What a lovely bunch of chill Desmond ideas… Would be a shame if someone just... Spilled some anxiety on it

But really, we always presume that Desmond will be able to slip beneath the notice of Assassins and/or Templars whenever he ends up in the past. And fair, we have a reason for it – if he managed to do it in present time, with so many more things to avoid, past should be a no brainer, right?

But consider also this: in present time, the only person we have who is noted to be able to use Eagle vision for any meaningful length of time, is Desmond himself. Other than that, an argument can be made for Clay (which we can’t exactly prove, with his death). Gavin Banks was taxed by its use. Templars were entirely shameful with their 3.5 seconds. Point is – it feels like the Purge took out a lot of proficient Eagle Vision users. And that, should have played well into Desmond’s ability to stay hidden.

If Desmond falls into any time where Assassins have more or less stable presence, it means a higher concentration of people with Eagle Vision

So imagine Desmond trying to go incognito, but utterly failing as the has oodles of Novices and Assassin’s flocking in his general vicinity. Because something way too shiny and gold suddenly appeared in their territory. Wherever Desmond goes, there is always a blue shadow somewhere in the corner of his eyes

Meanwhile Assassins, at witnessing the bright gold in their territory for the first time:

“Is it a target?”

“Is it a treasure? Please be treasure”

“What’s so important?”

“Dear God / Allah / Gods I’m blinded. BLINDED!”

Que trying to drag Desmond to the nearest Bureau / Safe house and find out how to stop him to be so shiny because it’s distracting their operations.

Of course, Ezio's recruits could count too and the Hidden Ones during Basim's time would probably count as well. (unless they're ones who prefer having an actual Eagle be their 'sight')

Did something give him away?

So he keeps running away and they keep chasing him.

It's an endless cycle...

Until...

Altaïr chased him all over Jerusalem and finally caught him by jumping on him, accidentally breaking the wooden ceiling below them.

Later that day, Malik sees Altaïr dragging Desmond by his hood, both of them drenched in the food they had fallen into.

He just... plops Desmond in front of Malik and tell him that this is his problem now.

Before leaving, food drenched robes and all.

Malik stares at Desmond with a frown.

And Desmond just sheepishly grins at him.

TL;DR:

Altaïr drops Desmond into the Jerusalem bureau, making it Malik's problem, so he stops lighting up the city like a goddamn lighthouse that all Assassins want to check out because they're all magpies for shiny gold.

hi I don't think I've ever made a post about the sister's super forms so here's the Symphogear Exceed System overview post

essentially, it's a specific function of the replica gears wherein it trades defensive power for an offensive boost; both the Drill Drive (Helena's form) and the Aegis Access (Luiza's form) can only be accessed with enough willpower, seeing as though the Exceed System deals recoil damage to the user in order to 'break' the Symphogear's protective barrier (in simpler terms, it hurts a hell of a lot to activate it so you need to grit those teeth real hard-)

(yes they do in fact get to do a self-actualization speech before going Exceed for the first time)

it's comparable to a lesser Ignite system without the time limit; it's not as strong as Ignite but it also doesn't have a time limit or nearly as rough of an activation cost

the overflowing energy manifests as water-like physical projections that can be manipulated into a specific form; drills for Helena and wolves for Luiza

oh yeah and here's two attack cards I ended up doing for them ages ago (I still think they're neat tbh)

Azarin Brkić

Firefly Engineering Detachment Chief

Affiliation: Bozjan Resistance Ancestry: Half-Bozjan, Half-Dalmascan Helion Age: 37

Azarin is the leader of a Bozjan resistance engineering unit, the Fireflies; so called that because often all you can see are the sparks from their welding machines deep in the night. She works tirelessly in service of the Resistance, and previously found a close friend in Misija. Her betrayal shattered Aza, and in the aftermath she doubled her zeal for Bozjan independence, as she doesn't wish for anyone else to fall victim to the conflict.

She's a Bozjan Cannoneer (aka Machinist) and has a big fuck ass cannon called Frou because it makes that noise as it winds down after being used.

Her wife, Iris, is a former magitek artificer and they both love to reverse-engineer Garlean designs to work with aether. After Bozja and Dalmasca were freed she wished to travel and see the world. Lucky that Iris agreed.

Iris was once part of the IVth Imperial Legion under Menenius sas Lanatus. After an accident during a Bozjan ruins exploration, Iris was declared KIA, though a Firefly member found and delivered her near-dead self to his leader Azarin who took charge and made sure Iris received immediate medical attention.

Initially resistant to the Bozjans' hospitality, Iris refused to talk, until one day she realised that Azarin was attaching an aether converter to a magitek cannon (aka Frou). She corrected the Hrothgar's attempt and from then on, they became friends through their shared love of machinery and engineering.

Bereft of a homeland to return to, Iris threw her lot with the Resistance... and Azarin. They fell in love, and became a powerhouse of engineer couple, feared for their quick wit and ingenuity. After Bozja and Dalmasca were freed, she and Azarin made ready to travel the world, eager to finally enjoy peace and freedom that they'd been denied for so long.
