fruity four is like "STEDDIE!!! oh well and yeah steve's lesbian sidekicks I guess"
YUUUUPPP.
and i mean. we're used to that with robin unfortunately (she's been fulfilling the spot as steve's gay mentor in many people's hornygrove's fanfictions :/) and that's frustrating in and of itself (according to rr, she's literally JUST found out she's a lesbian a year or so ago and has told exactly One person. girl she wouldn't know what bisexuality is) but it's also very frustrating w nancy
because many fruity four enjoyers don't even like nancy. and/or don't include her in general with fruity four and only ever talk about eddie, robin and steve. they either hate her for "breaking steve's heart" in s2 (steve hurt her more than she ever hurt him. Btw) or they just don't include her because, maybe subconsciously, she isn't "queer enough" for them.
n that last one is it's own can of worms but it's just so fascinating to me how they consistently treat ronance, robin, and nancy like shit, all in different ways. it's like. they were tryna speedrun the "how badly can you treat female characters" speedrun

bad news, mustache, I don't know how to draw you, so you'll have to go.
FH: Rebirth version of Ricardo Ortega.
Modified version of the last one *smh*.
Don't mind my babbling on him and Cy in Rebirth under the cut.
Talking vague about spoiler-ish stuff just in case.
Good thing there is an actual time line on this. Let's see:
Upon capture Cyrus’ first feelings wouldn’t be anger at Ortega for not coming for him. In his head, as usual, he fucked up and now Ricardo’s suffering over a lost friend (sure Cy has low self-esteem, but he’s not daft, he knows how attachment works, he knows Ortega would hurt over both Anathema and him). So self-bashing is the first resort.
It would be various types of feelings after that going in circles. From fear over whether they told Ortega who Cy was, to anger over no one coming for him, to shame over not telling Ricardo the truth.
So when he escaped, Cyrus decided he’s not bothering Ortega who seemed to have moved on and good for him. He missed Ortega tho. A lot.
So meeting in the diner was… nice. And scary. Cause Cyrus physically can’t outright lie to Ortega.
Cyrus should’ve been annoyed for being dragged to HQ to help the team (god knows, I’m still pissed at the “Omg, my best friend who I thought dead for 7 years, you are alive! C’mon, I have a job for you!” behavior), but Cyrus was
a) terrified
b) too used to the role of a tool
So he couldn’t push back, and annoyance for being used like that came later. Which he showed during their next meeting. But still gave the bastard a hug. Couldn’t help it.
Never the less, walk in the park lead to an argument (fuck, I love that scene) and even though Cyrus simmered down, he gave Ortega nothing and left. Because let’s be honest, any info he’d give at that point would lead to even more questions, that would compromise Cy’s secrets.
Behind the secrets lies the truth and there are two possible outcomes to it:
being accepted for who he is, which sounds nice and wholesome
the only person he cares about turning away from him
And the later one would be absolutely unbearable. Just thinking about it brings about so much terror. To the point he’d literally die first before risking seeing the actual outcome on that coin flip.
Can’t see Cyrus going anywhere close to the big truth around Ortega. He'd rather just stay away.
Cy’s secret crush is such spice when he has to interact with Ortega through Eden. For Cyrus to see what it’s like to be on the receiving end of Ricardo’s interest, with (almost) no obstacles in the way...
He doesn’t like that he has to be in someone else’s body for it though.
One thing for sure, he doesn’t feel the persistent fear around Ortega when he’s in Eden.
So fighting Ortega in earnest was… cathartic.
Plus, no confusion, where they stand. He was just an enemy. And a good fight. The only one who posed a problem.
Too bad Ortega is a stubborn bastard. Being free of some of the basic fears, Cyrus didn’t hold back.
Neither in combat nor in words. A moment of hesitation lead to a heartfelt monolog. Which brought Cyrus enough anger to finally knock the man out.
He regretted beating him up so badly, of course. Went to the hospital (to get another reason to beat himself over, I guess) and couldn’t help but give him a peck on the forehead. Which, apparently, gives Ortega too much room for assumptions.
I imagine it’s gonna get really complicated
if Ortega can help it

if a vegetarian vampire drinks human blood, do their powers become stronger? (since generally vampires are stronger when they drink human blood?)
I’m thinking of this in the context of jasper’s curse, that he claims the emotions of his “prey”/victims make feeding unpleasant, but wouldn’t eating people enhance his ability, increasing his suffering? like a fucked up little positive feedback loop
yes! Edward mentions it in Chapter 14 of Eclipse:
"Human blood makes us the strongest, though only fractionally. [...] That's why [newborn vampires] are so strong, of course. The newborns are full of human blood - their own blood, reacting to the change. It lingers in the tissues and strengthens them."
human blood increases the intensity of Jasper's gift/curse, perhaps a detectable amount but not a crippling amount. i'm sure the loss of self-control/discipline/mental acuity that veggie vamps seem to have would also adversely affect Jasper's ability to control his gift.
stupid idiot boyloser in his fucked up little feedback loop :) get fucked

hi dumb messy little fic thing
Silence. The boys are in a shitty car Hajime was given by the Future Foundation. One Izuto Kamukura is sleeping silently in the backseat with a Hajime-sized red hoodie draped over him haphazardly.
Things are wordlessly tense. Despite the smaller boy showing no signs of waking up anytime soon, Hajime can feel what can only be described as the watchful eye of a predator stalking it’s prey.
“…Hinata” Izuto murmured, voice cracking from a clear lack of use.
“OH uh…morning?” Hajime responded, unease creeping it's way into his tone.
“It’s 12:56”
Hajime turns to the car’s broken clock, it's cracked screen barely glowing at all, let alone displaying the time.
“How can you — oh uh, yeah”
Silence slowly gripped the small car once again, it's claws making it almost hard to breathe. That is, until Hajime once again heard a noise from the backseat.
“Is it like you wanted?”
“Huh?”
“You were in the reserve course. You mentioned you used to be fixated on talent and more specifically, your inherent lack.”
“Oh, yeah, you were watching the game with her, weren’t you”
“You would be hard pressed to find someone who didn’t watch the game.”
“Hahah yeah, Junko was… a lot of things, but she definitely seemed to have had a strong effect on others. I mean, you have Mukuro and whatever was going on there, and you have the remnants—“
“You’re avoiding the question”
“What?”
“I asked you a question. I expect an answer”
“Oh yeah uh…I guess? It’s a lot more pressure then I thought it would be”
Hajime couldn't help but let out an awkward laugh, his own desperate attempt at lightening the tension that the two had been drowning in.
“Elaborate”
“Why are you so interested in this? I thought everything was boring to you, Mr. God-among-ants.”
“Those are Enoshima’s words, not mine. You intrigue me, Hinata. I want to learn more about you and your psyche.”
“How am I interesting? What, are you gonna make fun of the octagon thing?”
“You’re a fellow Ultimate Hope, it’s only natural for me to want to investigate this talent in the wild. It’s hard to use yourself as a test subject for something so rare. Be glad I haven’t decided to dissect you yet.”
“Har har, good joke mr ultimate comedian”
...
“If you’re going to ignore my initial question, I have decided to move on”
“…ok?”
“What do you think they’re going to do with me?”
“What?”
“This is the second fastest route to the Future Foundation’s headquarters. What do you believe your superiors will do when you hand me over.”
“Oh well…they’ll probably put you on trial, and hold you accountable for your crimes.”
“Despite your overall...lack of abnormality, you’re smart, Hinata. You read the reports on what the academy did to me, and you know just how many of that staff was carried over to the Future Foundation. I was built to be a weapon. Do you truly think they could allow such a powerful resource to rot in a cell?”
“Well…”
“What do you think they’ll do when they get their hands on the remnants?”
“Wh-“
“What will happen to them, Hinata?”
“I-“
“What will happen to Nanami’s friends?”
“I DONT KNOW”
Hajime didn't mean to yell but it came out that way despite his intentions.
Silence ensues. Hajime assumes that Izuto has fallen asleep and lets out a sigh. He focuses on driving them for a while. That is until he hears an odd noise come from the back seat.
“Kamukura, what—“ he looks back to find tears falling from Izuto’s face
“I’m-” His voice gets caught on the way out.
“I’m scared, Hajime”
“I…”
Hajime turned to look Izuto in the eyes, he had never before seemed so. mentally present.
“…I won’t let them hurt you”
“…”
“Or the remnants.”
Izuto looks up at him, clarity shining through his eyes for a flicker of a blink of a moment.
“I promise”
“….”
Hajime turns his attention back to the road but he finds himself struggling to focus. They sit in silence for a beat. Izuto's voice is startlingly clear as he flatly states:
“If you truly want to keep your promise, you should watch where you’re driving”
“Wh—OH MY GOD”
Hajime then sharply swerves the wheel and very VERY narrowly misses one incredibly pissed Nagito Komaeda
