A part of the story lays just below taking place between the attack on the lowblood villages of Barbara and Stirgaze, The Shepherdess and her apprentice Lainah must take their flock somewhere safe before meeting up with Kaitou to take on the Purples, but as always Angelo distracts the the Crimsonblood holding them up. *Story is much better than summery ;_;*
It was hard to watch cities and villages burn to the ground it was hard to listen to the cries and screams of those whom were stuck within those burning hives with no way out husbands calling for their wives, wives calling for their husbands, children calling for their guardians or their parents, Lainah no more than 6 sweeps stood beside her dame, the Shepherdess  those wooly curly locks danced in the wind beside her Dutter stood the shadows of the flames dancing against her wool. "This Lainah, this is why we must never trust those who bleed purple." "With all do respect ma'am they can't all be-." "Hold your tongue child." Lainah closed her mouth real quick as the taller rust looked down at her, such judgmental eyes , eyes that felt like they would burn through your very soul.
"Sorry ma'am." Lainah watched as the older female kneeled to be eye level her hand reaching forth to take hold of the rustbloods chin. "Lainah  what is the job of the Shepherdess?." "Guard, ensure survival and safety of the flock, our lowblood brethren." "Correct." The woman was quiet for a moment before her attention turned torwards the burning village, the cies of those whom had been trapped inside had gone silent the only whines were that of the burning hives, morning the loss of those whom once called them 'home'
"Tonight was a failure." Lainah heard the older female speak as she rose to her feet to give the burning village one last look before closing her eyes in a silent prayer the younger female wanted to argue the fact they had saved more than half of the lowblood villagers and their flock that all was not lost but- she couldn't the older female being far to intimidating . "May Gaia watch over them now." The Shepherdess spoke before turning along side Dutter to lead the lowbloods and their flocks off into the unknown, Lainah stayed there watching  being hit with emotions anger and loss a hand lifting touching at her cheek.
Wet- did it start raining?, no- pulling her hand back she examined the red that decorated her fingers, tears, tears for the fallen  when they started she knew not so much hate and destruction so much fear and pain she watched as the embers danced up into the sky like fireflies of the damnd dancing to an unheard symphony.  Lainah held her hands out and watched as embers that have long lost their warmth and color land against her grey palm it was hard to think that those little pieces of ash were once a home, once.. a troll even the rustblood looked up hearing what sounded like the building finally giving in and collapsing something rolling out onto the ground what was- Lainah's breath stopped and she swore her heart did to in pure terror hearing the heavy thump against the ground.
Backing up  the pieces of ash falling from her hand terror written all over her face jumping as she backed up into someone only to turn quick seeing the Sheperdess there a frown on her face before her eyes looked into the direction the young females' just had before returning to her  a hand moving to rest on the rustbloods shoulder allowing her closer to weep against the elder troll as fingers brushed at her curly locks.  "Do you understand now young one?, why this war must end?."  Lainah didn't look at the elder refusing to meet her eyes only nodding. "Good, come now you have seen enough."
The Shepherdess and Dutter allowed the lowbloods and flocks to rest for a good hour, hour and a half before starting to get them ready to move to find a new place to call home, the village had long gone out and all that remained was smoking rubble everything had burnt to the ground, Lainah stood at the edge warm red eyes looking over the mess watching some ash be carried off with the gentle breeze a flower was being twirled within her finger tips the female watching it twirl the anger and shock had long since vanished from the girl it was replaced with anger, anger at the highbloods- Purplebloods the battalions the ones whom deemed them lower than the wild barkbeasts one day- one day they will get theirs from what she heard the Signless word was starting to spread wider and further across Alternia.
"Lainah." She heard the Shepherdess call as what remained of the lowbloods were starting to move Dutter at the head of the caravan as they saddled their hoofbeasts. "It's time to leave." Lainah gave the elder troll a nod watching her start to head towards the travelers the sheep troll turning back to the newly formed resting place the flower in her hand was tossed, landing into the pale ash before pulling her hood up along with the thing fabric that covered both her nose, mouth and those freckles that decorated her cheeks.
"One day my friends we shall know peace, one day we shall walk free without fear of being subjugated or having our minds fucked with  we'll break free from the nightmares they plague us with we'll grow so strong that no General  nor the Grandhighblood himself will be able to hold us down." Lainah was quiet for a moment. "Until we meet again my friends."  Lainah headed to the large gathering of trolls clicking her tongue. "Firefly!." She called a hoof beast galloping towards her The Shepherdess was already mounted upon her steed. "Really Lainah I never understand why you give animals such stupid names."  That got a snort from the female as she worked her way up onto the animals back hand petting at the side of her neck her free hand brushing at her braided mane. "It's not stupid, I was catching fireflies when we met plus she likes them." As if on que a firefly had in front of the hoofbeast whom watched it for a few seconds before catching the insect eating it.
"See?."
The Shepherdess stared at the beast then at Lainah, back and forth between the two before shaking her head giving the horse a tap of her heels against it's side, Lainah only chuckled as she headed off, given her gift with sharp eyesight and knowledge of the bow she usually traveled never to her Lusus Dutter while The Shepherdess followed in the rear.  "Dutter hold the front for a few minutes." Lainah spot getting a grunt from the oversized sheep with a pat against the hoofbeasts shoulder the animal moved from it's spot to fall back, falling back until she was beside The Shepherdess.
"Lainah, you're supposed to be at the head girl." "I know, I know I just wanted to ask where you have Dutter leading us, last I checked safehouses in this area were all taken out during Aristide, Thanasis, Marquise and Dualscars battles." The older female gave a nod to her. "Yes I know they were dystoryed dear, for the time being we will be heading to Angelo." Lainah arched her brow for a moment before asking. "Angelo, the Jadeblood with the harem?." "Yes, all if not most male Jades have harems, their half assed way to recreate the cavern." The Shepherdess explained.  "Ah- I see it's still weird." That got a snicker from the older troll. "Being a male he was banished from the den and cut from the family just as Thanasis was from the Peridots.". Lainah nodded as she went back to the head of the group taking her place next to Dutter. "I'm not going to like this.". The large sheep lusii beside her gave a low bleat in agreement. When they had arrive The Shepherdess was the first to go up to the large hive the place looked like it could have belonged to a Grand Highblood, grabbing the handle she gave the door a few good knocks waiting which she didn't have to wait long as that door opened the Jade male greeting her with a fanged grin.
"Aurianna!". The male greeted taking the woman's hand within his own a kiss being placed against her knuckles a light shade of crimson coming t her face as she pulled her hand back. "That is 'Shepherdess'  to you Jadeblood." Her voice was cold the words almost spat which only made the man laugh and  lean in being an inch from the Crimsonbloods face. "Not still pissed over that little bite are you?." He mused making the womans face grow darker, clearing her throat. "Silence this is not a visit for pleasure Jadeblood-." "Angelo."
Aurianna narrowed her eyes at him before speaking. "As I was saying, the purpleblood attacked the village of Barbara last perigee it was Stirgaze these trolls."  She turned her hand held out towards the group down below. "Are the only survivors  this is the only safe place in the area."  Angelo knew where she was getting at. "The females are more than welcome to stay, the males must leave."  Aurianna made a face at that. "But they are the mates and some are far to young to even consider a mate."  That mane of her poofed up slightly making the Jadeblood smirk. "Perhaps you can change my mind?." A purr passed those pale lips as a hand moved to rest on her hip drawing the Crimson closer  enough for her to place a hand against him to keep him back.
"You're a cruel man." "The ladies don't think so." Aurianna grumbled with a sigh. "Fine."  She jumped a little as the Jade blood threw his hands up into the air. "Splendid!, tell your little group they can take refuge in the side hive, then come inside and get comfortable Auri."  The Crimson frowned as she turned ti head down to the group of lowbloods, she could feel that bastards eyes on her. "Lainah." He spoke making the female look away from the wriggler she was playing peek-a-boo with. "Take everyone to that side building over there, there should be enough rooms I have business to discuss with Angelo."  She watched as Lainah gathered everyone and lead them to the side hive, Aurianna giving a sigh as she headed back up the steps to greet Angelo once again. "This is strictly business and has nothing to do with stuff that happened before ." "Of course, strictly business my dear- Shepherdess." The man grinned pulling the Crimsonblood close crushing their lips together as that large door was shut.
