Girl Friends Or Girlfriends? Ch. 1

Fem!Crowley/Fem!Aziraphale (1960's)
Word Count: 3.5k
Note: Set in the 1960’s, specifically 1962, Crowley proposes the idea of going on a trip to Aziraphale. At first Aziraphale was worried, but once they actually get to their destination, all the worry is gone and replaced with other thoughts. Thoughts perhaps about a certain demon friend of hers. (I didn't proofread this whatsoever, so if there is anything that is wrong or out of character, please let me know!!! I wrote this in the span of a week when I was at work during the summer and forgot to post it here lol) also, you can read this on Ao3 under 'starloulou" :]]]

“Let’s go on a trip, angel.” Crowley spoke abruptly.
Crowley was laying on a sofa, limbs sprawled out and in all sorts of directions, that Aziraphale had near her desk, attempting at taking a cat nap but she was too awake now, thinking of a trip to go on with Aziraphale. The angel looked up from her book where she was writing entries in, a puzzled look on their face. “A trip? But where to?”
The demon sat up fully, well semi-fully, a grin on her face. “It’s been a while since we went to America, I was thinking we could go there and explore many, many states. Kind of an unnecessary amount of them in my opinion, and why so many North and South states? Why not just give them separate names, hm? Washington and Washington D.C. is already confusing enough,” she rambled on, for a demon who didn’t, for one, was a demon from Hell, and two, didn’t live in America, she sure had strong opinions about it.
Aziraphale listened with a faint smile resting on her face. “Dear, was it not your side who gave the Americans that idea?”
Crowley thought about it for a moment. “Huh, I suppose we did do that, didn’t we?” She paused, “I think that might’ve been me, actually, I planted a little bug in their ears in case they ran out of ideas.”
“Well, I guess you could say it worked.” Aziraphale tried not to compliment Crowley’s Hellish acts, but she was just so devilishly smart you couldn’t help but be impressed.
Crowley smiled, knowing that deep down that was a compliment from the angel. “So, are you down to go? I’ll bother with the plane, hotel, all that stuff, so don’t worry,” it was obvious how much Crowley wanted this.
Aziraphale stood up and moved to sit on the sofa next to her demon friend. “Dear, I would enjoy going anywhere with you, but what about the bookshop? And what if..” she trailed on, worry painted on her face as she furrowed their brows.
The demon grabbed hold of the angel’s trembling hands. “It’ll be okay, nothin’ a lil’ demon miracle won’t help with,” she already knew Aziraphale was going to worry about the bookshop being unattended or the possibility of Heaven, or even Hell, noticing them together somewhere random on Earth.
A small but faint smile found the angel’s face once more, this alone brought a smile to the demon’s. “What are you going to do, Crowley?” Their hands never separated.
“I’ll perform somethin’ so the shop will be safe for however long we’ll be gone. And when we’re where I’m taking you, it’s a surprise, I’ll miracle that we just look like your average human walking through the streets,” she spoke casually, acting as if the miracle to disguise them wouldn’t alert Heaven like crazy. “And if Heaven asks, just say uh…we’re checkin’ on fellow angel and demons on Earth, yeah?”
It warmed Aziraphale’s heart that Crowley has put so much thought into this trip. But still, Aziraphale couldn’t help but worry about being seen by Heaven, or worse, Hell, the duo had been caught together before and they barely slipped out of that one, and it wasn’t even that long ago! But Aziraphale could sense how hopeful Crowley was that she would say yes and go on this mysterious trip with her. The angel supposed that if there was going to be a miracle performed to hide them, then what could be the harm? “So it’s a surprise, hm? Can I at least know what the weather is like, so I know what to pack, dear?”
The demon thought for a moment, she had been there before in September, she just had to remember what it was like. “Hmm, pack clothes that will keep you warm if it’s windy, but you can still cool down if it heats up.”
The angel was more than curious now but she could practically feel the excitement radiating off of the demon, she was pretty much basically buzzing with it, it was a very nice sight, Aziraphale must admit. “Shall we match our outfits?”
Crowley grinned wildly, showing off the fangs she had. “Why of course, angel, who would we be if we didn’t?”
Aziraphale smiled and stood up, pulling her red-haired friend with her towards the spiral staircase leading up to their bedroom. “I think I have the perfect outfit actually, I recently bought this lovely pin-up, it’s a simple number though.” Crowley thought that Aziraphale always had an eye for fashion, even if she would never admit it, well, maybe one day she will.
Aziraphale sat Crowley down on her bed and lifted a finger telling her to hold on as she spun around and started digging through their closet. They pulled out a knee length white pin-up dress covered in what seems to be forget-me-nots, a simple and small blue flower. It had a wide collar and short sleeves, also seems to have a petticoat sewn into the dress as well. “And of course, I have gloves and a hat that matches and pulls the whole ausumble together.” The angel smiled, so excited to show off the whole piece.
“You look absolutely dashing, angel.” Crowley grinned.
Aziraphale blushed and set the outfit neatly on the bed near Crowley. “You got any other outfits you want to show?”
Aziraphale nodded and quickly started digging through their closet once more and pulled out a cream colored blouse covered in small printed daisies it looked like. Along with it were a two piece skirt and vest made of light brown leather, the vest tied together in the front while the skirt had a line of buttons going down the front. “Do you think these will be too much or not enough?” The angel had a small frown on her face and eyebrows furrowed together with worry.
“I think it’s just right. They’re gonna be good for keeping you warm but not too terribly, y’know?” Crowley mumbled, waving her hand up and down jestering to the outfits.
There was still worry painted on her face but at least the frown was gone. “Oh, and of course a pair of pants and a sweater, you can’t really go wrong with those, now can you?”
The two sat in a comfortable silence as Aziraphale folded up all the clothes nicely and picked out the shoes she knew they’d want to wear. “Is this enough clothes or should I pack some more?” The angel asked, placing her hand over her mouth as she sat there thinking.
“Well, we can always do a little shopping while we’re there too, no harm in that. Make sure you have pajamas too, angel.” Crowley stood up and rubbed the palms of their hands on her pants. “I should be off here though so I can go grab my things.”
“Oh, do you still need to pack?”
“Yeah, I wasn’t totally sure you were going to want to go on this trip with me, with it being all sudden ‘n all.” She rubbed the back of her neck, Crowley was worried that would come off the wrong way but based on the fact the angel now had a wide smile on her face, it didn’t.
“So…you haven’t chosen what you want to wear yet?”
Crowley sighed, but not from annoyance. “Would you…like to help me pick somethin’ out?”
And before Crowley could even really add anything else, Aziraphale was grabbing her had once more and practically flying down the stairs and out the front of the bookshop, stopping to lock it though, of course, and suddenly the pair was standing outside of the Bentley, and Aziraphale was waiting for Crowley to unlock the car. “Assuming it’s a yes, that you want to help?”
The angel nodded. “Of course it is! Besides, I haven’t been to your flat in so long, it’s been what, ten, fifteen years?”
Crowley hummed, unlocking the car and opening the door for Aziraphale. “After you, angel.”
Soon they were off, Crowley speeding down roads she should not have been speeding down, Aziraphale was as used to it as she could get, and it was still worrying her like crazy. A song was playing through the radio, one that Aziraphale hadn’t heard before. “Crowley, which one is this?”
“New song from ‘The Beatles’,” she mumbled. “‘Love Me Do’, I think? Came out yesterday.”
Aziraphale hummed, it had a pretty nice tune. She wasn’t too knowledgeable on music of today's time, she was still catching up with the forties' music! They knew that Crowley definitely had the knowledge, they were always listening to music one way or another. “Maybe one day we can go see them, if you’d like.” Aziraphale hadn’t seen music performed live in a very long time.
Crowley thought about it for a moment, before nodding. “Sure, why not? Gotta wait for them to get big enough, they aren’t right now.” Crowley appreciated that Aziraphale offered to go, even if it isn’t her style of music.
The rest of the drive wasn’t long but wasn’t awkward as they pulled into the park and even sooner were they stepping into Crowley’s flat, the thing that stood out to Aziraphale the most was her massive amount of plants littered all over the place, it seemed like if there was an empty space it was immediately filled in with another plant. But other than that there was minimal furniture, if there was it was all a shade of black with splashes of red, red curtains, red walls, it was all various shades of red, some orange here and there though. Aziraphale wouldn’t say it was atrocious but it definitely was…something. “Where is your room, Crowley?” Aziraphale wondered, she couldn’t see any doors other than the bathroom door.
“Oh, there isn’t really a room for that, if I do sleep, it’s on the couch. Or your couch, depends how I’m feelin’” they grumbled, digging around in some boxes, she must’ve gotten busy and couldn’t unpack fully, though the angel can’t imagine it takes more than a year to unpack, not over a decade.
“Dear, what is it you’re looking for?”
The demon didn’t respond, just kept digging through boxes and boxes before suddenly jumping up. “Aha! Found ya, thought you could hide from me, aye?” Aziraphale looked over Crowley’s shoulder to see a very old and tattered passport in her hand.
“Oh! Silly me, I forgot my passport at the bookshop, but I don’t know where it is…” Aziraphale thought to themself.
Crowley sauntered over to her makeshift closet, it was really just a clothing rack, but it was full of mostly black but some red sprinkled in with it all. “Okay, angel, what do you think about this?” It was a pin-up dress, similar to Aziraphale’s dress, only it was to her mid-thigh and didn’t have as wide of a collar.
It was a vibrant red color, littered with polka dots. “I have some heels I think would look good together with this, oh! Maybe some gloves to really make us match…” Crowley mumbled to herself, pressing the dress to her front.
“Beautiful, dear!” Aziraphale beamed.
Crowley felt her face heat up at the compliment and quickly turned away to find her other outfits. A few moments later Crowley was showing Aziraphale a black long sleeve turtle neck, except it wasn’t a sweater material but more of a t-shirt material. To go with it, was a deep red leather overall dress, a line of buttons going down the left side all the way down where it stopped a little above her mid-thigh. “Obviously, I got some tights to wear with, but I figured this was pretty close to yours.”
Aziraphale imagined Crowley wearing it and she looked absolutely divine. Truly, the demon was a privilege to lay eyes upon. The angel thought she was gorgeous, even if they’re on opposite sides, Aziraphale thought very highly of her regardless. She could stare at them for hours, Aziraphale often sketched Crowley, her sharp features were fun to draw and watch as his friend came to life on paper. It was the closest thing to a photograph Aziraphale could get out of her, they were both equally still a little shook up from when Furfur took that photo and tried to use it against them.
Next the demon showed her friend a pair of wide legged pants, they had a flannel pattern on them, though that wasn’t what they were made of. They were various shades of gray with thin lines of red. Crowley definitely loved her blacks and reds. “I think that one pair of chunky earrings I own would suit this one, don’t ya think?” Aziraphale nodded quickly.
Crowley smiled faintly, unsure why Aziraphale’s approval was so important to them. The two sat down on the couch for a moment, Crowley spread out, her legs draped over the cushions, and Aziraphale sat up straight, head turned towards her. Aziraphale could look at her for hours, even in silence she was still having a nice time just being around the demon. “I enjoy your company, Crowley,” Aziraphale hummed. “You’re pleasant to be around, even for a demon.”
The tips of Crowley’s pointy ears turned pink. “Well…you’re the one who is most pleasant to be around,” she fumbled slightly over her words, why were they suddenly so flustered? “Why else would I invite you on a trip?”
The angel smiled and took Crowley’s hand in hers, holding it as if it would crumble and break if too much pressure was applied. She examined her nails, as one does of course. “Oh! Dear, we must repaint your nails, they’ve gotten all chipped, I’m afraid…”
Aziraphale was the type to get her nails done, often they were just filed and painted with a clear coat, but sometimes she would spice things up and get a cream color instead. Crowley on the other hand, was often ahead of the times, somehow, and would paint her nails either black or red, though they ran out of black faster than the red. “Where do you keep your nail polish, Crowley?” The angel asked, standing up and looking around the room.
“Right in front of you, angel.” She laughed, leaning forward and grabbing it off the coffee table.
Aziraphale covered her face with their hands out of embarrassment. “Oh, dear me…”
Crowley was still laughing to herself, she found it quite amusing it seemed. “Oh hush! It blends in with the…” she looked around the coffee table for something red, there was none. “The…the…the plants!” There was uncertainty laced within their voice.
The demon hummed. “Sure, totally. I’d believe it more if there were actually plants on the table.”
Aziraphale turned their head quickly to see that Crowley had miracled the plants off the coffee table. The angel sent a glare towards Crowley, but quickly let up the act and got right back to painting Crowley’s nails. “Are your fingernails naturally this sharp? Is that something all demons have?” She asked, holding Crowley’s hand gently once more.
Crowley nodded. “Mine have been this way since I can remember, dunno ‘bout other demons though.” Her nails were long, not too long that it was an eyesore, but at the ends they turned into a sharp point, Aziraphale wondered how they’d never been scratched before.
The two sat in a comfortable silence for a while, just absorbing each other's company. Sometimes, she won’t admit this, Aziraphale purposefully messes up, or takes an extra minute or two on just one nail, just to hold her hand a little while longer. Sure, they’ve held hands many times before, but to the both of them this just was a much more intimate setting. They were doing something together and for each other, that was what they cared most about. “Do you want a clear coat on top, or no?”
“Usually yes, but we still need ‘ya packed and ready to go, our flight is tomorrow.”
Aziraphale raised her eyebrows, a little shock on her face. “Tomorrow? Oh, then let’s go back to my place, it’s nearly midnight, dear!”
Crowley completely forgot to tell her that the flight leaves tomorrow afternoon, they’d have to leave early due to it being such a long drive away to even start. “Lucky for us, I’m a speed demon.” She winked, grabbing her suitcase that was now magically fully packed and ready to go.
The angel laughed, she has to admit, that was a clever one. She held out her hand for Crowley to take, it was just nice to feel each other, that’s all, no other reason, totally. “Will your plants be okay while you’re gone?”
“‘Eh…if I come back and they’re dying, they know what happens to ‘em.”
The angel raised her eyebrows in shock, they always forget our rude Crowley is to their poor innocent plants. “Why must you do that, to such innocent things, Crowley? Now, what did they ever do to you?”
They kind of stood there for a moment, almost as if they were thinking of a proper reason before she just shrugged and started walking again towards the Bentley. Aziraphale took that as a, ‘I’m not actually sure, and can’t think of a proper reason right now’, sometimes Crowley just does things. Actually, there are many things over the centuries that Aziraphale noticed she does just naturally, like when she is just zoning out she’ll stick her tongue out like a snake, probably because she is a snake.
The drive back to the bookshop was very short, of course, she even said it herself, she’s a speed demon. Aziraphale went upstairs to pack her suitcase, it was quite a struggle since it was the only suitcase she owned and it was very small, but eventually she got it shut, and without having to miracle it too! Crowley had followed suit after making sure the bookshop was all locked up, she would hate for someone to try to break in, well, the thief would hate it more, Crowley would one hundred percent turn them into a plant. “All locked up, angel. Checked every door and every window.” They sighed, flopping onto Aziraphale’s bed and tossing her glasses onto a nightstand nearby.
Aziraphale looked at her demon friend who was sprawled out, taking up the majority of the bed itself, even though a leg was hanging off the side. She placed her hands on her hips, “Ahem,” she coughed.
Crowley looked up with only her head, obviously wanting to curl up and go to bed. “Yes, angel?”
“You’re on my bed.”
“Not like we haven’t shared before-“
“My bed, which means, I have a specific side I like sleeping on. Now scoot over, you hog.”
Crowley grumbled before rolling over, face down in the pillow, mumbling about something, probably just complaining. “Dear, you are not wearing your daily clothes to bed, especially mine. Go change, pretty please.” Aziraphale hummed.
The demon waved her hand at Aziraphale, too tired to get up she just snapped her fingers and suddenly her clothes were neatly folded in a pile on a chair and she was wearing an obnoxiously bright red nightgown. It stopped somewhat above the knee and it had a fuzzy trim at the bottom. “Happy now? Now let me sleep,” she grumbled.
She wasn’t being rude, Aziraphale knew that Crowley just loved her sleep and would get grumpy. “Oh hush, dear. Aren’t you much more comfortable now?”
Crowley rolled over so her face wasn’t in the pillow anymore but rather was looking directly at Aziraphale. They paused for a moment before nodding, “…yes, I am. Now come to bed angel, the light is too bright.”
“Do you want the heater?”
Crowley hummed, she stayed pretty warm during the night. “No, but leave it out just in case, never know when…” she yawned. “I’ll feel like a snake more…”
Crowley, though they don’t turn into a snake often, still does feel like one sometimes. She’ll stick her tongue like a snake does, her skin gets extra dry and peels like a snake does, and she also needs a heater nearby every now and then, especially in the winter. It’s just one of the many characteristics of Crowley that makes them, well, Crowley. She cannot sit in an upright position, and she has to be sprawled out in some way, always moving, most likely Aziraphale will wake up with half of Crowley on top of her, this wasn’t unusual behavior though, Aziraphale already knew all of this.
The angel, now also feeling quite tired, just waved her hand to put on a long nightgown, going just a bit past her knees and ending with a cute lace trim, you could see the same trim along the collar and ends of the sleeves. It was a simple yellow color, honestly white in the right lighting. She wore the same one every evening, they owned several of the yellow color, obviously it was a personal favorite. Laying down in the bed beside Crowley, she leaned over and turned out the light. “Goodnight, dear.” She whispered.
“Uh huh…night, angel…”

Star Wars basically-OC concepts: Daleen
Tumblr media
Daleen was a classmate of Maul’s at the Orsis Academy in his early years. A young human female, rumored to be a princess of a royal house, not exceptionally adept at combat, but was thought to be a great agent material by Master Trezza, the Academy’s Director.
Since I wrote the Kilindi & Maul one-shot some thoughts about Orsis just doesn’t quite go away…

I'm just so endlessly amused by Alphinaud saying shit like "my life has purpose when I'm with you" and "you make me feel like my dream is possible", openly says the WoL is his, and is consistently at his happiest when the WoL returns from battle safely throughout ARR but when Estinien refers to the WoL as Alphinaud's sweetheart he gets SO scandalized.
And then Alisaie is no different, saying just the most heartfelt, romantic things without batting an eye, stopping just short of a love confession through all of Stormblood, then Tesleen goes "hehe you have a crush" and Alisaie gets all huffy and indignant.
I think they get it from Fourchenault.
