, it's the opposite. but as a welsh gay man for me both those elements are so important to who i am and my own identity, that this film is just feels so incredibly special to me. especially the character gethin who i really feel i can relate to a lot due to our circumstances. tim roth is someone who i always wanna shout about and who lives rent free in my head too. love that man so much. also the band the libertines!! because them and the strokes were my entire teenage years and i pretty much grew up with their music as my 'soundtrack'. ok i think that's enough, even though i definitely have way more to shout about. sorry i rambled!

I think Miles got it in his head that he's the best writer in the universe because he was the lead writer of The Chorus Trilogy (seasons 11-13 of Red vs Blue), which most RvB fans seem to agree is probably the best arc in the entire show. The douche can write, and write well. The problem with RWBY is he just doesn't care at all about that IP.

And for the life of me I cannot figure out how he went from writing the Chorus Trilogy to whatever the fuck the Atlas arc is. Unless someone else wrote Chorus and he got to slap his name on it like James Patterson most of his bibliography of ghost writers, there should be no excuse for how the Atlas arc turned out.

So, I've never seen Red Vs Blue, so I can't say anything about Luna's writing in that show. But correct if I'm wrong, Red Vs Blue is set in the already made Halo universe, right?

Let me tell you, as someone who has been writing fanfiction for over a decade but who has also been unsuccessfully trying to write my own original stories but has never gotten past concept... It's a very different thing to write stories set in an already created world - even with your own plot and your own characters - than it is to write up your own world. And as far as I know, Miles Luna came into not only an already made world, but a story with already established characters and story. It's a little different with RWBY. Although not all of it is his own creation, it's undeniable that he's been an incredibly strong influence from conception to the volume we currently have. Basically, he might be better as someone who writes for already established properties, but not have the skill level or commitment to come up with everything himself.

It's a bit similar to Steven Moffat, in a way. He wrote some incredible episodes during the Christopher Eccleston/David Tennent seasons, including the Empty Child/the Doctor Dances (a personal favorite of mine,) Blink, and Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead. But when he took over as the head writer, he was just not great and just gradually got worse (I only watched up to the eighth season, so if he ever got any better than the failure of Peter Capaldi's first season, I haven't seen it,) and his work on Sherlock might've been more bad than his work on Doctor Who. But those early episodes he worked on were great! Some people are really good at working within other people's stories, but not as good at making their own.

It's also possible though that Miles Luna just.... Doesn't care as much about RWBY? Obviously I don't know him, so I can't say anything for sure, but RWBY wasn't quite his passion project, and sometimes with the way he talks about it, it feels like it might've been a headache for him. And there's a vibe that there was characters he just doesn't like or just does not care at all about, and the whole show just feels... Loveless, these days. So there's a chance that Miles Luna is apparently such a good writer for Red Vs Blue because he cared about it and had enthusiasm for the project, and with RWBY, any love and enthusiasm he once had for it has just died out. Again, this is all just speculation on my part, but it's a possibility.

How I feel about this character: I love him <3 I love all of the Doctors, but this guy has a special place in my heart, not just because he is played by amazing Peter Capaldi, but also overall his character has this grandpa aura which calms me down, I would love to sit and listen to his lectures in university

All the people I ship romantically with this character: the master, that's it :D I enjoy River with the Doctor, but it's not my ship My non-romantic OTP for this character: Bill <3 I loved 12 and Bill so much together, wish we had more of them and more of Bill in general. My unpopular opinion about this character: I don't think I have any, or idk I don't know if any of my opinions are unpopular, or which opinions are popular, I am not really in any fandom spaces, I just come here and throw my gifs

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: that somehow 12 would know about Missy's last actions, I know it would change whatever 13 and Dhawan!Master had, cos she thought the master chose to go away, not to stand with the doctor, but imagine if he knew, how different 13 and the master's relationship would be, maybe they would not end up like that after all, cos at some point I really thought they WANT to kill each other and they mean it, with other doctors and masters I saw it was always more like games, they were ready to shoot each other but it always felt like there's an escape plan, but with 13 and the master it felt real... I don't like it tbh, I want my master and doctor be all about rage and pain in my and their hearts, but I want it to be more like 'I want them to be on my side and I will destroy the world showing them they are like me' and 'I can change them' and making it worse style, then actually wanting to kill each other. my OTP: the master and the doctor

my cross over ship: I don't really ship 12 or the doctor in general with anyone else :/ but I would like 12 to meet any character played by Michelle Gomez :D Like, Lilith from caos or Miranda Croft, I think 12 would love them hehe a headcanon fact: he still gets irritated when he is called old, cos he is not old pffftttt but he genuinely smiles whenever a kid would call him a grandpa, any kid, something like 'you would be a great grandpa' and he is happy to hear that, but he won't admit it to anyone, cos he is not old lmao

Twice Upon a Time

I have Twice Upon a Time in my head now due to some tweets I read this morning. Personally, this is my favorite regeneration story. My favorite regeneration scene is still the Eleventh Doctor's regeneration. However, as a regeneration episode, Twice Upon a Time is #1. It's heartbreaking, beautiful, poetic. It's a perfect coda for Peter Capaldi and Steven Moffat.

I love the idea of the First Doctor fearing the act of regeneration for the first time. Not knowing what's coming or what's ahead for his future self. I love that he meets the Twelfth Doctor who wants his incarnation to be the last. He doesn't want to change anymore. I love that the First Doctor gets a glimpse of who will become in the future. He gets to see that he has an impact on the universe. The Twelfth Doctor faces that there is still good to be done.

My heart starts to break at the start of the Battlefield Christmas Truce and it's fully broken by the time he lets the Doctor go. I love that he gets his memories of Clara back. For me, when Clara "appears" we're reminded along with the Doctor just what he lost all those years ago. We remember again how special and important she was to him and what a big loss those memories truly were. Memories are important.
