I will never understand how TRR MC giving birth didn’t traumatize the hell out of her or give her any kind of health complications
-she was injured and FORCED into labor in the middle of a ball surrounded by important nobility and other guests
-during a palace lockdown with a known killer on the loose somewhere
-without an epidural or anesthesia of ANY kind
-and was in labor for HOURS on end with all of this in mind
Like girl are you okay??? How are you not traumatized as fuck? I would’ve died right there on the ballroom floor

< intro masterlist part 2 > (coming soon)
You wander around the woods, returning from another day of working in the city and coming closer and closer to your home when you start to feel uneasy, as if you’re not alone in the forest. You stop and listen, noticing the sound of footsteps close by. With careful steps you approach the sounds, noticing a head full of silvery hair between the trees and watching it carefully.
A man with an eyepatch, dressed in black leather clothes and carrying a long, sheathed sword on his hip. You monitor him carefully; his hands behind his back as he is gazing out into the treeline, he seems to be taking a stroll. But this deep within the forest?
You stalk him for a while, trailing his steps as you make sure to stay hidden. Too busy with staring at him you don't notice a branch on the ground, stepping on it and causing a loud *krack* sound.
The silver haired stranger turns around quickly, facing you and making eye contact. You know it's too late to hide now, as his lilac eye meets yours and a wicked smile forms on his lips
“Hello there, little one. Are you lost?”
“I could ask you the same thing.” You say, looking him up and down more closely now. He doesn’t look like someone that should be wandering this deep into the forest. You notice the tell-tale signs of a Targaryen. You’ve heard of them and noticed a few children with these features when you explored the street of silk once. But who exactly was this man standing in front of you right now?
His mouth twitches, eyes twinkling with mirth. “Oh, I am not lost, little lamb. Simply having a nice stroll to take my mind off the stress of ruling. May I ask who I have the pleasure of finding so deep in the woods?”
“No, you may not.” You answer, staying wary of the stranger. You’re starting to connect the emblems on his clothes and scabbard with the ones you’ve seen on royal guards patrolling the city before, this man must be one of the princes. “You should leave. These woods aren’t a place for a pretty prince like you.”
“My, my, my. So confrontational. Why the defensiveness, my beautiful little lamb? Are you hiding something?” He steps closer to you, his voice now has a hint of danger in it.
“No one wanders this part of the woods. You’re better suited closer to the city.” You say, trying to sound more polite than before, quickly understanding the prince might not appreciate the disrespect.
“Ah, yes, no one wanders this part of the woods. Well, that only makes me wonder how a pretty little lamb like you got herself as deep in here as I did. Unless, of course, you are not alone.” His eye leaves yours, scanning along the tree line before stepping closer once again.
“Relax, this is no ambush. Unless you keep on intruding on my space, then it just might.” You say sternly, hoping to play into his paranoia and get him to leave quickly.
“I do so wish I could believe you, little lamb.” His eye still scans over the tree line as his hand falls to the hilt of his sword. “How do you expect me to relax when a beautiful girl like you is all alone in the woods? You couldn’t have gotten this far without help.”
“I have. You don’t think all that dirt and tools on me are for decoration, do you?” You say, gesturing to the axe tied to your belt, knifes dangling off the bag you carry that’s strung over your chest.
“And what exactly did I catch you doing all alone in the woods, little lamb?” His voice is firm now, eye narrowing as he takes a closer look at you, trying to judge you.
You remain quiet for a few moments before deciding to answer truthfully. “I live here.”
“You live here, little lamb?” His eye scans over you once more. “YOU live in the woods?” His voice is filled with equal measures of surprise and disbelief.
“I do.” You say affirmingly. “And I’m not fond of guests.”
“A woman alone in the wild? No man to protect her? No family?” His disbelief is evident in his voice and expression. “I cannot imagine how a beautiful woman like you has endured out here.”
Upset at his words, you feel anger starting to boil deep inside of you. Women in this time are still property to be owned, another reason why you decided to live out here, away from society. “Cut the feigned sympathy. I live just fine out here.”
“But is it really living, little lamb? Living in the wild? Surely a woman of your beauty must desire the comfort and luxuries of civilization. Do you feel no desire to start a family, to have someone care for you and protect you?” His tone seems kinder now, almost caring, although his disbelief is still clear and you cannot shake the feeling of danger coming from him.
Suspicious at his invasive nature you raise an eyebrow. “What is this? A tea party to exchange gossip?”
“Oh no, little lamb. You are a most fascinating creature and you have sparked my interest. I am merely trying to find out more about who you are.”
“I’m not interested in conversation-“
“Now, now, little lamb, we’ve come this far already. It wouldn’t be very polite to turn down a crown prince like this.” His eye narrows, an obvious predatory hint in his voice as his hand tightens on the hilt of his blade. “It’s appalling for a citizen to turn down their crown prince, my dear little lamb.”
You tighten your jaw, nervous at the sudden turn this situation has taken but unwilling to comply with his orders. “I am not a citizen of yours-“
“Everyone is a citizen of mine!” His words are soothing with anger as his patience has reached its limit and he pulls the blade from its sheath. “Now come closer little lamb. I’ll help you back to the city where you belong, where it’s safe.” He begins to stalk towards you, his dark gaze fixed upon you.
You take a few steps back before you turn around and start running, using the the fact you know these woods like no other to lure him away from where your home is before skillfully outmaneuvering him in the thick forest, hiding successfully in a small cave. The silver haired man tries to follow you, you can hear him yell profanities and curse words as he struggles to keep up with you, eventually getting caught up in the thicket and falling behind. "Damn you!" Aemond shouts as he breaks free of the branches and finds himself standing in a clearing with no sign of the little Lamb in sight. Where the hell did she go? Damn this forest. Damn her.
He inelegantly shoves his sword back into its casing, taking a last long look around the scenery before begrudgingly turning around to make his way back to the city.
The rest of his day is plagued by thoughts about her, remembering every single detail about his encounter with this strange, wild little Lamb. She lives in the woods all alone, with no one to care for her? Surely, he thinks to himself, no one would truly want to do that.
She did seem awfully skilled at maneuvering the trees and avoiding my chase. Could she truly be completely alone? He wonders, staring into the lit fireplace of his chambers, his finger mindlessly tapping along the rim of the almost drained cup in his hand. His interest in the little lamb was definitely piqued. He would venture out into the woods to find her again once his duties allowed him to.
time skip / two weeks have passed
Things went back to normal after the encounter with the stranger, you didn’t see him again, but you did make sure to be extra cautious about your surroundings at all times, avoiding all travelers for the time being.
You’re sitting on a boulder in the river, only your ankles in the water as you sharpen your axe using whet stones from the river while waiting for the fish you caught this morning to finish smoking. You’re deep in thoughts as when you notice an unusual rustling of leaves behind you and catch a glimpse of the familiar silver head through the trees.
Here we go again.
The silver haired man had been stalking the Kingswood once again as he had done for several days since he encountered the strange little Lamb the first time. Searching for any hints as to where she lived, so that he could go back and speak with her again.
His hope was running low when then he finally saw her again, sitting in the river, tending to her tools. His heart skipped multiple beats, he couldn’t quite explain why he felt like this.
Still, she is the only one this far into the woods. No one around to protect her, just like when he had met her last time. This woman was a mystery he was most eager to solve. He slowly and deliberately stalked over to her, taking great care to be as sneaky and quiet as possible.
Even though you had noticed him immediately you keep focusing on your tool, pretending you hadn't noticed him as he approaches, hiding behind the last tree that provides him with cover before he would have to step out into the open.
"What is it you want?" You ask after a while, your voice loud and clear while your eyes are still focused on the task at hand. His attempts to remain hidden are more amusing than anything else.
The man was startled but quickly covers his reaction with his typical demeanor, standing proud with his hands behind his back as he steps out of the tree line and approaches the mysterious beauty carefully, as if trying not to startle her. She had quite a sharp ear. Although, he should have known better. If this little lamb had survived by herself in the woods, hearing the noises of the trees and animals was a skill she must have honed greatly.
Once he’s only a few feet away he stops abruptly, contemplating his choice of words before he speaks in a friendly yet stern manner. "You are quite perceptive little Lamb."
He remains quiet for a while. You’re still focused on your tool, not looking up, as you probe him further. "Speak. I know you've been following me for a while."
“I was simply fascinated with your lifestyle after our last encounter, that is all." He comes a few steps closer, enough to look at her properly, but not so close as to make himself a threat. "Why do you live out here, by yourself? Away from civilization and society?"
"Because I wish to do so." You say, now leaning forward to wash off the freshly sharpened axe in the river water.
"But is there no other reason little Lamb? You do not get... lonely? You do not yearn for society or friends? This forest is cold, dark, and dangerous." The mans voice seems filled with what seems like genuine concern for your welfare.
"The forests seem like that only to those who aren't welcome in them." You say, now looking up at him for the first time this conversation. "What do I get out of sharing my life story with you?"
Aemond's eyebrow quirked slightly at your words. Your words were not aggressive but they were not exactly kind or welcoming either. „You get to answer your crown prince a few questions that have been gnawing on his mind for a while. Who could say it wouldn’t be worth it?”
“I could say. The less people know about me, the better. Easier to stay hidden that way.”
Aemond stays silent after she says that, thinking over her words in his head. Stay hidden from what? From whom? What could make her feel that she must remain hidden... "Tell me, my little Lamb. Who are you hiding from?" Perhaps after finding out that one thing, he can put this obsession to rest.
"Men like you." You answer, now shifting your attention back to your tools, reaching back into the river to fetch out another whet stone to sharpen a big knife now.
"Men like me?" His eye narrows. " I am no threat to you. What could possibly have led you to believe that? You are alone so deep in the woods and I have not shown you any hostility... yet."
"No hostility?" You say laughing. "Chasing me with your sword was what then? A local friendship ritual I’m not familiar with?"
"Oh, I was simply trying to get you to stop and talk to me. That is all." He says, a small smile gracing his lips at her words. He found her laughter quite endearing.
“Didn’t work very well now, did it?”
"No I suppose not," His smile grows slightly, he finds this strange little Lamb's demeanor quite intriguing. He was never great at interacting with women, but this one seemed comfortable in his company, at least somewhat. Even if she was also incredibly untrusting and suspicious of him, or of men in general. He looks at her intently, savouring her smile as he knows his next words will wipe it right off her face again.
“I want to know more about you. I will not leave until you tell me more.” He says and as predicted, her cheeky smile gets replaced with a frown again.
“I told you, I won’t-“ he interrupts her quickly, almost pleading with her, “I know, I know. But I need to know. I cannot rest at night. I will not tell anyone about you. Whatever you tell me, it will not have any consequences, I swear it.”
You sigh deeply, pondering his words. You couldn’t care less for telling your story, the possibility of sharing too much lingering in the back of your mind. Then again, perhaps this is just what you needed. Sharing a bit of your true self with someone after having to carefully craft a fake persona and uphold it for the past two years. “Fine then. What is it you want to know?”
His eyes light up at that statement as he takes his time deciding which one of his many questions he should ask first. “Your accent, it seems out of place. Are you not from here?”
You immedily begin to regret your decision to talk to him, struggling to find a way to phrase the truth in a way it doesn’t sound too outlandish. “No, I am not. I come from a land far away, you wouldn’t know it.”
“Did you come alone?”
“Sort of. I came here with others but they… forgot me. Or maybe they are just unable to return. I wouldn’t know.”  You say, looking out into the flowing river as you remember.
“Forgot you? Why would your family just forget you?”
“They weren’t my family. They were… people I knew. We went here and they left, never to return, at least not until today. They probably told my family I died.” What had they told your family? You often wondered it. The changes of the seasons and moons made it easy for you to tell how much time had passed here, in this world. Did as much time pass back home? Was your family even informed of what truly happened or were they waiting back home for a sign of life that would never come, with no way of knowing your fate?
Aemond is quiet for a while, processing this information. “How long have you been here?”
“I’ve been here two winters already, the coming one will be my third.”
“THAT long?” He blurts out, mind racing. “You have survived here alone all this time, out in this forest, with no family or friends? How?”
A slight smile tugs at the corner of your lips, amused by his disbelief. “Yes, I have. I’m friendly with some of the farmers around here and some merchants. I was fortunate, really, that I was stranded here with a few tools and a bit of money.”
“That could not have been enough to make you survive here. The winters can be hard, as can be nature itself. I don’t know a single woman that would be able to survive like this even with all the tools in the world.”
“I suppose you’re right.” You shrug. This is your normal, all you knew for most of your life, you often forget just how unusual it really is. “I come from a family of farmers. We lived far out, away from civilization, and I learned a lot about nature that way. I am, or was, my parents only child. I spend many years of my childhood in the forest with my dad. He was an avid fisher and knew all the ways around the forest, while my mom taught me all about her knowledge of herbs. She was a healer of sorts.”
Your smile returns as she recalls all her fond memories of home. Oh, how you wished you’d never left the farm. “They bred, trained, and sold horses too. I was strapped to a saddle on my own horse before I could even walk.”
His face shifts from one of shock to one of sympathy. He could tell by your words and the tone your voice takes that you missed home dearly. “And you have no way back?”
“No.” You state plainly. Do you? Truthfully, you do not know, but you surely hope you do.
“Why? If I give you coin for passage, can you go back home?”
“I’m afraid its not that easy.” You huff, struggling to make up an answer to this question. “Unless they come get me, I have no way back. I… I’m done talking about this.” You say, now shaking your head.
He wants to press further but understands he shouldn’t, not if he’d like to keep you talking. “Well then… What are you planning to do here then? You can’t just stay out here forever.”
“Why not?” You conter. “I’ve gotten comfortable out here. I know my way around the woods and can survive quite well out here. I’ve come to appreciate my little life out here quite a lot, actually.”
“Is this really life or is this survival? What about finding a family of your own, what about children?”
You sigh deeply. “I may not have answers to all those questions yet, but I do now I’m content here for now. I have no duties here, no bills to worry about. I just need to figure out my next meal and get to enjoy nature the rest of the time with all the peace and quiet it offers me.”
The change of topic strikes a chord in you, one you didn’t realise was as sensitive as it seems to be. The prospect of having to live out the rest of your days in this time is one that seemed more and more realistic and the question of what you would actually do for the next twenty, forty, sixty years of your life was one burning in the back of your mind more and more frequently.
“I’m done talking for today. You may leave now.” You dismissed the prince, frustration growing inside you.
He is not happy about this, his expression shows this as much as the tone of his voice. “Leave? I just arrived. You can’t just send me away.”
“I do not wish to tell any more stories.” You state. Just as he begins to talk again you turn to face him quickly, looking at him for a few seconds before proposing a compromise. Maybe you just needed some time to gather your thoughts and calm the inner turmoil you can feel bubbling deep inside your chest right now. “How about this: If you can find me again, I will answer you more questions. Anything you want.”
His jaw clenches as he lets out a long sigh. This is not how he wanted this conversation to end but he could tell from her expression that she seemed exhausted and the prospect of getting to ask anything he wanted seemed tempting enough to agree. “Fine then. I will seek you out again soon, but I will not rest until I have all my answers. You must swear you will not avoid me again.”
“I swear it.” You answer, a reassuring smile on your lips. “Have a safe travel back, my prince.”
She had been speaking so freely all this time that hearing her address him properly caught him off guard for a moment. He stands still in place, watching her a bit longer, before begrudgingly turning around to leave after bidding a small goodbye.
As he walks away you turn around slightly, watching the swaying of his silver hair until it disappears completely between the trees. A long, deep sigh escapes your lips as you resume your tasks for the day, thinking about all the questions he asked and what you really wanted from your life now.
You were honest, you did love your life as it was now, but sometimes the solitude did get to you as well. A craving for the love and closeness your family had brought you. As much as you cursed the prince when you had first met him, maybe having his attention on you could be a good thing after all.
He thought his mind would be calmed after speaking to her but to his dismay, the opposite had happened. His head is filled with questions still and worse so, genuine worry about her wellbeing. Yes, his little lamb had survived well by herself, but the confirmation that she was truly alone out there was deeply unsettling to him. When he is laying in bed that night, he realised just how little he knew about her. He didn’t know where she lived – did she have a house or did she sleep under the stars? He had never even asked her name. What would it be? If she is from far away, it surely was exotic.
He keeps tossing and turning that night, the picture of her smiling face filling his mind, even more so when he closes his eye, as if he can see even clearer when the world isn’t distracting him. He tries to sleep but he swears he hears her laugh, still as clear and comforting as it had been when he heard it the first time. A sound so sweet it could lull him to sleep, if only there wasn’t the gaping emptiness next to him, reminding him of your absence, of the fact you’re all alone out there. If something happened to you tonight, would he ever find out? He could not bear the thought of it.
His night stays restless. He falls asleep again and again, dreaming vividly about the way your cheeks rounded when you smiled at him, about the freckles on your nose, the small dimples that appeared under your cheeks when you smiled and over your lips when you pursed your lips in dismay at another thing he said.
It was improper, he knew that much. For a prince, the heir to the throne, to be so enchanted by a forest dweller. Nevertheless, his heart skipped a beat every time he had laid his eyes on her. His mind went back to think about all your interactions at every chance it got, even in the midst of important meetings. He was a devoted and proper man; he knew better and yet, something about her felt so fundamentally right that a future without her seemed wrong.
When the first rays of sunshine broke though his windows he had made his decision. He would go to see her again and this time, he would not leave her behind. He could not. He will find her and bring her – well, where? Somewhere, anywhere he knows she is safe, where he knows he can find her whenever he wants to see her. He will figure it all out, he will find a way to make this work.
His feet soon carry him through the castle, unaware of where he is going until he finds himself in front of two wooden doors. The kings, his brothers, chambers.

[TRANSCRIPT BEGINS]
Slide 1: Title slide
When Comes the Dawn, book 1 of 2
Slide 2: wdym my fantasy story has to have magic?
Set in a fantasy world loosely set in the late antiquities/early middle ages., where everyone alive has the capability to harness magic. But actually using it requires strict and intensive education (and maybe a phD or 5) so most people only know very basic spells.
In Trinitarian belief, it’s believed that the goddess Meidther gave her blood to bring humans to life, and because of that people are imbued with magic. No living person can be alive without magic because it’s literally impossible! Wait -- the emperor of Aetier has a what????
So there’s this weird phenomenon where on very rare occasions, babies will be born without magic. Called “deadbornes”, these babies are incompatible with life and usually end up passing away minutes to days later. With one notable exception (we’ll circle back to this later)
Slide 3: the set-up
The Empire of Aetier (or if you ask any local: “the gods’ specialist little empire”) has a very unique way of handling succession in the imperial family. That way is murder. Just murder. All heirs plot against one another in a formal-informal system called “The King’s Game.” It’s supposed to be a competition of skills, but it’s kind of warped itself into state-sanctioned fratricide (NOT to be confused with a battle royale. That’s just uncouth /j)
The last King’s Game ended 22 years ago, when Dantalion vi Aetier defeated and killed his half-sister in battle. As the victor, he crowned himself the new Vasilier of the empire and proceeded to bring in a new golden age of prosperity for his people. And nothing is wrong and everything is beautiful, and there is no way this can go wrong
... right?
It all starts on the day Fenice was born... where instead of being the healthy and uber powerful child Dantalion expected her to be, Fenice turns out to be a deadborne. Deadbornes are considered harbingers of ill omens, and siring one is a terrible way to start your new reign. And even stranger still is the fact that Fenice...doesn’t die? Someone call the priest and ask them what does it mean if your death omen refuses to go away
Slide 4: The plot
The end of the Hesperia-Aetier war brought new lands under the Empire’s rule, and with it, new ways to gain power and prestige in the Imperial Court. The biggest thorn in the empire atm is that Hesperia’s last king is still wandering the lands somewhere, waiting to strike.
Imperessa Fenice vi Aetier (who’s still alive and kicking) just lost her mom in the war, and now she’s desperate to prove herself to her estranged father that she’s more than a disappointment and wasted potential. And what better way to do that than to succeed him as the next Vasilier?
The problem? Only those that undergo an Ascension are considered legitimate contenders for the throne. The other problem? Dantalion won’t give her one.
Fenice: “Trade offer: I receive my own province to rule and an Ascension. You receive the head of the deposed king of Hesperia.” Dantalion: “Deal. But you have to marry his brother though” Fenice: “What”
[in big, bold, italicized font] disclaimer: this is not a romance
Slide 5: The plot pt. 2
Now wedded and gifted with a province of her own to rule , Fenice actually has to set-up her own power base and follow through with her end of the deal to find and kill the runaway king, as well as extinguish the rebellions he’s so keen on igniting.
But the more she looks for him, the more she realizes he’s being backed by someone much more powerful. But who?
And on totally unrelated note, there seems to be some weird rumors going around of some guy claiming to be Aretos vi Aetier, the son of the very same person Dantalion killed during the King’s Game 20+ years back. But that’s obviously fake news. Surely no one will fall for it!

Husband and Father
Pairing: Nikolai Lantsov x reader
Summary: Nikolai Lantsov...husband and father...
Part 2 to Heir
You groaned softly as you stretched, reaching across the bed for your husband.  But when your hand met cool, empty sheets, you opened your eyes.  It was nearly 10 bells, but you’d given birth three weeks ago, and no one expected the Queen to be attending to her duties right now.  Slowly, you sat up and rose from bed, pulling on your robe–the sapphire blue silk robe embroidered with golden thread that had been imported from the Shu Han–that Nikolai had gifted you.
Since the birth of your daughter, Rosala, your husband had showered you with gifts: gowns, jewels, books, furs, delicacies from Kerch and the Wandering Isle.  All completely unnecessary, you said, but Nikolai was having none of it.  “You have given me the greatest gift I could ever want.  Let me try to repay you.”  It was pointless to argue, so you accepted his gifts gratefully.
Nikolai had taken to fatherhood well.  He refused to let servants raise his daughter, refused to let you do all the parenting.  When Rosala cried in the middle of the night because she was hungry or needed changed, Nikolai got up as often as you, more than happy to rock her to sleep or give her a bottle.  He would attend council meetings with his daughter swaddled in his arms when you needed to rest, and his council found it so endearing when the King would coo at the Princess when she stirred, or asked for her opinion on a trade deal.
Rubbing sleep from your eyes, you made your way into the nursery that adjoined your sitting room to find your husband in the rocking chair, Rosala cradled in his arms.  You lingered in the doorway so you could watch Nikolai and your daughter, and what you observed made your heart melt.  “And then, the beautiful maiden denied the Prince’s request for courtship for the second time.  But the Prince didn’t mind.  For the maiden was so very beautiful and so very kind, that the Prince was willing to wait forever for her.  And the third time he asked for her hand, she accepted.”
You stepped into the nursery, and Nikolai’s eyes lit up.  “My love,” he greeted, torn between looking at his beautiful bride and his precious daughter.  “I thought you were still asleep.”  “I was,” you responded.  “But I woke up and found my darling husband missing.”  Nikolai smiled.  “I see.  Well, someone wanted her breakfast, and we wanted to let Mommy rest.”
It was almost too much, the love you felt for your family; the love of your life and the child you’d wanted for so long.  Nikolai gently shifted Rosala to one side and held out his other arm. “Come here, lovely,” he said, and you carefully settled yourself in his lap, careful not to jostle your daughter.  When you rested your head on his shoulder, Nikolai sighed happily, tightening his hold on you.
“You know, the Royal Astrologers say the world is quite large, but I’ll have to write to them and tell them they’re wrong.”  “Nikolai, have you lost your mind?”  “Quite the opposite, my darling.  You see, I have the entire world in my arms.  You and Rosala, you’re my entire world.  There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for you, my girls.”  You felt tears pricking at your eyes, but before they could dall, Nikolai wiped them away.
“What did I do to deserve someone like you?” you asked, and your husband kissed you sweetly.  “You are you, my dearest.  That’s all you ever have to do.”  You kissed him again, and a few moments later, Rosala stirred, crying just a bit.  “Oh, is someone jealous?” Nikolai cooed, soothing your daughter.  “I know you love your Mommy, but I love her too, and someone’s been stealing all of her attention lately.  You wouldn’t know who that is, would you, sweetheart?”
You laughed, kissing your husband’s cheek.  “You are too much,” you said, and he laughed as well.  “I am a gem, and you know it.”  After a few more minutes, you extricated yourself from his lap, lifting your daughter from his arms.  “As much as I love having both of you to myself, your council will have your head if you’re late to the meeting.”  Nikolai sighed, standing and kissing your forehead.
“You’re right.  Can’t I just tell them to fuck off?  I’m the King.”  “You could, but then they might not sign your legislation if you do that.”  Your husband groaned, kissing your forehead again and pressing a delicate kiss to Rosala’s forehead.  “I’ll see you later, my loves.  Don’t miss me too much.”  You smiled, accepting Nikolai’s kisses.  “I’ll do my best.”  Nikolai kissed Rosala’s forehead once more before leaving, knowing if he didn’t, he’d be with you and your little girl all day.
***
You stood before the floor length mirror, staring critically at your reflection.  There was a ball tonight being thrown in your honor, but you couldn’t bring yourself to get ready.  Your body didn’t look the same as it had nine months ago, and while reasonably you knew that was normal, natural, you couldn’t help but dislike what you saw.  You were a Queen; regal and graceful, and Queens did not have an extra pouch of skin on their bellies.
Nikolai entered the room, wearing his military dress uniform, his medals and sashes adorning him, and your heart twisted.  He was so beautiful, he always had been, and you envied him.  His body hadn’t been forever changed, his stomach didn’t bear angry red stretch marks.  “My darling, why aren’t you ready?”  You slowly turned to face him, and Nikolai saw your upset at once.
“Y/N, my love, what’s the matter?”  “I don’t look the same,” you said, and your husband came to stand before you, taking your hands in his.  “My…stomach is flabby, I have stretch marks, I don’t look the same as I did before, Nikolai, and I don’t like it.”  He took a deep breath, wishing he could take your insecurities away.  “No, you don’t look the same,” he agreed, but before you could go too far down a rabbit hole, he went on.
“You carried our daughter in your body for nine months, Y/N.  You created an entirely new person,  you kept our little Princess safe and warm until she was ready to meet us, and you did a beautiful job.  Yes, your body is different, but you are by no means ugly or undesirable or any less of my beautiful, perfect, darling bride than you were before Rosala was born.  Y/N Lantsov, there is absolutely nothing that could ever make me love you less or want you less, and if I ever say otherwise, please slap me, because that means I’ve lost my mind.”
There were no words to describe the overwhelming love you felt for your husband, and you buried your face in his chest, arms around his waist.  “You are a force of nature, my love,” Nikolai said.  “A beautiful, perfect force of nature.  And I won’t let anyone say or think anything negative about you–even you.  Now, shall we get our radiant Queen ready for her party?”
You lifted your face from his chest, smiling through tears.  “I love you so much, Nikolai.  Thank you.”  “Of course, my lovely.  I love you too.  Should we do the pink silk or the blue?”  You laughed, watching as Nikolai rifled through your wardrobe.  Your maids entered to dress you, and when they were done, you felt nearly as beautiful as your husband always said you were.  A pink silk gown, your hair curled and tumbling down your back, a tiara pinned in your hair.
Nikolai found you in the nursery, leaning over the edge of the bassinet, watching Rosala sleep.  “And here I thought you couldn’t get more beautiful,” he said, catching your attention.  You smiled at him over your shoulder.  “One day you’ll run out of compliments.”  “Never.  I always have a few ready.  Ready to go?”  “I’m afraid to leave her,” you admitted, and Nikolai nodded, coming to stand behind you.
“I know.  But we have her nannies here, and three Healers on standby.  If anything happens–which it won’t–they’ll come get us.  I promise you, everything will be fine.  Now let us celebrate you.”  You squeezed Rosala’s hand and turned, facing your husband.  “Alright.  But if I get even the barest hint that something’s the matter, I’m high-tailing it back here.”  Nikolai laughed as he took your arm.  “If that happens, I’ll race you back here.”

Hi, sorry for my English, it's not my language and I'm using Google translator, I hope it's enough for you to understand me. I really like your writing and I had an idea that I think if you wrote it would make it good, where Viserys did not marry Alicent but Laena, but they never had children so Daemon really took over as heir to viserys on the condition that he would marry Rhaenyra, they marry and Jace and luke are Daemon's children. Rhaenyra is pregnant with Joffrey and to celebrate Viserys plans a great banquet that will last days and all the lords are invited. At the party Daemon meets Lord Tyrell's daughter and falls deeply in love with her and takes her as his second wife, Rhaenyra is not satisfied, but does nothing about it. As married times go by, Daemon loves the reader much more and favours her children, and Rhaenyra is jealous

Pairing: Daemon Targaryen x Fem Chubby Tyrell! reader
Author’s note: hello, don’t worry, Google translation does a good job, oh thank you, it touches me a lot that you appreciate. Usually I don’t write by specifying the reader in a specific noble house but by writing the reader in Tyrell, I don’t specify the origin of her mother so that she can come from where you want. Hope you like it. Feel free to leave your opinion on how your request was written, anonymously or not, I just really enjoyed writing for your request.
Author’s Note 2: I based myself on the age gap between Jace, Luke and Joffrey of the books (thanks Wiki) and by writing «young woman» I aim big, from early twenties to early thirties.
 trigger warning: English is also not my mother tongue, so i'm sorry if there is mistakes.
The sun was setting over the gardens of Highgarden, summer was just beginning, the ambient heat was comforting, the flowers covered most of the soils, trees and shrubs of the gardens. The spring months had been very grey and rainy, several trees had large fruits full of water, several servants were responsible for the gathering, they went to work all summer long so that the kitchens could serve them fresh or keep them by turning them into jam or by naturally drying them. They were not the only ones working in the castle. Young squires trained in the animate me with various weapons, whether it be the sword, the fighting axe, the mass or the bow, while others trained to ride a horse, some having never climbed to the screens. But they all worked far more than usual.
The day had been pleasant a part of the Tyrell family was staying in one of the largest gardens, your uncle Lord Matthos Tyrell successor of the house, accompanied by your father were chatting under a large umbrella, composed of wood, linen fabrics and some pieces of warm colors. Lord Tyrell’s wife and your mother sat beside them, watching the younger members of the family played and heckled while you sat under one of the trees, reading, while your young cousin Harlan learned his lessons.
Matthos was talking with your father about the royal invitation, it must have been to announce some important things for sending a messenger. For a month in the windbreaks, a great storm broke over the region of Reach, the violent wind shook the branches of the trees, the younger ones folded under the breath, the beasts had to have hurried into their stables and henhouse. Luckily, the rivers had not yet come out of their beds, fortunately for the villages nearby.
In this storm, a herald accompanied by two knights rode to Highgarden, the sound of the clogs in the mud was barely audible, the breaking rain masked largely the surrounding sounds. The glimmers emanating from the castle windows were barely visible in the rain, which like a beacon guiding the messenger and his escort. At the time of passing the pat of the front door the three people were soaked to the bones, the servants had directly welcomed them and taken them to one of the large rooms of the castle, Lord Matthos Tyrell had joined them to discuss.
This is how your uncle spoke to your father about a scroll in his hands, protecting it from the sun.
“Viserys seems to get crazier and crazier with time.” Matthos sighed.
“Who would not, in his situation many would not have held.”
“Marry your own daughter to your brother? Celebrate future births?”
“The Targaryen are different, he had to consolidate his grip on the throne.”
“According to the Hightowers, Viserys accepted the marriage of Rhaenyra and Daemon, although the council is against it.” Matthos giggled for a moment. “He could have refused.”
Your father sighed, he understood that his brother reacted like this, the iron throne was very coveted, Viserys of his first union with Queen Aemma had not had a son, her death had mourned more than the Targaryen, She was appreciated and seemed to radiate during her presences. The fact that the king remarried was not a surprise, although the age of the very young bride was much talked about. At first, the lack of birth reassured the nobles and the people that Lady Laena’s age was inappropriate for marriage. In the coming years, this lack of birth slowly began to worry, perhaps the young queen could not give birth. Murmurs and rumours then began their way into the kingdom. What would happen when Viserys died? Who would take the throne? The houses that had passed their allegiances could equally break it, it risked imploding the kingdom. Rhaenyra, as the only child of the king, could assert his birthright on the throne, but none of the great Lords and the people were ready for a queen to rule the kingdom. Daemon as a brother of the king, was the direct heir, but having a bad reputation among the people and especially the nobles, was a complex choice. The union of Daemon and Rhaenyra a few years ago was intended to strengthen their «legitimacy» to the throne. Although many noble houses did not like it, the people were wary, for this marriage did not guarantee a long peace full of prosperity.
"Brother, why don’t you go to these festivities?"
“I have to deal with the requests from the villages, don’t forget, I don’t have time to go and celebrate.”
“I would take the applications directly, you could take the opportunity to find an fiance to my tender niece.”

Your father sighed, it was true that you had not yet engaged, it is not that you had no young and not so young men who wanted to court you, it is that for your father, you were still his little daughter, even though you are a young woman. He promised to think about it not wanting to tarnish this sunny day with a heated discussion, even though he knew that Matthos would repeat the question to him several times, until the moment your father snapped.

That’s how a week later, a carriage carrying the flower of the Tyrell house, headed for King’s Landing.
It was the first time you traveled to King’s Landing, you were only a child at the death of Queen Aemma, you had kept the blurred memory of your Uncle Matthos and your aunt being gone for several weeks, and that before their return Highgarden had become silent, for a few days. Your nanny had vaguely explained to you that it was customary to mourn for important people whether we knew him or not. It intrigued you, but you quickly forgot about the sadness, wanting to play with the other children present.
At the time of the king’s remarriage, you still remained at the castle, just as you remained for the various festivities that took place at the Red Keep, Highgarden satisfied you, you did not understand why the other ladies and young lady wanted so much to go there. Your nanny had repeatedly explained to you the misadventures that could occur in the capital, how the streets were covered with vermin and dirt. That this was no place for a girl.
Yet when you looked at the landscape through the screened opening, you could see large walls with black and red coats of arms. With difficulty you tried to see how the streets of the city really were, painfully observing colors and movement, you could not fully observe the life teeming around you.
When the carriage stopped, you waited to get out, the heel sounds of the boots echoed in the outer courtyard of the Red Keep.
Servants were the first to greet you, taking your luggage to the rooms that you would occupy during the festivities. A knight with a white beard and well cut came to greet you, explaining that the king being very absorbed by the preparations of the festivities apologized for not coming to welcome you in person.
Your father avoided giving a harsh answer to the knight, and thanked him. The castle never had him again. Perhaps it was due to not being at home or having to be always on guard whether it was for behaviour or words understood in the wrong way.
While your father joined the other lords already present, your mother offered to give your respect to the Queen, which simply meant, to say hello to her and luckily have a little conversation.

When you saw Queen Laenna, you were surprised by her look, it is true that you found her very beautiful, but her look was filled with a kind of melancholy, like a bird enclosing in a cage, a golden cage. With your mother you greeted him, exchange a few sentences about your visit, asking how she lived the future festivities. You were lost in her purple look almost erase.
"Is it true that you rode the greatest dragon in the world?"
This question had escaped you, you had heard lords and lady speak of it since Laenna had begun to ride the dragon. His words come out of your mouth, without thinking about all the protocols that reigned in the Red Keep.
To your question a kind of spark lit up the queen’s gaze.
« It’s true, even though I haven’t been able to do it for a few years.”
“Oh, that’s too bad, it must be extraordinary.”
“Much more.”
When you left your interview with Laenna, your mother scolded you for a few moments, it was not a good idea to speak so openly to the queen without her consent. You have a few seconds to apologize before continuing your way through the corridors of the Red Keep.

To say that the future festivities related to Princess Rhaenyra’s pregnancy were great was an understatement. During the day everything seemed calm, several lords and lady were chatting in the corridors and gardens of the castle, but on the first night of the banquet, calm gave way to fun, alcohol and food.

In the corridors of the castle several jugglers entertained the guests who waited before their entrances in the huge banquet hall. In the gardens, fire-eaters were getting ready, as was the band of musicians who accompanied them.
At the festivities they had attended, such a show were not common. And it was only the first day. That night, the houses present were to present their respect and congratulations to future parents, while wearing the colors of his own home.
The entrance was generally spanned starting with the noblest houses, the vassal houses followed them, with a few exceptions.
“Don’t forget what I told you Y/n.”
“I know, mother, don’t speak without permission, don’t look them in the eye because it could be understood as disrespectful.”
“And above all, try to have fun, my dear child.” Your mother took your hand and gently squeezed it.
Your parents had explained to you that it would be interesting for you to get closer to a single young man from one of the houses present, whether they are the noblest houses or not.
If the little shows in the corridors had caught your attention, the size of the banquet hall did just as much. Many guests were already installed, music was audible through conversations. A large chandelier and many fabrics raised the ceiling and spaced far enough so that it did not catch fire.
The Tyrell House entered before the Hightower House, while you were waiting you exchanged a few words with the king’s daughter, Alicent, she seemed nice to you, she was talking about her recent marriage, with a young man from a vassal house in the Vale, This helped to strengthen the ties shaken when Prince Daemon’s first wife died. Although the agreement seemed cordial to you, Alicent was holding her hands, looking at them you could see that she passed her thumbnail on the skin surrounding her other nails.
The royal table, which was located on a platform, allowed them to observe their guests although it was not very high, two markets hardly separated them from the remains of the guests. Your father stood in front of you and your mother. After bowing in front of the people present, your father exchanged a few words with King Viserys. During this time, you watched who was sitting at the table, with your back straight and your head held high, watching from left to right. There was a man wearing the emblem of the king’s hand on his chest, his beard gray, and his look was hard and you seemed calculating, if this man was indeed the father of the sweet Alicent, she seemed to have held more of her dead mother than of her father. The Velaryons were standing on her left side, they seemed to you to be the queen’s parents, for she separated them from the king and spoke to them much more openly and seemed to be out of her good mood. The king in the center of the table seemed to you to be older than the age he had. He was starting to lose hair, his complexion was more greyish, almost a sick complexion. To the left of the king was a young woman barely older than you, her plump belly and silver hair made you understand that it was the king’s daughter, Princess Rhaenyra. You did not dwell on the details, for your gaze was like drawing by the person standing next to you.
A Targaryen, dressed in black was standing in his chair, one hand resting on the table. He didn’t seem so old to you, you looked up from his hand up to his chest, slowly going up to his neck, his jaw, his thin lips to finish on his eyes, by the distance you couldn’t see them clearly, but you imagined eyes of a bright purple. His hair was short and tied to the back of his head. Prince Daemon seemed even more attractive to you than the lady could say in the halls.
His gaze was fixed on something, it took you a few seconds to notice that he was staring at you, in an instant you felt like undressing under his gaze, perhaps it was because of your dress, Tyrell colors with a more plunging neckline than the rest of the women’s outfits present in these places, or was it due to her look that seemed to detail you, from head to toe, while gently licking her upper lip. You felt a gentle warmth mounted in your body as your hands became slightly moist, your mother pulled you out of this exchange by accompanying you to the table where you were installed.
On the first days of the banquets, all were feasting, drinking and eating much more than they should. Lord Baratheon had two nights during which he ended up being escorted by guards, so drunk that he fell trying to walk. Rhaenyra had only appeared at the opening banquet, locking himself in his room for the rest of the festivities.
The feeling of being observed had lasted all along the great meals. To try to forget it, you danced with several young lady, of one Alicent. Some less imposing house lords had asked for a dance that you had accepted. Although more chubby than the average woman present, you did not want to close on yourself, remaining smiling, you had confidence in your natural charm, but a part of you said that the name Tyrell was not at all at interactions, The young lords who had to find a wife did little to spank the fine mouths if their future wives were of noble lineage, you paid little attention, wanting to see the good side of things, you had fun and it was enough for you.
On the fourth night of festivities, you wanted to stay in the gardens, although livening, the places were quieter than the banquet hall. The feeling of being observed was for several hours faded, you were relaxing sitting on one of the benches of the largest garden, some knights were guarding the place, and some couples were watching the shows of the fire-eaters.
You were suddenly taken by a chill, it was not because of the light breeze that was blowing, it was even pleasant to you compared to the heat and dampness of the banquets, no other thing was going on you were sure.
"Lady Y/n. "
A man’s voice made you turn away from your contemplation of the place. You directed your head in the direction of sound, your heart missed a beat.
Prince Daemon was a few meters away from you. He was dressed in black boots and pants, and his jacket had scaly details and thin dark red trim. Her hair was always tied to the back of her head.
“Pr… Prince Daemon.” You were caught off guard.
"Don’t you like these festivities?" A smirk was attached to his lips.
“They’re nice, but I find the gardens more welcoming, so it’s good to be a little quiet.”
“My brother enjoys this kind of activity.”
"And you not my prince?" You could not hold this question.
“I’m less likely to like them, less strutting around.”
A relative silence settled in, not seeing him moved, you wondered why the prince was in the gardens, Daemon watched you, you did not look like the other lady, something in you had held his gaze, Maybe it’s your confidence, maybe it’s your less-dressed clothes. To put an end to this silence and its administration, which was beginning to make you nervous, you asked him the first question that came to your mind.
“Is it true that you fought the crabs for three years? “
You opened your eyes, you forgot the manners, and addressed yourself to the prince. You lowered your head gently, murmuring an excuse. Daemon rie slightly.
"It is true, why such a question, Lady Tyrell?" He leaned his head gently to the side.
“We heard about the war at the Highgarden, but never in detail, one day you were at war and suddenly you had won.”
“I can tell you what happened.”
“With pleasure, my prince, but… you don’t have to.”
Daemon did not answer you, he just approached to sit beside you. For several hours you listened, how the crabs had become dangerous for Westeros, how the years of war had unfolded to end with the king’s decision to come and help them after three years of war. You did not refrain from commenting on the king’s behavior, apologizing afterwards to Daemon, you did not have to speak thus of the crown. He smirk more at your words, but does not correct you, simply continuing to tell you his story.
The first glimmers of daylight appeared on the horizon, Daemon was staying by your side all night, chatting or just watching the shows. His presence although at first a little stressful, was almost comforting, his body letting pass a pleasant heat. The hours seemed like minutes. It is almost against your heart that the day rose, you had to go back to the castle, not to arouse the anxiety that might have your relatives not to see you in the morning.
On the following days and nights, Daemon seemed more present, taking part in a discussion with your father on subjects that escaped you. The prince offered you walks in the castle, offering you books for your future reading, Daemon was even interested in your life in Highgarden, leaving you little time to be really alone. In the rare moments when he was not with you, you had offered to keep company with the queen before Alicent, with whom you had made a gentle friendship, persuaded you to visit Princess Rhaenyra. Part of you felt guilty for spending all that time with her husband, when he should have stayed close to her. But another felt flattered by the prince’s attention.
If the gaze of the queen seemed to be off, the gaze of the princess was filled with boredom, two young children with silver hair were playing in her room, a servant was watching them. Rhaenyra was sitting by the window, one hand laying on the sell. You stood by the door while Alicent saluted her, you could observe from their interactions that they had been friends for a long time. Alicent took a few minutes before he introduced you.
“Rhaenyra, this is Lady Y/n Tyrell, we have sympathized the last days. »
As much as the moments passing by Daemon had seemed to you to be fast, the one spending with Rhaenyra seemed endless. You learned the children’s names, and looked at them from afar, you smiled softly at their children’s squabbles. You kept a cordial conversation with the princess, though your heart beat faster than usual. A presentiment became more and more present in you, the one that the princess knew of moments spent with Daemon.
The weekend was quite classic for such festivities.
The last banquet was the most grandiose, fruits and vegetables from Essos were present, dishes flavored with varied spices whether meat or fish, wine reigned on the tables, the buckets were always filled, The musicians were from islands near Essos, which played music with different rhythms and tones than the one usually played in Westeros. Although according to the region the music was different each corner of Westeros had different styles.
At the beginning of the evening, you stood between your mother and Lady Alicent, exchanging opinions on the meal, the guests and the music. From the corner of your eye you could glimpse the king’s table, the guests who sat there had changed from one evening to the next. Moving from close family to the closest advisors and allies of the Targaryen. Only Viserys and Laenna were present every evening. Rhaenyra only had to attend the opening, Viserys explaining that the young mother had to rest.
As the hours went by and the people present began to dance, the centre of the room gradually began to fill with people. Contemplating the group of people dancing, their movement gradually becoming synchronized, you did not pay attention to the people behind you.
"Lady Tyrell, will you accept this dance?"
A young Lord of a vassal house of the Lannisters had just spoken, his voice in grave tones had surprised you, turning on a young man with dark brown hair, and amber eyes, you accepted, he was not unpleasant to look at and courteous. Your parents were staring at you two, wondering if they had planned this meeting.
The dance did not last all the music. Daemon was watching you from the beginning of the meal and the young Lord he called «asshole» in his thoughts, irritated him, he had passed several times behind you before talking to you and the way he had to watch you make Daemon want to tear his eyes out. It is annoyed that Daemon rose towards the dance floor.
When you changed partners, you found yourself face to face with the prince, he, who had not danced all week, began to dance with you.
A dance was followed by a second, then a third. Viserys was not positive to see his brother dancing with a young woman other than his daughter. He sighed, exasperated by the actions of Daemon, Otto had transmitted to him the rumors of the prince’s adventures with the young lady of the house Tyrell. He knew Daemon well enough to know that his brother had something in mind and that he would do anything to get it.
You didn’t finish the night at the banquet, your feet were getting sore and fatigue was working its way through your body. You told your parents and Alicent that you were going to your room. Your parents followed you, fatigue also took them.
On the morning of your departure, you accompanied your parents to greet one last time King Viserys and Queen Laenna, and passed your greetings to the young princess. Daemon was not present, it upset you a little but did not reveal.
This annoyance went away when you arrived home. You were welcomed by several servants as well as members of your family. In your room stood a small pile of letter and parchment saddled. Surprised you asked the maid who was standing by your side, when they had arrived.
“They started when you were in King’s Landing, my lady. Recently they’re crows coming.”
When you took the first parchment, you noticed the Targaryen seal, opened it and noticed a beautiful healing handwriting. It contained a poem about flowers and dragons. Gradually opening the letters you noticed that it was the same writing and that everything was signed in the same way. The same first and last name. Daemon Targaryen. Touched you began to write a letter to the prince, you reread his letters one after the other. Your heart was palpitating, a silly smile sticking to your face. In one of the last letters received the prince promised to go through Highgarden. You began to look forward to this day.
A first visit was made two weeks after the end of the festivities, Daemon had arrived at the back of Caraxes. Your uncle Matthos was pleased to have a member of the royal family come to visit, even though it was Prince Daemon. You stayed in the gardens most of your time, watching the dragon lying in the gardens. Flowers surrounded the animal and contrasted with its red color.
"One day I will take you on his back." Daemon’s promise was written in one of his letters.
This visit was followed by several others, all longer and longer. Most often you and Daemon stayed in the gardens or in the library of the castle, he offered you at his arrival several jewels, rings, earrings and necklaces. Very quickly the end of the year pointed his nose, the leaves of the trees fell and the temperature dropped, this was nothing to compare to the temperatures of the north, but having lived all your life in the south of Westeros, the climate was cold. Daemon had arrived several days before, he intended to ask your father for your hand. Valeryen tradition didn’t stop him from having a second wife, he just had to be persuasive enough.
The news of Rhaenyra’s delivery arrived by raven, Daemon received the message, but did not return to the capital, It was only two days later when a raven arrived to announce the good news of the birth of Prince Joffrey and of his ans Rhaenyra good health that Daemon go. Not without an answer.
Your father agreed to give your hand to the prince. He was not afraid of the Targaryen, but he had heard of the obsessions that the prince might have and that he did everything to get what he wanted. Your father was just hoping the princess wouldn’t take it too hard.
Rhaenyra sat on one of the armchairs of his room fulminaient of the absence of Daemon, it was not the first time that he did not attend a birth, three years in the screen, for the birth of Luke, he stayed in the corridor, for Luke, he had remained with Caraxes. But for Joffrey, he was not even present in the city, no raven had arrived with an answer. When Daemon walked through the door, he walked towards the baby, posing in the arms of one of the nannies, he looked at him, detailing his face, noticing a silver-haired birth. He took him in his arms, without even greeting his wife.
« You were with that slut.” Rhaenyra’s tone of voice was dry.
“Don’t call her that in my presence.” Daemon looked up at Rhaenyra. “She will be my second wife.”
Rhaenyra understood, her husband, her uncle, was indeed in love with another young woman, she who thought that he would leave her before the end of the banquet, had been mistaken. She no longer spoke to him about the day, she was locked up in her room with the children. Viserys was more than despair of Daemon’s actions, he had just been a father for the third time and yet his spirit was elsewhere. Daemon explained to him that there would be no favouritism, that he would like them fairly.
But he was lying, whether it was to his brother or himself.
The ceremony of your marriage took place in the temple of Baelor, blessed by the septs, your house had asked to make a dress in a very «Tyrell» style, your dress, was less voluminous than that of the princess Rhaenyra at her wedding, the fabrics that made up the dress were fabrics of the greatest weavers of Reach and Essos, in the colors of your house, the nexkline was not too provocative, it just emphasized perfectly your chest, as well as the cut of the dress, which bent your silhouette. She also tackled fine embroidery, golden threads.
The marriages of the royal family attracted many people, the lords and lady of the noblest houses had been the first present, with a part of the people amassing at the entrance of the temple.
But this ceremony although official was not enough for Daemon, this ceremony had taken place to please your family and the king, but the ceremony that followed, before the eyes of some witnesses was much more official for the prince. The Valeryen ritual legitimately united you against Rhaenyra who had only the marriage of the seven to satisfy herself. This ceremony is the consequence of gossip, not for the least subtle. For the most part, they were insulting to your physique and your home. "It seems that the prince got her pregnant." "Did you see how big she is? Oh yes, she was already fat." Add giggles and you’ll only get a sample of the hallway gossip.
At the beginning of your marriage, Daemon visited you almost every night, the others he stayed with Rhaenyra, you could feel the princess’s gaze being more and more present and heavy, Your only ally in the Reed Keep was Queen Laenna and a surprising few knights of her close guard, from the young Sir Criston Cole. In the moments when Daemon was not with you, you visited the queen, although her visits were rare and spaced out.
The news of your pregnancy, did not surprise people, the prince ravages you almost every night, it was inevitable that you waited, by chance, so quickly, your first child. Rhaenyra already spoke to you very little, the communication was for a moment interrupted, Laenna ordered to her closest guards to watch on you and the unborn child. Your only refuge in the castle was the gardens that reminded you of home, Sir Cole working for your safety. He seemed to hold a kind of resentment towards the princess but you did not question him, for the first time, you had the feeling that the answer would not please you.
At the first delivery, Daemon was in the hallway of your room, he watched whether Cole who was posted at the entrance, Queen Laenna and Viserys were at his side, only the princess was again absent.
“Daemon she will be fine, she’s strong.”
Laenna tried to reassure him, but Daemon, listening to your incessant cries, was nothing more than a mixture of feelings, of anger towards the mestres, of fear, that something bad happened to you or the baby, of the joy of being a father again.
"DAEMON!!"
Your husband looked at the wall that separated him from your presence. For the first time in a long time he felt fear, true fear. With his heart racing to break everything, he held himself back.
“Go to your wife, Y/n needs you.” Viserys have spoked.
It was with trembling hands that Daemon entered, under the gaze of Sir Cole, the mestres present watched him astonish, never of the other births had he disdained entering before the end of the delivery.
“My Prince? The delivery is not over.”
Daemon was aware of it, if anything happened to you, he would be in the front row to kill the incompetent mestres.
The painful delivery ended after a very long day. You were exhausted, perspiration dripped from your forehead, the sheets were in places tearing so much that you had held them forcefully, you asked to carry your child, even though you were exhausted, you wanted to know that your child was well.
Y/s/n was your first son, he had purple eyes and a silver hair birth. Daemon placed a dragon egg in the cradle of Y/s/n. He stayed by your side for a full week, forcing the king’s advisors to wait in the corridor for an interview or a simple visit. Your parents, accompanied by Lord Matthos Tyrell and your aunt, were the first outside the Red Keep to visit you, Alicent followed closely, accompanied by her future husband.
Congratulations came from all over the kingdom, the birth of a child out of marriage between Targaryen was better seen. Gifts from all Westeros were sent, far more than Rhaenyra had ever had.
If the princess had never agreed to Daemon’s remarriage, she had not openly explained it to her family members. But the more her husband changed, the more a feeling of jealousy devoured her. She thought she was the only person for whom Daemon would remain faithful, she had believed him when he promised her that she would remain his priority. Now Rhaenyra no longer believed Daemon. In the vengeful years, her husband showed signs of favoritism, spending his days first teaching Y/s/n the High Valyrian, then defending herself while it was she who taught Jace and Luke the Valyrian. Joffrey grew up and although Daemon was present, he took him less and less for his father, Sir Strong who visited the princess gradually became a surrogate father. Rhaenyra ends up leaving an ultimatum to Daemon, one winter evening, she was waiting in the gardens, everyone knew that this was your refuge.
The same morning you were with your family in the dragon pit, Y/s/n was learning to lead d/n (dragon name), Daemon was more than proud of his children, your last-born, Baela was in your arms, you watched as your son’s eyes lit up in front of the little dragon following his requests, Caraxes was near, your twins born of the second pregnancy, caressed the great red dragon. Caraxes let a roar of satisfaction pass.
This warmth contrasted with the icy wind of the gardens, winter was at its zenith, the dormant flora, reminded you of Highgarden, which at times you missed.
Sir Cole was a few meters from you, Daemon knowing the resentment that the knight held against the princess, let him be your sworn shield, Criston would never have let Rhaenyra hurt you and he was sure of that.
Yet the princess was waiting for you, she wanted to secured her hold over her husband, even if it meant something bad.
"Princess?" Your voice echoed in the lifeless garden.
“I am not here for peace.”
« What peace? We’re not in conflict, princess." You were upset.
“Oh yes… Ever since MY husband fell in love with you. You are nothing, no more than a whore in the slums of King’s Landing.”
You felt Sir Cole stiffen up last, you could only imagine the knight holding his hand on the knob of his sword.
« You are badly placed Rhaenyra to speak to me in this way, when you, was less old than I was at my wedding be dragging a rumor about your visit to the debauchery places, more than one lord calls you, hanging around your back. Everyone thinks that you lost your maidenhood in its place and that your marriage to Daemon was there to avoid humiliating your father’s honor.”
"How dare you speak to me like this?! To your future queen!"
“The truth is painful to hear, I see.”
"I will make you! …"
"What are you going to do, Rhaenyra?"
Rhaenyra who had approached you looked up and saw behind you, Sir Cole sword in hand and Daemon standing by his side.
“D… Daemon… Nothing I promise you.”
Rhaenyra felt her blood freezing in her veins. She didn’t expect Daemon to be present. Daemon ordered Sir Criston to escort you to your children. He had to settle some conflicts with his niece.
Rhaenyra approached Daemon, a look that was meant to be sweet but also showed fear. As she placed a hand on his chest, he grabbed her by the throat tightening enough to hold her without choking her.
“If you threatenh Y/n or I learn that you orchestrate the slightest evil toward her or our children. You will regret it bitterly.”
“D… Daemon…” Rhaenyra was trying to free herself from the prince’s grip.
Daemon looked at her a few seconds before letting go of her grip. He left, without saying a word, walking towards the corridors of the Red Keep.
At the time of Viserys’s death, all were in mourning, Daemon had let his anger explode against the mestres who had not been able to heal his brother. Rhaenyra though devastated by the death of her father was thinking only of one thing, the throne, she would rule Westeros and could proclaim that your union with Daemon would be annulled and proclaimed that your children would be bastards. But… she was caught off guard.
On the morning of the coronation, Rhaenyra woke up in her room, usually the maids came to wake her up, and dressed her, but this time a man was sitting near the entrance, partially hidden by the shadow which was projected by the wardrobe nearby, A cane was visible. Rhaenyra knew this person, she had already met him before. Larys Strong was close to Alicent and close to you.
“Hello Princess”
"What are you doing here?"
“It just so happens that a plot to lose a friend has come to my ears.”
"Daemon will not leave you alive if anything happens to me! Guard!"
Rhaenyra got up rushing to his window to scream for help. But the one was blocked.
“No one will come to your aid at this time, princess, and I doubt that King Daemon will judge me if anything happens to you.”
Rhaenyra trembled, the fear she felt increased, her body trembled, her hands became sweaty and tears formed in her eyes.

On the other side of the city, Daemon was walking in the temple of Baelor, approaching the priest who held the crown of Aegon the conqueror. You stood beside Laenna, and your children, and his first children with Rhaenyra. In the future he was going to proclaim you queen consorts, Rhaenyra would have nothing, Jace, Luke and Joffrey sent through Westeros to marry with less important houses, to leave the crown when the time came to Y/s/n, spanking it noted and signed, reminding the lords each year that he would be the future king of Westeros. But for the moment he thought it could wait, he had a queen to proclaim. His sweet flower.

You were gone. No one had heard from you for a whole 2 weeks and to say they were confused was an understatement. One second you were laughing along with them, wine drunk with Azriel by your side helping you stay steady enough to watch the stars fall, and the next you had given them no sign of life. Azriel could feel from the bond that you were in fact alive, you just needed your space and so that was what he told the others.
He left out the part that he had royally fucked up in his delivery but you hadn't given him the chance to explain himself, you had always known when something was wrong and as closed off as he might be, you were the only one who could read him like a book.
You closed yourself off in your apartment, and when you were in need of fresh air you went out for a walk by the sidra, you tried out new places that were opening up around Velaris. Everything and anything to keep your mind off of him no matter how much you needed to way out your options.
You were engaged. To Eris of all fae. Eris was your sister's fiancee once upon a time too, not that you wanted him in the first place. You couldn't help but think that Mor's tragic history was now your plot line.
You and Eris worked together to infiltrate Keir's secrets in the court of nightmares, your father trusted him and because you allowed yourself to be under his control, the result was your betrothal to the heir of the Autumn Court. It worked in everyone's favor, though when you had told the rest of your family it had not gone over so well. Mor couldn't be in the same room as you- much less you and Eris- for months.
Eventually, you had opened up on the advantages it would serve, Eris was already allied with the night court privately now no one in the court of nightmares could suspect your deception. It was a whole twisted mess of double-crossings.
You and Eris teamed up as a couple pretending to be spying on the inner circle and feeding false information to the enemy while in reality, you were spying on your father, giving Rhysand everything. It was enough to give you a headache. Now adding Azriel into the mix- Would ruin everything you worked so hard to build.
All these years of faking your loyalty and devotion to your father with everything he has done to you and your sister so that you can be the eyes and ears in places your high lord cannot, the one goal in your ruse was to be free of him without breaking what you built. Eris was the way to do that, he was technically on your side and you've spoken of the past, he was a handsome male that could please you just fine.
It didn't matter that he wasn't the one you wanted because, for all you knew at the time, the one you longed for's heart, beat for someone else.
You had never known Azriel to be selfish but lately, he had made it a new habit that you weren't so sure about. How dare he? How dare he do this to you!
The audacity of this man! Azriel would cost you everything and you would pay for it, willingly. He hadn't needed to speak for you to know what he wanted from you.
What you would have given to have him reach for you the way he did that night. The way you pined for him, in your 500 years of living your heart beat for no other male. Fae, Illyrian, both, human, even High Lord at one point. No one could compare to Azriel. Your mind, body, and soul were are his. However, it was time you gave up your unofficial claim on him he wasn't yours nor you his- or so you thought.
Nothing would become of this childish infatuation you grew accustomed to. And so you worked to keep your thoughts on your future without him, a future you knew where Azriel would find someone who would love him.
A century later and here you were, clutching your chest to keep from the panic crawling up your throat.
If only this had happened sooner-
Before it got so messy before you accepted Eris' proposal and appeared before your father claimed your hand. He so eagerly accepted, his hunger for power clear in his eyes, so blind for it that he's unaware of the upper hand you and your soon-to-be husband have.
If only he had loved you when you didn't have all these responsibilities that a relationship- mateship with him would tear down.
After a week of shutting yourself out, you spoke to Eris. He knew all about your feelings for Azriel and though he was jealous, you were his- at the time. When you told him you needed to speak to him he already knew. He gave you one last kiss before making a smartass remark about how he'd be there when you got bored.
You didn't know how you were going to deal with your father just yet but you would clean up one mess at a time.
Days later you finally gathered up the courage to speak to him. It was almost dusk when you had opened up the bond and willed him to come to you. The wind brought him to the middle of your sitting room within a minute.
His head was bent, he looked like a little boy who was caught in the pantry. You sighed and took his hand leading him to your couch and pushing down his broad shoulders for him to sit in the middle. His brows furrowed in confusion as you backed away and intertwined your fingers.
"I am going to talk and you are going to listen," Your eyes flickered between both of his hazel ones. "Got it?"
He nodded eagerly, though he wouldn't meet your gaze.
"I cannot accept the bond-" From your side of the link, you felt his heart clench, "Not yet at least. I need to know this is real Az."
You could tell he wanted to speak but you knew that he wouldn't, not until you've said your peace. Tears begin to well up at how hard it was to say this out loud, "I will always love you. More than you will ever know Azriel, but I will not be a replacement for all the women you could not have. For all, I've known you never showed the slightest bit of interest in me prior to Starfall. Now I'm going to ask you- and I want the truth Az- Do you want this?"
His eyes were glossed over as he looked up at you through his lashes, "Do you want me?" Your voice broke.
He stood from his place on your couch, sauntering over to you, and he reached a hand out. Fingertips softly brushed fallen strands of your hair from your face, behind your ear, tracing a finger from your ear to your jaw. Slowly and painfully he dragged his finger to the tip of your chin forcing your eyes to meet his and you are weak.
"I have been so blind Y/n," He whispers.
"That's not an answer," You shake your head, and he drops his hand. Your voice was like stone though your nerves were on fire, "Do you love me Azriel?"
"I love you, Y/n L/n."
You wanted so badly to believe him. The thought of the mating bond forcing him to make him feel this way made you sick. "What about Elain?"
Azriel winced but spoke cooly, "An infatuation that is over and done."
"And Mor?"
"I loved her," Your stomach turned. "But the love I had for her, in that way, is gone and it does not compare to how I feel for you. The bond does nothing but intensify the love I have for you, the love that I have hidden away long ago."
"How am I supposed to believe that?" You scoff. "You forget that I've been there Az, throughout everything. You are not shy with your love, I should know, I've seen the way you love."
He shakes his head in denial, "I love you Y/n."
"What happens if one day Mor decides she loves you?" Something you knew would never actually happen but you needed to know.
"I love you-"
"Azriel-"
"I love you."
You playfully push him away from you, "You can't keep saying that when you have nothing to back it up with." He takes a hold of your waist with one hand and grabs the back of your neck, attaching his lips to yours. He kisses you with an intensity you've never felt from any other male, you melt into the kiss wrapping your arm around his shoulder and running your hands through his hair. Your body was pressed against his, adding heat to a situation you weren't sure you wanted to add to. His lips were intoxicating, you didn't want to stop but your mind wouldn't stop thinking about all the unanswered questions.
You broke away from the kiss, pushing him an arm's length away. "You said I talked too much."
He barked out a laugh, "What?"
"You told me that a couple of years ago," He took a step toward you but your arm held strong.
"I love you Y/n."
"I snore-"
"No you don't," Azriel snorted and removed your hand from his shoulder, bringing you into him with an arm. He pressed kisses up and down your neck, "I thought you wanted me to prove my love and here you are trying to give me reasons not to love you."
Azriel added his tongue to his kisses and began to suck on one spot in particular that had your knees weak.
"You said it yourself that I'm too much for you."
He paused his attack on your neck holding your face in his large hands, "Because I love you and you deserve better. Besides, I've dealt with you for well over two centuries I think I can deal with you for the rest of my life."
"I need you to prove it."
"I'll prove it to you for as long as I live," Azriel bent his neck down to press a chaste kiss to your lips.
"Promise?"
"I promise."

A tiny analysis of an aspect in The Stolen Heir & a small desire to witness in The Prisoner's Throne by Holly Black Part 2: From Oak's Perspective
I found myself sitting on the subway and my imaginings were running rampant about my head with the contemplation of Oak and Cardan's relationship.
I stand by what I had previously said, that Cardan desires for Oak to have a choice when he had none, but let us examine this from Oak's perspective.
As was mentioned in The Stolen Heir, Oak has made himself a constant target for assassination attempts in defense of the royal family. And we know he was present when Hyacinthe attempted to kill Cardan.
What if this was out of guilt?
Because, from Oak's perspective---the perspective that his family would just be better off without him---he has taken everything that he believes could bring Cardan joy away from Cardan.
The Crown: though Oak acknowledges that Cardan did not originally desire it, it is no secret that Cardan has come to thrive at and enjoys being the High King. In time, as was planned by Jude, Oak will "take that away" (so to speak) from Cardan as he will be forced to abdicate to pass the position to Oak.
Jude: perhaps not to a great extent, but Jude has made (and probably continues to do so) many decisions based on Oak and Oak's position. Jude is, essentially, "forcing" Cardan to agree with her on the whole Oak = High King perspective even if Cardan does not. In a way, Oak may consider himself as taking a piece of Jude away from Cardan.
A Family: Granted, we don't know if Cardan desires children (hopefully that will be answered in the next book) but neither he nor Jude seem opposed to it in the future. We know that the progress in them having any children is halted because Jude does not want to complicate the line of succession---which has Oak as heir. Oak's presence and status as heir is literally putting a pause on the family that Cardan could have started with Jude (again, if they so desire. I know not everyone is on board with that, and I'll admit, I'm a bit wishy-washy on the subject myself).
Life: Cardan has faced numerous assassination attempts. Many of them are because someone wants Oak on the throne. Oak, the son of the person that resulted in Cardan essentially being disowned, exiled, forced into an abusive home, and branded as a cruel prince. The son of the person responsible for a lot of Cardan's miserable childhood. Just because Dain was supposed to be coronated and Oak is his son, people are trying to kill Cardan. And Oak witnessed one of these assassination attempts, which he probably deems to be his fault. He let Hyacinthe out, he removed the curse, he allowed Hyacinthe to get close enough to Cardan to strike. Oak probably feels such a tremendous amount of guilt for that incident alone that it's no wonder he tries to make himself a target for assassins, a ship that breaks rocks.
From Oak's perspective, how could Cardan not hate him?
From Oak's perspective, he probably feels like he deserves that hate, deserves to be the walking target because, from his perspective, he has taken or will take everything from Cardan.
But Oak doesn't know that Cardan wouldn't. Cardan could never.
And I hope, in The Prisoner's Throne, Cardan tells Oak that he wants him around, that he does not hold any blame towards him, and that Oak has given Cardan so much and has taken nothing.
But, once more, those are just foolhardy dreams.

Chapter 2
Aemond/ Aegon/ Jacaerys x fem! Targaryen! Martell! reader
Synopsis: The Martell family left Kings Landing, leaving (y/n) alone in the capital. But to her advantage the heir to the throne princess Rhaenyra took interest in her.
Chapter one Chapter three
Kings Landing 122 ac
“Your highnesses.” The Martell Lady bowed gently before the five royal children, there was an empty chair between princess Halaena and prince Jacaerys. She took the hint and gracefully took her place and bowed gently to the royals once more.
“It is so wonderful to meet you lady (y/n).” The princess Halaena said warmly, putting her gentle hand on hers. The Martell nodded in return. “What magnificent eyes you have… they will match the beast that lives in your dreams.” She murmured silently, her hand gripped tighter those of (Y/N)’s.
“Do not pay her any mind, she is an lunatic.” The prince Aegon said, he held onto the wine goblet as if his life depended on it. His younger brother kicked him under the table.
“I do not mind my prince, I’m sure the princess is wonderful company.” The Martell smiled warmly at the older girl, she returned the kind gesture. (Y/N) was not sure how to act in the presence of the royal family. She was used to her family and other bannermen of her house, along with different courtiers of her mother, however she was always chaperoned by her septa. She nervously picked at the roasted lamb on her plate, she could feel the intense gaze of Aegon on her figure.
“Have you ever seen a dragon, my lady?” Aegon asked cheekily, (Y/N) raised her gaze from her plate. Curiously she shook her head in a no and put her fork down. Before Aegon could respond to the silent response his younger brother kicked him under the table once again. She raised her brows at that short interaction between the brothers.
“Would you like to see my dragon, (Y/N)?” Halaena interrupted both of her brothers, turning to the Dornish girl she beemed happily.
“I would love to my princess.” She nodded
“Let us go, at once!” Helaena said happily, standing up quickly and grabbing the hand of the younger girl.
Helaena as a royal princess was granted her leave without question, two guards and a septa were to escort the two ladies. Halaena and (Y/N) walked hand in hand towards the dragon pit.
“What is life like in Dorne, I have never visited the south.” Helaena asked suddenly, (Y/N) smiled warmly at the mention of her home. She openly told the princess of her fond memories. “You must be saddened by the fact that you will stay behind.” She murmured, the Martell nodded silently.
The walk to the dragon pit passed by quickly, the conversation keeping the both girls occupied. When they finally arrived (Y/N) could hear the roar of the flame breathing beast, she was fascinated by the mystical being, before only reading about them in books.
Dreamfyre was a slender she-dragon with scales of blue and silver, her rider princess Helaena excitedly walked towards her mount, the dragon roared quietly happy to see the Targaryen. Helaena motioned the Martell to come closer, the girl slightly nervous shuffled to the princess.
“She is beautiful, your highness.” (Y/N) sighed dreamily, looking at the dragon.
After the brief encounter with the blue beast the two princesses were escorted back into the keep. The celebration was as lively as ever, even in the hour of the eel, her younger siblings were surely asleep by now. Her family was to leave after the celebration was over, she saddened at the thought. But nonetheless she was escorted to her chambers for the night, the maids undoing her gown and braids, she was bathed and dressed into a white linen nightgown, her hair set free.
The maids left after their lady got into bed, the unfamiliar sheets made falling asleep hard for the princess. She tossed and turned, but sleep was not on her mind. What occupied the young Targaryen’s thoughts was the blue she-dragon, she felt at home next to the beast her new thoughts somehow lulled her into sleep.
The beast’s scales shined in the moonlight, the black and purple wings were spread looming a huge shadow on the ground below. It’s eyes cold and mysterious searched for prey to devour whole, it’s teeth the size of a human man could rip apart even stone. The beast let out a ear shattering roar and breathed magnitude of golden flames, burning alive the small herd of deer, it snatched the animals in his claws and flew away.
The Martell princess awoke with a gasp, cold sweat covered her thin body. She looked around to see her handmaiden opening the curtains in her chamber.
“Your family is departing soon, my lady.” She bowed gently and rushed back to her chores. (Y/N) nodded slowly, her mind was plagued by the images of the black and purple beast. Pushing those thoughts aside, she rose from the bed and took a deep breath, she will have to say goodbye to her family, for the gods know how long.
The maid tied the red dress on her petite body, and brushed her long silver locks putting them into a braided bun. She dismissed the maid as she heard a knock on the door.
“Lady (Y/N), I am here to escort you to your family.” A guard’s voice said, muffled by the thick door. The young girl nodded silently and moved to open the door.
“Lead the way ser.” She spoke quietly, her hands clasped in front of her as she nodded at the large man. He nodded silently and led the way, his armor clicked with every step as he held tightly onto his sword.
The walk was quiet, most of the court was still asleep or healing their morning fog. (Y/N) tried to hold back tears at the thought of being alone in Kings Landing.
“My little dragon” Morion Martell exclaimed at the sight of his daughter. The girl ran to her father, he easily caught her in his arms, holding her close to him.
“I will miss you so much father” She sobbed into his shoulder, the tears fell freely as her father shushed her while caressing her hair.
“I will write you every week, my sweetling” he assured his eldest child. She nodded at his words and let her father go, she walked to her step mother and hugged her silently. Her younger brother Quentyn, tugged on his sisters skirt, she turned and lowered herself to his level, she hugged her little brother tightly.
“Your carriage is ready, my prince.” A guard interrupted the Martells, motioning towards the carriage that was to take them to the port of black water bay.
Morion glanced at his daughter, then back to the carriage. He knelt, lowering himself to his daughters eye level, the dornish prince placed his hand on his daughters silver locks.
“My daughter you are the of the blood of Dorne and fire made flesh. Remember our words, unbent, unbowed, unbroken, people in the capitol are treacherous, do not trust anyone.” He spoke sternly looking her daughter deeply in her mismatched eyes. The girl nodded, her eyelashes wet with tears her father caressed her rosy cheeks, he placed a gentle kiss on her forehead.
“I love you, my little dragon.” He spoke gently, this was it. Her family is to leave for Sunspear and she will stay here. She waved gently at her little siblings and mother that sat in the carriage. As the horses trotted to the gate, (Y/N) was left in the courtyard.
(Y/N) was escorted back into her chambers, she noticed that even her handmaiden went back to Dorne. They were replaced by new ones, an elder woman named Lysa and a girl a few moons older than the Dornish princess, her name was Talana. As her father warned her, she did not trust the new maids.
A knock interrupted the thoughts of the young girl, she raised her brows curiously.
“My lady, ser Harwin Strong.” Her maid announced, she nodded to open the doors.
“Lady (Y/N), princess Rhaenyra has requested your presence to break fast with her family.” A well build knight with dark curly hair exclaimed.
The girl nodded slightly and followed after the tall knight. Princess Rhaenyra the heir to the iron throne, a woman first in it’s history. The young Martell princess admired strong women throughout history, and now that included the princess Rhaenyra. As Dorne was a more tolerant kingdom than others, women were not barred from the line of succession and believed to be equal to their male counterparts. However that was not the case in most of Westeros, especially king’s landing.
The burly knight of the city watched opened heavy double sided doors that lead to the royal dining room, the noise from opening the doors put attention on the Martell princess.
“Ah lady (y/n), please come sit.” The heir motioned to the empty seat next to her eldest son, Jacaerys the eight year old Velaryon boy, with wavy brown hair and eyes, and a pug nose. The lack of similarity between his father and himself was quite obvious, perhaps the Baratheon blood was strong.
“I am sorry to hear that you have been separated from your family, but please feel welcome here. We are family, are we not?” The princess humored the obviously glum young girl.
“Thank you, your highness. It’s an honor to join you.” She said nicely, Rhaenyra nodded and looked at her husband, the lord Laenor Valeryon.
“Jace perhaps you can show lady Martell around the keep, I’m sure ser Harwin will keep you company.” Rhaenyra proposed and her eldest son looked unsure at the girl next to him. He cleared his throat and turned slightly towards (y/n), he fumbled with the sleeve of his top.
“Lady (y/n) would you like to do so?” He asked
“It would be my pleasure, my lord.” She sounded her opinion.
“Please call me by my name, we are family and almost the same age.” Jace chuckled happily and the Dornish lady smiled at that.
“Then please, feel free to address me by my name as well.” She responded a small smile crept up onto her lips.
The royal couple looked at each other knowingly, they exchanged silent words about the two children.
Jace proved to be an outgoing, adventurous and bold young man. He moved quickly and explained in great detail everything he knew about the red keep, because of his lack of knowledge the explanation were rather short but nonetheless interesting. The magnificent structure was a piece of history build by the conqueror and perfected by the cruel. The tall knight followed slowly after the two kids, he gazed lovingly at the interactions between them.
“Jace could we explore outside?” The girl asked, Jace’s eyes shone with excitement. He jumped to (y/n) and took her by her shoulders.
“That is an magnificent idea! We should go see my dragon! His name is Vermax, he is still small but so ferocious!” He rambled excitedly about his mount and (y/n) smiled at the happy moment.
As Lady (y/n) and prince Jacaerys were escorted to the dragon pit by horse. The prince rode a beautiful grey and white spotted horse while the lady Martell rode a large brown stallion.
The ride to the home of the dragons was quiet, the soft latter of hooves and whistles of the wind created a calm atmosphere. That however was suddenly Interrupted by a ferocious roar that came from the sky.
“Looks like the rouge visits Kings Landing once more” Ser Harwin mused looking up at the sky to see a large winged shadow.
“The rogue?” The Martell princess asked curiously glancing upwards. The roar of the beast seemed oddly familiar.
“He is a wild dragon, maybe the size of Vhagar! He looms over the capital from time to time, stealing large herds of sheep and other cattle.” Jace muttered glancing at the princess.
“Do you know what it looks like?” She asked another question but to her dismay.
“Unfortunately no, nobody has seen him only his shadow. My mother said that her great grandmother the Queen Alysanne has seen the beast, she spoke of him as a black and purple fury that breathed golden flames. But she was old and delirious so nobody can be sure.” The prince muttered and the Dornish princess widened her eyes
Black and Purple scales?
Golden flames?
Those colors were possessed by the beast from the Dornish princesses dreams.

fire and blood alicent vs house of the dragon alicent.
One of the ‘’criticisms’’ of the most annoying criticisms of the show is how ryan and co made alicent ‘’’weak’’ and ‘’submissive’’ to the men around her and ‘’’we want book! Alicent’’ , but if they had actually read the book or just the ‘Dance’ they would know that this is not the case. Here are some comparisons of f&b alicent vs hotd alicent.
show alicent: makes a statement at rhaenyra’s wedding; according to hotd: green dress = declaring war.
book alicent: wears a green dress to her & viserys’ 5th wedding anniversary, rhaenyra wears black – the beginning of blacks vs greens;
show alicent: request to see the baby the moment it’s born; ‘’keep trying ser leanor..’’ comment.
book alicent: eventually makes that comment about joffrey, but no mention of her ‘’inspecting’’ joff or any of rhaenyra’s other 2 kids.
show alicent: rejects rhaenyra’s proposal to marry jace to helaena.
book alicent: no proposal is ever made, viserys himself marries helaena (who was 13) to aegon.
show alicent & criston: are the reason why harwin was sent home; larys eventually decides to kill his dad and brother for his own gain, tells alicent and makes her an acomplince. + gets power over her.
book alicent and criston: have nothing to do with harwin being sent away,  viserys does it himself after the kids fight.
show alicent: attacks rhaenyra with a knife
book alicent: she and rhaenyra kiss and exchange words of love (forced by viserys)
show alicent: support vaemond’s petiton
book: vaemond never makes a petition, rhaenyra finds out what he has been saying, sends daemon to kill him; his family eventually comes to seek justice. – nothing to do with alicent.
the green council in the show: the stupidest thing the show did, all of the capable council members thought the best case scenario is to just men to kill the other half of the royal family + the ‘’grandsons’’ and granddaughter of house velaryon? Alicent being against the kill of all of them was smart and normal reaction.
the green council in the book: there is the mention of the danger they would be in if rhaenyra takes the throne and how ‘’daemon would find any reason to put them to the sword, even helaena and her little ones’’.. no one talks about killing them; it was aegon who wanted rhaenyra and daemon killed only after she crowned herself and EVERYONE was of course against it as it’s a very stupid move; even aegon didn’t want all of them dead,,, (the show was really pushing it, not mentioning their fears of daemon, especially with the rumors of leanor’s ‘’death’’ and what happened to vaemond, but they are the ones who want to kill the other side of the family?)
also, there is no way to know if alicent loved viserys or whenver she was happy with him, she was still a young girl (18) married to someone who WANTED HER and her ‘’job’’ was to provide him with heirs – and so she did.  Book alicent could be a victim just like show alicent is – because you would never know since we have no POVs – just rumors.
show alicent: orders the killing of mysaria and her spies, giving mysaria a reason to go after them.
book alicent: never happened.

Master List
Part 2
Tumblr media
There was always a silent freedom of the early morning, when the sun was just starting to rise and drops of dew were still forming on the blades of grass. It was her father, the King, that taught her that it was the early hours of the morning where she would always find the most peace in the day.
It was when she was allowed to be herself, and not the Princess, Heir Apparent to the Throne. When the weight of the day had not yet fallen on her shoulders, and she could still breathe freely. And when for just a moment, she could enjoy complete serenity.
As such, there was rarely a morning that Princess Alexandra was not out in the gardens or even a ride when she was out in the country. And this morning was no different.
Sitting on a stone bench in the middle of the gardens—as far away from the walls of the palace as she could get without a chaperone—Princess Alexanda quietly read her book, humming to herself as she reached to take a small sip of her coffee. She just needed a few moments to herself before her country called for her and she was forced to become Princess Alexandra.
From her conversation with her private secretary the night before, she understood that today involved more meetings with stuffy statesmen. Ones that viewed her as a silly little girl playing dress up in the role of the future queen, yet none of them could actually say it or even think it too loudly. And Alexandra was tired of it.
“You should be getting ready for your meetings,” a voice called from her left, causing her to look up suddenly from her book.
“You know how I feel about those meetings,” Alexandra sighed, turning away from her father and back to her book. “Besides, my outfit is already selected for me, down to the earrings and even the stockings. My schedule has been picked for me. And even the words that should travel from my brain to my mouth have already been decided without me.”
“I thought you normally had coffee when you came out here to read?” King Beau mused, resting his hands on his knees.
“I do.”
“Then why are you still so crabby?” he teased his eldest daughter, nudging her with his elbow. Alexandra shot her father a look but it quickly dissolved into an amused smile. “It will get easier with time. I promise, my dear.”
“More automatic, you mean,” she sighed, marking her book before shutting it.
“Perhaps,” he replied softly. “But you’ll find your way, Alexandra. Your own way.”
“I will certainly try.”
“I know that you will. But right now, you should get back to your room and get ready for today before you scare your maid. There are military men coming today. And military men are always on time. You can’t be late.”
“Alright,” Alexandra replied, getting up from her seat. Pressing a kiss to his cheek, she bid her father goodbye. She made it a few steps before turning on her heel and asking her father, “Who’s coming today that’s so important?”
~~~~~
“Remind me again why the princesses need additional security? And from a man like me, no less?” Bradley asked, walking a step behind his uncle into the palace.
“Tensions are rising across the globe. The King quietly wants the princesses to be shuttled out to the countryside while he’s in intense meetings all day.”
“He doesn’t want to alarm them?”
“I would think so. He doesn’t need distractions. It’s a very delicate situation everywhere and the princesses are young.”
“The future queen is very much an adult,” Bradley pointed out to Maverick.
“In age, certainly. But in the eyes of the country and of the government, not entirely,” Maverick replied, taking the steps in front of him quickly.
“But why not?”
“It’s complicated.”
“That’s a bullshit answer.”
“Do not swear when in the palace,” Maverick hissed, nudging Bradley with his hand. “And be careful here. There are ears in the walls.” Maverick quickly adjusted Bradley's medals and straightened out his collar before shooting Bradley another look. “Just get through today and then you can act like a normal human being again.”
Bradley nodded and followed his uncle’s lead. They walked into a grand room where several gentlemen were mingling. Most of them were in military uniforms, but there were still a fair number of aristocrats running around the place. Probably annoyed at all the commoners running around, if Bradley had to guess. But he stood silently as Maverick led him over to Ice.
“Prime Minister Kazansky,” Maverick greeted, causing Ice to turn.
“Captain Mitchell,” he returned, shaking Maverick’s hand as if they were meeting for the first time. But the smiles shared between them clearly showed a level of familiarity that Ice didn’t share with the other high-ranking officials in the room. Ice turned to Bradley and extended his hand again, as if he was not at Bradley’s military academy graduation, “And Lieutenant Bradshaw.”
“Prime Minister,” Bradley stated, struggling a bit to hide the familiarity in his tone.
“Are you prepared for your next mission, Lieutenant?” Ice asked, folding his arms behind his back.
“Yes, sir. I have studied the mission extensively, as I would any military operation,” Bradley replied, sharing a look with Maverick. “Though, I must admit that I don’t know why this mission has become mine in the first place.”
“There were several factors at play,” Ice explained quietly, keeping his voice low. “The King served in the Royal Navy and therefore trusts a Navy man more than he would another. Your record is exemplary, and your personal recommendations are pristine. You are young and agile. And you don’t have any record of being a fanatic concerned with the Royal Family.”
“Fanatic?” Bradley repeated, confused.
“Fanatic, yes. The Princess is still unmarried, of course, and as she is of marrying age, the King does not want any fanatics or obsessive social climbers anywhere near her.”
“Then why did he invite them?” Maverick asked dryly, gesturing to a group of nobles on the other side of the room. At Ice’s expression, Bradley turned to Maverick with a small smirk. “Looks like I’m not the only one who doesn’t know proper decorum at these events, Mav.”
“If you would all please get into your order,” a voice boomed from the entryway.
Bradley followed Maverick and stood at the very end of the line. Straightening up, he stared ahead, waiting for the King and Princess to finally arrive. He had seen photos of them, of course, but meeting them in person was different. The black and white of the photos still hid details that Bradley felt like he needed to know if he was going to act as a guard to the three princesses.
The doors opened as Bradley turned his head to watch the King step into the room and greet Ice at the head of the line. Maverick told Bradley that the King was a bit stuffy and a stickler for the rules, but when one truly got to know him outside of his duties, he was a man of exceptional character with a strong, caring nature.
Turning his head again, Bradley paused when he saw the Princess Alexandra step into the room.
Her hair was curled and pinned back into place in a bun that Bradley was sure could probably survive a bomb. She wore a simple gray dress and coat with matching heels, looking a bit like an accountant as she followed a few steps behind her father. And the necklace around her neck was quite simple for the future Queen.
But when she looked down the line and briefly locked eyes with him, there was no mistaking her for an ordinary woman. Her gaze was sharp, calculating, analyzing every minute detail put in front of her, down to the shine of each medal on each man’s chest and the quality of the thread below it. Her quietness that the papers liked to discuss was not timidness, but simply a pause.
Like a lioness waiting in the grass for the right moment to strike.
~~~~~
Princess Alexandra had been through about a thousand lineups in her life and every single one was as boring as the last. There were never people that she wanted to meet—scholars, artists, individuals who did not treat her like a dainty doll that they could manipulate as they pleased, but rather a strong woman with her own thoughts.
No, it was just a lineup of stuffy statesmen and nobles that all thought she was an idiot waiting for her chance to burn it all down through her own delusion.
But she didn’t mind Prime Minister Kazansky.
“Your Royal Highness,” Ice greeted her with a nod of his head, “it is a pleasure to see you again.”
“The pleasure is all mine, Prime Minister,” she returned, shaking his hand briefly. “And please tell me that I have the continued mercy of having you at my side at lunch.”
“Indeed, miss.”
“Good,” she stated with a genuine smile before she was ushered on.
Going down the line of statesmen and nobles, she had to bite back a grimace when she saw the next man in the lineup. Michael Warrington, the next Earl of Avon. And the man who seemed so intent on seducing her that it was honestly laughable. She had about as much interest in his serpentine smile, bad breath, and small mind as she had interest in getting shot in the face.
“Lord Warrington,” she greeted him politely.
“Your Royal Highness, it is a pleasure to see your beautiful face again,” he drawled, shaking her hand for a bit longer. Thank goodness she was wearing gloves, or she would have to thoroughly sanitize her hands after this encounter. “We missed your presence at the races. I believe you are a good luck charm for our horses.”
“You are too kind, Lord Warrington.” As she turned to the next man in the line, she muttered under her breath, “Really too kind.”
Making her way down the rest of the way, Alexandra came to the last two men in line. They were both dressed in naval uniforms that were freshly pressed and medals that were recently heavily shined. But she could tell that they were both not used to these events. And that automatically made them more interesting to her.
“The Captain Peter Mitchell of the Royal Navy,” her attendant introduced Maverick to her.
“Captain Mitchell,” she stated, extending her hand for him to shake. “My father has told me a great many stories of your valiance in the Royal Navy.”
“I do hope only the stories that paint me in a good light, Your Highness.”
“Only those that paint him in a good light, I’m afraid,” she replied with a note a humor in her tone. “What brings you to our fine palace today, Captain Mitchell?”
“Military matters, miss.”
“Of course.”
“And the matter of your security, as well.”
“My security?” Alexandra repeated, trying to not show her confusion.
“Lieutenant Bradley Bradshaw of the Royal Navy,” her attendant continued, pushing her along.
With her usual stately mask slipping, Alexandra stepped to the side, turning to the man standing beside Maverick, whom her father had been talking to for a few moments longer than the other guests. Looking up at the lieutenant, she felt her cheeks instantly warm with girlish embarrassment that she swore she had outgrown.
He was tall, but not gangly. Nowhere near gangly. The white fabric of his naval uniform was absolutely pristine and outlined the size of his strong frame. His face was tanned, showing that he spent much time out in the sun, and he wore a finely trimmed mustache on his upper lip that framed his plump lips.
She wouldn’t mind statesmen who looked more like him.
“Lieutenant Bradshaw,” she greeted him, offering him her hand.
“Your Highness,” he returned politely, nodding his head to her before shaking her hand. “It’s an honor to meet you.”
“The honor is all mine, Lieutenant,” she stated softly.
“Alexandra,” her father called, causing her to turn to him, “Lieutenant Bradshaw will be joining you and your sisters in the country.”
“Wonderful,” was all she managed, shooting Bradley a small smile. “Well, I look forward to spending more time with you, Lieutenant.”
“I as well, Your Highness.”
Alexandra nodded back to Bradley before following her father towards the dining room where the state lunch would be taking place. When they were a few steps away, her stately expression slipped, and she turned to her father with a look that her mother used to shoot him when she knew that details were being kept from her.
“I’m supposed to go to the country with Ellie and Sophie next week?” she asked quietly, but with a strong measure of force behind her words. “And with a guard?”
“Something has come up,” Beau replied just as quietly as they approached the table. “We will discuss it later tonight.”
“Or never at all?” Alexandra needled, pursing her lips together.
She shot her father one last look before walking around to her side of the table. Beau took a breath before moving to do the same. He was never concerned that his eldest daughter would be able to keep herself composed at these state events. But he was concerned for the sharpness of her words afterwards.
Bradley found himself at the end of the table, but yet he could still see the Princess standing in the middle, beside Ice. She kept her composed expression, but the daggers in her eyes only seemed to have sharpened.
The lioness was getting ready to pounce.

What are some Choices books that you feel if they came out today, they’d probably be single LI books? Because I've given it some thought and I'd say some of them might have been:
The Royal Romance: Would have absolutely been a Liam-only book (I’ve talked about this a bunch in the past), so you’d end up marrying the heir to the throne, Liam/Lia instead, and honestly it would’ve probably worked out better for the writers in the long run if they were only going for a specific narrative instead of trying to force the one-arc-fits-all thing most players have complained about in the series at some point.
Ride-or-Die: Not only is MC’s attraction to Logan something that sets off the story, but I also can’t imagine Colt or Mona being love interests following how modern books are. Don’t know what f!Logan would be called, though.
Save the Date: I mentioned this once before, but I think it would’ve been a Justin book which would’ve leaned harder into a “forbidden romance”, but I imagine this book having come out in their affairs era because it would have been the epitome of the stuff PB loved back then: an LI who’s MC’s “boss” and also I maintain that they would’ve made Justin/Justine the one having the wedding, and of course you’d end up breaking them and their fiancée up, so there’s that other component PB was obsessed with. But since that wave of books seems to have ended (abated?), then the engagement/fiancée arc possibly wouldn’t be a thing today, but there’s every chance they’d still throw in a gf to be MC’s rival as a subplot.
I also wonder if they’d have made Open Heart a single LI book (they practically did anyway) but the thing about OH is that it’s not mandatorily a romance book, so for that they’d have had to make the romance a main part of the story.
━━━━⊱⋆⊰━━━━
But at the same time! Are there any recent(ish) Choices books that you feel would have been multiple LI books in the past? Because I’ve got thoughts about that, too, but the only thing I've got so far is:
Crimes of Passion: Ruby and Luke would’ve absolutely been romanceable, and they’d have been a bigger part of the story for it, too. The MC x Trystan romance doesn’t really play a crucial role until b2 anyway, and everything that happened in b1 could’ve been accomplished with them as good friends as well. Trystan would’ve still been the main LI, just not the only one.
And then sometimes I've wondered if TCH (b1 at least, if they hadn't planned it as a series) would have let you choose whether you ended up with Kieran or a Sun Court LI (potentially Radiance if they weren't a traitor and dead—moreso because of the dead part because even as a traitor they could've had the same b2 arc they gave Aerin in Blades 2, since Radiance is already a copy of b1 Aerin), but idk, probably not, since the series hinges so much on Kieran being in love with MC and them having that Beauty and the Beast thing going on.

I’m sorry I keep bringing it up, and I know it’s still VERY early in the book, but if Blades 2 ends up flopping, I’m not going to be mad, disappointed, etc. I’m just going to be sad. Actually legitimately sad. Because book one was such an amazing book all around and we’ve waited so long for book two.
Part of the issue I have with it right now is, as I mentioned, the pacing. It reminds me a lot of The Royal Heir book one, and I know the two are so different that comparing them is a little silly, but bear with me.
The Royal Heir’s first book, as many, many, many of us remember (💀), had us stuck at the Walker Ranch for nine chapters, eight of which were pure filler, plain and simple. One chapter = one week, so we had eight weeks of filler. And that’s not even counting the filler we had prior to the Walker Ranch.
After the MC discovered she was pregnant in TRH, the story moved faster. So fast, in fact, that the MC’s pregnancy, the focal point of the story, was almost entirely shown through time-skips.
Blades 2 did not need to wait until chapter five for us to officially begin our journey, especially considering (as mentioned in my previous post) book one of Blades had us already knee-deep in combat with enemies on the high seas in chapter five.
I greatly fear for the book as the pacing already displayed is not great, and after finding out that Andrew was no longer the lead writer, well…that didn’t help.
At this point I’m hoping they don’t TRH the book because I don’t know if I can handle seeing yet another mighty series fall.
