Time Travel Stony Fanfic
Character from the Future travels to the Past
A Shadow Hanging Over Our Fate by CaptainDean13
Summary: The Avengers get sent back in time to WWII where they run into the Howling Commandos... complete with Bucky and Steve. Little hard to explain that away, especially when you are trying to keep some major secrets. Secrets like how you ended up in the future and why the hell Bucky is now a scary (reformed) assassin with a metal arm, not to mention that you married your friend's son.
Note: A 1000/10 READ. THIS IS SO FREAKIN’ GOOD THAT I READ IT 3 TIMES SINCE I FIRST FOUND IT LAST YEAR. It’s a nice and well written time travel fic with the howling commandos and past Steve and Bucky!!
A New Way For Us by ann2who
Summary: They fight Thanos—and they’re losing. And before Tony knows what’s happening, he’s standing with Doctor Strange in front of the Eye of Agamotto and gets send back in time. Can he find a way to fix things this time around, or are they doomed to fall apart all over again?
Note: This is where Tony went back in time to fix everything that went wrong and prepare for the arrival of Thanos! Due to an unexpected twist of fate, he found himself getting closer to Steve of all people!
Two More Miracles (To Be A Saint) by queenpenthesilea
Summary: “Get up, Stark, you sleep too much. You said you would teach me paper football.”
Tony’s eyes snapped open. No. No. Had it all been a dream? Had he just imagined five years – five years - of an idyllic life, complete with a beautiful, wonderful daughter? He pushed himself up, looking around; he was on the Milano – he was on the fucking Milano, and either this was a really weird version of hell or everything had been a dream. Or, a little voice whispered, something had gone horribly, horribly wrong with the infinity stones.
Note: A nice and juicy post-Endgame Time Travel fanfic!! Though, this one held a few what ifs.
Saving the World is a 12 Step Program by janonny
Summary: Tony and Steve fall to pieces when Thanos’ wins.
Then they pick themselves up, and find a solution. They also find something infinitely more precious in the process.
-
“It’s going to sound pretty outrageous,” Tony admitted, rubbing a hand over his brow. While he had put on some weight and wasn’t as gaunt anymore, he was still easily tired nowadays.
“More outrageous than talking racoons and a purple villain traveling through space to collect magic stones?” Steve asked drily.
Note: This is another post-Endgame fanfic but with a twist and different take on the whole time travel!
Oh, Snap by wedelia
Summary: Peter wakes up, and he’s simultaneously five years too early and right on time.
Or, Post-Endgame Peter goes back in time and accidentally-on-purpose gets Steve and Tony together before the initial snap happens. And, oh, yeah—he also recruits a former-Air-Force-pilot-turned-galactic-hero, has lunch with Black Widow, and somehow befriends Nick Fury. This changes things.
Note: It’s Peter who time travels this time around!!
If We Never Got This Second Chance by Pookaseraph
Summary: When Tony and Steve’s son from the future, Jake Jensen, arrives at Avenger’s Tower, the two of them are forced to confront some hard truths: Tony that he might not actually become a horrible father, and Steve that he might not be able to set aside his discomfort with sharing a child with another man. When they both get a second chance at a first try at fatherhood, it’s up to the two of them to learn from their own future's past.
Note: Anyone up for some future son time travel? Enjoy this nicely written fanfic of Stony’s future son traveling and meeting the past versions of his parents! Past versions that are not even together yet! Things are about to get weird for Steve and Tony.
Your Name on Every Wall by Sineala
Summary: The Time Gem throws Steve into the past rather than the future, and in doing so, it gives him the opportunity to undo his past mistakes. But when it turns out that all of his mistakes involve Tony Stark, Steve begins to wonder if he's ever going to be able to mend things between them.
Note: A unique plot where Steve travels to the future and realizes what he is missing on!
Together, At Dawn by RoseGoldAmpersand
Summary: Steve returns the Infinity Stones to New York and finds himself in conversation with Tony of the past. More mature and willing to listen to Tony he realises that what he previously thought were taunts was actually Tony flirting with him.
In light of this new discovery and alone in Tony’s workshop after the battle of New York, one thing leads to another...
Note: ohhhhh, some juicy smut anyone?
  Don't Look Back, You Can Never Look Back. by iL0Vsuperman
Summary: Tony Stark: billionaire, playboy, philanthropist, and, now, superhero.
It’d only been a few months prior that he’d revealed to the world he was Iron Man and life couldn’t be better.
That is…until he stumbled upon an old abandoned Hydra lab and kinda set off one of their machines by accident. A blast of blue light later and he found himself in the same lab…only it is seventy years earlier and it is full of Hydra agents.
Cue the entrance of the Howling Commandos led by Tony’s childhood hero, Captain America.
Suddenly, Tony is living out a dream. He’s joining up with the Commandos in the search to get Tony back to his right era. It’s the adventure of a lifetime and, at first, it’s amazing…but then he and Steve connect in ways more than just friendship and he finds that he is torn between wanting to stay with him or go back home.
In the end, whatever the result, he loses.
Note: Tony meets his childhood heroes-the Howling Commandos and Captain America!
The Future is Yet in Your Power by FestiveFerret
Summary: "Now." Wong leaned back in his chair. "What would you do to save this world from Thanos' attack? What would you sacrifice?"
"Anything," Steve said. "Anything at all."
Wong considered him for a moment, expression unreadable. "There's one thing, maybe."
Note: This is nice fanfic about Steve putting everything on the line to hopefully make a change.
The Good or Bad Thing by petreparkour for SeetheSea
summary: “It’s the metal suit,” Thor informed Steve, his normally-booming voice tinny over the SHIELD comms. “What did Stark call it—Iron Man?”
“But he’s down here,” Steve protested as the Hulk roared in Stark’s face, startling him into waking with a shout. “How could—”“It’s damaged,” Thor reported. “But it looks different. More advanced. And he—ah. He’s carrying you, Captain.”
“Please tell me nobody kissed me,” Stark breathed out, and then Stark’s voice suddenly came over the comms, but the man lying next to him hadn’t moved.“
Guys, come on, you’re killing me here. What is it, 2012? God, I hate time travel. First, I'm fighting Thanos. Now, I have to deal with my past self and Thor's bad haircut? Oh my God, Cap, yes I hacked their comms, they’re my comms.”
Steve nearly opened his mouth to protest that he hadn’t said anything when he realized that this replica of Tony Stark wasn’t speaking to him.
Note: Future Tony and Steve accidentally traveling in the past!
  Character from the Past travels to the Future
hold the things you wanna say by SailorChibi
Summary: Tony is still a consultant, and between SI, the team and SHIELD he's overworked and exhausted. That's okay.
He and Steve have been having sex for weeks but that's all it is, just sex, and Tony wants more but he'll never get it and that's okay. Really.
What's not okay is the fact that Howard Stark has somehow appeared in the future and is the same as always.
This is definitely going to fuck up his schedule.
Note: ANGST! READY YOUR TISSUES.
Twice Upon a Time by TsaritsaElena
Summary: Tony Stark has never had an easy relationship with his father, but when Howard Stark circa 1983 time travels to the future in a freak accident, things get even more complicated, especially since Tony is dating his dad’s idol, Captain America, and Howard doesn’t know. As they work toward a solution that will restore Howard to his own timeline, will Tony get a second chance at a father-son relationship with his dad, or is he in for more of the same unforgiving treatment from Howard? Time travel, Avengers missions, and a secret project of Howard’s: things at Stark Tower are about to get a little crazy.
Note: SOME MORE ANGST AND HOWARD TRAVELLING TO THE FUTURE.
The Future Is Ours (Whether We Want It Or Not) by ann2who
Summary: After a hit from the Time Stone, Steve switches places with his future self.
Note: Another of Steve traveling to the future! Though this time, it features both timeline! Both POV of the past and future!
Ordinary Men by RiaRose
Summary: "Aren't you at all happy to see me?" Howard shot back, holding his glass out and pointing with his index finger. At Steve's stony face, he dropped his arm. "Want a glass?" he tried, picking up an empty tumbler, "This is good stuff."
"Tony doesn't skimp on - well - anything. And no, thank you."
"Was that Tony?" he queried, gesturing toward the hallway the other man had disappeared down. Steve nodded but didn't give any more information, so Howard repeated his earlier question, "Aren't you happy to see me?"
It took Steve a moment to answer. Howard could see his jaw working.
"No, not anymore."
OR
In which Howard travels to the future and just messes up everybody's day, Steve is conflicted, and Tony is a piping hot mess, as per usual. It's not going to be easy, but Steve and Tony have to somehow navigate through Howard's arrival and the strain it puts on their relationship.
Note: From the summary alone, you can tell that THIS WILL BE ANGSTY.
To Have My Time Again... by WilmaKins
Summary: It's been two years since Siberia, and Tony Stark is still dealing with the fallout - personal and political. Life is quite complicated enough, without Bruce falling through a wizards roof yelling that Thanos is coming.
Thor and Loki are stalling, but time is running out. The fate of the universe is at stake. Steve Rogers is back in the picture. Really, the last thing Tony needs is for their plan to go horribly wrong and bring Howard Stark forward in time.
But his Dad *is* standing in his office, whether he likes it or not.
So, it looks like Tony will have to fix that mess too.
Note: There is just something about Howard-travels-to-the-future fanfics.
Howard Stark Meets The Avengers by SerlinaBlack
Summary: Howard Stark unknowingly travels to the future with his son and wife. Luckily the heroes of the future were somewhat ready for it. Unluckily , they don't seem to like him very much
Alternative summery: when will Howard learn? Not now lmao.
Note: ANOTHER ONE.

Speaking of “tropes you have written for other fandoms but not Marvel (yet??)”, how would you populate a Royalty/medieval Stony AU? Cuz I love past fics of yours in those settings, and like both of the guys have Knight motifs to varying degrees, leadership vs ruling, etc etc. All good things for castle time. You got the King Arthur sleeping thing with Steve, you have expectations from birth with Tony, tis a rich well, so either one could be royalty (class issues keeping them apart?!?) or they both are (oh no arranged marriage! 😏)
Or like the route of neither of them are Royality at first. Steve is a captain of the guard and not nobility by birth so he can’t be a knight until he marries Tony, Tony is a knight and a part of the nobility with an indirect line to the throne (like a duke or earl or something) but he oops becomes King or near it? Or Thor can be king they serve or the ruler of an allied kingdom. anyway!
ALL THE MEDIEVAL AU TROPES! I love them all, and yes very true that both of them have kingship and knighthood elements in them, making all sorts of dynamics wonderful fun to read and explore. (Arranged marriage??? yesssss 😱)
OKAY since it’s brainstorming time, let’s go with someone who’s NOT them being at the top of food chain. How about putting Nick Fury and Maria Hill up there as the apex of the royal house, though whether their marriage is built on love or respect or shared purpose, it’s hard to tell, since they keep it so close to their chests.
Steve is a knight, but he got there the hard way through joining campaigns from when he was far too young, and rose through the ranks until he got the attention of more and more important people until it reached the king and he earns a title. He’s new nobility, automatically looked down on by the old families, and disliked for his supposedly upstart airs. Worse yet, the common people like him, and he has a tight band of knights around him that are loyal to him (and not necessarily to the crown). You can’t trust the intentions someone like that! Not that Steve cares about what people think of him, but to do his job in serving his prince and the people, he needs to learn politicking and being a good landowner, and he’s perhaps less good at the former than at the latter.
Tony, on the other hand, is old nobility. He was the heir set to inherit everything, but was too smart for his own good and craved knowledge beyond what was expected of him. Upon being threatened with disinheritance, he openly rebels and joins the church (access to knowledge + upward mobility that’s mostly independent of his father) and over time becomes a warrior bishop (they weren’t celibate anyway) and chancellor to the king by his own merit. He’s a powerful right hand man, balancing the power struggles of the court via a network of spies and unpredictable forward-thinking. Some people say he’s the real power behind the crown, and though he cannot trust Fury to not one day turn on him, he's determined to do his best with what time he has.
SO! Here’s Steve and Tony, ostensibly serving the same master but very differently, and of course they don’t trust or like each other the moment they’re in proximity. Old nobility grew up knowing each other, but Steve coming from the outside means that Tony doesn’t know him as a person, and Steve being at war for most of his life means that he’s only ever heard tale of Tony through others. Steve and Tony are wary of each other, and that wars with their desire to protect the kingdom and serve their king, who seems to trust the other one with his life, but how can that be true? Surely Fury’s judgment is better than that!
Like, Steve knows their world is a hypocritical one, but Tony is far more hypocritical than most and dangerously devious and clearly underhanded to boot. Meanwhile, Tony has seen too many people use martial power in making moves for the throne, and everyone knows that soldiers without a war to fight only cause trouble wherever they go.
Steve and Tony are on the same side, but not. Their initial politeness gives way to open butting heads once they see right through each other -- Steve is disinterested in playing the game, and Tony doesn’t know how to control Steve in the way most beneficial to him. They disagree on strategy, policy, ceremony, and even the size of meals to be had at court. It becomes sport to see what new antics Fury’s two trusted confidants will be up to any other day.
Then Fury, either on his last tether or curious to see what happens (no one can tell what he’s really thinking), sends Steve and Tony away on a vital embassy to another kingdom. Their job is critical and they know it, they have to rise up and they totally would if only the other person weren’t so goddamned stubborn.
Then, I don’t know, somewhere during the weeks of travel they slowly thaw to each other and in seeing more of each in day-to-day management without the backstabbing atmosphere of court pressing down on them, Steve finally notices Tony’s thoughtfulness towards the people who work him, and Tony notices that Steve is sharp enough to only start fights that can be ended quickly and were never able to be solved by talking anyway.
Maybe one of them risks their life to save the other, and they’re so shocked about it that honesty spills out (”What do you really think of our king?” “WELL if he was as smart as he’d have us believe he wouldn’t have sent us both away at the same time.” “YES HOW IS THIS IS ANY WAY PROTECTING THE REALM.” “PRECISELY THANK YOU anyway what do you think about this embassy I think it’s bullshit”) and they figure out, rather belatedly, that they’re far powerful when working together, bringing their tremendous sphere of influence into one while letting other people think that they’re still enemies.
Fury figures out they’re having an affair immediately, though.
Also maybe like, against all odds they survive a lifetime of fighting and sell off their lands to retire quietly in some reclusive property at the very edge of the kingdom. Only a handful of people know they’re there and come to them for advice sometimes. It’s peaceful there.

Burning Light
loki x oc
warnings: blood, war, almost deaths
Writing this has been super enjoyable for me. It's based off of Safe & Sound by Taylor Swift and The Central Wars. I really like the song and it gave me a jolt of inspiration.
Some angst and fluff, with a happy ending
Word count: 3.5k
I'm looking forward to have some of you read it. I know it may not reach lots of people but I do hope it brightens up someone's day :)
Unmistakeable clashing and clanging of swords echoed through the once-peaceful city - which lay in eerie unrest. Warriors strapped in bloodstained armour, which was once a lustrous luminescent gold, rushed around with panic-stricken faces, bringing their injured colleages with them. Their faces unrecognisable - smeared with tainted, crimson blood. Eyes once filled with joy and life had become dull with exhaustion. Even the children could tell something had gone quite wrong as they were being scrambled to safety. How couldn’t they, when only hours before they had been blithely engaging in play. Now they were being dragged into the promised safety of their homes. Still, on this side of town, the situation was slightly better.
Nevertheless, the fact was painfully clear; Asgard was at war.
A war that had only just begun. A war that would wreak just as much havoc as any other, unless handled conscientiously. Currently, that wasn’t going so well. The opposing kingdom hadn’t spoken of a reason to wage this sanguinary battle. They just barged in guns-a-blazing. One could only hope it would be over soon.
In the opposite side of town, the infamous Asgardian army, known for its expertise and experience, was busy and bustling. Healers were tending to those caught in the crossfire while others were getting ready to join it. The warriors were determined; they were trained meticulously for situations like these.
One such warrior was buckling up her hefty armor on her body, following that by trying to tie back her flowing vermillion-red hair. Unsuccessful, she stood straight. Tall, dignified and regal; she was a sophisticated beauty. And she knew it.
In need of help, the girl surveyed her surroundings. Brilliant blue eyes darted to and fro to gauge someone who could possibly help. Then, gleefully, she spotted a familiar face walk by. A very familiar face indeed.
With a hastily thought out plan-of-attack, Ilaire sauntered towards the aformentioned person. Wrapping her arms around him, she sultrily whispered in his ear, “Hey, Loki. Could you help me with my tiresome hair”.
Though Ilaire couldn’t see it, a slow smirk settled upon the trickster’s face. Loki turned on his heel and susurrated, “Darling, you need not put on that act. I would help you if you simply asked, after all have we not been friends since adolescence?”.
Ilaire flippantly nodded in answer as a chesire cat grin took over her face at having succeeded in her task. She flipped around to give Loki better access to her hair. Without complaint, Loki took charge of her fiery silken hair and began to masterfully twist her hair into an elegant yet practical fashion, as if he had done it all his life. In a sort of way, he had. With a raised hand, Ilaire tried - in vain - to pass a ribbon to Loki to tie her hair back.
“Don’t bother, I have already used my seidr to place a ribbon in your hair”, Loki acknowledged, amused. “It’s emerald green, isn’t it?”,exasperated, the warrior questioned with her hand on the bridge of her nose.
Loki chuckled in response.
“Well, thank you anyway”, she said as she stood on her tiptoes and kissed him on the cheek.
For a second, Loki’s mask of cold indifference slipped and gave way to something softer, akin to endearment. But it came back up just as Thor’s voice boomed across the army quarters.
“WARRIORS! The next waves must get ready to leave. Wave 32 and 33 get into position in 10 minutes, with Leaders Prince Loki and Lady Ilaire on the frontlines!”.
Centuries ago, Loki and Ilaire had trained together diligently and achieved higher ranks in the army hierarchy together. Both had now been promoted to a Leader position, the second highest position, preceded only by the Chief.
Thor’s information brought a surge of sobriety to the bantering friends as they realised what they were about to go into. They looked to each other, their eyes met and both nodded at the same time with locked jaws and unyielding glares. Synchronised, they turned to their corresponding waves and bellowed, “GET INTO POSITION WARRIORS!”.
A clangour resonated as the warriors began to put the remaining pieces of armour on. Ilaire’s usually welcoming eyes grew dark. Loki’s gaze grew steely. With a grave expression, Thor strode to their area. Without missing a beat, he trapped both Ilaire and Loki in an unwavering hug. It portrayed all of his emotions: distress; fear and concern. As he continued to not let them go, Loki’s choked voice broke out, “Brother, you must let us go”. Reluctantly, Thor pulled back and Ilaire could’ve sworn that his eyes were wetter than before. “Brother. Sister. Be careful. And most of all come back alive,” Thor spoke in a brittle voice.
Somewhere along the line, Ilaire had become an honorary Odinson family member. To Thor she was a sister and to Loki, she hoped she was something more. Still, a new wave of emotion passed over Ilaire as she heard Thor call her his sister. She fought valiantly to not be overcome with tearful sobs.
“Do not worry, Chief,” she called him in unbridled affection “We will try our best”, she replied in a hoarse manner. “Don’t miss us too much,” Loki too replied, with a rare smile and a suave salute.
The red-haired warrior clashed her sword on her shield to catch the attention of her assigned wave. “Alright, team! We’ve trained together for 150 years. We will continue to train far longer than that! We must! So go out and show those brutely creatures WHO’S BOSS!”, Ilaire’s battlecry washed over her warriors.
As the gates opened and perfectly formed formations walked out, merciless stony gazes could be seen all around. Loki and Ilaire stood at the frontlines, the wind amplifying their battle-hardened gazes. They both walked on the bloodsoaked ground, unfaltering, with a mission. As they got closer to the first of the aliens, Ilaire slashed at one, sending it accross the battleground. Beneath her feet, alien remains squelched and the air zinged with bloodshed.
The aliens were a sickly yellow with a strange slimy goo coating them. They were of a medium stature. Not too big but not too small. Ilaire had never seen such creatures.
Loki snarkily thought ‘They’re about Thor’s size. Doesn’t seem like this will be too hard’.
All around the two leaders, fights were breaking out and more yellow creatures were going down with them. Soldiers were slashing and punching with unmatched gusto. A pile of miserable dead opponents was starting to build up. Then something strange happened.
Something no one would’ve expected.
Something that shocked everyone.
Something that made perfect sense considering the earlier bloodshed.
The creatures that had been piled on top of each other started to melt and then meld together. It was a ghastly view. Bones shifting and rotting skin stretching. The creatures had melded together to become one mega-creature. A mega-creature larger than the small aliens before. Larger than Thor.
This truth dawned on the fighting forces and panic started brimming. Nothing like this had ever been faced before. It was entirely unprecedented. The Asgardian army certainly wasn’t trained for this. And judging by the drained, feeble warriors taken back to the healers, the other waves hadn’t realised this either. Alarm bells started ringing in Loki and Ilaire’s minds.
Loki’s mind started racing while simultaneously fighting off more of the alien soldiers.
Ilaire was frantically trying to think of a solution.
All thoughts seemed to evade them. The realm’s greatest minds had gone suddenly blank.
Panic was bubbling and almost tangible in the air.
One of the warriors, thankfully, came to the rescue, saving the situation like it was a damsel in distress. “SEPARATE THEM ONCE YOU KILL THEM, THAT WAY THEY CAN’T MOLD TOGETHER!”.
Ilaire let out a much-needed sigh of relief, yet she knew the real battle still remained. With a new plan, the waves started fighting with renewed vigour. After each kill, the creature was picked up and thrown on an empty space. Swords pierced and clanged, blood spattered and the beginnings of victory were starting to be seen. It was so close yet so far. Right within a hand’s reach, yet victory had not yet been snatched.
As Ilaire swerved to fight off another mega-creature, one approached from behind. WIth her eyes on the creature she was fighting, Ilaire did not notice the second creature. Loki’s mouth started to open in warning as he watched in fright. Unfortunately, his warning was a few seconds too slow. The creature grabbed a fallen sword and gashed at the sliver of skin between Ilaire’s chest and back armour with a mighty roar. Then a few things happened in succession.
A breathy gasp left Ilaire’s mouth as her hands grasped at her side, trying to gauge the situation. Her sword had unceremoniously dropped to the floor and lay lackadaisical. Her hands came away covered in her own blood, as more started to seep out. Crimson. Her breaths became raspy as she fell to her knees, head bowed. Several screams could be heard. Two of those were Loki and Thor.
Loki elbowed and slashed his way with an unmatched rage to reach his best friend. His mind was racing with denial, 'It could not end like this. It would not end like this.’
“Get out of the WAY!” he barked with barely held back anger.
Near the army quarters, Thor was making his way out to the battlefield. He would not sit by idly as his family was attacked. It was his turn.
As Thor reached his brother, he saw him kneeling beside Ilaire, undoing her armor and ripping a shred of his tunic to wrap it around her bleeding torso. “Take her to the healers, I will take care of this now,” Thor uttered quietly, yet if one looked closely, the simmering anger under his words was visible.
Then he yelled and charged towards his sorry opponents.
This left Loki. He looped his arms under her knees and shoulders and picked up Ilaire, and began to carry her towards the army quarters. “Love, look at me,” he spoke softly with a tender gaze.
It was getting harder for Ilaire to see by the minute as more blood was lost and her vision was spotting. “I can’t… I can’t,” Ilaire answered. A weak whimper escaped her lips.
“Yes, you can! Just focus on me”
Loki was starting to jog now, in desperation.
Commandingly, a shrill sound reverberated throughout the air. “LOKI ODINSON. WE ARE HERE TO COLLECT YOU. COME WITH US OR HAVE YOUR REALM FACE THE DISASTROUS CONSEQUENCES”.
Everything was going wrong. How could it have gone so wrong? Too much blood spilt and too many lives being lost by the minute.
Ilaire didn’t know what to do with this new command. Loki continued walking with an unreadable look on his face.
Ilaire struggled to keep her eyes open, but she got through until they had reached the healers.
A healer began to assess her; poking and prodding at the wound. Loki’s deperate voice rose, “Do something! Help her!”.
“The salve may take too long to brew. It could be too late for her,” the healer replied with an apologetic gaze.
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN! HELP HER! I AM THE PRINCE OF ASGARD AND SHE, A LADY OF THE COURT! THERE MUST BE SOMETHING YOU CAN DO!” Loki hissed.
“Prince Loki, we will try our best but there’s no guarantee”.
Loki growled and ran his hand through his hair in frustration. He was mad. He had injured himself too much to be able to use his magic. If only he fought more efficiently, if only he did more - maybe he could have healed her. If only.
After a grueling half hour, the healer gave the confirmation.
A half hour of desperate waiting for the news.
A half hour that seemed miles longer than it was.
Ilaire would make it.
'She's gonna make it'
Loki let out the breath he had been holding and slumped in a chair with relief. He had refused to let her out of his sight. A weary smile took shape on his face and he let out a breathless laugh of joy.
“Prince Loki, take her to the royal chambers and allow her to sleep. Until now she has had to stay awake until her healing was confirmed, in case of her becoming comatose,” the healer instructed Loki.
He walked to the stretcher Ilaire was laid upon and picked her up in the same style again. Ilaire wrapped her arms around Loki’s neck in a hug. “You’re alright,” Loki spoke through deep breaths with a reciprocated hug, rubbing her back to soothe her. Ilaire hugged him tightly. She almost died. She hugged him like it was her last time, because it very well could be. She didn’t want to waste this precious time.
God, Loki was grateful. Grateful she made it. He didn’t know what he would’ve done if something happened to her.
_______
Ilaire was carried to the Royal Palace adjoining to the army quarters. As she was gently dropped on her bed, she spoke for the first time since her attack. She knew Loki would go to the opposing kingdom. He would not wage a war on his own kingdom. “Don’t go Loki,” she pleaded, “I’ll never let you go”.
“Ilaire, I have to go. You know I do,” a tear ran down his face as he spoke the words that would seal his fate. A fate without her.
“Don’t leave me here alone,” Ilaire choked out as hot tears brimed in her eyes. “You’ll always have my spirit. Just think of me,” Loki smiled through the gut-wrenching pain. He really, really didn’t want to leave. But, for once, he wanted to do the right thing. For once, he wanted to earn her friendship.
“Go to sleep, Ilaire. You need it to heal,” Loki cleared his throat before speaking. A protest fought to release itself from Ilaire’s mouth but Loki raised a hand to cut it off. “You know I must do this. There is no use in arguing. I just want you to be safe”, his voice grew hoarse at his last words.
Loki spoke again, “Just close your eyes, the sun is going down. You’ll be alright, no one can hurt you now. Come morning light, you’ll be safe and sound”.
As much as she tried to fight it, Ilaire could not hold off sleep any longer. She wished she could stay awake so that she could convince the love of her life to stay. She wished he didn’t have to sacrifice himself. She wished he didn’t have to go at all. She wished to say and hear so many things that had been left unsaid. But sleep was consuming her. And time was running out. The sand in the hypothetical hourglass was falling at an ever-faster rate.
As her eyelides fluttered, she started to speak, “I lo…,” before sleep consumed her and she trailed off.
She had failed to say those three small words. Three small words. The ones that could’ve changed her life. The ones she will never get to say to him again.
Loki stood and wiped the tears off her face and kissed her cheek, before bringing up a blanket to cover her.
“I love you, Ilaire. I wish we had more time. But we do not. Maybe, one day, we’ll find each other in a another life and live peacefully. Who knows, we could have had a beautiful castle with the most magnificent grounds. Overlooking a view almost as beautiful as you. Or maybe we could’ve had a cottage. On the edge of the woods, next to a crystal clear lake", Loki spoke. He knew as he uttered those words that they will never get to do that now.
Neither heard the words of the other.
With that, he left, making his way back on to the battlefield.
__________
"IT IS I, LOKI ODINSON,” he presented himself. The alien leader made his way to the front. “Goodness, you’re a puny one. Whatever. Chain him, minions”, the yellow leader commanded. Thor watched in shocked silence. But even he knew that this had to be done. The brothers nodded to each other in farewell.
Loki was dragged, in chains, to the ostentatious spaceship of the aliens.
“You have stolen from me, Odinson,” a voice reached him. Loki struggled to remember what he had stolen. There were so many things he had recently pilfered. Then it hit him. He had stolen Maricusan. The most versatile and strong material in the nine realms. This material was used to make the Odinson family armors. And it came from Maricus. The planet known for being deceitful. This meant that their word was false. Unsurprisingly, they were also known for making false deals.
They would not only kill Loki but pillage Asgard too. At this moment, Loki realised he was in deep shit.
A minute ago, he had gone willingly. Now he would fight back. He would fight back to see his brother. He would fight back to see his beloved. With one swift motion, he pulled his hands apart, resulting in the chains snapping with an audible snap. As creatures advanced on him, he kicked and punched while using his clones to distract. Then, through the corner of his eye, he saw an opening in the door, which he managed to slip through.
As he re-entered the battlefield once again, he signaled to Thor. Thor’s eyes widened in shock at the sight of his brother. By now, he too had discovered the yellow Maricusians’ melding properties. The two brother came up with the quickest battle strategy they had ever made and got to work.
____________
In the Royal Palace, Ilaire had woken up. Her sleep was restless and a headache plagued her along with her rampant thoughts. Her beloved was going to sacrifice himself. Or maybe he had done so already. Pain stabbed her heart and tears started to collect in her eyes again. She did not want to be a whiny mess, but what else was she supposed to do? She was helpless against fate.
Sobs warcked her body. Then she saw a glint through her window. She curiously peeked towards it. Then she noticed the ongoing battle. The war was raging on. Now she was confused. Brows furrowed, she looked harder. Then. Then she saw the trademark emerald green and gold. Her heart soared in hope she dared not have.
'Was that Loki?'
She impatiently waited for the man to turn around, biting her nails in nervousness. Sand fell tantalizingly slow in the hypothetical hourglass. Time trickled by leisurely. Never had a moment seemed so long.
It was Loki.
The man was Loki.
A beaming smile broke out on her face as her tears turned to those of joy. She could hear a joyful tune playing in her head. It was a victory song. She felt victorious. She felt victorious for the first time on that horrendous day.
Their eyes met, and their smiles matched. Loki's eyes glinted with affection.
Too weak to join her warriors, Ilaire looked out at the battlefield. Nervously, waiting and hoping. And when the last blow happened, she was lost in felicity. They had done it. They had won. They got through unscathed. Sort of.
Hurriedly, Ilaire raced as fast as she could with her striking injury to get out to the battlefield. She saw Loki and he saw her. He held his arms out and she jumped into them, hugging him ferociously.
“Darling, you should be resting. That is a rather large wound,” he spoke in relief. He was glad to see her.
“You were supposed to die!” she replied.
“Good to know you like me alive,” Loki grumbled.
Like that, the two continued to banter, as Loki walked her back to her chambers, a hand around her shoulders too keep her steady.
When Ilaire entered her room, she started to speak, “Loki, there are many things I wish to say to you. One thing in particular. As I was thinking about possibly losing you, I thought of the things I never got to say”. She paused to gather her breath and to collect strength. She oh-so-very desperately hoped her words didn't come out as verbal diarrhoea.
“I love you. I love you, Loki. I have ever since you picked out that flower bouquet for me. Or when you spar with me. Or when we argue.” She chuckled, “I still keep those flowers preserved because its such a lovely memory.”
She stood with bated breath and nervousness running through her veins.
Loki's face had become softer somehow. His eyes were warm. And when Ilaire realised that this warmth was directed towards her, butterflies collected in her stomach.
“Ilaire, I adore you. I love you with the heat of a thousand suns. Yes, I know that’s cliche. But those are my feelings. You are my beacon when everything else fails. So, I wish to ask you something."
A pause.
Be mine?” he asked with a tender smile and soft blue eyes.
“Say that again,” Ilaire commanded hoarsely.
“Be mine” he smirked.
“Yes,” Ilaire whispered breathily.
Loki rushed forward and gathered Ilaire in his arms, glad to have found his love; his best friend.
“Come morning light, you and I’ll be… safe and sound”
This is what I imagine my OC to look like. Feel free to change as you please :)

RT6: Are We There Yet?
The first two hours were spent checking out the bus. It had two floors damn it! They needed to mark their territories.
One hour later, the heroes wanted to kill each other.
Thor was arguing with Steve.
Bucky and Loki were defending their backstories.
Clint was very passionately defending his role in the team to MJ.
Tony was trying his hardest to get in the last word against Stephen.
Bruce was nursing a headache as Peter was endlessly talking science.
Natasha was quietly and steadily painting her toes.
Until the bus jerked to a stop.
Natasha: fucking seriously!?
Tony: alright, everybody out!
Everyone: sighed and grunted and stormed out of the bus.
Wanda *landing next to the team*: So? You guys having fun without us?
Vision *next to Wanda*: It doesn't appear to be.
Harley *with Vision*: duh! they forgot me. I'm the life o the party!
Harley *walks over to Peter, clearly noticing the girl next to him*: sup bitch! *ruffles Peter's hair*
Peter *shrugs off Harley*: jerk
Harley *to MJ, and anyone else who didn't know him yet,*: I'm Harley, Peter's not older brother and definitely not Irondouche's first.
Stephen and Loki stifle their laughs
Bruce: can we keep going, now please?
Steve: alright, everyone. Back on the bus.
Bruce goes on first. The door is wide enough for two people to get on together.
Wanda and MJ are in by now.
Tony goes on after Nat and Loki.
Stephen follows.
Harley and Bucky are next, Steve then Peter after.
Tony stays by the door, letting people pass him.
As Harley and Bucky are passing, the younger of the two falls down a step.
Tony: honest to god! Is it in your code to keep killing my family
Bucky *startled by Harley's fall*: I-
Steve *still on the ground*: that's enough, Tony!
Tony: tell that to bionicle over here
Steve *steps up*: it was an accident, let it go
Tony: easy for you to say *stabs finger in Steve's chest* he didn't hurt you
Everyone: is not blind to the sexual tension
Harley: *still on the floor between Steve and Tony*
Peter: *still behind Steve*
Harley trips Tony. Peter shoots a web at Steve's back, pushing him up
Tony and Steve accidentally lip lock.
Clint: /fucking finally/
Everyone: smirking
Steve: *pulls away*
Tony: *red as a tomato*
Tony: l-let's move. *finally walks up*
Steve: *gets on the bus*
Peter and anyone else still not on get on and bus moves.
Wanda: *makes a new group chat sans Stony*
Dadvengers chat
Me: starting bets at $20
Owe her a jacket: $100 on Steve saying it first
Friend of a friend: Steve? No! That idiot can take a fight, but he is not gonna make the first move. $80, on Tony
Birdad: $60 they don't bring it up again
Green: $80... on they don't bring it up again. Those two are too dense to see what's right in front of them.
Tony 2.0: $100 on the grampsicle
Sparker: whaat! No, Mr. Stark's gonna get his man. Bet $100
Blue: I seem to agree with Mr. Parker. Stark's big ego couldn't handle not being first. But I'll bet $60 to be safe
Big one: I don't have enough information to make a clear bet. Let's see it out a bit first.
Tony 2.0: what's our stop anyway?
😍😍: I believe we are stopping at a candy factory
Everyone: wohoo
∞∞∞∞
place your bets, people!
Steve

I am having a really nad day at work 😞 i got overwhelmed wuth customers today and may have gotten orders wrong and i wanna go die. Lmao can i request a 03 for stony?
I’m so sorry to hear that; bad days at work are the Worst. Here is a lovely little ficlet for you darling and I hope your day gets better soon (this got long)
3. A breathy demand: “Kiss me” - and what the other person does to respond.
It starts with a curse. Or rather it starts with an angry Asgardian witch who’s bitter about Thor’s upcoming nuptials to Dr. Foster. The Avengers were sent in to try to talk her down - Steve doesn’t know why; the Avengers are terrible at talking people down - which leads them to where they are now: with Nat knocked unconscious and Tony cursed.
Amora had cocked her head at Tony after one of his sarcastic remarks about how her obsession with Thor must be true love. “True love, you say?” she’d asked thoughtfully. “You wouldn’t know the meaning.”
To everyone’s surprise, Tony had flushed bright red, visible only because Amora had rendered the armor useless at the beginning of the fight.
Amora had clucked sympathetically. “Or perhaps you do. Very well. If you cannot empathize with our shared situations then perhaps it is time you were taught a lesson. I’ve been reading about your silly Midgardian fairy tales so I think I’ll leave you with a little gift. You’re past the age, of course, but I think something else will do nicely.”
Steve had readied himself to attack her but she had pinned the Avengers to the wall with scarcely a wave of her hand as she continued to advance on Tony. “Before the sun sets in sixteen hours, if you have not kissed your true love by that time, you will fall into a dreamless sleep forever more.”
That had been fifteen hours ago.
They’ve tried everything, from bringing in Pepper to calling up Tony’s college girlfriend, Rumiko, to even trying Rhodey. Nothing has worked. Tony, it seems, may very well be doomed. He’s downstairs now with the other Avengers, seeing if any one of them is his true love.
Steve should be with them. He had been with them but he’d left a few hours ago, unable to watch because-
Because he loves Tony.
He loves him and it’s killing him that he hadn’t been the first person Tony had asked to kiss him. He loves him and he can’t bear to watch Tony kiss person after person, hoping against hoping that one of them will be the one to save Tony’s life and hoping against hoping that none of them are his true love. He’s loved Tony silently since the moment Tony opened his eyes on the pavement in New York and promptly made a sassy quip but Tony has never so much as looked twice at him. He loves him and he thinks it might actually tear him apart if he has to watch Tony fall in love with someone who isn’t him.
It’s selfish, he knows that. He knows too that eventually Tony will track him down and ask to kiss him and it’ll tear him apart because he knows it won’t work but what choice does he have? He would do anything Tony asks him to do.
Somewhere, a clock is ticking closer to the sixteenth hour.
And Steve sits next to the window drawing a scene of Tony laughing at one of DUM-E’s antics from his memory. He wants to remember Tony like this, smiling and happy and so, so beautiful, not as he will be in a few short minutes.
The time is ticking down and Steve should be down there, spending the last couple minutes with Tony, soaking in his love’s presence one last time, but he can’t bring himself to move.
And then it doesn’t matter when Tony pokes his head around the door. “Hey,” he says quietly. “Wondered where you went. Should’ve known you’d be up here.”
“Hi,” Steve replies, trying to muster up a smile and only managing a grimace. “Here to ask me?”
Tony studies him with unreadable dark eyes and Steve hates that. Tony should be an open book like he always is. Eventually, the brunet says, “Not if you don’t want to.”
The pencil in Steve’s hand snaps in half. “How can you say that?” he demands. “Don’t you care what-”
“Of course I do,” Tony snaps, stalking closer. “But your happiness is important to and if you don’t want to kiss me, I won’t force that on you. What kind of friend do you think I am? I-” He deflates, standing now only a few inches away from Steve. “-I wanted to spend my last couple minutes with you.”
Steve frowns. “Why would you want to do that?” he asks before he can stop himself.
Tony smiles sadly. “I always do,” he admits. “I-”
He stops, catching sight of Steve’s sketchbook. “I-”
He takes a closer look at it, cocking his head curiously. Steve moves to hide it but Tony’s hand shoots out to stop him. “That’s me,” Tony says wonderingly. “Is that how you see me?”
Tony is dying and Steve finds he cannot lie to him. “Yes,” he says simply and nothing more because some things are too personal even though Tony’s eyes are far, far too knowing now.
“Steve,” Tony begins, hands reaching out to tug Steve to standing. Like this, they’re all but breathing the same air. Steve can feel the heat radiating off of him. Tony’s always so warm, so full of life, and he isn’t ready to see him go cold. “Steve.” Tony sounds breathless and Steve can’t imagine why but his own is catching in his throat. “Kiss me.”
Steve can’t deny him anything. He bends down, hands framing Tony’s face as Tony’s eyelids flutter closed. He kisses first the right eyelid - gently, he reminds himself - then the left. Tony is trembling and Steve has to remember that now isn’t the time to comfort him when there’s so little time left. He kisses him, gently, tenderly, pouring his heart and his love and everything that he is into this one kiss, the only one that he’ll get with Tony. It’s perfect, it’s everything he’s been dreaming of, of Tony beneath him, kissing him, making him sigh, but he doesn’t have the right to this. He pulls back, afraid that Tony will go limp, that this hadn’t been enough.
Somewhere, a clock strikes the sixteenth hour.
And Tony opens his eyes.

21 THINGS I LOVED ABOUT ENDGAME
HEAVY SPOILERS. I always tag #endgame spoilers, so make sure to block that if you haven’t
1. THE FIRST 20 MINS
Expectations? Chuck them out the window. They weren’t kidding when they said all promotional material came from the first 20 mins!!! I loved how they got right into the thick of things, cameras blazing, completely no nonsense. And CAROL omg. Also I did NOT expect Thanos’ death to be, Just Like That.
2. The Time Jump.
Very, very smart move. I liked everything about the time jump. It lets us view the event with a lens of a world shattered, a world that has had the chance to come to its senses and reel from the catastrophe.
Although it might have other implications for FFH (like, how the hell is Ned still in Peter's class if he survived? Unless the entire decathlon team got dusted together, which, hey, kinda depressing but like they say, People who decathlon together, Dust together!)
3. Intro of Thor and Clint
The cinematographic shift, including atmosphere and music, was a bit jarring, but I quite liked it. And Korg and Meek! Just hanging out
Although I’m curious, why didn’t y’all give Thor body hair? He’s got a wild beard, a dadbod with a beerbelly... He ought to have a hairy chest/stomach! Same with Clint. That japanese dude Clint killed was still speaking after his throat got slit. Wut.
4. Scott Lang.
Just. Every joke he made. Fantastic.
But also I did not expect to shed my first tear at his and Cassie’s reunion. That was great.
5. Morgan. Tony and Morgan. Tony and Peter’s photo.
Domestic Tony. So soft. AND THAT PHOTO WAS HIS. In HIS HOUSE. FRAMED. I REALLY wish we got more but that moment was very powerful. Still, I was unsatisfied. I wanted Tony to cry. I wanted Morgan to also know about Peter. Basically I want more canonical proof of Irondad Spiderson. Like, listen, this is the one loss that haunts Tony to this day. Peter’s death was the kind of pain that made Tony terrified of going again, for fear of losing Morgan.
6. THE NYC SCENE.
ALL of it. From Tony the security guard, to him talking shit about his own deodorant, to him giving himself a cardiac arrest to cause a diversion and being like this is fine, nothing to see here. And Hulk vs stairs. And STEEB. OMG STEEB. “Hail Hydra.“ “I’ve got visuals on Loki.” “I can do this all da--“ “Yeah. I know. I know.“
“Bucky... Is... ALIVE“
And butt jokes. So many Steve buttjokes. I don’t ship stony, but that is the closest y’all will get to a stony suggestive scene.
ALSO LOKI just yeeting himself outta there. That’s ma boi!
7. Frigga and Thor.
Nuff said. Mama Frigga is the best.
8. Tony and Howard.
It’s really great how adorable Tony was throughout this scene. And... while Howard was NOT redeemed, it’s nice to know he did love his son. And it’s great that Tony got some closure.
9. Peggy and Steve.
Out of the Big Three’s scenes with their “significant past people”, this one was the least impactful for me, as they didn’t even talk, BUT in retrospect it set the scene for later perfectly.
10. Gamora saves the day!
This is GREAT and showcases her character very well, who she really is despite who Thanos raised her to be.
11. Clint and Natasha
Their friendship was on full display during this film. Their scenes. And how it was all platonic. The entire audience knew, as soon as they landed on Vormir, that one of them wasn’t going to make it.
12. Just, Natasha in general.
She’s really been allowed to SHINE in this film. ScarJo is finally allowed to act! Like, thank god. About time she snapped out of her resting impassive smirkface. I love the humanity we got to see out of Natasha as a result. And her heading the command center for a post-Snap Avengers is very apt for her.
13. THE BIG 3 FIGHT THANOS
There are many, many things to love here. But Thor wielding both weapons was amazing, them teaming up their powers with lightning and Tony’s tech, and STEEB with MJOLNIR allowed him to perform SO many cool tricks. Like playing vibranium squash with the shield. So fluid. That fight scene was something else.
14. THE ENTRANCE OF THE HEROES
Assembling for the final fight. I didn’t like how it turned into a slugfest (again), but that moment of hope when Sam hails Steve... Damn.
15. MY BABY BOY PETER
So proud of him. The way he flips in, and is instantly like Woah this is a Big Fight!! How we focus on him for a large part of the battle. How he’s running through the field with the gauntlet, and people all around him coming to help him.
16. Carol’s entrance.
She singlehandedly destroyed that purple grape’s hopes and shat all over his precious spaceship. That’s our girl!
17. “Hey Peter Parker. Got something for me?”
CAROL. CArol listen. You are his mom now. That’s how it works with that damn kid. That’s how he ended up with a whole fucking team of parents.
It be like that sometimes.
18. The LADIES of MARVEL
THEY ARE AMAZING. I fully expect a gifset when the bluray is out. Every one of them. Also the way they gathered around Peter, so soft yet so badass at the same time!
Also RESCUE. OMG. PEPP. And the battlefield fighting side by side with Tony.
19. The passing on of mantles
Steve to Sam (SO glad he didnt get passed over for bucky), Thor to Valkyrie, and Tony to Pepper. These are their legacies. And they’re very skillfully done.
I forgot to add that Steve’s choice to remain in the past and grow old is an EXTREMELY tasteful move. It completes his character arc, fulfilled his dreams from back during the CA First Avenger, and eases him out of the main picture without giving us more heartbreak. It’s sad, yes, but the kind of sad that is also laced with contentment and happiness. This is what he deserves.
20. Tony’s send-off.
His death. I was glad Pepper was the last one there, to tell him it’s okay, they’ll be fine, he can let go.
AND PETER. Peter was there, trying to talk to him, sobbing and breaking down. This is what I wanted, going in, if Tony were to die. And this is what I got. You just know this is going to haunt him in FFH.
And Tony himself. His immense sacrifice, the moment he knew what he had to do, the moment Strange held up that finger. One way. UGH.
I have to admit I wanted Peter to also be there when they’re playing back Tony’s recording. I like how they otherwise didn’t miss a single member of the IronFam, though, like Rhodey, Happy, Pepper, Morgan, they’re all there. But still, Peter should’ve been.
Also, how could I forget, Harley. He totally had every right to be attending that funeral. And it shows how Tony kept in contact with him.
21. And finally, Tony. RDJ.
Thank you. Beyond all words, Thank you.
This has been one hell of a ride.

             “Mr. Stark!  Mr. Stark!  Over here!”
             “Mr. Stark!  Mr. Stark, what is your reaction to the rumours about Steve Rogers’ new band?”
             “Mr. Stark!  Are the Avengers really never getting back together?”
             “Mr. Stark, are you planning any reunion tours with Bruce Banner and Thor?  Mr. Stark!”
             The aforementioned Mr. Stark sighed, still silently pushing his way through the crowd.  He can hear his personal bodyguard, Happy Hogan, repeatedly tell the reporters, “Mr. Stark has no comment,” as they try to get to the building up ahead.
             For once, would it kill them to just call him Tony?
              Nobody outside his closest friends ever called him anything except Mr. Stark, and it made him feel old.
             “Mr. Stark!  Is it true you’re adopting Peter Parker after the death of his parents?”
             “Mr. Stark!  Mr. Stark! Look at the camera!”
             “Mr. Stark!  Mr. Stark, is it true you’ve broken up with your ex-producer, Pepper Potts?”
             That one made him freeze in his tracks.  The reporter seemed to realize he’d gotten his attention, because he continued, “She seems to be getting rather cozy with her former client, Mr. Aldrich Killian.  They’ve been spotted leaving hotels together.  How do you feel about her moving on so quickly?”
             He turns to the reporter, his entire body tense. “Pepper and I were never together, but she’s not sleeping with Killian if that’s what you’re really after.  He’s married, and she’s seeing someone.”  He regrets the last part of his sentence as soon as it comes out of his mouth, but he continues into the silence (other than the flashing of cameras) anyways.  “You people really need to get a real hobby.  My personal life, Pepper’s personal life, Steve’s personal life, even Killian’s personal life… all our personal lives are not your business.  We perform and we entertain on a stage; what we do with our own time off the stage shouldn’t be for your entertainment too. Just get out of our faces.”
             He whips around quickly, and continues towards the building, ignoring all the questions that suddenly fill the void left by his statement.
             “Mr. Stark!  Are you going to be pressing charges for invasion of privacy?”
             “Do you know who Pepper is seeing?  Is it James Rhodes?”
             “If you and Pepper were never together, who did you write ‘Love Story’ about?  Are you currently seeing someone?”
             He walks faster, maneuvering his way around the throng of reporters and photographers who won’t leave him alone.  It’s none of their damned business who he wrote that song about… but the idea of Pepper and Rhodey being together makes him laugh in his mind, if he’s honest.  Even if Pepper were interested in men – which she isn’t – Rhodey wouldn’t be high on the list anyways.  He and Sam Wilson have been together for a long time and that’s not failing anytime soon.
             “Mr. Stark, are you aware of the rumours going around that Steve Rogers plans to file a copyright lawsuit in order to be able to sing the songs he wrote for The Avengers on his solo tours without having to pay claims?”
             He scoffs to himself, and he’s never been so happy to see the sight of Happy opening a door for him.  That rumour just wasn’t true at all… Steve would never do that to him. No matter what had happened in their past, Steve wouldn’t do something like that without talking to him first. And Steve would know that Tony would never let it get that far; Tony would have no problem with Steve singing their songs in his solo tours, and would agree to anything Steve asked of him in that regard… or in any regard, really.
             Holy fuck, Tony thinks, he still misses him, doesn’t he?
             A wordless exclamation of joy broke Tony from his thoughts, and he snaps back into reality just in time to see Pepper Potts throw her arms around him in a hug.
             He closes his eyes and smiles into her hair, returning the embrace; it had been a while since the friends had seen each other, and there was no person in the world he’d rather be with than Pepper.
             Except, of course…
             “Steve?”  His heart stops as he opens his eyes and sees him past Pepper’s shoulder.
             The blond man gives him a soul-piercing stare with his bright eyes, but it’s coupled with a grin that would melt the ice off the Arctic itself.  “Hey, Tony.”
             Two years.  Two years since he’s seen Steve Rogers.  Two years since their massive fight; what Pepper called the ‘Civil War’ between The Avengers.  Two years since he said those horrible things about Steve’s partner, Bucky.  Two years since Steve warned him to back off and he didn’t listen.  Two years since he decided not to press charges for the broken nose Bucky gave him. Two years since The Avengers stopped recording music together.  Two years since Bruce cried when he told him the news.
             Two years since the worst day of his life.
             He slowly lets go of Pepper, who looks between the two men with a sad smile.  He takes a step towards Steve, tentative and nervous.
             Steve takes a few steps towards Tony, and opens his arms for a hug.
             Tony hesitates for only a fraction of a second before rushing into them.  The feeling is familiar and comforting, and it only makes him want to cry a little bit.
             Oh, who are we kidding?  Tony definitely starts crying.
             Steve chuckles to himself as he runs his hands through the shorter man’s hair, truly not at all worried about the tear stains that will surely be on his shirt in a few moments.
             “Steve…” Tony whimpers, clutching the shirt in his hands.  “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.  I missed you so much, I’m so sorry.”
             “It’s over now, Tony.”  Steve replies simply, and his response is so nonchalant that Tony stops crying for a moment to look up at him in confusion.  “We’ve moved past it.  We’re not mad anymore; we haven’t been for a long time.”
             Tony’s face flushes red.  Here he was, sitting on such massive guilt for two years that it had become a regular routine for Rhodey to stop by his condo on the way home from work in order to take the alcohol out of his firm, semi-conscious grip and half-carry him to his bed from the couch, and sit with him while he cries for an hour about how much he fucked up before he finally passes out and wakes up to a glass of water, two aspirin, and an Alcoholics Anonymous flier from Sam’s work that he tosses into the recycling bin… and Steve and Bucky weren’t even thinking about it?
             Did they even care?  Did they miss him at all?  Why was Steve even here if they didn’t care enough to even be mad?  Was Steve here just to gloat about his new band? Was he here to rub his nose in how much he didn’t need Tony anymore?  What gives him the right to be so calm when Tony had been such a mess for two years?
             All of those thoughts came racing through his head, but what came out was –
“You’re not mad?”
“No, Tony.  We’re not mad.  I’m not mad. Bucky’s not mad.”
“Then why…?”  Why was he here?  Why hadn’t he come back before?  Why now, after all this time?
Two years of being apart hadn’t affected Steve’s ability to read Tony like a book.  “We thought you were still mad.  I didn’t want to hurt you or upset you… but Sam finally tattled on you after what happened this weekend.”
Tony’s grip on Steve’s shirt tightened.  Of course he did.  Of course Sam tattled.  Because of course Pepper had to be his emergency contact when he was admitted into the hospital for alcohol poisoning.  And of course Pepper had to call Rhodey, who brought Sam, and Happy, who brought Peter, and of course Peter and Sam both had to get all emotional about it, and of course Sam had to make him promise to go to an AA meeting, and of course he had to be guilted into it by the look on Peter’s face.
Of course they told Steve.
“Tony…” Steve gently pries Tony’s fingers open, caressing the back of his hands as he holds them against his chest.  “I’m not angry at you.  I’m not going to lecture you.  I’m just concerned about you.”
“Why do you care?”  Tony speaks without thinking, and the hurt that shoots across Steve’s face and the shock in Pepper’s eyes betrays how unusual it is for Tony to snap like this, but he doesn’t care at this moment.  He looks down at his feet to avoid eye contact.  “Why, after two years of ‘radio silence’, of not being here when I needed you, are you concerned about me now?  Why would you just drop off the radar and suddenly come back?  Why do you just suddenly give a shit?”  Before Steve can reply, he continues.  “You know what?  I don’t believe you.  I don’t believe that you just suddenly care again.  You just want to save face for the press.”
“That’s bullshit and you know it, Tony.”  Steve says darkly.  Tony, startled to hear this tone in his voice, looks up.  Steve’s face is a mixture of emotions; anger and betrayal, pity and concern… love, even still, after all this time.  “We never stopped caring about you.  That’s why we – ” He pauses.  “That’s why I didn’t return.  I didn’t want to hurt you.  I wanted to come back as soon as I left.  But if you weren’t ready to accept my – our – apologies, I wasn’t going to force you to.”
“I wanted your apology!”  Tony shouted, shoving away from Steve in anger.  “I wanted it more than anything!  I needed to know that you still cared!  I needed that more than I needed air!  Why do you think I took up drinking again?”
“I didn’t know, Tony.”
“Oh, and Sam hasn’t been tattling on me for two years?  You expect me to believe that?”
“Sam hasn’t said anything until now.”
“I don’t believe you.”
“It’s true.  Sam said that he and Rhodey decided not to get in the middle of this, that they weren’t going to start telling us about each other.  It wouldn’t be fair to their relationship; too many secrets.”
Tony says nothing.  He didn’t want to believe Steve, and yet…
“Think about it, Tony.  Have you heard anything about me or Bucky in the last two years?”
“…no.”
He smiles softly.  “And there’s so many things that you should have heard.”  He holds up his left hand, where a gold band with tiny inset diamonds glitters on his ring fingers.  “Like this, for example.”
Tony’s breath hitches, and tears of joy spring to his eyes.  His hands fly to his mouth.  “Really??”  He whispers.
Steve grins widely.  “Really.”
“Oh, finally, Rogers!”  He throws his arms around Steve again, laughing.  “I’m so happy for you two!”
“Thanks, Tony.  We’re so excited about it.”
“So…”  He looks into Steve’s eyes again, smirking.  “When is the wedding?”
Steve chuckles lightly.  “Actually, we haven’t started planning yet.”
“What?”  Tony looks scandalized.  “Why not?”
“Because I hadn’t talked to my best man in two years, and he wouldn’t be there to sing the song he wrote for us.”
Tony’s eyes start filling with tears again.  He’d never actually admit out loud that he wrote ‘Love Story’ for Steve and Bucky, but Steve must have figured it out, just as he figures everything else out.  “Oh, Steve…”
“So, what do you say, Tony?  Will you be my best man?”
“Of course I will.  Of course I will!”  Tony claps his hands.  “Oh, Steve, I have so many ideas!  Can I help you plan?  Please?”
Steve laughs, throwing his head back.  “Tony, I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Tony claps his hands again, then he suddenly stops, remembering something from his earlier adventure with the reporters.  “Does this mean you’re not suing me for rights to sing your songs solo or with your new band on your tours?”
“New band?”  Steve’s brows furrow.  “I don’t have a new band.”
“Oh.  I just heard you, uh, had a new band…”  Tony feels sheepish; he knows how bad the media can be for rumours, he should have known better.
“I never said I had a new band.  But I did want to talk to you…” Steve takes a deep breath.  “I wouldn’t mind bringing The Avengers back together.  If you’re okay with that.”
Tony’s heart has stopped beating.  “Are you serious?”
“I do want more members.”  Steve says quickly.  “I want to open it up, I think just the four of us again would be lonely.  And it would be nice to have more talent.  A bigger spectrum.”
“Do you have anyone in mind?”
“Sam and Rhodey…”  He says softly.  “And Wanda, and she wants to talk to her brother too.  Maybe Peter, when he’s old enough.  And Sam met this guy named Scott, apparently he’s a really good drummer…”
Steve continues talking, but Tony zones out.  He can’t believe this is happening; if you told him this morning, in all his hangover glory, that he would be standing here in the lobby of Shield Records, talking to Steve Rogers about getting The Avengers back together… He wouldn’t have believed you.
But here he was.  Here they were.  And they were together.  And they could face whatever came their way together.
Then again, everybody is scared of Pepper, so he may be on his own when she finds out he told the press she was seeing someone…

Take Me By Surprise
a short Stony/Avengers 2012 fanfic by @unsure-avenger
WARNING: Includes soft Avenger family moments because frankly, we’ve been deprived. Rated PG for vulgar language, but mostly just pure love and friendships.
Tumblr media
“Okay, wait no! Hawkeye counts as two players! You can’t have him and Thor!” Natasha protested. “And Bruce is practically useless at shooting games—”
“Hey!” Bruce complained, his features rearranging themselves into a hurt expression.
Natasha sent him a pointed look.
“Yeah, okay,” Bruce admitted.
Tony rolled his eyes. “Okay, we’re clearly not capable of dealing with this like mature adults. So, how’re we going to organise the laser tag teams?”
“We can draw straws!” Steve shouted. He flushed a dark red when his teammates leave doff their seats at his outburst. “Sorry, I think I’m getting a little too excited.”
Tony clenched a fist under the table to control himself.
Steve’s incessant blushing was the tip of the iceberg of the things he did that made Tony want to leap off his chair and do unspeakable things to him.
“Alright, I believe we should go with the honourable captain’s plan!” Thor boomed, slamming his fist on the booth that left a crack in the plastic.
Natasha grabbed a handful of six straws from the bar, and proceeded to cut three of them short with a dagger hidden neatly in the side of her combat boot.
Tony stared at her. “You had that there the whole time?”
She pointedly ignored him and started shuffling around the straws.
“Am I the only person here who’s slightly concerned?” Tony demanded.
Natasha rolled her eyes. “It’s a security precaution.” She held out the array of straw from one side. “Choose, Stark.”
Tony eyed them carefully, and made a mental prayer that Clint would be on his team.
Eventually, when all the straws were chosen, the Avengers has been split into two teams; Tony, Clint, and Bruce on one, and the others on the next.
“We’re going to win,” Tony declared. “Want to save some time and just announce it?”
Steve snorted. “In your dreams, Tony.”
“Enough of the trash talk,” Bruce interjected. “Seriously, guys. It’s embarrassing.”
“Yes, let’s get real,” Clint agreed. “What are we playing for? The Avengers Tower? Stark’s Ferrari?”
Tony wheeled round on Clint with a glare. “Why is it all my stuff?”
“Pride,” Steve said firmly. “Gloating rights.”
Natasha laughed and patted him on the back. “Okay, Steve. You can do that. I’d like a more material prize, please?”
“Movie night rights for the next month,” Bruce offered.
Tony clenched his fist so tight his knuckles went white.
Ever since they’d moved into the tower, movie night had become a weekly tradition. For at least one night, they’d gather in the living room, and according to the rotor (organised by Pepper), and watch a movie chosen by someone.
Since all his friends had disastrous tastes in cinema...
“Team huddle!” Clint yelled, and Tony shuffled over to join him and Bruce by the bar.
“This is serious, guys,” Tony said urgently. “If I have to watch another 40s show with no colour and plots that can only be labelled ‘what were they thinking?’, I think I might actually die.”
Bruce nodded vigorously. “Okay, so what’s the plan?”
“I was thinking you could Hulk out,” Clint suggested. “Smash their laser guns so we can’t lose any points.”
Tony’s eyebrows shot skyward as he held up a hand. “What the actual fuck, Clint?”
Bruce tapped his chin thoughtfully. “I’m considering it.”
Tony smacked Clint round the head. “Absolutely not. I was thinking more team strategies? Who takes which flank?”
Clint snorted. “Stark, you’ve clearly never been on a team with S.H.I.E.L.D. spies. Natasha’s going to be playing the dirtiest you’ll have ever seen. They’ll be using ever play in the black book.”
Bruce slammed his hands on the table. “Okay, you have got to stop making up sayings, Clint.”
“What I mean,” Clint said disappointedly. “Is that we have to be prepared to play dirty too. Any ideas, Stark?”
***
Next scene, Tony was in the arena, with red lights flashing madly in the darkness.
He squinted to see Clint swinging into one of the air conditioning vents and a soft tapping as he crawled along to the blue team’s — Natasha’s team’s — base.
Tony had his laser gun strapped to his back, and his gaze darted left and right, searching for the control panels.
Since he wasn’t that great with a gun, Tony’s job was to find the control panels, and figure out a way to change the points so that their team was far, far in the lead.
Bruce was in charge of protecting the red base — if their base was shot, the blue team instantly won twenty points — which was terrible because he had worse aim than Tony and zero battle tactics.
Clint was their offensive, and would take the others by surprise at the blue base — which was probably being protected by Steve, since he was their most defensive player.
“Don’t you think we’re taking this a bit seriously?” Tony had asked Clint, who was the most serious he’d ever seen him. “I mean, it’s a laser tag game. We’re acting like the Nazis are launching another invasion.”
Clint had simply stared at him. “Tony, do you not remember Cap’s last movie?”
After that horrific reminder, Tony was ready to charge into the game with his wits on and his mind ready.
“Game starting,” a robotic voice projected. “I’m 3, 2, 1...Go!”
As soon as the countdown finished, music started blasting out the speakers, which only increased the adrenaline flowing through Tony’s veins.
He ducked low and started forward, keeping an eye out for any blinking lights. Nothing so far.
Then, from afar, he heard a high shriek that he recognised as Bruce’s, and figured that Natasha must’ve found their base.
The sound of laser fire resonated nearby, and Tony slammed his back against an obstacle, making sure no one was around him.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the familiar blue lights of an electric circuit.
The control panel.
Tony pulled Clint’s penknife out of his pocket — the number of blades his friends kept were quite disturbing — and started unscrewing the corners of the board.
As he threw the board to the floor with a clatter, Tony leaned down to observe the controls. There was a small screen, about the size of his palm that displayed the scores of both teams, accuracies, and the number of hits on each player and base.
His fingers ran over the buttons, familiarity washing over him.
However, his luck had run out. The circuit board began to spark, and Tony leaped back just split seconds before the control panel exploded into dark smoke and sparks.
Tony coughed and waved the smoke away from his face. The control panel was completely fried by a surge of electricity — probably from Thor.
Natasha must’ve anticipated their moves and found a wire that connected to the panel.
Tony cursed under his breath, a new plan to signal Clint starting to formulate in his brain.
Someone shoved him against the wall, knocking the breath out of him and making his heart jump out of his chest.
Before Tony could fully comprehend what was happening, lips were pressed against his, hot and heavy, strong arms holding him up as he was slammed against the side of the arena.
“Oh god,” he whimpered.
The kisses ran from his lips to the side of his jaw, pressing and sucking ensuing. Tony let out an uncontrolled moan and reached out to tug his lover’s hair.
His fingers entangled in rough, short hair, tugging as Tony felt himself descend into a bliss-filled heaven.
“Natasha told me to distract you,” Steve said breathlessly.
Tony panted as he stared into the blue eyes of none other than the super soldier. Had he known that Steve kissed so well...
Let’s just say he would’ve made a move a long time ago.
“But I didn’t really decide to...” Steve trailed of frustratedly. “God, Tony, you just make me feel these-these things. And you never say anything — and I was sick and tired of waiting—”
Tony smashed his lips against Steve’s again so they were stuck in a love-locked embrace. He’d never made out with someone strong enough to hold him up against a wall before.
Tony liked it.
“Wait, wait,” Steve stammered, trying to catch his breath. Tony impatiently made a whining sound.
“I’m supposed to stop you from getting to the control panel,” Steve said, sort of half-dazed, half-bewildered.
Tony ground his hips against Steve’s, and the other man’s control seemed to slip for a split second where a groan escaped his lips.
“So stop me,” he breathed.
And Steve did.
***
“This is unbelievable! We’re off fighting for our team, and you’re off-off—” Natasha spluttered, at a loss for words.
“Fucking,” Tony offered.
He had never seen Steve blush so furiously in the months he’d known him.
Steve stammered, “We didn’t-we were just—”
“Fucking,” Clint finished.
They were seated around the table outside the laser tag arena while Natasha paced around and reprimanded Steve and Tony like kids in detention.
“No!” Steve protested. “Not in a public place!”
“Yet,” Tony murmured to himself.
Thor stared at Steve’s red cheeks, Tony’s dishevelled hair and marks down the side of his neck. “Most definitely not.”
“We just kissed,” Steve promised them.
Tony grinned. “That would be putting it lightly.”
“You’re not helping,” Steve murmured under his breath. “Natasha’s going to kill me.”
Tony stood up off his chair and spread his hands. “I don’t see what the issue is. Okay, so Thor discovers Steve and I bumping uglies in a dark corner — what’s the big deal?”
“Firstly,” Natasha answered firmly. “Never say ‘bumping uglies’. Ever.”
“Secondly, you’ve traumatised Bruce.” She pointed at their friend who was sitting stiffly by a table.
Tony gave him an apologetic look. “Sorry, Banner.”
There hadn’t been many boundaries between him and Steve by the time Bruce discovered them.
“Secondly, this is a team,” Natasha told him seriously. “If you two are just banging against every wall for no apparent reason—”
“There is,” Steve interrupted loudly. “A reason, I mean,” he said in a lower tone. “I’m not—I don’t do this with just anyone, I swear.”
Natasha’s gaze slid to Tony, and she cocked her head.
“I don’t do that anymore, Romanoff. You know I don’t.”
Natasha eyed him warily. “I know. But you’re the team leaders, if anything—”
“If anything happens,” Steve insisted. “We’ll still work together fine on the field. Even when we didn’t get along, we had a good dynamic. This won’t get in the way of that.”
Natasha sat down with a sigh. “Okay, good. This team is...I don’t want anything to ruin it.”
“Nothing will,” Tony promised. He made a mental note to hug Natasha more. Even if she might stab him, she needed some affection — he frequently forgot that she was brought up an assassin against her will.
“Shawarma.”
The others turned to Bruce, who still looked slightly ill.
“I feel like shawarma,” he repeated hoarsely, blushing when he caught Tony’s eye.
Tony chuckled and pulled him up from his chair. “Okay, Bruce. Shawarma it is.”

MASTERLIST
Chapter Fifteen - Free As A Bird
Bucky woke up groggily, unsure of what was going on. It came back to him in flashes, her fighting him, driving a knife into his shoulder, his hand around her throat and then… His lips pressed against hers, her warm soft body pushed against him. She had drugged him. He had kissed her and she had drugged him.
So she could go after Docherty alone.
He frantically pulled himself to his feet and strode down into the basement. The prisoner was still there, still alive. Why hadn’t she taken him or at least killed him? He ripped the mans gag off and snarled at him.
“Where is she?”
“Where is who Soldat?”
“If you know who I am then you know what I am capable of. You know you will tell me what I need to know.” Bucky said, feeling his expression go cold and blank.
“I can not tell you what I don’t know. Docherty was very careful not to tell anyone exactly where he was.”
“Tell me what you told her.” Bucky demanded flatly.
“I told her what I was instructed to tell her should she ever ask. He knows her well, better than you ever could. He knew she would not risk bringing any of you to him.”
“Tell. Me. What. You. Told. Her.”
“She will find Docherty where he found her.”
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
As soon as Steve answered the phone Bucky spoke.
“She’s gone Steve, she got the drop on me, knocked me out and went after Docherty alone.”
“Shit.”
Steve put the phone on loudspeaker with an apologetic look at Tony.
“Where is she going?” Steve asked.
“I don’t know.”
“Wait where is who going?” Tony asked with an expression that said he clearly knew exactly what they were talking about but was desperately hoping he was wrong.
“She spoke to the prisoner alone, can’t have been for more than a few minutes but it was enough for her to find out where Docherty was. I tried to stop her leaving but she drugged me, when I woke up she was gone.” Bucky admitted.
“What prisoner?” Sam demanded.
“Forgot to mention that part, sorry.” Natasha said.
“Not important. Did he tell you where she’s heading?” Tony demanded frantically.
“No, he...”
“Then make him tell you Barnes, all those years as a Hydra assassin should count for something.” Tony snapped.
“He doesn’t know where she is. He told her she would find Docherty where Docherty found her.”
“What? He didn’t find her, he made her.” Sam remarked quizzicaly.
“When she escaped the first time, he found her. That’s where he is.” Tony said and shot to his feet.
“What?”
“Beg your pardon?”
“The first time?”
“I’m afraid I do not understand.”
“It’s a long, frankly tragic story. Friday do a search for all the churches in a four hundred mile radius of the facility we found her. Look for fires in the church, 12 years ago.” Tony instructed.
“She has a head start on us but she doesn’t know exactly where she’s going, just the general direction.” Tony informed them.
“There’s something else, something the prisoner said to taunt me.” Bucky interjected.
“I know why Docherty went to Hydra, if not why they agreed. He wants to put her in the chair. If they wipe her memories, she’ll be gone. And Vernichtung will be all that’s left.”
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
You trecked through the woods as quickly as you were able, which wasn’t that quickly seeing as you didn’t know exactly where you were going. It was somewhere in this vicinity, you were sure of that. You had to get to the Church, to Docherty before anyone discovered where you were.
They didn’t know Docherty the way you did. Reading reports on him couldn’t make them see the true depths of his depravity and if you could help it, they would never find out just how monstrous he really was.
Going after him alone was a risk and one that could backfire but it was necessary. You couldn’t take them with you into this fight, Bucky especially. Not when Hydra was also involved, not after that kiss. Your fingertips brushed your lips as you remembered it.
It had been your first kiss but you knew deep in your soul that a kiss wasn’t always so passionate, that it had been special. There was always anger and hatred between the two of you, even when he pressed his lips to yours but what you hadn’t ever realised was there was desire running just under the surface of that hatred, fuelling it.
Now you would be lucky if there was even space in Bucky’s heart to hate you. When you had taken that syringe you hadn’t wanted to use it. When you were fighting you had held back, hoping he would let you go or you could break free but then you knew it was your last resort. It had been one of the hardest things you had ever done, jabbing the needle into his thigh. He would never forgive you and you didn’t blame him, but at least he was safe and you were free to do what needed to be done.
The tree’s around you grew more and more familiar and you stopped, looking around. This place was burned into your memory, even the smell of the woods was triggering. It had been over a decade but the things that had happened in these woods had left a mark on your soul. You turned and walked in the right direction as your mind wandered back to the journey that had led you here.
The buzzing from the electricity running through the bars of your cell had been your companion in this lonely room for as long as you could remember so the absence of the sound was immediately noticeable.  Your ears prickled as you listened intently for the curiously missing noise. The guards in the corridors were talking about something called ‘The Big Game’ and seemed unaware something was wrong.
Carefully so as not to alert the camera’s you stretched your leg out and hesitantly let your toe brush against to bars. Nothing. Adrenaline flooded through you. No electricity meant you could possibly try and break the door and make an escape. But you would have to be fast. If you were fast you could make it out before the guards had time to gather and stop you.
You counted to three under your breath and leapt into action. You grabbed the bars on the door and pulled with every ounce of strength you possessed. You felt like you were going to tear your arms from your sockets but you didn’t relent and your efforts paid off when the door gave way. You didn’t waste a second and ran, and kept running. You made your way through the facility without any hindrance until the main door.
There were six people there, all armed. They fired on sight, aiming for your limbs to incapacitate you but freedom was so close and you couldn’t stop now. You ignored the sharp sting of the bullets and ran, not for the door but the window. You didn’t slow down as you hurtled towards it and you ran through it with an almighty crash, landing on the broken glass outside.
There was air here, cool air. It was fresh and moving and blissful. A bubble of disbelieving laughter broke from your lips as a deafening klaxon sounded. You kept moving, heading for the trees. You didn’t take the time to marvel at them and pushed yourself forwards, away from that hell.
You ran, and ran, and ran. You pushed yourself harder than you thought possible, until the sounds of the pursuing guards was too far behind you to hear and then you kept running. You ran all through the day and through the night, even as you were awed by the sight of the moon that for the first time wasn’t hindered by a dirty pane of glass. It was well into the next day, when you had been slowed to a crawl that you finally stopped. Well, you collapsed.
You lay on the floor of the forest surrounding you, broken, bleeding, shot and exhausted but you had never been happier. You were free.

Friday had located the church and they all piled onto the jet. As soon as they were in the air Steve turned to Tony.
“Why didn’t you tell us she’d escaped once before?” Steve asked him.
“It wasn’t pertinent information.”
“It’s pertinent now, what else is in her files that you ‘redacted’?” Steve pressed.
“Do I know your whole life story? Or Nat’s? Hell for years we didn’t know Barton had a secret family and a farm.”
“That’s the point of a ‘secret’ family Stark, nobody was supposed to know.” Clint pointed out.
“Her whole life is documented in those files. I figured she deserved some privacy. If she wanted anyone to know then it should have been her choice.” Tony said.
“I believe it was a noble idea, however Miss Stark is not a normal young woman.” Vision said diplomatically.
“She deserves the chance to try and be one though Vis.” Wanda argued.
“Yes, exactly, thank you.” Tony said.
“Nobody is arguing that she doesn’t deserve privacy or normalcy, we’re asking if there’s anything else you haven’t told us that might be important.” Steve cut in.
“Captain, I have the UN on the line. You might want to take this.” Friday informed them.
Steve took the call with a stony expression. He hung up after a few short minutes.
“Hydra agents just took over a small town in Canada. They’re holding the townspeople hostage but haven’t made any demands.” He said.
“They are trying to divide and conquer us, split our focus.” Thor summarised.
“I’m going to get my kid.” Tony said without hesitation.
“Tony, maybe you shouldn’t. They’ll be expecting you to go to her.” Steve pointed out.
Tony rounded on him with a furious expression.
“Capsicle if you think I’m going to abandon her...”
“Of course not, but think about it logically. They’ll know we have to split up. Docherty will be expecting you to go to him, he won’t expect you to go to Canada.” Natasha reasoned.
“Good, because I’m not going to Canada. I’m going to go and annihilate him for everything he did to her. Besides, you’ll need the jet now. I can fly from here.”
“As can I my friend, allow me to go in your stead. You have my word I will keep your kin safe and deliver the villain to you so you may extract your revenge.” Thor offered.
“They won’t be expecting Thor, and Bucky is already en route. He’s not that far behind her.” Steve tried to convince Tony.
Tony had never had to make such a difficult decision.
“If Docherty is expecting you then he must be prepared for you. Perhaps your daughters best chance to win this fight isn’t with you by her side.” Vision reasoned.
Tony had an ego, that was common knowledge. What the team understood though, was that Tony would easily set it aside for someone he cared about.
“Fine, Thunderbuddy go get my kid. And tell her she’s grounded.” He conceded.

The Church was close by, you could feel it. You slowed down as you drew nearer, you knew there would be some kind of trap and you couldn’t go rushing into it. You looked around carefully and despite all the pain that lay here for you, in the past and in the future you smiled. There was a bird in the tree above you and you watched as it spread it’s wings and flew away. Free.
“Eat your oatmeal child.” Sister Berta scolded you.
You ducked your head and did as she asked. The nuns had found you in the woods three months ago, bleeding out and carried you back to the small church deep in the heart of the forest. You had been frantic when you awoke, terrified you had been found but they had been calm and kind. They told you to leave if you wanted but urged you to stay until you were better.
You didn’t speak to them, you didn’t know what to say. They didn’t seem to mind, just went about their business and occasionally checked on you. You would pounce from rafter to rafter on the ceiling and watch as they knelt at the large wooden cross and talked to the man on it. They said it was called praying, that he was their lord and saviour. They asked you to join them sometimes and you did, even if you didn’t understand. They gave you The Bible and you dutifully read through it, not sure what it all meant.
They were nothing like the people where you had come from, they didn’t want to hurt you or make you hurt anyone else. They seemed perfectly content to let you be, sometimes looking at you in wonder when you leapt a tall tree or carried something heavy for them. You tried to repay their kindness as best you could, taking over as many chores as you were able.
There was one man there, only a few years older than you. He stayed out of your way most of the time, only smiling when he saw you and ‘blessing you’ whenever he could with an amused grin. He always wore a white collar and all the sisters called him Father, even the ones older than him. You didn’t think it so strange, you figured it was what normal must be like.
It was after you ate your oatmeal like Sister Berta had told you that you went outside into the woods, still marvelling that you could do that. A rustling in the brush caught your attention and you carefully crept over to it. There was a bird, tangled up in a vine. You felt The Father watching you from a distance as you carefully reached for it. He was harmless and you let him observe as you made soothing shushing noises to the frantic creature, untangling it from the vine. As soon as it was free it spread it’s wings and shook them, flying away.
You watched it go with a sense of pride, and hopefulness. A few seconds later you learned that freedom was just an illusion. A high pitched ringing noise assaulted your senses and you fell to you knees with a cry. When it finally eased you were surrounded.
Guards all around you were aiming their guns at you. And the sisters. They were standing there, cold impassioned looks on their faces, their own weapons aimed at you.
“Bring her to him.” The Father demanded.
When they grabbed you and dragged you to your feet you didn’t fight back. There was no point.
 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The church, once a shining beacon of hope and freedom loomed before you now, a temple of despair. Had Tony found you before you had been to this place perhaps you would have trusted him sooner, instead of being so skittish and making it difficult for him. But that was what Docherty did, he took anything good in the world and broke it. People were playthings to him and humanity meant nothing if they weren’t suffering.
They threw you to the ground behind him, your tormentor, your keeper, your master. He gazed out at the scenic views of the woods with a serene expression.
“I have missed you Vernichtung, the facility has been empty without your screams.”
“Why did you do this?” You whispered brokenly.
“To teach you. Hope is not real, it is only a weapon you can use to destroy someone.”
“Why do you want to break me? Why are you doing this?”
“Because humanity is the greatest mistake ever made. People are vile creatures, a blight upon the earth. The only thing they can do without messing it up is hurt each other. Hurting them is my only goal and you are the weapon I choose. I could use a virus or a plague but that would be easy and not very poetic. You are a fitting choice, a monster with a human face. Just like they are. Only you are so much more destructive.”
“I won’t do it. You can’t make me.”
“Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow. But I will hurt you in worse ways than this Vernichtung. There is much pain in your future and you will break eventually. Between you and me though, I hope you last a while. I have so many ideas for how to make you suffer.”
And make you suffer he did, and until Tony you never dared to have hope again.
And now the time had come for you to make him suffer, to make him pay. The area was suspiciously devoid of life, silent as a tomb but he had to be here. He had to be.
“Perimeters clear.” Bucky called to you and you whirled around, pulling one of the guns you had taken from the safehouse from it’s holster.
He was standing quite a distance away from you and your breath caught in your chest at the sight of him.
“Seeing as you didn’t even bother to check.” He added as he strode towards you,
His face was devoid of any kind of emotion as he glanced around, his stance alert and prepared.
“Why, How are you here?” You demanded.
“Well after I woke up I phoned Tony. He figured out where you were.”
“Please tell me Tony isn’t here.” You begged.
“Tony isn’t here.”
“Bucky, I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.”
“I don’t care.”
There was a thud behind you and you turned, gun raised to see Thor.
“The temple and surrounding area appears to be empty.” He told Bucky.
“I am to inform you that you are grounded.” He said turning to you.
You sighed. This wasn’t going well at all.
“So he isn’t here?” Bucky asked.
“Someone is here.” You said.
You could hear them shuffling behind the alter in the Church. Carefully you crept over, rounding the pew with your gun aimed carefully and you frowned. There was a woman curled up on the floor, her head pressed to her knees. She was shaking.
“Who are you?” You asked harshly.
Her head jerked up at the sound of your voice and you gasped. Her eyes were running with blood, her face gaunt and sickly. She looked familiar, eerily so. Her eyes frantically darted around, blood streaming from them.
“He said she’d be here.” She rasped out, her voice sounding wet and you quickly garnered why as she coughed, blood spraying from her lips.
“He said who would be here?” You demanded.
“You need to leave, now.” Bucky said from behind you.
“She can’t, look at her. She’s dying.” You pointed out.
“No. YOU need to leave. I’m sorry but you do.” He said.
“No, it is best she stays for this.” Thor argued softly and you chanced a look behind you to them.
They both looked wrecked as they looked at the woman. Thor tried to approach her but she freaked, shuffling backwards.
“Do you know her?” You asked them.
“Look at her, little one. Really look at her.” Thor urged you.
You did. She was terrified so you took a risk and holstered the gun. You put your hands up and crouched down, slowly inching towards her.
“She’s supposed to be here, he said she was here” The woman frantically muttered.
“Who’s supposed to be here?” you pressed.
Her blood rimmed eyes shot towards yours and it finally clicked. Why she looked so familiar. Her face was the same one you saw in the mirror every day, only older.
“You’re supposed to be dead.” You breathed out in shock.
“He took my baby but he said I’d find her here.!”
“Oh my God. But you’re dead!”
Your mother wasn’t dead, she was in front of you, dying now. You fell forwards, grabbing her. The blood was running from her nose and eyes and you could hear it gathering in her lungs. She had been poisoned and you knew that if there was a cure you would never find it in time but logic had flown out the window the second you realised who she was.
“Help her.” You shakily begged the two men behind you.
Bucky was on his phone, shouting at someone and Thor was looking down at you sadly.
“Your eyes..” She whispered as the last of her strength left her and she fell forward against you.
You gathered her in your arms as you tried to think of something, anything that could save her.
“You have my eyes.” She muttered as her own began to flutter shut.
“No, no stay awake. Mom, it’s me I’m here. I’m here ok. It’s me. Stay. Please. Stay.”
“Please find my baby.” She asked weakly.
“Your name. What’s your name?” You asked desperately.
“Subject 74 – B/F.” She whispered.
And then she was gone. You heard the absence of her heartbeat as the life left her eyes and a cold numbness spread through you as you held your mother in your arms.
Docherty had lied in her records, he had kept her alive all these years so he could kill her now in the cruelest way possible. The message was clear, he still had ways to make you suffer.
You felt cool metal brush against your back and looked up at Bucky.
"She was my mother."
"I know."
"She's dead."
He sunk to his knees and tenderly brushed a tear from your face. You hadn't noticed you were crying.
"I'm so sorry." He said softly.
A sob ripped itself from your chest and you tried to contain it but it was too late. You broke apart as Bucky's arms circled around you.
And so in that little church that had once meant hope and now meant death you wept as Bucky held you.

I really hope you are still enjoying this, if not you can tell me. I’m thick skinned, I’ll understand.

“What are you reading?”
“Um-“ you glance up, forgetting where you are for a moment. SHIELD. Underground cell. Right. “Say again?”
There is a long suffering sigh from the man behind the glass. “I said, what are you reading?”
“Oh. One of my old textbooks I found in the back of my closet.” You run a hand over the page you were just leaning over. “I hated this professor so much,” you say grumpily, but there’s still a small smile on your face as you say it. “He was an absolute git.”
“Fascinating.” The derision dripping from that one word could fill Olympic-sized swimming pools.
“Do you like to read?” You offer offhandedly, trying to get him to talk about something. Anything. Two weeks of sitting in stony silence has worn on your nerves. Hence, why you brought a book to keep you company this time.
“Yes.” His fingers fidget with each other as if searching for pages to turn. “There is a library on Asgard that contains more volumes than your puny mind could comprehend.”
You ignore the jibe. You’ve practically become immune to them by now. “What’s it like? The library, I mean.”
“You wish for me to describe it to you?”
“Well, only if you want.”
“It has been weeks,” he growls. “Should you not be asking more important questions?”
“What would you rather me ask?”
“I invaded Earth with legions of soldiers intent on crushing humanity beneath my fist.” You resist the urge to roll your eyes. He does tend to be dramatic. “And you’re asking about libraries.”
You shrug. “The library sounds more interesting.”
Something shifts in his eyes, something you can’t identify, and he leans forward slightly towards you. “I could tell you things you have never even dreamed of,” he purrs. “Knowledge no mortal has ever been graced with.”
Well that’s a drastically different tone of voice. You close your book, marking your spot with your finger. “Like what?”
“The libraries of Asgard contain the very secrets of the universe. All of it would be at your beck and call.”
“You’re gonna have to be more specific. Puny mortal mind, remember?”
“Have you ever wanted to see the future?” The god’s eyes are glowing faintly. “Discover how you die? Better yet, cheat death entirely, and learn to live forever? Or perhaps you are more interested in people bending to your every whim with a flick of your wrist. For them to lie down their backs for you to step on, rising to your rightful place. You could have everything you have ever wanted. Money. Fame. Power. Knowledge.” His voice is sinfully silky, washing over you in subtle, undulating waves like the seaside kissing the shore on a warm summer’s day. “And of course, you’d have me by your side. You will be crowned my queen, respected and feared throughout the nine realms and beyond. Plus, my eternal… adoration.” His voice drops into the realm of something obscene with that last comment. You can only imagine what that ‘adoration’ would entail.
You sit back in your chair, considering his words as you tilt your head a bit, taking in the god. “I think I’m gonna call you Trickster.”
Instantly, the suave illusion is broken, leaving behind a man with fury in his eyes. “What?”
“My boss said I couldn’t call you Your Highness,” you explain. “And I’m fairly sure you just tried to convince me to let you out of your cell in exchange for eternal power, or something. Tricky. Hence, Trickster.” You want to replace convince with seduce, because it seems more accurate, but there’s no way you’re going to say that out loud.
He growls at you. “Don’t flatter yourself. The second these ridiculous manacles were off I’d dispose of you in an instant.”
“I figured.” You flip open your book again. “But that was the most entertainment I’ve had in weeks, so feel free to continue if you’d like.”
A bang against the glass makes you look up. The god has risen from his spot on the floor, fist against the barrier in front of him. “Are you not frightened?’ He snarls. “I could snap your neck from where I stand.”
You have to fight a little to keep your breathing steady. Having a ridiculously powerful immortal being threaten you to your face is bound to pluck anyone’s nerves. “SHIELD has assured me you’re very well contained. And that those magic-suppressing handcuffs have done their job more than once.” You gesture to the metal binding his wrists. “So I think I’m okay for now.” Still, if looks could kill, you have no doubt you’d be barbecued to a crisp right about now. Eventually, he seems to get ahold of himself, and sits back down with the poise and grace you definitely wouldn’t expect from someone who’s been imprisoned for almost a month.
“You’re staring.”
Shit. You tear your gaze away. “I’m not.”
“Oh, but you are.” Even though your eyes are trained on your book, you can hear the smirk in his words. “Has my offer interested you after all?”
“Hardly. Then I’d have all of SHIELD on my back, and I don’t care what universe you’d hide me in, they’d find a way to get the Black Widow to poison my tea one way or another.”
“Then why so intrigued, little one?” When Thor said it, it was a fond gesture, almost like calling you a little sister. In the Trickster’s tone of voice, it is most definitely an insult.
You huff. “I think if all the stories you once considered pure fiction were suddenly proven true, you’d be a little curious too.”
“Ah.” The god settles back against the concrete wall behind him like he’s lounging on a chaise. “Then I take it you have heard of me?”
“After that shit you pulled in Manhattan? I guarantee you, everyone’s heard of you.”
He dismisses your retort with a wave of his hand. “I mean prior to our arrival on Earth.”
You let out a breath. “Well. Yes. I studied mythology in college. Have a couple degrees on the subject. So I was aware of you, as much as I was aware of any of the other gods and goddesses from Greek, Roman, and Germanic history.”
“I see.” The statement has a droll tone to it, but underneath you can hear a genuine curiosity. Interesting. “Is this why you fell in with this lot?” He gestures around him in what you assume to meting SHIELD.
“Yup. They wanted some archivers with knowledge in ancient cultures and religions. So here I am.” You stop cold for a moment, then look at him suspiciously. “Why the sudden interest? I already told you, I’m not gonna be coerced into doing anything for you.”
He shrugs a shoulder nonchalantly. “I am rather bored, and while you are not particularly fascinating, it seems you will be the only respite I get in my torment.”
“Wow, thanks. You sure know how to woo a girl.”
You’re surprised with a small piece of laughter from the opposite end of the room. “Indeed, I have been told many times. Though it seems Midgardians are woven from a different cloth.”
“I’ll take that as a compliment.”
“Do.” Your heart stutters again. He sounds sincere, but he’s the God of Lies for Christ’s sake. He’s probably just switching tactics since his earlier plan didn’t win you over.
You’re relieved when you glance at your watch. “Time’s up for today, Trickster. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“I look forward to it.”
You roll your eyes on the way out the door. “Flattery will get you nowhere, Trickster.”

Welp, now there’s a part 3. I lied.
~~~
Finding Strength
(stony, a/b/o dynamics, omega!Tony/alpha!Steve, Finding Pack spin-off)
Part 2
It had been a trap.
Something screamed inside of Steve the moment they had arrived at the spot where the traumatized omega had claimed the attack had occurred to her pack. There had been no signs of a fight, but the soil and the grass had been disturbed. Not from raiders attacking an unsuspecting traveling pack, but from constant use of the road. Nothing of what the omega had expressed.
Everyone had their guard up the moment they realized it, too. When nothing happened as they searched the area their caution quickly morphed into confusion and then to worry.
This hadn’t made any sense.
“Where are the survivors?” Rhodey voiced their thoughts.
“Not even a single body,” Natasha pointed out, looking under a fallen log.
Sam appeared by Steve’s side. “Are you sure we’re in the right area?”
“She said around here. If their injuries are as severe as she explained they couldn’t have gotten far. Search where you can.” Steve scouted the area even further. Down the road and into the trees. Where could they be?
“I find no evidence of an attack, Captain,” Loki’s eyes were narrowed at a particular tree. “No disturbed soil, broken evergreens, no drops of blood, or any damage to the extent the omegan described. This area has not seen battle.”
Panic began to rise. “That can’t be right.”
“Trust me, Captain. I have grown surrounded in war and you have partaken in many battles. We are fully aware of the consequences on the terrain. This is not it. This land is untouched.”
Thor’s large presence made itself known. “Aye, Captain. I agree with Loki. This area has not seen dangers and nowhere does it scream for aid. Why would the omegan lead us astray? If not for worry of her pride, then for what purpose?”
“I have a bad feeling about all this,” Clint said as he nocked an arrow.
“This has been a ploy,” Loki said gravely, giving them no possibility to mistake it, “and I fear we have fallen for it.”
Oh, gods. “We need to go back. Now!” Steve sprinted back down the road, not bothering to check if the others were following his speed. No, he didn’t have to when he heard their footsteps loud and clear. They were as desperate to reach their den as he was.
Thoughts of the others, thoughts of his mate, filled his head. The worry screamed in him. The panic and desperation. He begged with all his might for this to have been a miscommunication. That the omega victim in their home had given them wrong information in her panic. That her pack had been attacked further away from where she believed when she ran for her life. That Steve and the others had all coincidentally heard the information wrong, and this wasn’t a ploy from the omega to split up his pack.
To split a pack meant to weaken the pack, and there wasn’t a lot of good reasons for splitting a pack.
To weaken a pack meant an attack was imminent.
Steve’s group hadn’t been struck while exploring the area of the supposed raid nor seen a single hair of the raiders, which meant the attack hadn’t been made yet, or the others that remained home were already fighting for their lives.
Which meant, as he and the others were running back home, Tony could be fighting for his life on that very second. Possibly unprepared and unarmed, for when would the Avengers ever expect an attack in their den?
As the mansion came within sight, their fears and Steve’s worst nightmare had come true. Outside of their home, on the very ground they had trained on and chased during their moon runs, their packmates who had remained behind were being surrounded by enemies.
Steve’s heart stopped when he saw Hank pinned on the ground and Pepper kept immobilized by the enemy. Happy was trying in vain to reach her, his instincts screaming to keep his mate safe but failing as the enemy used that to their advantage to strike him down.
Jan and Peggy were no better as they struggled to release themselves from their binds. Subdued with no means to fight back, they were left to growl uselessly at their captives. Bucky remained the only one still free and fighting but was quickly being overtaken.
There was no sign of Bruce or the Hulk and what terrified Steve the most was not seeing Tony anywhere.
“Tony!” he cried out in blind panic. His instincts screaming to find him, but it only attracted the attention of the attackers. Many jumped from the tree line, catching them off guard. Catching both Thor and Loki off guard as they were quickly engulfed by a smokey, green substance released by their attackers. The two coughed and shut their eyes from the assault the smoke brought. Steve and the others were of no help as they were each engaged in combat, pushing back how they could while their entire pack was being overwhelmed.
To Steve’s dismay, they all ended similarly to the others. Pinned down, immobilized and tied up. One by one they were taken down. Thor and Loki were unconscious on the ground. The unusual green smoke having done what it was meant to do. Natasha and Clint put up a fierce fight, but eventually, even they were out-bested when the smoke, initially aimed at their two strongest, trickled over to them. Sam and Rhodey stood no chance when several aimed pistols at them. Without Loki’s spell for protection against them, they couldn’t risk being targeted at such a close range.
This had left Steve on his own, his desperation to find his missing mate making him disregard his own safety. He continued fighting. Long after it was obvious he was going to lose. He didn’t stop struggling even as they grabbed his arms and took away his shield. He kicked and he snarled and he bared his teeth.
“My, my, Captain. I had heard about you being a fierce warrior, but they never mentioned anything about feral.”
Steve nearly snapped his own neck when he turned to glare at the shifter who spoke. A deep growl emanated from his chest when he saw who it was.
“How terrifying,” mocked the very same omega who had come to them for help. She no longer seemed scared, nor did she appear a victim. No, she stood tall, proud, eyes hard and smile sickeningly sweet. She showed no fear for their attackers. It made Steve see red.
She was a part of this. Tony had been right.
This had been all a ploy to separate them. To weaken their strength and bring them down one by one.
It had worked.
It had been a lie and it had worked.
Now they were in enemy hands, Bruce and Tony were missing, they were all in danger and it was his fault.
He was meant to be a leader. He was meant to protect his pack, to keep them away from such obvious lies and from danger, and yet he invited it so blindly. Invited it because an omega played the role perfectly and he didn’t see it. None of them had.
Except for Tony.
His mate had not only warned him, but he had also explained the reasoning behind his suspicion, and Steve had ignored him.
Steve had ignored his own mate’s warning in order to help a stranger who had turned out to be an enemy.
Steve was never going to forgive himself if Tony or the others got hurt because of his own decisions as a leader.
A slap to his face forced his head to the side. The action so sudden it knocked the air clean out of him. The sting from the pain did nothing to stop him from growling at the sight of the omega so close now. Inches from his face.
“Don’t ignore me, Captain,” her eyes, sharp and dark, pierced him as if they were the very knives she carried in her belt. Her dark hair only made her pale face all the more ashen. How Steve could have thought her a victim was beyond him now. She resembled every bit a liar.
Steve gave her all his attention. He made sure to remember every distinction, every hair strand, every crow’s feet and every blemish. He was never going to forget that face. Not until it was blue from death by his hand. Omega be damned.
“To think, all one needed to do to distract the great Captain was bat their eyelashes and act the terrified little tart, and he’ll be eating from the palm of your hand,” the omega smirked, eyes taunting, “and here I thought you were happily mated, and yet you let your eyes gaze upon another. I’m flattered.”
Steve bared his teeth. “Like hell.”
She acted confused. “Is that not what you did? One look of fear and you wanted to protect. One little tear and you wanted to avenge. You wanted to right the wrongs that had been done to me, so much so your little omega whore hid himself from my sights.” She pulled away to wave her arm towards the direction of their home. “Now, that little wench is hiding amongst the halls of your home and won’t come out. Too scared to see even our faces or witness your demise. Or perhaps,” she smiled again, too gleeful, “scared to see his alpha choose another.”
The lies she spilled from her mouth was all the more reason his anger and desire to end her grew in him. As if Tony would ever hide away when his pack was in danger. If anything, it would take the Hulk and Thor working together to stop him from running foolishly to their aid. Tony would sooner risk his own life then run away.
But where was he?
“I feel it is only right to end his suffering, don’t you? Why allow him to live on with a broken heart? That would be cruel.” The omega faced the side of the mansion. There, standing in a group, were five of their attackers holding something oval and white. With a motion of her hand, they aimed the objects towards their home and threw them at the walls simultaneously.
The objects exploded upon impact. A chemical mixture that left devastating consequences to the structure of their home. More and more they threw as they circled the mansion and Steve was left to stare helplessly as it was engulfed by flames.
“NO!” Steve cried out, lurching forward in desperation only to be held back by the many arms on him. “TONY!”
Tony would never abandon them. Tony wouldn’t hide away in their den while his packmates were being attacked. Tony would be out here captured with them, having fought with all his might to the last possible second. Except, he wasn’t, and the only possible explanation for it… he was being held back. Captured, trapped, inside their very home while it burned to the ground, and Steve could do nothing as he watched it happen.
His mate suffocating inside as the building collapsed on him, and Steve unable to lift a damn finger to get him out. Tony was dying, and Steve couldn’t do anything to stop it.
“No, no, no!” he screamed, forcing himself forward with all his strength. “Tony, Tony!”
“Get moving!” the omega shouted over him, the mansion collapsing behind her. “No need for attention on us.”
The hands began to pull and Steve was helpless against them. “Tony…”
Kitten Peter! ch. 2
Go here for the plot bunny that started it all: clickbait
Go here for the actual first chapter I wrote for the plot bunny: more clickbait
Go here for the Ao3 link: how can there be even more clickbait
Okay, let’s start this. As with all the other stories, EVERYONE that comments on any of the parts, get’s automatically put down in the tags. If you don’t want to be tagged for this or future parts, (but still want to comment, in which case: bless you), just write “no tag, please.” Or contact me via messaging here. I completely understand if you want to keep your notifications as clear as possible.
Despite the many, many promises that he was not about to have a mental breakdown because his ex was coming back, Pepper had herded Tony (and Peter) out of the lab and into his living room. Then the fiery redhead had made him something to eat. A very poor attempt at fried vegetables with rice, that the billionaire had forced down his throat through pure will power. The woman was a great friend, a fantastic assistant and a marvelous CEO, but she could barely boil water.
Not that Tony would ever tell her that.
As he chewed his way through the mushy rice and cotton like broccoli (how did you even get vegetables to take on this kind of texture?), he couldn't help but envy Peter. The little kitten was happily munching on his chef cooked, kitty appropriate, fish dinner.
It had taken another hour after that to make the woman believe that he really was okay, before Pepper had finally left for the night. With the sudden absence of someone inquiring if he really was alright, Tony found himself asking the very same question.
Was he okay?
The feeling of tiny claws digging into his pant leg diverted his attention momentarily to the tiny brown kitten scrambling up into his lap.
"You realize these pants cost 900$, right? And here you are, poking them full of tiny holes and spreading your hair all over my general wardrobe."
Contrary to his words, he immediately scratched Peter's head once the kitten had made his way up and into his favorite spot.
"We are going to get some visitors tomorrow, Petey. This tower was actually not always this empty, you know? I mean besides the business departments and all the other S.I. staff."
Peter was apparently not finished with climbing his human, and proceeded to scale up the inventor's shirt. Tony kept a careful hand underneath his kitten, content to let Peter climb up on his own, but ready to catch him should he slip.
"They used to live here, you know? The Avengers. Earth's mightiest heroes. I was one of them. AM one of them, but you know this. You have seen my suit. I'm Iron Man, and therefore the best, right?"
Peter had made it up to Tony's chin and was rubbing his little body affectionately along his beard and cheek. Tony smiled.
"Right. Anyway, the rest of the team has been away for some time... I think they left about two weeks before I found you, and they are coming back tomorrow and I... I don't know how I feel about that."
He sighed deeply, as if finally admitting that part to himself, after having spent the last few hours denying any negative thoughts to Pepper.
Peter settled himself on his right shoulder and rubbed his head against the skin on his neck, letting out a tiny mewl that sounded almost prompting.
"It's not that I don't want them to come back. They are my friends, and I actually like having them around. Even Barton, and that guy is a menace, I tell you. If he tries kidnapping you into the vents, you go ahead and scratch up his stupid face, got it?"
He ran his fingers over Peter's small back, and the kitten started purring. Tony relaxed.
"You will like them. There is Rhodey, who is my best friend, actually. I met him in college and he... well, he has been looking out for me ever since. He is also an Air Force Colonel and probably the most level headed of all of us. He has a suit that is almost as cool as mine, but he buckled under the peer pressure and gave himself the moniker of Iron Patriot, which isn't even a fraction as cool as his previous 'War Machine'. Then there is Bruce, my science bro. He is the strongest Avenger and he might even be smarter than me, but we are not gonna tell him that. He also turns into a tall, green rage monster on occasion, but he is really just a big ol' marshmallow on the inside. Clint is our modern day version of Robin Hood, just without the stealing from the rich and giving to the poor thing. ... On second thought, scratch that. He always stole my fucking coffee and then drank it himself. As if he wasn't perfectly capable of brewing his own. So, yeah. Modern day Robin Hood with less altruistic intentions and only marginally better fashion sense. I'm not sure if Thor is on earth right now, so he might not make an appearance tomorrow. If he does, try not to climb him, okay? I know he is easily confused with a tree, and his stupid cape is probably a very big temptation for your little claws. But you just never know when that big lug decides to twirl his glorified hammer and light up like it's the fourth of July. And if Thor electrocutes my little Petey-Pie, I'm gonna blast his head off, Asgardian royalty or not. So we better avoid that and don't go climbing up any aliens, okay? Trust me, it's not worth it. His beard doesn't hold a candle to mine."
On cue, Peter rubbed his head against the billionaire's bearded chin, letting out a contented mewl.
"Natasha is a bit more difficult to describe. I'm pretty sure if Fury ever manages to clone her, he will jsut retire every other superhero and agent on the planet and fill all his mission teams with Black Widow clones and take over the world. ... Come to think of it, that's a very scary thought. Friday, remind me to hack into Shield later and see if they have any kind of cloning research in the works."
"Of course, boss."
Peter didn't startle anymore when Friday's disembodied voice sounded throughout the tower, but he had started batting his paw in the air whenever she spoke. Like he was waving hello. Tony thought it was precious.
"Anyway, Natasha is pretty badass, but I don't think you have anything to worry about. Just hit her with the eyes and she is gonna be a goner for sure."
He could actually picture Natasha stopping in the middle of kicking Clint's ass, just to give Peter a tummy rub. He would have to be vigilant from now on. He wouldn't put it past Barton and Romanoff to try and kidnap (catnap?) his little Petey. He was going to write an anti-kitty-napping code into Friday's mainframe.
"And that brings us to... to Steve."
His mood took a nose dive. There was the crux of the matter. Steve.
Peter, clever little kitty that he was, noticed the change in his human immediately, and bumped his head against Tony's cheek with a questioning meow.
"It's... complicated. Steve and I, we used to be in a relationship. Shoot, I haven't given you that particular talk yet, have I? So, when one mature cat really likes another mature cat, and they decide to have a bunch of little kittens together... wait, that's called a litter, right? Okay, so if these two cats really like each other, and are both of a consenting age, they might decide to have a litter of adorable little kittens together, you know, if one was in heat and it's like mating season... do cats have mating seasons? Actually, this comparison doesn't really work, because neither Steve nor I were trying to get each other pregnant... You know what? You are way too young for this kinda talk, mister."
He carefully took Peter into his hand and held the kitten in front of his face, so he could look directly into the big, round eyes.
"I do not want you getting any ideas of running off with any mangy, ruffian tom cat, or some little pussy hussy, that tries to lay their dirty, perverted paws on you, got it?"
Peter leaned over the rim of Tony's hand and licked him on the nose. Tony grinned.
"Okay. But we will be having a 'stranger, danger' talk later."
He then cradled the kitten in both hands and cuddled him into his chest.
"So, back to the Steve issue. We were together. As, in a relationship. All official like, with going on dates and pet names and everything. The media even had a ship name for us: Stony; which, not very original, but no one has ever accused mass media of originality, so what can you do. Anyway, Steve and I were a 'thing', and I thought we were a 'good thing', you know? I mean, we hadn't dropped the L-word yet, but we had been going steady for a pretty long time, and that was kinda a first for me, and... I liked it. Him. Us. Being an 'us' with Steve. And it was good. Comfortable. And then Barnes came back."
His hand stopped petting Peter at the memory, and the kitten softly tapped his paw against Tony's thumb. When Tony looked down, he once again couldn't stop the thought that Peter must somehow understand him, because right then, the little kitten was looking up at him with an almost too human expression of worry and sympathy. He smiled at him and resumed his petting.
"Long story short, Steve slept with Barnes and broke up with me. And, look, it's not like I don't have sympathy for the guy. The things Hydra did to him and made him do... Suddenly being free of all that and having your best friend there with you...  And I understand Steve's side of things as well. Kinda. Those feelings he has for Barnes, they probably weren't anything new. But back in his time, same sex relationships weren't simply frowned upon, but downright illegal. Then there was the war and the serum and everything else... They probably never really had the time or opportunity to realize exactly what they felt for each other. And then suddenly Steve wakes up decades in the future; and everything is different and he gets put on this team of super idiots and there is fighting and aliens and more fighting and in the midst of all of this, there is the cultural shock of having just skipped like two whole generations..."
Tony had been thinking a lot about it, actually. He wasn't always honest with himself, and he wasn't always good with his emotions. It was something Rhodey had said to him a long time ago. That sometimes, in order to understand our own feelings, we had to understand the feelings of those around us.
And with Peter's calming influence, he had been thinking a lot about Barnes and Steve and himself and their relationships.
At first, fresh after the break up, Tony had just been angry. Hurt, too, but that was so much harder to face than the anger had been, and so he had settled on that instead.
After the team had left for the compound (and Tony understood that his personal relationship drama could not stand in the way of the Avengers availability for missions and their need to keep up their training regimen.), he had locked himself in his lab for three days, trying to tinker his anger and hurt away. Then Pepper had lost her patience with him and hauled the genius out of there and made him see a therapist and sleep and eat (not in that order, though).
Any protestations that he didn't need to see a shrink just because his boyfriend broke up with him, were waved away by the woman ("Someone taking care of your mental health has been long overdue.")
It hadn't helped. The therapist and the food and the sleep, non of it had helped and Tony just got angrier and angrier at his own inability to let it all fucking go. (He had missed his Iron Man suit, and being an active Avengers, but even Tony, as much as he hated to admit it, knew that he hadn't been in the right frame of mind for it)
But then had come that fateful night, where Tony had taken his therapists advice to take a peaceful, relaxing stroll around some neighborhood. It hadn't been peaceful, and it hadn't been relaxing, and Tony had been pissed all the more for it. And then he almost got shot by some two bit thug. But he didn't regret it one bit, because those were the circumstances that brought Peter into his life.
Ever since the little kitten had launched himself at Tony's almost murderer and saved the billionaire's life, things had started getting better. Having a tiny, fluffy creature to take care of and adore, had left Tony no time to dwell on his anger. Watching as the kitten explored his new home with too much enthusiasm and too little coordination, had made the man smile and laugh more in those first few days, than he had in weeks (months?).
Cuddling up with Peter anywhere and having the little fluffball purr up a storm, never failed to relax Tony and often lulled him into a deep, and thankfully dreamless, sleep. He quit going to his therapist and started taking Peter with him wherever he went. Pepper wasn't impressed the first time he showed up to a board meeting, with the kitten neatly tucked into his shirt's breast pocket. But she had quickly given in when she saw that Tony actually paid attention during the meeting, and was much more open to listening to the boards suggestions, while he was playing with Peter.
He talked to Peter all the time, about everything. S.I. business, new projects, what he thought about any particular book or movie, his robots, his suit, absolutely anything that came to mind. Aside from the Avengers. Until now.
"So, really, I get it. Those two are probably some kind of star-crossed, destined to be, once in a lifetime, lovers. And I don't even begrudge them finally being together. I just... I hate how it happened. I hate that Steve all but ignored me when Barnes came back from the dead. I hate that he slept with him while we were still an item. I hate that it made me feel like I had been a stand-in for Barnes all along. I hate that I have hardly talked to any of the team since they relocated to the compound. I hate-" He sighed. "I hate that I don't hate him. I kind of want to. I feel like that would be easier, you know?"
Peter just looked at him with his big, adorable eyes and laid his little paw on Tony's chest, right where the genius' heart was beating. Really, sometimes it felt like the kitten understood every word.
"I miss him, but not in the way one misses a significant other. I miss arguing about reading the newspaper on my tablet versus reading it on paper. I miss confusing him with pop culture references he doesn't know about. And I miss him getting on my case about spending too much time in the lab. But I'm not too hung up about all the couples' stuff. Not saying I didn't enjoy the se-  wait, this isn't appropriate for young kitty ears. It's not like I didn't like our 'intimacy', but looking back on it now, I think Steve and I, we were always more of a 'friends with benefits' type of relationship, with more weight placed on the 'friends' part of the deal. Don't get me wrong, I'm still angry about Steve cheating on me like that, and how it all went down, but I think I can forgive him. I mean, obviously we will need to have it out, first. We didn't really get to the 'break up talk' before I pretty much kicked everyone out, and I guess that's partly on me. But, I want to forgive him. So, if Steve and I manage to clear the air between us, and all that sentimental stuff, ... yeah."
Peter had climbed back up to Tony's shoulder and lovingly rubbed his head against every part of his human's face he could reach. Tony laughed.
"Love you, too, Petey. You are the best kitten in the world, you know that? I will tell Vincent to make you something extra special for breakfast tomorrow."
Tony brought his hand up to massage his fingers into the soft fur, while Peter burrowed himself into the man's neck and purred until they both fell asleep.
Okay, let me first say, I understand if people might be a bit confused over Tony's seemingly easy forgiveness here, but I hope I managed to portray that in this story, Tony and Steve's previous relationship isn't meant to be the main plot point. It's actually not even meant to be a particularly important plot point. The story's main plot is the relationship between Tony and Peter, and Peter being an adorable little ball of fluff. :-)
Also, I didn't want Tony to be completely broken up because things with Steve went south. Matter of fact is, romantic relationships sometimes don't last. They sometimes don't work out. And sometimes someone messes up. Steve cheated on Tony. That was a douche move, no question. But I didn't want to just bash his character. Steve didn't cheat on Tony because he didn't value him, or because he is just is a super asshole. These are very special circumstances, and things didn't go great, and Steve isn't perfect, and he messed up. But he didn't do it with malicious intent, and he is still a good guy, and he will try his best to repair the trust between him and Tony.
Tony is gonna get a bit of funny, petty revenge on Steve, though. With Peter's help, of course. ;-)
Sidenote: I would really like to know your opinion about Tony's aborted efforts to have 'The Talk', with kitty Peter. :-) :-) :-) I hope it was as funny to read, as it was to write!
endgame post
SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS BENEATH THIS CUT
[Update] I made a Youtube review (still spoilery though). If you wanna support what I do, please consider buying me Ko-Fi
Firstly, there’s no after credits so don’t bother waiting around for that. Three hours is a long time to be holding your pee. Second, bring tissues. I was crying from the moment the title sequence rolled.
The main thing you need to know is that there was time travel courtesy of Scott Lang and the Pym particles in this film and a tonne of pop culture references in terms of time-travelling and it was all
Tumblr media
The gist of the Time Heist was that they were gonna go back into time and get the Infinity Stones before Thanos could get to it and they figured out that if they hit the right year, there were already three stones on Earth (Mind, Space & Time). So our heroes split up into three teams to Pokemon Gotta Catch’em all.
Now, we’ll start with my favourite, the love of my life, Tony Stark. My man. We got them right that Carol Danvers definitely brought Nebula and Tony’s space ship back to Earth. There is a five year time jump in this film that saw Tony and Pepper get married (which regardless of how you may swing on Pepperony, YAY!) and have a child together, Morgan H. Stark who, let me tell you, I would die for because she is the perfect copy of Tony and I would not be surprised if one day they did a Young Avengers roster and she is there. Tony Stark having a child of his own and it is glooooriuuusss.
Steve Rogers got rid of the beard, and honestly I missed it ngl.
Let me just say that I adore, adore, adore them for not letting the Stony reunion be just a push by. They let it breathe and matter and it was every angsty Post-Civil War fanfic brought to life. They allowed Tony to lay it into Cap that this was what happened when you didn’t listen to me when I told you I saw this coming. There was a reference to the suit of armour statement from Age of Ultron and Tony laid it into Steve that look at what we lost because you tore us apart and it hurt so good my friends, so good. But over the course of the movie you could see them slowly relearn to trust and depend and be a team again and it was great. When they said that Endgame was a Stony event, they meant it. I live for this. I love it.
Tumblr media
Thor got a beer belly and it’s as if the writers underestimate the powers of our thirst for this man. I would still ride him like no one’s business. He’s let himself go, feeling the survivors guilt weigh on him because he aimed for the head and not the arm. The Valkyrie survived Thanos’ raid on the Asgardian refugee ship and New Asgard is formed, probably, where Odin told Thor to remember the view. Thor, Korg and Miek are running a roommate situation where the Wifi is free, and Thor fights back Online trolls.
I think we all knew going in that Clint Barton was gonna be the Ronin and they certainly didn’t disappoint. They gave us a bit of Hiroyuki Sanada’s character fighting with Clint and that was great. But it honestly made me want to say SO dark you sure you’re not the DC Universe?
Natasha has always been a character I was always a bit miffed with the writing about. There have been many complaints about the inconsistencies of her characterisation and those weren’t unwarranted. That being said, I am at peace with where they took her in this movie.
Hulk and Bruce Banner managed to find some zen where Banner’s consciousness could exist at the same time as Hulk’s body.
I’m so happy about the way they treated Nebula as a character and you could tell that Karen Gillan was given a lot of room to stretch out and breathe here. As one of the effects of travelling into a timeline which had her past self, Future!Nebula shared the same network with Past!Nebula which allowed Thanos to access her memories and to be aware of what the Avengers were planning to do. Which, Oh No.
So what happened: The heroes split up through time and space to get the stones. Steve, Tony, Scott and Bruce all go back to 2012 during the Battle of New York, where Bruce goes to convince Tilda Swinton’s Sorcerer Supreme to give him the Time Stone, Steve goes and intercepts the Mind gem (still in Loki’s glow stick of destiny) by convincing Sitwell and Rumlow that he was all Hail Hydra, which gave me all kinds of Hydra!Cap feels, Tony and Scott get to go for the Tesseract. Shit happens, Bruce succeeds by telling the Sorcerer Supreme that Strange gave it willingly to Thanos which clues her in that there might be more to it, and Steve battles himself for the glow stick of destiny
Also, there is much mention and appreciation of Steve’s ass. America’s Ass. Yes, indeed. That is a nice derriere. Premium grade American Ass right there 🍑💦
(I’ve been waiting hours to use this gif :>>>)
Tumblr media
Tony and Scott screwed the pooch and they lose the Tesseract while Loki, who sees an opportunity, snatches and bails. So I guess that’s how they get to slip into the planned Loki series for Disney+. Tony and Steve then jump back to the 1970s where they can get more Pym particles, for more jumps and where the Tesseract will be both at the same place, the secret bunker facility we saw in Cap2. Steve chances upon Peggy’s office there and spends some time looking at her from the shadows, while Tony bumps into his dad who is freaking out about Tony’s impending birth. He manages to give his dad some advice on becoming a dad, and they gave us a nice closure for Tony who hugs and thanks his dad for everything he has done.
Rhodey and Nebula go to Morag to intercept Peter Quill right before he gets the orb with the Power Stone. They both succeed but right before they can jump back, Nebula is paralysed by Ebony Maw hacking into her memories and she figures out that Thanos knows the plan. Rhodey jumps back, but she doesn’t and is captured by Thanos, Past!Nebula and Gamora.
Clint and Natasha travel to Vormir and is soon acting like self-sacrificial idiots who battle it out to throw themselves for the Soul stone. Clint manages to clear the ledge, but Natasha is the one who pulls a switcheroo and tells Clint to “Let me go” which :<<<<<< So she dies and Clint gets the stone.
Thor and Rocket go to Asgard circa Thor The Dark World to get the Reality gem. Soon, Thor bumps into Frigga who immediately tells him that she knows he isn’t her son and that the future must’ve not been kind to him. She gives him some words of comfort and wisdom and tells him, despite his insistence that she knows what is going to happen to her, she doesn’t want to know, and honestly this movie gave Frigga the character fleshing out in five minutes what two movies couldn’t and I fucking love it. They are also successful and right before they leave, Thor calls for Mjölnir, and is pleased to know that he is still worthy when she answers.
Our heroes all come back, plus Nebula but they all soon realise that Nat isn’t coming back. They waste no time with assembling the stones with Tony’s nanotech gauntlet (I was kinda bummed we didn’t get to see more giant Peter Dinklage but I guess season 8 of Game of Thrones was a big thing huh) and Hulk-Banner takes it upon himself to do the snapping because he is the strongest avenger and it damn near kills him (remember this).
It works, but before our heroes can enjoy the sweet taste of success, we figure out that Nebula ain’t our Nebula and is Past!Nebula who has impersonated our Nebula to open up a portal for Thanos to arrive in. Thanos decimates the Avengers facility and we enter the final battle.
Thor, Steve and Tony are the only ones not currently trapped under rubble and they all try to hold Thanos off from Clint who has the gauntlet and the stones.
Thor becomes pinned down under Thanos who is trying to stab him with Stormbreaker when Steve picks up Mjölnir and knocks him a new one and we get Thor saying “I knew it!” and let me just say that by this point I was screaming. Really. This was a comic book payoff and I love it. #SteveIsWorthy
This battle bit made me so anxious, like, holy shit I was worried for the safety of all involved. Then we see that Steve is the only left standing against the legion of Thanos, but wait! We see the Strange’s magic circle portals and it shows the arrival of all the other heroes who were snapped. So we have Black Panther coming in with the Wakandans and Bucky and Sam who goes “On your left” to Steve, the heroes on Thanos’ home planet (PETERRRR) and also, Pepper in her own armour!
We get, fucking finally after all this time, to hear Cap say “Avengers Assemble!”
The ensuing melee sees them all try to get the gauntlet to Scott and Hope who are standing by the Pym van to try and get the stones back in time where Thanos can’t get them, and we get to see Peter finally get his hug from Tony and ngl I was crying.
All through it all our Nebula convinces Gamora that she’s changed, and that they have to stop Thanos, and our Nebula kills Past!Nebula when she tries to kill Gamora.
It becomes a whole monkey in the middle situation with everyone passing the gauntlet off to another teammate and we see Peter activate Instant Kill, which is awesome, and then just when shit was about to get worse, get Carol coming in to get the gauntlet coz she’s the star quarterback here (i honestly feel like she was only here for the beginning and end so if you’re only watching this for her, i’m sorry?) and Peter asks her how's she going to get through all of that, all the women Avengers come up and Okoye says, “Don’t worry, she’ll have help” which just, ❤️
When Stephen Strange came back into the fray, Tony had asked him whether this is the one time they succeed and he says that he can’t say it because then it becomes real. So, when it seems like Thanos was going to get another shot at the snap, he makes eye contact with Tony and lifts up a ☝🏼which.
Tony makes a roll for the gauntlet, but Thanos pushes him back, tries to snap but. Nothing happens. We turn, and see that Tony has the stones melding with his gauntlet, and as he prepares to snap his fingers, looks Thanos in the eyes and says “I am Iron Man”
Tony lays dying on the battlefield as Thanos and his legion are dust in the wind. Rhodey, Pep and Peter all say goodbye and are with him to the end and fuck y’all I thought I did my crying in the cinema but as I’m remembering this scene I’m tearing up again holy shit.
We get a funeral where Pepper and Morgan lay a wreath on a lake which had the Proof That Tony Stark Has A Heart reactor from IM1 laid on it. The funeral is a who’s who of the MCU and we get Harley Keener back, which is, yay, but also :< Happy asks Morgan what she wants to eat and she says cheeseburger. Which. Fuck. Tears Happy up as he promises to get her all the cheeseburgers she wants. And ensures that I won’t be touching a cheeseburger within the next year. So many callbacks to IM1 which was the movie that started it all and I can’t even.
Clint goes back to his family, looking like he’s hanging up the bow for good this time, and Thor hands over Kingship of New Asgard to Valkyrie and boards the Guardian’s ship for a future instalment of GOTG.
Steve is charged with being the one to get the stones back into their own timelines. Right before he goes, we get a callback to Cap1 with “Don’t do anything stupid while I’m gone” “How can I? You’re bringing all the stupid with you”, they prepare to pull him back but he misses the jump point. Sam, Bucky and Hulk-Banner panic for a moment before Bucky spots a man in the distance. They approach, and Bucky tells Sam to go talk to him, and we now see that it’s an aged Steve Rogers who had decided to stay back in time and is very much at peace and happy with it, Sam tells Steve that he doesn’t know how to live in a world without Captain America, when Steve hands over the shield to Sam and tells him that he’s it now. Now I cannot wait for the Falcon and Winter Soldier series.
The final scene in this movie was of Steve and Peggy dancing in their living room in what looks like the 1940s. Honestly, if I hadn’t already gone through a pack of tissues, I would’ve started then.
Cameos (at least the ones I picked out): Ken Jeong as a security guard in the San Fran warehouse where the Antman van was parked, Yvette Nicole Brown at Camp Lehigh, James D’Arcy as Jarvis (Which I was super stoked by because JARVISSSS), Joe Russo in a therapy circle with Steve (also made me real happy coz they kept a gender drop uncensored in my screening), and finally who could forget Stan Lee’s cameo all bedecked out in ‘70s flower power.
This movie was a lovely bowtie on 22 movies and 10 years of the MCU. Was it everything I wanted? No. It was more. Am I happy with what I got? No, I do wish some things ended differently but I knew they were coming. Nothing good lasts, and everything had to come to an end some time. I’m still unpacking my emotions tbh. The credits had all the OG6 signing their names, and the fact of the matter is, I have been so very changed by the MCU. The past 10 years have been amazing and I’ve been proud, and always will be proud to call myself a Marvel fan.
I honestly don’t know where they’ll be taking the MCU as a whole from this point onwards because it seems like there will be ripple effects from the actions of this film will be felt for at least the next ten years. Far From Home is the next MCU movie and I’m sure they’ll be dealing with the direct effects of this film so I’ll be looking forward to that. I’m elated, I am heartbroken, I am a glass case of emotions.
