In complete seriousness, they need to make laws about ads that say they can take no more than one, maybe two, clicks/taps to close/skip. No more "wait 10 seconds until you can skip the video, wait 10 seconds until you can skip the fake playable ad, wait 5 seconds until you can close the 'download now' overlay, puts up a half-screen in-app appstore pop-up (which at least you can close immediately)." This should literally be illegal to do.

Edit: this is blowing up so I just wanted to add (haha ad) that this was my "reasonable request" I also think there should be way more and way stricter laws around all advertising in general. I think most advertising as we know it today should be abolished.

Primary = elementary, like age 8; secondary = high school, like age 16; post-secondary = university / college, like age 20. Idk where junior high / middle school fall in this kind of division but cutoffs between which "level" of school you're in varies between countries anyway so just decide based on wherever you think it fits.

Doesn't need to be both; if you went to the same school as one parent, that still counts as a yes.

If you or your parents switched schools a lot, if you even once attended the same school as a parent then that counts as a yes.

If you haven't attended a level of schooling, that counts as a no (like if you haven't gone to college yet then you haven't attended the same college as your parents). If you're currently attending, that counts as a yes.

If you only partially don't know, then try to answer to the best of your ability.

There's a word I try to use ALL THE TIME that apparently doesn't actually exist in English. IDK if it does in another language I speak and maybe that's where I picked it up?

I usually go to "facetious," "ostentatious," or "obstinate," but those are not quite it (tho the last is close).

It means something along the lines of "being difficult on purpose, often as an attempt at humor or smugness at the expense of the others in the conversation."

Closely related to contrarianism. It's like... the point in a debate where you realize the person is just arguing for the sake of arguing because it makes them feel better than you. A lot of "um, actually"s are this. The attitude of a person you'd rather just ignore in a discussion because you know responding to them will go nowhere (but oftentimes they insist). Not necessarily rooted in disingenuity though. Might be convinced of their own superiority? Not always though; it's not always done seriously. Might be done in jest but it is still meant to be annoying. Attitude / behavior that you'd say "ok, now you're just being [word]" (if more lighthearted) or "don't be [word]" (if seriously pissed) in response to. Can immediately take a mildly frustrating or exasperating discussion and turn it into seething rage acutely directed at the other person.

#I SWEAR this word has to exist even if not in english because I try to use it all the time! #and also because it's such a recognizable behavior/attitude. I don't think I did a good job explaining it. #the core of it is 'being difficult on purpose' #in practice you wouldn't only use it when the person is doing it on purpose tho; you might say 'ok you're just being [word]' to force them #to confront the fact that they're being Like That (even if unintentionally). #often happens when a person is being obstinate about something that REALLY doesn't matter but they INSIST upon it #anyway. if anyone knows the word I'm looking for please tell me #ThornShadow.said

DON'T like it when everything with anthro characters is compared to Zootopia. Like sometimes they're comparable, but oftentimes they're not! "Zootopia" isn't a genre or a medium or even a style! And especially when the other media predates Zootopia, sometimes by several decades. Redwall is not "medieval zootopia." Bojack Horseman is not "zootopia for adults." Rango is not "western zootopia." Fritz the Cat is not "horny zootopia." Fantastic Mr Fox is not "stop motion zootopia." I stg it's only a matter of time before I see someone call Kung Fu Panda "Chinese zootopia."

Example of an accurate Zootopia comparison: Beastars. They have similar themes of exploring the divide of predator and prey animals, the societal expectations or roles of certain animals, whether or not a predators are inherently killers prone to uncontrollable violence, etc. The fact that they are animals is highly plot-relevant not just a style choice. They're both exploring the social dynamics between different animals, what living in a world of mixed animals means, and what issues exist within it.

#there are many more I've seen but can't comment on with certainty because I don't know what the shows/movies are about. #ex. bna. I've defo seen it called 'anime zootopia' but I don't have a clue what the show is about so for all I know it could be #also foreign films are probably highly susceptible to this. #ppl will be like 'indian zootopia ripoff???' and it'll be a movie that came out a month after zootopia and has an entirely unique plot and #oroginal characters and a unique style and a distinct world but it's 'just like zootopia because one of the main characters is a rabbit!' #original* #whatever #ThornShadow.said
