Chasing Cars - Charles Leclerc
Charles Leclerc x Fem!FBI Agent!reader x Criminal Minds
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mentioned Cast: Criminal Minds Cast (Aaron Hotchner, Emily Prentiss, Jennifer Jareau/JJ, Spencer Reid, Derek Morgan)
Word Count: 2086
Warning: mention of guns, m*rder word, sh**ting, AND THIS IS MY FIRST TIME SO BEAR WITH ME🫶🏻
Location: Los Angeles (Made up location)
Summary: as a Supervisory Special Agent, your team have been assigned to a murder case which involved street robberies… but then Charles Leclerc comes into action. (Inspired by a CCTV footage of Charles chasing down his watch thieves.”
Abbreviation: UnSub (Unknows Subject- The criminals), B.A.U (Behavioral Analysis Unit)
----------
You put a black sunglasses as you get out of the airport. You and the rest of the Behavioral Analysis Unit Team split into two different SUVs as you, Reid, and Hotch go straight to the LAPD office while Derek, Emily, and JJ go to the crime scene. The case the B.A.U team is working on is about some murder that took place in Malibu with stealing expensive watches as the modus operandi. We believe that the UnSub is more than one person.
All the victims were found in the alleys and all of them have lost their expensive watches. The B.A.U team came to the conclusion that the victims had fought back the UnSub but instead got murdered in the middle of the fight.
Your team arrived at the LAPD office 5 minutes later. The LAPD has set up the office for your team. Hotch, Reid and you directly setting up the files and the map. Reid spent another minute doing the geographic profiling as you and Hotch talked to Sergeant Reyes about the evidence.
Hotch’s phone rings and it shows Garcia’s name on the screen. Penelope Garcia is our tech analysis. She’s doing her job back at our office in Quantico.
“Yes, Garcia. You’re on speaker.” Hotch says, his eyes still fixed on the victim’s pictures.
“I got the brand name of those expensive watches. Rolex and Richard Mille, they only stole these two brands.” She says as her typing sounds got faster. “The UnSub let go of 2 victims who wore another brand.”
“Do you have the name of those 2 victims?” You ask her.
“Of course, Honey. Their names are Jacob Rhodes and Lilian Harris. I’ve sent their addresses to your phone. Ciao!”
With that information, Hotch calls Derek to go to those addresses and talk to the victims.
“Fuck!” You mutter under your breath as you try to control the steering wheels. You end up in this situation because Hotch asked you and Emily to watch the UnSub when Garcia sent the address of their whereabouts to the team. Your team have two UnSubs who match the profile. Greg Finn and Tyler Brendan.
You and Emily wait for them silently and patiently inside the car, until a man gets out of his car in front of the UnSubs. The UnSubs seem to know the man because they ask for something. You frown, thinking about the worst thing about the man being their leader or something, but then they hold up their phone to take a selfie with the man. What? Is that man a celebrity?
You try to look closely, but you just can’t see the face clearly. You’re not that far from them but they’re facing the opposite direction which makes it harder to see the man’s face. They seem good for a while until everything turns into chaos when the thieves run to their car as the man shouts at them.
“Merde! My watch!” He shouts while he abruptly gets into his car, trying to get ahold of the thieves car.
You and Emily are trailing behind him and my god! He is fast. “Watch out!” Emily yells.
“Fuck!” You mutter under your breath as you try to control the steering wheels. “How is he driving so fast?”
“Girl, he’s driving a Ferrari. Of course he is fast.” Emily replies, as it is so obvious.
“Damn! We need to get one so we can be fast when catching the criminals.” You joke, trying to ease up the situation. Emily laughs, agreeing with you before she calls Derek to let him know where the UnSub is heading.
“I’m ready at the end of the road, bring them here Y/N.” Derek says through the speaker.
“Copy that.” You reply. “Their victim is chasing them too. It seems like they tried to ask for a selfie then stole the watch and ran afterwards.”
“There was no fight?” Now Hotch turns to ask through the speaker, “They just ran?”
“Yes, they just ran.” Emily answers him. “We’re close. Do you guys see them?”
“Alright. We’re gonna cut him from here.” Derek says then turn off the call.
“Wait the man’s car didn’t know Derek is gonna cut them off, he’s on high speed with a fucking Ferrari.” Realisation hits you as you think of the worst thing that will happen if he didn’t slow down.
“Damn it! You’re right.” Emily cursed, “I’m putting on the siren. Can you drive faster?”
“I’m trying. Might as well be an F1 driver after this case, though.” You groan, trying to drive faster so you can get to the man’s car. You’re not a big fan of driving this fast so you feel your hands are sweating. It makes you grip the steering wheels harder so you don’t slip.
Finally you’re trailing right behind the man. You try to overtake him but he’s driving like a freaking pro F1 driver. Fuck it! “Emily, turn off the siren and shout at him. I’ll try to get as close as possible. This man thinks he’s in F1 and doesn’t let me overtake.”
Emily does as you said. She turns off the siren then puts herself over the car window. “SIR. I’M SSA EMILY PRENTISS FROM FBI AND I ORDER YOU TO SLOW DOWN.” Emily shouts as loud as possible and you hope he hears him.
Thankfully, he heard her and slowed down his car so you finally can drive right beside him. You gesture your hand to ask him to roll down his window.
“Charles Leclerc?” You’re surprised and not surprised. Surprised because you never thought of seeing your favourite F1 driver here and not surprised because like you said, he’s driving like a pro F1 driver and my god, of course he drives a Ferrari.
You’ve always been a F1 fan but the job makes it hard to catch up with the races and the driver. Sure, he is your favourite but you don’t even know what type of Ferrari he drives daily. You rarely watch F1 races ever since you joined the B.A.U team 3 years ago. The day you get to watch it was on your phone while you were writing your report at the office.
“They stole my watch.” He says. My god his accent! You always love his accent.
“My team will cut him off. That’s why we ask you to slow down. Now I’m gonna go first and you need to trail behind me. Don’t overtake me because it would be dangerous as you’re their target.” You explain to him.
He nods, “Okay, Agent.”
“Y/N!! Is that Charles Leclerc? Your favourite F1 driver that you and Hotch talked about a lot?” Emily smiles, she can’t hide her excitement for you. She knows how much you idolised Charles.
“Yes. Oh my god, why should we meet in this situation? So chaotic.” You groan.
“Girl, are you kidding? This is the best situation. He might become your fan after this.” Emily says.
You roll your eyes, “Being my fan, my ass! I’m not that cool .”
“C’mon! You and I know that we’re really good at this job and we’re badass. How can he not become a fan after seeing you catching some criminals?”
You shrug, “I don’t wanna be delusional.”
As Emily would talk again, she got cut off by the scene in front of us.  There are Hotch and Derek pointing guns at the UnSubs while the UnSubs do the same. The LAPD officer also surrounded them with their guns pointing at them. They can’t go anywhere.
“Shit! They’re armed.” You cursed, then quickly parked the car. You and Emily get out of the car with your gun pointing at the UnSubs. One of them knows you’re there so now he’s pointing the gun at you and Emily. It’s Tyler.
“We both know this is useless. Lower your gun!” You demand, but they don't seem to be affected by you. “I said lower your gun!”
“Agent.” Charles calls you. Shit! You nearly forgot that he was there behind your car.
“Step back, Charles.” You say to him but your eyes don’t move from the UnSub. You can see Hotch look at Charles but quickly divert his attention back to the Unsub.
“We just need this watch.” Tyler says, “we don’t wanna cause any trouble.”
“You think we don’t know that you murdered those victims after you stole their watch?” Derek says to them.
Greg gulps. His face turns pale after hearing that information. Bold of them to assume that your team don’t know what they did.
“Just get down and we’ll talk more at the office.” Hotch says calmly, try to make the situation as safe as possible so nobody gets hurt and the UnSubs go to the custody alive. “We want to know more about you.”
Tyler seems to think about it. You knew from Garcia that Tyler is the submissive and Greg is the Dominant. So in this situation, Tyler is more likely to surrender. When Greg sees Tyler thinking about it, his instinct of flight or fight got the best of him as he knows they can’t flight, he points his gun to Charles, his finger is ready to fire the gun. But before he can do anything, you quickly shoot him right in the chest. Greg’s blood splatter to Tyler as he screams and puts down his gun.
Derek quickly gets Tyler and puts a handcuff on him while Hotch checks Greg’s heartbeat. He looks at me then shakes his head. It means Greg is dead.
You and Emily let out a sigh of relief. It was a clean shot and a clean take down even though one of the UnSub is dead. So you see it as a successful take down and glad it is over.
“I believe there’s someone who wants to talk to you.” Emily whispers to you.
You see Charles walking towards me with a smirk on his face. “I didn’t know an FBI agent could know my name.”
You chuckle, “My boss is a big fan of yours. Of course I know your name.”
“How about you?” Charles asks, furrowing his perfect brow.
“Me? How about me?” You ask him, confused about what he means.
“Are you a fan, too?” He asks me. His eyes fixed on yours.
“She’s a huge fan. A total tifosi but never had time to watch a full race because of the job.” Emily chimes. You guess she can’t take your bullshit anymore because she knows you probably say no.
Charles smiles. His dimples showing as he does it. Oh, how cute! “Glad to know a brave, badass FBI agent is a tifosi.”
“Not a big deal.” You mumble. “Alright, I’m a huge fan then what?”
“Then I would like to ask you to come to the paddock on Sunday. I have a race here.”
“Huh? Me? I—”
“She’ll come. I’ll make sure of it.” Emily says with a huge smile on her face. “She’s got VIP Access then?”
“Of course. I’ll arrange the VIP’s for the FBI Team. I’d be happy if you all want to come. This is the least I can do as a thank you for saving my life tonight.”
“You don’t have to do that. We’re just doing our job.” You stated, trying so hard not to scream yes when he said about the VIP thing.
Charles smirks and without saying anything to you, he walks to Hotch and Derek. He shakes their hands then talks to them a bit then looks at you with a big smile.
“Your boss says yes.” He says when he is in front of you. “I’ll see you in the paddock.”
You smile, shaking your head. “Nice one, though”
He winks at you. HE FREAKING WINKS!! “I need your number for the VIP information.”
Trying so hard to control your scream, you give him your name card. He takes it with a smile then reads it. Oh stop smiling! Your heart can’t take his smile anymore. He’s too cute.
“Alright then, see you in the paddock Supervisory Special Agent Y/N Y/L/N”
--------
Whoa can't believe I made it here haha. please let me know what you think.
Ciao ciao.
All the love.

Berlin (Netflix) - episode 3
Episode tres starts with the quintessential presentation of the heist plan to the heist team, except a couple of minutes in Bruce gets peckish and restless and gets up to raid the fridge and Berlin takes it personally - he decides to go LOCO on his ass and make everyone uncomfortable (and probably bullies Bruce into getting alcohol poisoning)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You know what would have been hilarious? (and probably would have led to Bruce getting murdered lol) If after he finishes drinking all that champagne and Berlin resumes laying out his plan, Bruce gets up to pee the heroic amount of liquid he had to ingest under duress.
It's episode three and we get a sort of explanation for the set-up of the series. Sergio gets an honorable mention (he's too busy working on his own heist to be there)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and it's explained why Berlin's not working with "professional" thieves - shocking no one, Andrés' ego is so big there's no room for others'. Also, the new team is "enthusiastic" and "not hardened by apathy", which he implies that professional thieves are, and the new team can listen and learn from everything Andres is teaching them. Well that turns out-- surprisingly okay, given the shitshow that follows.
((Berlin touches Damian in a way reminiscent of how he gets all close and personal and touchy with Martin, except that Berlermo magic is absent. What I'm saying is that Berlermo >>> Darlin and no matter how tactile Andres is, his relationship with Martin IS extraordinary, unique, marvelous))
"Because, if we are to end bullet-ridden on the streets of Paris, we'll leave five beautiful bodies behind -- and Damian's"
Tumblr media
This is where we get HOW the heist will happen - they're taking control of the CCTV and literally cutting the back of the vault clean off to be able to enter/exit as their hearts desire. We see them do it, we actually get to see them heisting like pros - and as it happens this is one of the few scenes of them actually doing the heist that's at the center of the show. (But the show isn't JUST about the heist, we get that; I just thought there would be more heisting involved)
Meanwhile, instead of watching his team break into that vault with baited breath, Berlin creeps on watches Camille and plans to spend with her the few days until the vault is filled and "enjoying Paris".
Which he does, by taking the woman out to lunch in a public place, having lobster because he apparently REALLY loves seafood.
Tumblr media
It's the second time he refers to her as "self-centered"; he's projecting so hard he could open a cinema.
His plan to fuck Camille in the bathroom (klassy) is interrupted by her husband who annoys Berlin to such a degree that he's looking at the available cutlery like I WILL FORK THIS DUDE IN THE NADS (a fairly hamfisted callback, imo. I'm precisely the type of person to be pleased by this mention but I'm-- strangely eh about it?)
Rant; to be the wait staff at that restaurant, casually watching the patrons only to see this woman using lobster-eating cutlery to cut off her underwear in one place and then magic it off herself somehow. IN FRONT OF PEOPLE'S SALADS.
We then get a throwback to the original Banda talking about what they'd do with the money - and I'm fine with it, and with seeing Keila go through all stages of horniness around Bruce.
Oh SNAP Damian's joining the divorced club, lol. Did not see it coming. Also, I specifically said how I agreed with his outlook on love? Hahahahah. Hah.
After a Berlin sex scene that I was (for some reason?) not expecting, we're treated to a glimpse into whatever's motivating Camille (tl;dr - it's basically FOMO) and Andres makes a comment that made *my* heart jump --
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What does it mean?? Is it a Martin reference? (No)
Tumblr media
We need a gif compilation of Berlin dramatically going through doors in this show. @wedgeantill - how does that sound? :D
After that dramatic exit we get one of the most cringe-worthy slow-motion montages of Berlin being happy in the most over-the-top, theatrical way that I fast-forwarded through during both times I watched the episode. But good for him, I guess; way to bag the wife of the guy he's currently robbing. (*)
Back where the main act is set to take place, Damian's going full
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Meanwhile Cameron has the ingrate job of reminding the people in charge of the team as well as the audience of the fact that they're all there to do a heist, and that they'll have to do it THAT VERY NIGHT. Which begs the question-- where is Berlin?
Roi is the one who has the privilege of finding that out
Tumblr media
(basically "I just had sex but my girlfriend's husband is cool with it")
as he tries to get a word in edgewise and tell Berlin to put it back in his pants because they have a heist to do.
Poor guy Roi is the same one who has to listen to the utter mental breakdown that Andres has in the car back to Paris, that culminates with
Tumblr media
Perfectly normal, sane response.
NGL, I laughed so hard the first time I watched this scene. The #priorities on this man.
(*) REMEMBER season 5 when he's confronting Rafael for sleeping with Tatiana and he goes -- whenever I see a guy that I find  hot dressed well I want to fuck his wife.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Guy took one look at Francois and FELT THINGS. This explains everything.

Stray Kids as Villains (non tarot)
Disclaimer:
This isn't tarot related
These are my personal impressions
I'm in no way saying any of the members would ever be as evil as described here
This is a hypothetical scenario 'what if'
Some things might trigger you, don't read if you are overly sensitive person
Tumblr media
Stray Kids as Villains
(Based on my observation, non-tarot)
Bang Chan
Bang Chan really oozes some daddy vibes so I think, in a twisted reality, he could become the super perfectionist father, forcing his child to achieve the goals Chan had himself but for some reason wasn’t able to reach. You know the type of father who will put his daughter through a drill on the ice ring to push her towards an olympic gold medal for ice skating. The type of villain who sort of means well and wants his children to be more successful in life than he was but in fact ruining their lives, pushing them into extremes. He might be super bitter about his own failed ambitions, blaming others and circumstances for his life failures. So yeah, not exactly a super villain but more like an everyday person gone too far over the border.
Lee Know
Lee Know would make a good Joker but that’s not the only villain he could portray. He’s sort of a wild card. He might become any type of villain but I can mostly see him as a shady but sort of fun and sarcastic villain, someone who knows how to bend or break the rules. A leader of high class thieves, the brain of a super complex heist, that’s Lee Know. His charisma can seduce a cashier in a bank so he can pull some crucial security information from her, he can dress up as a janitor to map the bank and the positioning of CCTV, he can easily play a wealthy foreign potential investor talking to the head manager of the bank and letting them show him their vault security level. Lee Know and his crew would rob the bank successfully but Lee Know being too greedy would also have a watertight perfect plan on disposing of his minions so he doesn’t have to pay them and there’s no risk of anyone breaking at police interrogation.
Changbin
Changbin is a tough one. He’s not very villainous in my eyes but let’s try. He gives both boyfriend and daddy vibes so I guess he could go a similar way as Chan. Only he would be the overprotective and possessive boyfriend, who checks his lover’s phone, texts them every hour asking where they are and who is with them. His love could go toxic and unhealthy. The Bluebeard type of a villain. Changbin would slowly separate his lover from their friends and family completely so nobody would actually notice when they disappear. Changbin would murder them and somewhat preserve them so they remain his dolls in some basement gallery of his own and he would ‘collect’ lovers like that. Oh! So I could actually come up with a pretty scary villain even for a guy who doesn’t look villainous. Ain’t I a genius? Lol!
Hyunjin
When it comes to Hyunjin there are more options but I’m gonna go with the most scary one (as I usually do). I think Hyunjin might make a good psycho cult leader. The type of a man, who gathers devoted worshippers around him, especially those who will gladly serve him in more intimate ways. He would teach about some obscure and hella crazy beliefs. He’s a charismatic manipulator and a persuasive rhetorician. He would make his worshippers do anything for him. Sorry for going this dark here and if it triggers you, you shouldn’t read a post about villains.
Han
Oof! Han is too sweet for a villain… I don’t know. Maybe he could be like a sidekick to a villain? Something like an evil version of Batman’s Robin? A young ward of a cruel and greedy villain, a boy only knowing immoral behaviours and so acting like a bully at prestigious school because he knows nothing better? I guess I can’t really figure anything harder for him.
Felix
Felix is also kinda sweet but I can come up with a villainous version of him. He would make a great Venom. He would make such a perfect anti-hero, a guy who would actually be envious of his buddy’s successes that he would be willing to team up with an evil space entity in order to acquire some super powers to match those he’s envious about. He would gladly sacrifice his own personality and autonomy to the parasite.
Seungmin
I don’t know… Seriously. I have no idea. I’m open to your suggestion here because I have spent an hour on Seungmin and I just don’t know.
I.N
Okay! I know! An evil ancient demon waking up after a thousand years of forced imprisonment and ready to sweep the human kind off the earth’s surface. Something like Imhotep in the Mummy movie with Brandon Fraser, if anyone here ever saw it. I.N would make such a great ancient spirit going for revenge spree and hitting the world with one disaster after another. He would have some magic powers or super powers, maybe even needing to perform some bloody ritual sacrifice at the top of some temple in the middle of the jungle. Releasing the powers of some ancient evil to the world. Invincible demon I.N

Joining The Superfriends - 6
Tumblr media
Lena has been with the Superfriends for almost a month by the time something actually serious comes up and it’s actually a relief.
She’s been dying to show these guys what she can do, to show them that she can really pack a punch and prove to them and to herself that she belongs here. It’s not that the others have made her feel like she doesn’t belong there with them, they have been trying the best to do just the opposite really but kind words have never been what fuels Lena, she’s never really had them so she would have crashed and burned a long time ago if that was what fuelled her.
No, Lena has always used her intellect and skill to prove herself so even though it’s a terrible thing that’s happening out in the streets of National City, she’s kind of happy that she’s being given the chance to spread her wings a little.
Over a span of just three days the crime rate has skyrocketed at an alarming rate because all of a sudden people have started acting aggressively, picking fights and thieving and vandalising and burglarising every building they set their eyes on but whenever the culprits were detained they would remain silent until a few hours later and then they would look around confused and claim to not remember a thing from the past day or so.
This isn’t just a couple of people either, we’re talking dozens upon dozens to the point where the police have no idea what to do with the over two hundred people that mysteriously started committing crimes and then supposedly getting amnesia.
Ever since the first few accounts got to them, they have all been trawling through hours of CCTV footage to try and figure out what’s going on, following the movements of these people from not only the incidents but also from the days before.
Lena is fairly confident that if she tries to get up out of this chair, her skin will tear off because the leather and her back have moulded together in the hours she’s been sat there.
Kara makes her jump slightly as she appears over her shoulder. “Found anything?”
With the shake of her head Lena sighs. “Unfortunately not. I was hoping for a lead by now.”
“I think that you’re in desperate need of a break.”
“I think that we need to find out what’s going on as soon as possible.” Lena replies, not breaking eye contact with her computer screen.
Kara spins Lena’s chair around, startling her into looking away from the screen. Kara keeps turning her until she’s facing the complete other way from her computer. “We’re taking a break. You’ll probably find something when you’re looking at the tapes with fresh eyes anyway, Lena.”
Lena is not going to fight with a superpowered alien so she pushes herself to her feet, wincing at her stiff muscles and stretching out. “Just a short one.”
Kara grins. This break is going to be longer than Lena wants it to be for sure and she deserves it, she’s been working harder than anyone else has been, even Alex stopped to take a lunch break with Kelly and she’s one of the biggest workaholics of them all.
“So, I made a couple grilled cheese sandwiches.” Kara says casually like it’s an afterthought, not that she dragged Lena away from what she was doing to make her eat with her.
Lena looks at the massive pile of grilled cheese sandwiches on the plate, counting five at a glance but it might be six. “A couple, huh?”
“Yeah, just a little snack.” Kara feigns ignorance, loving the way that Lena finds her quirks amusing, she knows from first-hand experience that not everyone is as willing to put up with them as others, it’s a big part of why she’s been single for so long.
Kara is also pretty happy to finally be able to grab some time with Lena, she’s been trying to pin her down for lunch for over a week but every time she asks her, Lena has already had lunch with Brainy or doesn’t have time, it’s been really getting on her nerves and she isn’t really sure what she must have done to make Lena stop having lunch with her when they were eating together almost every day before that.
They sit opposite one another with the plate between them, taking it in turns to grab a sandwich. “So, it’s been a while since I’ve been able to pin you down.”
“What do you mean?” Lena scrunches her eyebrows, her gaze flickering up from the dwindling pile of sandwiches up to Kara, noticing the way that her eyes are doing circus tricks to avoid meeting her own questioning gaze.
Kara shakes her head a little. “Nothing, we just haven’t had lunch in a little while.”
The sentence feels juvenile and she regrets her words the second they leave her mouth but Kara doesn’t want to just ignore the fact that Lena has been skipping out on her, not that she has the right to control when or with who Lena has her lunch, or dinner for that matter.
Lena just looks even more confused. Is Kara really questioning her over the fact she has been eating lunch without her? She cares that much? She has to admit that it’s true, she has been eating her lunch with Brainy instead but that’s mostly because they have been working together on a few projects, she’s found him to be a good guy to work off of and she’s now finding that she likes his company since her jealousy has dwindled.
She hadn’t really paid that much attention to the fact that they had stopped having their lunch together because she has still been seeing Kara around all the time and speaking to her so they have still been getting plenty of time in to get to know each other better.
Lena still can’t believe that she has become friends with an alien superhero from another planet and that she’s crushing on her in a major way so to hear that Kara has noticed that she’s not been around at the usual time so they can sit and eat and talk together sends her heart aflutter.
“I hadn’t really noticed, I’ve just been taking five minutes to eat and then getting right back in the lab, Brainy and I are getting along like a house on fire now that we have settled our differences. I’ll make sure to carve out some proper time so we can sit and eat from now on.”
“Ok, firstly, if you don’t want to get lunch together that’s alright, there’s no pressure and secondly, did Brainy ever figure out what your differences are in the first place?” Kara tries to shift away from the topic of lunch, hating herself a little bit for even bringing it up.
Lena sees the change of topic for exactly what it is, Kara being embarrassed for asking for more time with her and Lena isn’t having any of that, she wants to take every second she can get with Kara. “I’ll start taking my break at around one thirty so if you happen to have any free time around then, feel free to join me. It’ll do me good to be eating on a schedule now anyhow.”
Kara looks at her over the top of her sandwich with a shy smile and Lena really has no idea how a superpowered alien can look so darn cute. “Ok.”
“Brainy and I have finished what we were working on anyway, the main thing we were working on at least, we have a few other things but this is something that had to get put off because it was trickier than I thought it would be.”
Kara shifts, her curiosity drawing her nearer without her having to think about it. “Do tell.”
“We are supposed to be working on figuring out what’s going on with the people of National City, not gossiping on what’s going on down in the lab.”
Kara does not let her get away with that, seeing Lena’s devilish smile lets her know that she was trying it on purpose to try and annoy her anyway. “Absolutely not, it doesn’t count as gossiping if you’re the one in the lab, now spill before I hide your computer so you can’t go back to it.”
“That doesn’t sound legal.”
“I don’t care, now talk.”
Lena stays silent, one perfect brow raised in challenge.
“I think you’re forgetting who you’re talking to.” Kara reminds her, flashing her heat vision very briefly.
Lena knows that it should be a scary display but instead she’s just intrigued. “That’s so cool. How long can you hold it in your eyes like that before you have to either use your heat vision properly or stop?”
“It drains my powers just like a full on beam would do eventually I would solar flare but I can hold it for quite a while really, it doesn’t hurt at all.” Kara shows her again before remembering what she was doing before. “Hey! No fair! Tell me your secrets.”
Lena thinks it over, taking barely any time before trying to negotiate. “I’m willing to make a deal with you.”
Kara is backing away in an instant, she knows better than to trust that look, it’s full of menace and it’s easy to see that any deal with Lena will not be in her favour. “We’re not making deals, we’re just two friends sharing secrets.”
“So here is my offer: I show you what I’ve been working on and in exchange you will let me study your very cool and impressive powers and agree to meet me for lunch at least three times per week.” Lena adds the lunch part in at the last second, hoping that it will get her to give in.
Kara hesitates but she kind of likes all aspects of the deal. If Lena studies her powers then she gets to spend more time with her, it’s a win-win really and on top of that she will get a guaranteed three days of lunch times with Lena. It’s a no brainer.
“Give me four days of lunches and you have a deal.”
Lena smiles, she loves winning. “Three and one breakfast.”
“Deal, now show me.”
“Alright, follow me.” Lena gets up, grabbing the now empty plate on her way to drop into the kitchen to be washed later because otherwise they’ll probably forget that they left it there and get shouted at by J’onn for being messy.
Kara stays hot on her heels almost like she’s afraid that Lena will just take off running at any moment but luckily for them, there is no running involved at all, they make it down to the lab with nothing peculiar happening.
Lena opens one of the cupboards and pulls out a large plastic container. “I was going to wait until I had time to make this a little fancier but I suppose you can see it now.”
“What is it?” Kara questions her excitedly.
“It’s a powder.” Lena unscrews the lid and shows Kara a white powder that’s inside.
Kara drops her voice down into a whisper. “Is this a drugs thing?”
“No!” Lena exclaims, startling them both before going back to her normal speaking volume. “No, this is a powder that I have designed to be baked into things like pastries or cookies or maybe pancakes. It’s pure calories so you don’t have to be eating all day to meet your goals.”
Kara’s face lights up. “Really? How much do I use and how many calories are in it?”
“Yep, It’s a thousand calories per scoop and you should be able to get about two scoops into whatever you make but you can also use it in a smoothie or milkshake so it should make your life a little easier.”
Kara grins at her, pulling the tub towards herself and smelling the top, trying to see if it has any kind of odour. “Thank you, Lena.”
“It’s also vanilla flavoured.” Lena leans back against the counter with a smile.
“I have never wanted to kiss a person more.”
“Maybe you should.” Lena mutters, ducking her head.
Kara’s face drops when she hears that. She clearly wasn’t meant to hear it but she’s glad she did because she has developed quite the crush on Ms Lena Kieran and wasn’t too sure if she felt the same but this isn’t the first time she’s heard Lena mutter something like this so it’s about time she grew a spine.
This should be easy, she is Supergirl after all but this is much harder than it looks, putting your heart on the line is no joke. She’s going to do it anyway.
Stepping into Lena’s space, Kara uses one hand to gently raised her chin before planting the quickest peck onto her lips. She probably just broke the world record.
The kiss may have been quick but Lena’s eyes snap open even faster, completely taken aback by the kiss. “Kara.”
“Yeah?” To her credit, Kara hasn’t stepped back and is staying close to Lena, giving her chance to respond and watching her very closely so that she can move away if she looks uncomfortable but so far so good.
In lieu of an answer Kara is grabbed by the face and pulled into a second kiss, this one not at all fleeting and all force.
The frantic crushing of their lips only lasts a good twenty seconds or so before they press continual pecks onto each other, moving from their lips onto their cheeks and necks, careful not to linger too long and leave marks.
Eventually they just settle into a hug, both parties enjoying the embrace for a minute before pulling back just to fall into each other’s lips again.
“Well, well, look at who caught the love bug.” Alex stands in the doorway with teasing grin.
“Can you not let us have even one min-“
“Bugs!” Lena exclaims, rushing past them both and towards the main part of The Tower where she left her computer.
The Danvers sisters make chase, barely keeping up with the eager steps that Lena is taking. “Lena, slow down!” Alex calls from behind her.
Lena doesn’t pay any mind though, just throws herself into her chair and brings up the logs of all known alien species that have arrived on Earth in the past couple of months. “Do either of you remember which species of alien arrived not too long ago with the massive agricultural background?”
“I know who you’re talking about but I can’t remember the name.” Alex replies.
“Troruans, they’re from the planet Troe, arrived just over a month ago and have been set up just off the edge of the city before you hit desert.” Kara jumps in.
Lena nods. “That’s the one. I heard that they brought a bunch of their own crops and soil from their home planet with them and if they are bringing soil and plants then they have definitely brought…”
“Bugs!” Alex and Kara jump in.
“Alien bugs. Who knows what affect they could have on people if they spread. It’s just a theory but I’m going to look into it.” Lena begins typing away, already set on her plan and praying that it pans out because she is going to be super embarrassed if this isn’t the cause.
Kara seems to believe in her though. “Hey, good job. I’ll head out to go see them, take a look around and ask some questions. I’ll call you if anything of particular interest pops up.”
“Thanks, Kara. “ Lena smiles, waving her off, leaving her alone with Alex, not her favourite Danvers but her second favourite.
Alex lingers by her side, arms folded and both eyebrows raised, trying to put on an innocent expression but just looking mildly surprised instead. “So, I saw a little bit of something happening in the lab.”
“Until I have spoken to Kara about it, you will not be getting any information.”
“That seems kind of pointless, you know that Kara will just tell me everything anyway so I will find out every tiny detail anyway.” She takes in Lena’s unamused look and keeps pleading her case. “I just think it would be good for you to talk out some of your feelings, just keep it PG13 because I am not about to stand here and listen to you talk about my baby sister in ways that my brain can’t handle.”
Lena sends a glare her way. “Are you telling me that all I have to do to get you to leave me alone is to tell you how much I want to get into bed with your sister?”
“Gross.” Alex recoils, pretending to gag. “Please only talk about the mushy stuff, I saw what I saw and I need answers.”
“There’s a lot of that going around.” Lena replies, getting right back to her computer screen.
Alex moves her wireless mouse away from her to stop her for continuing. “Your work is important so you should reply quickly so you can get back to doing what you’re meant to be doing.”
“Fine, Kara kissed me, I have feelings for her and I think she has feelings for me. We are adults so we will talk about it when we get chance to and I will ask her out on a date. That’s everything, now please give me that back and go away, Alex.”
Alex eagerly hands it over. “Cool, thanks. She’ll say yes, you’re all she talks about, just be good to her. I would threaten you but you want to ask out a superpowered being that can literally throw you into the sun so you should be more afraid of her than me.”
“Please, Kara is a puppy dog.”
“That’s a good point.” Alex concedes. “Just be good to her.”
“I will be, don’t worry.”

At a filling station in Melsele near Beveren (East Flanders) thieves tried to pull a pay terminal out of the ground by tying a cable around it and connecting it to their car. The thieves then attempted to use their car to pull the pay terminal out of its concrete base. Fortunately, the attempt to steal the vending machine eventually failed. The perpetrators and the number plate of the car they were driving were captured on CCTV footage.
After the first failed attempt, the thieves tried a second time. This time they used a crowbar to force the door giving access to the terminal’s safe, where takings are stored.
"They tried in vain to open the safe with a cutting disc to get their hands on some of the money, but that also failed," says security expert Bart De Beule. "These devices have only just been renewed and are very strong. Even after the attack, the pay terminal, which costs about 20,000 euros, was still in working order. A bit of welding and a lick of paint should suffice as a repair."
Local police have launched an investigation and have asked other police zones for support.

A bike was stolen in my town, from the bus station that has a camera! The camera doesn't actually work it's just there so thieves think there's a camera.
The dumbass that took it however stopped at the store, forgot he has a bike now, and walked home, leaving "his" bike there. The ladies working there noticed it's there after closing, so they wheeled it inside the warehouse then reported it to the police.
The next day they posted on social media that our Brilliant Detectives™ based on information gathered during their investigation caught the thief and retrieved the bike, then took a selfie with the real owner...
Of course they didn't catch any thief, they have no idea who took it, they didn't bother to look at the STORE's cctv footage... That's one of the many stories I think about when someone talks about police vs theft.

your family seems to revel in strangeness. + the dempsey family
cw: past death/murder/manslaughter, including children -- discussed throughout, being that the dempsey family are ghosts; house fire
Well the whole god-be-damned thing was fucking strange. Death is not the end, it’s not even an appropriately-short epilogue. No, no, this whole thing is a fucking limbo, and Moira never paid much mind at church -- so little that she would honestly need a moment to recall whether her parents were either Protestants or Catholics, or perhaps one of each, and she forgets now, now that she can’t ever talk to them again -- but surely, for fuck’s sake, surely spending so long stuck in the living land but unable to live was too cruel. Not even for her own sake, or John’s, but their daughter and son. What had they done to deserve it?
But it’s not even about what is deserved. John tells her that from time to time, like he’s almost utterly tuned in to her frequency -- dead, ghost, yes, but married and loved far longer, attuned forever -- and it does a small wonder for the moment.
So why, then? Unfinished business? Maybe. Thieves accidentally knocking something over to cause that fire after they’d accidentally beat Duncan over the head with something heavy. God, that singular yelp of his woke her from that deep sleep; it never leaves her mind entirely. And Duncan, sweet darling boy, had said, sworn up and down, that he’d surprised the two (was it two? only two?) after getting up for a glass of water, and he’d been surprised in turn, in the dark. She doesn’t know what to make of that -- if he’s far too hopeful in people’s honest mistakes, or if that’s just how their lives ended. In a fucking accident.
It’s all in the dark, now.
“Don’t be so gloomy, dear, we’ve jewellery to mess with.”
Moira squawks, flustered. “John! Pity’s sake, we’re better than that!”
“It’s not like we’re really stealing it,” he says, cajoling, and damn the man, she always joins him despite arguing, every time, that it’s a bad influence on the kids. The kids who are dead, but at least they can’t be arrested. “Just some floaty gooferoony stuff.”
“‘Gooferoony’,” she parrots, rolling her eyes, but smiling. “Don’t half pick up some nonsense, you do.”
He grins so wide, gums-and-teeth, she can’t help but laugh, and the kids giggle.
Lucy leads Duncan off to the necklace case, both content to tap their fingers against the glass silently while their parents turn their attention to the more readily-free pieces, waiting for the moment.
Neither of them expect to see Echo (birth name not given, which Moira can understand; he’d only been dead since the 70s, poor thing, but it seems he’s given up on keeping his living name already) trailing in after Western (and there’s another fellow, birth name tucked away in the bittersweet corners of the mind -- whether no longer correct or a disconnect between that old life, she knows better than to pry. but perhaps to ask in invitation, maybe.) into the jewellery shop, but they all exchange waves. Even if gets Western a strange look.
Which may be a given -- already a tall thing, tousled jet black hair, pale as milk, and dressed... in a sort of gothic style? Goth? Emo? Something alternative. Not the kind one expects in a high street jewellery shop, one with CCTV, mind. And the stompy boots, too! Fantastic choice; if she were still alive and able to re-dress, she’d steal the fucking things, heaven help her hands.
“Hello,” they start, voice sweet and clear as always, polite, “I’m hoping to buy a necklace and a pair of earrings for a friend of mine.” The proprietor gives them a baffled look, but not outright contemptuous -- which is just as well, or else there’d be violence on West’s behalf, she swears it -- and so gestures towards a cabinet, talking about this and that, humming with West about maybes and perhapses. For themself or someone else, Moira does wonder who they’re buying for.
“Oi,” John whispers, as though any living person can see or hear them, “come jangle with me.”
“Go jangle yourself,” she says, following anyway, ignoring the mock-gasp Lucy makes.
“Now,” John starts, voice louder for all who hear it, “Let’s make some chaos.”
Jewellery is snatched and rattled and swung around; glass cases rattled and vigorously tapped so that even the living can hear that; the proprietor and staff are trying to retrieve them, squawking and yelling about this sudden activity; and one other customer is panicked, squashing themself into a corner away from it all. West, also pressing against a wall out of the way, looks equal parts thrilled and terrified, although the later is perhaps terrified of being caught in the face by flying jewels, especially if it’s the kind they have their eye on.
Where’s Echo? Dancing in the middle of it all. Spectating! Fine for him, fine for all in the know.
One outrageous thing per week, John said, for any level of ‘outrageous’ by anyone’s standard. Something to make their existence, such as it is (“oh no, dear, there’ll be ‘such as it is’-ing about all this, now come join the fun you miserable old wench.”), more bearable. Enjoyable. It’s not a life the way she’d imagined it several decades ago, but at least there’s no mortgage to pay off, and the worst is over, and there’s no more worrying about who will die first, and there’ll be no more worrying about what will become of Lucy and Duncan, and---
“My darling, my sweetheart, my little freckled egg.” A hand clasping hers; the crash-bang-wallop is over. Already? “Hello.” His face is like the centre of the universe: anchor. Well, it makes sense to me, she thinks, when he starts to crack up again -- like he can read her mind.
“Hello, yourself, twonk.”
“Oh! You’re so mean to me! Cruel old bag of a wife!”
“Silence! Silly little man!”
“Mean and cruel and so very not-nice--”
And then they’re sucking face in the middle of the high street. Lucy and Duncan express their BLEGHs and YUCKs and GROSSes, and stomp off somewhere further down, angling towards the pier and arcade.
West steps out sometime later, and to Moira’s abashment, she finds she can’t recall how long it actually was between their exit and West’s. Echo seems to still be inside the shop, watching as everyone puts things back to rights.
They nod at each other; Moira and John sweetly embraced, and West with a small bag of jewellery.
“You off, now?”
“That I am.” They gesture with the bag. “Something for me, something for Ezz, something for Stel.”
“Aww, I’m sure they’ll love it, dear, and it’ll look lovely on you.”
At that, West seems to go pink and bashful. What a feeling, she realises for the millionth time, to have such a friend -- someone who knows the worst like you, and yet can still take the time (since they’ve all got nothing but time) to partake of the small and mundane.
“I’ll see you later, then, you strange lot.”
A pretend protest: “Alright--!”
“I say that with nothing but love!” they promise, already walking off with that grin.
“... Hardly the strangest thing we’ve all done,” John says, still wrapped around her.
“Mmm.”
“And they’re an accomplice anyway.”
“This is true! Remind them, next time.”
“Shall so, dear.” A peck on the cheek. “Shall so. Now, to the beach?”
“Oh yes.”
“Sandcastles!”
“Sandcastles!”
Small joys make it easier.

Gated Communities rather than Independent houses | Good Time Builders
Tumblr media
Living in a home can mean either residing in an apartment within a gated community or owning an independent house. A gated community typically refers to a large residential area enclosed by walls, with strict security measures at the entrance and exit points. These communities also offer a wide range of amenities. On the other hand, independent houses lack the security and amenities provided by gated communities. For those seeking a peaceful life with luxurious amenities, a gated community is the ideal choice. Life in gated communities is associated with a sense of elegance and exclusivity that is not typically found in independent houses. However, those who prefer independent houses must invest more effort to achieve a similar level of luxury. Before making the significant decision of choosing a place to live, it is important to consider the advantages and benefits of living in a gated community compared to an independent house.
Enhanced Security and Safety
One of the primary attractions of gated communities is the emphasis on safety and security. Gated homes are surrounded by walls and closely monitored at the designated entrance and exit points. These communities are even guarded at night, ensuring protection against potential thieves. With 24/7 security, unauthorized individuals and vendors are unable to breach the premises. The presence of CCTV cameras also helps to reduce crime rates. Residents can confidently leave their homes for extended periods, knowing that their houses are secure. Gated communities provide a protected environment for children and elderly residents, shielding them from intruders. The controlled access and monitoring at the entrance and exit points give residents a reassuring sense of safety, which is not available in independent houses. In independent houses, security becomes the sole responsibility of the owner, along with the associated costs. In terms of safety and security, gated communities always offer a secure living environment.
Elite Lifestyle
Gated communities offer an exclusive lifestyle and a refined neighborhood, reflecting a modern and elite standard of living. They serve as a symbol of eminence. Nowadays, people, especially the younger generation, prioritize their dreams and lifestyle choices. Therefore, they prefer gated communities that provide a luxurious lifestyle with multiple amenities and a well-developed community. Luxurious amenities not only enhance one's lifestyle but also fulfill modern requirements. This sense of elitism is rarely found in independent houses.
Cost Considerations
Independent houses are generally more expensive than apartments in gated communities due to various factors such as land prices, regulatory clearances, utility connections, raw materials, labor costs, and more. In the case of apartments, the responsibility for these aspects lies with the builder, while the buyer can finalize the deal and move in once the unit is ready. Apartments in gated communities also come with shared amenities that are not available in independent houses. To achieve similar luxuries to those found in gated communities, significant investments are required for independent houses, thereby increasing the overall cost.
Privacy
Privacy is another factor that supports the choice of living in gated communities. As access to the community is well-controlled, residents enjoy more seclusion from the outside world. This exclusivity is an appealing aspect of gated communities, where residents have the ability to control entry and allow only those they choose. Such controlled access prevents unwanted interference from the outside world. This privilege is rarely seen in independent houses, where privacy needs to be established at the owner's expense.
Community Togetherness
Community togetherness is considered one of the most satisfying aspects of living in a gated community. Residents share an unspoken understanding among themselves. Gated communities often host social gatherings during festivals, enabling children from diverse backgrounds to play together, fostering acquaintanceship in recreation rooms, and organizing various outdoor and indoor events. These activities create a sense of togetherness and allow people from different backgrounds to live in harmony and peace. Such moments and interactions provide a feeling of care and security. In contrast, independent houses often offer

My GTA V Online: M.W.V.R. episode 1 - Mammoth Avenger (Part 1) [Dec 29th, 2022]
HO! HO! HO! Hello, it’s me! And welcome back to my GTA V Online. So today, I made another episode called M.W.V.R. 💥🔫🚗, an acronym stands for "My Weaponized Vehicles Review".
And in this episode 1, I'm reviewing the Mammoth Avenger, an aircraft with the ability to tilt, and it was on the real-life counterpart. How much is that? Let's find out.
BTW: If you haven't seen my "Festivity Holidays" of 2022, then I'll provide some links down below:
GTA V Online - Festivity Holidays (2022):
• Festivity Holidays 2022 - Snowmen Collectibles (Part 1) [Dec 24th, 2022]
• Festivity Holidays 2022 - Snowmen Collectibles (Part 2) [Dec 24th, 2022]
• Festivity Holidays 2022 - Snowmen Collectibles (Part 3) [Dec 24th, 2022]
• Festivity Holiddays 2022 - Snowmen Collectibles (Part 4) [Dec 24th, 2022]
• Festivity Holidays 2022 - Snowmen Collectibles (Part 5 - Final) [Dec 24th, 2022]
• Festivity Holidays 2022 - Snowmen Collectibles - Fail to Collect [Dec 24th, 2022]
• Festivity Holidays 2022 - Test Drive at Simeon’s Premium Deluxe Motorsport [Dec 25th, 2022]
So, without further ado, let's get started:
• The Mammoth Avenger [CLICK ME!] is a weaponized aircraft released on December 12th, 2017 coincide with the "The Doomsday Heist" DLC update. It cost GTA $3,450,000 or $4,787,500 (if you unlock the trade price after completing the "Setup: Avenger [CLICK ME!]" in Act II - Doomsday Heist.) from Warstock Cache & Carry, and it's primarily based on the Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey [CLICK ME!].
Important Note: The Avenger plane was NOT related to the MCU's superhero team. Although, it's worth to watch, but still.
My Recorded video (via XBOX Game Bar) ⏺️🎮🖥️: [Pls watch my entire video.]
My walkthrough & first impression:
• Okay so, I'm here at Vespucci Beach to show ya how to summon or spawn an Avenger plane. To do this, go to the interaction menu by pressing "M" on your keyboard (or hold the "select" button on your current controller), go to "Services", then pick "Avenger" & press "Request Avenger". And there you go, say hello to my big aircraft! Here's a default look of the Avenger plane in black-ish graphite & white tone, with a single torrent cannon at the front. And gotta say, it is quite huge to ride a plane. Now, you can actually buy this place on "Warstock & Carry" without unlocking the trade price, like I am. However, you gonna need a facility to park your own Avenger, and that ain't cheap. You can add some additional features (aside from color interior) on the Avenger, but, it'll cost exorbitant. Anyway, let's go inside by either the front left side or at the back. However, if you're in the cockpit, hold the right D-Pad (for controller) (or press "E" on your keyboard) to enter the Avenger's interior.
• I'm now inside the Avenger, with Christmas decorations hanging above. Yup, we're still celebrating the spirit of holidays after "Christmas Day". Nonetheless, the interior of the Avenger contains a wardrobe, a gun locker (that nobody use), five sits, a CCTV camera terminal for the cockpit, a weapon workshop for Mk II weapons (an additional purchase), and a single turret control, which I'll show it ya, in a bit. But right now, let's take a flight with the Avenger, shall we?
• Like the V-22 Osprey in real-life, the Avenger plane features a VTOL mode (which stands for "Vertical Take-off and Landing"). By pressing the right D-Pad on your controller (or pressing "E" on your keyboard), you could either go forward or elevate. This feature can be great for doing insane stunts or going upside down if you're doing some daredevil activities. Either way, it's fun to ride. Plus, the Avenger's speed & acceleration are respectively fast (either equipped with performance parts or not), no doubt. The Avenger also has an "Autopilot Mode" by going to the interaction menu, the same route as I summon the Avenger.
• Now, that my Avenger plane switches to autopilot, let's go inside once more because I want a play that front gun turret. Like the weapon workshop, the gun turret control is also an additional purchase for the Avenger plane. To access the front gun turret, press the right D-pad on your controller (or "E" on your keyboard), and press the "enter" (keyboard) or "A" (controller) button. Now, let the fun firing begin! The turret (or each turret) has a zoom function to see it closely before you take fire at them into smithereens. Unlike other aircraft w/ turrets attached that require friends/allies to operate, the Avenger plane can operate on your own, thanks to the autopilot feature. Now, that I'm done firing, let's go to my facility. And much like the Avenger plane itself, the facility is also expensive.
• Here it is, I'm now inside my own facility. I'm having fun gliding with my Avenger plane. But, there's one feature that I've forgot to share ya....
Pls, go to Part 2 by → [CLICK ME!].
Well, that’s all for now & 🎄🌟 Happy holidays! 🎁🎅
And If you want to see my previous car prize, and more, then please → [CLICK ME!]. 😉
(Where do all the links go you may ask? I made a post about all GTA V Online-related links. This will prevent error save drafts, in my future post. Plus, I’m always updating my link post.)

Survey of community issues/problems among citizens
Camille Faith R. Alejandrino, BA Journalism - 2A
According to the people that I have interviewed, Panasahan is rather a lovely place with accommodating barangay staffs and officials. Conflicts within neighbors, accidents, are fixed by the barangay. They are quick to fix problems and care for the citizens of their community. They do prioritize senior citizens and Persons with disabilities, as well as the people who need help, are free to be accomodated by their barangay.
The community of Panasahan also advocates for and condemns violence against women and children. Most of the victims are minors, which is why their community extends its hands to help those who are in need.
However, there is also a downside to it. Panasahan lacks parking spaces because of the small spaces on the roads, which are mostly occupied by sidewalk vendors and cars. There is always traffic, and people find it difficult to commute.
There are also thieves lurking around Panasahan. According to the people on my survey, thieves are very common around Panasahan, and they are mostly from different barangays, or, as they call it, "mga dayo." Some of the thieves are minors, too. Although Panasahan's barangay is efficient, their CCTVs are not always accessible.
The neighborhood of Panasahan also loves gossip. which is why neighbors tend to fight most of the time. There are also issues that were caused by money lending and paluwagans.
Every community has its own issues and problems, and the survey made me realize that everyone has their own version of the story. Their community can also be a big part of them, since some of them grew up and had their own families in a place where they were born. Some people experienced the same thing, and some people didn't. But it's their stories that we always look up upon.
This can be of great help to know what they have been through through the things that they shared. This will serve as a reminder that every community has its side that needs a change.
Nevertheless, there are still people who appreciate their community for what it is, but that won't hold them back from seeking out what's better if there's still a room that needs to be improved.

Once the men realised that the clinic was indeed staffed, they attempted to flee and much to their surprise, the nurses gave chase. Although outnumbered by the seven man gang, the dauntless women tracked the men, who had unwisely scattered, through the myriad corridors of the old building thanks to CCTV and their own familiarity with the labyrinthine facility. When caught, men were persuaded to surrender one by one by the nurses, although Sister Diane Peters (far right) did succeed in bringing in two of the men single handed, their hands tied behind their backs. Once all seven had been rounded up the nurses tied them up, binding them securely to uprights in the physio gym and gagging them. The four women also took some photographs of the thieves’ humiliation for their social media accounts before calling the police.

Protecting Your Home: Simple Measures to Deter Burglars and Enhance Security
Why should you let anyone into your home and steal everything they want for free? Finally, if a person actually wants to break into a residence, they will be able to do so. There are, however, a few simple things you may do to make this as difficult as possible. Thieves are lazy people who choose the simplest solution; make their task more difficult and they will quickly lose interest. We'll go over some of them here, and if you take them, the lazy criminals will flee to a safer option.
Tumblr media
Attitude and Carelessness
Many house break-ins are the result of the homeowner's lack of common sense. The majority of homeowners think about security only after a neighbour is robbed. When getting into a property, burglars are frightened of being seen and wasting time.
Do Not Intervene
The bulk of robberies take place when residents are not present; nonetheless, if you stumble across a robber in the process, do not attempt to stop them! The danger of getting hurt by the invader is too severe to take any precautions. Many injuries and deaths occur when a person defends their home with a weapon. This weapon could be used by a desperate and deadly burglar against the homeowner.
Speak To the Professionals
If you wish to make your home safer but don't know how to contact your local police. They will gladly visit your home and identify any potential hazards. They are experts, and they will usually uncover opportunities that you might otherwise overlook.
Locks
You can enquire about your current lock status by contacting locksmith Myrtle Beach. Of course, as long as your locksmiths provide excellent service, the majority of them will try to sell you their products and make it clear that you are interested. They will normally give you a discount if you have a large number of doors and windows. Walking around a neighbourhood looking for old or damaged doors and windows is a popular habit among opportunist thieves.
CCTV
A CCTV system is a very important component of any home security system. If a criminal discovers many cameras put outside your home, he or she will most likely choose a house that is easier to break into. You can select a system that includes both alarm devices and camera surveillance.
Common Sense
Many robberies are committed as a result of a homeowner's negligence. When you leave the house, remember to lock all of your doors and not leave any valuables on display.

Burglar Alarms for Rented Property, Why Should You Consider Installing One?
Should Apartment Renters Consider a Burglar Alarm System?  It is essential to determine whether it’s the duty of the property owner or the tenant to install a burglar alarm system.
Tumblr media
While it's not yet determined why rental homes are more prone, it is clear that alarm systems for apartments keep tenants safe. Here are some of the reasons why renters require a burglar alarm system:
Ø Protection of possessions and property:  Tenants and landlords have to protect their property as vandalism or theft will cause financial losses to both.
Ø Insurance benefits: Properties with burglar alarm systems have lower insurance premiums as they are less prone to losses or damage by thieves.
Ø Crime deterrence: Security measures such as motion sensors, CCTV cameras, and house alarms deter possible burglars thus reducing the chances of property loss due to destruction or theft.
Ø Prevention measures: Security measures like sturdy locks on windows and doors are vital in hindering unauthorized property access.
Ø Increased value of the property: Rental homes with sturdy security measures are more desirable and safer for tenants. Installing security measures thus raises property value which is beneficial to landlords.
Intrusion detection alarm system is thus essential in rental homes as they ensure the safety of the possessions and property. Renters should thus consider a burglar alarm system as they will be guaranteed their security and the safety of their possessions.
How Does Rental Property Security differ from Owner-occupied Security?
Owner-occupied and Rental property security differs in different aspects.
For Landlords
Landlords are required the property free and safe from hazards for their tenants. This includes fire and electrical safety and ascertaining those electrical systems such as fittings, appliances, and sockets are safe. They have to provide carbon monoxide and smoke detectors to tenants for their safety.
They also have to ensure that the building has escape routes in case of any incidents. Additionally, they must ensure that the sheds, doors, garages, and windows have well-maintained locks.
For Tenants
While landlords are legally required to keep tenants' property safe, they are not legally required to install security systems. However, tenants can converse with their landlords to decide the best alarm system to install.
Tumblr media
Here are some:
Ø Renters have to employ do-it-yourself (DIY) home security system kits to prevent invasive mounting and hardwiring.
Ø Renters could add nights and blinds for improved security and close their curtains to prevent prying eyes.
Ø Tenants have to install security systems that do not invade other units to avoid problems.
Ø Renters may not be suited for long-term contracts because they might move from one place to another.
Ø In case renters install smart locks or secure door locks, they will have to share the new keys with the landlord.
Ø Renters should choose providers with customer-friendly and transparent policies for moving and monitoring the burglar alarm system.
How Much Is a Security System?
Installing a burglar alarm system is essential for your safety. Tenants need a security system because they are more prone to burglary than homeowners. But mostly, security systems have catered to homeowners with most of them being bound to the service provider by long-term contracts.
Currently, there are wireless systems that allow DIY installation. Such home security systems allow tenants to move and install their security systems with ease. DIY home security systems have an average cost of about $50 every month. They also offer flexible purchase options that allow buyers to choose a system that suits their budget. So, besides the monthly fees, you also have to account for the cost of the system which depends on your needs.

Other Affordable Ways to Improve Your Apartment Security
If you find it costly to acquire and maintain a burglary alarm system, other affordable methods can help you improve the security of your rental apartment. These methods include:
Ø Keeping the car keys safe or hiding them in a safe place.
Ø Keep your valuables away from open doors and windows to avoid attracting thieves.
Ø Ensure that all the doors including the garage doors where you keep your valuables are secure.
Ø Use motion sensor lights to light up trespassers and notify them that they are approaching a secured place using yard signs or a window decal.
Ø Add supplementary locks such as bolts or chain locks to the doors for additional security.
Ø Ensure the windows and the doors are locked whenever you leave the property for the safety of your belongings.
Ø Enhance the lighting of your rental apartment by ensuring that the hallways and entryways are properly lit to dissuade possible invaders.
Ø Place dummy alarm systems and CCTVs in open locations to scare possible invaders.
Final Words
Landlords are responsible for providing security and ensuring that all places have lockable doors and windows, but they are not responsible for installing burglary alarm systems. It is the responsibility of tenants to ensure that their rental equipment is fitted with the best security measures for their safety and the safety of their property.
Installing DIY home security alarm systems is among the best approaches to help improve security but tenants who cannot afford security systems can choose to employ some affordable security measures.

VPN encryption technology
VPN encryption technology plays a crucial role in ensuring the security and privacy of online activities. VPN, which stands for Virtual Private Network, creates a secure and encrypted connection between a user's device and the internet. This encryption technology works by converting data into a code that is unreadable without the appropriate decryption key.
One of the key benefits of VPN encryption technology is its ability to protect sensitive information from cyber threats such as hackers, identity thieves, and government surveillance. By encrypting data, VPNs make it nearly impossible for unauthorized parties to intercept and decipher the information being transmitted. This is especially important when using public Wi-Fi networks, where personal data is more vulnerable to security breaches.
Furthermore, VPN encryption technology allows users to bypass censorship and geo-blocks by masking their IP address and location. This enables individuals to access restricted content and websites, as well as enhance their online anonymity and privacy.
There are several encryption protocols used in VPN technology, including OpenVPN, L2TP/IPsec, SSTP, and IKEv2. These protocols offer varying levels of security and performance, giving users the flexibility to choose the one that best suits their needs.
In conclusion, VPN encryption technology is a powerful tool for safeguarding online activities and maintaining privacy in an increasingly digital world. By utilizing encryption protocols, users can enjoy a secure and unrestricted internet experience while protecting their sensitive information from prying eyes.
Government surveillance measures
Title: Understanding Government Surveillance Measures: Balancing Security and Privacy
Government surveillance measures have become a topic of intense debate, particularly in the digital age where technology enables unprecedented access to personal information. While these measures are often implemented with the intention of enhancing national security and preventing threats, they also raise significant concerns about privacy rights and civil liberties.
One of the most contentious aspects of government surveillance is the collection of mass data through programs such as mass surveillance programs, data mining, and metadata analysis. These practices involve the bulk collection of communications data, including emails, phone calls, and internet browsing history, often without individualized suspicion. While proponents argue that such measures are necessary to identify and thwart potential threats, critics contend that they constitute a gross violation of privacy rights and can lead to abuses of power.
Another area of concern is the use of surveillance technologies, including CCTV cameras, facial recognition systems, and biometric databases. While these technologies can be valuable tools for law enforcement in combating crime and terrorism, they also raise significant ethical and privacy concerns. For example, facial recognition technology has been criticized for its potential to infringe on individuals' rights to anonymity and freedom of movement, as well as its propensity for racial and gender bias.
In response to these concerns, there have been calls for greater transparency and oversight of government surveillance programs. Many civil liberties advocates argue that there needs to be more robust legal frameworks in place to ensure that surveillance measures are subject to judicial review and oversight. Additionally, there have been efforts to enhance privacy protections through measures such as encryption and anonymization techniques.
Ultimately, the debate surrounding government surveillance measures reflects a delicate balance between security and privacy. While it is essential to safeguard national security interests, it is equally important to uphold individual rights and freedoms. Achieving this balance requires thoughtful consideration of the ethical, legal, and societal implications of surveillance practices, as well as ongoing dialogue and engagement between policymakers, technology experts, and civil society stakeholders.
Internet privacy laws
Title: Navigating the Maze: Understanding Internet Privacy Laws
In the digital age, where every click and keystroke leaves a trail, internet privacy has become a paramount concern. To safeguard users' personal information from exploitation and misuse, governments around the world have enacted internet privacy laws. These regulations aim to strike a delicate balance between protecting individual privacy rights and enabling legitimate data use for business and innovation.
One of the most significant pieces of legislation in this domain is the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), implemented by the European Union (EU) in 2018. GDPR empowers individuals with greater control over their personal data, requiring businesses to obtain explicit consent for data collection and processing. It also mandates stringent measures for data security and imposes hefty fines for non-compliance.
Similarly, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), enacted in 2020, grants California residents enhanced rights regarding their personal information. Under CCPA, consumers can demand to know what data is being collected about them and have the right to opt-out of the sale of their data to third parties.
Beyond these, various countries have crafted their own internet privacy laws tailored to their unique legal frameworks and cultural contexts. For instance, Brazil's Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD) and India's Personal Data Protection Bill (PDPB) aim to regulate data processing activities within their jurisdictions.
Despite these advancements, challenges persist in ensuring comprehensive internet privacy protection. The rapid pace of technological innovation often outpaces regulatory efforts, leaving gaps in coverage. Moreover, the global nature of the internet raises jurisdictional issues, making enforcement complex across borders.
As technology continues to evolve, so too must internet privacy laws. Striking a balance between innovation and protection remains an ongoing challenge, requiring collaboration between governments, businesses, and civil society to uphold the fundamental right to privacy in the digital era.
Online anonymity tools
Title: Exploring the Benefits of Online Anonymity Tools
In today's digital age, concerns about online privacy and security have become increasingly prevalent. With the rise of cyber threats and data breaches, individuals are seeking ways to protect their online identities and activities. One effective solution that has gained popularity is the use of online anonymity tools.
Online anonymity tools, such as virtual private networks (VPNs), Tor browser, and encrypted messaging apps, offer users a secure way to browse the internet and communicate without revealing their true identities or locations. These tools work by encrypting internet traffic and masking IP addresses, making it difficult for third parties to track users' online activities.
One of the primary benefits of using online anonymity tools is enhanced privacy protection. By hiding their IP addresses, users can prevent websites, advertisers, and even government agencies from tracking their online behavior. This not only protects users from targeted advertising and unwanted surveillance but also helps safeguard sensitive information such as financial data and personal messages.
Moreover, online anonymity tools enable users to bypass censorship and access restricted content. In countries where internet freedom is limited, tools like VPNs and Tor browser allow individuals to circumvent government-imposed restrictions and access blocked websites and social media platforms.
Additionally, these tools can help prevent identity theft and fraud by keeping users' personal information secure. By encrypting data transmissions and anonymizing online activities, anonymity tools make it significantly harder for hackers and cybercriminals to intercept sensitive information or steal login credentials.
In conclusion, online anonymity tools play a crucial role in safeguarding individuals' privacy and security in an increasingly connected world. By utilizing these tools, users can browse the internet with confidence, knowing that their online activities are protected from prying eyes and potential threats.
User data protection laws
User data protection laws are essential in today's digital age to safeguard personal information and ensure privacy for individuals online. These laws govern how organizations collect, store, and utilize user data to prevent its misuse and unauthorized access.
One prominent example of user data protection laws is the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) implemented by the European Union. The GDPR sets strict guidelines for businesses operating within the EU or handling the personal data of EU citizens. It requires organizations to obtain explicit consent before collecting user data, disclose the purposes for which data is being collected, and implement robust security measures to safeguard this information.
In the United States, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) is another significant legislation aimed at protecting user data. The CCPA grants California residents the right to know what personal information is being collected about them, the right to opt-out of the sale of their data, and the right to request the deletion of their information from company databases.
User data protection laws are crucial for maintaining trust between consumers and businesses. By ensuring that personal information is handled responsibly and securely, these laws help prevent data breaches, identity theft, and other forms of cybercrime. Organizations that fail to comply with data protection laws may face severe penalties, including hefty fines and damage to their reputation.
In conclusion, user data protection laws play a vital role in safeguarding individuals' privacy in the digital landscape. It is crucial for businesses to uphold these laws and prioritize user data security to build trust with their customers and avoid legal consequences.
