Sophie's hands carry a lot.

There's a scar on their left hand, from when they were thirteen years old. It's gotten less noticeable over time, but it never went away completely.

On their right, an echo of the shadowflux. It flares when the memories get bad. Which is always.

Sometimes, when the anger is so overwhelming Sophie thinks they will burst into flame, their poor walls bear the brunt of it. When they're done lashing out, there's blood on their knuckles.

The fate of the world rests in Sophie's hands.

Their hands carry so much, and it's so heavy.

When Biana's hand slips into theirs, it makes everything else just the slightest bit lighter.

They thread their fingers around aers and squeeze, hoping their hand says the "thank you" their voice can't quite manage.

You know what gets me? The fact that Buck was so fucking pissed at his parents and was taking it out on the punching bag yet when Eddie places a hand on the punching bag, Buck stops mid punch.
