#The manga had BETTER give him more screen time or we riot
Text
I think my greatest self-clowning of the century was when I started watching Moriarty the Patriot because I kept seeing Louis in previews and was like "oh wow he looks just like Ash, let's go fill that Banana fish-shaped hole" and then getting to know that he in fact is not the protag and being unreasonably pissed by his lack of involvement in the plot even though there was absolutely no indication it would be otherwise

[13/365] - [22/365] Dates
[13/365] After they started dating, Kirishima struggles with how to update Todoroki’s contact info. He switches from ‘my boyfriend’ to ‘bae’, to ‘snowflake’ and at some point even ‘Shoba’ before he gives up and settles for just Shoto until he can think of something better, more satisfying. Todoroki on the other hand just changes the name from Kirishima to Eijiro and calls it a day. That's his boyfriend's name after all.
[14/365] On their first date Kirishima takes Todoroki to the amusement park. After he heard that Todoroki never has been there, he made a mental note to give him the full experience and not when they are there to work. Todoroki should be able to enjoy it to his heart's content.
[15/365] The amusement park becomes their place to go on their anniversary. A day is barely enough to see and ride all the attractions, so Kirishima promises Todoroki to take him there again. And again and again, even when they're in their 40s or 50s or 60s...
[16/365] Watching Todoroki having cotton candy for the first time in his life is one of Kirishima’s most cherished moments because he hasn’t seen Todoroki’s face going through so many emotions in the span of seconds before. Plus he got to kiss sticky sugar off of Shoto's cheek.
[17/365] On the same date Shoto said ‘I love you’ for the first time, putting his sheer happiness into words. It was on the ferris wheel, the last attraction they rode. The sun had already set and the sky was painted in pretty shades of pink and purple. Kiri shed a little tear.
[18/365] On their second date Todoroki takes Kirishima to his favorite cat cafe. He’s never been bothered by going there alone while he was surrounded by couples, but now it only feels natural to bring his boyfriend with him and introduce him to his favorite cat.
[19/365] Todoroki missed out on a lot in his childhood due to the harsh training he had to go through instead of doing fun things. Kirishima made it his mission to help him catch up, so for a while they don’t run out of date ideas. Going to the aquarium, karaoke, hanabi and hanami festivals, hiking trips (a suggestion made by Bakugo), roller skating, bowling, theme cafes, a day at the beach etc.
[20/365] With Todoroki's interests in mind Kirishima also suggests going to Comiket, so that he can check out indie artists. Sure, it’s loud and there are way too many people, but Kirishima will hold his hand all the time to calm him down and so that he doesn’t get lost in the crowd. At the end of the day Todoroki still enjoyed it and goes home with over 20 doujinshis. He was also really amazed by the cosplayers and tells Kiri that it’s something he has always wanted to try as a child because he could be someone else if only for a while.
[21/365] Of course Kiri is going to make this wish happen as well. Once Todoroki made his choice, a side character from his favorite fantasy shounen manga, while Kirishima decided to cosplay his idol Crimson Riot (to support Shoto and hey, fun couple activity!), they get to work. Todoroki brings the money to the table, but not exactly knowing where to start, they ask their classmates for help. Deku is aiding with the sewing. Aoyama and Tokoyami are surprisingly good costume designers with a hand for special effects even though they both tend to overdo it (sitting on opposite ends of the spectrum). Mina is responsible for hair and make-up, but Ochako and Hagakure join them because they don’t want to miss out on the fun of dolling Todoroki up. They all agree to the unspoken rule that they won’t cover Todoroki’s scar up.
[22/365] Kirishima has a lot of patience and rarely gets angry (as long as we don’t talk about villains hurting people, especially his friends and family), but many years later when they are pro heroes, Eiijiro gets absolutely furious when Shoto’s scar gets retouched for a big beauty ad and his “flawless” face is shown on big screens and posters all over the cities and the headlines in gossip mags read 'this his how pro hero Shoto looks without his infamous scar'. Eijiro's outburst in which he tears the campaign apart is broadcasted on national TV.

Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma Chapter 315 (Final for Now) Review
Tumblr media
This is it. This is the ending…in Weekly Shounen Jump publication. Could you imagine reading this chapter and the announcement isn’t a continuation? That would be some riot. It would feel like a cancelled series’ ending. Actually, it’s almost similar to the series I mentioned in my last review. Anyway, it’s not the complete end, but it’s the end of its era. Whether we will learn the winner in Jump Giga issues or not, this was a charming chapter that reminded me why I stood around for nearly 5 years.
The color page spread is clearly a throwback/nostalgia trip to the very first chapter, where it all started. It’s a little funny when some people didn’t get the premise, but whatever it gives them a reason to hate, it is fine by me. With that out of the way, I really do like it; Soma’s position from back to front. Plus, his cloth isn’t on his head, indicating the journey is over. It wasn’t much.
The beginning does reminisce the early days, including a familiar posture Erina had back then. It’s the ultimate full circle. The only difference is, she’s stripped completely; foodgasm that is. Possibly the last taste description is displayed, and it sounds pretty good. I shall find a place and eat one to honor the series somehow. As nice this all was, the real treat is the reason behind the dish. I mean we covered this in the last chapter, but this time, Soma announces it proudly.
As if the shippers got enough treat already, though finalizing it will do, Soma is a real gentleman to admit that she practically inspired him to improve himself. He didn’t get why he passed the test, but even if he has, he’s not going to stop and glut until he shows significant improvement. He always sees her as a true rival; studying her dishes and always think of how to create an even better one. After all, this is all for the sake of making her to say his dish is “delicious.” Translation: Joichiro’s advice is in full effect; now, we just need to tie the knot. This was sweet. No pun intended?
It’s a good way to open Mana’s eyes since she believes God Tongue is the endgame for all, including themselves. Azami was defeated and she too succumbed to defeat by unsatisfactory. Soma proves there’s always someone that won’t stop and instead of threatened by supreme entity, inspired and improve. We’ve seen her flashback with Azami in which he never surpassed or matched her. Soma has a great shot to make it a reality.
Soma created the dish to not only and hopefully receive the word he’s been fighting for (no joke), but open her eyes and see what she really wanted: make her mother proud of her. Her goal is similar as Soma’s, so you can see how they can relate easily. Though it does suck for Erina as it somewhat carries over to her today, only against Soma and not as heartbreaking. So eating Soma’s dish is the wake-up call she needed; so much so, she destroys the wall. Well, this is the final chapter (in WSJ), so you might as well end with a bang. It does make a nice moonlight shot. Actually, the pun is the tower got stripped. Bottom line, she has evolved the Nakiri’s power. Senzaemon is trembling with excitement; grandpapa is so proud.
This tells me that this is it; this is where Erina will finally say the word Soma has been dying for. I was ready for it. Hell, it was practically hyping it up for the moment. Megumi thought this is it. To end the series, you end with a troll. After all that, she says, “It’s disgusting.” My immediate reaction was, “Oh no! Not another Hitman Reborn of complete circle of nothingness! Quick! Store the manga volumes and donate them for charity! Wait, the kids will wonder why these fictional characters get weird ‘tingling’ sensation…Target audience sure is different…” Megumi’s reaction got me laughing though.
While she did say that, she is now focus and motivated to kick Soma’s arse. Not literally, but their rivalry is always like this, and that’s how we like it. I always like how Soma always find a way to embarrass her when she is acting all high and mighty. One way or another, they find themselves motivated by each other; a pairing that fits perfectly well into the criteria of rivalry, best friends, and lovers. Soma wholeheartedly thanked her to push him this far. Thankful to meet people that is like her. Lastly, thankful to attend the Tootsuki under his father’s notice; feel the day of his own “Soma” cooking is here. The real battle begins, but the last chapter ends.
Tumblr media
If there wasn’t any announcement about the three special chapters, one in which takes place after the last chapter, same timeline, this would have been a really strange place to end on. It reminds me of two cancelled series, only it’s weirder for them to pull that since when will it ever return. Thankfully, there will be more on the way and while I can’t guaranteed that we will learn who the winner is, we will get an actual ending that will complete the story. It’s not the first time that has happened, so it’s fine the way it works. Better than saying good-bye there and never look back. That or how Bleach fans got their receiving end.
Tumblr media
This was the last chapter to be published in WSJ. Now, we play the waiting game for the next three chapters. The first one will be out in two weeks or a little under, but for the other two, each one will be out in a month apart. It’s going to be a long wait, but at least the chapters will be longer than usual, to my knowledge at least. The main course is done, but we haven’t received our dessert yet. It’s best to end your time with complete satisfaction. Now excuse me; I’m off to explore restaurants with Rough Diamonds by Screen Mode playing in the background. See you in the next one!

hey I hope you're happy (since you obviously deserve it)
!!!!!!!!!! Thank you??? I hope you’re happy too, anon!!!
Anon said:Wow Tetsutetsu and Kaminari like a couple? Really? Ok, that is interesting, but I don’t know if it is possible. Why do you put them together?
I mean, it’s a crack ship, being possible isn’t really its point haha they’re not supposed to make much sense, as far as canon goes? If I remember right they do come from the same prefecture, so maybe they knew of each other/ knew each other before UA, but as far as I’m concerned my interest in the ship comes from the quirk compatibility, really. It’s nothing I put much thought into, and I do have many ships for both of them I like better, but the idea of the two of them together is fun so why not
Anon said:The kamitetsu was really cute!!! It was also really super cute when two people spoke at the same time/had the same thought you mixed their colors!!! That was honestly a very nice touch and cute! I love your art it makes me so happy!
AHHHHH THANK YOU!!!!!! And I’m glad you liked that, for a while I thought mixing the colors like that was gonna make it confusing hahaha
Anon said:Just stopped by to say your artwork makes me so incredibly happy, and always improves my day!! I hope you have a great rest of the year because you deserve it!! Thank you for everything you do!
Sob thank you so much for taking the time to send this message!!!!! Ahhhhhh!!!!!!!
Anon said:I’m sorry for clogging your inbox with this (you don’t have to write back), but wanted to say I hope you feel better real soon and also to say thank you (so very much!!) for sharing your art. Selfish of me to say so, but it really really has cheered me up after a bad day. Lots of love to you!
I’m!!!! So happy I could help you feel better, anon!!!!! I hope your day is going 100x better, right now!!!! And thank you for the well wishes ;u;
Anon said:have you thought about this or what do you think about it?: Tokoyami / Mina ?
Never thought about it before, actually :O but why not? I’m not sure they’d work as far as personalities go, but they’re definitely aesthetically pleasing next to each other! Their designs work well together haha
Anon said:*Climbs out of the chimney, covered in soot and very disgruntled* I’ll have you know, good sire. *Tips hat.* That I just read the entirety of the Dgray man because of your laven art. And I- *Dabs at eyes, voice cracking* -am having more feelings than I ever wanted.
AAAHHHHHH I’M SORRY FOR THE UNWANTED FEELS but I’m??? so glad you decided to check the manga out????????????? I hope you liked it oh g o d that manga is my life !!!
Anon said:This isn’t like a “secret request for a drawing” but don’t you think there needs to be a hug between Deku and All Might somewhere in the manga?!? I mean c'mon, Deku cries at the drop of a hat, someone give the boy a hug! Plus, I feel like All Might is a kind of father figure for Deku!! Sorry, I just needed to get that out XD. Love your artwork though!! My heart skips a beat at the sight of it. And my love for Baku and Kiri has been extended.
We actually had one tho!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
an heartbreaking moment I 100% understand why you’d remove from your memory tbh, I cried, I’m still crying
Anon said:OOF i love your OCs..

Anon said:Heyyy I just wanted to say that I love your art with all my heart and the cat person/dog person one was so lovely.. I’m weak to kiribaku with animals.
So am I anon aaahhhhh !!!!!!!!! and thank you so so so so so much!!!!
Anon said:Just curious… do you have a personal favorite of your own art that you’ve posted?
Hmmmm not really, but if I had to pick one it’d be this one (which… does say something about my process and how to make it better……..) (a something I’m willingly ignoring) anyway usually what I’m the most satisfied with is the last thing I’ve posted haha
Anon said:Your art style brings out Kirishima’s adorableness even more. Holy heck I love how cute he is when you draw him. (And Bakugou and the rest of the kids too!)
THANK YOU!!!!!! I think it might be because I find him so incredibly cute, so I try to portray just how cute I think he is the most hahaha I’m glad I’m managing that well enough!!!!
Anon said: Hello~ Sending some love because you deserve it! I was having a shitty day (as always for me these days) and saw your Baku and Kiri cat & dog art and instantly felt a little better. My heart always feels lifted, and a smile replaces my tears, when I see your beautiful art! Even the kinda sad ones. If my heart hurts a bit from the sad arts, at least it’s because of the love expressed in the piece, and not heartache from personal things. Thank you, as always, for sharing your work.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you for the kind words oh my god!!!!!! ;O;
Anon said:IS BAKU WEARING A RED RIOT SHIRT AND DOES THE DOG HAVE A RED RIOT PAULDRON COLLAR AND IS KIRI WEARING A BAKU SHIRT
YES TO ALL OF IT!!!!!! :D
Anon said:i just want to tell you i’m now 10000 times gayer than i was before i’m blushing so much at your latest bakushima art… it’s sososo Good, i love you
:O thank you!!!!! I love you lots too!!!!
Anon said: I see you ship Bakugo and Kiri together. Why do you ship them? Just wondering cause i love hearing why people ship certain people. P.S: i soooooooo ship them as well.
God, that’s one hard question to answer easily - I somewhat talked about it here? tho it was more specifically about why chapter 90 kills me haha but yeah to sum it up I’d say that my favorite ship for Kirishima is Bakugou because I think he’s the one that understands Kirishima best, the one that’s been there the most for him when Kirishima needed it, the one that always knows what to say to him and the one Kirishima holds onto when he needs strength, he’s the one that’s shown the most concern for Kirishima and the only one that’s actively done something to make him feel better when Kirishima needed it. He’s the one Kirishima gravitates towards the most and the one Kirishima shows most sides of himself to, too. And my favorite ship for Bakugou is Kirishima because Kirishima’s the only one that actually tries to see behind Bakugou’s anger, the one that since the start looked at him rage and saw a teen in pain, the only one that actually knows how to talk to him and the only one that doesn’t even need to try, he’s just naturally Bakugou’s perfect match in personality. He’s the one that likes Bakugou as he is, for what he is, not part of him but all of him, completely. He’s the one that’d risk his life for Bakugou no questions asked, and he’s the one Bakugou’s the most willing to spend time with, the one Bakugou talks to and shares with and accepts help from.
I like the relationship they share with each other the most out of every other relationship they have with other characters because they’re comfortable with one another and care for one another in an active way, do everything they can to make sure the other is happy and safe. Because they’re each other’s strength and greatest ally and best friend. I like that they’re aware of each other, that they know each other, that they like each other - not in a subtext kind of way, but in an obvious, on screen, there-was-a-chapter-in-which-that-was-actually-spelled-out way. I like how Kirisihima always knows what’s up with Bakugou, and I like how he’s the proxy to go to when people don’t know where Bakugou is, and I like that he always knows. I like that it’s implied they spend a lot of time alone together. I like that Kirishima said that Bakugou has a broken way of talking, but he isn’t a bad guy and he can’t say he dislikes how Bakugou tends to make enemies left and right, and I like that Bakugou took his hand and smiled at him. I like that Bakugou never yells at him and always calls him by name and never ignores him, and I like that Kirishima calls him out on his rudeness but still likes him and supports him and follows him. I like their relationship the most because it’s the most important relationship for either of them, because it’s healthy and equal and happy, and I ship it because seeing it as romantic from where they stand now, to me, isn’t a huge step at all
And I like this ship above any other ship, even above the ships with other characters that share similar relationships as far as support and love goes, because they’re fun, and rowdy, and bright and loud and dynamic, and I have fun thinking about them interacting more than I have fun thinking about anyone else. And because they’re separately my favorite characters, and I think together they’d be the happiest they could ever manage, and I really, really want that for both them. To be happy with the person that understands them the most and loves and supports them the most, and with whom they can be the most comfortable and open and at peace. I think they could be home to each other, really. They’re a pretty obvious ship, to me haha
Anon said:My dude! Have you seen the trailer for the new Guillermo del Toro movie? Shape of water? It has some similarities to your shark kiri au!
I’ve read some things, yeah :O hadn’t really linked it to the AU tho, that’s an interesting observation !!!!
Anon said:the RR on baku’s wristband is for Red Riot, i assume? :)
YESSSS I tend to dress Bakugou in Red Riot merch a lot hahaha
Anon said:FRAN oml those bakugous??? Are amazing???? I love love love the lines so much they look so good and clean and sharp and I don’t have words but they’re just so so good the poses are amazing and ahhhhhh you did??? So good?? I feel like you’re constantly improving so much it’s amazing ahhhhhh I’m so in love w ur style I !!! Hope ur having a lovely day!!! Bless you
THANK!!!! YOU!!!! SO MUCH!!!!!!! Holy shit I’m crying !!!!!!! g o ds o
Anon said:Hi! I’m new to the BNHA fandom, and really love your art! I’m just starting to get into BakuShima and TodoDeku too, but just a couple days ago I read you say that MomoJirou are also pretty obvious about their gayness, including one time you saying you’re completely sure Kirishima and Jirou have a crush on those two canonically and, could I ask you to explain this to me? I’m all about it, this is not a complain! I just want to know more about them, thank you!
I wouldn’t say they’re canonically into them, but I do feel like, if I were to point someone they might be romantically into, that’s who I’d point to hahaha but yeah Jirou and Momo! They haven’t appeared much in canon so after all there isn’t too much behind the ship, more for shortage of scenes than anything else, but Jirou tends to blush a lot around Momo, she’s really protective of Momo, she’s pointed out how cute Momo is on more than one occasion, and their friendship is seriously cute - they’re always together? And when they’re not Jirou gravitates towards Momo a lot, you see her in the background waving at Momo or walking towards Momo really really often - of course all of these things can (and most probably are) just proofs of their being best friends! But it’s a good relationship I love a lot, which is why I ship it~

SPOILERS BELOW, LAST WARNING

-Satou and Kei are both blasted with dry ice, frozen, and smashed into tiny ice bits, but Kei regenerates from a leftover hand, and it’s implied in a trailer scene that Satou has also regenerated.
3. VERY DETAILED plot summary:
Coming soon, it’s taking me forever. :|  May be in a separate post. 4. Other thoughts –WOOD. CHIPPER. SCENE. – The entire Forge arc is very close to the manga version!! –There were a few Kei lines and Satou lines that were delivered in pretty much the same voice (tone of voice) as in the anime, though, that was pretty cool. –It was neat that Miyano Mamoru voiced Kei's IBM, too, since that's the same as the anime. – Apparently Polygon Studios did the animation for the IBMs!! I thought they looked pretty good.  They were vaguely color-coded so Izumi's and Kei's were slightly bluer, and Tanaka and Satou's were slightly red. (We didn't see BroBM or Okuyama's at all, not much of a surprise there) –YouTube dude: In the attempts to imitate the original story and include the media as a significant factor, a random YouTuber popped up a few times to serve as a public reaction to the news. This is significant to me because I just get this feeling that Shinya is hiding out somewhere and using YouTube to make a living...  but you can ignore me. They did briefly use the last name Nakamura for a separate news anchor. –There were a few spots that were even more pointedly violent than the manga, which surprised me. When Satou took on the SAT, [also omg I heard a really good pun in there, it was 'satto owaru', as in 1. Satou 2. SAT and 3. satto (I'll finish them off -quickly-)], at one point he grabbed a guy for shelter, regenerated, held a knife to the guy's throat, pulled out a grenade, stuck it under the guy's riot helmet, and then shoved him into his teammates where it exploded. They also had Kei cut off his hand for the decoy in the lab like the manga, vs. the anime leaving his shoes or something. And they had Satou fly the plane into the building... that's still hard to watch coming from the U.S. after 9/11.  They didn't show Satou on the plane at all, only after it had crashed. –I was rewatching some episodes of the anime with the friend who hadn’t seen it, and the action scenes when Satou comes to rescue Kei from the facility last for longer screen time in the live action than the anime. The action was definitely a focus.  There was also a cool background song that played at three(?) points in the movie (major action scenes), which started with the spoken words “Three, two, one, start! [enter action scene].” 5. Thoughts about each character: Kei: Kei felt a little lame to me. I think they did subdue Kei’s character a little bit. My friend that didn't like him for being a jerk in the anime did like him a little better in the movie.  As a fan of the K boys in the series, it did make me kinda sad, but overall I think the movie captured got the essence of the series without the details, so I'm pretty happy with it.  I felt a little bad for Takeru Satoh because I don’t think it was his best role. (I really enjoyed Ruroni Kenshin and Bakuman but Kei wasn’t a very expressive character, and not even that interesting when you tone him down a bit.) Eriko: She had freckles!  She was really cute!  And not quite as antagonistic towards Kei as in the manga/anime. Still somewhat antagonistic, but not as much. Her hair braids were thinner than I was expecting. Izumi: Izumi was perfect so that's all that really matters. Nothing more to say here, she was just badass and cute and didn’t get wrapped up in any unnecessary romantic relationships. If anything I really liked her interactions with Eriko. Tosaki: He get his 30 seconds of mints and saying "It's Tosaki, not Tozaki" – in general they kept in some small things like that that are particularly recognizable traits of the characters in Ajin, so that was nice.  They didn’t give Tosaki any sympathy.  Tosaki looked at Izumi laying on the floor with a knife in her stomach and said "I thought you were the one who was supposed to protect me" after he had to step in to help her fight Tanaka, so yeah, he still felt like a complete asshole.  I don’t think Tosaki was the one who sent Kei to the lab, but Kei comes and offers to work with them after neither of them have any more options (and the discussion is carried out in a much less tense situation than in the manga/anime). Kei still threatens to use his IBM to kill his fiancée if anything goes wrong. At some point Izumi comments that it’s unusual to see Tosaki working with anyone, and (I believe) he says that they have no other choice. Hirasawa: He wasn’t bald?  This was the only thing that bothered me ^^;  The other three gulf squad members were there and they looked vaguely like Manabe, Kuroki, and Suzumura, but not enough to tell who was who. Satou: I normally root for Kei, so it made me feel like I was watching it through the eyes of a Satou fan– Satou and his squad were super cool (I mean, I'll concede that they are in all forms of the story, but Satou was definitely the focus of this movie.) Satou being played by a younger actor was not a problem at all. He TOTALLY had the Satou atmosphere down. I had no objections whatsoever to that. About how old he is and whether he's American, they really didn't get into that at all. I think the movie did a good job at covering the basics, but they did have to leave out a lot to fit it within the time frame.  I was glancing through the movie pamphlet and I think in the director's interview it said they got Satou's actor to talk a little faster to help cut down the time XD Oh, but one of the small changes that felt huge to me was, so you know how they said Tanaka was only in the facility for 2 years? They said that Satou was in for 20, all the way from when he was an infant to when he was a young man. (Aka, sympathy points for Satou that he absolutely does not require.) Tanaka: Tanaka is way more competent, he can fly a drone and shoot VERY accurately. He’s made out not to be sympathetic. He doesn’t hesitate to shoot humans. We never get a scene where he and Izumi exchange memories. Takahashi/Gen: Takahashi and Gen were perfect and hilarious. They were being silly in the van before Forge, but I didn't see any drugs. (Maybe I didn't notice them, or them didn't have the time to make it a point...) Gen mostly served as the gunman to reset Takahashi and Tanaka. Okuyama: Okuyama still has his limp, and it even seems more severe because they have him using a wheelchair, although he can still move around with a cane.   6. Final status of each character: (MAY ALSO CONTAIN MANGA AND ANIME SPOILERS) Kei: Revived and likely still on the run Eriko: Safely back in the hospital? (I forget...) Izumi and Tosaki: still alive and still on the Ajin Management Committee Hirasawa and gulf squad: dead Satou: implied revived Tanaka: probably in custody of the Ajin Management Committee; unclear Takahashi, Okuyama: see Tanaka Gen: see Tanaka, and was never definitively killed and revived (could be human) Kai, Kou, Kotobuki, Ogura, Naomi Li, Almeida/Myers, Akiyama(firefighter), Sokabe, Shinya/Yuusuke: never in the movie When you look at the status of the characters, there’s no conclusive ending, but somehow or other the movie felt like it had resolved things by the end. That’s it!  I’m happy to take questions to fill out anything I missed, so just send me an ask~  I hope the movie becomes available internationally soon!
