So like...

I know Leverage second episode talks about the Iraq Reconstruction, and somewhere in there they mention that the US sent billions of dollars to Iraq and so I went and Googled it a bit just to see what they were talking about (this was so I could understand why it was important for the show to present it, and also I wanted accuracy to write my fanfic) BUT.

They sent over 56 billion dollars to a country overseas in three years. The reconstruction failed.

Thats 56 billion dollars trying to rebuild a post war country.

12 billion went missing or was unaccounted for.

I was like seven when this episode aired so I wouldn't have understood the nuance then, but I'm an adult now and wow that's just wild.
