Love

Day 6 of @viktuuri-week is upon us, and so I bring you another 200 words to fill your souls with love for this amazing couple.

⚬❀⚬

Love was a mask that Victor threw over his face. He forced his eyes to sparkle and his lips to curl into a longing smile.

“Is there a special someone, Mr. Nikiforov?” “A gentleman never tells…”

The sweaty flings and casual goodbyes could bring touch to Victor’s skin when the emptiness tried to swallow him whole, but it never left him full. It simply took the edge off of it all.

Victor loved skating. The ice was all he needed. It was what could keep him whole. What could make the smile real. Well… that and Makkachin.

Was it fate to meet a broken skater, drinking and dancing with such abandon one night at a banquet? Was it fate to find out that man had lost his own dog not even 24 hours earlier?

Maybe it wasn’t. Maybe fate only compelled Yuuri Katsuki to skate Stay Close to Me.

Everything else was Victor’s choice. To fall in love with a quiet seaside town in Japan. To fall in love with coaching. And most importantly, to fall in love with that broken skater. The one who loved him back. The one whose love made Victor, for the very first time, whole.

later, being tired and overflowing with tenderness girl’s body to boy’s body lying there and wondering what it had been we got to our feet very quietly so that they would not waken but we felt their shy sorrowful look on us as we left them alone there
