Marvel's Injustice.
My pitches for NRS inevitable Marvel game if they go the Injustice route.
Game titles
Marvel:Disassembled
Marvel:Dark Reign
Avengeance:Fall Of Midgard
Story ideas.
Scenario 1. Disassembled. Tony Stark's suit of armor around the world phase goes into complete and full effect. Get the right event to trigger it and I think Tony could be sent into Superman mode where he establishes a regime for the world’s protection. Tony takes full control of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the world by force. Captain America would rise up and lead a band full of heroes who are willing to do what's right and stop Tony Stark and the regime. Final boss fight. We choose between either Cap or Iron Man. If we choose Cap, then we fight Superior Iron Man, if we choose Iron Man, then Cap.
Scenario 2. Avengeance:Fall Of Midgard. human like Norman Osborn or Red Skull sneaking into Asgard with Loki’s help to kill Odin and Lady Sif. Events would manipulate the death of Jane Foster. Blaming Asgard and Midgard for not dealing with Loki and his associates for their many schemes, Thor decides to make changes. Thor is broken and the once Mighty son of Odin, turns back to his old ways and becomes a despotic king of Asgard. Thor wages war on Midgard. Years later Thor has taken over the entire world as well as Asgard, and rules it with an iron fist. Villains that don’t agree with him or opposes him are seen as threats are sent to the negative zone. All mutants are forced to register to work for the regime or be depowered permanently and imprisoned. Final boss fight is Odinforce Thor.
Scenario 3. Dark Reign. The Skrull Royal Family, escaping from the Mad Titan Thanos, strikes a deal with Norman Osborne to conquer Earth in a secret invasion. Queen Veranke of the Skrulls kidnaps and poses as the Scarlet Witch to destroy the Avengers from within. In the chaos, Norman betrays the aliens in order to get his hands on their technology. He is able to place his own Dark Avengers as the new Earth's Mightiest Heroes with the aid of Loki's illusions. Loki manipulates Norman to lead a siege of Asgard using advanced Skrull weapons. The Avengers must reunite along with new heroes to topple Osborne and Loki's Dark Reign once and for all. Post-Credits Scene: As Loki's manipulations come crashing down, he pulls a last ditch effort and influences the traumatized Wanda to use her reality-warping powers. He forces her to say the 3 words "No more heroes". Final boss fight. Iron Patriot.

First of all, this is not a Sylvie-hate post. I love Sylvie and I don’t think she’s the villain. But since that "betrayal" tweet - which I know wasn’t what we thought - I've started thinking about it...
And the fact is that Sylvie's betrayal, no matter how inconceivable it seems looking at previous episodes, makes a lot of sense, narratively speaking.
No facts, here, just some hunces.
Point 1:
Loki: “Love is a dagger. It’s a weapon to be wielded far away or up close. You can see yourself in it. It’s beautiful until it makes you bleed. But ultimately, when you reach for it….”  Sylvie: "It isn't real"
We consider the dagger speech in relation to Mobius (and I’m kinda convinced that one day Loki will be able to define what love is moving from his for Mobius) but it fits so well Loki and Sylvie's relationship. Not in an optymistic way, though.
Loki is possibly convinced that what he feels for her and her for him is love. The writers themselves called it a romantic relationship. Also, “You can see yourself in it”, and Sylvie IS Loki, a reflection of who he is.
But then the quote goes: “It’s beautiful until it makes you bleed”... “It isn’t real”. And no matter it’s a bad metaphor, I don’t think this is a casual sentence added to make us laugh. If she betrays him in the last episode, it will turn out that indeed love wasn’t real and it was used to make him bleed.
Point 2:
I keep thinking about the conversation Loki and Sylvie had in the last episode.
“I know what I did. And I know why I did it. And that’s not who I am anymore” (by the way, this change was inspired by Mobius, thank you your Honor). But did Sylvie have this “change”? I know, their stories are different but Sylvie’s goal has not changed since the story started, despite her getting fond of Loki, while Loki did make a personal evolution of some kind, he even admits it.
I don’t know, there was something off, to me, about this whole conversation and them possibly planning a future together... which will obviously not happen because angst is a fundamental part of TV shows so when they give people sudden “hopes” is mostly to break their hearts along the way. And, you know, Sylvie seemed kinda... sad, somehow. Which leads me to...
Point 3:
Someone pointed out that when Loki offers to stay with Sylvie to fight Alioth, Mobius is shocked and almost gives himself a whiplash turning to look at him.
Sylvie’s reaction? She closes her eyes, sighs, her eyes are a bit tearful. My first reaction was: she doesn’t want him to go because she wants to protect him. But thinking about it, it feels more and more like a “oh no, don’t do this, Loki, don’t make me do this” kind of thing - which I’ve seen it in other movies developed in this way.
I don't think Sylvie is bad per se. But she has gone through unimaginable suffering and has been even more lonely than Loki all her life.
She hasn't thought beyond this goal because it's the only thing she wants to achieve, her "sanity" depends on her success. This kind of goal is not like a "I must rule Midgard" goal. It is something that is rooted in her pain in a much more explicit way. It's revenge. And in TV shows, people who feel this way usually do everything in their power to succeed even if it costs them everything else they have. Friends included. It might pain her to do it, but she will do it anyway, if necessary. In this way, she’s less unpredictable than Loki but much more dangerous.
Point 4:
Another thing that comes directly from how stories are usually developed: give someone a love interest too soon and it’s doomed. Take Harry Dresden and Susan, for example.
The writers also called it “first love” which is often used in association with the idea that there will be other relationships after that first one.
So, no matter if you see a romantic relationship there or if you think Loki and Sylvie are just confusing it for a romantic relationship... it’s still going to go bad, at least in season one, because that’s how Media work. Sylvie and Loki are not going to live happily ever after because fabulas need a plot twist to work. And this specific plot twist can only go in three directions:
- Sylvie dies - Sylvie gets separated from Loki  - Sylvie betrays Loki
And of the three I find the last one the most believable. Making her betray him despite her NOT being a villain could open up a way more interesting storyline in which he learns to forgive and she needs to find herself and who she really is.
As said, these are just hunches, but I wanted to leave them here in case my bingo card is correct and boyfriend needs proof that I was right all along. Sorry for the endless post!

I feel like this could have been a great show just showing us more of Loki's power and personal goals and thoughts after all that happened with his family. We just wanted to have more Loki. We barely know him, still. We had no problem with him being a villain. The whole involving him in the multiverse business is really cool actually. I wish it made more sense. This could have been an awesome 20 episode long story of Loki's character development, his background, his feelings, his thoughts, they could have done so much more with the whole "Loki working for the TVA" thing. It would have been gun to watch him in this for him foreign environment trying to figure out how to cope with normal every days at an office after living his whole life as a prince. I would have watch office Loki without questioning it once.
I wish we had more:
-Loki thinks about what happened on Asgard
-Loki tries to come to term with his feelings about his family
-Loki helping Mobius hunt down Sylvie by learning about his own weaknesses and flaws
-Loki learning from Sylvie's example that he was supposed to be who he is and therefore being scared of the future thinking he doesn't have a choice
-Loki learning about the variants and learning how to improve himself after seeing how miserable and terrible some of them are
-Loki changing( but not becoming a whole new person, like who the fuck did we just watch???)
-Loki slowly building a friendship with Mobius( instead of becoming bffs by episode 3 .) Who than explains to him what makes Loki a Loki. (Imagine a whole ass scene with a whiteboard and markers and Mobius drawing on it viciously and Loki just sitting there confused)
-Loki checking in with Mobius about his possible future plans to see what will get him arrested. (Mad cute. Imagine him following Mobius around with a notepad asking him questions like "Is it okay if i change my outfit completely?" "What it i get a haircut?" "Will i be arrested if i tell Thor i love him?Not like i will ..just in case if i accidentally do")
-Loki earning his return to his timeline with hard work through episodes after episodes.
-Loki returns to his timeline as a changed man, stronger, smarter, and wiser.
-He spends some time alone (about a year just to let things cool down a little around the whole taking over Midgard thing")
-Loki returning to Asgard in a hooded black and green cloak and looking upon the palace in the sunrise before he heads towards it.

Happy ffwf! Please share snippets of your recent (top 3) WIPs.
Hello Happy FFWF!! I love sharing snippets so here we go!
1: This is from the IronStrange story I’m currently working on. At the moment it’s standing at 25,000 and I reckon it might be around 40-50,000 when I’m finished with it!
‘Give me your phone number,’ Tony told him, reaching into his pocket and pulling out his phone.
‘My…what why?’
‘Stop arguing and just do it, asshole.’
‘Oh, the pretty redhead gets a nice nickname while I get insulted,’ Stephen spat before reciting his number.
‘Pretty doctors have to work for their cutesy nickname,’ Tony shot straight back, his thumbs flying over his phone. ‘There.’
Stephen felt his phone vibrate in his pocket.
2: I’m working on a story for Kayson at the moment as a thank you for the Ko-Fi they brought me. It was a Frostironstrange request, with a pretty awesome plot idea!!
They weren’t in a committed relationship, not yet, but as Loki watched Stephen dress in his robes for the day, felt Anthony's hand grip his forearm in his sleep, Loki knew it was time to broach the subject. They had been dancing around each other for long enough, commitments to Midgard, to New Asgard, the interdimensional realm all reasons for none of them to speak their feelings. Loki knew that Anthony had been betrayed by those he loved, he and Stephen had spoken about it late at night over a glass of wine, and in turn, he knew Stephen and Anthony were being cautious with him because of his own emotional scars.
3: I’m currently working on this Tumblr prompt: Oh, oh, hear me out! Intimacy prompt #10 going on a date, but Villain!IronStrange or just one of them is villain 😅, and it’s still a little rough around the edges, but I’m hoping to have it up this week!
‘Remember when I said I was busy? That you should only contact the Sanctum if it was-’
‘An emergency, yeah I know, Doc. But I think standing opposite your goth doppelganger with the twisted evil Cloak was reason enough,’ Tony shouted as he stumbled over the boxes littering the floor of his lab, unable to break free of the stare from the evil apparition of Stephen Strange.
Thank you for the ask!!

Masterlist!
I just spent the last three hours rebooting my masterlist to make sure it’s tidy, legible, and updated! It looks completely different and I’m really happy with it. There’s a link to it on my blog, but to anyone who may want it in the form of a textpost, I’ve done that for y’all too. Hope this is helpful to someone out there :)
In each section (one-shots, headcanons, and multi-chapters), the most recent works are at the top. This means the further you go down, the older the fics become. I have written multiple drabbles on this blog, but they are not included on my masterlist. Just search ‘drabble’ on my blog and they’ll come up.
As of 2020, my imagines do not use any type of pronouns or biological descriptions (i.e, breasts or genitalia) unless the fic is smut. This is to make my work as inclusive as I can.
Last updated: July 16th, 2020

✨A love story of a villain who was never actually a villain ❤️💚✨ Episode 6
Tumblr media
✨A love story of a villain who was never actually a villain ❤️💚✨ Episode 6
Normally these construction works would take years on earth...or as loki would say midgard...but if two gods are getting the work done....we can set the seal real early...
So you didn't have much work on your hands... that's why you started to help the common people of the village in their daily chores...and if you had any spare time you strolled around admiring the beauty of this old Asgardian town Hedeby...by helping the villagers you were able to talk them out of their ill views about loki..you were making them to change their opinions for loki...
Most of them already started to like him...loki was feeling much better about himself...that he can be liked too...
All three of you were staying in a shed made of wood in the corner of the village...it wasn't a royal one...a normal shed with just 3 beds inside and a small stove to cook some food.
Its the third day now since your arrival...thor and loki are almost on the verge of concluding the work here...you just woke up...thor and loki were already working....you were still sleepy...ahhh but these asgardians... they rise up with the sun...so its not polite to stay in bed for too long...so you just got out of your bed and went to see them...
You - howdy workers!
Thor - what is howdy?
Loki - maybe its a midgardian slang..just ignore her
You - heyyy...you can't ignore me
Loki - well you know what darling..
I CAN!
Thor - will you both stop?
Loki made a funny face and got to work...
You - well how long are we staying here??
Thor - maybe a day or two...hey if you wanna head back to palace...you can go without us..
Loki - NO...(he shouted suddenly)....umm i mean its just 2 days at max...she can leave with us..
Thor - but we are doing all the work here...she doesn't have to stay...if she wants she can leave.. and i guess she is getting bored here... don't know why you brought her at the first place...
Loki - she is kind of my moral support...
Thor - what???
Loki - (covering up) i mean i get to make fun or her....brother...kind of entertainment you know!(winking)
You - so i am just a clown for you ?
Loki - Thy truth be told!! (he bowed in a dramatic way)
His words were a little upsetting for you...you left...on your way towards your shed you met an old lady who was carrying a bag which looked heavy...
You - good morning mam...can i help you with that?
Old lady - ohh thankyou so much darling...its really heavy...and at this age its really difficult to carry these things all by yourself ...and please call me linda...
You - alright linda...
You took the load from her and started walking with her along with some chatter...she asked you about who you are and what you were doing there...when you reached to her house... you saw that it was very messy...so you offered to help her with the cleaning....after cleaning you made some soup for her...
You - here's your soup linda!
Linda - oh thankyou darling...i have no one who can look after me...its nice to have someone around..
Meanwhile Loki enters...
Loki - Good lord!!..where the hell you have been?? I have been looking for you since you left...! I was asking everyone about you....at last a kid told me he saw you heading in this direction...(he sounded desparate)
You - oh so you got bored...and were looking for your clown???
Loki - ohhhh c'mon...i was just kidding...and what are you doing here?
You - i was just helping her...do you want some soup??
Loki - oh please no...just come with me...
You - where? To a circus where i can show you some tricks to entertain you sir?
Loki - performing tricks...i think that's my game .. not yours... now just come with me please...
You - please..? (Shocked) this might be pretty serious... alright lets go...(turning to linda) i'll see you later ...and let me know if you need any help..
Linda - see you darling! (Slurping her soup)
You started walking with loki...
You - so where are we going??
Loki - I felt bad for earlier...so i thought i should take you out for a tour...as this is one of the oldest town of asgard...and also i wanted you to come with me...(he paused for a second)...umm and yeah thor said he can handle all the work .. so don't worry about that...
You - alright...i'll come with you..but its...its just you sometimes behave like i am nothing to you...just an entertainer right? (In an upsetting voice)
Loki - its not true (stopping)...you are more than that to me...
You - then what am i?
Loki came closer...he stared at you for a moment with admiration...then his eyes were on your lips....he seemed lost....you were nervous what he was gonna answer...then he kind of shook his head..
Loki - you...you are not just an entertainer....you.... you are....an annoying midgardian as well!! (Chuckled)
You - OH SHUT UP!(hiding your smile)
You were angry... but who can stay mad for much longer at this handsome face ??....you both started walking again...after some time you arrived at a tiny hill...
Loki - so here we are....behind this hill ...there is a cottage....we used to visit here when we were just kids.. me and thor...with our mother and father... there is an old graveyard were our ancestors are buried...
You - really? A grave? You made me walk this long ...just to show a graveyard??
Loki - umm its....my mother...she is buried here...(his face turned dry)
You - ohh loki...i am so sorry..i didn't know..
Loki - no no its okayyy...you know what...she was really pretty and caring...she is the one who loved me unconditionally (with tears in his eyes) ...
You - (holding his hand) lets meet her...
You both started walking towards the cottage....it was a wooden cottage...kind of red...but it looked ancient..it had a yard in front with some pine trees......there was a graveyard on its left..it had a large silver gate with a statue of a winged lady on top...she was gorgeous...
You - is that her? You mother?? (Pointing towards the winged lady)
Loki - yes...
You - she is gorgeous!!
Loki smiled.
You both entered the graveyard...there were about hundreds of graves...the slow wind passing through the graves and the leaves rustling...gave you the heebie-jeebies...but he was still holding your hand so you felt safe...
Loki - (pointing towards a grave) here she is...
You both stood in front of the grave for some minutes..."Frigga - queen of Asgard" was engraved on her gravestone....loki was chanting some asgardian prayer.. then you both sat near a tree in the corner..
You - may i ask you something? If its okay..?
Loki - ya sure...
You - how did your mother die? I mean can gods die?
Loki - Yes...but we can't die a normal death like humans do...we can be killed through some special weapons that are made to kill gods...and we don't have a soul...so we just vanish after we die...but my mother....she was a witch....so i guess she is still watching over me... sometimes it feels like she is still here with me...
And yes about her death....there was a plot against my father's throne... there was this platoon of around 10 people who wanted to take over my father's throne...they found those weapons...they tried to kill him .. but my mother came in between trying to save him...and...(he stuttered and tried to hide his tears)
You - heyyy... Its okay...you can cry...
You placed your hand on his lap...
Loki - no umm... i am alright...thanks anyway...
You - hey but umm.. why are you sharing this with me? I mean you don't really open up with everyone...so why me?
Loki - I don't know exactly...but i think i kind of feel safe with you...that you won't judge me or something.... everyone thinks that i am evil...you are the first one who thinks i am loving, caring and what not..
You - you forgot hot...(winking)
Loki - (smiling) yes that too...
You - well you could have said these things earlier ... Instead of annoying midgardian...
Loki - (laughing) but that's true too ...
You smiled at him..
You - heyy and you know what?
Loki - what now?
You - i wasn't going to leave in the first place...but i liked that how you shouted "no" when thor was suggesting me to head back...
Loki - i am glad... But really... why are you staying here? When you can enjoy the royalty at the palace...
You - to be honest...i don't enjoy all that royalty....i like staying here...with you...and i came here to be with you... to support you...right?? so how can i leave without you?? (Smiling)
Loki's face bloomed like a cherry tree...
You - hey mr. All tough?? Are you blushing??? (Teasing him)
Loki - nooooo.... (In a shy tone)
Suddenly you both heard some weird howling sound... coming from the opposite side of the cottage...loki asked you to stay there only...and went to check what was happening...you asked to come with him but he said that there can be some wild animals who finds human flesh tasty and it was almost dark....so you stayed behind...
All of a sudden you heard a strange ghostly voice echoing while you were walking around...
Voice - come to me Y/N (whispering)
You were so frightened..you couldn't move...but you thought it was loki messing around again...so you headed towards the strange sound...you saw nothing.... suddenly wind rustled...it felt like someone touched your hand and went away floating with the wind towards a grave...it was a spooky incident...but you went anyway..you were curious and wanted to know about that grave and to whom it belonged... it was an old grave... An Epitaph was engraved on a black gravestone...but it was dusty ...you cleaned that gravestone with your hands to read it...the epitaph was "Aslaug Skuld" "a true devotee of god"...there was a pile of leaves on the grave...something was shining below this pile...you dusted out the leaves...there was a locket....you picked it up...it was a hexagon shaped pendant...made of shiny black stone.... something was engraved on the behind of it in some foreign language.. may be asgardian... Suddenly you felt a little dizziness in your head.... everything was blurry now...you threw away the locket and you sat there for a minute holding your head...
Meanwhile loki returned...
Loki - oh it was just a pack of wolves... nothing to worry about...(seeing you) hey what happened why are you sitting here like this(in a worried tone)
You - i ....i heard something...and my head....its just a little dizzy....
Loki - you sound exhausted...when was the last time you ate something?
You - maybe last night...
Loki - what in odin's name you are fasting for? (Angrily)
You - hey i was just busy...
Loki - yaa making soups....now c'mon get up...we should head back...
You got up ...but you were still feeling light-headed....you tripped over a stone.. but loki got a hold of you in time....
Loki - hey come here...let me help...
Loki placed his hand on your waist...and the other one under your thighs...and picked you up...
You - you don't have to do this..
Loki - its alright...this is the least i can do...and i am a god you know...its real easy for me so just let me do it....
You wrapped you your arms around his neck....you were constantly staring at him....this reminded you about your dream and for a moment you forgot what just happened at the grave....you got lost in him....
He carried you to the shed and helped you to get into the bed and tucked you in.... usually thor was the one to cook food but he was out having some drinks with the villagers...so loki cooked some oatmeal for you...
You - can't you cook something with your magic?(while he was serving the oatmeal)
Loki - no it doesn't work that way...its just an illusion....(handing you the bowl)
You - ohh it means... its good for nothing...(teasing him)
Loki - (twitching his eyes) oh just eat it...i don't want you to die...your death will be on my hands if i won't feed you...
You - i was just kidding..this oatmeal looks really good...
Loki - you don't have to lie... thor is a good cook i know that... you can eat something tasty when he'll be back...for now have some oatmeal to atleast survive (sitting beside you on the bed)
You - umm loki ...you know what?
Loki - what?
You - taste doesn't matter.... efforts do...and you made this for me because you were worried about my health...so this is the tastiest meal i can ever have(smiling)
Loki smiled and cupped your face with one hand...he didn't say anything but his eyes were showing how concerned he was for you....he came closer...you wanted to kiss him...but you were afraid to take a step....he pulled you in...your head was on his chest....he was rubbing your arm to give you some comfort....you wrapped your arms around him...this was comforting!! It felt like home...that all the troubles in the world can just go away with a hug...you were already feeling better now....you moved apart from him after some moment...
You - i should eat now...(smiling)
Loki - umm yes....and i'll go and see where thor is...i'll be back soon...
Loki took his asgsrdian leather jacket and left....you finished your meal..it wasn't too bad...and for you it was the best meal...after eating you started preparing the beds....
Suddenly...the wind started rustling again... the lamps started flickering and got blowed out by the wind..
It got really dark in there....you heard the same strange voice.. similar to the one you heard in the graveyard...you felt little unsteady....you were frightened...you wanted to get out of this shed...you rushed towards the door...but it was locked...you tried to open it but the lock was stucked....you started to bang the door using your full strength....your palms started to bleed....you screamed for help on top of you voice...
You - HELP!!!! IS SOMEONE OUT THERE????LOKIIIIIII...???!!!
No one answered... It was pitch dark in the shed and that strange voice was echoing through the walls in asgardian language... suddenly black smoke emerged from no where near the window...it took the shape of a woman...it had long hair...it looked like she was trying to communicate with you....you were terrified and still trying to unlock the door.....that smoke figure pointed towards your pocket....you saw some light was coming out of it ....you put your hand in your pocket and took that thing out of it that was glowing....
It was that black stone PENDANT!!!
When you looked back up...that smoke thingy was gone....but you were horrified finding that pendant in your pocket..!

The Sweet of Night – Loki Laufeyson – Part 3
Tumblr media
-gif source-
Description: After growing up besides Loki and having a complicated friendship with him, you visit him in his cell at night.
Warnings/Labels: None I don’t think.
Approx. Word Count: 3,300
A/N: If you’re new to me, you’ll learn this pretty quickly; my updates are SUPER sporadic and I apologize.
Story Materpost
You let your fingers dance over the spines of the books kept inside your chambers. You’ve been going over their titles and plots in your head for the better part of your morning which had started a little early. You’d risen just before the sun, sending your request for breakfast to be brought to your room in a few short hours. You need to make a decision before Katerina comes however.
You pull one out from the shelf, an older leather bound book lined with bits of gold. You’ve read it many times. It’s one of your favorites. But would he like it? A romance novel? It was exciting with battles and heroes and villains with depth, but at its heart it is still a romance. You’re running out of time so you finally decide it will do and put it at your desk. You sit down and quickly scribble a note on a page of spare paper to slip into its cover.
As you finish, there’s a knock at the door. You get up to answer the door perhaps a little too quickly as Katerina’s startled look tells you. You greet her with a smile and open your door wide for her.
“Good Morning my Lady,” she says gently, crossing one ankle behind the other to give a small curtsy. You’ve told her time and time again that was not needed, but she seldom listened when you told her to forgo the formalities. They help to keep her quiet, demure appearance alive and keep many away from the truth.
“Katerina,” you call her attention as she enters and places the tray of food on your desk. “I have a favor to request.” You can tell her interest is piqued when you close your door by the small tilt in her head as she raises her eyebrows in response. “You are tasked with bringing Loki his meals, are you not?” You can see the wheels turning in her mind.
“I am,” she confirms, voice still small and innocent. She stands straight up, not a single strand of her amber hair falling out the tight bun she’d put it in.
“I need you to bring him something for me,” you tell her. “With discretion,” you emphasize. Her eyes dart around the room, shoulders stiffening in order to portray an uncomfortable air. You hold in a small chuckle. “Oh come now,” you smile at her as she continues to hold her façade. “This is a very small ask of someone who smuggles as well as you.” She knits her brows together.
“I’m not sure what you mean, my Lady,” she sputters. Honestly, she’s quite good. Not good enough to convince you, but quite good nonetheless.
“I’m not interested in prosecuting you,” you assure her. “Your crimes are nonviolent and quite frankly, minuscule. I’m not concerned with potent herbs and alcohols and love notes passed between nobles.” You can tell she knows that she’s been caught, but she keeps her composure all the same. “I simply ask that when you bring Loki his meal, you give him this as well.” You reach down and pick up the book to hand it to her.
“A book?” Her voice is less timid now that her ruse was up. She takes it and turns it in her hands, looking for some hidden secret to it. “May I ask why you simply don’t deliver this yourself?”
“Deliveries are forbidden to the Prince’s cell, even from Thor himself.” It’s the truth, whether it is a punishment or a precaution you aren’t entirely sure. Even if the rule was not in place, giving gifts to a war criminal would not bode well for you.
“That makes this quite a risk for me.” She holds the book in her hands, close to her body. “As you said, my previous crimes have been of a much smaller nature.” She’s clearly not concerned. The job is simple and fairly easy to complete with little risk of being caught. You know what she’s aiming for and you must admit, you admire her finesse.
“The favor, of course, comes with payment.” You hand her a small satchel of high value coins that had also been resting on your desk. She’s pleased with this and she smiles, opening her robe enough to slip the book inside and under her arm.
“Delivery will be made this morning.” You pass smiles for each other before escorting her back to the door.
“Thank you, Katerina.” She gives another polite curtsy before she retreats into the halls.
---
You take Loki’s advice tonight on coming to visit him sooner. You tell yourself it’s for his amusement, that he wants you for a longer period of time, but you know the truth is that you’re impatient. You’ve been excited to see him all day. Ever since Katerina left your chambers, all you could think of was going to see Loki. Did he get your book? Did he appreciate it? Did he scoff?
As soon as it’s late enough that the halls are mostly empty, you’re slipping out of your room and swiftly heading towards the prison. The guards still say nothing to you, but you give them a small smile and nod, the need to acknowledge their presence not one you like to ignore.
Loki is at the barrier wall, already waiting for you when you round the corner, his hands neatly placed behind his back. His eyes lift when he sees you, a small smirk already making its way onto his lips.
“You know, I never much cared for breakfast,” he tells you as you manage to hold off on your smile. “It comes at an odd hour and it’s always too sweet.” You have to force yourself not to look over his room, to try to see where he kept the book. Instead, you keep your face neutral as you come closer. “But this morning, there was something a little different to it.”
“Oh?” you feign innocently. His lips quirk up in a small smirk, amused by your game.
“It was arranged in the most careful fashion, practically like artwork with the bowl of oats on a cloth covered platform and the fruit arranged to resemble a flower on a lower level.” He’s at an angle, almost casually leaning his shoulder against the barrier. Eyes looking towards the ceiling, acting like he’s recalling the arrangement. “Curious it was. When I went to investigate, I found someone has been putting our servant girl’s smuggling talents to use.” He brings his hands out from behind his back, your book cradled in one of them.
“I wasn’t aware you were privy to Katerina’s hobby.” It’s where your true source of surprise comes from, the book forgotten for a moment. His smirk widens.
“Do you truly believe you’re the only one who has requested items be brought discreetly to me?” Honestly, you hadn’t considered it before, but no. You suppose you wouldn’t have been the only one. It raises a question about the security of Asgard’s prison, but you tuck it away to worry about later. And if this wasn’t Katerina’s first time sneaking things to Loki, it also means your payment to her was quite over generous. “This was far from my usual deliveries, however.” He looks down at the book and turns it over in his hand. You choose to remain quiet, waiting to gauge his reaction. As he turns it in his palm and flips the cover open, you notice a sliver of colored paper peeking out from the pages; a bookmark, nearly half way through. “A little less dull than your history books,” he reads your brief note aloud. “How thoughtful.” He raises his eyes to you, a sarcastic sparkle reflecting. “Do you think me a romantic?”
“A man full of mystery who speaks in a nearly poetic nature?” you muse, shifting your eyes up to the ceiling in thought. “I think there’s potential for a romantic in you. Romance was not the reason behind it however.”
“You don’t mean to seduce me through books?” he teases. You pull your robe tighter around yourself and scoff at him.
“Hardly.” He snaps the book closed with one hand, holding it by its spine. He lowers the book and folds his other hand over it, letting his arms rest comfortably in front of his body.
“So disappointing.” He smiles lightly and you’re compelled to return the gesture. “So tell me then, what was the reason for this?” His chin tilts down to the book.
“It’s one of my favorites,” you admit. “I thought you might enjoy it.”
“Concerned for my entertainment, are you?” His smirk belittles you and you look away.
“Must you always mock me for trying to be kind?” Your voice is much more timid than you wish it to be. You are a strong woman and yet Loki holds some kind of power over you, making you feel vulnerable. His face suggests the slightest notion of surprise at your hurt.
“Your kindness is… difficult to take at face value.” He does not meet your eyes when you look at him. There is a hardness and hesitation to his tone. Is he regretting his own proposal of honesty already?
“You do not think me genuine?” You attempt not to be offended. “Have I ever given you reason to believe my kindness is meant to be trickery?” Again, you find yourself pulling your robe tighter around yourself.
“No one is kind to monsters,” he states. “And I am but a monster.” His posture is tall and straight; sure of his monstrosity as if it is a badge he wears. Your eyes narrow and though you know it’s hard for others to do, you see through the façade.
“No,” you say plainly. “You are not so easily defined by a single moniker.” His eyes turn cold.
“Did you not see images of Midgard?” His sharp, even tone sends a chill down your spine. It’s so easy to forget that behind his charm and lean body, there’s a powerful and intimidating God underneath. “Were you not at the trial where they listed my crimes, my atrocities, my sins?”
“I saw the images,” you whisper. “But I did not attend your trial.” You were one of the few that did not. It had been a large event in Asgard and while it ended up being closed to the public, the attendance was still quite large and had you wanted, you could have gone. You meant to. You’d dressed for it, but instead had sat on your bed and didn’t get up. You just couldn’t watch. Loki looks surprised at this and his head tilts ever so slightly.
“When I didn’t see your face, I had assumed you were simply hidden away in the back.” It’s your turn to tilt your head questioningly at him.
“You looked for me?” You internally scold yourself for feeling fluttery at the thought.
“Your usual seat was strikingly empty,” he says, shrugging as though it was an afterthought. “It would have been hard not to notice your absence.” A short silence falls between you as he analyzes you. Trying to keep your face a stone, trying not to give him anything to read off of you, you feel stiff and statuesque. “Why did you not attend?” he finally asks.
“Because…” you pause, many excuses bubbling up in you. “I simply didn’t want to.” He instantly tsks his tongue at you.
“Ah-ah,” he chides. “Honesty, remember?” His chin tilts down as he eyes you carefully. You huff, frustrated with yourself or him you’re not entirely sure. You cross your arms over your chest, looking at anything, but him.
“I couldn’t.” It’s the truth, though it still feels like a lie. You continue quickly, knowing he’s going to ask you why anyways. “I wasn’t ready to see you like that. Bound in chains and sentenced for war crimes. It felt like you were someone else.” He glances towards the floor and looks almost shameful.
“But it was me,” he says.
“Why?” Your voice croaks and you take a step towards the barrier. “Why did you do it?” He does not look up at you.
“The same reason I did what I did here,” he says coldly. “I wanted to rule.”
“No,” you tell him, trying to mimic his tone. “The truth,” you demand.
“That is the truth!” he snaps at you, lifting his head so quickly it startles you. There’s something in his eyes, behind the anger, that draws you in. Is it fear? You breathe slowly, choosing your words carefully.
“Then what aren’t you saying?” You’re gentle this time, uncrossing your arms and letting go of your tension, hoping to appear unjudgemental and unconfrontational. He squeezes the book tightly between his fingers.
“I was… unwell,” he says after a time. “The scepter, it has the power to twist things. It can manipulate you and make you see things very differently if you are not careful.” His mouth curls into a disgusted snarl. “In my haste to get what I wanted, I was not careful.” You do not doubt his words. The images you saw of him on Midgard were unsettling; tired, vacant eyes with dark circles around them. Unwell would be an understatement to you.
“Did you tell this to the council?” Surely manipulation and mind control would be grounds for a lesser sentence, would they not? He smiles with no joy and looks at you bitterly.
“To what purpose? My actions were still my own. I could have stepped away, but I did not.” There’s acceptance in his voice, but maybe something else too. Perhaps he felt shame and embarrassment that the great trickster himself was played the fool. Perhaps he held some regret for his actions and wanted punishment. Maybe he didn’t even know what it was that truly kept him from defending himself.
“Perhaps if you had, I’d be able to visit you without this barrier.” You reach out and touch it gently, running your fingers down it and watching the way the yellow chases your fingertips. His face softens.
“Are you implying you wish to touch me?” There’s so many layers to the question that you’re unsure how to answer it. You don’t have a desire to rush into his arms and hug him or hold his hand or even pat him on the back. When you think about it, you have no reason to touch him. And yet, there’s something that pulls you to the wall between the two of you, something that makes you reach out and touch it and wish its existence away.
“It’s not about touch,” you conclude. “It’s about distance. I prefer to be in the same room as the people I’m speaking to. The occasional flicker of the barrier, especially when it happens across your face, just makes you look like an illusion.” Loki steps up and places his fingers over yours. The extra vibration from his touch sends a flutter through you.
“Are you sure there’s no desire to touch?” he teases, not oblivious to your reaction. You look up at him, watch his face when you flatten your palm to the barrier and his follows your actions. His whole body leans in, his weight in his hand as if he could push through the wall. His eyes are on your hand and then drift towards your body.
“Are you asking because you are hoping for a certain answer?” you counter.
“Answering a question with a question is, uncharacteristically, a form of avoidance.” His weight comes off his hand, leaning away but not withdrawing just yet. You hum at him.
“And where do you think I learned that from?” The quirk of his lips suggests a small sense of pride in himself and it makes you release a breath of a laugh. “Regardless of it all,” You let your hand come off of the barrier, the tingle on your palm remaining for a few seconds. “The barrier remains.”
“That it does, for now.” He takes a few steps back before turning away from you and walking towards his bed. While the tag at the end of his sentence has you curious, you would assume that as a dismissal. He continues to speak to you, however. “So tell me of your day.”
“My day?” The request is not anything like you expected.
“Yes.” He places your book on his bedside table and turns back to you, arms open. “I would tell you of mine, but I’m afraid there’s not much to tell.”
“I’m afraid there’s not much to tell of my day either.” The corner of your lips drag down in an apologetic frown as you shrug. “I met with Asgard’s workmen on their progress in repairing the west court gate.” It sounds extremely dull to you, but Loki’s brow furrows in interest.
“What happened to the gate that caused its need for repair?” he asks, sitting himself back onto the edge of his bed. “It’s a sturdy gate and I can’t imagine anyone trying to attack it.” You can’t resist the humored smile on your lips.
“Oh, no, certainly not. Weeks ago Volstagg, drunken of course, ran a mount into it.” You chuckle as Loki’s eyes widen in concern. “The mount was in full armor and completely unharmed,” you assure him. “The gate was quite bent however.”
“I can imagine,” he comments, a hint of an amused smile peeking through. “Well, keep on,” he encourages when you pause in your telling. “Tell me everything. Tell me of your day, of Asgard’s events, of everything.”
You think that he must be very bored as his interest seems genuine. You smile and oblige him, thinking back over the last years for stories he might find intriguing. You stay for over an hour, finding yourself laughing with him over humorous events and pondering over more serious ones. You only take your leave when you run out stories and when your feet start to ache from standing.
“You know it’s rude to sit while your guest cannot,” you chide him teasingly.
“My guests are usually treated to more than just a seat when they visit my chambers,” he assures, his flirtation clear. “But I am lacking the ability to accommodate at the moment.” He points forward, not towards you, but to the barrier.
“I suppose that’s an adequate excuse,” you concede, giving an exaggerated eye roll. You both give a small chuckle before you shift your weight once again and stretch your arms out. “I do believe I’m going to retire though.”
“By all means.” He gives you a wave with his hand, giving a show of shooing you away and then casually leaning back.
“Good evening, Loki.” You tuck your chin in the smallest bow with your head and turn to leave when he calls your name. You look over your shoulder at him.
“Thank you,” he says softly. “For the book. I’ll make sure our resident smuggler gets it back to you shortly.”
“Take your time,” you tell him with a smile. “Enjoy it.” His eyes briefly run down your body.
“Oh, I think I will.”

tyrian will kill nora  but nora will kill him as well (mutual kill )
Tumblr media Tumblr media
while tyrian was caught in mistral it was by a joint operation by both atlas and mistral what if the reason why atlas got involved   is because he killed important people from atlas and its been stated that we will get some nora backstory in v7 and its long been thought that  nora is from mantle but she ended up orphaned in mistral
maybe noras parents went to mistral for a  trip  and tyrian ended up killing them  with the kidnapping part being a separate crime or since he is wanted for kidnapping he could have kidnapped nora (which solves the hole  that some people pointed out in the nora is from mantle theory of  how would such a little kid get that far from home all alone? ) but nora didn’t see his face or was so traumatized that she blocked it out  which is why she didn’t recognize tyrian when they met in v4  or she was just too young
and  I believe that fria is noras grandmother  fria has been stated that she doesnt really have any family left if she is noras grandma it would fit given that noras parents were killed and she was kidnapped  ( and likely assumed dead )
so what if nora is in frias last thoughts and nora gains the winter maiden powers
greekgeekgoddess . tumblr . com/post/189399396548/winter-wont-become-the-winter-maiden/embed
Tumblr media
Okay time for the theory goggles to get back on. And yes I am aware this theory will be seen as a stretch. But as a writer. There is a possibility. And this latest episode added another piece for me.
Tumblr media
It’s gonna be Nora Valkyrie everyone.
And I already here you all scrunching your faces and saying.
“Kai, how would that even happen…”
And here’s some points.
Winter outright states that Ironwood plans to make her the next Winter Maiden. They even show us the current one.
And while I can see how people would believe Winter has a shot, I’m not so sure.
Granted she has been visiting the Winter Maiden for a year. Exchanging pleasantries and stuff. And yes being the only person for Fria to talk to does give more of a chance. But this isnt textbook.
It has been stated clearly. That whoever is in the maiden’s final thoughts gains the power.
What does that have to do with Nora? Well I’ll tell you.
So at RTX 2019, Miles and Kerry shared some things to look forward to. One of which being more Nora story. And to be fair we have been getting some. Romance angst with Ren, her intense care and insight on Mantle. (Which makes me think she is from this kingdom).
But I feel we can do better.
And why? Why am I so convinced that Nora is the one who will get it in the end?
RWBY CHIBI surprisingly.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
*Looks directly to CRWBY like off of The Office* “That’s right you sly dogs. I caught that!”
SO HERE WE ARE YOU READY?!
We know that in Volume 4, Nora was already orphaned before Ren.
Tumblr media
And yes the local kids were teasing her. But they said things to the effect that she looked like she was dressed weird.
Like they weren’t used to seeing her type of clothes.
What is it similar to.
MANTLE CLOTHING
Who is her family you ask?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her grandmother. Her possibly last relative. I do believe Nora’s mother and father had died. Making Fria her sole relative. Who probably raised her.
LOVED HER
NEVER FORGOT HER
THINKS OF HER CONSTANTLY
What I mean is. “IF”, and I could be wrong. But I’m throwing my hat in. IF THEY ARE A GRANDMOTHER AND GRANDDAUGHTER. Then there is a chance that Fria never let Nora be erased from her heart. Even if she thinks Nora died in whatever happened that separated them. She would think of her granddaughter as she died. Not Winter.
Dont get me wrong Winter is wonderful. But knowing how crafty the CRWBY can be at times… my money is on Nora until proven otherwise.
(Update)
I would also like to add two more points.
Fria’s eyes are the same color as Nora’s, though hopefully we can get a better look at them later on.
Also. Fria’s name. Is a different spelling of the name Freya based off of.
Tumblr media
The old Norse goddess Freya.
And we all know Nora is based on Thor.
Little fun fact. Thor = Thursday
Freya = Friday” plus in norse mythology thor disguised himself as freya to get his hammer back and nora is based on that story ( the theme of jnpr is that they are all based off of characters/person ( in jaunes case )  who crossdressed in their stories and are of the opposite sex  (or in other words you could say they are chosen  )  and that story is why thor was chosen as her inspiration which is why it would be a fitting reference for thor to take up frias mantle  as winter maiden  in a twist to the myth rather than disguising herself as fria nora takes up her position
and of course nora becoming the winter maiden will put a target on her back and tyrian kidnapping nora and killing her parents is a perfect set up to a confrontation between the two possibly with nora  if/when she finds out deciding to go after him.
in a sense like ren she goes against the monster who killed her parents
 oh
and I think it will end with the two of them causing each others deaths tyrian has a poisonous scorpion tail and noras inspiration thor died via poison  killing the midgard serpent and then dying due to poison afterwards in a mutual kill and tyrians inspiration is the scorpion from scorpion and the frog who was willing to sting the frog killing it even if it meant his own death and there are alot of parallels between v7 and v3 )
shattering-the-mirror . tumblr . com/post/189545999830/i-think-we-have-a-problem-volume-7-and-volume-3 “it will be just like beacon again
and nora vs tyrian will be a maiden powered member of team jnpr vs a member of salems circle a bit of a flip on cinder  vs pyrrha ( a maiden powered member of salems circle ) vs a member of team jnpr
so both of their inspirations end up dying after doing something which causes someone elses death though while with  noras inspiration it was in a fight in the villain tyrians it was due to the scorpions nature so I think nora and tyrian will cause each others deaths like tyrian killing nora but dying due to the injuries he sustained  ( he couldnt resist continuing after her ) or nora landing mortal blow but dying due to tyrians poison  etc
plus ren had to face the grimm who killed his parents nora will have to face the person who killed hers

A Savior In Our Midst Chapter 1 (Loki Original Fic)
A Savior In Our Midst: Original Post Endgame Loki Laufeyson Fic
(Loki X Being a manipulative dumbass)
Fic Summary: The 70s were the time to be alive.
Music. Drugs. Sex.
Or so Loki had heard.
Time did not pass the same way for the frost giant and when the 70s were taking place he was in Asgard following the orders of his father and the shadow of his brother.
In Asgard he did everything but what he wanted.
He wanted mischief and they wanted civility.
Midgard was becoming too much like Asgard. With every passing story Loki cringed at their humane actions and boring adventures.
Midgard did not need a protector. It needed a savior.
It needed to be saved from its grasp of silly humanity and shown the proper way of life. A life of chaos and mischief. Oh how much fun they would have if they could just see it.
He would guide them. Make his way to the top so that he could save them from their own tormented minds of self free will.
He would manipulate but for the first time in his life for a purpose bigger than himself.
They prayed to a god that did not answer their prayers, their desires, or their needs.
They cried out for someone somewhere to just save them. To make things better.
And who was Loki to deny the cries of so many helpless mewling quim?
Word Count: 1.5 K
Warnings: NONE
Authors Note: This fic will mainly be wrote in first person point of view but please before you audibly groan give it a chance. Just read and you might be surprised. This is 2012 Loki after stealing the tesseract in Endgame. This fic will follow his manipulation of time and people.
Tumblr media
Did you know that if you steal a valuable space stone that you can alter a timeline for the better good of humanity? Me either but today I learned.
Today? Yesterday? I have no clue because time doesn’t work where I am.
The point is those vexing midgardians refused to acknowledge me as their rightful king. Those damn fools. With the help of their so called heroes they shackled me and was going to return me back to Asgard. Are they so blinded with their own self pity and humanity that they cannot see when there is a savior in their presence? I was going to save them. I was going to return their planet to the best state it could be in; chaos.
They thought they had won. HA. I am Loki of Jotunheim and I always have a trick up my sleeve.
There I was plotting my great escape when the shiny blue key to my success came sliding across the floor.
I was like damn talk about a sign from the gods. Ha I am the God.
I had planned of shifting into that pestering patriotic super freak and fighting my way out but when I see a easy exit I take it.
I would like to state now that I have no prior experience of altering the timeline but those foolish humans just couldn’t submit. I just wanted a throne. A place to rule and make my own. A place far from my lying deceitful father. He always told me blah blah protect earth blah blah protect the precious humans. They didn’t need protected. They needed saved. They spent their free time doing acts of goodness or worse laying in their beds. I had the power and the experience to make their lives happy again.
Those humans. So foolish and oblivious.
I hear them crying out for a god to make things better and then when I do they cry out I’m a monster a villain.
Me a monster? I know I killed people and destroyed half a city but I DID IT FOR THEM. This is what I get for trying to do a good thing.
They let lying buffoons run their government but when I, a very knowledgeable, honest, and determined frost giant, try they act like it would be the end of their world. I would make a great king. I would never lie; maybe withhold the truth at time but I would NEVER lie straight to their faces. Manipulation is my passion but they would be treated well. Wine, parties, drugs, women, like what more could they want.
Most people would be deterred from their original plan. Contemplate the consequences for their actions. Those people are weak minded. This is all the more reason to push forward. If I stopped just cause someone asked me to my life would be boring and meaningless. Like those midgardians.
Unlike them when I see something I want I take it. When that tesseract came by way I did what all knowledgeable people would do and pick it up. I’m not a genius but there’s not a thing I’ve never not been able to manipulate.
If the chance to rule over the midgardians arose again I would take it. I would devise a scheme even greater than my last. Here I am of my own control now.
Before my mind was full of voices that did not belong to me. Voices of those that wished to manipulate me. I would overcome it and see the world collapsing and blood failing. And then there I was with my vision grayed like I was not the one in control.
Here where I may reside. My mind is clear. My powers strong. I could rule the midgardians well and dammit I will.
I’m colder. Cold for a frost giant.
I manipulated the tesseract alright. Manipulated it and me into a another time dimension. Wasn’t the plan but it would suffice.
I guess when you manipulate one of the most powerful stones in existence something is bound to happen. The thing is since poofing out of the midgardian realm of time into this unknown one I haven’t felt the same.
My body courses as if I was struck by lightening. I feel as though I am feeling my electrons sparking throughout my body.
My head aches and my eyes are dilated.
It feels as though I’m not the only one inhabiting this body.
I am the God of Tricks but I feel as though I’m trapped in an illusion.
I keep popping in and out of different realms. I’m not sure of my whereabouts but the tesseract is gone. I haven’t seen it since I picked it up.
This is all happening in the course of seconds, minutes, days. Since starting this line of thoughts I’ve traveled into 3 different dimensions.
If I could just control this. To slow it down. To manipulate it. I could make a fresh beginning. One that guaranteed my ruling of these shameful and desperate humans. This was my great redo.
Death nor torture can stop me. This can’t either.
There’s nothing I’ve never not been able to manipulate.
I AM LOKI OF JOTUNHEIM AND I DEMAND CONTROL.

worth my while // prologue
main masterlist | thor masterlist | ko-fi | p. 1
Tumblr media
Summary: After being banished from his home, Thor Odinson has stopped at nothing to prove himself worthy of his throne, title, and power.
After losing the love of your life, you turned to a power you didn’t understand.
You know you shouldn’t get involved. But how could you not?
Pairing: Thor x Reader (Hercules au...kind of...)
A/N: Alright! First fic in...like 5 months! Awesome! I’ve been working really hard on this for a while, and there are some things you’ll need to know before you dive in!
1. This is SUPER vaguely based on Disney’s Hercules. That means that the villain is super cartoonish and kind of typical. Honestly I just really love the relationship between Hercules and Meg and wanted to work with that dynamic, so this is what came out of that need.
2. I’ve played A LOT with MCU timelines. Basically, instead of going home after defeating the Destroyer (in Thor 2011), Thor is left on Earth, but he’s given his power and proved his worthiness to wield Mjölnir. He gets into what happens to him personally after that, but what you need to know is that he’s present for every Avengers event after that. This ends before Ragnarok would take place, but the idea is that, very soon after all of this, Ragnarok would take place. If anything is confusing, you can definitely send me a message and I’ll try to clear things up!
3. I am not going to include a taglist from here on out. It’s a lot of work to keep up. Maybe I can be convinced to do a story taglist, but I won’t be keeping up with a global/permanent list.
I’m excited about this one! It’s a little nerdy and a little fun, maybe not quite as personal as Sugar was for me, but definitely one I’m happy with. Let me know what you think!
Warnings: Violence, lots of angst, borderline abuse and definite manipulation, eventual smut, way too many feels, major character death (eventually).
Words: 2,027
Long ago in the far-away land of Ancient Scandinavia, there was a golden age of powerful gods and extraordinary heroes. The greatest and strongest of all of these was the Mighty Thor…
The famed God of Thunder lived a luxurious life as Prince of Asgard. He was headstrong, indestructible, powerful beyond compare, and set to inherit the nine realms to rule. But he was stubborn, selfish, and fierce in battle, unwilling to spare the lives of innocents in the name of asserting dominance.
That is, until he made one nearly fatal mistake: almost sparking a war with the Frost Giants of Jötunheimr. His father, King Odin, managed to broker a shaky truce with Laufey, King of the Jötuns, on one condition only: that Thor be stripped of his power, his immortality, and his title until he proved himself worthy of such responsibilities.
Odin was forced to cast out his son - his golden child and heir - to another of the nine realms.
Midgard.
After sending Thor through the Bifrost to the mortal-ridden planet, Odin gripped Thor’s hammer, Mjölnir, tightly and chanted to it, “Whoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor.”
Then he sent the hammer, too.
--
“No!” you yelled.
But it was too late. Rick had stepped out into the street at exactly the wrong time.
Later, you would think that the worst part of the accident wasn’t that the driver was drunk. It wasn’t that they ran a red light and killed Rick on impact.
It was that nothing went in slow motion. You didn’t get a chance to call his name, to make him turn around and look at you one last time. You weren’t given the time to keep Rick alive. That was worse than sitting through court hearing after court hearing, testifying time and time again.
The fact that Rick had died because you were angry over something so...trivial. The fact that you hadn’t gotten the chance to make things better, to apologize for blowing up, to save him. That would come to eat at you more than anything else.
But in the moment, it happened so quickly, there was no stopping it. Time did not slow down, and neither did that driver.
Well, they did, eventually. After Rick was already dead.
--
A year later, you were sitting in a pew, staring at the empty pulpit as if it might bring some answer to you this time. But it never did.
Rick’s church had become a source of peace for you - not necessarily for religion, but community. Everyone here, when there were people here, loved Rick. He was handsome, charming, warm. He was infuriating, too, but really only you knew that.
Even in your worst moments, you loved him.
That was why it was so hard to move on, even a year later.
You fell forward, forehead slumping against your knuckles that rested on the pew in front of you. Tears fell, like they always did, while you sat around in the church Rick had sometimes mentioned marrying you in.
There was a ring in his sock drawer. Two months ago, you’d returned it. The jeweler didn’t want to take it back, stating that it was out of the return period, but the moment you told him that Rick had died, he took it without question.
You’d found a pamphlet for the local botanical gardens with some of the wedding booking information underlined and circled.
Because, like always, Rick had a plan.
And now you had nothing except an empty cage where your heart used to beat whenever he smiled at you. Whenever he woke you up on Sunday mornings, offered to take you to church with him, and either kissed your forehead and went off alone or smiled even wider when you agreed. He’d never forced his religion on you, but occasionally, you went to support his choices.
Now he had no choices. He was dead.
“Why did you take him?” you whisper, eyes straining to stay open between the building headache and the tears. You force yourself to look up at the pulpit again, see the symbols and the prophet and the artistry all around.
But it feels hollow now.
“Why?!” you yelled, voice catching as your throat threatened to close. “I needed him! Why?!”
You felt a presence behind you, but ignored it.
A hiccup resounded around the room as your shoulders shook.
“I love him! I need him!”
Rick’s sunshine-y smile filled your thoughts, brought on even more tears and snot and pain, as if you hadn’t already felt enough over the past year. Footsteps clicked along the aisle behind you, but still, you ignored them.
“I’d do...give...anything...to have him back.”
Two black-clad legs stopped beside you. The person never bent down, never even looked at you. Kept his hands in his pockets as he stared ahead.
“Anything?”
--
You thought him a Necromancer at first, but that wasn’t right. He’d corrected you almost as quickly as your own brain had.
“Name’s Hades,” he said when you’d met him outside of the church. “Lord of the Dead. How ya doin’?”
Eyes like glaciers stared at you, but a smirk as dangerous as venom offset the chill. Only a bit, but enough for you step forward and ignore his outstretched hand.
“Lord...of the…” You scowled. “You’re crazy.”
You sidestepped him, attempting to get around and walk back to your car, but he was quick. Too quick. Like fog, he disappeared, then reappeared directly in your path.
“Says the girl crying, alone, in a church she doesn’t belong in.”
You paused. Rick’s denomination wasn’t the one you were raised with. But how could this stranger know that?
He cocked an eyebrow at you, smirk still gleaming in the dim, foggy morning. “The girl who’d do and-or give anything to see her would-be fiance.”
The ice around your heart spread to your fingers. To your toes.
“He misses you, you know,” the man said. Hades. He tilted his head, and even in the overcast day, his hair seemed to shine dark blue. “Drives the other souls nuts with how much he talks about you.”
“Stop it,” you muttered, trying again to get to your car. You didn’t want to hear that. It was impossible for him to know, impossible to have happened at all. Rick was dead. That was that.
“I can take you to him,” Hades offered. When that didn’t make you stop, his heels clicked along the pavement after you. “I can bring him back.”
The ice filled your entire body. Hot and cold at the same time, somehow.
--
The Underworld didn’t look anything like you thought it would.
You imagined a vast, empty space. Blackness all around, maybe a few blue lights to match the eyes of its ruler. Pits of souls here and there, guarded by the three-headed Cerberus, all confined within the Styx like a moat.
But Hades had upgraded over the last few thousand years. The entrance to the Underworld was a mansion, larger than any home you’d ever seen before. Three separated but identical Dobermans greeted Hades upon entry. One by one, they turned their attention to you to sniff and suss you out, but Hades kept them calm with endearing words of your plight.
He made it easy to trust that he was on your side. That he was doing you a favor, extending a hand first simply because it was the nice thing to do.
Later on, you would break a glass tabletop over how stupid you were to believe such a show.
He told you and Cerberus to stay in the living room, then disappeared into a room off the main entryway. His place was furnished well - every inch of space exuded luxury and wealth. Marble counters and floors lined the room, with a huge fireplace along one wall and a gigantic flat screen TV along another.
He had no pictures, though. No human artifacts. Geodes and gemstones, sure, but nothing that signified life.
One of the Dobermans rested beside you on the plush, velvet couch. It put its heavy head in your lap and expected pets, and you obliged.
This one must’ve sensed how nervous you were. The second you gave it your attention, you felt much, much better.
But only a few minutes later, Hades returned.
With Rick.
--
You kept him a secret. How could you tell his family, his friends, everyone that had come to the funeral, that he was alive again?
He agreed.
For two months, you and Rick resumed life as if nothing had happened. He was alive again, and you were so apologetic about what had happened that he simply ate up all of the attention. You cried every time you made love, because he was back. He was yours, and you’d given your very soul up for him.
But the thing about keeping him a secret meant that you couldn’t marry him. He was legally dead, after all. And you’d returned his ring.
That no longer mattered to you. It mattered to Rick, though.
Crawling into the third month, he became resentful. You’d returned his ring! You’d given up on him, and it was your fault he’d died in the first place!
He stopped making love with you. He’d go to sleep early, stay as far away from your side of the bed as he could, and wake up to shower before you did, locking the door to the bathroom so you couldn’t join him even if you wanted to.
One night, as he pushed his dinner around his plate, you called his name. He didn’t look up at you.
“Would you rather be dead?” you asked softly, afraid of his answer. The question had been rumbling around in your head for weeks, ever since he’d started taking your decision to return his ring personally. “Would you rather I have left you in the Underworld, Rick? Would you rather I’d not given you a second chance at life-”
“What does being alive matter if we can’t have what we wanted before I died?” he asked back, teeth gritted at you for the first time. Ever.
You sighed and put your fork down. “We’re together, Rick,” you said. “That’s what matters. That’s why I did it.”
“You sold your soul,” he seethed. “And we can’t even get married!”
“Who cares-”
His fist came down on the table, hard enough to break one of the legs. “I do! That’s who, (Y/N)! I care!”
Silence settled over dinner. It stayed, even as you cleared the dishes, cleaned the mess, ran the garbage disposal. Even as you went off to shower before bed. All night, all the next morning, and all the rest of that week.
Silence.
You’d sold your soul for silence.
--
You came home on the exact day of four months of Rick being back and found your home to be empty. Devoid of feeling, of warmth, of life.
Rick was gone. No note, no message left on the answering machine. No text from his new phone number - which you were paying for.
Nothing.
Because he wasn’t gone.
You crept along the house, wondering why it was so silent still. You made it to the master bedroom, turned the knob, and felt what was left of the icicle in your chest fall through your body, through the floor, and into the Underworld.
Rick was already asleep, his shaggy hair falling over his face in what should’ve been adorable curls. But the naked woman on top of him, also sound asleep, made everything about him look dark, dead, disgusting.
--
“I can bring him back,” Hades said again. Only this time, he meant he could bring Rick back to the Underworld.
You shook your head.
You’d brought Rick back to make you happy. It wasn’t fair to him in the first place.
But now he was happy. And you couldn’t bear the guilt of being responsible for his death twice. So, unless he asked to be taken back to the Land of the Dead, he would remain, according to you.
“In that case, we’ve got work to do.”
Thank you for reading! No tags for the moment, but please reply and reblog to let me know what you think!

In God’s House
A/N: So I have been a long time reader of fanfiction and wrote a bit for the Arrowverse and others. I am working on a project for my Marvel favs but nothing postable yet. I have never really done a writing challenge before but wanted to get myself back into writing after having to take so much time off due to life getting in the way (DAMN LIFE!!!) I was so excited when @buckysforeverprincess let me take part and I hope I did justice here. I little angst and not much smut apart from a heated makeout but still happy FLUFFY ending for all! Enjoy! And let me know what you think!
In God’s House
Tumblr media
It felt like it had taken years to get to this day. Lots of planning, choices, decisions, and a few arguments but it was finally here. And Sam couldn’t be more pleased.
It started 3 years ago.
After Washington D.C. and the fall of SHIELD, Sam had gone on to support Steve with his search for Bucky. Turns out that search would end two years later with the man walking himself into Stark Tower and turning himself over to Tony Stark himself.
Turned out, while discovering his past, Bucky had found out he was to the killer of Tony’s parents. It had been an ordered assassination by higher-ups in Hydra who were after the serum samples and research Howard had been working on at that time. Bucky had discovered his link to the late Starks and immediately wanted to seek redemption from their heir.
Once Tony was able to sit down and fully dissect the event, after of course blowing up in his office and threatening Bucky’s life and freedom- only to have Pepper step in and calm him down- he found that Bucky had only been a pawn or weapon but the true villain was still out there. He started to look into Hydra and the “accident” to find out more about his parents’ deaths. By doing so, Tony was able to uncover multiple Hydra bases. And with the help of the Avengers, including Bucky, the team slowly worked to wipe out all that was left of Hydra after D.C.
During that time, Bucky had begun his treatments to get the words out of his head. Working alongside Wanda, then Shuri when Tony reached out to the King of Wakanda for more materials to make a better arm for Bucky, he was able to gain control of his mind again and finally release the fear of complete loss of control. Through time and treatment, Bucky slowly became trusted by the Avengers and was adopted into the unlikely group or teammates and friends.
He began to see each one for not only what they brought to the group with their pasts and skills, but also their personalities. Bucky enjoyed teasing and taunting Sam on a regular basis, taking it as far as joining Steve on their runs and lapping the younger man while stating “And your right!” The maniacal laugh that trailed after his taunts would fill the Compound on a daily basis.
That was until she arrived.
Y/F/N Y/L/N had ventured in as part of a visit from Director Hill and Coulson, though the team didn’t know he had told Maria to bring her to them. She was an enhanced being with powers over the mind. Somewhat like Wanda’s, Y/N could attach to a person’s emotions and not only manipulate them, but empathize or enhance them. She was found by Coulson’s team just outside of New Orleans, where locals had begun to see a lot of land as empty when a large antebellum home actually resided there. She was manipulating the locals and tourists as she needed to survive but had begun to gain interest amongst Hydra’s last few hold outs. As Tony and the Avengers tackled Hydra, Coulson and his team gathered up their lower supports or targets.
That is how Y/N found herself in Bucky’s life. She waltzed in on a Tuesday. Bucky was trying to pull off yet another annoying prank on Sam- one where he would end up covered in feathers for the day- when she and Hill walked into the room and onto the exact spot and the wrong time. Needless to say, it was a lasting first impression. Hill had seen to it that Bucky was read the riot act while Natasha helped Y/N clean up and get settled. Wanda followed behind but not before warning Bucky of who he just pissed off.
So that is how the last few months have gone. Bucky and Y/N had been in a “take no prisoners” prank war since the first day and only the team were the ones losing.
The final straw occurred at the rehearsal dinner the night prior. The team had all set up a small, intimate dinner to help relax the bride and groom before their big day. Gifts and toasts were given and stories told amongst the friends. Tony had even put together what he was calling “Sam and Maria’s love story” in a video of clips he had of them from over the years. As the video began, a sly grin spread over Bucky’s face. Suddenly the format of the video changed to show Y/N dancing and singing terribly off key and into what looked like a hairbrush. Y/N gasped as she glanced at Tony. who looked just as stunned by the image on the screen. When it changed to show her trying to learn a new form of fighting with Natasha and Clint, only to fall, again and again, she became embarrassed. The music that played only with the clips seems to make light of her downfalls and turn them into a comedy sketch.
Y/N glanced around the small group to see most of them trying to hold back their laughter, only Natasha, Maria, and Wanda seemed to be concerned about her feelings. She looked to Bucky and just as her eyes landed on him, he burst into a fit of laughter; causing the others to do the same. Deep appalled and embarrassed, Y/N stood up and ran from the room. Wanda stood to follow her but not without leaving a parting gift with all that were laughing; images of their more embarrassing moments played in their minds. The only one not affected was Clint who had somehow learned to control his mind around her over the years. But the glare her received from Natasha was enough to stop his guffawing as well.
Once an hour had gone by without any of the women returning, Bucky decided he may have taken his prank too far and went to find Y/N to apologize. What he found instead broke him all over again. Y/N was in her room; Natasha, Maria, and Wanda all trying to console her; but she was too distraught. Just standing at her door, Bucky could felt the waves of self-hate and disgust she felt in herself. It nearly brought him to his knees. Just as he was about to walk away, he heard her voice squeak out, “Why does he hate me so much?”
“Oh, hunny, he doesn’t hate you.” Maria tried to calm her upset friend. Y/N had become like a little sister to Maria over the years, one that she was very close to due to knowing all that had been done to her in her past. Y/N’s upbringing and life had not been without its challenges. She had an abusive stepfather who used her talents to his own ends and treated her like a freak. She had been very young when her mother had died and Y/N never knew her real father. She was left in the hands of those who didn’t know how to care for her and didn’t care to learn either. The Avengers was the first time Y/N had ever felt accepted for who and what she was and cared for. Safe even.
“Oh, he does. Trust me. He has hated me since day one. I guess I’m too much of a freak or a reminder of his past to be worthy of his friendship. Guess I will always be seen as a traitor in his eyes. What sucks is, Hydra never even got their hands on me. At least then I could blame them for his hate of me. But this is just who I am, who I was born. How can someone… anyone… who went through what he has, hate someone for something they have no control over?” Y/N asked, soft sobs breaking her voice up at points. Each word and soft sob tore at Bucky’s heart. He began to move away and rounded the corner of the hallway only to find Wanda standing there.
“You need to fix this or what Hydra put you through for decades will look like child’s play compared to what I will do. Y/N is my friend… no, she is my sister, and she deserves better than you hatred and terror.”
Bucky glanced down in shame. “I don’t hate her. I… I never did. She… she um…” Bucky gapped as he tried to find the right words. Wanda stepped up to him and gazed into his eyes. Finding emotions there she had never seen prior she reached up and slowly gestured with her hand towards his head. With a nod, Bucky gave his silent consent and Wanda reached into his mind to find memories of Y/N from Bucky’s view. The way she smiled and how at peace she could seem while in the garden at certain times of the day. How she had calmed and softly reassured a family during a recent mission. How bubbly she was during a visit by the Warriors 3 and Darcy Lewis, while they all enjoyed showing the Asgardians some pleasures of “Midgard” such as popcorn and candy and movies.
Wanda gasped as she pulled her hand back. “You like her?” Bucky shook his head. “But what about all that… and the pranks?”
“I don’t like her Wanda. I think I may love her…. I haven’t felt like this is so long, if ever. But she’s too good... Too perfect… for me to mess up with all my issues. So I try to stay away from her. But then she pranks me and I get annoyed. Then I guess…” Bucky leads off
“Your pride is hurt and you get embarrassed so you prank her back.” Wanda starts to giggle at the situation she has discovered. “You know it seems that all this pranking is almost a game of hair pulling. Bucky are you… flirting with Y/N? With the pranks I mean.”
Bucky gasped. “No! She is… I am… I mean…” Then Bucky stopped and thought back over the last few months and how he seemed to never be able to walk away from her. He enjoyed their ongoing war because he knew it would allow him another chance to be near her. As a blush filled his cheeks, Wanda guffawed.
“Now I know I’m right. And that means you need to make this right. And fast! Nat and Hill are two seconds from killing you just in her name. And don’t get me started on what she wants to do to you.” Wanda winks at the older soldier.
Bucky shakes his head. “But how? How do I fix this? Wanda, I need help. I really messed up this time and I don’t think…”
“Alright calm down old timer.” Wanda teased as she patted him in the arm. “I do this and you owe me, got it?” Bucky nodded silently, willing to agree to anything she wants if it means he can undo this mess he has created. “And you have to do as I say… Exactly as I say.”

Sam could hear the bells beginning to ring and knew that meant it was time to head to the altar. He looked around the room and saw most of the Avengers ready to get the event started. But he was missing one person. He had been reluctant to include Bucky in the wedding party, not to mention as one of his groom’s men but he caved as soon as he saw Maria’s eyes twinkle with unshed tears and her lip pout out. She had him wrapped around her finger and he knew it, but he didn’t care because at the end of today she would be his wife and that was all that mattered to him.
Sam turned to Steve. “Where the hell is Barnes? We need to get started. Why did I think he would take this seriously? He can’t do anything serious!”
Steve calmed Sam down. “Wanda asked me to send him to check on something for her and the girls. He is here and ready. We just gotta find him, that’s all. Let’s go.” Steve moved out of the small area the men had been assigned to get ready in and started for the main area of the church. “The girls are this way so I’ll check with them and see if they still have him. You check that way and see if he is helping with the guests as they arrive.” Steve pointed over his shoulder then towards the front area of the church, instructing Sam on their mission directions. As Steve made his way down a hall towards the back of the church, Sam huffed out a sigh and started for the front of the church. He smiled at a few guests already in their seats and thanked them for attending. He was just about to pass through the main doors when he heard a giggle from behind him. He turned to go towards the giggle that was followed by a husky shushing sound now. As he drew close to the office space used by the preacher, he heard a deep male voice state, “Gotta keep you quiet or we’ll be caught!”
“Would that be so bad? Could get the news out faster.” a sweet voice purred back.
A sound that was a mix of a husky growl and a warm chuckle followed the inquiry. “Yes but pretty sure a few of them would not like where I’ve had my hands... Or lips… or my tongue… so not wanting that lecture right this moment, Doll.”
As soon as Sam heard that last word, he knew exactly was in the room. Or at least one occupant. He was only seeing red as he pushed the door open and shouted “Barnes!”
He was met with the image of the brunette out of time soldier, decked out in a form-fitting blue suit. The jacket, which was hanging slightly off his shoulders, had black lapels on it and a white rose boutonniere that was hanging on for its dear life. The only issue was how he was standing and the location of his hands.
Bucky’s hands were planted firmly around Y/N waist as he stood leaning over her, pressing her into the preacher’s office desk. Her stunning black pencil dress that seemed to flow with each of her curves was slightly bunched up as she held her leg up around Bucky’s waist. Her limber legs with her killer high heels seemed to pin him to her. One of her hands was buried in his hair as she had her arms wrapped around him and the other was tugging his suit jacket down off of him. Her ruby red lipstick was smeared across Bucky’s lips and chin, showing that the two had been in this rather heated position for some time.
Sam shouted as he went to cover his eyes. “Seriously?! Barnes! For the love of God... not in church.”
Bucky and Y/N giggled as they started to right themselves. Y/N turned to Sam as she fixed her hair and lipstick. “Teach you to come into a room before knocking. Now, how’s about we get you married. May make you a bit more fun again.”
Bucky chuckled as he followed her out the room. Sam stopped him at the door with a hand on his shoulder. “What can I say? She’s got a point. You ready?”
Bucky moved out of the room and left Sam starring at the spot he had caught the two lovers before. “I will never unsee that. Or understand those two.”

What do you think could’ve been a way to make Loki AA’s primary antagonist AND keep him in-character? Would’ve been my dream movie tbh
It wouldn’t take a huge amount even if you leave almost the entire plot the exact same. He could have been an infinitely more effective Big Bad, but that would be more structural work and that kind of major overhaul isn’t necessary if you just want him to be in character.
There is some stuff to work with. There’s already emphasis on him being in a very bad way physically and it’s already implied he suffered some kind of torture, so the most generous reading of the film as it exists is that Loki’s mental state is so poor that he isn’t in touch with reality. For example, when he says Thor threw him into an abyss- the charitable reading (and the only thing I think makes sense with TH’s acting choices) is that he genuinely doesn’t remember it accurately. His trauma and paranoia, spending however long in a void obsessing over what happened and trying to reconcile his own actions, spending however long being tortured, etc. have distorted his perception of events.
Now that he’s been forced to go on living, he can’t admit that he tried to kill himself. The whole reason he tried to kill himself is that he can’t cope with the reality of his situation and what he’s done- there’s nothing to live for in that moment of lucidity when he offers everything up to Odin and Odin rejects it.
So, lean into that way more. Make the coercion more explicit and take out all the stupid, wrong ‘you want daddy to make it better’ power speeches (fy JW), the ‘a throne, any throne, at any cost’ stuff, delete that awful (pointless anyway) scene with Black Widow, and give him an actual plan that makes sense from his pov. Have him still motivated by his desire to be a worthy son, a worthy prince of Asgard, and desperately trying to consolidate an identity of his own. He does not care about power, he never pursued power, what he wants is love, respect, belonging. He wants to prove that he is just as valuable as Thor.
He’s not a ‘full-tilt diva’ who wants his name on a building. Fame and adulation are not what he desires or what he’s missing. He’s missing self worth and a sense of place. He is a terrified and insecure emotional-child who absolutely loathes himself and has had every anxiety-thought he’s ever had apparently vindicated by reality. His meltdown came about because being the temperate and sensible one (his natural disposition) is inextricably linked with being ‘other’ and ‘less than’ in his life. He had thought the problem was Thor’s impulsive, arrogant behaviour overshadowing everything, needing to babysit his brother rather than accomplish anything on his own, and that his pragmatic approach to life was obviously superior- if only Odin would acknowledge him, but then he discovers he’s a monster and so they must have been right all along.
A very substantial part of his original motivation was also genuine concern for the realm. He’s diplomatic and relatively sober-minded until his very personal fear-buttons are being pushed; his anger is cool, only his hurt is hysterical. Nothing he ever does is done for no reason or just to make someone suffer (even his lies to Thor are intended to keep Thor from ever trying to return to Asgard, not solely to humble or wound him). He’s callous in pursuit of goals he considers very important (in an unthinking, I’m-royalty-this-is-the-fate-of-the-kingdom kind of way), but he’s not sadistic.
So to get him to act as the big bad, what makes sense? He has to think what he’s doing is necessary. He has to be able to justify it to himself as a greater good to cover the child-like, selfish, vulnerable primary motives; he does not want to be in charge and would never consider his own rule a ‘greater good’. He doesn’t consider collateral damage but doesn’t cause it on purpose, and he is only driven to direct, extreme actions by panic and desperation. He should be a cerebral villain (Joss thinks he is in AA, but he’s not), so he should be playing 3-dimensional chess and should have at least two apparently contradictory layers to his plan (as he does in Thor1, where is seems like he’s aligned himself with the Jotuns and will allow Laufey to kill Odin until it’s revealed his real plan was to lure Laufey to a vulnerable position and secure that total victory for Asgard Thor has been boasting he’ll get since they were children while also gaining an opportunity to personally rescue his father). He never stops adapting to changing circumstances, but his solutions are surreptitious and non-violent until he’s backed into a corner.
Therefore, a story where we think he’s just trying to usurp a world to find self-worth in ruling it for the first half (preferably one where he beats the shit out of Cap and Iron Man before allowing himself to be captured so the audience actually understands that he can and so he feels like an actually dangerous threat to the heroes), but it’s revealed that he’s really playing a triple cross. He is trying to prove himself to Odin and be vindicated, but he’s doing it by deliberately conning Thanos out of the Tesseract and protecting Midgard from harm; controlling and negating the invasion from within. He managed all this so he could be a ‘defender of mortals’ as Odin and Thor are, so he can take home a powerful artefact like Odin did the Casket of Ancient Winters. Planning to drop these spoils at his father’s feet while pretending he didn’t orchestrate the entire situation. Like Thor1, this plan could essentially succeed completely even while parts of it blow up in his face and he struggles to keep believing it’s worth it, and the point is that his parameters aren’t acceptable, it’s not okay to use whole planets as pawns, etc. and the heroes have to thwart him right as it’s coming together.
So instead of randomly disappearing leaving everything necessary to defeat him lying around unguarded and being completely superfluous to the climax as he is in the actual film, there is a meaningful fight with emotional stakes. Instead of Our Heroes vs Organic Battle Droids for forty minutes, there is a genuine conflict and genuine tension. Loki remains consistent and very sympathetic while still being a major existential threat. The film doesn’t slap him around as comic relief or render him pathetic when you’re still supposed to fear him, he doesn’t become a ridiculous cartoon misogynist space Nazi, he doesn’t feel like a total damp squib of a villain who really didn’t merit the big team up.

Book: Thor’s Serpents Series: The Blackwell Pages (book 3) Author: K.L. Armstrong & M.A. Marr Pages: 360 Rating: ★★★★☆ (4.5/5) Favorite Quote: “The best warrior is dedicated and passionate yet clearheaded. It is not about revenge or victory. It is about honor.” Recommendation: If you like mythology, Norse mythology, middle grade books, Percy Jackson, great friendships, barely any romance
Synopsis:
Thirteen-year-olds Matt, Laurie, and Fen have beaten near-impossible odds to assemble their fellow descendants of the Norse Gods and complete epic quests. Their biggest challenge lies ahead: battling the fierce monsters working to bring about the apocalypse. But when they learn that Matt must fight the Midgard Serpent alone and Fen and Laurie are pulled in other directions, the friends realize they can't take every step of this journey together. Matt, Laurie, and Fen will each have to fight their own battles to survive, to be true to themselves, and to one another - with nothing less than the fate of the world hanging in the balance.
My Opinion:
A really great conclusion to this trilogy!
Lots of awesome things done with previous villains and redemption arcs, I just wish they were developed and explored more
As always I love our heroes and their journey
The ending was so satisfying and such a positive friendship and family message
A really cute story and awesome for fans of mythology!

Thor: Ragnarok (2017) Review
Tumblr media
"We know each other! He's a friend from work!"
Thor: Ragnarok will do nothing to silence those who think Marvel movies have a tendency to be more about gags than gravitas. In fact, it is fair to say that this film is essentially two hours of Taika Waititi giving those people the finger.
While the previous Thor films attempted to take Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's colourful take on Norse mythology somewhat seriously (perhaps too much so in The Dark World's case), Waititi is having none of that. Embracing the absurdity of this series wholeheartedly, the New Zealand filmmaker has gifted us with a brilliantly bonkers superhero comedy that bombards its audience unrelentingly with gag after gag, stopping only for the requisite fight scenes or the odd bit of brotherly bonding/bickering between Thor and Loki (the true love story of this series). It's almost as if Kevin Feige wrote Waititi a $180m cheque and told him to go nuts. And go nuts he did.
Taking a page out of Iron Man 3's book, Ragnarok tears its hero down, depriving him of his friends, his hammer, and those luscious golden locks, so that he can learn that true strength comes from within or some such nonsense. As character arcs go it is pretty derivative, but the film manages to pull it off thanks in no small part to the charms of its leading man. This is Chris Hemsworth's fifth time out as the Odinson and he has never looked more comfortable in the role. Waititi takes full advantage of Hemsworth's surprising gift for comedy as well as his sparkling chemistry with Tom Hiddleston (devilishly good as always). The troubled relationship between the brothers has been a key part of the previous movies, but this is the first one where it is unopposed as the central relationship and the film's emotional anchor.
Tumblr media
Ragnarok fixes almost everything that didn't work with the first two Thor movies, starting by ditching most of the supporting characters, notably Natalie Portman's Jane Foster, whose absence is explained away with one line and absolutely no fanfare. Thor, like the audience, is sadder about losing his hammer than losing Jane. Instead of a disinterested Portman phoning it in, we have Tessa Thompson as the wonderfully inebriated Valkyrie. Not only is Thompson more game for all this cosmic malarkey than Portman ever was, there is no awkward attempt to force a romance between her character and Thor. Is it possible that Marvel Studios has finally seen the light and will no longer force us to suffer through hopelessly unconvincing love stories in all their movies? I hope so, but I wouldn't put money on it.
Cutting Thor loose from all his Midgard-based allies also has the benefit of saving the film from becoming too Earth-centric. With the exception of some brief trips to New York and Norway, the majority of the action takes place either on Asgard or Sakaar, a junk planet literally at the arse end of the universe where Jack Kirby did all the interior decorating, and ruled over by the flamboyant Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum delivering a performance so deliciously Jeff Goldblumian, too much of it is probably bad for your health).
It is on Sakaar that Thor runs into (and is forced to fight) his fellow Avenger, the Hulk, now wasting away his days working as a gladiator for the Grandmaster. I'm going to put aside my annoyance at Marvel for denying us a proper film version of Planet Hulk (I mean, who wouldn't want to see Hulk do Gladiator in space?) because of how great the Hulk is in this film. Pairing him up with Thor results in some fantastic odd couple comedy which only gets better when he turns back into Mark Ruffalo in full blown neurotic breakdown mode.
Negatives? There are a few, but none that derailed the film for me. Cate Blanchett is clearly having a lot of fun in the role, but Hela is another in a long depressing line of one dimensional Marvel villains. Karl Urban is also pretty much wasted as her surprisingly cockney lackey, Skurge. Doctor Strange's cameo generates a few giggles, but is pretty much superfluous. And the first quarter rushes through events in order to get Thor and Loki to Sakaar as quickly as possible.

Thunder and Lighting
--Loved Mark Mothersbaugh's synth driven score.
--After seeing how this film dealt with the Warriors Three, it's probably a good thing filming of Blindspot kept Jaimie Alexander from returning as Sif.
--Waititi himself all but steals the whole show as Korg, Thor's fellow gladiator and deliverer of all the film's best lines.
--At one point a bunch of Asgardian actors perform a play based on the events of The Dark World. Fair to say it was better than the actual film.
Korg: "PISS OFF, GHOST!"
Bruce Banner: "Last time we saw you, you were trying to kill everyone. What are you up to these days?" Loki: "It varies from moment to moment."
Thor: "How did you end up here?" Korg: "Well, I tried to start a revolution, but didn't print enough pamphlets so hardly anyone turned up. Except for my mum and her boyfriend, who I hate."
Grandmaster: "Hey Sparkles, here's the deal: you want to get back to ass-place, ass-berg, wherever you came from..." Thor: "ASGARD!"
Four out of four luscious golden locks.

Avengers #6 OR Really? Like, really? R e a l l y ?
Pertinent Scenes:
SCENE 1: Whomst the fuck is Donny Cates???
Tumblr media
SCENE 2: Loki tries to communicate with the reader
Tumblr media
SCENE 3: Plot twist--Loki was the Joker All Along
Tumblr media
This. This after that solid B- work in the Thor arc. Where does that even place these stories in terms of timeline? Thor first? Avengers first? Is the Filibuster of Realms still going on? It doesn’t matter in Jason Aaron Land! I mean...
Look, I’ve tried to be as objective as I could be with this. Not super well, considering Loki in all their incarnations are very close to my heart. Gillen and Ewing crafted beautiful individual tricksters and story arcs to go with them, fun and tragic and triumphant by turns. I love those Lokis. While few to none have lived up to the God of Stories seen at the end of Agent of Asgard, I’ve warmed up to a few post-AoA Lokis too. Vote Loki was alright. The Loki who pops up in The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl is fantastic. Donny Cates--in spite of the great big Sigh of a ‘twist ending’--did a very heartfelt job with Loki: Sorcerer Supreme.
And, in the very, very beginning, back when Jane ‘Thor’ Foster was fresh on the page and the War of Realms could have been a decent two-arc event, Jason Aaron put out a Loki I tried to warm up to too. I felt for that Loki when he saw the knife-in-the-back as the only way to save Freya. I felt for him when he seemed to play villain just enough to nudge Dario Agger into a trap of hubris and throw the Elf Queen into range of Mjolnir for a rescue.
I thought we would get to see this Loki reveal to Jane that he was working to dismantle the villains from the inside. I thought we would get to see Freya and Odin face consequences for the still-loose threads that was their collusion with King Loki and the murdered Midgard of the future they’d have permitted for a predestined perfect Asgard. I thought we would get to see Loki gleefully caper out from under the dark elf’s thumb and back into the role of God of Stories, Free and Unfettered, seeding Mischief rather than Mayhem.
What have we gotten instead? Shit. Rambling, meandering, backtracking shit with specks of fool’s gold sprinkled in for pizzazz.
I hate saying that. I hate feeling that. I hate not being able to find a way to hope, to hold out, to keep telling myself Aaron is doing his best, that maybe he’s being strong-armed into repeatedly shoving Loki back into the God of Lies box because Marvel’s bigwigs have some Grander Arc Event in need of a nefarious Classic Villain (c). I can’t do it anymore. I can’t buy my own bullshit. Which means I can’t buy his.
Other writers, like Ryan North, like Donny Cates, like the folks behind Infinity Wars and Vote Loki and a smattering of others kind enough to squeeze a cameo in, don’t do this to Loki. None of them. They make Loki fun. They make Loki happy. They make Loki puckish and chaotic and winsome and strong and stealthy and ultimately out to have a laugh and get up to tricks. And when he makes a mess it was made to avoid a catastrophe. Or for a giggle. Or both.
Only Aaron is deciding to spit on Loki’s growth. Aaron wrote that Loki designed the Black Bifrost that has been enabling Malekith to prolong the War of Realms and slaughter hundreds. Aaron wrote that Loki sparked the pointless scuffle with the Shi’ar gods and Jane. And now?
Now Aaron has written that Loki conspired with the Dark Celestials to do the one thing he committed burning, bodily, spiritual suicide to prevent in the future. Aaron wrote a Loki who calls humanity pestilence. Aaron wrote a Loki that would see the human race murdered. Aaron wrote a Loki who spewed the same vitriol that King Loki offered so blithely to King Thor from a throne of corpses.
And to what end? There is no proof, no hint, no foreshadowing that this was all to cover up some covert scheme. Nothing that connects to the Loki we saw in Legacy #1 where he first started hunting Infinity stones and then met the buried Celestial, supposedly looking for power to do [INSERT NEVER-MENTIONED GOAL HERE]. All we get is the last scene, with Loki cackling in pride (???) that the Avengers are back together, looking as MCU synergized as can be.
‘Oh!’ I’m supposed to say. ‘That was the secret extra special chaotic neutral goal all along! To get the band back together! Loki’s Greatest Hit (Remix)! Because the only way to get all these heroes back together for whatever secret extra special reason was to nearly murder the entire fucking Earth! How inspired! How tricky! Got us again, Aaron!’
But you know what, Aaron? Friend? Buddy? My guy? I’m done rewriting your fucking tripe to make it palatable. I’m done pretending the caricature you keep slapping a pair of horns on is in any way the God of Stories.
The closest you’ve come to attempting to pretend to do right by them was the opening arc for Thor and company in Helheim. Which was both clearly a fluke and bound to never result in the long, long, long, long, long overdue payoff of betraying Malekith that everyone had their fingers crossed for a thousand years ago. (But hey, maybe we’ll be forced to see Freya “”””forgive”””” Loki and give him a hug in the future. Cannot wait to see how you manage to squeeze in how her farts are perfume and birds sing every time she scratches her hallowed ass. If anyone can do it, it’s you)
I’m done with this. Truly, sincerely done. I have to be, because I’m tired of hoping. Tired of throwing money at a writer who paces an arc like a crippled tortoise sprints. Tired of forcing myself to choke down a cruel, sneering, parody of a character that’s meant so much to me and is shown worlds more respect by other writers.
Goodbye, Aaron.
It was mediocre while it lasted.

"Thank you for your help," Nick Fury said as he shook Isolde's hand. "I hope we can call on you again should we have need of you."
She gave a small smile. "My loyalty is to Asgard. But I would not be opposed to helping Thor protect Midgard once more. Loki goes where I go however."
Fury groaned and closed his eye slowly before looking back at the Asgardian. He glanced over to where Loki and Thor stood on the far side of the room. "Loki may be of use provided he doesn't try to take over the planet any more."
"I'll make sure he behaves, Mr. Fury."
He hummed and turned to the rest of the room. "Avengers," he said as a farewell and gave a little bow before leaving the room. Agents Coulson and Hill followed closely behind.
"Should you go with him?" Stark said to Agent Oliver with a tilt of his head.
She smiled and shook her head. "I have officially been assigned to Steve. Steve's an Avenger, so..." She trailed off and shrugged her shoulders.
Captain America beamed from his seat on the sofa. Raven and Clint Barton and Natasha Romanoff stood in a small group on the other side of the room talking in low voices.
The unassuming Bruce Banner sat near Stark.
Isolde ran her gaze around the room taking in her new friends. That's what she considered them anyway. She wasn't certain how they felt about her.
An arm wrapped around her waist from behind and tugged her backward. Cool lips laid against her ear. "Hello, my love."
Isolde simply smiled and linked her fingers with Loki's, enjoying the feel of being in his arms. "I like it here, Loki," she finally said.
"I imagine you do considering how long you've made it your home," he agreed quietly. "Do you...do you not wish to return to Asgard with us?"
She turned in his arms so she could look up at him. She laid her hand against the side of his face and gazed into his eyes. "I go where you go, my prince. I want to be anywhere you are."
Loki leaned forward and captured her lips with his. "I love you, Izzy."
"And I you."
***
Everyone came to see them off though they'd said goodbye the day before. Isolde figured it had more to do with them making sure the tesseract left their realm than anything else.  With a nod goodbye, the three of them were off to Asgard. When they came to a halt, Isolde rocked on her feet and Loki grasped her arms to steady her. "Are you all right, love?"
She nodded before turning to Heimdall and throwing her arms around him in a big hug. "Hello, my friend," she said as she stepped back.
He smiled as his strangely colored eyes ran over her face. "Isolde. It is good to have you back. You were missed."
"So I've heard," she reached back and grasped Loki's hand in her own. "I don't suppose you'd tell me where Jana is?"
His smile fell instantly. "She is with Frigga awaiting the return of the princes."
A sliver of hurt pierced Isolde but she pushed it aside. It wasn't as if everyone knew of Jana's betrayal and still chose to befriend her. But last she'd known, Frigga hadn't liked the other woman at all.
Apparently sensing her unease, Loki squeezed her hand. "And where is Mother, Heimdall?"
"She is in the gardens. Odin is in the throne room with Sif and the Warriors Three."
"I suggest we see father first then," Thor said. "Shall we?" he said and gestured toward the palace.
Loki took a deep breath as if bracing himself but nodded just the same. He had always been closer to his mother but recent events had further widened the gap between him and Odin.
Isolde trailed behind the brothers as they walked into the throne room, letting them all but hide her presence. "My sons have returned," Odin said sounding as happy as he ever did. "Why is Loki unrestrained, Thor? I was under the impression he was responsible for the events on Midgard."
Thor stepped forward and Isolde heard a gasp. She glanced to the side to see Sif staring at her with her hands over her mouth. Isolde gave her a small smile and a little wave.
"Loki is not to blame for his actions, Father. He was being controlled by a being known as Thanos."
"How are you so certain of this?" Odin asked, followed quickly by, "Lady Sif, what is the cause for your behavior?"
Isolde stepped out from behind the brothers and bowed before her king. "I'm the answer to both of those questions I believe," she said.
Odin stood from his throne. "Isolde? Is that you, child?"
Loki reached out and took her hand again. "It is. And we are to be wed as soon as possible."
Isolde glanced over with an arched brow. She didn't recall discussing a quick wedding with her prince, but as she didn't mind, she didn't see the point in correcting him.
Odin let out a loud laugh as he sat back down. "That is an action that is long overdue." He looked at one of the guards. "Bring Frigga at once."
"Jana as well," Loki added. "If you don't mind," he said looking at the All Father, "I have an idea."
***
"Odin, what is so important that you had to..." Frigga trailed off as she spotted Loki. Her hands covered her mouth and tears came to her eyes as she hurried to him. "Loki," she breathed and framed his face with her hands.
He smiled back at her. "Hello, mother."
Isolde smiled from the hiding spot she and Thor had tucked themselves into.
"Loki has been exonerated of the crimes we believed him guilty of against Midgard. And he has something he wishes to discuss with us," Odin announced. Frigga wiped the moisture from her eyes and took her place beside her husband.
Jana started to leave and Loki stopped her by calling her name. "You should stay. This concerns you as well," he said.
He turned his attention back to the King and Queen. "I have decided it is time for me to marry."
Frigga frowned. "This seems very sudden, Loki." She glanced over to Jana who was absolutely beaming. It was obvious she thought she was the one Loki had decided to marry. "And I was under the impression you hadn't found anyone you would even consider taking as a bride."
"Oh, that is where you are quite wrong, Mother. In fact, I should have made her mine many years ago, but better late than never." He flashed that grin that always had Isolde smiling in return. "Wouldn't you say so, Jana?"
"Of course, my lord." Her voice was breathy with excitement. "I would be honored to marry you."
Loki looked down before glancing back up at the woman. In that moment, he changed from a happy prince to a villainous and vengeful god.  "Oh, I'm certain you would, but that position is taken by someone else." He took a step forward, keeping his eyes locked on Jana. "Though you've been angling for it for years, haven't you? After all that is why you led us all to believe that Isolde was dead, was it not? And that I was responsible for it?"
Frigga's grip tightened on Odin's shoulder. "What are you saying, Loki?"
Isolde stepped out from her hiding place, Thor at her back. "I believe he is attempting to inform Jana that her lies have caught up with her. Isn't that right, my prince?" She stood beside Loki and linked their hands together as she pressed against his side.
"Isolde?" Frigga asked, her eyes widening. She started to come down to greet the girl but Odin's hand stayed her action.
"It is good to be home, my queen. I apologize for any difficulties that arose from my departure, but I had entrusted a letter and two summoning disks with a woman I believed my friend. It is my belief that she immediately destroyed those objects and created a story that I killed myself in an attempt to win Loki for herself." Isolde shifted her gaze to Jana who was now held firmly in the grasp of two guards.
Frigga's face was flushed in her fury. Isolde had rarely seen the woman truly angry but she was a force to behold when she was. "I order Jana immediately stripped of all rank, title and property. Place her in a cell where she can remain long past the time we have all forgotten her."
"That shouldn't take long," Isolde muttered and Loki had to bite his lip to keep from laughing.
As soon as the guards escorted Jana from the room, Frigga hurried forward to embrace Isolde. The women held each other for a long time before the queen stepped back to look between Isolde and Loki. "Are you two truly to wed?" Frigga asked, her excitement at the idea obvious in her tone.
"Yes, Mother," Loki assured her. "As soon as she'll have me."
"Then we should have married several decades ago, my prince," Isolde said with a smile.
***
Several months later...
Isolde stood on the balcony outside her and Loki's room and looked out over the beauty that was Asgard.
"There you are, my love," Loki said as he stepped out behind her.
She glanced over her shoulder and smiled. "I was waiting for you. How did the meeting go with Thor?"
He gave a small shrug. "He is concerned about things on Midgard. He is returning to check on his friends."
Isolde turned completely then and leaned against the railing at her back. "And?" she asked, sensing that her husband had more to say.
He closed the distance between them and placed a hand on the railing to either side of her boxing her in. "He would like us to accompany him."
Her eyes darted between his lips and his eyes before she locked gazes with him. "And you said?"
"I pointed out that we've been married barely a fortnight." He leaned forward just a bit.
"Uh huh." Isolde's heart raced.
"Thor understood and advised me there would most likely be unknown dangers." There was barely a breath of space left between them.
Isolde wrapped her arms around his neck. "That is a good point," she breathed.
"So naturally, I said we would be delighted to go with him," he finished with a smile.
"That's my prince," Isolde said and pulled him down to press her lips to his. Their adventure was just beginning.
