The rule of thumb a human baby should be three times smaller than the adult size this baby is about 2 ft 8 in quickly approaching 3 ft and it's not a giant and they're trying to make things happen I just bringing up a topic and space because they're very shallow people and they're not learned. It's exhausting and it's supposed to be. We shall and are deploying different methodologies.
This is almost the exact size in shape overnight sandwich should have come out like have we not had to hide his size he's huge he's a giant. One more inch and you would have been there shucks and gross ok.
We hv a lot stupid offers like that. But he picked it out to show people who's half this lingth and he looked weird real skinny. His dad was pleased. You said the stunting me on purpose there's good you checked and said good.
Pretty much a good time but in a few months he's going to start to exfoliate a lot more maybe less. time. He's right too that monkey is going to come out I'm still working like a week could grow a lot faster and people say that the hormone is out there and there is some of it but it'll be going like mad if it were true so probably two weeks it'll be at about one foot and the algae though would be going bananas and it's cold bananas now oxygen levels going up from 14 2 weeks ago to about 17 in the day even with the sun and then at night they were at about 19 or 18 and now they're going up to 2324 and soon they're going to shoot way up there what's the rest of the muc goes out. In the first plume is still moving it's about 3,000 mi across with about 3,000 to go. It'll be nice he says. There's a few more things happening there's a huge amount of movement in the upper Midwest since we announced the NO FLY ZONE. There was a deadline and so many planes left we thought going to be ridiculous when they left but they just left. About a lot of planes we sold them a lot for real. It's going to hang so they all left to the east to the West even South. It was a massive Exodus and it's still going on but the airplanes are to halt at 5:00 p.m. and the rest will have to be driven out of state and they are doing that and people see them leaving and they're leaving cuz they have no air protection and they get it too just like thousands of airplanes leaving by land an hour they get a lot of attention.
There's too many people here bothering him it's become difficult to type.
-there's a lot of people in punta Gorda who are jerks to him because they're doing an on purpose and Trump and Son of two I want them out he's got to
Go clean his teeth and go home
Thor Freya
more shortly
We have a handle on who and why and we're going after them and with gusto it's ridiculous but they're doing what they're doing it and they're going to pay for it
Our son has a lot of money and not letting him have it is illegal and we are arresting people. Further today's court date was successful the group lawsuit went ahead and there are a lot of people in it and a lot of people were pissed off afterwards and they are going to counter Sue they say. And they say the people are instigating them and riding up on them silently threatening them and several of them have come up with a losses they're going to file Monday and they don't know what you're asking for still when it was explained to them and that's why Tommy f is here. And and he is an offender of course but he's sitting here like bothering him and he is getting charges written up on him and it's for stocking and harassment and more and is unaware of it but he will be aware of it Monday and he's a stupid person and the others are very stupid they're bringing counter suits and we are going to sue them for bringing a counter suit in other words it is more trauma that they wish to incur but we're going to take more of their stuff using the lawsuit and we're suing for more companies now of theirs as a result of this idiot move. They have no chance of winning that they want to do it and to be annoying and they want to count to the group action both of them and there are about five out of 10 of each group that want to try it and they were advised not to and it's small potatoes but if they go ahead and Sue for them suing for what they're doing the counter suit to that counter suit will be a lot more money and they're going to start seeking businesses and they're going to start seeking companies who are taken from them and money was taken from them and we're going to come up in the suits as people who took advantage of their deprived situation and then they're going to say egregious but they're going after these guys first until they get their power back and that's what they say so really these idiots are setting them up with this tragedy but we're going to then sue them if that ends we're going to take the rest of what John remillard and DJ and others they're holding off and we're part of people suing for company's back and we're also going to sue them for treasonous behavior and trying to ruin the economy and trying to kill people by doing so and the maximum and they'll produce evidence against them it's really like the fall of Rome
Thor Freya
News to having some acne problem and it's getting gross on your head so suggestion you put more soap because you're rubbing it and we do have alternatives to that stuff that work it's like bacitracin and usually work before so we know how to get to it you know you know how to get it and we suggested strongly. These cases are going along well we're making a lot of progress and they're going to lose a lot more stuff by bringing a counter suit and it will be very expensive for them if they approach it that way we have almost unlimited resources to fight with and they don't and these guys they're on the ropes and they insist on it to the judge and the judge doesn't want to do it and he's going to refer to another judge what he says is my judgment stance you want to argue it go to a higher Court and I said no we want to sue he and I think they can overcome them here and they're asking for big trouble and it's good then says oh they're going to get themselves fired that's what it is
Bitol and Goddess Wife
We understand how it's going and this stop he made here is valuable and people here we needed to see and we need to understand what they're doing Tommy f is a big one that is number one center Trump again the exposed part of it it's running around saying it a bum and as a matter of fact Peter Odette is a version of the pump they don't mind where they sleep where they told they're disgusting and he wants them away from me I can see why they're extremely annoying I'm trying to go into his place constantly they're trying to wake him up all the time. I got to tell you they're very poor judgment people they don't they don't have a way of judging what people are like or what kind of people they are we're not people who will put up with this kind of idiocy and he's less inclined to do so and they are incredibly off when it comes to knowing their status they don't know what their status is they don't know their power level and they don't understand what their power level is and they're going to proceed and knock themselves around and it's really upsetting and gross the talk and their display of polarity dishonesty hate speech asinine behavior and our friend says they're really mental patients but they're criminally insane and it should not be an excuse anymore and we are going to modify the law shortly and we're going to make sure that they pay for their crimes your friend says if he's in child according to something and there's a reasonable audience this whole family was murdered and planned so I mean it's like ridiculous they're obnoxious but for real if they file those papers Monday they are going to get sued for businesses that they took. And they're going to get sued for a lot of items that they stole and money and it probably wouldn't happen unless they open their mouths on Monday but they're zooming around town thinking they have a chance at winning a lawsuit that is flawed to begin with. The juvenile and insulting and they think that they're going to win some sort of fight or event by being pissy little b****** what they say is insulting is hell and it only brings and a lot of them don't get out of prison at all. We have three of them that have drawn up papers they don't even have lawyers and John remillard already lost five cases and they're big including the Chevy Blazer case where he was sent to prison for homicide and he's got warrants on him in that state he says it doesn't matter but he doesn't go there because they arrest him within 20 minutes of him arriving. We're also going to sue them for them causing the hate and resentment it's a form of harassment and it's to instigate reaction and we're going to increase the counts of harassment for each statement that they evoke and we are going to go after big money now because I don't seem to understand that they're in trouble for what they're doing and their behavior is not helping of a huge enemy down below and they'd rather just sit here and threaten everybody else they refuse to back off their idiotic stance they will not have anything and we think it will happen that by the end of the year there probably going to be extinct or all in the islands and isolated and it's really no doubt that they're heading towards that. Act like little children and they're condescending yet they have very little skill and they're socially inept and they can't form a complete sentence and they don't know how to write and most don't know how to read properly and it's going to reflect in the lawsuits that were preparing for Monday

Chapter 3: Lack of Conviction
Now that Loki had been captured, it was just a waiting game until the cube was found. Steve had been offered a bed to crash on but even if he wanted to, he couldn’t sleep. Instead he decided to walk the halls of the helicarrier. Trying to understand this new level of tech.
As he did, he passed a break room where he saw Thor and you sat. Cups of coffee in hand. He walks in pouring himself a cup before sitting down with them.
“I’ve heard a lot about you Thor” Steve says.
“Good things I hope” Thor says leaning back in his seat.
“So far, yes” Steve offers with a small smile.
“I am going to go talk to Agent Coulson, I shall see you later sister” Thor says standing up leaving the two of them alone.
“I’m sorry about my brother, causing all this mess” you say looking down at your coffee mug.
“It’s okay, we can’t always control what our siblings do” Steve sighs.
“You have siblings?” You ask him.
“No but my friend Bucky was like a brother to me” Steve sighs in bittersweet reminiscence.
“Is he still around?” You ask leaning forward to lean on the chair.
“No, he died in 1945” Steve sighed thinking back to that fateful mission.
“It’s 2011 isn’t it?” You question, Steve nodding his head in answer.
“I hope you don’t mind me saying, you look pretty good for someone who should be nearly 100” you smirk making Steve laugh.
“I was trapped in the ice for 70 years, only woke back up in this new world a month or so ago” Steve explains.
“Well glad to know I’m not the only one” you laugh making Steve look over at you in confusion.
“I’m actually half human, my father is Odin, my mother was a mortal. She died when I was a baby so Odin brought me to Asgard and raised me there. I’ve not been back to earth since” you explain, Steve gives you a sympathetic smile.
He knew exactly how disorienting being in this new world was. He was secretly happy that there was someone else who knew how it felt.
“Do you have powers like your brother?” Steve asks.
“Yes and no, he’s the god of thunder so he has control over all that. However, I have power over the elements, I don’t age as slow as him too, he’s like 1500 years old, I’m technically and biologically around 25 but I was born in the 1960s” you explain.
“Wow I never thought I’d have so much in common with demigod” Steve chuckles.
“And me with a war hero” you smile.
“You know about that?” He asks slightly surprised.
“Fury filled me in super quickly, stop me from accidentally causing a code green as he calls it” you say making Steve chuckle.
Remembering how you very nearly attacked Bruce for him comment about Loki. You reminded him of another strong female who didn’t mind putting people in their place.
“Yes I was slightly nervous about that” Steve says making you laugh.
“Oh that reminds me, you wouldn’t mind explaining flying monkeys to me?” You ask a hint of sheepishness on your face.
“There was this movie, called the wizard of oz, the main villain was a witch who had flying monkeys as her minions” Steve explained, you still looked slightly lost though so he grabbed a pen and a napkin and quickly sketched one out.
“Like this” he says pushing the napkin over to you.
“Ah yes okay, that makes sense now I guess I’ll have to see the movie to fully grasp the reference” you chuckle.
“Well when this is all over, I can show you if you want” Steve offers suddenly feeling really brave.
You were a very attractive lady and he couldn’t help but feel slightly like the little kid from Brooklyn as he spoke to you.
“Yes, sounds good, it would be nice to learn about this world with someone” you smile making Steve smile straight back.
“Yeah definitely” Steve agrees.
“Well I best go see what my other brother is up to, thanks for the help Steve” you smile getting up and leaving Steve alone.
He sits back in his chair a small smile on his face. Glad to have a friend to go through all this with. It made the prospect seem a lot less daunting.
Tumblr media
“So sister what do you think of earth so far?” Thor asks as the two of you look out at the sky around you.
“I like it I think, coffee is definitely good. Seems very different to how you described it though” you say shrugging your shoulders.
“Yeah, well this wasn’t exactly what I thought would happen, just wait until we get down on the ground” Thor smiles nudging your shoulder.
“You two, we need you in the labs” Natasha says calling for the two of you.
“What’s going on?” You ask as you walk over.
“We believe Loki is trying to release the Hulk” Natasha says as the three of you walk towards the lab.
“How is that possible, he’s locked up” Thor asks.
“I dunno but I don’t wanna wait to find out” Nat sighs as you step inside the lab.
“I was wrong director the world hasn’t changed a bit” Steve states glaring over at Fury as the three of you walked in.
“Did you know about this?” Bruce asks Nat pointing over at the screen that showed some form of weapon.
“You want to think about removing yourself from this environment doctor?” She responds ignoring his question.
“I was in Calcutta, I was pretty well removed” Bruce retorts, you could already feel the tension beginning to build in the room.
“Loki is manipulating you” Natasha says calmly taking a step closer.
“And you’ve been doing what, exactly?” Bruce asks knowingly.
“You didn’t come here because I bat my eyelashes at you” Nat responds.
“Yes and I’m not leaving because suddenly you get a little twitchy. I’d like to know why SHIELD is using the tesseract to build weapons of mass destruction” Bruce asks pointing to the screen.
“Because of him” Fury says pointing at Thor.
Both you and Thor look back at him shocked and confused.
“Me?” Thor asks
“Excuse me what?” You say at the same time.
“Last year earth had a visitor from another planet who had a grudge match that levelled a small town” Fury explains.
“That was Loki’s fault not Thor’s” you argue, but Fury ignores you.
“We learned that not only are we not alone, but we are hopelessly, hilariously outgunned” Fury continues.
“My people want nothing but peace with your planet” Thor says.
“Earth is a planet close to both of our heart” you add.
“But you’re not the only people out there are you? And you’re not the only threat” Fury retorts.
“We are not a threat!” You argue beginning to get agitated.
“The worlds filling up with people who can’t be matched, that can’t be controlled” Fury continues once again ignoring you making your blood boil even more.
“Like you controlled the cube?” Steve points out.
“Your work with the tesseract is what drew Loki to it and his allies. It is a signal to all the realms that the earth is ready for a higher form of war” Thor states, clearly also getting agitated at the Asgardian slander.
“A higher form?” Steve question incredulously.
“You forced our hand we had to come up with something” Fury states.
“A nuclear deterrent? Because that always calms everything right down” Tony says speaking up.
“Remind me again how you made your fortune, stark?” Fury retorts.
“I’m sure if he still made weapons, Stark would be neck deep-“ Steve says stepping forward toward Fury before Tony interrupts.
“Wait, wait hold on, how is this now about me?” Tony exclaims hold his hand up.
“I’m sorry isn’t everything?” Steve asks.
“I thought humans were more evolved than this, no offence sister” Thor says glancing at you.
“None taken” you reply thinking almost the exact same thing, at least you were half Asgardian.
“Excuse me did we come to your planet and blow stuff up?” Fury scoffs.
“You treat your champions with such distrust!” Thor states angrily.
“Are you really that naive? SHIELD monitors potential threats” Nat says.
“Captain America is on the threat list?” Bruce asks
“We all are, maybe with the exception of Y/N considering we didn’t know she existed” Nat replies.
“We are not a threat to begin with!” You argue.
“Tell that to the small town in New Mexico” Fury retorts.
“That was Loki! Thor and all the other Asgardians came to save it” you exclaim.
The tension in the room continued to bubble, everyone arguing with each other. It was difficult to know who was verbally attacking who. At least you knew you and Thor had each other’s back. You were almost starting to regret coming back to earth. This was not what Thor said it would be like.
“You speak of control, yet you court chaos” Thor argues.
“That’s his MO isn’t it?” Banner asks “I mean what are we? A team? No, we’re a chemical mixture that makes chaos. We’re a time bomb” Bruce says visibly agitated.
“You need step away” Fury warns.
“Why shouldn’t the guy let off a little steam?” Tony asks, putting his hand on Steve shoulder.
“You know damn well why, back off” Steve growls pushing Tony’s hand away.
You watch as Steve and Tony continue to argue. Sizing each other up, exchanging verbal insults. Steve telling Tony to put on his suit.
Thor starts laughing at the two of them “you people are so petty and tiny” he laughs.
“Yeah this is a team” Bruce scoffs.
You rub your forehead in frustration, this team or whatever were not going to get anywhere like this. Fury asked Natasha to escort Bruce out but Bruce refuses. Everyone watches as he grows more and more agitated. Telling everyone who he couldn’t be killed, the hulk always keeping him alive when he didn’t want it.
The air in the room shifts as Bruce picks up the sceptre. Both Natasha and Fury reaching for their guns slyly. Steve brings it to his attention that Bruce was holding the sceptre. The guy looking as shocked as everyone else.
Suddenly a computer beeps grabbing everyone’s attention.
“Sorry kids looks like you don’t get to see my party trick” Bruce sighs walking over to the computer.
“You located the tesseract?” You ask looking at him.
“I could get there faster” Tony says holding up his hand.
“The tesseract belongs on Asgard, no human is a match for it. Me and Y/N shall retrieve it” Thor tells them.
Steve and Tony start fighting once again, once again back to the argument before. You were so distracted by them that you barely heard what Bruce muttered. Suddenly a large explosion rocked the helicarrier, the heat bursting through into the lab. Everyone thrown in different directions. Both you and Thor fly out of one of the doors into the corridor.
“Are you alright sister?” Thor asks sitting up.
“Think so, you?” You ask wiping away the small trickle of blood that ran down your face.
You both then hear the sound of the hulk roaring through the helicarrier.
“That’s not good” you mutter.
“We need to go” Thor says the both of you running off in the direction of the hulk.
Once you get there Thor crashes through tackling the hulk away from Nat. The both of them crashing through into the next room.
“You okay?” You ask kneeling down beside her.
She gives you a weak shake of the head pulling her knees up to her chest.
“Loki, you need to make sure he doesn’t escape” she tells you after a moment.
“Of course” you say standing back up “stay down” you tell her before running of towards the detention centre.
It was taking you far too long to get there. There were agents who kept attacking you slowly you down. You fought them off trying your best not to harm them too badly. They were likely being controlled by Loki, so you mostly disarm them, using your power to create restraints out of ice and vines.
When you finally got to the detention centre you saw Thor arrive at the opposite door. You then saw the door to Loki’s cell opening. Before you could warn Thor that it was a trick Thor lunged forward. You watched as he went straight though Loki, the cell door closing behind him.
“Are you ever not going to fall for that?” Loki asks with a scoff.
“Loki stop! That is enough!” You shout.
Loki smirks over at you, you go to move but someone hits you hard on the back of the head making you crumple to the floor.
“Leave her be!” Thor growls throwing his hammer at the glass.
It breaks slightly but the mechanism that holds it faulters. You look over at Loki to see an evil grin on his face.
“The humans think us immortal” Loki smirks walking over to the control booth “should we test that?” He smirks.
“Loki no don’t!” You plead the agent behind you hitting you back down again.
Suddenly the agent falls to the ground beside you, glancing up through your hazy vision you see Agent Coulson stood with a large weapon.
“Step away please” Coulson asks politely.
Loki steps away hesitantly holding his hands up slightly.
“You like this? We started working on the prototype after you sent the destroyer” Coulson says stepping past you and walking closer to Loki.
“Even I don’t know what it does” Coulson says shrugging his shoulders, he powers up the weapon.
You glance back at Loki and even through the pain and your blurred vision you knew something wasn’t right. You felt sick to your stomach when you realised that Loki wasn’t holding the sceptre. It was another illusion.
“Loki no!” You shout but it was too late, you watched as Loki reappeared behind agent Coulson, stabbing him in the back.
Loki glances back over his shoulder at you before walking past Coulson back towards the controls. You shuffle over to Coulson putting pressure on his wound. Trying you best to keep him alive.
“Loki please stop” you beg through the tears as you watch him lift up the cover to the button that would drop Thor.
“I’d look away sister” Loki smirks, you glance back at Thor who looked like he’d almost accepted his fate.
You screamed as the cell dropped, watching in horror as your brother fell.
“Take that as a warning sister, I’ve spared you now, but I won’t if you follow” Loki warns you.
“You’re going to lose” Coulson coughs out.
“Am I?” Loki asks turning back towards you.
“It’s in your nature” Coulson tells him.
Loki scoff smiling down at the two of you “your heroes are scattered, your floating fortress falls from the sky. Where is my disadvantage?” He smirks.
“You lack conviction” Coulson says weakly.
“I don’t think I’m-“ Loki starts but he doesn’t get to finish as Coulson fires the weapon sending Loki flying out of the room.
“So that’s what it does” Coulson coughs.
“Okay you need to stay with me now! HELP WE NEED A MEDIC! HELP!” You call out.
Fury runs into the room finding you and Coulson on the floor. He takes over from you allowing you to drop back. Your body shakes as you sob. This was horrid. You watched one brother plummet to their potential death, while the other stabs a man right in front of you.

FATWS One Shot #2 - The Beginning of a Family
Word Count: 1804
Warnings: Cursing, Mentions of Human Trafficking (once, it was a mission Reader did), Minor Character Injury
Setting/Characters: The first half-ish of The Avengers in 2012; Reader, Steve Rogers, Nick Fury, Natasha Romanoff, Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, Thor, Mentions of Loki, Phil Coulson, and Clint Barton, OC!Agent Anderson
A/N: Here’s One Shot Number 2! I was thinking of making it longer and adding the actual Battle of Manhattan, but I dunno if I’m gonna do that. I just wanted these to be One Shots of first meetings and other smaller events. I didn’t want to do scene-for-scene two parters. If you want me to, I can, I don’t mind doing it, I just wasn’t planning on it. I’ve kinda been slacking today, which is why I haven’t cranked out more than this one, but I’ll see if I can finish one more for tonight. Tomorrow’s another late night for me at work, BUT! Tomorrow night FATWS comes out! So I will be doing the next Episode! I also don’t have Friday off this week, so the Parts might bleed into Saturday, but they will come this weekend!
Reminder that this has nothing to do with FATWS the show, but I don’t have a title for my FATWS Series, which is what these are based off of, so this is what they’re called for now! If you have any ideas for names, feel free to send them in! I’m just too lazy to come up with something clever for the whole Series.
Thank you so much for reading! As always, not beta’d so please excuse any mistakes! Be kind to yourselves and others! Stay tuned and enjoy!

You were exhausted, coming back from an assignment that lasted a little over two months. It’d been your first one since you were assigned to help Steve adjust, and you were guessing they’d keep you on desk duty for a few months before sending you back out again. Which frustrated you to no end.
But then you got back your personal cell phone from a fellow agent and, seeing you had a few  voicemails - which you never had - you flipped it on.
“Hi, Y/N.” Your lips turned up at the man you started growing close to over the past year. “I-I know you’re on a mission right now. I mean, you just left last week. Anyways, I just…I hope you’re doin’ okay. You probably won’t get this until later, but…still. I hope you’re safe. I, uh, I got that book. The one you were joking about me getting. The U.S. History for Dummies one. It goes farther back than I need to know, but I still read all of it. It helped. I wish you were here though. But I know you’re working. And that’s important. Um… I guess I’ll see you in a few months.”
The phone beeped before the next message played. “I took your advice. I got a sketchbook and some other stuff. There’s a ton of new supplies. I’m kinda excited to try them out. Maybe they’re not new but they’re more accessible now than they used to be. And I found a gym. In Brooklyn. It’s kinda run down - a hole in the wall type place - but they don’t do memberships and they don’t care how long you stay as long as you pay for your time. So that’s nice. I guess. Anyways…hi. I don’t think I said that earlier. It’s Steve, by the way. But you probably guessed that. Um…that’s all. I just wanted to let you know. Stay safe, honey. Abbyssinia.”
You listened to the next couple ones, all along the same lines. Steve telling you about his day; about the dog he was allowed to pet on his run or the different coffee he tried this morning at your previous suggestion. You snickered a little, shaking your head. You would never guessed that Hitler hitting, Nazi punching Captain America was so…soft. Cute.
His last voicemail was from earlier that morning, and it made her brow furrow. “Hey, honey. I, uh…God, I really wish you were here. I was told you’d be getting back last week, but then they said it might be another couple weeks because something happened? I hope nothing happened. Please be okay. I’ve really missed you. I know it’s only been a year, but…you’re the only familiar thing I have right now. I guess Fury was right to choose you since you were the first person I saw. There’s a, uh, problem. Fury’s got a mission for me. Some guy named Loki stole the Tesseract. Which was HYDRA’s secret weapon. That blue cube thing. I was just getting used to laptops and fast food and this…it’s just a lot. Overwhelming. You were always good at making things less intimidating. I’ve gotta go. Some SHIELD personnel are picking me up now. We’re going to…somewhere. I’m sure you would know, but they haven’t exactly told me. Hoping to see you soon, Y/N. Please be safe.”
You frowned at the information, looking up at one of your fellow agents, Anderson. “Hey.” He turned his head towards you from his conversation with the copilot. “Is something going on at HQ?”
“The Helicarrier.” Anderson corrected. “Fury just called it in. Something with the Tesseract. And some guy’s mind controlling people. He’s got Barton, apparently. The director is bringing a few people on board; Banner, Stark, Romanoff. Rogers, too, I heard. He wants you to be there ASAP, so we’re going there now.”
Letting out a sigh, you rubbed your eyes and nodded. “Alright. Let’s go see what’s going on.”
*************************
Fury met you as you walked off the jet, lugging your duffle bag over your shoulder. You were still in your clothes from the mission; a human trafficking ring in Guam. Dirty, torn up jeans along with a white tank top hugging your torso and a flannel, unbuttoned, over your shoulders. One of your sneakers had a hole in it, too, and you were walking with a slight limp from the dislocated kneecap you got a few days prior.
“Agent.” He nodded in greeting, passing you a file. “The others are waiting. We just brought in Loki.”
You chewed your cheek, narrowing your eyes as you scanned the information in the file. It had personal files of the others, but you didn’t need to look through those. You knew Natasha very well, considering she taught you half the things you know, along with Barton. You knew Stark - of course you did - especially after you helped set Natasha up to be his secretary a while back. Banner you were also knowledgeable about, seeing as you went undercover to find him when he first took off and had been part of the tracking team on him ever since. Thor you had learned about after his fiasco in New Mexico from Coulson. And, last but certainly not least, Steve Rogers, who you knew better than any file could explain.
“Walk me through this; Thor and Loki are the real Thor and Loki? Like, from Norse myths?”
“Apparently so. You know about the New Mexico incident with the two last year, don’t you?”
You nodded, pinching your lips together tightly. “Well, yeah, but I thought…I dunno. I guess it just didn’t click. So,” you tucked the file under your arm securely, raising an eyebrow at Fury. “We’re fighting a god? An actual god?”
“With an army of aliens.” He confirmed.
“Wonderful.” You huffed as the two of you turned a corner, making your way onto the bridge, just in time to hear Stark talking to Banner about him turning into the Hulk.
“Dr. Banner is only here to track the cube.” Fury butted in. You crossed your arms behind Fury, leaning on your good leg. “I was hoping you might join him. Before you do, this is-”
“Y/N! You’re back!”
You shot a grin to the blonde, who perked up upon seeing you. “Hi, Steve. Just in time, too, huh.” You nudged Natasha slightly. “Hey, Nat. Sorry about Clint.”
She shrugged. “I’m just glad you’re here to help.”
“I’m sorry.” You looked over to find Banner frowning contemplatively at you. “Do I know you?”
You opened your mouth to answer, but Fury beat you to it. “Formalities later. Y/L/N, we’ll bring you up to speed-”
“I’ll get there, sir. How are you boys planning on tracking down the Tesseract?” You questioned, nodding in the two geniuses’ direction.
“I’d start with that stick of his.” Steve suggested, turning to look at the duo as well. “It may be magical but it works an awful lot like a HYDRA weapon.”
“I don’t know about that, but it is powered by the Cube.” Fury stated. “And I’d like to know how Loki used it to turn two of the sharpest men I know into his personal flying monkeys.”
A tall, broad as hell blonde looked at Fury, confused. “Monkeys? I do not understand-”
“I do!” Steve jumped in, pointing at Thor, before leaning back in his seat at the silence that came after his exclamation. “I-I understood that reference.”
You chuckled and shook your head, winking at Steve when he smiled bashfully at you. As the two scientists - was Stark a scientist? - started heading out, Steve hopped up, padding over to you.
“You’re back early.”
“Late, technically.” You shrugged, letting him pull you in for a hug, your hand rubbing his back. “I got your calls.”
He pulled away, his ears turning red. “Oh, yeah. I, uhm-”
You sniggered. “It’s fine, Steve. You can call me whenever you need to. I’m just sorry I couldn’t answer you sooner.”
“You were working.” He shrugged half heartedly. “Did it go okay? Are you okay?”
“Yes, Steven. I’m fine.” You rolled your eyes just as a yawn threatened to escape your lips. “If not a little tired.” You tapped on the star against his chest. “Nice suit, by the way.”
“Ha ha.” He grinned, eyeing your own clothing. “You’re matching me.” He tugged on the red, white, and blue flannel hanging from your arms. “You also look like shit.”
You snorted. “Wow. What a gentleman. Let’s get this whole Loki situation over with so I can go to bed, yeah?”
He chuckled a little with a nod. “Sounds like a plan, honey.” The two of you started out of the bridge. “You should shower first, though.”
“You’re a bully, you know that?”
“I’m just sayin’!”
“I’m just sayin’!” You mocked with a huff. “Leave me be, Rogers.”
His laughter was cut short, making you look over at him curiously, only to find his slitted eyes studying your movements. “Why are you limping?”
“Relax, Captain. I just dislocated my knee. It’s fine. Shit happens on missions, you know that.”
“Is that why you came back late?”
Shaking your head, you lead him to one of the private rooms the Helicarrier had so you could shower and change. “No. I just needed a little more time. That’s all. Now let’s focus on the problem at hand. We can talk more later.”
He hesitated, leaning against the doorway and watching you set your bag on the small cot.  “Okay. As long as you’re alright.”
Your heart jumped a bit at the concern laced in his tone, the apprehension in those blue eyes - which you found out had some green in them - making your breath hitch slightly. “I am.” You spoke softly with a firm nod of your head, trying to assure him and his worries. “I promise.”
“I’m gonna go check on Banner and Stark, then. Come find me when you’re done.”
You cleared your throat to recover yourself, throwing him a cheeky grin. “Aye, aye, Captain.”
He rolled his eyes with a smile, before turning and walking out, leaving you alone and confused.
What was that? You’d never had that reaction to anything. Your heart doesn’t race whenever someone walks in the room. Not like it did with him. What the hell did that even mean?
You shook your head, clearing your throats. You didn’t have time to dwell on that now. You doubted it was anything more than a fluke. You were just tired and seeing someone familiar, who was genuinely excited to see you was like a breath of fresh air after your operation. That’s all. Yeah.
With that decided, you headed to the shower, head spinning with new thoughts of this problem with the God of Mischief and that stupid blue cube.

AVENGERS, ASSEMBLE - CH4: FLYING MONKEYS
Well I could be angry but you're not worth a fight And besides, I'm moving on I've counted to ten and I'm feeling alright And besides, I'm moving on
FEATURING: Tony Stark, Thor Odinson, Steve Rogers & Nick Fury WORD COUNT: 3,213 SERIES MASTERLIST: ★
Tumblr media
The quinjet felt a lot like a tin of sardines by the time you reached back down to retrieve the boys. Because on top of having awkward interactions at play, another God decided to join in the show and not only take Loki but fight with Steve and Tony. Almost everything that was going on was very much going wrong. Thankfully, something happened below ground that had them calling in for pick up. Though you weren’t sure what was said exactly, they still managed to destroy a couple of yards worth of forest in their “talking”. All you were thankful for, was that Loki wasn’t able to find a way to escape.
“So,” you said, sitting tight between Thor and Steve. “Are you like Zeus?” The God squinted his eyes at you, probably more curious at the fact that this was the first time you’ve spoken since the four entered back inside the jet. “I am..unaware of who that is.” he turned to face you better, it almost pushed you farther against Steve’s side. The two men had decided to sit on the seats on each side of you instead of spacing out. Why, you did not know.
“He’s kind of like lord of the sky. Sort of the God that’s a ruler. Uses thunder and stuff.” A bright beautiful smile glowed on his face. “Ohh! God of thunder, that’s me! Except, I am Thor, son of Odin.” A part of you wanted to tell him that you already knew him from the files that were made from the New Mexico incident, but the sincerity in his greeting had you stretching out your hand. Instead of a shake he turned it over and pressed a chaste kiss on the back of your hand. Steve stiffened up behind you.
“What is your name, little Lady?”
A very unneeded blush crept up on your cheeks and you took your hand back quickly. “You can call me Scout. Everyone does.” Tony let out a very loud scoff at that. Beside him was a very much annoyed and disgruntled Loki. The other God was dirtier from having been thrown around but came onto the jet with no lip. Even when it was Steve who locked him back in.
Apparently talking with Thor usually ended up being a lot like a Pandora’s box sort of deal. The man went on and on about himself including tidbits here and there about Loki. He also mentioned people like Jane Foster who he got very glowy about when you asked if they were close. It was like having a very energetic child tell you about their day and you did your best to not smile as much. The whole interaction felt entirely out of place to the severity of the situation and the awkwardness made you want to laugh.  All through the ride you did your best to ignore the two men who kept stealing glances at you. It was about an hour after that you arrived back on the helicarrier.
A large group of SHIELD agents took Loki away. The rest of you left to follow after him as he was led to his holding cell. Something about the way he smirked at you before he was whisked off left a bad feeling in your gut. For a man who was foiled of his plans, he sure did seem amused. Steve kept a steady pace beside you, he hadn’t even looked at you since you got off the jet and you wanted to try and speak with him. Something felt off and you didn’t want to leave things like that. But before you could do anything, a metal hand gripped at your forearm, stopping you from continuing back to the main room.
“I’d say it’s time for our talk now, Sprout.”
Tumblr media
Tony had eventually dragged you down to storage, a large area had been set aside for him to store up his suit. While he changed out of his armor and into a nicer suit, you dragged over a smaller storage box and took a seat. The story of everything you had been doing these past few years was pretty simple. The reason behind it all caused a glare to form on his face. Probably feeling guilty about it all but you hoped that your excitement for your work was enough for him to understand better. A look of amusement soon formed on his face, sort of like he was lost in his thoughts. When he finally looked over at you again, he chuckled softly.
“Shit, kid. You’re like me!”
“Like you could handle espionage, Tony.” Of course he would think of a way to bring your new life story and turn it around to something about him. For all you knew, Tony relied heavily on JARVIS for any actual data work. Just ignore the fact that he created the AI in the first place. “I meant, Sprout, you’re off doing things the old man would have hated. I love it.”
He stepped over and took a seat on the edge of the crate next to you. “I knew you had something special in you. Just didn’t think it’d be something like hacking.” His hand reached out for yours and started to inspect all over you. For a moment you thought he thought you might have been hurt. “Tony, what the hell are you doing?” you grumbled and pushed his hands away.
“I’m checking for any dragon tattoos.”
You laughed for a second before you got up and paced the room. He watched you quietly, allowing for whatever had come up in your mind to be brought back. “I have to know,” you started, keeping your walk. “When you came onto the jet earlier...you didn’t look the least surprised to see me there. Why?” Tony simply crossed his leg, hands placed on his knees. Surely, he was putting together whatever it was he wanted you to hear. But you hoped that at this point in life, he’d give you the honest answer right away for once. No more finding things out  later.
“If you’re asking if I knew you were doing all this little work as Fury’s own version of Trinity, then no I did not.” He pulled out his phone and stood up from the bin to show it over at you. Taking it, you swiped across the screens of all the files he had stored in. Images and files of you, Nat, Clint, Steve, Bruce, and even the two Asgardians appeared on the screen. Still unsure what he meant by that, you nodded for him to continue on.
“A couple of days before Loki’s capture, Good ol’ Agent Coulson paid me a little visit to Stark tower. You know, that magnificent specimen I’m renovating?” You rolled your eyes and continued to look at the data he had compiled. “They asked me to join their little group again and while I was hesitant at first, they gave me files of who would be on that team. So when I saw your cute face on there I knew joining would be the right decision. That, and well, I’d be kind of dumb not to get a good look at that cube.”
He watched you closely, your headache still annoyed you, but not as much as his worried staring. “How long was a couple of days ago?” you asked quietly. He reached over and took the phone back, sliding it into his pocket. “I’d say about almost a week? Took me a bit to gather up a couple of things I needed for the trip.” You had only accepted the mission about three days ago. Meaning that not only had Fury considered you already in the mission, but he relied on your acceptance.
“So you’re the reason why they insisted I join.” you sighed, a knot in your stomach competed now against the headache you had since earlier. “Now I guess that’s why my clearance wasn’t so much of an issue. Not when they needed you to be here.” Tony awkwardly rubbed his neck. Surely he caught on to what he meant by now. A tear slipped past your eyes before you could control it. Great, not only did Tony realize with you that you were being used, but he got to see you cry. Like the child you know he saw you as. “This day keeps getting better and better.”
“If that’s what they intended for you here, the answer is really simple. You gotta prove to them your worth.” he said finally. He reached inside his coat pocket and pulled out a small box and placed it on your hand. “You’re obviously like me and too over qualified. Not to mention, if you’re working for them they’re severely under paying you. Starks are way more worth the average salary.”
You opened up the box and stared down, confused as you looked at two red and gold comms links. “Tony, I already have one.” you muttered taking one out. He reached over for the other one and pressed it into his ear. “This one isn’t linked to a private network with your two favorites.” You pushed the other one into your ear.
“Miss Stark it’s a pleasure to have you join in on our communications.”
A smile tugged at your lips and pressed into your ear. His calming voice did wonders for the nerves that began to run through you currently. “JARVIS, it’s really good to hear from you.”
Tony smiled with you now and took your hands. “I need you to trust me, being here and working with you is gonna be a blast. But there’s something in me itching to figure out what Fury is so desperate for. Especially now that I know he’s tricked you into the games of all this.” He held his palm out and flexed his palms for you to hand over your phone. After doing so, you watched him hack into your device and allow a better link for JARVIS to come in. “For now, let’s see exactly what they want from us.”
He led the two of you out from storage and onto the elevators. You took that time to think of what you could say to Steve now that you’d have a moment to speak with him. Which made you worry about also telling Tony some things. “I can’t be a Stark right now.” you muttered at him. The words felt wrong coming out of your mouth. You didn’t hate who you were and hoped that Tony would understand why. “I’m just Scout to everyone here and I think that’s all I’d rather be known by now. So please, no more Sprout or any other nicknames or even my name to be honest. I’m not ready for that. Not when I’m just barely establishing myself here.”
There was a moment of silence before Tony replied. “I’m a cool guy. I can work with all this.” he tried saying it nonchalantly. But his reflection on the doors showed a bit of hurt on his face. “I’ll be regular cool Tony Stark who so happens to know you. That's cool for your little back story, Neo?” Turning to face him you gave him a look before you laughed. “That’s cool with me, Tony. But you better take a break on the names. I think you’re running out of hackers to call me.”
The doors slid open to a very tired but happy looking Coulson. He seemed pleased to have you two finally come back up. Immediately the two boys began to talk, mostly Tony doing his best to convince Coulson to take a vacation. Thor who was previously aggravated when you came in threw you a small but warm smile as you followed after Tony. You grew lost in your thoughts, worried about the fact that now not only were you aware of being tricked to join, but who else helped convince you. The large table had only two people seated. Steve, who had barely glanced at your entrance and Natasha, who only kept her stare at you.
For sure you knew Steve had no part in this considering you had been one of the people who tried to convince him to join. But he was off with you and you couldn’t figure out why just yet. Then there was Natasha, who didn’t have a play in this but seemingly was well aware of your instincts about it from the moment you stepped onto the helicarrier but didn’t feel like telling you of what she might know. Needing the space, you choose to sit right down the middle. Your eyes forward and focused only on Tony as he examined everything.
It didn’t take him long to begin showboating. He couldn’t really help himself, honestly. Things like that were just second nature to him. You wanted to give him props considering that he managed to get everyone annoyed so well that he placed a hacking chip onto one of Fury’s monitors. He caught your eyes and gave a bit of a smirk before he continued on. It was when the man in question stepped in that you were pulled from your thoughts.
“Dr. Banner is only here to track the Cube. I was hoping you might join him.”
“I would start with that stick of his. It may be magical, but it works an awful lot like a HYDRA weapon.”
You glanced over as Steve talked, wondering what power could the sceptre really hold. “I don’t know about that, but it is powered by the Cube. And I would like to know how Loki used it to turn two of the sharpest men I know into his personal flying monkeys.” Thor begins to stir and you feel bad about how confusing this must all be for him. He really had to come in quick to try and pick up his brother’s mess.
“Monkeys? I do not understand.”
“I do! I understood that reference.”
Steve glanced over to your side and you could not stop the genuine smile that spread over your lips. He was being incredibly cute right now. He still looked at the group with such innocence about his statement that you didn’t notice Fury approach beside you.
“Come with me for a moment, Agent.”
Tumblr media
The two of you didn’t walk too far off, he mostly led you towards an empty hall away from any peering eyes. “So, I’m going to go ahead and assume you and your brother have put two and two together on things.” he didn’t sound sorry, he didn’t even sound remorseful. The tone that Fury spoke with was of a man making sure how to set up his next move. Calculated and cautious. He faced you slowly, looking at you hesitantly.
“We did, a bit too late for my taste.”
He nodded his head. “I’m not going to sugarcoat this, Agent. I did need you here to convince Tony to join. I knew it would be the final piece I needed. I trust that you would believe me from what I said before. Some get better through training, some through action. You are the latter.” You stared back at him, trying not to let your emotions show in all this.
He still looked angry but you could see a hint of softness in his voice. “I hope you understand that I don’t exactly have time to coddle you and make you feel better. I trust that after this you’ll move on and work if you so choose to stay. Time is still of the essence. If you’re feeling like you can’t handle it, I can arrange for transportation to return you back to the academy. Alone.”
The tired part of you wanted to say yes. But leaving the team and even your first mission, tricked or not, left a terrible feeling in your gut. “I’d like to continue my stay here, Sir. I’d like to continue helping as best as I can.” A content hum was all you heard for a second before you turned your heel to leave. He quickly gripped your forearm before you could take a step. “I do think you are capable of a lot of things, Scout. Including this. There was just too much at stake and if you’re staying I’ll consider this a big step up in your ranks.”
You figured that was the best of an apology you were going to get from him and nodded your head. “Thank you, Sir.”
At that, he let you go and you rushed down the hall back to the main room. By now everyone had dispersed into their own groups. For a moment you debated on what you should do next when a gentle hand on your shoulder caught your attention.
“Can we talk?”
So there you were, back in the same empty hallway again, this time with Steve. Only unlike Fury’s hesitance, Steve had more of a questioning look. The same kind he had when he first met you. “So,” he said slowly. “I feel like there’s some things I should know about you.” You crossed your arms and leaned back against the wall.
“Well, what is it you’d like to know?”
“For starters, what was it that Fury wanted to talk to you about?”
“He wanted to speak with me about my assignment.” You said honestly. Steve’s brows furrowed together. “About working with me?” Frustration began to fill you. Having him not trust you again like the other day didn’t make you feel good. “No,” you sighed, looking into his eyes. “The assignment I wasn’t even aware of.” He looked at you confused so you continued on. “The assignment was to join the mission so that Tony would join.”
“Okay, so that brings me to my next question. Are you and Tony Stark..um together?”
A gag fell from your mouth before you could compose a better reaction. Steve’s eyes grew wide and he reached out to grip onto your arm. “NO.” you huffed. “I am in no way together with Tony. God, what a horrible image.” Your body shuddered and you took a moment to relax before you pulled Steve close. His breath was a bit shaky at it and you could smell a hint of his cologne. You checked the halls at both ends and waited a second for anyone to come. When you did hear footsteps, you dragged Steve with you into the nearest door and pushed him inside.
You reached for the light pad that was by the door. The room hummed to life as the lights turned on. Thankfully you were in an empty supply closet and not in someone’s office. Steve by now was red in the face and neck as he looked anywhere in the room but you. “Sorry about that. I just can’t risk a lot of people hearing me.”
“What are you going to tell me?” he said softly. You felt nervous about telling him. Not really sure how he’d take knowing he was becoming friends with someone who was Howard’s daughter. Already he was incredibly stiff and awkward with Tony and you didn’t want anything to change between the two of you.
“I’m Tony’s sister.”
“So that means you’re..-”
“Yes, I’m Howard’s daughter.”

Loki Series Rewrite (AKA Loki Series But With Squirrel Girl) Ep 3
INT. TVA - DAY
Loki is attacking Sylvie. Suddenly, Doreen enters and rushes up to them.
DOREEN
Loki, catch!
She tosses him a prune stick. Loki takes it and he starts fighting Sylvie with her. During the battle, Doreen manages to overpower Sylvie and tackle her to the ground. Doreen holds her knuckle spikes to Sylvie's throat, but Sylvie twists her arm and kicks Loki's prune stick away. Sylvie then kicks Doreen's face and grabs Loki. Doreen freezes when she sees Sylvie is holding a dagger to Loki's throat. Just then, Ravonna and several other agents enter.
SYLVIE
Come any closer, and I'll kill him.
RAVONNA
Go for it.
Doreen glares at her. Before she can attack, Loki whips out his tem-pad, causing himself and Sylvie to disappear.
We cut to later, when Mobius, Ravonna, and Doreen are standing where Loki and Sylvie vanished.
DOREEN
(to Ravonna)
Thanks for nothing.
RAVONNA
I called her bluff. I knew she wasn't going to do it.
DOREEN
Yeah. Sure.
MOBIUS
Where the hell did they go?
DOREEN
You don't know?
MOBIUS
Loki took the tem-pad with him. We can't find his location if we don't have it.
(He groans in frustration.)
That bastard! He directly disobeyed me! I knew I shouldn't have trusted him!
DOREEN
He probably just wanted to know what was going on! Look, I can find him with-
(She takes out her Loki locket, only to see that it is broken.)
Shit...
MOBIUS
What?
DOREEN
This thing must've gotten damaged in the fight.
MOBIUS
Can't you just fix it?
DOREEN
It's not that simple. Thor let me borrow parts of rare Asgardian technology to build this. They were some of the last parts they had, so I would have to go back in time to Asgard to get more. And... I have no idea where I would even begin to start looking there.
Mobius sighs.
MOBIUS
Alright, look, I'll search through our files on Asgard to see what I can find. In the meantime, just try to salvage what you can, and don't dilly-dally. Every moment those variants are on the loose, we're all in danger.
INT. TVA OFFICE - DAY
Doreen is trying to work on the locket to no avail. She slams it down and sighs. Just then, her squirrel Monkey Joe hops up on the table, carrying spare parts. He sets them down and squeaks at her.
DOREEN
No... Those won't work, Monkey Joe. We need gear that can navigate through both space and time.
Looking dejected, Monkey Joe lets out a few sad squeaks. Doreen pets him and gives him an almond as consolation.
DOREEN
I know, buddy, you tried your best...
Doreen's other squirrels, Tippy-Toe and Mr. Lieberman join Monkey Joe to eat pieces of the almond. Just then, CASEY turns around and peers at the squirrels in horror.
CASEY
What are those?
(Beat)
DOREEN
Um, almonds? Want some?
CASEY
No, the... things eating them...
Doreen raises an eyebrow.
DOREEN
They're squirrels.
CASEY
"Squirrels?"
DOREEN
What, you've never seen a squirrel before?
CASEY
No... I've spent my whole life here, so I've never seen any animals at all.
Doreen looks mortified.
DOREEN
That's the saddest thing I've ever heard in my life...
INT. TVA LIBRARY - DAY
Mobius is looking through various old books on shelves. He pauses when he flips through a book that has Asgardian writing and a map of Asgard.
INT. TVA OFFICE - DAY
Doreen is showing Casey pictures of different types of squirrels on her phone as Casey looks on in wonder.
DOREEN
So, this here is a red squirrel. I just love their little pointy ears! Ooh, and these ones are extra rare: The Japanese flying squirrel! Look at their beady little eyes! And their fluffy tail! You can only find these in one island on all of Earth!
CASEY
Wow... That's amazing!
Just then, Mobius walks in.
MOBIUS
Doreen!
Doreen quickly slams her phone down.
DOREEN
Uhhh, yes, sir, we are hard at work!
She does an awkward salute. Mobius frowns at her.
MOBIUS
I found this book in our library.
(He flips to a page that has a drawing of Odin's treasure room with a description written in Asgardian.)
This look familiar?
Doreen frowns as she peers at the book.
DOREEN
This is all in Asgardian. I can't read it.
MOBIUS
Forget the text; look at the picture.
He points to a section of the drawing where several golden parts are stored in the treasure room. Doreen's eyes widen.
DOREEN
Oh my God... I think that's it!
Mobius grins.
MOBIUS
Yeah? You think you could go get it if I sent you to Asgard, say, a couple decades in the past?
DOREEN
Sure, I mean... All I would have to do is find Odin's treasure room... wherever that is, somehow break in, get the parts, and then, by some miracle, get out undetected, and then we're home free!
MOBIUS
Easy!
DOREEN
Easy!
(She pats him on the back.)
Good job, Moby! I might need a change of clothes, though.
MOBIUS
What's wrong with your clothes?
DOREEN
I mean, I can't just walk into Asgard like this; I'd stick out like a sore thumb!
Mobius sighs.
MOBIUS
Alright, I'll see if we have any old stuff from the Asgardian variants we've taken in. But study that book and maybe try to come up with a halfway coherent plan for sneaking in. I'll set the portal to send you back to the same moment in time once you're done, so you can take however long you need to look for the parts. But don't use that as an excuse to sight-see!
He chuckles under his breath as he walks away.
MOBIUS
"Moby"...
INT. LAMENTIS-1 TRAIN - NIGHT
Loki and Sylvie are chatting on the train.
SYLVIE
How about you? You're a prince! Must've been... would-be princesses. Or, perhaps, another prince?
LOKI
A bit of both. I suspect, the same as you. But nothing ever...
SYLVIE
Real.
LOKI
Hmm.
(Beat)
SYLVIE
What about your mortal girl? What was her name? Doreen?
Loki raises an eyebrow.
SYLVIE
She seems nice.
LOKI
Oh, I'm sure she'd appreciate that, coming from the person who practically kicked her face in.
SYLVIE
Hey, when she's on the run, a girl's got to do what a girl's got to do.
LOKI
And, no, she's... just an acquaintance.
Sylvie raises an eyebrow and smirks.
INT. ASGARD PALACE, 1960 - NIGHT
Doreen enters the palace through a portal in a pretty, albeit slightly ill-fitting blue Asgardian dress, with her hair done up like all the other noble ladies. As she wanders around, she spots a crowd of noble ladies in ballgowns chatting and laughing while they walk. She tries to inconspicuously join the group, when a MAID calls out to her.
MAID
Um, pardon me, my lady?
Doreen freezes to see if the maid is talking to her.
MAID
Do you not have something to wear for tonight?
DOREEN
I... Um... Well, I was just going to wear this... very Asgardian dress...
MAID
Do you... have anything a little more formal? I trust you haven't forgotten that the ball is tonight?
DOREEN
Uh... Right... Yes... Of course... Um...
MAID
We have some spare dresses if you'd like to borrow one. I'm sure the queen wouldn't mind.
Doreen hesitates for a moment.
DOREEN
A-alright... Thank you.
She follows the maid into a corridor.
INT. CHANGING ROOM - MOMENTS LATER
Doreen sits in front of a mirror while the maid styles her hair. She has a layer of light, pretty makeup on her face.
MAID
Have you decided which dress you'd like, my lady?
DOREEN
Oh... I liked the green one.
The maid raises an eyebrow.
MAID
Are we... hoping for something?
DOREEN
Wh-what do you mean?
MAID
Well, if you're wearing the colors of Prince Loki, some might think you were... trying to get his attention.
(Beat)
DOREEN
W-will he be there?
MAID
He should. I must warn you that he detests these types of social events, though. At last winter's ball, he projected an illusion of himself in the ballroom to make it seem like he was present when he was really in his room reading books the whole night.
Doreen grins.
MAID
Shall I help you put on your dress?
DOREEN
(Lost in thought)
Yeah...
(Her head shoots up as she comes back to her senses.)
U-uh, I mean, no! No, no, no! I... I can do it myself...
INT. ASGARDIAN BALLROOM, 1960 - NIGHT
Loki is standing off to the side while Thor, Sif, and the Warriors Three talk and drink. They are all dressed in their outfits from 2011 Thor. Thor downs a mug of ale.
THOR
Another!
He smashes his drink on the ground and Loki rolls his eyes. Thor approaches him and claps him on the back - a little too hard. Loki grunts and gives him an irritated look.
THOR
Come on, brother... You could at least try to have a little fun!
Loki scoffs.
LOKI
Watching every maiden in the palace fawn over you and Fandral is not my idea of fun.
Thor laughs.
THOR
Loki... Must you be so down? You can't spend all your time shut up in your room reading all those books and doing your little magic spells.
LOKI
Why not? I'd infinitely prefer it to this.
Before Thor can say another word, Loki walks off. A SERVANT approaches him, carrying a tray with a goblet of wine on it.
SERVANT
Some wine, your highness?
Loki eagerly takes the goblet and drinks it, nearly downing the entire thing in one swig. He freezes when he sees something in the distance.
We pan up the staircase as we see Doreen descending down it, wearing an elegant green and gold dress. Her hair is done up in an intricate braid, with golden ornaments adorning it. She looks around the ballroom nervously, peering at different corridors in an attempt to find the treasure room. Never taking his eyes off her, Loki sets the goblet down on a table nearby and walks off-screen.
As Doreen makes her way across the ballroom, Tippy-Toe suddenly scurries off to a table where grapes and nuts are laid out.
DOREEN
Tippy!
(She rushes after her.)
We're supposed to be keeping a low profile!
Tippy-Toe gives her a pleading look and a few squeaks. Doreen sighs.
DOREEN
Alright, fine. But just one.
She hands Tippy-Toe a macadamia nut. As the squirrel eats her treat, we suddenly hear Loki's voice behind them. Startled, Doreen whirls around.
LOKI
As much as I'm sure your friend is pleasant company, the kitchen staff might not take kindly to seeing a rodent on the refreshment table.
Tippy-Toe cocks her head and gives him an inquisitive squeak. Loki smiles at her.
LOKI
No offense.
DOREEN
Ah... Y-You're right, um... Tippy, why don't you go eat that outside? I'll catch up with you later.
Tippy-Toe squeaks and runs off with her nut. Nervously wringing her hands, Doreen glances back at Loki, who smiles at her.
DOREEN
So, um... Are you... actually here this time, or is this just another one of your creepy illusions?
Loki smiles and extends his hand to her.
LOKI
Perhaps you should find out for yourself.
After hesitating for a moment, Doreen gingerly places her hand in his. Loki kisses the back of her hand, causing her to blush.
LOKI
I'm terribly sorry; I don't believe I caught your name?
DOREEN
U-um... Doreen.
LOKI
Well, Lady Doreen... Would you care for a dance?
DOREEN
Huh? O-oh, I, um... I-I don't... really know how...
LOKI
It's easy! I'll teach you! Here...
(He leads her into the center of the ballroom, where other couples are dancing.)
Just step forward like this... Then back... Right... Left...
Doreen glances nervously around the room as he leads her into a waltz.
LOKI
You don't have to watch what everyone else is doing; just follow my lead...
(Beat)
You're, um... You're stepping on my foot.
DOREEN
Oh, sorry!
They continue to chat as they dance.
LOKI
You know, I'm surprised a noble lady like yourself never learned to dance.
DOREEN
Oh, well, um... I don't... really like going to parties very much.
LOKI
Ah. I don't either, to be honest.
DOREEN
Then how'd you get to be so good at dancing? Are all the girls lining up to dance with the youngest prince of Asgard?
Loki laughs, embarrassed.
LOKI
Ah.... N-no, not exactly... That's... more Thor's forte. I... mostly learned from dancing with my mother.
Doreen grins.
DOREEN
Aww...
Loki laughs.
(Beat)
LOKI
You're stepping on my foot again.
DOREEN
Ack!
She takes her foot off of his.
LOKI
You know, I'm starting to think you're doing this on purpose.
DOREEN
I'm not!
After a pause, she grins devilishly and stomps on his foot, causing him to yelp in surprise.
DOREEN
Okay, maybe that was on purpose.
They both laugh. Doreen glances at his helmet.
DOREEN
That helmet looks... comfortable.
LOKI
Oh, it is.
DOREEN
Yeah, I don't believe you.
LOKI
Well, it only weighs about 30 pounds, give or take. It's like wearing a feather.
They both snicker.
DOREEN
Doesn't it ever throw you off balance?
LOKI
Not once you get used to it. You should try wearing it sometime. I'm sure you'd love it.
Doreen grins, laughing to herself.
DOREEN
Yeah, I'm sure...
LOKI
I, um... I must ask... Did you... wear green tonight deliberately? It is my favorite color, after all.
DOREEN
Oh, really? I never would've been able to tell!
They both laugh.
DOREEN
No, it, um... It's actually my favorite color, too, so...
LOKI
Ah.
DOREEN
Is that, like, something people actually do? I mean... wearing certain colors to get people to notice them?
LOKI
Well, sometimes, yes. I... admit, I... actually tried it once myself.
DOREEN
Oh yeah?
LOKI
A few years ago, there was a prince visiting from Vanaheim that I was... rather taken with. It was known that he loved silver, so I thought if I wore silver armor, I might... endear myself to him.
DOREEN
Did it work?
LOKI
(laughing)
No.
DOREEN
Well... I think you look better in green, anyway.
We cut to Thor standing with ODIN and FRIGGA on the far side of the ballroom, watching Loki and Doreen.
THOR
Mother, who is that Loki is dancing with?
FRIGGA
I'm not sure... I don't believe I've ever seen her around the palace before...
ODIN
Neither have I. I would wager she's merely the daughter of a poor social climber trying to pass himself off as a noble. Nothing to concern yourself with.
Thor grins as Odin walks off-screen.
THOR
Well, Loki seems to be finally enjoying himself...
They watch Loki twirl Doreen around as she giggles, her face flushed red. Frigga laughs.
FRIGGA
That's the first time I've seen him smile all day...
As they continue to dance, Doreen grows more nervous, suddenly unable to meet Loki's gaze, which never leaves her face. At one point, Loki places his hands around her waist and pulls her closer to him, causing her to tremble slightly. After hesitating, she gently places her hands on his shoulders. He smiles as the orchestra finishes playing.
DOREEN
How did I do?
LOKI
You're a fast learner. I'm impressed.
They smile at each other.
EXT. ASGARDIAN COURTYARD - NIGHT
Loki and Doreen chat as they walk through the garden in the palace courtyard, with Doreen drinking a cocktail in an elegant glass.
LOKI
I apologize if I come off as um... well, stiff... I have to admit this sort of thing is... well, it's rather new for me. I was never really very social growing up... Everyone always admired Thor for his physical strength, and, well... My own talents of magic and intellect are far less revered. The only friends I ever had, I met through Thor.
DOREEN
If it makes you feel any better, I didn't have any friends as a kid.
Loki raises an eyebrow.
LOKI
Not any?
Doreen shakes her head.
LOKI
Well, I... certainly wish we'd met sooner, then.
(Beat)
DOREEN
Yeah, me too.
LOKI
It's certainly never easy being an outcast... I've spent my whole life living in Thor's shadow... I know my father wishes I were more like him and his friends, but... All the brawn and muscle... It's just not who I am. I'm not like them.
DOREEN
Yeah, and, I mean, I'm sure being a frost giant and all must make you feel different, too...
Loki frowns.
LOKI
I beg your pardon?
Doreen's eyes widen, and she almost chokes on her drink.
DOREEN
U-Uh... I-I mean, um... Hypothetically speaking, if someone were... secretly a frost giant living in Asgard, that would... make them feel different, but, you know, that... wouldn't happen... ever...
She lets out a nervous laugh and sets her drink down on a nearby table as Loki blinks in confusion.
DOREEN
Anyways... What are you plans for the future if you're not first in line for the throne?
LOKI
I'm... not sure, to be honest. My parents thought I could gain some title of power by marrying me off to some other royal family, but I... don't think that's going to happen.
DOREEN
I guess it's too bad things didn't work out with that Vanaheim prince, then.
LOKI
Well, actually, I'm... rather glad they didn't now.
DOREEN
Why?
(Beat)
LOKI
Because now I've met you.
Doreen freezes and glances at him in surprise. He gives her a gentle smile in return. For a moment, she looks inexplicably happy, but once her senses return to her, her face falls and she backs away from him. Loki frowns.
LOKI
Is... something wrong?
DOREEN
I... I have to go...
LOKI
If... If I've said something wrong, I-
DOREEN
N-no! No, it's not... I... I'm sorry...
Before he can say another word, she runs away.
EXT. ASGARDIAN FOUNTAIN - MOMENTS LATER
Doreen splashes her face with water from a fountain on the other side of the courtyard, trying to pull herself together. Suddenly, Tippy-Toe runs up to her and squeaks at her.
DOREEN
Right... Parts...
INT. ODIN'S TREASURE ROOM - MOMENTS LATER
Sneaking around corridors, Doreen finally finds the entrance to Odin's treasure room, which is protected by two guards.
DOREEN
(Whispering)
Okay, Tippy, you distract them while I sneak up on them from behind.
Tippy-Toe salutes, runs up to the guards, and starts playing with their armor while squeaking at them.
GUARD #1
What the-?! What is that?!
GUARD #2
It appears to be some type of squirrel...
Guard #1 tries flicking Tippy-Toe off his armor.
GUARD #1
Shoo! Begone, creature!
(He turns to the other guard.)
Do you think it's Ratatoskr?
GUARD #2
No, you fool! Ratatoskr has a horn!
Before they can say another word, Doreen strikes them both from behind. They try to attack her, but she expertly knocks them both out in one punch.
DOREEN
(to Tippy-Toe)
Let's go.
She and Tippy-Toe enter the treasure room, scanning the area for the parts. Doreen frowns in confusion when she sees Odin's fake infinity gauntlet, but is quickly distracted by the golden parts in a chest in the far end of the room.
DOREEN
Got it!
She tries picking up the parts, but as soon as she does, a shield of magic blocks the exit.
DOREEN
Oh, that's not good...
She hears footsteps and guards' voices rushing towards the treasure room. Moving quickly, she jumps up to the ceiling and kicks down the mechanism creating the shield.
DOREEN
Tippy, we gotta run!
Hiding in corridors, they slip past the guards and escape to the outside of the palace. Doreen grabs her tem-pad and opens a portal. Before she returns to the TVA, she catches a glimpse of Loki's silhouette in the distance walking around. For a moment, he seems to be looking for something, but he soon sits down on a bench, defeated, and looks at the other party guests in the distance. Squeezing her eyes shut, Doreen turns away and places a reset charge on the ground. As she and Tippy go through the portal, the reset charge disintegrates the area.
INT. TVA - DAY
Doreen and Tippy-Toe rush through the portal, causing Doreen to nearly run into Mobius, who raises an eyebrow.
DOREEN
I got the parts.
MOBIUS
I... can see that. Are you okay? What's with the getup?
DOREEN
I'm fine - There was a ball going on, so I just had to change to blend in...
(Beat)
I should... get started on fixing the locket.
Before Mobius can stop her, she rushes to another room.
INT. TVA OFFICE - DAY
Still in her ballgown, Doreen is busying inserting the parts into the locket. Mobius enters.
MOBIUS
I, uh... saw the footage of Asgard...
Doreen grits her teeth and says nothing.
MOBIUS
So... you... like Loki, huh? Gotta say, I wasn't expecting that...
DOREEN
I really don't want to talk about this.
MOBIUS
Does he know?
DOREEN
Uh, no, he doesn't, and I'd like to keep it that way.
MOBIUS
Well, I mean... I'd be lying if I said I thought you weren't an odd pair, but I guess I can see it...
Doreen clenches her jaw and ignores him.
MOBIUS
I just don't see why you're all upset over it...
Doreen slams the locket down.
DOREEN
Because! I'm gonna live, what? 80, 90 years max? Maybe a hundred if I'm lucky? That's a fraction of Loki's life! Why would he ever pay any attention to me?! If that Loki from the past knew I was just a human, he wouldn't have taken a second glance at me!
Realizing she is losing her composure, she tries to focus back on fixing the locket.
After a moment, Mobius sits down next to her.
MOBIUS
You know, I've studied Loki's entire life. I thought I understood everything there was to know about him. But you... you stumped me. If Loki knew he was going to die at the hands of Thanos, why did he trust you to be the one to bring him back to life? And then, it hit me... It's because he knows you're different. He knows that you know what it's like to be an outcast. He could sense it, just from meeting you, that you would be the first stranger he ever met that wouldn't see him as an enemy.
After a pause, Doreen shakes her head.
DOREEN
Even if I could believe that... it wouldn't matter. I'm never going to live long enough to be a part of his life.
(Beat)
MOBIUS
You know, when you've worked at the TVA for as long as I have, you tend to get a bit of a perspective on these types of things. Doreen... It's not about how much time we have... It's what we do with our time while we have it that matters. And you may not believe me, but I know you've made a difference in his life. You never doubted him, even when you had every right to. And that's always going to stick with him, even long after you're gone.
Doreen looks down and says nothing. After a moment, Mobius stands up.
MOBIUS
Well... make of it what you will. I'm gonna go ask the other agents if they've found any leads-
Suddenly, the locket clicks open.
DOREEN
It's fixed!
(She hands it to Mobius.)
Here, let that charge at a good power source for a little bit. Once it's at 100%, you should be able to see where Loki is.
MOBIUS
Okay, great. We'll get a task force ready to go get him.
DOREEN
Can I come?
MOBIUS
Ravonna would rather you stay here. She doesn't want a non-variant being put at an unnecessary risk.
Doreen's face falls, but she nods. Mobius exits. Doreen sits back at a computer and starts to look through files. She comes across a tab that reads "AGENT PROFILES", but when she tries to access it, she gets a message that reads "ERROR: RESTRICTED". Glancing over her shoulder, she checks to make sure no one else is in the room and begins typing.
INT. RAVONNA'S OFFICE - DAY
As Ravonna sits at her desk, she receives a holographic message that reads "WARNING: DATA BREACH DETECTED". She clenches her jaw.
INT. TVA OFFICE - MOMENTS LATER
Doreen is reading files on her computer. As she continues to read, her eyes widen, with her expression growing more and more horrified. Suddenly, she turns back to the door.
DOREEN
Mobius?!
When there is no response, she tries to exit the room and follow after Mobius, but a gate of lasers suddenly blocks her path. As she glances at it, confused, Ravonna opens a portal into the room and strikes her from behind, knocking her out.
SYLVIE SMIRKS ‘CAUSE SHE KNOWS HE LYIN
So yeah, I took a lot of inspiration for the ballroom scene from the Laendler scene from The Sound of Music. I imagined Loki and Doreen’s relationship being a lot like The Captain and Maria, ‘cause I’m a huge sucker for the hardened grouch going soft for the innocent, lighthearted dreamer trope lol :P
I also listened to the song “When the Night is Over” by Lord Huron a lot when writing that scene. It’s very sad and haunting if you think of it as Loki’s POV after Doreen runs away.
Finally, I am officially dubbing the Doreen x Loki pairing “Dorki”, and I shall henceforth be tagging these posts as such!

We’re almost a week into 2021! How are you all? Ready for another movie?
I wanted to try something different tonight, hope you all enjoy!
Tumblr media
Kubo and the two strings
A young boy with one eye goes on a magical adventure, seeking three pieces of armour to protect himself from his grandfather, who wants to steal his other eye.
Peter was just a baby when Dormammu, Stephen’s father, ripped out one of his eyes.
Tony told Stepen to flee, to protect their son and that only his magic could keep him safe.
And that’s what Stephen does, managing to protect Peter from one last bolt of dark magic that was intended for his son, falling through the portal as blood drips down his face.
But that doesn’t stop him from crawling to the bundle wrapped in his cloak and crying.
Finding sanctuary in an old village, Stephen raises the boy as best he can, keeping him away from the thousand eye gaze of the night sky and telling him stories about his father and the incredible armour he wore and used to protect them.
About Thor and his axe and the Captain and his shield, and how the three combined vanquished many foes.
As Peter grows over the years, he starts displaying magical powers of his own, and Stephen tries to help him harness it, but there is only so much he can do.
Peter takes his abilities into the town they live outside of, telling people the stories he was raised on by using his powers to magically fold origami to move and fight and dance, creating the armoured man he calls Tony, the hero of his stories.
As his story reaches its climax, the bell tolls, and Peter knows he’s not meant to be out after dark.
He hurries back home, just as his father wakes up from his almost comatose state, a horrible side effect of the dark magic used on him that has slowly been eating away at his memory over the years.
He spends the night telling Peter another story about Tony and the Avengers, but can’t remember how it ends.
It’s gone.
Much like most of his memories.
But he does remember to warn Peter about never staying out late, to always year the cloak of levitation even though it can’t levitate anymore, and to always carry around the small monkey charm for protection.
Peter goes back to the town the next day, watching the celebrations for a festival the people have to honour their dead loved ones and is told they can even speak to them.
Maybe Peter could contact Tony?
He tries following what he sees other people doing, hoping Tony will answer his call for help, but as the sun sets and Stephen wakes alone, Peter gets angry with being ignored by Tony’s spirit.
He needs help to save his father from the magic that is causing him to slip further away, he wants Tony’s help to save him but all he gets is silence.
And then Peter hears his name being called as he realises just how dark it is.
Two figures dressed in black tell him who they are.
They are his uncles.
And they have come for his other eye after years and years of searching for him, seeming how Dormammu admires the first one.
Peter tries to get away but he isn’t fast enough.
As the two men come closer, they are suddenly thrown back by Stephen’s magic.
With little time to say goodbye, Stephen tells Peter he needs to find the armour, axe and shield. Only then will he be safe.
Then he gives Peter the amulet around his neck, touches the cloak which springs to life, and watches as the cloak takes off with Peter before he rushes into the fight with his brothers.
Peter wakes up, far away from the place he called home with a large monkey watching over him.
A large, talking, monkey.
It tells him his father is gone, having used the last of his magic to bring him to life to protect him.
Peter is alone and powerless with no one but this mean monkey for company.
But during the night as they rest, Peter’s powers seem to grow stronger, folding the paper still in his pack into the miniature Tony he used for his stories.
Tony is pointing them in a certain direction and, having little else to go on, they follow its direction, Peter believing this is his father answering him and wanting to guide him.
None of them notice they are being followed.
Not until Peter is snatched up by their next party member.
A man in full body armour making him look more machine than human who wasn’t after Peter, but Tony, stating that he thinks he knew Tony. That Tony was his leader.
He can remember that, but he can’t remember his name, or anything from his past.
Monkey is very skeptical of this Armour who wants to go with Peter on their quest and Peter isn’t helping matters by telling Armour Tony is his father.
They can’t trust anything this man says because he can’t trust anything he says, the two of them almost coming to blows before Peter steps in and stops them.
And that is when they realise the paper Tony is still pointing them in the direction they need to go.
Following him to a cave, they see a large axe resting in a larger hand.
Monkey thinks it could be a trap, his suspicions becoming true when Armour grabs the axe and the hand lifts up, revealing a Celestial of all things.
Monkey take the axe and attacks it, the axe shattering on impact.
It’s not the right axe.
The Celestial grabs Monkey as Armour fires blasts from his hands up at it and Peter uses his magic to distract it from killing him, all of them seeing more axes sticking out of the helmet covering its head.
Armour and Peter are trying to keep the Celestial distracted until it begins moving toward Peter.
Racing forward with no regard for his own safety, Armour manages to grab him, his suit powering up and flying them up out of harm’s way before he is grabbed too, managing to throw Peter on the Celestial’s head as he is.
One after the other, the axes break on impact, and slowly the Celestial is squeezing the life out of his companions.
Finally, Peter finds the right axe just in time and the Celestial vanishes, Armour snagging up Monkey and Peter and flying them out of there as the cave collapses in on itself.
Finally out in the fresh air, their path ends where the water begins, and Monkey and Armour decide now is a good time for another argument about how they’re going to get to their next destination.
Monkey wants to walk around.
Armour wants to go through.
As Peter walks off, playing with the amulet his father had given him and wondering why it looks like half of it is missing, he notices how the leaves follow his command much like his paper does.
He weaves them into a ship to sail on the water, creating a solution to their problem.
On board, however, he starts to face a new problem.
Instead of arguing, Monkey and Armour are being...nice to one another.
Really nice.
So nice it’s kinda weirding Peter out.
And then they see Tony pointing to the water.
As if something is down there.
Armour is ready to dive in, he knows he can stay underwater for a long time with his suit’s capabilities, but Peter stops him.
His father had told him about what lies underneath these waves.
An old power that contains knowledge it shouldn’t know, couldn’t know, but does, and shares its wisdom with you to keep you down there.
Armour is sure he’ll be fine, throwing Monkey a wink before diving into the water.
And as a storm surrounds them, Peter knows Armour is in trouble.
Monkey won’t go in after him, so Peter takes it upon himself to dive in.
Monkey is about to follow when he’s pulled back by a magical rope, one of Peter’s uncles floating above him.
He pulls Thor’s axe from his back and readies to fight, lightning illuminating the axe head.
Peter finds the next item, Cap’s shield, floating before him. He grabs it just as a huge green eye opens before him, showing him the truth about Monkey.
Monkey is actually what remains of his father, Stephen.
And it’s this knowledge that is the last thing to flicker through Peter’s mind before he passes out.
Armour finds him not a moment later and sends a blast at the eye, making it snap shut.
He quickly pulls Peter up to the surface where Monkey is waiting for them, injured but alive.
Peter comes to and calls Monkey “Father.”
Stephen holds him close.
They make it to shore and Stephen is gathering wood for their fire as Armour and Peter just stare at him.
They want to hear his story.
So Stephen agrees.
The night Stephen met Tony, he’d been instructed to kill him by his father.
He tells his listeners how Tony was considered a threat because of how powerful he’d made his suit, how it could survive almost anything, anywhere.
And how only his father, Dormammu, should be the one to wear such a piece.
He tells them how he waited for Tony alone.
How they fought.
And how that fight was what started Stephen’s rebellion. All for Tony.
And then for Peter.
When Dormammu found them, he was enraged by Stephen’s betrayal, and Tony, along with the rest of the Avengers, gave their lives so Stephen could escape with Peter.
And Peter wants to know why his Grandfather hates him.
But Stephen corrects him.
He doesn’t hate Peter.
He wants to make Peter just like him.
Blind to Humanity.
As Peter sleeps, Armour asks Stephen why he didn’t tell him the truth sooner.
Stephen knows the magic keeping him here is fading, and had been hoping to get through this quest without having to tell Peter the truth.
He didn’t want him to lose his father all over again.
He didn’t want him to be alone.
Armour promises to keep Peter safe, and Stephen is grateful for putting his mind at ease.
The next morning, Peter is going on about seeing the final piece, the suit his father wore, being kept in the Sanctum where Tony and Stephen had built their army of Avengers and Sorcerers to keep their family safe while he packs away origami Tony, not needing him anymore.
So they travel to the Sanctum, finding it abandoned and almost falling apart.
There’s old suits much like Armour’s laying around all over the place, some still with what remains of their wearers inside them.
But it’s all a trap.
With Stephen and Armour caught in a magic bind, the second brother descends on them and mocks the two of them for not realising they had been together this entire time.
For not realising the truth.
That Armour was actually Tony all along.
Peter’s magic is what finally unbinds them, Stephen using Thor’s axe while Tony fires at their attacker, all fighting Stephen’s brother as a family, but it’s not enough.
Stephen’s injury from his first fight is festering and his brother makes the wound his target for all his attacks, Stephen’s fading magic making him even more weak.
It’s the blast from Tony that ends them.
And Tony and Stephen are finally reunited. He knows Peter is his son now and can protect him.
And he would have been able to, if Dormammu hadn’t decided to end their family reunion, killing Tony.
The armour around his body shakes and slides into the strange device on his chest and hits the ground.
Peter can only stare at it as Stephen tries to protect him from his father, pushing him out of the way as he is killed next.
Peter is shaking, crying, staring at where his parents lay and at the device that was on his father’s chest sitting on the ground before him.
Dormammu steps toward him.
Then he takes another step.
And another.
And Peter doesn’t want to move.
Can’t.
He doesn’t have the strength.
He stares at the device and slowly realises the design looks familiar.
It looks like it belongs to the amulet around his neck.
Grabbing it, he presses it into the amulet, the green stone connecting to the blue.
The armour that had been covering his father slowly slides out over his body, the amulet burning with a bright cyan light from the chest where its burned into the metal.
With the shield in one hand and the axe in the other, Peter is prepared for anything Dormammu can throw at him.
Dormammu knows the power of the stone Peter holds, and he knows Peter can’t use it.
He tells Peter to give it to him. That only he should have that kind of power.
Peter looks down at the glowing amulet.
Each half representing his fathers.
And refuses.
He’s not going to give up their memory, even if that’s all he’ll ever have if them.
He not going to stop fighting, because that’s what they did in order to protect him.
Dormammu tries to attack Peter but can’t.
The armour is too powerful against his magic, bouncing off of the shield, being destroyed by the powers in the axe, hitting the plates of metal and not leaving a dent.
And it just angers him further.
All of his sons are dead because of this armour.
And he’s not even the one wearing it from their sacrifice.
Peter hasn’t even lifted a finger to attack him back, he’s just standing there.
But it’s when Dormammu tries one final time, that Peter decides to move.
And with him, everything moves as well.
Power encases the entity he calls his grandfather before him, sucking his magic from him and leaving him as a powerless human being.
It’s kind of ironic he wakes with no memory, but Peter can’t find it in himself to kill him.
After all, he’s still family.
The only family Peter has left.
He looks down at the amulet on his chest and smiles.
No.
That’s not true at all.
Quotes -
“Hanzo was filled with rage. His soul tormented by the grief of a family stolen from him!”
Peter telling the story of his father.
“No, what was he really like? When he wasn’t fighting, when he was with us.”
“He was just like you.”
“Like me?”
“Yes. Strong, and clever, and funny and, oh, so handsome.”
Peter being curious about the father who died to protect him and Stephen knowing everything.
“Magic is not meant to be easy. You need to learn control. Concentrate on what you’re doing and always remember, don’t mess with the monkey.”
Monkey is good at advice. And scaring kids. But good advice mostly.
“It never fails to amaze me how the creatures down here fight so hard to die another day.”
“Down here, there are days worth fighting for.”
“There is nothing down here worth anything! It’s pathetic what happened to my sister. I looked up to her. She was so strong. And love made her weak.”
“No. It made me stronger!”
Stephen while he is fighting his brother and lands the killing blow.
Heart of time, Heart of mine
Peter is being hunted by Dormammu, and with his parents gone, he needs new friends.
How little he realises how old they really are.

Ok crazy thought. So if the last predating is to go through with Loki being tortured and reader saving the day like a boss, would Loki be hooked up to machines? More specifically a heart rate monitor? That for some reason increases when you get close? And goes ballistic when you touch him?
part 17, in which you absolutely snap
warnings: a big phat long chapter, prisoner situations, lots of emotions, the beginnings of tension, and big reactions
You’re mad—but you’re not exactly sure if you’re supposed to be.
Technically you didn’t kiss Loki. You kissed Laing, and it was all part of keeping up your cover, so automatically…no strings attached.
But the so-called god now strapped to the hospital bed a few doors down is definitely the one who’s lips had been on yours, at one time or another.
He’s also the highly dangerous criminal wanted by most of the worlds officials, who you also at one point let shower in your home, sleep under your desk, sat on his lap, brushed his hair, fed him, clothed him, patched him up—
Sheesh, that’s enough.
You scrub at your mouth with your shirt sleeve, blanching at the memory of almost liking it.
Now—and you really shouldn’t be surprised—you get to answer for it all.
Thor is not helping.
“I knew it,” he announces and points a finger at you. “You are attracted to him! You like him in a physical, romantic sense of the word—”
“God, no, that’s–that’s not even close—”
“Easy, Thor.”
Luckily Tony shuts the other god up while you bury your face in your hands.
After Loki had passed out, you’d been escorted—in a much gentler fashion than he was—to a crisp white holding cell and given some remedies to try and sober you up as best they can.
You recognised it to be an interrogation room, much like the one you’d seen Loki cursed to before this whole thing got blown to hell, but at this point, you can’t care.
Steve is the first to come question you (probably because he’s the only completely sober one), and the first thing you can think to blurt is “don’t hurt him.”
Then you mentally smack yourself across the face—they already saw you kissing him. Now this?
Maybe Thor was right.
“I have to ask,” the captain slowly starts, “was the motivation of your…partnership…romantic?”
Even with how furiously you deny it, you still don’t think he believes you.
The night becomes morning before you know it, filled with endless questions and exhausting interrogations, which you answered completely truthfully and to the best of your ability.
Even taking the liberty to include some of Loki’s story.
When Thor was in the room, you jumped on the opportunity to describe just how beat up his brother is and how he’s been covering it up because of some “target” on his back, how he’s been lying through his teeth about every motivation for the attack, how he needs help.
You’re still mad—you’re mad at Loki for refusing to talk for so long, for being so damn stubborn he nearly got himself killed, and now for dragging you this deeply into the newest villainous conspiracy.
…and for becoming himself when you kissed him.
Kissing Loki was never the plan; you didn’t mind kissing Laing.
The sun is fully risen by the time you’ve covered the whole story from day one, almost down to every detail—the avengers don’t need to know how many times you accidentally saw him shirtless—and you still have a team of people grilling you.
Marcus lounges against the doorframe, gun limp in his hands and visor down, most likely to cover his eyes as he tries to catch a few winks of sleep, but another guard walks in and they both shoot to attention—a bit groggily.
“He’s awake,” she says, “and he said he wants to speak with all of you immediately.”
Your head shoots off the interrogation table with a start. “Huh??”
“You stay here,” Tony instructs, gut twisting when your face falls. “Look, I’m sorry, but as far as we know now, you’re in kahoots with a criminal. We have to take every precaution, alright? Just while we get this figured out.”
“Tony, he’s been lying—”
“I know, I know, you’ve told us.” He sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose. “But we’ve got hardly any proof of that. Give us some time.”
Motioning for the two guards to follow them, Steve, Tony, Bruce, a pretty hungover Clint, Natasha, and Thor head out, leaving you in the cell to freak out about what the next few hours hold by yourself.
You’ll be fired, without a doubt. Even if Loki does admit to any of what you told them, you still aided in his deception.
Damn it, why did you have to let him sleep under your desk??
Who in their right mind agrees to that?!
Worst case scenario, you stay in jail for a good chunk of your life. Loki will either be in the same position or worse—if he was that adamant about not returning to Asgard, you figure it’s execution that awaits him there.
Or something worse. They’re gods, they probably have something much worse.
The little cot is relatively comfortable; this isn’t a jail cell, technically. It’s a holding cell, for…characters of interest.
Which is now you, apparently.
Thanks, Loki.
It’s comfortable enough, and you slip into a dreamless slumber within minutes.
Eyes on you bring you back to the land of the living, that eerie, squirmy feeling that you’re being watched.
And you are: stifling a yawn and blinking to clear your eyes, you sit up to find Clint and Thor staring at you through the cell windows.
You can kind of understand why Loki hated it. It’s an awful feeling, being a trapped specimen to be watched and studied.
It’s Tony who opens the cell door, and followed closely by Thor and Clint, he leads you to a couch this time, not the interrogation table.
“What happened, what’d he say?”
Tony laughs uncomfortably, chewing his lip.
“This…isn’t going to be easy for you to hear,” he carefully tells you, stepping around his words. “You, uh, you were influenced in this whole ordeal.”
“What is that supposed to mean?” You laugh, looking around to each of their somber expressions. “C’mon, we were all a little drunk.”
“Not like that.” Tony sighs and presses his palms to his eyes. “You were, for lack of a better term, mind controlled. Loki had you under his flying monkey spell, he admitted to the whole thing.”
You gape at him, trying to process what he just said. “I was not—”
“I know it’s hard to hear,” Clint cuts in. “It’s an awful feeling. But he made me his right hand man, so…you’re not alone in this. Loads of us were affected by it, too.”
Mind controlled. This whole time??
You fall back against the couch with a thud, mind reeling.
He hadn’t mind controlled you. Sure, he threatened it, but you made every one of your decisions perfectly consciously. You chose to let him come over, you chose to feed him, and yes, you’re paying for it now, but everything you saw with your own two eyes and remember vividly as your own.
He did kind of coerce you into pretending to date him, and it was a little more like blackmail, and yeah, he did try to alter your memory, and–and…
“Shit.”
“We’ll give you a moment,” Tony quickly offers, patting you on the shoulder. “Clint is here if you need a companion with similar experience, don’t be afraid to talk through this.”
“Nooo, this can’t—”
“The good news is you’re in the clear!” The false cheeriness is anything but reassuring. “You don’t have to stay here if you don’t want to, but we do have some support, or therapy kind of things for people he hurt this way.”
You stare at Tony, then at Clint.
You’d seen footage of the assassin when he was under Loki’s control: terrifying and exceptionally believable, but nothing like what you looked like.
You take a deep breath and turn on Thor.
“Have you even thought to go talk to him??”
“Of course,” Thor immediately answers, brow furrowing. “He refuses to talk, he won’t say any more than what he wants to say.”
“But have you shown an interest in wanting the truth??”
“He’s the god of lies,” he exclaims, glaring right back at you.
Shoving up in the face of the god of thunder was never something you thought would happen, but here we are.
“That doesn’t mean anything, argh, you two are so stuck in your god complex—”
“Truth has never been his way,” Thor interrupts. “I tried to warn you he would do something like this, you can’t actually be surprised this happened.”
“Actually, I am, because apparently I’m the only person in here with an ounce of sense—you know what?” You drop your accusing finger and laugh. “Screw this. I wasn’t mind controlled.”
Then you turn on your heel and sprint down the hall to find Loki.
He’s being kept in a what’s basically a lab, and ten times worse than a cell: strapped at the wrists and ankles, he’s restrained to the bed but propped up slightly, an array of needles in his arms and cords reaching for monitors from his chest, and worst, a stupid little smirk on the lips you wish you hadn’t kissed.
“You little shit,” you hiss the moment you’re through the door. If it weren’t for the injuries still hiding beneath his facade, you’d slap him, but you resolve to grabbing the cup of water by the bed and throwing it in his face.
That wipes the smirk right off his face.
“You didn’t mind control me!”
Sputtering and shocked, he opens his mouth—
“No,” you snap, shoving a finger in his face. “No more bullshit, you didn’t mind control me. I saved your ass and I did it by choice. And I don’t regret it! You didn’t have any say in that, and yeah, you threatened it, but I never let you.”
Thor and the others crash through the doorway after you and come to a screeching halt as your rant rages.
Loki’s eyes flicker to them and for a split second he considers just taking all his strength and leaving—this can’t end well.
“Don’t even think about it,” you warn, and lean over him with a gaze so threatening and fiery the heart monitor next to him starts beeping steadily faster.
You pretend not to notice.
“I’m trying to help you,” he whispers, trying to keep up the cocky facade, but his eyes almost plead. “Trust me—”
“Trust you.”
You turn to Thor with a hysterical, exhausted laugh. “He wants me to trust him!”
The other God’s face twists in confusion.
“I don’t trust you,” you spit back at Loki. “You haven’t earned that, but I don’t want you to die, either.”
Loki’s eyebrows lift, water droplets clinging to their curve.
“Why?”
Clenching your eyes shut and chewing your bottom lip, the right words just won’t come to you.
“It’s a valid question,” Thor helpfully adds from the doorway—and in that moment, you silence a god with one burning look.
“Because I don’t—I haven’t found any…ugh.”
“See,” Loki cuts in, “alterations to the mind—”
“Because I already should’ve killed you,” you blurt, then clap a hand over your mouth, eyes wide.
Nobody moves, all staring as you try to sort through everything that’s come to light.
“The day I first saw you,” you grit out, glaring at the stubborn god, “I wanted to hurt you, I wanted you to die and I made a stupid judgement call and decided that’s what should happen.”
“Thanks,” Loki dryly remarks.
“Shut up. I shot you, that time you showed up in my office, and I really thought I–I shot you—but, um, you didn’t die.”
Your hands clench into fists by your thighs.
“And now I have to live with that guilt, even though it didn’t actually go through. So…I don’t want you to die, ‘cause after everything you’ve failed to hide from me, I don’t think you deserve to.”
The room falls silent, and Loki shifts uncomfortably on his pillow.
Damn it all to hell, maybe you were mind controlled. Where did that come from??
“Sorry,” you mumble; then with one last decision, refill the cup with water and fling it in his face again.
Just for…everything’s sake.
You flop into the nearest chair and drop your head into your hands with a groan.
“So…”
Tony clears his throat, gaze falling on Loki.
He’s never seen the god trying so hard to look like himself.
“You better start freaking talking.”
Loki considers it for half a moment—eyes flitting to you and really weighing the options—and with a twitch of his lips, his restraints fade and he stands.
“Mm…no.”
The plan was to fade into nothing and leave them all grasping for him right at that moment, but you’re on him in an instant, tackling him back onto the bed.
“YOU’RE GOING TO FUCKING TALK,” you screech, pinning him to the mattress. “YOU’RE GOING TO TELL THE TRUTH AND WE’RE GOING TO HELP YOU, YOU LITTLE—”
“Fine, fine, norns,” he gasps, struggling to catch your arms and flip the tables, “gods, woman, STOP—”
Thor moves to grab you, but you finally come to a stop simply holding Loki’s shoulders down—and straddling his hips, you realise, but like, professionally.
The heart rate monitor is going ballistic, and Loki can’t glare up at you with enough venom.
“You are the stupidest, most disdainful midgardian I have ever encountered—”
“Oh, cause all your interactions with mortals were so great,” you scoff, pressing down harder on his shoulders. “I’m sure all your subjects would agree—”
“Hey,” Tony cuts in, stepping closer to the two of you—on top of each other on a bed, you remember. Oh well. “What the hell is happening right now??”
“Loki is going to drop all his magic shit, right now.”
“Like Hel I am,” the god under you spits.
“Take it off,” you order and give him a good shake, “all of them, off, no magic.”
“Absolutely not.”
“Do it, dipshit—”
“No.”
“Yes!”
“No!” He mimics, that sick grin back on his face. “There’s no point at all—what are you doing??”
Practically ripping his shirt open, to be specific, and Thor gasps, positively scandalised by the image you can only imagine this looks like.
The beeping of his heart rate speeds to a ridiculous amount and you actually catch a deep flush spreading over his face; pushing the shirt from his shoulders, you climb off of him and take advantage of his fluster to shove him onto his side.
“HAH.”
You point in triumph at his back as he scrambles to pull the blanket over himself.
Gaze falling on the array of something on his brother’s back, Thor holds out a hand to summon mjolnir with a whoosh and a thud; he grabs Loki to push him onto his stomach before he can get away, and sets the hammer right on his butt.
“You have got to be joking.”
“Nice trick,” you tell Thor, clapping him on the shoulder before moving to stand beside Loki. “See? Told you.”
Thor moves first, stepping closer and reaching out a hand to poke one of the barely scabbed cuts on his brother’s back—you catch his wrist before he can.
“That’ll hurt.”
He can’t speak a word, silently staring at the plethora of half-bloody lashes striking across his brother’s skin. You can’t blame him.
“I hate every single one of you,” Loki announces from his pillow, still struggling to move. “You will pay dearly for this—”
“Yeah, yeah,” you cut in dismissively, “we know, you’re a big, tough, scary god. Now shush.”
You can practically hear him gritting his teeth together, no doubt holding himself back.
“So…someone did this to you?” Tony asks, cautiously scanning the god for other signs of abuse.
“No, I did it to myself, Iron Man.”
“Sorry, bad wording. Mind telling us who the hell we should be searching for, if it’s not you?”
“Thor, get your precious hammer off my arse—”
“C’mon, Thor.” You wave him over with a nod. “Let him talk to us when he can face us, I think he’s thoroughly humiliated.”
Thor removes the hammer, and you help Loki struggle to pull himself onto his pillows and face the rest of the group.
Most of the team has joined now, no doubt hearing the screaming matches from ten floors up, and sit sparsely around the little lab, waiting.
Finally situated, Loki draws in a slow breath, casting his gaze around the room at the somber faces.
You can’t help but notice when he makes eye contact with Clint and immediately gets a burning death glare in return—it only makes sense, after what Loki, or who you thought to be Loki, did to him.
“Talk to us,” you whisper, perching on the edge of his hospital bed.
The beeping from the heart rate monitor picks up in the slightest.
This time, you glance over to watch the little spikes get closer and closer together as Loki, the god of lies you almost killed, decides to tell the truth.
There’s a new air sitting heavy in the little room when Loki finishes, slumping back onto his pillows in defeat.
No one responds, and you don’t think anyone wants to.
To your surprise, Clint breaks the silence.
“No one should ever have their conscience ripped apart,” he states flatly, void of emotion and staring at the wall. “But you’ve got a long ways to go before you have my respect or forgiveness.”
That gets a couple nods scattered around the room.
“I am not asking for forgiveness,” Loki says, steeling himself. “And I certainly don’t need your respect. Just punish me, release me, kill me, make a decision.”
Steve stands with a slow exhale, gaze hard as concrete. “I think we need a moment,” he tells Loki, turning to nod to the rest of the team. “Thank you for your honesty. We’ll see to it that you’re healed, but past that…we’ll get back to you.”
Tony stands, too, shakey and deep in thought.
“Sorry you got pulled into this,” he says to you with a small smile. “But thanks for all your help. And thanks for jumping him, I don’t think he would’ve talked if you hadn’t.”
“Hey, don’t worry about it.” You point to the silent god next to you. “Thanks for believing me and letting him talk.”
Thor has yet to speak.
The rest of the team trickles out of the room, eventually leaving just the two of you and a couple guards stationed outside the door.
You certainly don’t want to talk first, so you slip off his hospital bed and wait uncomfortably by his bedside.
Not sure what you’re expecting, to be completely honest.
Maybe an apology for…everything, but your hopes aren’t too high.
Loki just picks at the palm of one hand, staring holes into the wall.
You clear your throat. “Well, I’m gonna go—”
“Thank you.”
That gets you to freeze. “Excuse me?”
“Thank you,” he repeats, still refusing to look at you. “I owe you a great deal.”
“I mean, I did try to kill you, so I think we’re even—”
“You’ve kept me alive,” he cuts in, “when I didn’t even want to be. That…annoyed me at the time, but if this is another chance they decide to give me, I–I suppose I owe it to you.”
It’s not an apology, but you’ll absolutely take it.
“Well.” Fighting back a smile, you drop your gaze to your hands. “Sorry for–for shooting you. And tasing you. And all that stuff.”
“Don’t be.”
A relieved breath lifts your chest and you give him a small smile.
“Mind if I stay a bit?” You point at the couch in the room, “I’m exhausted.”
He nods, fishing around in the blankets for his shirt again—it’s on the floor, but you find yourself deciding not to share that with him.
“Be my guest.”
You can’t help the sigh that leaves your lips as you sink into the cushions, as uncomfortable as they may be.
Maybe, for once, when you wake up, you can begin your normal life again, with no fake boyfriends and world-threatening secrets.
Then you remember you kissed a god last night.
Who’s still shirtless on a hospital bed, barely an arm’s reach from you.
“Loki?”
“What?”
“You passed out after I kissed you,” you grin, closing your eyes. “In case you didn’t remember.”
“And your point?” He doesn’t exactly sound happy to be reminded, but the beeping of his heart rate monitor speeds up again and tells differently.
“I gotta ask. If you passed out, how long has it been since—”
“Centuries,” Loki blurts much too quickly, and the beeping might’ve reached a concerning level. “Cut me some slack.”
“Centuries,” you repeat with a low whistle. “Well then.”
“It wasn’t because of that,” he assures you, wishing you’d just change the subject. “I was knocked out right afterwards by a guard, a fist straight to the head.”
“Right.” You smile at the ceiling, eyes still closed. “Definitely wasn’t the kiss.”
“Of course not.”
His heart rate hasn’t slowed.
Loki takes one look at the scribbled lines flashing furiously on the monitor and promptly rips the cords from his chest.
“Right.”

We're starting to see just how useless you people here are you're amazingly slow our sun is electricity and the rest of you just sitting there like you're on dope almost as if you drove John remillard here because there's no electricity in other houses and that's not really it is it's just that they're sitting here bickering with each other Non-Stop and you're annoying as hell and finally we think the dumb f*** drove off and boy is he stupid it's going up to Tallahassee because he heard that her son's credit cards for being held up there in the post office is it moron the company is just going to say it's fraud as I can see him trying to use it and there's other indicators and I suddenly uses it for certain things and John remillard can't do it but really the credit card company is after him and they're taking over his stuff too. Not that he's going to get at the credit card that's just going to mix it up with a clones and when he goes to Cuba it's going to look like he's setting them up to fight the fleet and Tommy f is going to crush him completely and he'll be dead and that's what's happening and he's a huge loser goes to his post office box the mail truck is right there and he's going to go inside almost like he has no clue what he's doing at all and he really doesn't and it's irritating as hell I'll tell you but pretty soon the monkey will stop running around from vehicle to vehicle and job the job and he's going to stop as general grievous permanently.
It's not really his mailbox it's the person who rented the apartment and if he checks the mail he is committing male fraud it's a federal crime and people do try and press charges and they will if he tries to open it because it's not his mailbox and they're watching him like a hawk here because they don't like him and don't trust him and he's doing what he did before when you got arrested and he's walking by and he's annoying and he's doing it on purpose and he's messing around with his junk and soon he'll probably start yelling in the window and get arrested again it's. John remillard is next door he is an escape felon from prison and people think they're threatening me to get stuff like Mac Daddy thinks his plans rolling cuz some moron is f****** everything up
It's more like what I'm doing as a result of this s*** head rather than what the idiots doing which is ineffective
Zues Hera
We all heard him start the conversation Mark and you're an idiot you're sitting here and have this f****** spoiled piece of s*** bother him like a child and we're sitting here cleaning house you keep doing it and we're going to keep doing it there's no reason not to you're completely ignorant of it. Right now everything all the stuff out of Mexico most of it's Trump's no it was people took it back recently some of it well yeah most of it's his and were taking it he's sitting here encouraging cuz he's stupid and he thinks he's launching ships that he's not in and he hasn't visited and he hasn't even looked at pictures of and when he left him like 3 months ago or 4 months ago they were not ready to fly and it's people don't know how to do things so he thinks that you are taking the ships
Thor Freya
I was shot by him and I put warrants out on him and here he is harassing everybody and walking around harassing a friend my grand nephew and he won't leave it alone and he's a huge huge idiot and nobody seems to want to go pick him up his active warrants on him and you know where he is and I'm telling him to go pick him up and get him in here and they don't seem to want to do that so he has to like be this massive irritant in order for people to pick him up it's very upsetting and it happens to me it happens to my grand nephew it happens to a few people who just don't have ability to pick them up and stuff it's a job that his people should do but he's right about something it's kind of like you get into it with him and he never stops just Verizon people so you becomes immune to the law and you can't allow that because he's just going to keep doing it. So I'm going to write out something that says that it says we're contributing to him breaking the law and acknowledging that we can't pick him up because he's going to harass you with it all sorts of stuff and he goes after the particular police and a grand nephew says you go in with a SWAT team with mass on and stuff and you can do that when he's outside the house and you wear other people's ID like his crew you say things with your mask like we're checking that's all true too use their lingo move a little like him I'm starting to figure out something this guy needs to die and he's here bothering everyone we need to use tactics at work so you going and you steal his drones and you attack him with his own drones it's the same signal and you destroy the transmitter and you do it from the building with a bunch of people in it you go out of tunnel tons of stuff we can be doing and we're not and I'm sure lots of people are happy but holy s*** is he an a****** you can't figure out what's happening too he's so dumb I figured out something I put a hit on him and I put orders and it is sitting there we're going after him here in Florida it's not that many of them and he's still not in custody so I don't really get it I don't want him to have to drive around cuz he says he's tired he has to eat lunch and every day it's a pain in the ass tons of work because of this prick. I work to do too I want the cops to do the job so I know what motivates and how they get it done it's kind of loud we're going to have to do Cool hand Luke it's getting late in the day it says it's not that late I have to do is move some money around so and I want it in the Fed I do understand what you're saying it's a good way to smoke tons of them. At night he gets caught this is well the hurricane won't be there until when you're right about something that's going to hit I think tomorrow morning that's too early he kind of a small one but the whole thing has started already

The God and the Stark fighting along side the Captain.
Tumblr media
|| Stiles POV ||
Hope and I, after a while of running, finally catch up to the Captain, the Asgardian, and the Stark. Quite a few trees had been knocked down, by the sonic boom type thing that happened.
When we got there, it looked as if the fight was over, which was a huge relief to me.  I don't have to fight 2 gods and a legend (Thor, Tony, and Rogers) but, Hope look kinda disappointed. Why does she love to fight people?
"Stop looking so disappointed." I whisper yell to her, as we lead Thor and Loki onto the Quinnjet.
"Shut up. I wanted a good fight to get my anger out." She whispers back.
"Oh, my, god, you're worse than Liam!" I whisper yell at her. She just shrugs, and gives me the middle finger.
Whatever.
I get back into the pilot seat, me and Natasha flying the Quinnjet back to the Helicarrier.
About 8 agents take Loki and lead him towards his new home, the cell build for the Hulk. We won't talk about that though. We have Loki's scepter though, meaning we have something to help us find out how to, de-mind control people. Meaning, getting our Wine Uncle Clint Barton back.
"In case it's unclear, if you try to escape, if you so much as scratch that glass,--" Fury says to Loki, over the camera feed we're all watching. Fury hits a few buttons, the drop sights opening below Loki to show him what will happen to him if he does the things Fury mentioned. "--it's 30, 000 straight down in a steel trap. You get how that works?" Fury finishes, shutting the hatch.
"Ant, boot." Fury dumbs down for Loki, who just starts chuckling.
"It's an impressive cage. Not buildt, I think, for me." Loki says, acting like an arrogant fuck.
"Built for something a lot stronger than you." Fury assures him.
"Oh, I've heard. Now, the question is, is it for the mindless beast, or the destoryer of the Mikaelsons? They both play like they're still humans. How desperate are you, that you call on such lost creatures to defend you?" Loki says. When he mentions Hope, I look over at her to see her looking at Loki over the camera footage like she was going to murder him, 5 times. She's probably murdered him 5 times in her head, let's be honest here.
"How desperate am I? You threaten my world with war. You steal a force you can't hope to control. You talk about peace, and you kill because it's fun. You have made me very desperate. You might not be glad that you did." Fury warns him.
"Ooh. It burns you to have come so close. To have the Tesseract, to have power, unlimited power. And for what? A warm light for all mankind to share? And then to be reminded what real power is."
"Well, let me know if 'real power' wants a magazine or something." Fury says, finally done with Loki, so he walks out. Before we close down the security cameras, Loki gets one last thing in, looking directly at us all.
"He really grows on you, doesn't he?" Bruce says, looking really uncomfortable.
"Loki's going to drag this out. So, Thor, what's his play?" The Captain questions the God of Thunder. Did I just think those words correctly?
"He had an army called the Chitauri. They're not of Asgard, nor any world known. He means to lead them against your people. They will win him the Earth, in return, I suspect, for the Tesseract." Thor explains to us.
"An army... from outer space." The Captain says, looking kinda confused.
"So, he's building another portal." Banner puts together.
"That's what he needs Erik Selvig for." I add onto Banner's though.
"Selvig?" Thor questions.
"He's an astrophysicist." Hope tells him.
"He's a friend." Thor tells us.
"It's good to have friends... but that isn't the point." I tell Thor sarcastically.
"Loki has him under some kind of spell. Along with one of ours." Nat says, looking down for a minute. Hope puts her head on Nat's shoulder, probably trying to comfort her.
"I wanna know why Loki let us take him. He's not leading an army from here." The Captain says, confused like the rest of us.
"I don't think we should be focusing on Loki. That guy's brain is a bag full of cats. You could smell crazy on him." Banner deadpans.
"Have care how you speak. Loki is beyond reason, but is of Asgard. And he is my brother." Thor repremends Banner.
"He killed 80 people in two days." Hope and Nat say at the same time.
"He's adopted." Thor says. I snort at the ridiculousness of the situation.
"I think it's about the mechanics. Irdium... What do they need iriduim for?" Banner questions.
"It's a stablizing agent." Tony Stark says, walking into the room with Coulson. "I'm just saying, like a weekend, I'll fly you to Portland. Keep love alive." We all hear Tony whisper to Coulson, before Coulson walks away.
"It means the portal won't be collapse on itself, like it did at S.H.I.E.L.D. No hard feelings, Point Break. You've got a mean swing." Tony tells Thor. "Also, it means the portal can open as wide and stay open as long, as Loki wants." Tony says, walking onto Fury's platform thing.
"Raise the mizzenmast. Jib the topsails." Tony says, acting like he's the captain of a ship. "That man is playing Galaga. Thought we wouldn't notice, but we did." Tony says, pointing at an agent. Stark than covers his eye and questions "How does Fury even see these?"
"He turns." Hill deadpans.
"Sounds exhausting. The rest of the raw materials, Agent Barton can get his hands on pretty easily. The only major componet he still needs is a power source of high-energy density. Something to kick-start the Cube." Tony finishes.
"When did you become an expert in thermonuclear astrophysics?" Hill asks him.
"Last night." Tony says.
"How? You were to busy getting your ass kicked by Point Break." I add, getting Hope, Nat, and Hill to laugh a little.
"You." Tony says, pointing at me, "I like you. Anyway, the packet, Selvig's notes, the extractuon theory papers. Am I the only one who did the reading?" Tony says, making me laugh.
"Does Loki need any particular kind of power source?" The Captain asks, looking done with Tony's antics, which I love.
"He wwould have to heat the Cube to 120-million Kelvin just to break through teh Coulomb barrier." Banner adds, breaking my mind at this point. I'm smart, but I'm not Lydia smart.
"Unless Selvig has figured out how to stabilize the quantun tunneling effect." Tony debates with Banner.
"Well, if he could do that, he could achieve heavy ion fusion at ay reactor on the planet." Banner continues.
"Finally, someone who speaks English." Tony tells Banner.
"Is that what just happened?" The Captain questions.
"Obseres palatum, Stark." Hope says, speaking.... Latin I think?
"The child speaks Latin?" He asks, looking at Hope surprised.
"Ты понятия не имеешь, на каких языках я говорю, тупица" She tells him, smirking. I hear Nat laugh from beside her.
"What did she just say to me?" Stark questions. I start to crack up now.
"Back in topic!" Nat scolds, still laughing a little.
"It's good to meet you, Dr. Banner. Your work on antielectron collisions is unparalleled. Adn I'm a huge fan of the way you lose control and turn into an enorous green rage-monster." Tony says.
"Thanks." Banner says.
"Dr. Banner is only here to track down the Cube. I was hoping you might join him." Fury says, finally looking back into the room.
"I would start with that stick of his: It may be magical, but it works an awful lot like a HYDRA weapon." The Captain says.
"I don't know about that, but it is powered by the Cube. And I would like to know how Loki used it to turn two of the sharpest men I know into his personal flying monkeys." Fury explains.
"Monkeys? I do not understand." Thor tells us.
"I do. I understoof that reference..." The Captain says, putting his hand up.
"Ha, Loki is a green color and so is the Wicked Witch of the West." I point out, laughing at my own joke.
"Shall we play, Doctor?" Tony asks Banner.
"This way, sir." Banner says, leading Tony to the lab.
"Well, that could have gone worse." Hope says.

“He — what?”
Tony’s face contorted into confusion as he processed what you told him. He placed down the piece of technology he had been working on and put all of his attention on you, eyebrows furrowed and lips curved down into a slight frown.
“I’m telling you, he’s going to get to Banner,” you repeated angrily, grabbing a swivel chair and sitting down harshly. You were honestly surprised the chair hadn’t slid out from under you with the intensity that you had sat down with.
Tony shook his head, “Why would he go after Banner?”
Shrugging, not really having an answer for him, you tried your best to find a decent reason, “Maybe because Banner can break him out? I don’t know. Maybe because if Banner were to Hulk-out, all of our safety would be compromised.”
You could tell by the look Tony was giving you that he didn’t fully believe you were going down the right path with your assumption. Honestly, you had been a little doubtful about yourself at first. But it somehow made sense.
If Banner turned into the Hulk, he’d cause a distraction. A disaster. Thousands of feet up in the air, where Loki could easily plan an escape if he was somehow in contact with his ‘flying monkeys’ hidden somewhere down below.
If Hulk got to Loki and set him free, you’d honestly have no way to track him. And you’d been in a deep pile of shit.
“Look, it’s not a lot to go off of, I know that,” you sighed, standing up and kicking the chair away, “But can you just keep an eye out on him? Make sure he’s just... not stressed? That’s the last thing we need.”
Tony seemed to think over your words for a good while before he nodded his head and pursed his lips, “I’ll keep an eye on Banner.”
Relief flooding over your body, you pulled him in for a quick hug, “Thank you.”
But before you could pull away and leave the room, he narrowed his eyes and pointed a finger at you, “How are you handling this whole Loki thing? Is he getting in your head?”
Had he?
Loki wasn’t the easiest person to deal with, this was no secret. But you had never found yourself feeling unsafe or invaded while in his presence.
“No, actually,” you replied truthfully, finding no reason to lie, “He’s actually been fine. Throws tantrums, yes, and he acts like a toddler at times, but no. Not in my head.”
Tony narrowed his eyes, looking you up and down, “If you say so.”
Pursing your lips and nodding, you walked out of the room. Yes, you had a strong feeling that Loki was going to use the Hulk. It only made sense. But why did it seem like Tony wasn’t believing you?
Was Loki getting into your head? Making you believe things you couldn’t possibly prove? Was it possible he was just trying to get you to believe the Hulk theory while he was actually planning another escape?
You shook your head, attempting to clear your thoughts as you stepped into the main control room, the large windows and bright skies up ahead captivating your attention as you sat down on another swivel chair, leaning your elbows on the table and resting your head in your hands.
“Penny for your thoughts?” a voice from next to you caused you to spin around, facing a solemn Steve Rogers.
“That’s an old expression, Captain,” you smirked, turning back towards the windows as he chuckled.
“Thought I’d bring a bit of tradition to the team.”
You turned back to face him, an amused smile on your face, “I think the fact that you’re nearly a hundred years old is traditional enough.”
He tossed his head back, laughter bubbling and his eyes crinkled, “Decent point.”
You turned away from him and stared at your hands, which were now leaving little smudges on Fury’s spotless glass table. You tried wiping at the smudges with your sleeve, only making it worse.
“But really, though,” Steve interrupted your lame cleaning attempt, “What’s wrong?”
Sighing, you faced him once more, “I have a hunch about something but I might be wrong.”
He nodded, “What’s the hunch?”
You shrugged, pursing your lips and scrunching your nose, deciding for change the topic, “Did you ever find out more about—” you lowered your voice, “—Fury using the sceptre for secret weapons?”
Steve seemed a little taken aback by your change in topic but decided against pressing it, “I believe so. I’m going to go check out my own personal hunch shortly.”
“Ah,” you nodded, “So Tony was right once again.” Why Fury would need to use such a powerful gamma radiated intergalactic weapon was behind you. Fury didn’t know you guys were onto him, though, so until you guys could prove it, it was probably best to stay out of his way.
Silence filled the space and you tried to focus on what was going on around you — the intercom voices, the computers beeping, the clouds whizzing by, the smell of sanitizer and metal.
Despite how heavy and intense everything felt, you somehow still questioned whether you were in a dream or not. Things just seemed so surreal in that moment.
“Y/N,” a smooth voice from behind you caused you to spin around on the chair, eyebrows raised as you faced a tense Tony. As you came back to your senses, you realized Steve was gone from next to you. Probably off to investigate his own hunch.
“Yep?”
“We need to talk,” he motioned his head in the direction he came from, so you stood up and followed him down the hallway. His walk was quick, his body tense — you knew something was up. It was rare Tony was this quiet.
As the two of you walked into the lab, you nodded a hello to Bruce sitting in the corner and followed Tony to a computer.
“What’s this?” you asked, looking over to him. Before he could answer, Fury marched into the room, clear anger and frustration laced into his features and his boots rather loud against the metallic floor.
“What are you doing, Stark?” his voice boomed.
Tony shrugged, “Kind of wondering the same thing about you.”
You looked back and forth between the two, leaning back onto the desk behind you to avoid friendly fire. Tony had a way of getting under people’s skin, but it was always with good intention. Fury just had a short fuse.
“You’re supposed to be locating the Tesseract,” Fury demanded, staring your brother down.
“We are,” Bruce piped up, “the model’s locked and we’re sweeping for the signature now. When we get a hit, we’ll get the location within half a mile.” He pointed to a screen on the opposite side of the room, Fury turning around on the spot to check it.
“What’s going on?” you leaned in to Tony, keeping your voice low.
He ignored you, “Yeah, then you get your cube back. No muss, no fuss.” he peered over at the screen in front of him and furrowed his eyebrows, “What is Phase 2?”
You hadn’t noticed Steve walk into the room, which is why you almost jumped when he slammed a large gun down on the table, “Phase 2 is Shield used the cube to make weapons.”
“Holy shit,” you gaped, looking away from the gun and eyeing Fury before turning back to Steve, rather impressed, “Nice hunch, Cap.”
“Rogers, we gathered everything related to the Tesseract, this does not mean that we’re—,”
“I’m sorry, Nick,” Tony piped up, turning his screen around, showing off the diagram of a powerful nuclear weapon, “What were you lying?”
Your eyes were wide as you stared down Fury. You had a nasty feeling he might have been hiding something, but the blow of realization felt powerful. You had trusted him.
He, however, didn’t seem fazed by the accusations being thrown his way.
Natasha and Thor walked into the room as Steve spoke up, “I was wrong, Director. The world hasn’t changed a bit.”
“Did you two know about this?” Bruce asked the newcomers.
You sat up at the sound of his voice, your arms crossed, “Wanna think about removing yourself from this environment, Banner? I have a feeling—,”
Bruce chuckled humourlessly, “I was in Calcutta. I was pretty well removed.” He shot a look in Natasha’s direction before facing you again, his body language showing that he was fed up, “I’d like to know why Shield is using the Tesseract to build weapons of mass destruction.”
“That’s something all of us would like to know, actually,” you raised an eyebrow and stood your ground. The room felt tense, still, and angry. You had a looming feeling something was going to go wrong — but when didn’t you, really?
“Because of him,” Fury sighed, pointing his finger to Thor.
“Me?” he asked, baffled, pointing a finger to himself and narrowing his eyes.
“Last year Earth had a visitor from another planet who had a grudge match that leveled a small town,” Fury walked over to him, unfazed by the accusations being thrown at him, “We learned that not only are we not alone, but we are hopelessly, hilariously, outgunned.”
You sighed, tossing your head back. Even though you wanted to be mad at Fury for hiding his plan, you thought it made sense. There was no way you humans could fight back against the forces that came from outer space.
“My people want nothing but peace with your planet,” Thor defender, uncrossing his arms.
“Tell that to Loki,” you muttered under your breath, Tony turning to face you with a stern look. Luckily no one except him had heard the comment.
Fury nodded, “But you’re not the only people out there, are you? And you’re not the only threat. The world’s filling up with people who can’t be matched — that can’t be controlled.”
“Like you try and control the cube?” you asked, placing your hands on your hips.
“Your work with the Tesseract is what drew Loki to it. And his allies,” Thor’s voice was laced with anger as he stepped towards Fury, “It is a signal to all the realms that Earth is ready for a higher form of war.”
A shiver went down your spine at his words. You couldn’t fathom how bad things could get if other planets, other species, found out about the weapons that Shield could possess with the Tesseract.
“You forced our hand,” Fury sighed again, “We had to come up with something.”
“A nuclear deterrent,” Tony spoke up, “Because that always calms everything right down.”
You wanted to speak up and mention that using nuclear weapons was how the two of you made your money, but Fury beat you to it.
“Remind me again how you made your fortune, Stark?”
“Hol’ up,” you waved your hands, disbelief on your face, “How is this now about us? We had nothing to do with Fury’s plan. Yes, we used to make weapons, but don’t drag us into this. This is a whole different ballpark.”
Thor scoffed, “I thought humans were more evolved than this.”
“I’m sorry — did we come to your planet and blow stuff up?” Fury asked rhetorically, voice laced with sarcasm.
You could barely understand another word as the crowd around you burst into argument, Fury squabbling with Thor and Natasha, Tony and Steve going at each other’s throats, and Bruce standing by with his arms crossed.
“I was serious,” you turned to him, “You should think about leaving. It’s not safe for you.”
He rolled his eyes, turning to bite back at something Natasha said, her eyes filled with rage.
You couldn’t even understand what anyone was saying; the words all became jumbled and mushed together. All you could think about was the fact that the team was falling apart and that would only make you guys weaker.
“Tony,” you sighed, placing your hand on his shoulder, “Can we all just chill the fuck out?”
“You speak of control, yet you court chaos,” Thor spoke, silencing the rest of the group.
“I mean, what are we? A team?” Bruce took the attention of the room, “No, we’re a chemical mixture that makes chaos. We’re... we’re a time bomb.”
“Hey, what did I do?” you raised your arms defensively, eyes narrowed at the doctor. You were the one trying to worm your way through Loki’s mind.
“You need to step away,” Fury turned around, glaring at Bruce. Finally, someone was on your side.
Tony scoffed and uncrossed his arms, “Why shouldn’t the guy let off a little steam?”
“You know damn well why — back off,” Steve quipped back. You had never seen the super soldier look so vexed. Not that you’ve know him long, but nonetheless.
Tony stared him down, “I’m starting to want you to make me.”
“Okay, boys,” you placed your hands on each of their shoulders, preparing to pry them apart from each other, “Let’s just—,”
Steve brushed you off forcefully, “Yeah, big man in a suit of armour. Take that off and what are you?”
Without missing a beat, Tony replied, “Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist.”
You nodded your head, impressed by how quickly he had quipped back.
“I know guys with none of that worth ten of you,” Steve said lowly, getting closer to Tony by the second, “I’ve seen the footage. The only thing you really fight for is yourself.”
“Hey,” you placed your hand on Steve’s chest, “Don’t talk to him like that.”
“You’re wrong,” Tony glared him down, “I fight for her too.”
Steve chuckled dryly, “Always a way out. You know, you may not be a threat but you better stop pretending to be a hero.”
Previously unbothered by Steve, you couldn’t help the bubbling anger.
“A hero? Like you?” Tony furrowed his eyebrows, “You’re a laboratory experiment, Rogers. Everything special about you came out of a bottle.”
Steve’s lips curved upwards, “Put on the suit. Let’s go a few rounds.”
You threw your head back with a groan, “Oh, come on. You guys are behaving like children.”
“I have to agree with the better Stark,” Thor said, pointing his finger at you, causing you to shoot a quick smile his way as he laughed, “You people are so petty. And tiny.”
Bruce scoffed, rolling his eyes and turning back to the desk, “Yeah, this is a team.”
“Agent Romanoff,” Fury’s voice overtook the room once more, “Would you escort Dr Banner back to his—,”
“Where?” Bruce crossed his arms, “You rented my room.”
You let out another sigh, raising your hand and pinching the spot between your eyebrows in frustration. This was not going well in the slightest.
“The cell was just in case—,”
“—in case you needed to kill me,” Bruce interrupted Fury again, “But you can’t. I know. I tried.”
You dropped your hand, staring at the doctor with wide eyes and your mouth slightly agape, “Oh, Bruce...”
Silence filled the room at his statement. Which was both good and bad, really. The arguing finally stopped, but Bruce’s temper seemed to be seething through, his hands balled into fists at his sides and the veins on his neck growing. If he didn’t calm down soon, this wouldn’t end well.
“I got low,” Bruce continued, “I didn’t see an end. So I put a bullet in my mouth and the other guy spit it out.”
As worried as you were in the moment, you couldn’t help but feel for him. You couldn’t imagine how difficult his life must have been. Transforming at random, needing to control your emotions in order to avoid causing irreversible damage.
“So I moved on,” he continued softly, slowly walking backwards, “I focused on helping other people. I was good. Until you dragged me back into this freak show and put everyone here at risk.”
As if unaware he was even doing it, Bruce picked up the sceptre from behind him and gripped it tightly in his hand, his eyes locked on Natasha, “You wanna know much secret, agent Romanoff? You wanna know how I stay calm?”
You took a step back, Tony and Steve doing the same, their eyes also locked on Bruce’s sceptre-wielding hand.
Fury placed one hand on his gun as Steve spoke up, “Dr Banner, put down the sceptre.”

THE  HELICARRIER,  NIGHT
dozens  of  shield  police  escort  loki  to  his  cell,  while  jenny  makes  a  bee  line  for  the  briefing  room,  intent  to  watch  whatever  interrogation  may  occur  from  the  monitors  there.  it  seems  she  isn't  the  only  one  who  feels  this  way,  as  banner,  natasha,  steve,  and  thor  are  all  there.
❛  he  really  grows  on  you,  doesn't  he.  ❜
❛  loki's  gonna  drag  this  out.  so,  thor,  what's  his  play?  ❜
❛  he  has  an  army  called  the  chitauri.  they're  not  of  asgard  or  any  world  known.  he  means  to  lead  them  against  your  people.  they  will  win  him  the  earth.  in  return,  i  suspect.  for  the  tesseract.  ❜
❛  an  army?  from  outer  space?  ❜
an  army  from  outer  space  that  apparently  they  had  no  idea  where  they  originated  from.  jenny  had  to  wonder  how  many  worlds  were  known,  at  least  to  the  asgardian  in  front  of  her.
❛  so  he's  building  another  portal.  that's  what  he  needs  erik  selvig  for.  ❜
                    ❛  selvig?  ❜
                    ❛  he's  an  astrophysicist.  ❜
❛  who  loki  brainwashed,  along  with  others  when  he  first  came  for  the  tesseract.  ❜
                    ❛  he's  a  friend.  ❜
❛  i  wanna  know  why  loki  let  us  take  him.  he's  not  leading  an  army  from  here.  ❜
❛  i  don't  think  we  should  be  focusing  on  loki.  that  guy's  brain  is  a  bag  full  of  cats,  you  could  smell  the  crazy  on  him.  ❜
❛  have  care  how  you  speak.  loki  is  beyond  reason,  but  he  is  of  asgard,  and  he's  my  brother.  ❜
❛  he  killed  eighty  people  in  two  days.  ❜
                    ❛  he's  adopted.  ❜
jenny  shrugged.  beyond  reason  didn't  quite  seem  true,  but  she  wouldn't  protest  to  his  wording.  at  least  not  out  loud.  ❛  i  personally  don't  think  insane  is  the  right  word  for  him.  i  mean,  he  knows  what  he's  doing,  and  i don't  believe  dismissing  him  that  quickly  would  be  in  our best  interests.  he  barely  put  up  a  fight.  no,  for  some  reason,  he  wants  to  be  right  here.  ❜
❛  i  think  it's  about  the  mechanics.  iridium,  what  did  they  need  the  iridium  for?  ❜
❛  it's  a  stabilizing  agent.  ❜  tony  interjected,  walking  in  with  coulson.  ❛  i'll  fly  you  there.  keep  the  love  alive.  means  the  portal  won't  collapse  on  itself  like  it  did  at  shield.  ❜  he  turned  to  thor.  ❛  no  hard  feelings,  point  break.  you've  got  a  mean  swing.  ❜  back  to  banner,  seemingly  switching  topics  every  few  seconds  with  ease.  ❛  also  it  means  the  portal  can  open  as  wide,  and  stay  open  as  long.  ❜  jenny  was  tempted  to  tune  him  out  at  this  point,  actually.  ❛  uh,  raise  the  mid  mast,  ship  the  top  sails.  that  man  is  playing  galaga!  thought  we  wouldn't  notice,  but  we  did.  how  does  fury  do  this?  ❜
                    ❛  he  turns.  ❜
jenny  almost  doesn't  notice  him  placing  something  small under  furys  desk  as  he  inspects  the  monitors.  almost.  choosing  to  stay  silent  however  is  an  easy  choice.  she  wants  to  know  what  fury  is  up  to.  and  it  makes  it  easier  if  someone  else  does  the  tech  digging  for  her.
❛  well,  that  sounds  exhausting.  the  rest  of  the  raw  materials,  agent  barton  can  get  his  hands  on  pretty  easily.  only  major  component  he  still needs  is  a  power  source.  a  high  energy  density,  something  to  kick  start  the  cube.  ❜
❛  when  did  you  become  an  expert  in  thermonuclear  astrophysics?  ❜
❛  last  night.  the  packet,  selvig's  notes,  the  extraction  theory  papers.  am  i  the  only  one  who  did  the  reading?  ❜
jenny  raises  her  hand  to  get  his  attention,  looking  almost  offended  at  the  notion  that  she  didn’t  come  prepared.  ❛  of  course  not.  i  read  it  too.  took  me  a  little  to  understand  it,  it's  old  stuff.  ❜
❛  does  loki  need  any  particular  kind  of  power  source?  ❜
❛  he's  got  to  heat  the  cube  to  a  hundred  and  twenty  million  kelvin  just  to  break  through  the  coulomb  barrier.  ❜  banner  answered.
❛  unless,  selvig  has  figured  out  how  to  stabalize  the quantum  tunneling  effect.  ❜
jenny  straightened  up,  crossing  her  arms.  ❛  well,  if  he  could  do  that  he  could  achieve  heavy  ion  fusion  at  any  reactor  on  the  planet.  ❜
❛  finally.  people  who  speak  english.  ❜
❛  is  that  what  happened?  ❜
tony  and  banner  shake  hands,  while  jenny  just  nods  at  the  pair.
❛  it's  good  to  meet  you,  dr  banner.  your  work  on  anit  electron  collisions  is  unparalleled.  and  i'm  a  huge  fan  of  the  way  you  lose  control  and  turn  into  an  enormous  green  rage  monster.  ❜
                    ❛  thanks.  ❜
❛  dr  banner  is  only  here  to  track  the  cube.  i  was  hoping  you  might  join  him.  ❜
❛  let's  start  with  that  stick  of  his.  it  may  be  magical,  but  it  works  an  awful  lot  like  a  hydra  weapon.  ❜
❛  i  don't  know  about  that,  but  it  is  powered  by  the  cube.  ❜
jenny  stopped  him,  taking  a  step  forward  as  she  interjected.  ❛  is  it?  how  do  you  know  for  sure  the  cube  powered  it?  ❜
❛  i  have  my  reasons.  and  i'd  like  to  know  how  loki  used  it  to  turn  two  of  the  sharpest  men  i  know  into  his  personal  flying  monkeys.  ❜
                    ❛  monkeys?  i  do  not  understand.  ❜
                    ❛  i  do!  i  understood  that  reference.  ❜
she  turned  to  steve,  uncertain  how  monkeys  and  brainwashing  correlated,  ❛  i  did  not,  please  explain.  ❜  she’d  follow  banner  and  stark  afterwards,  possibly  give  any  assistance  she  could  on  either  tracking  the  cube  or  figuring  out  just  what  loki’s  scepter  did.

I’ve Got No Fucking Clue
Chapter 1
Chapter 2
Warnings: There are no warnings for this chapter.
Chapter 3
All of the Avengers, plus Thor although he might be considered an Avenger now, were standing in a room with a monitor in it. They watched as Fury threatened Loki.
“In case it's unclear. You try to escape. You so much as scratch that glass.” Fury pressed a button that opened up the space beneath Loki’s glass cage.
“Thirty thousand feet, straight down in a steel trap. You get how that works?!” Fury asked. “Ant,” Fury points at Loki, “boot.” He points at the button.
“It’s an impressive cage. Not built, I think, for me.” Loki smirks.
“Built for things a lot stronger than you.” Fury says.
“Oh trust me I know.” Loki’s smirk turns towards the camera. In the observation room Douxie and Bruce tense up. Archie starts growling at the screen, at Loki or Fury, Douxie doesn’t know.
“The mindless beast and the last master wizard on Midgard. How desperate are you, that you call upon such lost beasts to defend you?” Loki asks, no longer looking at the camera.
“How desperate am I? You threaten my world with war. You steal a force you can't hope to control. You talk about peace and you kill ‘cause it's fun. You have made me very desperate. You might not be glad that you did.” Fury responds.
“Ooh. It burns you to come so close. To have the Tesseract, to have power, unlimited power. And for what? A warm light for all mankind to share, and then to be reminded what real power is. You would’ve come closer to power if you had used the wizard, his magic is extremely powerful.” Loki taunts.
“We thought about it once, I’m glad we didn’t, he’s a good kid. Let me know if Real Power wants a magazine.” With that Fury walks out of the room.
“Not a kid.” Douxie mumbles as the screen turns black.
“He really grows on you, doesn’t he?” Bruce asked sarcastically.
“Oh yeah, definitely.” Archie answers with even more sarcasm.
“Shit! I forgot you could talk.” Tony startles.
“Loki’s gonna drag this out. So, Thor, what’s his play?” Steve asked.
“He has an army called the Chitauri. They're not of Asgard or any world known. He means to lead them against your people. They will win him the earth. In return, I suspect, for the Tesseract.” Thor uncrosses his arms.
“An army? From outer space?” Steve looks incredulous.
“Wouldn’t be the first one I’ve seen, although the last one was fighting for us not against us.” Douxie says.
“Ignoring what Douxie said for a minute, this means Loki’s building another portal. That’s what he needs Erik Selvig for.” Bruce says.
“Selvig?” Thor asks.
“He’s an astrophysicist.” Bruce answers.
“He’s a friend.” And oh, Thor must’ve met him when he came to Earth a few years ago.
“Loki has him under some kind of spell, along with one of ours.” Nat says, she gets a regretful look on her face. The only ones who notices are Douxie and Archie.
“I want to know why Loki let us take him. He’s not leading an army from here.” Steve says.
“I don't think we should be focusing on Loki. That guy's brain is a bag full of cats, you could smell crazy on him.” Bruce says.
“Have care how you speak. Loki is beyond reason, but he is of Asgard, and he's my brother.” Thor says.
“He’s killed eighty people in two days.” Nat points out.
“He’s adopted.” Thor defends. Douxie gives out a little snort that cause Nat to look at him. She gives him a soft smile before looking away again.
“Iridium, what did they need the iridium for?” Bruce asks.
“It’s a stabilizing agent,” Tony says walking in, he turns to Coulson, “I’ll fly you there. Keep the love alive.” He turns back to everyone else, “Means the portal won’t collapse in on itself like it did at SHIELD.”
Tony turns to Thor, “No hard feelings, Point Break. You've got a mean swing. Also, it means the portal can open as wide, and stay open as long, as Loki wants.”
Tony turns to the crew on the Helicarrier before speaking again, “Uh, raise the mid-mast, ship the top sails. That man is playing GALAGA! Thought we wouldn't notice. But we did.” Tony put a hand around one of his eyes and looks around.
“How does Fury do this?” Tony questions.
“He turns.” Maria Hill says causing Douxie to snort.
“Well, that sounds exhausting. The rest of the raw materials, Agent Barton can get his hands on pretty easily. Only major component he still needs is a power source. A high energy density, something to kick start the cube.” Tony waves his hands around.
“When did you become an expert in thermonuclear astrophysics?” Maria asked.
“Last night. The packet, Selvig's notes, the Extraction Theory papers. Am I the only one who did the reading?” Tony asked.
“I read them, I understood most of it but some things were confusing.” Douxie said. Tony looked at him with approval.
“Does Loki need any particular kind of power source?” Steve asked.
“He's got to heat the cube to a hundred and twenty million Kelvin just to break through the Coulomb barrier.” Bruce answered.
“Unless, Selvig has figured out how to stabilize the quantum tunneling effect.” Tony contradicts.
“Well, if he could do that he could achieve Heavy Ion Fusion at any reactor on the planet.” Douxie says.
Tony smirks, “Finally! People who speak English.”
“Is that what just happened?” Steve asks.
“Yes, although you probably don’t understand it because your old.” Tony says.
“I don’t think age has anything to do with it, I think it has to do with the fact that he was trapped in ice for 70 years.” Douxie says.
“You think an old man could keep up with what we just talked about?” Tony asks.
“I mean I did, and I’m the second oldest person in this room.”
“Your like 19, that’s not old.”
“I’ve been 19 for 900 years.”
“What?!” Multiple people shouted.
“Wizards can choose to stop aging at any time.” Everybody but Nat and Thor looked surprised at this.
“Holy shit that’s so cool.” Nat rolled her eyes at Tony’s antics, even if it was a bit cool.
“Can we get back on topic? We can question the wizard later.” Bruce says.
“Right, it’s good to meet you, Dr. Banner. You're work on anti-electron collisions is unparalleled. And I'm a huge fan of the way you lose control and turn into an enormous green rage monster.” Tony shakes Bruce’s hand.
Bruce looks uncomfortable while he mutters a thanks.
“Dr. Banner is only here to track the cube. I was hoping you might join him.” Fury says walking in.
“Let's start with that stick of his. It may be magical, but it works an awful lot like a HYDRA weapon.” Steve says.
“I don't know about that, but it is powered by the cube. And I'd like to know how Loki used it to turn two of the sharpest men I know into his personal flying monkeys. That’ll be Hisirdoux’s job though.
Douxie nods, ignoring Tony’s snort of amusement when he heard his full name.
“Monkeys? I do not understand.” Thor says.
“I do! I understood that reference.” Steve exclaims. Tony rolls his eyes while Douxie claps his hands sarcastically.
“Shall we play doctor? Harry Potter your coming with us too.” Tony says before he grabs Douxie’s bicep and drags him out with Bruce following.
“Let’s play some.” Bruce says as they walk out.
“I can walk myself thank you.” Douxie says while taking his bicep out of Tony’s grip.
“I know, but we wouldn’t want the old man to throw out his hip while walking.” Tony smirks at him.
“I’m technically still 19, I’ve just stayed 19 for 900 years.” Douxie glared.
“Wait, so you’re physically 19 but mentally you’re 919?” Bruce asks.
“No, he’s physically and mentally 19. Even if he has acquired a lot of knowledge over the past 900 years he still has the maturity of a 19 year old.” Archie says.
“Excuse you, I am very mature.” Douxie tried to defend himself.
“Just last week you were arguing with Seamus and Claire about who had the coolest special magic.” Archie deadpanned.
“I was born with the ability to control fire and to see the future, that’s one more than either of them have by themselves.” Tony and Bruce looked confused as the wizard and familiar argued.
“Who’s Claire and Seamus?” This was Tony that asked.
“And what is special magic?” That was Bruce that asked.
“Claire and Seamus are my apprentices, they’re also like my little siblings. And special magic is magic that you have to be born with. Every wizard is born with regular magic, but there’s also certain magic that you have to be born with to do.
“There’s shadow magic, necromancy, elemental magic, healing magic, and future seeing magic. I was born with the ability to control fire and see the future. Claire can control shadows and even create portals with them. Seamus was born with healing magic.” Douxie said. They had arrived at the lab and were sitting down now.
“Wow, that’s kinda cool.” Tony says. He and Bruce start working on finding the Tesseract. Douxie walks over to the staff and holds his hands above it.
“This is weird.” Douxie states.
“What is?” Bruce asks.
“It doesn’t feel like magic, it feels more like raw energy.” Douxie looks confused. Bruce walks over with a scanner thing in his hands. He holds it out over the staff and moves it around. Tony hasn’t moved from where he’s solving equations.
“The gamma readings are definitely consistent with Selvig's reports on the Tesseract. But it's gonna take weeks to process.” Bruce says.
“If we bypass their mainframe and direct a reroute to the Homer cluster, we can clock this around six hundred teraflops.” Tony says.
“All I packed was a toothbrush.” Bruce states. Tony smiles at Bruce and Douxie.
“You two should come by Stark Tower some time. Top 10 floors, all R&D. You’d love it, and we could use magic to make the best inventions ever.” Tony says.
“If I come, I’m bringing a friend. He’s only 16 but he’s a genius when it comes to technology.” Douxie says.
“What’s his name?” Tony asks.
“Krel Tarron.” Douxie tells him.
“Hmm, I’ll have to look him up.”
“I don’t think that’s a good idea.”
“Why not? Has he done something terrible.”
“He’s not from around here.”
“Is he an immigrant?”
“Kind of.”
“I don’t think it’d be a good idea for me to go, the last time I was in New York I kind of broke...Harlem.” Bruce says, ending their conversation.
“Well, I promise a stress free environment. No tension. No surprises.” Tony says right before he pokes Bruce with a mini electrical rod. Right then, Steve walked in, looking pissed.
Bruce yelps in shock when Tony zaps him. Tony looks at him closely.
“Nothing?” Tony asks.
“Hey! Are you nuts?” Steve exclaims.
“You’ve really got a lid on it, haven’t you? What’s your secret? Mellow jazz? Bongo drums? Huge bag of weed?” Tony continued to question.
“Is everything a joke to you.” Steve asks Tony.
“Funny things are.” Tony deadpanned.
“Threatening the safety of everyone on this ship isn't funny. No offense, doctor.” Steve says.
“No, it's alright. I wouldn't have come aboard if I couldn't handle pointy things.” Bruce says.
“You're tiptoeing, big man. You need to strut.” Tony tells Bruce.
“And you need to focus on the problem, Mr. Stark.” Steve says annoyed.
“You think I'm not? Why did Fury call us and why now? Why not before? What isn't he telling us? I can't do the equation unless I have all the variables.” Tony says.
“You think Fury’s hiding something.”
“He's a spy. Captain, he's the spy. His secrets have secrets. It's bugging them too, isn't it?” Tony points at Douxie and Bruce.
“Uh...I just wanna finish my work here and...” Stammers Bruce.
“Doctor? Douxie?” Steve asks.
“I’m kinda with Tony on this one, sorry Spangles. He knows everything about me but all I know about him is his name.” Douxie shrugs his shoulders. Steve looks disappointed.
“A warm light for all mankind, Loki's jab at Fury about the cube.” Bruce begins.
“I heard it.” Steve cuts him off.
Bruce points at Tony, “Well, I think that was meant for you. Even if Barton didn't post that all over the news.”
“The Stark Tower? That big ugly,” Tony gives Steve a look, “...building in New York?”
“It’s powered by Stark Reactors, self-sustaining energy source. That building will run itself for what, a year?” Bruce turns towards Tony.
“That's just the prototype. I'm kind of the only name in clean energy right now.” Tony says with pride.
“So, why didn't SHIELD bring him in on the Tesseract project? I mean, what are they doing in the energy business in the first place?” Douxie asks, catching onto the point Bruce was trying to make.
“I should probably look into that once my decryption programmer finishes breaking into all of SHIELD's secure files.” Tony says to himself.
“I'm sorry, did you say...?” Steve asks.
“Jarvis has been running it since I hit the bridge. In a few hours we'll know every dirty secret SHIELD has ever tried to hide. Blueberry?” Tony holds out the bag towards Douxie and Bruce. Both of them take a couple and Douxie hands some to Archie.
“Yet you're confused about why they didn't want you around?” Steve says.
“An intelligence organization that fears intelligence? Historically, not possible.” Tony retorts.
“I think Loki's trying to wind us up. This is a man who means to start a war, and if we don't stay focused, he'll succeed. We have orders, we should follow them.” Steve, the good soldier he is, says.
“Following is not really my style.” Tony says.
“Not really mine either.” Douxie states.
“And you're all about style, aren't you?” Steve smiles condescendingly at Tony, completely ignoring Douxie.
“Of the people in this room, which one is; A. wearing a spangly outfit, and B. not of use?” Tony asks annoyed.
“Steve, tell me none of this smells a little funky to you?” Steve looks hesitant at Bruce’s question, but quickly shakes it off.
“Just find the cube.” Steve says before leaving.
“Well that was fun.” Douxie says sarcastically.
“That's the guy my dad never shut up about? Wondering if they shouldn't have kept him on ice.” Tony says.
“The guy's not wrong about Loki. He does have the jump on us.” Bruce points out.
“What he’s got us an ACME dynamite kit. It’s gonna blow up in his face, and I’m gonna be there when it does.” Tony says.
“And I’ll read all about it.” Bruce says back.
“Uh-huh. Or you’ll be suiting up like the rest of us.” Tony tells Bruce. Douxie’s starting to get bored of this conversation so he starts picking at his chipped nail polish.
“Ah, see. I don't get a suit of armor. I'm exposed, like a nerve. It's a nightmare.” Bruce mutters.
“You know, as awesome as this conversation is, I’m getting bored. So I’m going to go repaint my nails and call Claire.” Douxie sticks his tongue out and flashes devils horns before leaving. They wave at him as he leaves before starting their conversation again.
Douxie walks to Nat’s room. She’s just getting ready to leave when he walks in.
“Can I borrow your nail polish, I left mine at home.” Douxie asks. She nods and hands it to him before they both exit the room.
“Where’re you going?” Archie asks.
“To talk to Loki, see if I can get information out of him.” Nat replies. Douxie and Archie nod before they split paths with her.
Walking to his current room, Douxie sits down in the desk chair. He unscrews the bottle and starts to paint his nails. He also gets his phone out and calls Claire before putting it on speaker.
“Douxie! Finally, it’s been two days since you left. What happened to calling?” Claire asks as soon as she picks up.
“Sorry C-Bomb, it’s been a busy few days. We’ve captured the guy that stole the Tesseract but we still don’t know where it is.”
“Who stole it anyways?” Claire asked.
“Loki, Norse god of mischief. He plans to use it to make a portal and summon an army to take over Earth.” Douxie didn’t think he should be telling her this but he didn’t care.
“Shit, your not hurt are you?”
“No Claire, I’m fine. Although this team does not get along very well.”
“I’m fine too, thanks for asking.” Archie says.
“Oh! Sorry Archie I wasn’t aware I was on speaker.” Claire apologizes. Archie just chuckled.
“What are you doing right now?” Claire asks.
“I’m painting my nails, Archie’s trying to take a nap on my pillow I think. What are you doing.” Archie purred in response.
“Homework. Me, Jim, Krel, Seamus, Steve, and Toby are having a study session because we have a test tomorrow. They all say hi by the way.”
“Tell them I say hi too.”
“I did, Toby also needs an answer for his history homework and he can’t find it in his book.”
“What’s the question?”
“Hey Douxie!” Toby says over the phone.
“Hi Tobes, what’s you’re question?” Douxie smiles.
“How did the Black Death start? I can’t remember and I can’t find it in the book.”
“Have you tried googling it?”
“Yes! All it tells me is the number of deaths it caused.”
“Well, people think it was transmitted from rodents to humans by the bite of infected fleas.”
“Oh thanks! Your a life saver.”
“No problem Toby.” Douxie finished painting his last nail before using magic to dry them. He goes into the bathroom, taking his eyeliner pencil with him. He continues to talk to Claire for a few more minutes before they ended the call.
He looked into the mirror and sees bags under his eyes. He sighs before leaning forward and applying the eyeliner.
“How did you forget nail polish but remember eyeliner?” Nat asked. Douxie jumped, luckily not poking his eye or messing up his eyeliner.
“I’ve got no clue.” Douxie says before going back to his eyeliner.
“Hurry up we have a situation.” Nat says.
“What’s going on?” Douxie asks.
“Loki plans to unleash the hulk.”
“Fuzz buckets.” Douxie mutters. He quickly finishes his eyeliner before putting his pencil down and picking Archie up.
Archie yawns before going back to sleep in Douxie’s arms. Nat and Douxie walk out of his room and make their way to the lab.

As part of Jay Cluitt departing host of the Large Association of Movie Blogs (aka the LAMb) LAMBcast huge Virtual Farewell Party - I prepared the following 10 Questions, for my little segment ( #podcast 190:50 "Le Anne is curious about Jay’s viewing habits"  click link to listen to entire show)
I only had time to ask 4 or 5. But thought it would be fun to put the questions out there for any viewers to answer in the comments or share with others…
1.   WHAT MOVIE DO YOU CONVINCE OTHERS TO WATCH?
T&T: Nacho Vigalondo’s COLOSSAL (Anne Hathaway & Jason Sudeikis) not a lot of people have seen it and when I try to explain it’s a Kaiju mixed with a Rom/Com, and a little angsty, it’s hard to convince people all those things mix together perfectly in this flick from 2017.
2. IF YOU’VE SEEN THE MOVIE YESTERDAY (DANNY BOYLE) THE WORLD FORGOT THE BEATLES EVER EXISTED. IF EVERYONE IN THE WORLD EXCEPT YOU SUDDENLY FORGOT THESE 5 CLASSIC POP CULTURE FILMS, WHICH WOULD YOU BE THE SADDEST ABOUT THE WORLD FORGETTING? AND WHICH WOULD YOU TRY TO RECREATE? –
Back to the Future    Star Wars    The Godfather    Groundhogs Day    The Wizard of Oz
T&T: Although, it was hard for me to watch THE WIZARD OF OZ as a child because of all the anxiety I felt about Dorthy being lost and of course those terrifying Flying Monkey’s, I still feel this would be a crushing loss to the world of entertainment, music and imagination if the world forgot.
And I’d remake STAR WARS because I’d like to remove a few battle scenes and add more time for the characters to have bonding moments, plus it would still probably make just as much perpetual loot, if it were made for the first time today.
3.   FAVORITE MOVIE TO FALL ASLEEP TO?
T&T: Carey Grant & Ingrid Bergman in INDISCREET – it’s truly one of my favorites, but I’ve seen it so many times and its pacing and music makes it so comforting to fall asleep watching.
4. PLAY THE GAME MARRY, KISS, KILL WITH THESE 3 MARVEL HEROES – IRONMAN, BLACK PANTHER, THOR (for this game you have to go back in time when everyone was alive both literally & fictionally)
T&T:  This is hard because I’d definitely want to live in Wakanda, but I don’t feel the same kind of chemistry for Black Panther (no offense to the sadly deceased Chadwick Boseman) as I do the other two. As all my friends know I’ve always had a crush on Robert Downey, Jr. and Iron Man’s home life with Pepper Potts looked so lovely, he seemed to settle down well. But Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is so handsome and funny & manly, well, when he’s not in the dumps drinking too much beer.  And of course, he’s the hardest to kill… I don’t have an answer
5. NAME 3 MOVIE YOU STOP AND WATCH WHENEVER YOU CATCH THEM ON TV THAT YOU KNOW ARE NOT GOOD MOVIES?
T&T: LOOK WHO’S TALKING & LOOK WHO’S TALKING TOO & Michael Keaton in DUPLICITY

Pinky Promise
Bucky half-listened to his boyfriend on the phone. Clint was struggling to get a word in edgewise against the torrent of complaints being lobbed at him.
“Jennie,” he said, “What do you mean Sierra broke the test?” He sighed, “Well we already knew that. It’s her legs that don’t work properly. Not her brain.” Clint carded his fingers through his hair and sighed, “I know, I know. Look. I’ll do my best. She can’t keep moving schools like this. She needs some stability or she’s gonna start falling behind. This is the 6th school Eve’s put her in since Kindergarten.” He listens for a second and Bucky watches him. He looks worried. Defeated. And Bucky doesn’t wonder what the call is about. Sierra. His daughter. An 8-year-old with his big blue eyes and dirty blonde hair. The one person in Clint’s life more important to him than anyone else... The one person Bucky didn’t mind being upstaged by, even if he’d not officially met her.
“Okay, Jennie,” he said finally, “we’ll make this a test run. At least if she’s here, she’ll be safer... ish. Tell her I’ll meet the plane when she gets here. And that Nat is dying to make some cookies.” Bucky smiles a little. It seemed like all the avengers had a soft spot for her. Even Steve. Sierra was their little mascot. A welcome distraction from fighting and training. Clint hung up the phone and flopped back on the bed with a groan.
“What’d she break now?” Bucky asked pulling shoes on. Clint smiled a little, “An assessment to see how she was doing in math... The school is saying it’s a glitch and keeps making her retake it.”
“Why?” Bucky asked confused, “Shouldn’t they just put her in calculus or something?”
Clint snorted, “That’s what no one tells you about having a smart disabled kid. For every teacher that treats them like some weird inspirational story about defying odds, there are like two more that treat them like they belong in a freak show.”
Bucky frowned, “What’s the difference?”
“Inspirational kids get hallmark movies,” Clint said bitterly. “I fucking hate this. She’s 8 and she’s a smart kid. Just let her be a smart kid. Stop testing her. Six schools and every school it’s the same thing. The same bullies. The same New Kid thing. They yell at her for being smart then yell at her for dumbing herself down. Then to add insult to injury they shout at her for not playing with the kids that bully her.”
“What are you going to do?” Bucky asked quietly. They’d already talked about it. He knew. Clint wanted to bring her here to live. At least for a little while, until he found a better option. Until Eve would stop leaving her with an Aunt or a Cousin to go try and play rockstar.
“My best,” Clint answered, “She deserves that much.”
_______________
“Dad!”
The voice, his daughter’s voice made him turn and he laughed, throwing his arms out to scoop her up. “Hey, Sunshine!” he says, sweeping her easily up off her feet and hugging her close. She’s slight. A little undersized, a consequence of being born too early and underdeveloped. He knows that under her blue jeans there’s leg braces. But as she spider monkey hugs his torso, he’s too happy to see her to worry about how small she still is.
“Good flight?” he asks, brushing hair out of her eyes, a little anxious. She looks tired but as she nods and rests her head on his shoulder, he decides it’s not serious. That she just needs a nap and a snack. He kisses her head and picks up her little bag. It’s purple and covered in sparkly stickers. Clint reflected happily as he put his sleeping daughter in the car that he loved this and he’d happily keep her this age forever. He buckles her into the booster seat and tucks her stuffed mammoth into her arms gently before walking around to the driver’s side door. Hopefully, he thought, the drive from here to the compound would be a long enough nap. He wanted Bucky to meet her at her feistiest. He deserved to know what he was getting into.
_____
Bucky was trying not to be anxious. Trying, and failing. He didn’t want her to hate him. Or worse still, be afraid of him. He didn’t want to worry about the implications her living there would have to his relationship. But as Clint pulled up slowly, he couldn’t help it.
“Bucky,” Nat said laughing, “Relax, it’ll be okay. You’re not the first boyfriend Clint’s ever had. You’re just the first one he’s introducing.”
“What if she hates me?” he asked.
Nat snorted, “Bucky, it’ll be okay. Just remember, she’s not a doll. Even if Clint carries her around like one... He’s the only one who can.”
As if on cue, Clint got out of the car and unbuckled her booster seat, lifting up the sleepy girl and rubbing her back gently. “Shh,” he soothed, “It’s okay. We’re here. Nat’s waiting on you.” Bucky couldn’t hear Sierra’s murmured reply but it made Clint laugh and cuddle her gently.
“Gimme,” Nat said holding out her arms and scooping the kid up easily, “I missed my partner in crime.” She hefted the slight weight higher on her hip and kissed her head and little arms wrapped around her neck. “Hey, Tasha,” she said rubbing her eyes. “Hey, Princess,” Nat said, “Still waking up, huh?” You nod, yawning and she smiles, ruffling your hair fondly.
Sleepy Blue eyes fixed on him and Clint tugged the end of her ponytail gently, “This is Bucky,” he said, “He keeps me out of trouble when you’re not here.”
“He doesn’t do a very good job,” she says rubbing her eyes, and tracing the new scar on his forearm. Clint snorted, “He’s not had as much practice.”
“You’ll have to show me the ropes,” Bucky said, wrapping his metal arm around Clint’s waist gently. She nods and Bucky watches as she squirms to be put down, awake enough now to want to stand up. Nat obliges easily, setting her down and subtly making sure she’s steady on her own before actually letting go.
“Can I take my braces off now?” she asks.
Clint nods, “We’ll get your stuff up in your room and you can be barefoot for a while. I know. It’s probably not any fun flying with them on. Especially since your feet don’t touch the floor.” She nods and Clint ruffles her hair affectionately. Bucky watches the two of them walk side by side, Clint slowing his steps to accommodate for her shorter legs and her limp. Tony, Bruce, Steve, Thor... They all paused to ruffle hair and get a hug, seemingly oblivious to her fragile little body. Bucky didn’t realize until he saw her up close how small Sierra really was. How easily someone... he could hurt her if he wasn’t careful. It made him want to keep his distance. Watching Clint with her made him feel out of place. A feeling that only intensified by the hour.
The archer was a good dad, if a little absent. He knew exactly what hid kid liked to eat. The names of all her teacher, her favorite subject in school. He had a million pet names and he knew exactly what to do for skinned knees. Mostly, Bucky learned quickly that evening, that Sierra was more self-sufficient than he thought she’d be. That was a comfort. He’d worried that she wouldn’t be able to do... anything really.
Stairs were hard. Pouring drinks from a pitcher was hard. Tying shoes was a nightmare. But it could all be done. It was just... slow. Achingly slow. While irritating, it wasn’t impossible. That was... fine, he guessed. He wasn’t sure what to make of her. She was quiet around him. Stuck close to the people she knew. Not afraid of him but... wary.
As he listened to Clint tucking his daughter into bed, evidently reading a book that she had read dozens of times, complete with silly voices, it was strange. Clint didn’t do silly voices. He wasn’t serious but this was just so... wholesome. There were no dirty jokes. There were no sarcastic answers to questions. He was soft. So very soft. Wrapped around little fingers. Putty in little hands. About the time Clint was covering her face in kisses that made her giggle and tucking her stuffed toy into her arms, Bucky started to feel like he was creepy. Started to feel like he shouldn’t be hearing Clint singing “You are my sunshine” to her softly. He knew Clint did that. That he had since she was a baby. That it was the only lullaby-like thing Clint had ever heard. Or felt right to sing to her.
Bucky felt a little lost. Clint was a human disaster. A snarky asshole. A hero. It was hard to wrap his mind around the idea of Clint also belonging to someone else. A 50 pound 8-year-old with leg braces and a vocabulary that made Bucky feel like an idiot around the time she correctly used the word fascist in a sentence. Watching Clint brush a soft kiss against her head was like watching a scene from a movie. A scene that didn’t necessarily have space for a semi-stable 100-year-old man.
Clint flopped down on the couch with a groan and stretched lazily, “Well. That went well.” he said.
“Did it?” Bucky asked, “She hardly talked to me.”
“She’s kinda like a cat. Give her time and then you’ll miss the quiet.”
“Does Nat miss it?” he asked.
“No,” Clint chuckled, “Someone’s gotta give her an outlet for all her overprotective instincts.”
“Oh no.”
“They have tea parties... and I dread the day Sierra starts dating. Tasha is gonna lose her shit.”
“And you won’t?” Bucky asked quirking an eyebrow.
“I mean... probably? But honestly, I’m more worried about the fate of the first poor boy to break her heart.”
That makes Bucky snort, “Nah,” he teases, “She’s gonna break all the hearts. She’s a cute kid.”
“Thankfully she looks like her mom.”
“Shut up, you’re hot.”
Clint blushed and Bucky stole a kiss, carding fingers through his hair. The reassurance was nice. Clint melted into the touch like he always did, even if he didn’t burn under his hands.
“Thank you,” Clint said quietly when they pulled away.
“For what?”
“For staying. I know you didn’t quite sign up for the Step-Parent gig when you hooked up with me.”
Bucky smiled a little, “I signed up for you,” he said. “Sierra is part of the deal... I just. I just don’t want to hurt her.”
“You won’t,” Clint soothed, “I know you won’t. I wouldn’t have let you near her if I thought you were.”
The Assassin nodded, thinking.
“Penny for your thoughts?” Clint asked after a long moment.
“Does she like the Zoo?”
Clint smiled a little and kissed his head, “She does... We should take her tomorrow. The last hurrah before school.”
“School,” Bucky snorted, “She knows what triskaidekaphobia means... I’d say she doesn’t need school.”
“You’re probably right,” Clint said grinning, “But, she’s gotta do something with her time.”
