Tigaanur Series: Part 1 (you’re here!) | Part 2 | Part 3 | MASTERLIST
Summary: It seems so unfair that he is able to touch you and send shivers down your spine when you're not.
Warning: fluffy fluff, a bit of violence, touching? (I don’t know man if you don’t want Din touching you what’s wrong? … maybe I should say nothing in this is sexual, just fluffy hugs ... and lap sitting)
Category: fluff
Words: about 8.000
Notes: Set during season 1 but the events are drawn out over a longer period of time (but they aren’t really mentioned or important)
Note 2: I swear this was supposed to be short. I also have no explanation why this piece exists, I just felt like writing something (mostly) fluffy. I just love this show and this man too much to not write something for it/him. AND there will be definitely more Din on my blog so stay around if you are interested!

“Touch” – Din Djarin x fem!reader
Mando seemed to use every opportunity he had to touch you. At first you didn't really notice it but the subtle brushes against your arms when he walked past you or the light hand pressed against the small of your back when he slid around you soon grew more frequent. Or maybe you just didn't notice them at first or didn't think about them much. You guessed that was just how he acted. That was until you realized that he avoided touching everyone else. When he needed to slide around anyone other than you, he very carefully moved as not to touch them. But with you that wasn't the case.
After a while you noticed that the subtle touches really weren't that subtle after all. And it annoyed you. You liked the way he brushed your skin, not to get you wrong, but it annoyed you how you were denied that kind of sensation, always feeling either leather or fabric. You couldn't give him the same tingle you always felt wandering down your back when he brushed your skin. You knew his armor was part of his creed, he had told you that often enough when you first got to know him. "This is the way" as he always said. And you would never do anything that would harm him and his creed that meant so much to him but the feeling of longing still stayed deep-seated in your heart. And the moment you noticed that your heart sped up whenever he was brushing you, your daily life on the Razor Crest got a lot more complicated.
_______________
You were just standing in the lower level, rocking the little one to sleep in your arms after you had played with him for quite some time. You swore he had to be tired, he was awake for some time now, but the green bean refused to settle down alone. So, you had to rock from side to side on your feet, waiting patiently for his eyes to close. After what felt like ages, the balls of your feet were surly sore, he yawned slightly, making you yawn as well, and then his eyes finally shut and stayed closed. Holding your breath, you stopped swaying for a while, waiting to make sure that he had fallen asleep at last. He didn't open his eyes again as soft snores left his mouth. With a relieved smile you put him down in his little sleeping quarters as careful as possible. Finally letting out the breath you were holding you took a step back only to bump into something, or rather someone. Startled you flinched and were barely able to clasp your hands over your mouth to hold back the yelp that threatened to escape otherwise. You would have cursed yourself if you had woken the little one up again.
With your back against his chest, you felt your body freeze up, your mind blank. Unable to turn around you just stayed still, breathing in sharply to recover from the shock. Normally you would have heard him, you grew more accustomed to notice the small noises he would make over the time you had now spent on his ship but it seemed like your tired mind had filtered them out this time. "Sorry" the Mandalorian said and stepped back. However, he stayed so close behind you that you swore you could still feel the mixture of his body warmth and the coldness of his armor springing over to you. Slowly you let your hands fall down again but stayed facing the child instead of the man behind you. Your heart was still beating violently against your chest and your face felt like it was burning from embarrassment. You heard him shuffle, and you knew instinctively that he was peeking over your shoulder to look at the child.
"He's finally asleep" you whispered after you were sure your voice wouldn't waver, knowing without him saying anything or looking at him that this was what he wanted to know. You also knew that he probably was nodding when he didn't speak up again. You stood like that in silence for a few moments, your thoughts racing. "Do you-" you started and turned your head to take a peek at the Mandalorian. He really was still standing right behind you, his head slightly lowered to look over your shoulder. Was he watching the child or was he looking at you? You couldn't tell right now, his eyes always hidden behind the dark t-shaped visor. He stood so close that you could see your reflection in the shiny metal of his helmet. "Do you want to rest?" you finished your question, knowing that he had been awake for quite some time now, your voice soft and quiet. 'Only so the child wouldn't wake up' you told yourself but you knew you were lying. His head tilted to you, so you knew he was looking at you right now, though if he was already doing that before or not, would forever stay a mystery. He nodded. You returned the gesture, now turning around fully to face him. He straightened up but still didn't take a step back, his armored chest now only a few inches away from yours. He stood so close that you had to tilt your head back to look into his eyes, or rather the visor hiding his eyes. You had no idea how they looked like and probably would never get to know that but that didn't hinder your from imagining them. You never pictured a specific color but you always imagined them as warm and with a darkness to them that made them frightening to the ones who didn't know him but welcoming to the ones that did. You noticed that you were staring for too long. "I'll be in the cockpit" you stated hesitantly, not sure how to act and walked around him before you could make an even bigger fool of yourself. The faint brush of his gloved fingers against your arm as you walked past him didn't stay unnoticed anymore, as well as the shiver running down your back.
_______________
Normally you would sit in one of the co-pilot seats, glancing at Mando when he piloted his ship from time to time, but you had decided to settle down onto the pilot seat for now. The Mandalorian didn't need it right now and that seat was definitely the more comfortable out of the three. With your legs stretched out and your arms crossed before your chest you looked out of the window, staring at all the light-streaks passing by. The autopilot was activated so you didn't have to do anything and could just relax. With a sigh you let yourself sink deeper into the seat, your spine curved and your head resting on your shoulder. After one eventful day after the other you really needed this, quiet and relaxation. You didn't mean to fall asleep right there in the pilot seat but the smooth movement of the Razor Crest slowly lulled you to sleep.
Your dreams were often plagued by the things you had experienced the days before, merged with vivid images that left you confused after waking up. You couldn't remember the last time you had a through and through pleasant dream, probably before you had decided to join the Mandalorian but that seemed so long ago now. So, whenever you were asleep a part of your mind always stayed alert. That was why you jerked awake immediately when you felt something touch your shoulder. Your body was awake in the matter of seconds, your mind following with a slight delay so you were unable to register who it was. You wanted to jump up in fear but the hand on your shoulder gently pressed you back down. Your heart hammered painfully against your ribs in panic for a few more seconds before you finally realized that it was only Mando. Your fear vanished in an instant and instead you yawned and rubbed your still sleepy eyes, trying to ignore his resting hand that had wandered closer to your nape. You failed miserably.
"How long-" "About three hours" he answered before you were able to finish your questions. "But you can get some more rest." You nodded and tried to let yourself relax back into the chair, however his hand on you made every little hair on your body stand up with anticipation. You heard the faintest rumble from Mando's helmet, which shot a tingly sensation down your back. It almost sounded like a chuckle. "I need the seat" he said and you were fairly sure you could hear the smile on his lips. "There are two perfectly fine seats left" you stated with a grin on your lips and closed your eyes, slowly growing more comfortable with his touch on you. To be honest, it was quite nice. You couldn't feel his skin on you but you felt his body heat that loosened your tense muscles bit by bit. "I need that seat" he repeated more pressing this time but still in a lightweight manner. You stayed put for a few moments more, enjoying his feather-light touch and the warmth on your skin for a few moments more before you groaned and stood up, his hand sliding from your shoulder in the process. You walked past Mando, noting how he ever so slightly moved his hand so it would brush against your own, and let yourself fall down on the seat to his right, too tired to go to your makeshift bed in the lower level. He stood beside you and glanced at you for a while, his helmet stayed slightly turned to you, you knew even after you had closed your eyes. Then you heard him shift and sit down on the pilot's seat. You crossed your arms before your chest and stretched out your legs again, trying to make the seat as comfortable as possible even without his warmth to soothe you.
"Why are you awake after only three hours?" you asked after a few minutes filled with silence, your eyes still closed. When Mando went down to sleep he never stayed asleep for long but you felt like it had a reason other than needing to be alert and looking after the ship this time. He also rarely answered right away, but you felt like he hesitated a bit more than usual. You opened one eye to see him stiff and frozen in the seat, his helmet facing the endless blackness of space. You immediately knew what was wrong, having felt the same way far too often. "Nightmares?" He didn't need to answer for you to know. "I have them, too" you continued, hoping that it would let him feel at least a bit comforted. You observed him while he busied himself with flipping switches and turning buttons for no other reason than to appear occupied. You huffed and rolled your eyes at the stoic Mandalorian. When he finally leaned back and let his arms dangle beside him stiffly you let your eyes wander to his gloved hand. Hesitating you reached for it. If he noticed what you were up to, he didn't let it show. Taking all the courage you had in you, you interlaced your fingers with his, immediately you felt his warmth again that made you relaxed. His body, however, went rigid. You waited, your eyes still trained on him, but when nothing changed you worried that you had overstepped. You withdrew your hand immediately only for him to grab it. Startled you paused, squeezing his hand as if to ask if it was okay. He squeezed back, his muscles finally relaxing under your touch.
"It's okay to have nightmares" you said, worried that he was avoiding to answer you just because he didn't want to appear weak. "You don't have to talk with me about them if you don't want to, but know that you don't have to be alone in this." You closed your eyes again after that and drifted back to sleep, not noticing how he turned his head towards your interlaced hands and then to your face, never seeing the small smile that grazed his lips underneath the helmet.
When you woke up you were prepared to no longer feel your hand in his, only to realize that they were still interlocked. Confused you paused and just stared at your intertwined fingers before looking at the Mandalorian on the pilot seat. He still sat there like before, his other arm dangling down (not as stiff as before anymore), both feet firmly planted onto the ground and his head facing the window. You couldn't tell if he was awake or not. You didn't know what to do. Should you just stay put? But if he had fallen asleep and would wake up like this it definitely would be awkward. But ... if he wasn't asleep and already awake right now, he definitely knew you were awake too and it would be even more awkward. You tugged at his hand to test the waters. He didn't react so maybe he really was still sleeping? Not taking any chances you freed yourself from his grip and stood up quietly. You needed something to drink right now, or a cold shower at best because you already felt your cheeks burning up again. With your head low you didn't see his head had turned ever so slightly into your reaction, watching you as you left to climb down the ladder.
_______________
You had no idea how to act around him after that. The touches didn't stop, he still brushed you every now and then and you hold his hand wordlessly whenever you knew he had another nightmare. But you didn't know how far you could and were allowed to go. Somehow you were afraid of scaring him away, of overstepping. But after many months of only the three of you traveling through space you got a bit touch-starved. You felt yourself lean into his touches more often than not. So, you didn't want to do anything that would lead for him to stop that.
You didn't really have much time to think about all that anyway as the child often required all your attention when you weren't fighting or hurrying back to the Razor Crest. Like you were right now. You had volunteered to go to the marketplace to get a few more provisions, Mando obviously not very happy about that but you managed to convince him to let you go. It wasn't a particular dangerous planet and you didn't intend to be gone for more than two hours anyway. Also, you definitely did not stand out that much unlike him with his distinctive armor. However, maybe you should have known that life always had other plans. After all, you had never planned to end up traveling the galaxy with a Mandalorian and his adoptive son. You were just sliding the last of your shopping money to the salesman, your two hours almost over, when you saw someone sneak towards you out of the corner of your eye. How you knew they were here because of you? Let's just say your instincts got a lot better after many months of fleeing and fighting and being constantly alert. You didn't wait for your change, grabbed your supplies, putting them into the bag that was strapped on over your shoulder and hurried into the large crowd. You tried to remember the things Mando had taught you, how to act if someone should ever be after you when he wasn't there. At first you had to try and lose the person. If that wouldn't work you had to find a more active way to get rid of them. However, what you hadn't considered was that maybe that person wasn't alone. So, when you ran into someone and they grabbed you by the shoulders you knew you were in a lot more trouble than you had thought. Before you knew it, you were trapped between three larger men. Your breath hitched in your throat when they slowly shoved you to the side of the street, away from the curious eyes.
With your back facing a wall you let your eyes dart between the three men. One of them stood to either of your sides and the last one was standing directly in front of you. There was no way for you to escape. "We know you have him" one of them said, shoving you hard so that your back collided with the wall. You gulped, swallowing down your fear and tried to clear your thoughts. You had to stay focused. "Who? If you didn't notice I'm alone" you put on an annoyed expression and gestured around you. Maybe you could convince them that you weren't the one they were looking for. "You hid him! Where?" the one to your left snarled. "Maybe you didn't hear me the first time so I'll repeat myself: Who are you talking about?" you spat back. You couldn't let them see your fear. "The child!" the one who had shoved you spoke up again. "I don't have a child."
"We know you travel with the Mandalorian" the one to your right said, a wide grin on his lips. For some reason that made your blood run cold. "And we know who you are. But you don't seem to know the price that is written above your head." This time you couldn’t mask the shock that was showing in your wide eyes. "Price?" your voice very noticeable cracked. The man nodded. You froze, blinking quickly, not processing what they just told you. You ... you had a bounty on your head? This wasn't good, not at all. You, Mando and the Child had to leave this planet immediately. You had to get away from them. "I'm sorry, I think you have the wrong person" you said and tried to walk past them but they shoved you back against the wall, pinning you against it. The man that was pressing your shoulder against the cold wall fished a puck out of his pocket, activating it for you to see your face. You bit your tongue and gulped, before your face hardened. You had to get back to the Razor Crest.
"Don't touch me" you snarled with your fists clenched. With your mind on autopilot, you lunged at the man, punching him straight in the face. He reeled back, holding is bleeding nose. Immediately you leaped forward, trying to escape through the small gap you had created between the three men. However, the one to your right grabbed your bag, pulling you back. Spinning around you used the momentum and jumped against the man's legs that gave out beneath him with a deafening crunch. He howled in pain, letting go of you to curl around himself and protect his injury. When you turned around to try and escape again your breath was knocked out of you. You leaned forward by instinct, wrapping your arms around your side, where you've got hit by a blade. You had no time to recover or even think about the blood seeping through your fingers as the next blow hit your jaw. You let out a gargling scream, unable to hold it back, as the pain exploded in your face. By the way your vision turned dark for a split second you knew that your jaw was dislocated. The pain immediately pulsed through your whole body, leaving you strangely dizzy and nauseous and gasping for air, which only lead for the pain to get even worse. Disoriented you just stood there, hunched over with tears in your eyes. You were too unfocused on your surroundings, too consumed by the pain, to see the next hits coming. With a hard kick to your stomach, you hit the floor.
Maybe you blacked out, or maybe your brain just decided to turn itself off so you wouldn't feel the pain of the hits that followed. You knew you were repeatedly kicked into your stomach and side, against the knife wound. But you didn't really register that, you only managed to curl into yourself so at least your stomach would be protected, the hits to your side, however, didn't stop. Your mind was blank. You couldn't tell how long exactly you laid there on the floor. It could have lasted only a few seconds or an hour and you wouldn't have known the difference anymore. It felt like an eternity and only a heartbeat when it all suddenly stopped. You felt the heat hovering over your cowering form and only when you opened your blurry eyes and saw the fire above you. The two men screamed in terror as they ducked away, the jacket of one of them had caught fire. The two grabbed their friend who was also still on the floor and disappeared, leaving only the burning jacket behind. You let your body stretch out the moment the fire stopped, finally feeling safe again, though your mind was still dizzy and the pain still racing through your body, only vaguely remembering your bleeding wound. You saw a shadow leaning over you, hearing something but you couldn't match the voice to any face. Closing your eyes again you furrowed your brows as the pain got unbearable. Then you felt hands on your dislocated jaw. Your eyes snapped open one heartbeat before he forced your jaw back into its regular position. You screamed, pushing against him to get him off of you but he didn't move an inch.
"(Y/N)" a modulated voice said, as he caught your hands in his. Your screams died down and only heavy breathing was left, you had no energy left to do anything else. Your jaw still hurt but not as bad as before. "Calm down." You blinked a few times until finally realizing who was kneeling next to you, finally matching the distorted voice to the shiny helmet that was staring down at you. You opened your mouth, wanting to speak up but immediately another wave of pain shot through you. Cringing in pain you only let out a pathetic wheeze and clutched your side. "Can you stand?" You shook your head without even trying what he asked you to, knowing that your body ached too much to even move on your own. With your consciousness constantly fazing in and out you only vaguely realized that he had picked you up and began to carry you back to the Razor Crest. The mix of warmth and coldness radiating from him and the pain numbing your side eventually lulled you into a restless slumber.
When you awoke neither in the cockpit nor your improvised bed but what seemed to be a metal box, you immediately panicked. With your heart racing your first reaction was to sit up, only for your side to explode in pain. A sharp yelp escaped your lips as you let yourself fall back. Whimpering in pain you stayed still, clutching your side. "(Y/N)?" You raised your head as far as possible to see Mando standing before the only opening to the box. That was the moment you realized that you were lying in his bed and your heart slowed in relief. Before it sped up again when you realized where you were lying. "What-" you began to distract yourself from that thought, only for Mando to already guess your question and answer it. "A dislocated jaw, a knife wound and severely bruised ribs." You tried to sit up again, but this time very carefully and slowly. With a wince you managed to straighten up enough to crawl to the end of the box and face the Mandalorian standing before you. "I can feel that" you whispered with gritted teeth. You peeked up at Mando but he stayed silent. Even without seeing his face you could feel the death stare through the darkness of his visor. Lowering your head, you wrapped your arms around your middle. "I'm sorry." The Mandalorian stayed put for a few moments before a sigh left his lips. "No, I'm sorry." Confused you looked up again, raising one eyebrow. "For what?" "For not being there." You sighed and stood up, clutching your side with one hand while holding yourself upright with the other one by grabbing the corner of the box. "It's not your fault" you pressed out between clenched teeth before you froze up. Patting down your side as lightly as possible you furrowed your brows before lifting your head to meet Mando's gaze behind the helmet. "Did you bandage me up?"
You could feel him stiffen up even more as a noise similar to an embarrassed sounding cough left his mouth. "Yes." You let out a chuckle which fell short when you whimpered once more in pain. At about the same time you felt your legs tremble and give out under you. Mando reacted immediately, catching you with his hands under your armpits before you could fall anywhere near the floor. You hissed, tears sprang in your eyes right away. Slowly he sat you down on his bed again, letting his hands rest on your shoulders for a while longer as if to reassure himself that you were alright. Then he pulled them back only for you to grab one and squeeze it tightly. "Thank you" you whispered. He didn't say anything and just squeezed back for a few moments. Then he placed his other hand on top before letting go and taking a step back. "You should get some more rest" he said sounding strangely flustered. You nodded and wanted to stand up to lie down in your own small bed only for him to gently press you down with one hand on your shoulder. You looked up at him with a puzzled look in your eyes. "You can sleep in there it's ... a bit more comfortable." You felt your face heat up and eyes grow wide. "O-okay" you said and shifted awkwardly. You two stared at each other for a while before he turned to climb up the ladder, leaving you alone and flustered in his bed.
_______________
Something you had forgotten to buy on that planet was more medicine. And not wanting to use up everything Mando had, your injury needed a few more weeks to heal than maybe necessary. A few weeks in which you mostly lied in Mando's bed. It still made you flustered. Now, after over a month you were at least able to walk again, though the bruises on your side were still a dark blue and the stiches on your side formed into a scar. Which was the reason why you were climbing up the ladder to the cockpit right now. You needed Mando's help with the medicine and bandages. You gritted your teeth and forced yourself to reach for the next rung. Climbing up the ladder was a nightmare. Of course, you could have called for him but the little one had just fallen asleep and you definitely didn't want to wake him up any time soon.
"Mando?" you announced yourself when you walked to the cockpit even though he must have heard your cursing while climbing the ladder. He turned towards you. Catching your breath, you leaned against the doorway and held up the fresh bandages and ointment. "I need your help with these." He nodded and stood up, guiding you to one of the co-pilot seats in which you sat down with a hiss. "Why didn't you just call me?" he asked as you tried to get out of your shirt. "I didn't want to wake the kid" you answered before letting out a frustrated sigh because you were unable to get the shirt over your head. Your side hurt a lot again today, making you incapable of raising your arms while simultaneously grabbing your top. Without saying a word the Mandalorian grabbed the ends of your shirt tugging lightly at them to signal you to raise your arms. Hesitantly you did as he requested and without much effort, he rid you of your shirt. He had helped you a lot over the past few weeks but never had he been the one to get your shirt off. Flustered you stared at the ground, refusing to meet his visor while he continued to work wordlessly on your bandages. You tried to ignore his feather-light touches against the skin of your stomach, back and sides but you once again failed miserably. His gloved fingers left goosebumps wherever they brushed your skin. Subconsciously you felt yourself lean into him, your muscles relaxing under his warmth and care. You, however, weren't oblivious to the fact that his touches lingered a few seconds longer on your skin than necessary. When he brushed the skin inches underneath your bra your head shot almost instinctively around to face him. Your eyes wide and round, staring at him in shock and curiosity. He paused, his hands on your back and side. You swore you could hear his pulse quicken but maybe it was just yours thrumming in your ears. His helmet only slightly tilted down as he continued, keeping his eyes trained on your face. You knew this time without seeing them. When he was done with it, he helped you back into your shirt. His hands hovering over your hips for a second too long to seem only accidental. You let out a barely audible huff at that.
"Thank you, Mando." He stiffly nodded and returned to his seat in the middle of the cockpit. You stayed put on the co-pilot seat, took one of the painkillers you had brought with you before continuing to stare outside the window, your thoughts running circles in your head. "Mando?" you asked quietly after a while, your eyes heavy and constantly fluttering closed due to the pill you took. Damn, those things made you sleepy. He hummed but didn't turn around. You yawned, trying to clear the thoughts in your tired mind. Maybe you would have hesitated if you weren't so tired, normally you would have definitely never asked him the following question but your exhausted mind didn't care. "Do you like me?" Even with your eyes half closed you saw Mando freeze mid-motion.
While you sat there in the co-pilot seat, your thoughts trudging through the fog of being half asleep, the thoughts of the Mandalorian were racing, eyes wide underneath the helmet. He didn't dare to turn around, only lowered his head in perplexed shock. He cleared his throat, failing to cover it up with a cough before speaking up. "Yes ... I like you." He turned his head enough to see you out of the corner of his eyes, to catch your reaction. You hummed in response and closed your eyes as a small smile grazed your lips. "I like you, too" you mumbled, barely audible before falling asleep in the co-pilot seat.
_______________
You couldn't belief you had asked him that. You never felt so embarrassed. You had no idea how to act around him now. If you should speak with him about it or if you should just ignore that it ever happened. Luckily, the Mandalorian had decided to not ask you about it when you had woken up so you just went along, pretending it never happened.
That was now about two months ago. By now your injury was finally completely healed and you could move without hindrance again. That also meant no more lingering touches from Mando though. You tried to not be too sad about that and instead enjoyed the rare occasion of holding his hand even more than before. You felt like he enjoyed it too whenever he had a nightmare, his muscles always relaxed within seconds. Not today though. The second he walked back into the cockpit after only two hours of sleep you suspected that something wasn't right. When you intertwined your hand with his after he had sat down and he didn't relax how he normally would you knew something was definitely not right. "Mando?" you asked, scooting closer to the edge of the seat and leaning forward to look at his visor as he stoically continued to stare in front of him. "Are you alright?" He didn't respond. You jumped up abruptly, startling the Mandalorian as he span around in his chair to face you. With a soft but stern face you tugged at his hand that was still in yours until he followed your lead and stood up. You knew he was confused you could almost see him raise an eyebrow at you from behind the helmet. But all those worries of overstepping you had for so long vanished in an instant. Without saying anything you stepped forward and wrapped your arms around him, pressing the side of your face against the cold beskar on his chest. He went as rigid as when you first held is hand all those months ago. He inhaled sharply, his arms stiff and uselessly raised as if he suddenly didn't know what to do with them. You could have hugged a rock and it would have felt the same, still you didn't let go. "It's okay" you only said, not wanting to pressure him into answering anything he didn't want to. It felt like ages, the beskar slowly warmed up under your touch, when you felt movement coming from him. You didn't lift your head however, afraid he would just scold you for hugging him, thinking he was just going to tear you away from him. You hadn't expected for him to relax and slowly wrap his arms around you, too. Embarrassed you had to note that you were the one to stiffen up now. But your body soon melted against his again when you felt his hand run through your hair. You couldn't suppress the sigh that escaped over your lips. The warmth that suddenly radiated from him gave you a feeling of belonging you quickly found yourself addicted to when you tightened the hug, as if to make sure this was real, he was real. That he was hugging you was real. You couldn't believe that the Mandalorian was hugging you back.
If felt like an eternity and only a few seconds at the same time when you felt him move again. However, this time to end the hug. Already missing the warmth and feeling of belonging you reluctantly let go, your head lowered. Or at least you had wanted to stare at the ground in awkwardness again but Mando tilted your chin up with one finger. He didn't say anything when your wide eyes met his dark visor. He didn't even say anything when he brushed a strand of your hair behind your ear with such a softness that left you breathless. Your mouth fell open in shock and confusion but also surprise and longing. You wanted to reach out again, reach out to him but the intimate moment of softness ended within seconds. He took a step back and sat back down into the pilot seat, leaving you with your mouth and eyes wide open. He didn't need to say anything for you to understand that he had just thanked you. However, it left you even more confused.
_______________
You were on the lower level, playing with the Child when the Razor Crest suddenly shook violently, almost throwing you and the little one in your arms to the ground. Grabbing the rungs of the ladder leading up you managed to hold you upright. One second later a strident alarm started howling in your ears, making the little one squeak in discomfort. You hushed him, rocking him in your arm until another shockwave hit the ship. With your brows furrowed you looked up the ladder. As careful as possible since you only had one free hand you climbed up.
"What is happening?" you yelled over the shrill siren as you stumbled through the entrance to the cockpit. You only barely caught yourself by the doorway, the Child protectively pressed against your chest as the Crest rocked again. "Bounty hunter" Mando growled and flipped a few switches. The alarm finally stopped. You let out a sigh in relief and walked to the right of the Mandalorian, where the child's crib was seated on the co-pilot seat. You had just put the kid into its orb where it would be more stable and safer and wanted to walk to the other co-pilot seat when another shot hit the ship. You yelped and stumbled backwards, crashing against Mando and landing in his lap. You had no time to stand up and sit down in the other co-pilot seat, you didn't even have time to think about being flustered as he immediately wrapped one arm around your middle, pinning you in place. "Hold on" he said before immediately bringing the ship straight down. You yelped and wrapped your arms around his neck and shoulders instinctively, pressing yourself against his chest as your stomach flipped in fear. He spiraled around, trying to lose the bounty hunter who was after you but they followed his every move and turn. "I can bring you in warm or I can bring you in cold, Mando!" the bounty hunter snarled over the com, making your blood run cold as another round of hits shook the Razor Crest. You could hear the growl rising in Mando's throat, vibrating against your chest. Your face was definitely as hot as the lava rivers of Nevarro by now. The Mandalorian let go of your waist and frantically pushed some buttons before he grabbed another switch, speeding up even more. Everything you had wanted to say, every word of protest was stuck in your throat as you just clung onto him, burying your head in the crook of his neck. Then he braked so suddenly that you almost fell off of him, since he also was pulled forward by the force of the sudden stop. You were sure you let out another yelp as you tightened your arms around him, clenching your eyes shut. Something hit the ship again and when you opened one eye to take a peek you saw the ship of the bounty hunter in front of you now. "That's my line" Mando grumbled, and looked down at the aiming device that peeped before locking onto the other ship. Mando shot once, making the other ship exploded immediately.
After all that chaos and noise, the sudden silence seemed almost deafening. You stayed put on top of Mando, your arms still squeezing tightly around his shoulders. You were only able to let out a shaky breath as the stiffness of your body suddenly left you and you deflated like a sad balloon. Then you began to shake as the adrenaline left your body as well. You let out another shaky breath that almost sounded like a short, hysterical chuckle. Your heart beat so hard against your ribs you feared it would break them. You turned to face the t-shaped visor, your eyes wide and panic-stricken. "Let's not do that ever again. That was frightening!" you stuttered, burying your fingers into Mando's cape in a desperate attempt to ground you. The Mandalorian chuckled lowly, the rumble of it echoing in your chest. "I think it's quite nice" he retorted rather smug. You paused. He wasn't talking about the chase, was he? Was he ... referring to you still sitting in his lap? Bewildered, because you would have never suspected him to imply anything like that, you silently blinked at him, suddenly very aware of his arm he had sneaked around your middle again. Your heart sped up even more, if that was even possible. You could almost feel the heat of his gaze on you, or maybe your face was just warming up because of your flustered state. "Mando, I-" you started but got interrupted by the Child's squeals. Your and Mando's gaze immediately shot to him. He let go of your waist as you jumped up, cradling the little one in your arms to check if everything was okay. Luckily, he wasn't hurt, instead he much rather still seemed excited by the wild ride. You let out a relieved sigh. "Is he alright?" the Mandalorian asked and when you turned around to face him, he was staring straight forward, refusing to meet your gaze. Pretending as if he hadn't just told you he liked you on his lap.
_______________
Normally you were the one to initiate hand holding or a hug but this time you were the one to wake up in a cold sweat. You sat up straight in your makeshift bed, your hands shaking violently while your heart hammered against your ribs. With trembling legs, you stood up, glancing at the kid sleeping soundly before climbing up the ladder. You stood in the entrance to the cockpit before you knew what you were doing. But when you laid eyes onto Mando's helmet you froze, your words stuck in your throat. The Mandalorian, however, had already heard you approach and turned around to meet your teary eyes. Still shaking like a leaf in a storm you wrapped your arms around yourself and looked down. Why were you even up there? With your thoughts racing you didn't register him standing up, or coming to a halt in front of you. Only when he wrapped his arms around you did you realize what he was doing. He was pressing you against him, hugging you. Your breath hitched and for a moment you felt stiff and perplex before you melted into his touch. Also wrapping your arms around him you pressed your forehead against the cold beskar armor. You couldn't hold back the one, single sob that had caught in your throat as you buried your fingers in the fabric of his cape, craving his touch, wanting to be even closer, wanting more. He didn't say anything, just slowly stroked over your head, tracing his fingers through your hair to soothe you. You couldn’t tell how long you stood there like this but it didn't really matter anyway, eternity couldn't be long enough.
When your mind and body finally calmed down, you had one question burning in your head you needed to ask. After all those weeks of pretending there was nothing said or done you couldn't keep quiet any longer. "Mando, what is this?" The Mandalorian stayed quiet for a while, delaying his answer as per usual. "A hug." You let out a dry laugh and shook your head. "No, I mean-" you started but bit your lip. Pressing the side of your face against his chest instead of your forehead you let out a sigh. "What is this ... to you?" The Mandalorian stiffened immediately and you feared you had screwed up. The ship stayed alarmingly quiet you could only hear your heart pumping the blood through your ears. "I'm sorry, you don't have to answer" you whispered and let go of him, ready to climb back down and hide in the covers of your bed forever. But the Mandalorian's arms stayed wrapped around you even when you pressed your hands against his chest in a weak attempt to get free. "It's ... nice" he said, sounding almost frightened. Confused you tilted your head up to stare into the black visor of his helmet. "Do you like me?" he asked quietly but with a smug undertone to it. You could only imagine his proud grin underneath that helmet. "Don't mock me!" you laughed and gave him a nudge against his shoulder which only made him chuckle. The laughter stopped after a while, left the Razor Crest completely silent again while you shyly smiled up at him. "But yes, I do like you" you answered, feeling your face heat up. Mando remained almost frozen for a few seconds before he placed his head on top of yours, pressing your head gently in the crook of his neck with one hand while his other stayed on the small of your back. "I like you, too" he responded, quoting you from all those weeks ago. He chuckled lightly but you felt it rumble in your chest anyway. You closed your eyes, smiling into the crook of his neck. It felt peaceful, like home. And even though you were standing you felt yourself drift back to sleep when he unraveled one of your arms you had wrapped around his middle. Even though you were confused you stayed tugged under his head and let him continue, eyes closed in relaxation. But when he intertwined his fingers with yours, your eyes shot open. You froze, your mouth opened and closed several times without producing a sound. You pushed him away by pressing your free hand against his chest, staring at the one that was in Mando's. You didn't feel the leather of his gloves on your skin like all those times before, no, this time you felt his skin. "Mando!" you exclaimed, your eyes wide in shock before they darted to his helmet. "Is this even allowed? Oh, kriff!" You closed your eyes even though it wouldn't make a difference anymore, the image of his tan skin had already burned itself in your memories. "Your creed, I don't know-" you panicked, stumbling over your own words. However, the sound of his laughter made you pause. Opening one eye you peeked up at him. He shook his head, still chuckling, then he held up your hand with his ungloved one so you would look at them again. "It's alright" he only said. You relaxed and let yourself fall against his chest again in relief, taking in a deep breath. Lightly you traced your fingers over the back of his hand, feeling many little scars, each of them wanting to tell you their story. But surprisingly, even with all his scars and even knowing what his profession was, knowing how he was raised, they felt almost soft, strong but in a way shy. He returned your gesture, tracing the back of your hand as well. After all, this was also his first time feeling your skin. Your breath hitched, as his other hand slowly wandered from the small of your back to your waist, tracing your curves. Out of instinct you leaned into him and his touches, a soft sigh leaving your lips.
That was the exact moment you could hear the cry of the Child echo through the ship. Deflated you let out a groan, lightly slamming your forehead against his armor in frustration. "Every time" you mumbled, earning another chuckle from the Mandalorian. He squeezed your hand one last time before letting go of you. You smiled up at him silently before going down to see after the kid.
After two hours the Child had fallen asleep again after some food and much convincing. You had climbed the ladder back up and were now standing in the doorway to the cockpit again, a coy smile on your lips as you watched Mando occupied with the controls of the ship. When he was finished, he leaned back and stretched his still ungloved hand out to you, not turning to face you, but you knew he was asking you to hold it again. You chuckled and grabbed his hand immediately, ready to sit down beside him only for Mando to pull you towards him. Before you knew what happened you found yourself in his lap with your feet dangling over him and down his right side once more. Blinking confused you turned to face him. He tilted his head in question as if to ask you if it was okay. You only squeezed his hand and smiled, letting yourself fall against his chest, head resting on his shoulder. Every last bit of tensions left your muscles as you yawned, nestling your face against his neck, enjoying the comfort that his skin gave to you. The warmth and safety that radiated from the Mandalorian slowly lulled you to sleep.

“Embrace” - Din Djarin x female!reader
Tumblr media
Tigaanur Series: Part 1 | Part 2 (you’re here!) | Part 3 | MASTERLIST
Summary: The first time you slept next to the Mandalorian definitely wasn’t that comfortable. The second time would have been a lot better … if you could have fallen asleep in his embrace.
Warning: the fluff continues, a bit of violence/near death experience? (honestly ... is that news in that series?), more touching and bed sharing, suggestive themes, Hmmm slow-burn romance! My favorite ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Category: fluff
Words: about 8.000
Notes: The sequel to “Touch” is here! You don’t have to read the first part necessarily but I would suggest it because some things are references you might understand better if you read both. I also decided to name this series “Tigaanur“ which is Mando’a for ... touch, lol. I hope y’all like the second part just as much! I had a lot of fun writing this, hehe. Note 2: Again, set during season 1 but the events are drawn out over a longer period of time (but they aren’t really mentioned) Note 3: If you like my writing ... I’m taking Requests! Or if you just want to be notified when I upload something: I’ve started a taglist, too!

“Embrace” – Din Djarin x fem!reader
With a huff you turned in your makeshift bed and stared at the ceiling of the Razor Crest, your hands clasped and neatly placed on your stomach. Keeping track of the time was difficult when you were in hyperspace for more than a day, at least for you, but when spending these days unable to fall asleep, the minutes seemed to last an eternity longer. Insomnia plagued you in your hours of otherwise peaceful slumber ever since a few weeks. All those events, all those concerns to keep the Child safe and the realization that there was a bounty on your head now, kept you awake, alert even when you knew it was safe to close your eyes. Your days were a constant pattern you couldn't escape from. Fighting, fleeing, repeat. You were aware of what you had signed up for when you joined Mando and the little one on the Razor Crest and you didn't regret a thing. But what you hadn't been aware of at the beginning was just how much your mind would struggle to process everything. You adapted to having to be observant and careful all the time, you just couldn't switch it off anymore. Your body shook with energy, prepared to act if necessary at any time even when you were more than exhausted. In the last couple of weeks you only seemed to find any sleep when your body was too exhausted to function anymore, leaving you passed out in the copilot seat more often than not. When Mando would notice you almost falling sleep beside him, he always urged you to go down in your bed. You knew he only wanted you to sleep comfortably, the copilot seat wasn't the best alternative for your body and especially for your back. You didn't dare to tell him that the moment you would settle down in your bed, you would be wide awake for the rest of the flight. Sometimes sleep was within reach, so close but your mind would startle you awake before you could get a hold of it. Leaving you panicked in your bed with your heart beating relentlessly against your ribs, keeping you awake for the rest of the night. Other times your body was simply too restless for you to even feel tired, let alone fall asleep. The constant stress your body and mind were under, slowly but surely strained your nerves.
You groaned, frustrated at yourself, and pressed the palms of your hands against your eyes. You couldn't deal with this anymore. You kicked back your blanket and stood up from your makeshift bed. You stretched your arms over your head until your shoulders made a satisfied plopping sound, then you grabbed your blanket, draped it over your shoulders and head like a hood before you made your way to the ladder leading up. You tiptoed silently past the Mandalorian's cot in which the kid was sleeping soundly, not wanting to wake the little on up, and then climbed up to the cockpit.
Mando shifted in his seat the moment you set a foot onto solid ground again, tilting his head in confusion as he looked at you. You walked up to him with your head lowered and sat down into the copilot seat to his right. With your feet plopped onto the seat, you wrapped the blanket around you and leaned your head back, glancing at the streaks of blue and silver above your through the window. "Nightmare?" he asked, his voice a soft whisper his modulator struggled to pick up. His concern for you made your heart flutter and warmth spred in your stomach. "No" you shook your head and wrapped the blanket tighter around your body. "Just can't fall asleep right now." It wasn’t a lie, just not the complete truth either. You let out a sigh, your eyes still fixated onto the fascinating beauty that was hyperspace even though you have seen it a million times already. But the nebula of blue and silver, of the stars swirling around you, never ceased to amaze you. The silence was light but filled with unspoken words and questions. You didn't dare to ask any of them out loud. You didn't want to disturb the comfortable silence and you weren't sure if you wanted to hear his answers anyway. You had asked him the question that was burning on the tip of your tongue before. His answer didn't really clarify much for you, you were still unsure at times. Now you only knew that he didn't mind the touches, didn't mind you around him. You were curious but also afraid to ask again. You liked how the bond you two shared was right now, you didn't want it to change to something awkward.
Your eyes fluttered close unwillingly, the exhausting taking a hold of your stiff body. You still couldn't relax but your body needed to shut down, needed to recharge. You heard the Mandalorian shuffle with something but before you could open your eyes to look, he had already grabbed your hand from underneath the blanket and intertwined his un-gloved fingers with yours. The warmth of his touch immediately washed over your whole body. Your lips formed into a soft smile as you squeezed his hand in thanks, slowly melting into his touch and the seat, gradually you felt your body relax. Mando began to draw small circles on the back of your hand, soothing your racing thoughts to a halt. No words were spoken, but you didn't feel like they were necessary right now. You were just grateful for his touch as your mind slipped into a peaceful slumber. The last clear thought you could form stuck with you even when you woke up again a few hours later. You never seemed to be able to relax in your bed just as good as if you were in the cockpit with Mando by your side.
_______________
"Why does this always happen?" you huffed under your breath as you ran beside the Mandalorian, trying to get back to the Razor Crest before one of the men hunting you could land a shot.
You had just wanted to get some more supplies again, with three people on the ship rations didn't last long, especially with the always hungry kid that was hiding in the bag slung over your shoulder right now. You had wanted to go alone but after what happened the last time, when you had gotten badly hurt, Mando didn't allow that. Especially now that there was also a bounty on your head to track him and the kid down. You were in far more danger than he anticipated, than he wanted. But you also were in a desperate need to leave the ship even if it was only for an hour. You couldn’t stand being trapped there any longer, so you argued with him, refused to stay behind. After a while, and very reluctantly, Mando agreed to you going with him which meant that the kid had to join, too, because you didn't want to leave him alone on the ship. You had hoped for it to run smoothly, to just for once be able to enjoy a trip to a market and not be confronted with the harsh reality again. But you should have known better, you should have known that some bounty hunters would spot you three, that it was just inevitable.
So, that was why you were running through the narrow streets of the city you were in right now. Fighting them all off immediately hadn't been an option this time with all the civilians around you blocking your path and sight, so you three had to resort to shooting your way free and immediately fleeing after that. The plan had been to find a spot where you would have some advantage to attack but the city seemed to only consist of small, narrow streets in which you couldn't do anything except try to run, try to not get shot in the back.
Mando was running beside you but after a while you had trouble keeping pace with him. Your legs burned, the exhaustion in every fiber of your body from weeks of almost no sleep slowed you down more and more. Gasping for air you tried to not fall too far behind. The Mandalorian took a sharp turn to the left, vanishing into another small side street. You stumbled, struggling to slow down enough to take the turn without needing to stop completely. You could only vaguely hear the shouting of the bounty hunters behind you over the blood rushing through your ears and your heart hammering against your ribs. But what you could hear, or rather feel, was the blaster shoots zooming past you, barely missing. They were coming closer, fast. The kid cooed in your bag, confused by what was going on when you grabbed the bag and pressed it with him in it protectively against your chest. At least he wouldn't get hit there. You managed to round the corner and fixated your eyes back on Mando's form. With a groan you sped up, trying to catch up to him. But then you felt the laser of a blaster, its heat sizzled past your face, missing your skin only barely. Your heart leaped into your throat and you jumped to the side, your back collided with the wall of a building as you came to a sudden halt. When you collected your thoughts enough to turn your head, you saw the bounty hunters had already followed you into the small street and you knew there was no use in escaping anymore. If you ran, they would just shoot you in the back. You looked down at the Child who had stuck out his head from the bag, staring at you with his big, round eyes, and you knew what you had to do. You had no other option. You had to fight. You grabbed your blaster from the holster on your hip -Mando made you take one with you and had taught you the basics, now that you were on the radar of bounty hunters too- and slung the bag around so the Child would be hidden behind your back, safe from any blaster shots coming your way. You had no time to aim so you just shot into the general direction of the bounty hunters, hoping for the best, as you pushed yourself from the wall, avoiding a few shots only barely. Miraculously you managed to hit a few of them, or maybe it was Mando who hit them. He had to be somewhere behind you, he probably noticed your absence and had turned around to help, but your mind was too clouded to notice his footsteps hurrying closer or his blaster shots coming from behind you, more unfocused and aimless than usually. You ducked your head down to avoid a few more otherwise fatal shots and directed your blaster to the bounty hunter closest to you, only for it to jam. You pulled the trigger three times before you realized that nothing was happening. Your eyes widen in horror and you did the only thing you could think of right now: Protect the Child at all cost. You let your blaster fall to the ground as you spun around, so your back was facing the bounty hunters. You grabbed the bag during your turnaround and pressed it against your chest again, putting one hand on the little one’s head in an attempt to soothe him while your body shook in fear. You prepared yourself for the hit, prepared yourself for the heat sinking into your skin, for the pain, when you suddenly felt someone grab you and spin you around with them. You were too disoriented to react, to fight, you could only hear the lasers leaving the bounty hunter’s blaster, but none of them hit you. Instead, they hit something metallic, making them bounce off. You lifted your head slightly and your breath got stuck in your throat as you realized what was happening. Mando had wrapped his arms around you and spun you so his body was shielding you and the kid from the lasers, his back facing the bounty hunters, instead of yours. You couldn't do anything, except for staring at his visor in pure shock while he silently stared back, not even tilting his helmet in question. Him moving his hands behind your back stayed mostly unnoticed by you. Only when the whistling birds already struck down the bounty hunters that were left did you realized what he had done.
The echo of the blasters suddenly stopped, leaving the small side street in complete silence with the only exception being your still widely beating heart hammering against your ribs. The first one to move was neither Mando nor you but the Child, who was tugged in between the two of you. Wiggling and stretching his arms out he cooed at the Mandalorian whose helmet lowered to look at him. Slowly he loosened his grip on you, though his arms still stayed wrapped around you. If you didn't know it any better you would have said he was afraid you would disappear if he let go. But you didn't mind his hold on you, your legs were shaking uncontrollably and you would probably have slumped down on the ground without him. "Are you hurt?" he asked and glanced back at you, his voice frantic. You shook your head and let out a breathy sigh. "No-o" you said and gasped for air, your heart pumping hard against your chest in relief, before you directed your gaze to the little one. "We're okay. B-but I need a moment." You let your forehead fall against Mando’s armored chest and just focused on your breathing. The Mandalorian didn't move or interject, instead he tightened his arms around you again, giving you not only stability but comfort, too. You closed your eyes and tried to stop the shaking of your body. The adrenaline had vanished and only left the fear behind that was still closing its claws around you. You gulped, realizing that you almost ... that you could have died. A cold shiver ran down your spine as your breath hitched. This could have been the end of your journey. You could have... "We need to go" Mando spoke up, his voice caring an apologetic tone. You nodded against his chest, understanding that you had to leave the planet before more bounty hunters could arrive. You bit your lip and straightened up, taking a step back the Mandalorian let his arms slip from you, bringing them back to his sides. "Let's go" you agreed, trying to cover the waver of your voice with a small smile.
You held the Child pressed against your chest the whole remaining way back to the Razor Crest. His soft squeaks kept your mind at ease and focusing on his big, curious eyes made you forget about what almost happened. At least for the time being. Luckily, you didn't walk into any more bounty hunters. Though you could only take a deep breath of relief when the hangar closed tightly behind you. You only half-heartedly noticed Mando gently pushing you down onto the edge of his cot by the shoulders. You stared at the ground before you, still hugging the little one against your chest, and didn't even register the Razor Crest taking off. The short startle of the jump into hyperspace was also left unnoticed. Only when the Child was softly taken out of your arms did you look up at the Mandalorian, who had come back down. You didn't protest as he put the little one into his hammock where he promptly fell asleep.
"You should get some rest" the Mandalorian suggested, one of his hands resting on your shoulder, the leather of his glove brushing against the skin of your neck. The sensation left small tingles behind which would have made you sigh if you weren’t so tense. And even though you would have loved to, you knew sleep wasn't an option for you right now. "I can't-" you choked out and lowered your eyes to stare at your still shaking hands. You clenched them to fists and bit your lip. And even though the Mandalorian didn't speak up, did you know what he was asking when his hand wandered from your shoulder to your neck and cheek. You leaned into his touch, closed your eyes and wished to just fall asleep in his comforting presence, to just be able to forget this day. "I haven't been able to sleep properly ever since I joined you" you confessed, your voice faint. "But it has gotten worse over the last few weeks." "What can I do to help you?" the Mandalorian asked sincerely concerned. You couldn't help the soft chuckle escaping from your mouth. "Can you stay?" you hummed even though you knew he couldn't. This wasn't necessarily the worst sleeping position you were in since the last couple of weeks, but also not one of the best. However, if you moved to your bed or to the cockpit now, you would be wide awake once more. But Mando probably didn’t want to and couldn’t stay in that position anyway. You sighed at the warmth of his touch, relishing the moment for a few seconds more before you would have to stand up. But then Mando pulled away, making you open your eyes in an instant. You were about to stand up from his cot when he suddenly kneeled down before you. Freezing in place you stared at his visor that stayed trained on your face. Every word you could have said got stuck in your throat when he grabbed your legs and slipped your shoes off. You couldn't even ask him what he was doing, though your face probably gave that thought away. He placed your shoes neatly beside the entrance to his cot before slipping his off, too, which only left you even more confused. You blinked at him in lack of understanding, searching for words.
"What are you doing?" you managed to ask when he had stood up and took a step closer. He was now directly in front of you, his body so close you could feel the warmth that radiated from him and it springing over to you. He was so close that you had to put your head back to keep your eyes focused on his helmet. "Staying with you" he only answered. Before you could ask further questions, he suddenly picked you up with one arm underneath your legs and the other bracing your back. Your eyes grew wide as you just clung onto him, unable to protest. Somehow Mando managed to get you two settled into his cot with him lying on his back, almost taking in all the space, and you on your side, trying to squeeze into the space that was left. Nevertheless, you had to press against him with your head lying on his armored shoulder. You didn't dare to breathe, didn't dare to move at all and just watched Mando for a while. He had his hands clasped on top of his stomach, the visor of his helmet pointed to the ceiling, harshly reflecting the still switched-on lights of the ship. He didn’t move and you began to wonder if he had already fallen asleep. But then you thought about how he was even supposed to fall asleep that way in his bed, completely dressed in his armor. Wasn’t he uncomfortable? You furrowed your brows, your eyes still trained on his helmet. Or did he always sleep that way? Fully dressed in his armor? Unmovingly on his back like a rock?
"Sleep."
You couldn't help the squeak spilling over your lips as you flinched in embarrassment, making the Mandalorian chuckle lowly. He had noticed you staring, obviously. You cursed at yourself and ducked your head in, trying to sink into yourself and appear smaller while your cheeks heated up. Embarrassed you stared at your hands, refusing to meet the Mandalorian’s gaze again. His shoulders shook lightly from his silent laughter. Then he grabbed the blanket, draping it over the two of you before he pushed a button on the side of the wall which switched off the lights and closed the door to the cot. You were grateful for the darkness as your face definitely gave away your flustered state. For a few moments you focused on Mando's regular breathing through the modulator, feeling his body move next to you to the almost completely silent rhythm. You mimicked his relaxed breathing, trying to clear your thoughts and focusing on only that and not the close proximity you had to each other. And before you knew it your body relaxed and you fell asleep, tightly pressed against him.
_______________
You were relieved and grateful to Mando for finally having found some sleep through his help, but you would be lying if you said it was a comfortable slumber.
You had awoken alone in Mando's cot. Well, not completely alone. The kid was still sleeping in his hammock above you and the pain in your back was now also a new companion. Spending one night cramped into one tiny space with a man completely dressed in cold, hard armor probably wasn't the best idea. Nevertheless, you had slept and for the first time in weeks you felt somewhat well rested, back pain brushed aside.
You groaned and set up, rubbing your eyes and wondered how you didn't notice Mando leaving. In the tight space that was his bed you surely would have felt him move, right? Well, apparently you had been far too out of it for that. You were somewhat impressed at yourself for having fallen so deeply asleep but your body probably had just passed out, far too exhausted to keep being alert even in your sleep.  You yawned, searched for the button to open the cot and then crawled to its edge to put your shoes back on, noticing that Mando's were gone. You stood up and glanced at the Child but when you noticed that he was still soundly asleep, you silently walked to the ladder and climbed up. Once you were at the top you stopped and stared at the back of Mando's helmet, suddenly feeling very unsure of yourself. Sleeping next too him was the most intimate gesture he had shared with you. And even though that wasn’t really something big normally, you had shared a bed with friends before, this felt different. Somehow it felt intrusive and very exciting at the same time. You felt special but flustered none the less. Then you huffed and shook your head, clearing it from those thoughts. 'We only shared a bed' you told yourself. There was nothing special about that, right? Well, maybe not with any other person. But with Mando every small step felt like a miracle, like a risk to take even though being close to him was nothing new to you anymore. You held hands, you saw and felt his skin underneath the leather gloves, you even sat on his lap a few times while in hyperspace. But nothing ever felt so intimate than lying next to him in his small cot, even if you had a sore back now because of that. Alone the memory of it made your heart speed up again. Never had so simple gestures felt so exciting to you. And then the desire hit you that you wanted more, wanted to be closer to the man behind the beskar. And that thought suddenly scared you. You shook your head once more and forced yourself to sit down into one of the copilot seats. You stared out of the window, too afraid to meet the Mandalorian's gaze should he tilt his head to you, too afraid he would somehow know what you were thinking. You felt torn. Torn between wanting to embrace whatever this was and scared to know what he wanted, what he thought. Scared to know what exactly this was. It wasn’t a simple partnership anymore, not just a crew you happened to join. This was something that set your heart aflame whenever you were near him. But you didn’t want to ask. You didn’t want to know his answer. As long as he didn’t tell you what this was to him you could continue to pretend, to relish these moments that meant so much to you.
You folded your hands and placed them in your lap to stop yourself from fiddling with your thumbs. The silence was uncommonly heavy, pressing down on your shoulders and pinning you to the seat. "Thank you" you whispered after many minutes of complete silence and glanced at the Mandalorian through the corners of your eyes. He only hummed and nodded, not turning to meet your eyes.
_______________
The rest of your day was filled with the giggles and squeals of the Child as you played with him to distract yourself form your thoughts. You couldn't stand being in the cockpit alone with Mando today, so you had passed the time and busied yourself with caring for the kid. That was until he had fallen asleep in your arms at the end of the day, or at least you guessed another day had passed. Keeping track of it in hyperspace was still rather hard for you. You had put the little one to bed and were now standing in front of him, in front of Mando’s cot, unsure what to do. Glancing at your own bed you felt your stomach tighten. You already knew you would only turn from side to side without finding any rest in there. The only option to find any sort of sleep would be next to Mando. You sighed and climbed back up to sit down into one of the copilot seats only to almost run into the Mandalorian as the door to the cockpit slid open suddenly before you. You froze, your face only inches away from his chest. You took a deep breath before you slowly lifted your head until you could look into his visor. When he didn’t move to the side or reacted at all, you furrowed your brows at him in question. "Aren't you tired?" he asked and gently took your hand in his. It was the first time that he had talked to you today. The rest of the day had always been filled with awkward silence, something you had always feared should you ask the questions that were circling in your head, something you had wanted to prevent by staying silent, but now it was too late. He tilted his head at you when you didn't react. For a few moments you were overwhelmed and struggled for words. "Ehm, well, yeah but-" you weren't able to finish your sentence, though you weren't even sure what you had wanted to say anyway, when Mando squeezed your hand and nodded to the ladder. Understanding what he wanted to signal to you, you let your hand slip from his and began to climb back down, Mando following close behind. You were back where you had stood before, not knowing what to do. When Mando slipped his shoes off you did the same, just so you had something to occupy your mind with. When he turned to look at you, you stayed put where you were, frozen in place with your heart hammering against your ribs, begging you to let it escape. Did he really want to sleep in his armor again just so you could find some sort of relaxation, some form of comfort through his presence? Not to forget how painful it was to wake up earlier today for you, then you couldn’t possible imagine how it had to be for him. You suppressed the wince that would have spilled over your lips other wise and shook your head. Now wasn't about your comfort during sleep, but Mando's. And sleeping in armor definitely couldn’t be comfortable or even good for him. He should be able to relax in his ship and not be reminded of his job, his chaotic life through the armor he wore during the day and now at night, too.
"Isn't it uncomfortable to sleep in your armor?" you asked sincerely concerned and not just to gain some more seconds to try and sort your mind. Mando only shrugged his shoulders, while you rubbed the back of your neck that still felt a little stiff from this morning. "You don't have to-" you wanted to explain to him that he didn't have to do this for you when he would be uncomfortable as a result, that you would just try to sleep in your bed again so he felt comfortable enough to take the armor off and sleep alone in his cot. But every word got stuck in your throat when he did something you never thought your eyes would ever witness. He took off his armor, piece by piece, right in front of you. Your eyes grew wide and your mouth fell slightly open. "What-" you only managed to croak out as your eyes wandered over his form, the last piece of armor he still wore being his helmet and the rest of his clothing being what he wore underneath, a simple shirt and pants. You couldn't help yourself, you couldn't keep yourself from staring at him. His shoulders were still broad and wide even without the armor but only now did you notice his slender waist. You gulped and stopped your eyes from moving lower, bringing them back up, only for your heart to leap into your throat as you stared at his chest and arms that were now only covered by a dark, long-sleeved shirt. You already knew Mando was physically strong but the shirt did nothing to hide the muscles flexing in his arms and shoulders even when he was only standing before you. Why did you feel like he was standing bare before you when he only took his armor off and was still standing before you fully clothed? You felt your face heat up and your breath getting shallow at that thought. Your body tensed as you forced your eyes to stay on Mando's visor. You had embarrassed yourself enough already.
He hadn’t said anything when he had taken off his armor nor when he stepped closer to you, directing you backwards to the cot. When the back of your knees hit the edge you stumbled, almost falling on your back but Mando grabbed your hand and kept you upright. "Careful" he chuckled. Your face grew even hotter as you bit your lip, suppressing the mindless blabber that would have escape you otherwise. Slowly he lowered your still tilted off-center body until you found yourself on the exact same spot as yesterday. It felt rather surreal and you kept wondering if you weren’t just dreaming right now. Maybe you were still asleep? But when your eyes glanced at his exposed neck, the skin sun-kissed and flexing over his muscles in such detail, you were sure you couldn’t make this up during your sleep, that this had to be real. "Mando, I-" you began but he shushed you. "Let's just get some sleep, okay?" You nodded and stood up, letting Mando settled into his bed first. He laid down like he had yesterday, flat on his back with his arms on his stomach. For a second you hesitated, staring down at him before you followed him into the tight space, plopping down on your side with your back to him and snuggling underneath the blanket he had already draped over himself. You felt far too flustered to face him right now, especially with the lights still on. Without a word he closed the door to the cot and switched the lights off. You gulped, somehow feeling Mando's side pressed against your back even more prominently than before. You took a deep breath and closed your eyes, snuggling deeper into the blanket in an attempt to make yourself fall asleep faster. Only to suddenly realize that everything in the cot smelled like the Mandalorian, smelled like something metallic (his beskar) mixed with something earthy, something grounding, something soothing. Heat immediately rushed back into your cheeks and your body tensed. Oh Maker, how were you supposed to fall asleep now? With Mando's scent in your nose and his body tightly pressed against you, you definitely couldn't. You didn't really feel uncomfortable but to say this position did anything for your still slightly sore back and neck was also not correct. And that your heart racing uncontrollably fast didn't help you in any way either. You couldn't relax like this.
Your eyes darted around in the dark as you tried to jump over your shadow and control your rapid breathing. Then, before you could back out again, you turned around underneath the blanket so you would have faced the Mandalorian if the lights were on. He didn't react or at least as far as you were aware. He could surely be looking at you through his visor, that probably had night vision, without moving his head. You gulped before carefully placing your hand on his chest. You felt him tense underneath your touch instantly, signaling you that he wasn't asleep yet. You felt how your cheeks heated up even more when your fingers brushed his muscular chest instead of the cold, hard beskar armor you were used to by now. "Mando?" you asked quietly, your voice trembling nervously while you patiently waited for an answer even after many seconds of silence. You wanted to make sure he was comfortable enough to answer you before you tried anything else. "Yes?" he finally said and you felt his head moving beside you ever so slightly. "Are you comfortable?" you questioned further. Another few seconds of silence followed in which the only thing you could focus on was how close you were to the unarmed Mandalorian. You could feel every muscle on his chest underneath your touch, still a bit tense but slowly loosening up more and more. You could feel his soothing warmth even more, now that the beskar wasn't in the way. You bit your lip, suppressing a sigh. "It's alright" he only answered, leaving your question rather unsatisfied. You took a deep breath, trying to stop your body from shaking and forced yourself to speak up again. "I am not" you whispered and felt him tense up again underneath your touch. You felt his head move once more, probably now completely turned to face you. He didn't say anything, just stared at you through the darkness. You struggled for words for a while, unsure how to continue without making him uncomfortable, without sounding too demanding. Then you lightly shook your head as far as that was possible lying on your side next to him. "Could you-" you began but bit your lip. Collecting all the courage you had left you forced yourself to continue. "Could you turn on your side?"
You stared into the darkness, at the unmoving Mandalorian as your pulse quickened. Nobody moved and you began to fear that you had overstepped a boundary. Maker, he had taken off his armor in front of you for the very first time. This must be even more uncomfortable for him than you. You gritted your teeth, cursing at yourself. You should have stayed silent and just tried to sleep. About to apologize you opened your mouth only to suddenly feel movement beside you. Before you knew it the Mandalorian laid on his side, but not like you had expected it with his back facing you, but with his chest. Your heart leaped into your throat, leaving you breathless and unable to form the words you had wanted to say out loud. You froze, your whole body tensed up in disbelief. "Is that better?" he asked, his voice an almost inaudible whisper. "Yeah" you croaked out. The silence that followed was deafening, making the beat of your heart even more audible and you were sure Mando must have been able to hear it, too. Your brain shut off, leaving you alone in the dark, helpless. How were you supposed to sleep now?! With your eyes wide you stared in front of you, stared into the darkness where Mando's chest was, only inches away from your face. You almost yelped in panic when you noticed that your hand was still touching him, pressed against his unarmored chest. But you couldn't move away. Was your mind blank only seconds before was it now swarming and crowded with thousand of thoughts.
You flinched when you suddenly felt a featherlight touch on your waist. You needed a few seconds to process that it was Mando's un-gloved hand. "Is this okay?" he asked, his voice so soft his modulator didn't even pick it up. You realized that this was Mando's real voice, not the distorted sound of his helmet but what he would sound like without it. A shower of tingles wandered down your body, leaving you breathless. You opened and closed your mouth a few times, trying to find the words. "Ye-yeah." Mando let his arm sneak around your waist, wrapping it around you and slowly pulling you against his chest. You didn't even notice that you were the one to tangle your legs with his, it felt intuitive. Suddenly you felt really dizzy. Was this really happening right now? You grabbed Mando's shirt with your shaking fingers and buried your head in his chest in a stupid attempt to hide. Because the moment you had to take a deep breath to try and calm yourself down, you only grew even more dizzy when his scent filled your nose. You cursed silently in your mind. But even through all of this, did you notice how your body slowly relaxed under this touch and warmth. Involuntary, you let out a soft sigh and closed your eyes.
"Thank you, Mando" you managed to whisper after probably minutes of silence. The Mandalorian didn't immediately retort anything to that and instead tightened his grip on your waist and squeezed the hand of his free arm between the two of you to place it on to of your hands that were still pressed firmly against his chest. "Din." You lifted your head to look at where his eyes must be hidden behind the darkness and furrowed your brows in lack of understanding. "What?" you asked confused. "Please. Call me Din." Your eyes widen and your face grew even hotter if that was even possible at that point. He ... he just revealed his name to you? Your breath hitched. He just revealed his name to you. "Din" you tested his name on your tongue in a hushed tone. The Mandalorian went rigid as he sucked in a sharp breath and you feared you had misunderstood him but then he pressed you even closer to him, making your heart skip a beat. You gasped for air in shock when he nestled into your hair as you felt his chin on top of your head and not the cold helmet. His legs had sneaked around yours, pinning you against him but you didn't feel trapped. Quite the opposite, you actually enjoyed his tight embrace. "Din?" you asked, your voice wavering noticeably. The grip around your waist tightened for a split second as he tried to stifle his sigh, making you chuckle and melt against him. "Din" you said again with a cheeky smile on your lips. The Mandalorian growled against you, making you jump in surprise. "Are you trying to torture me, cyar'ika?" he asked, his voice husky and low. You paused, not quite understanding what he meant by that. "What-" you began, shifting in his hold so you would be looking at his face in confusion if it weren't so dark. For a few seconds you just stared and thought until your eyes widen in realization as your mind caught on. "When was the last time someone called you by your name?" you asked in a hush. "Can't remember" he answered you in a low growl as he pressed himself against you. Your cheeks burned again in an instant as you struggled for words once more. Din’s breath stuttered through the modulator, his chest heaving against yours. You wondered if his mind was as blank as yours was but then he suddenly let go of your waist and instead grabbed both of your hands before you could collect yourself enough to react to any of the things he had said, to the things he had revealed to you. For a few moments he just drew soothing circles on the backs of your hands, tracing your soft skin as if it was the first time he felt it. Then he directed them upwards and placed them on each side of his helmet. After that no one moved and you barely dared to breathe. You hadn't touched his helmet before, always far too afraid since it seemed to be the most important part of his creed. But the only thing on your mind wasn’t your surprise at that and instead you could only focus on how the coldness of the beskar underneath your hands and the warmth of Din's hand on top sent shivers down your spine.
"(Y/N)?" You hummed in response, still unable to speak up, your mind far too clouded. "You can take it off." Your body stiffened as you blinked in confusion. Did he really just say that? You must have imagined that, right? Right? "B-but your creed?" you objected, staring into the darkness. "It's okay as long as you can't see my face" he explained, squeezing your hands before leaving them alone on his helmet as he wrapped his arms back around your waist, lifting you a bit further up so you were face to face with him. Your hands were still cupping the sides of his helmet as you sucked in a sharp breath. Were you really about to do this? It felt wrong even though he had asked you to. It felt … intimate. "Please, cyar'ika. Let me be close to you." Din's pleading voice and the foreign nickname send shivers down your spine. Your breath hitched as you pushed all your worries to the side and slowly lifting the helmet up. Its hiss echoed in your ears as you held your breath, your heart beating so strong you felt it in your throat. You pushed it up over his hair that brushed your hands, leaving tingles behind. Then you placed the helmet to the side and gasped when you felt Din's breath on your face. The sensation left you dizzy as your heart began to drum relentlessly against your chest. Your hands felt useless as they floated in the air, not knowing where to put them. For many seconds you didn’t dare to move before you squeezed one of your hands back between the two of you, placing it on his chest before taking a deep breath.
"Can I?" you asked in a whisper, your other hand hovering over where his cheek must be hiding in the darkness. A soft "Yeah" escaped Din's mouth and you didn't waste another second and gently placed your hand on his face. The sensation and his warmth left you with a feeling you couldn’t quite place or understand. Slowly you began to outline his features, let your hand wander from his chin up to his ear, feeling his strong jar and the slight stubble that adorned it. The combined feeling of his surprisingly soft skin and rougher stubble left you breathless. You let your hand placed on his cheek for a few moments, trying to collect your thoughts and failing miserably. You sucked in a sharp breath and carefully continued to let your fingers wander to his forehead, tracing his eyebrow you felt how his eyes fluttered close. Then your touch traveled back down, mapping out the shape of his nose. In the end your fingers hovered over his lips and you felt his breath against them as they trembled. Gently you placed them on his chin and felt your way up to his bottom lip. You traced the outline of his mouth in a trance and when he chuckled against you, you didn’t even flinch and joined in. Your fingers found their way further up, to the corner of his lips, feeling the stubble above his lips form into a mustache. You chuckled again. He took your breath away. "Beautiful" you whispered as you continued to caress the corner of his mouth. You felt it crinkle up in a smile as Din laughed, the rumble of it vibrating in your chest, the sound hypnotizing you. "Mesh'la" he responded in a hushed tone, as he drew your faces closer. You weren't sure what the word meant but you didn't really care right now. His scent so metallic yet earthy, so soft yet sensual and warm it left you breathless and with your thoughts spinning, craving more. Your heart hammered against your ribs, screaming and begging for a few more millimeters, only a small push forward. You were sure Din was able to feel the echo of your heart against his own chest. He shifted lightly against you, wrapping his legs around you more, and tightening his grip on your waist, drawing your body even closer even though not a single hair could fit in between you two anymore. Your sleepiness was completely forgotten by now as you stared into the darkness, not able to close your eyes even though you couldn't even see anything. But you didn't need your eyes to see him, to know how beautiful he was. He lowered his head, placing his forehead against yours. You were glad to note that you weren't the only one whose breath stuttered over your lips at that. You couldn't help but melt into him, soaking in his warmth and the feeling of comfort, the feeling of belonging right there with him. Feeling like this was all that life was, feeling safe and protected. At peace. You let your hand wander to his hair, burying your fingers into his locks. The slight tug made Din growl once more, the sound low and dangerous, teasing and daring you to continue. You smiled and brushed his hair back, taking part in the game he dared you to play with him, no matter the consequences. You wanted to see what he would do, you wanted more. All those months of faint touches, whispers of being close to one another, had left you even more touch-starved then before, even more desperate. You didn’t care for the unspoken boundaries anymore. You just wanted to let yourself fall into your desire, a desire Din seemed to share. Slowly one of his hands crept up the back of your neck to also bury his fingers in your hair. The sensation made you gasp and your hair stand on end. You were sure Din was grinning at that, proud and pleased. Out of instinct you freed one of your legs from his and draped it over his waist, seeking to be even closer to him, even though his whole body was already pressed against you and his lips so close that you could feel the ghost of his breath on yours. It made you shiver in anticipation. Pressing your forehead even more against his you took a deep breath, taking in his soothing scent. Only a few millimeters more and you would have the closeness you sought. Only a few millimeters closer to fulfill the whishes of your heart. Only a few millimeters closer and you would have known how his lips felt dancing against your own.

Tigaanur Series: Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 (you’re here!) | MASTERLIST
Summary: Both of you longed for one another, wishing to have leaned into each other that night but there seemed to always be something holding you back. However, after months of faint touches one of you could no longer contain these whispered desires.
Warning: Panic attack!, mentioning of violence, M O R E touching and bed sharing, and finally some … kisses? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°), slightly suggestive themes? (not so sure this time but better be safe than sorry), also a tiny bit of Din’s POV! (we get to know how the tin man feels about you!)
Category: fluff, hurt/comfort
Words: about 8.500
Notes: The torture is over and Part 3 is finally here! I hope y'all will enjoy because … writing this was a real challenge, I tell you guys. I have like … only bad experiences regarding physical intimacy and the kisses are the whole plot point in this fic... I hope I managed to pull it off regardless. (Also, coming up with summaries for these parts gets more and more difficult…) Note 2: Set during season 1 but… to be honest I feel like this series has no timeline anymore. Note 3: If you like my writing: I’m taking requests at the moment! Or if you want to be notified when I uploud something: I have a taglist, too! (Look at the end of this post for some more information)

“Whisper” – Din Djarin x fem!reader
Din sat in the pilot seat, his arms crossed before his chest, body tense and his thoughts racing in tight circles behind the beskar of his helmet as he stared out of the window and at the forest in which he had landed the Razor Crest in to hide and lay low for a while. His thoughts had been all over the place lately. Ever since he had let you take the helmet off, he seemed unable to stay concentrated. And even though you hadn't seen anything the mere thought of your fingers tracing his face to create an image of it, of him in your mind made his body shiver. When he thought about how you had called him beautiful without any hesitation his thoughts got mushy, a stupidly big smile hiding behind the helmet. And when he thought about how close your lips had been to his that night, so close that he had been able to feel your breath on his face, his body seemed to freeze while a strange heat crept up his neck and settled on his face. And all he could do was wishing he had leaned into you that night, longing to get to know how your lips would feel like on his own...
Din blinked and cursed under his breath when he finally noticed that he had spaced out. He had spaced out again. With a huff he forcefully shook his head, trying to sort his thoughts, trying to keep them focused. This happened far more often than it should. It was something he couldn't allow himself to do. He was supposed to protect, supposed to look out for the Child and ... you. He clenched his jaw and forced his thoughts to stay focused, to not wander to how your eyes always lit up whenever the Child clawed at your pants, begging to be picked up. How his heart seemed to skip a beat whenever your soft laugh broke the tense silence inside the Razor Crest. How your presence filled every room you were in with warmth. How- He was torn from his thoughts and jerked out of the pilot seat when something hit the window right in front of him. With his hand immediately wrapped around the grip of his blaster he took one step forward, instinctively ready to draw his weapon. But then his eyes locked onto your grinning form and he promptly let go of the blaster, his body relaxing only seconds later. With the Child hoisted against your hip you threw another small rock against the cockpit's window, laughing at Din's annoyed form, you could tell by his arms, that were crossed before his chest and how he shifted his weight slightly more onto one foot, before you gesturing at him to come outside. Din watched you disappear around the Razor Crest to the hangar and let out a long sigh, placing his hands on his hips as he shook his head silently, cursing at himself again. He had let his thoughts wander again! He hadn't been alert. He wouldn't have been able to react fast enough should have had happened something outside of the Razor Crest. Should have happened something to you and the Child. His jaw tensed underneath his helmet and his eyes hardened. He couldn't let anything happen to the two of you. He had to focus, he couldn't allow his thoughts to wander off. Not anymore, not again. He had to stop thinking about you all the time. He had to ban you from his thoughts. He gulped hard but nodded at himself. It was just too dangerous. With his plan set in stone, Din slowly set himself in motion and began to climb down the ladder. And with every step his decision solidified more. This couldn't happen again. He was supposed to protect you and the Child but he couldn't do that when he always lost himself in his thoughts. Even when it pained him, he had to let go off you. At least in his thoughts. At the end of the ladder Din stood still for a while, intensely staring into the void, his eyes not focused on anything in particular. He had to banish you out of his thoughts, he had to focus. He would still see you, your smile, your bright eyes ... but these thoughts had to stop and therefore also the faint touches. He furrowed his brows and nodded at himself, reassuring himself that this was the only option. But then he turned around to walk out of the hangar and he saw you. He saw you playing with the Child, rolling in the grass with him, giggling and laughing loudly. He saw how you enjoyed the sunny day in the forest, how the stress he had noticed more prominently on your face ever since a few weeks, had now vanished completely. You didn't worry about anything in that moment, you just lived. And the only thing Din could do was freeze mid motion and stare at you. The smile on your lips captivated him, enchanted him. His thoughts were immediately circling around you again. The sun made your eyes glow and sparkle with so much joy he rarely got to see in his life. It felt like he was seeing you for the very first time. His heart stuttered against his ribs as a strange warmth traveled up from it to his face, the echo of his blood buzzing in his ears and his first thought was that he might have been hit by something, that he had been injured and his blood was pumping faster because of that. But when his eyes glanced over the clearing and the trees of the forest there was nothing. His gaze fell back on you and his heart jumped once again. Taken by surprise he sucked in a sharp breath and clenched his jaw afterwards. His heart wasn't racing because of some threat, it was racing because of you. Din's thoughts morphed into a tornado of incoherent whispers that had haunted him ever since that night and his face twisted into an expression of shock when the realization slowly dawned on him. In that exact moment he realized that he wouldn't be able to go through with his previous decision. He wouldn't be able stop thinking about you. He wouldn't be able to let you go.   _______________ You groaned in discomfort and stretched your arms over your head until the muscles and bones in your shoulders let out a satisfying sound. But even after that your body still felt stiff and the copilot seat hadn't gotten any more comfortable. You weren't even sitting for long but not leaving the Razor Crest for two weeks took his toll on you. It felt like you couldn't move anymore, you felt restricted. But it wasn't like Din had forbidden you to leave the safety of the ship, you simply didn't ask to join him outside anymore. You were the one who had decided staying on the Razor Crest was probably the best for you and the kid. You noticed that the Mandalorian was a bit confused by that since you had practically argued to go with him the last time and now you only stepped a foot outside the hangar when the ship was hidden and far away from any cities. But he hadn't requested an explanation when you didn't ask to go with him as he left the ship and had just shrugged his shoulders, the whispers in his head that were worried he kept to himself. Mostly you passed the time by playing with the Child outside, but the planet you were on at the moment didn't have much vegetation to hide behind. Din had decided a long walk to the next city wasn't worth it if the ship wouldn’t even be properly hidden, so he had landed the Razor Crest closer than usually. He would leave soon to go out and try to find some spare parts for the ship he needed after a shoot-out in space earlier that week and you would have to wait for his return inside the Razor Crest. Because the sparse vegetation meant that you couldn't even play outside with the kid now. The only thing you could do was sit around and count the seconds until Din would be back. You huffed and leaned back against the seat, your arms dangling around uselessly while the Child sat on your lap, playing with the small silver ball from one of the levers of the control panel. You looked down at him and smiled, stroking over his little head and then turning to face the entrance of the cockpit since you had heard some shuffling. Din had climb up the ladder and was now leaning against the doorway with his arms crossed before his chest. You raised one eyebrow at him in question. "Didn't you want to go to the city?" you asked and straightened up in the seat. Wrapping your arms around the Child you hoisted him up so he was now cradled against your chest. He let out a small squeal before all of his attention shifted back onto the ball. Din nodded stiffly but didn't speak up immediately so you waited with your head tilted slightly. However, the Mandalorian just stared down at you, his eyes hidden behind the dark visor. You could still feel the intensity of his gaze on your face though. You shifted on the seat and blinked confused and slightly uncomfortable. In situations like these you wished you could read minds, or maybe just his. Things weren't necessarily awkward between the two of you but there was a tension in the air now that hadn't been there before. You furrowed your brows as you wondered when exactly it had appeared. It only took you a few seconds to date it back to two weeks ago. To the night Din had let you take of his helmet. The night you had almost kissed. You bit your lip out of reflex at that thought. You had been so close, so close to his lips back then. But you hadn't leaned in, he hadn't move and you two hadn't kiss. You had felt like it was too early, too much. He had just taken off his helmet, had let you touch his face and revealed his name. It hadn't felt right to take more. So, when Din had tucked your head wordlessly into the nape of his neck, you bit your tongue, didn't complain and just snuggled close to him. And then in the morning this tension was strung in the air between the two of you. This tension that felt somewhat awkward and fragile. And that scared you. You were scared of what would happen if it broke. You were still sleeping in his cot, snuggled into the blanket, pressed beside him and he was still taking of his helmet every night. But you hadn't touched his face since and the helmet was always placed above both of your heads, always still in reach. And you knew he needed it to be in his reach, he needed to be able to quickly cover his face should something happen. But if felt like a looming reminder and you couldn't stop worrying if maybe ... he regretted taking it off. Maybe he regretted letting you touch his face, regretted revealing his name to you. Because every time you called him by his real name he seemed to tense up. At first you brushed it aside as him not being used to hearing it again. But even after two weeks he still froze for a few seconds whenever he heard you use it. It had gotten to a point where you couldn’t deny anymore that it was kind of strange. Was he uncomfortable by you calling him that? However, what felt even stranger was being near him outside of the sleeping cot. Sitting next to him in the cockpit or simply being in the same room with him suddenly felt really odd. Well, not really the "being in one room with him" part but the distance felt strangely foreign now. Now that you had been so close to him before, now that you had mapped out his face in your mind, your body craved for him even more. You wanted to stand by his side, wrap your arms around him or place your chin on the top of his helmet when he was piloting the Razor Crest. But that sort of normality just wasn't ... there. Or maybe you were just worrying too much again. Maybe you could just stand up and be closer to him without any issue and you simply didn't allow yourself that kind of normal proximity. Maybe the problem was you. Or the fear buried deep in your chest that one wrong move could scare him away. He had already shown so much of him to you that you still weren't ready to take steps of your own. You didn't want to take more than he was willing to give. And like always you didn't dare to ask questions. No matter how often you told yourself to disregard the unspoken boundaries, to just talk about what this was, you still never seemed to be able to address it. Your words always got stuck in your throat when you looked at him. In the end your nerves always won. You blinked a few times and readjusted your eyes to the dark visor as Din spoke up, his modulated voice tearing you from your chaotic thoughts. "Would you like to come with me?" You tilted your head in confused shock. He had spoken up and just broke through the tension, tore it down without a second thought just like that. Two weeks of worrying, of tiptoeing around it and him, and he just ignored it, he just spoke. He asked you to join him as if it was his second nature, so easily, in an almost carefree manner. As if... as if you belonged by his side. Something inside you stirred at that thought, something hot and burning and hungry. You wanted to belong by his side. You wanted him to want you as badly as you craved for him. You wanted whatever this was and more. Heat traveled up your neck and to your cheeks, your body tense as your heart hammered relentlessly against your ribs. And in your flustered surprise you agreed immediately, forgetting the reason why you hadn't left the Razor Crest for two weeks. So, that was how you ended up on yet another marketplace, the kid hidden in the bag strapped over your shoulder once again while Din walked in front of you, taking the lead, breaking up the sea of people so you could follow him more easily. There were a lot more people out than you anticipated. You took a deep breath and forced your legs to keep going, forced yourself to follow Din into the mass of people. But unlike how it was before, how you normally liked being out and seeing new places, you couldn't relax, couldn't smile at all the little booths, you couldn't feel the tiniest bit of enjoyment. Your body was tense and on high alert. You held your bag with the Child clutched against your chest and let your eyes wander around, never focusing on anything for too long, just searching for any possible threat, anyone coming too close, anyone with a wicked grin on their lips and bad intentions in their eyes. But everything was so loud and there were so many people, you could barely focus. Your thoughts kept spinning. You swallowed hard, shaking your head, trying to sort the mess inside it but it seemed to only make it worse as your vision was spinning now too. You had to stay calm, you had to keep going, you couldn't lose your cool now. With your eyes glued on Din's back you kept walking even if every step seemed to take more energy than the last. Your breath had gotten shallow and a few beats of sweat began to form on your forehead. When you whipped them away with the sleeve of your shirt you stared down at your hand and noticed that it was shaking violently. The usual buzz of the energy of a full marketplace tingling on your skin was replaced by cold dread that tightened its grip around your heart with each passing second. You had felt strangely dizzy when you got near the city but now it had gotten so bad you couldn't force your feet to keep going anymore. You could barely hold yourself upright at that point, slightly swaying to side to side while you pressed the palm of your hand against your forehead, trying to soothe the pulsing heat behind your skull. "Ma-Mando?" you croaked out, barely remembering to not use his real name outside of the Razor Crest when dark spots began to dance before your eyes. What was happening? The Mandalorian turned to look at you when he heard you call him by his alias. The confusion on his face hidden behind the helmet immediately switched to shock when he noticed your condition. With two quick steps he now stood directly in front of you, but it happened so fast you had trouble keeping up. Your mind felt nervously frantic and strangely slow at the same time. The only thing you really noticed was Din's gloved hands on your shoulders as he steadied you, hindering your body from swaying too much. But when you looked up at him the darkness of his visor and the bright light reflecting off his beskar mushed into one incoherent picture of colors and light you were unable to deceiver. Were you even looking at his helmet right now? "(Y/N)?" he asked worried but you couldn't answer him, your throat was too dry. Your whole body was shivering and the dread tingling on your skin hardened its grip around your heart, making you gasp in pain. Tears began to from on the corner of your eyes as you clutched the kid tighter against your chest with one hand and the shirt over your heart with the other one, clawing at the invisible force that caused you to wince in pain. But the pain only traveled higher up, it climbed up your throat, leaving you gasping for air. You felt like someone was choking you but the only hands on your body were your own and Din's still firmly placed on your shoulders as he tried to keep you anchored in reality. "Help me, please I don't know what's happening" you wheezed out between fast, shallow breaths that did nothing to get the oxygen you craved into your lungs. You felt like your body was on fire while your hands seemed to freeze of the cold at the same time. Everything around you seemed strangely surreal but too real at the same time. You couldn't tell if the flashes of wicked grins were real or only a figment of your imagination at that point. The chatter of the people on the marketplace all around you echoed back in your ears, mixing with the buzz of your blood rushing through them and making you even more dizzy. You only barely heard Din's voice cut though the chaos. "You're having a panic attack" he stated, sounding equal parts shocked and panicked himself. You couldn't answer him, you weren't even sure if you heard him correctly. You could have a heart attack right now for all you knew. You freed the hand clutching your shirt and searched for Din, not even really knowing why. You just needed to touch him, needed to know he was- "It's okay, I'm here" he whispered and placed one hand on top of yours, pressing it against his chest plate. You flinched a bit at the coldness of the beskar but it immediately traveled up your arm, soothing the heat pulsing through your veins. You placed your forehead on his chest intuitively and let out a short sigh when the furious fever behind your skull slowly diminished. But the dread was still hardening its grip around you, it closed up your throat. You felt like you couldn't breathe. You felt powerless, unable to fight against the panic rising in your chest. The kid cooed at you in concern but you didn't even really register it, just clutched him tighter against you while you tried to block the sounds of the marketplace out. What were you supposed to do? How were you supposed to escape? Your thoughts were spinning too fast you could barely get a grip at them, only on some small parts, single words that only made you panic even more. You felt trapped in your own mind. Were you even still on the marketplace? "What do you need? How can I help?" Din asked, cutting through your panicked thoughts. He tried to stay calm himself, tried to act as an anchor for you but it was difficult. He never had to help someone through a panic attack before. He knew the signs of one but he had no idea how to help you. All he wanted was to protect you, help you, ease the panic and pain but right now he didn't know how to do that. His eyes darted over your form, searching for an answer, anything that could tell him how to help you. "I want to go back" you forced the words out and pressed your head even more against Din's chest. Sobs tore through your dry throat as you hiccupped, the tears finally flowing down your cheeks freely. Your mind had switched to fight and flight modus and all you wanted to do right now was to flee, to hide, to get away from the city, from the people whose intentions you didn't know. "I want to go back home." _______________ As soon as you were back on the Razor Crest you felt better. The panic was still deep rooted in your chest, the dread was still looming ominously above you and tears were still clouding your vision but you felt like you could breathe again. You didn't feel like your heart was about to give up, you didn't feel like you were dying anymore. When Din asked you if you wanted to lie or sit down you could only nod, your throat still shut tight and too dry to get any words out. Your legs were shaking so much you could barely hold yourself up right, even when you stood leaning against the wall. Din had taken the kid from you and quickly placed him in his hammock above his cot then he immediately stood before you again. You blinked a few times, trying to clear your vision from the black dots, trying to make out his helmet through the tears. The Mandalorian didn't say anything, just placed his hands underneath your arms to keep your legs from giving up underneath you while he directed you to his cot. With gentle pressure he pushed you down into a sitting position. You let out a relieved sigh and buried your fingers into the fabric of the blanket, trying to anchor you in reality with it. You were no longer on the marketplace, you were on the Razor Crest with Din, you were safe. Swallowing hard you nodded at yourself as if to reassure yourself. You were safe. It was okay. Everything happening after that seemed to go by in a blur. Suddenly Din kneeled before you, something to eat and to drink in his hands. You weren't sure when he had left your hazy gaze to get that but you were grateful for the cold water. It soothed the burning dryness in your throat and the food gave you a bit of your strength back. But your limps kept shaking and your eyes kept switching their focus between Din and the wall behind him. "You should get some sleep." You blinked and forced your eyes to stay on Din's dark visor as your mind tried to get behind the meaning of his words but your thoughts were still to disoriented. "What?" you croaked out and handed Din the empty bowl back. When had you eaten all that? "You should try to get some rest" Din repeated and placed the bowl on the floor beside him. "Okay" you agreed but you weren't even sure if your mind had really understood him the second time. You didn't flinch when you felt his hands on your legs as he took your shoes of. Something about that felt familiar. It's because he had done it before. You furrowed your brows at that, your mind clearing a little bit, shining light into the dark chaos of your thoughts. You blinked, slowly and only now really registering where you were and what was happening. You were on the Razor Crest, yes. Din was with you. You were safe. You blinked again as your senses came back to you and the dread and panic slowly vanished. You were safe. "Are you-" Din's modulated voice tore you from your thoughts and you shifted your eyes onto his helmet. He was still kneeling before you, his hands placed lightly, almost anxiously on your thighs. "Are you feeling better?" You noted that he hadn't asked you if you were okay but if you were feeling better. For some reason that made you smile. Your face softened and you nodded in answer. "Yeah, I think so." Din nodded too but it seemed to be absentminded, out of reflex. For a few seconds you two just stared at each other, and you were more than aware of the sudden proximity again. You didn't think you felt so close to him ever since two weeks ago. So, you shifted your focus on Din, shifted all your thoughts on him, chasing away the last traces of dread. All you could think about was how you didn't want him to recoil again, you didn't want to feel alone while lying beside him in his cot. You wanted to feel wanted, to feel like you belonged next to him. "Can you..." you began and cleared your throat nervously. "Can you stay with me?" You could almost feel his lips curl up in a small smile just like they had two weeks ago underneath your fingertips as he tilted his head lightly. "Of course, cyar'ika." _______________
You had fallen asleep almost instantly beside the Mandalorian, too exhausted to keep your eyes open for another second. Din, however, had trouble falling asleep, the worry still deep rooted in his chest and mind. He glanced at your sleeping from through the darkness from time to time, even though he couldn't even see you. When he finally managed to fall asleep after what felt like hours, he didn't sleep very deeply, still on high alert. So, when he heard the sound of faint wails, he was immediately wide awake again. His first instinct was to jump up and look after the Child but it only took him a split second to realize that the sounds didn't come from above but from beside him. His heart clenched in worry. You were curled up on your side, your back facing the Mandalorian and your head ducked in between your shoulders as heartbreaking whimpers left your lips. Din shifted in the small space so he could lie on his side, his chest pressed against your back. "(Y/N)?" he whispered, brushing your hair back so he could place one hand on your cheek. You flinched under this touch, cowering away and further against the wall of the cot. Panic shot through Din and he sat up, pushing his helmet that he had taken off further up the cot and out of the way, his upper half held upright with one arm while the other one turned you on your back. "(Y/N), wake up" he tried again, his voice stronger and more demanding in his panic. But in the haze of your dream his voice just blended in. You gasped and shook in fear. You couldn't see a thing but you felt the panic again, you felt the pain again. It was clutching your heart again that hammered relentlessly against your ribs in fear, trying to break free, trying to get away. You wanted to get away. Someone touched you, turned you on your back and the only thing you could do was whimper in fear because your throat was too dry and your tongue was too heavy to from any words, too heavy to cry for help. While your mind seemed to lose itself in the panic, your body acted on its own, tried to escape from their grip. Who's grip? You didn't know. You only knew about the burning pain. Your right side burned in pain, the heat traveled up your chest until it sat down in your throat, making you unable to breathe as you struggled to get free. "(Y/N)!" Your eyes snapped open but when you couldn't remember where you were and still couldn't see a thing in the darkness, the panic settled in deeper, restricted your breathing even more. You gasped for air and blinked, trying to sort your mind, trying to realize what was happening. Someone was leaning over you. Instinctively you brought your hands to the persons chest, trying to get them off of you. "It's only a nightmare, (Y/N). You're safe." You paused when his voice rang in your ears, shallow breaths stuttered over your lips as you blinked confused. "Din?" you asked cautiously, the grip on his shirt slowly loosened. "Yes, cyar'ika, it's me" he whispered. You felt his hand on your cheek, caressing the skin underneath your eye gently as he stayed leaned above you and slowly lowered his forehead against your own. His breath hit your face and together with his presence the steady rhythm calmed you down. You took a deep breath over quivering lips and let your hands fall from his chest, your muscles went limp as the rest of the nightmare and the panic vanished into the darkness, muttering angrily at you, promising to be back. You still couldn't bring yourself to speak, your tongue still tied into a knot. Din laid back down beside you and wrapped his arm around you without a word, drawing you closer against his chest. You snuggled into the nape of his neck and took in his soothing scent, trying to get your breathing under control. Desperately you grabbed the fabric of his shirt, silently begging for more comfort. He instantly understood your need and placed his other hand on your head, slowly stroking your hair back behind your ear. "Do you want to talk about it?" he asked after a while, his voice sounded unsure but sincere. For a few moments you stayed silent, then you shifted in his hold so you were lying more on your back than your side again. You stared up at the ceiling through the darkness of the ship, just trying to sort your thoughts for a moment. "I-" you began but your voice cracked. Din's grip on your waist tightened immediately. You cleared your throat and continued: "It's because of the bounty hunters. The ones who... Those who-" When Din's hand accidently wandered over the scar they had left on your right side you couldn't force yourself to continue as the memories flooded your mind. You couldn't tell him about how that experience still haunted you. You couldn't tell him that your dreams weren't just plagued by them but also by the ones that had chased you through those narrow streets, almost shooting you only two weeks prior. But you felt like he knew regardless. "It's okay" Din said hesitantly, not knowing how he could comfort you the best. "What can I do for you? What do you need?" "All I need is you" you whispered, laid on your side again and wrapped your arms around him, seeking comfort in his presence once more. You weren't oblivious to your words and their weight, just as you weren't oblivious to how Din's heart sped up underneath your hands. But they had skipped your mind so easily, so truthfully, you hadn't been able to hold them back. A soft smile curled your lips upward as you sighed. You had wanted to say them out loud for a while anyway. What you were unaware of however, was just how fast Din's thoughts were racing in his head after those words. You two laid content in the silence but neither was able to fall asleep. You tried to slow your breathing, to let your body relax against Din's but you still felt his fast-beating heart underneath your hand which left you wondering what was on his mind. You bit your tongue, suddenly self-conscious if you had said the wrong thing. Maybe such words had been too early? You and Din hadn't even talked about what this really was. You licked your lips absentminded as the memory of the almost kiss replayed in your mind again. There was at least something, neither of you could deny that anymore. Maker, he felt comfortable enough in your presence to let you sleep beside him in his cot. Comfortable enough to remove his helmet in here. Comfortable enough with you to let you trace his face in the darkness. He had revealed his name to you without you even asking for it once. He had opened himself up to you, exposed himself so willingly. Your eyes opened and you stared up at him through the darkness, his breathing strangely heavy and uneven. He had trusted you with all those secrets, had told you about his feelings for you without words, and for the first time after months of small touches that had evolved into sleeping wrapped up into each other's arms you had finally opened up to him about how you felt by saying those few words. The desire struck you that you wanted to tell him again, to tell him more. You needed to give him the same amount of trust, you needed to tell him just how comfortable you were with him. You needed to tell him about what this was to you, you needed to reassure him just as he had you all those weeks ago. You needed him to know that you wanted to belong. But before you could even move one single muscle, before you could open your mouth, Din suddenly shifted beside you. Confused but too caught off guard to ask you just loosened your grip on him to allow him to move freely. You felt his hand travel down from your hair to your face, tracing your features just like you had done the first time he had let you take off his helmet. Your fingers immediately itched towards his face, you wanted to see him through the darkness again but you forced yourself to stay put, allowing Din to do what he needed to. His fingers slowly wandered down your cheek until they reached your chin. Your breath hitched and your eyes grew wide when he let them wander even further down, his un-gloved fingers caressing the skin of your neck with a touch so delicate no one would believe you he could be capable of. But they didn't know him like you did. Not that you would ever tell somebody about this side of him. You felt too special to share this with anybody else than him. You hummed as a shiver ran down your spine and your body moved on its own to give him easier access to your neck. For a few moments he let his fingers dance over the exposed flesh, hovering over your collar bone, before he let them wander up again to cup your cheek. When he directed your face upwards, so you would have looked at him if it weren't too dark to see anything, you let out a confused whine. "Din?" you asked perplexed with your voice suddenly sounding really drowsy. "What are you doing?" He didn't answer you. Instead, he sat up again, unwrapping his arm around your waist so he could hold his upper body leaning over you. You could feel and hear his breath from above you, coming closer. Your heart fluttered in your chest and your own breath got stuck in your throat when he placed his forehead on yours once more. But this time it felt different. There was something hanging in the air, delicate like his touch, that you didn't dare to move, too afraid that you would break it. "Din?" you asked instead once more, with your eyes darting around even though you couldn't see him in the darkness. The response that you got from him was something you hadn't expected. "I love you" he suddenly whispered, making your body tense up underneath him. You opened your mouth but no words were able to leave as your eyes grew wide. The silence seemed deafening. You couldn't believe your ears. Did he... had you imagined that? Did he really just say that? His breath had stopped tickling your face and you realized that he must be anxiously holding it. You blinked a few times, trying to sort your thoughts. You had to say something. Anything! "Wha-what?" you only managed to stammer and you could have cursed yourself. "I'm-I... You?" Every word you had been prepared to say before, every word of adoration you were prepared to shower him with just vanished out of your vocabulary, out of your mind's reach. Everything mixed into one confused, happy, surprised feeling buzzing in your chest and it made you dizzy. "I love you" he repeated still only in a hush but more strongly, more daring, more confidently. "I love you and I can't imagine a future without you by my side." You gasped as your body seemed to be engulfed in flames, hyper aware of Din's on top of yours, his chest only inches from yours, his forehead still lightly pressed against your own but at the same time this also felt strangely surreal. Like a dream. You couldn't quite believe it, your brain seemed too slow to process his words and their meaning fully. And then the shock suddenly mixed with hot, burning happiness that made your chest swell with adoration. You shook all the surprise away, or maybe your body just acted on its own accords, tired of the unsureness, of the timidness that always had been in the air, longing to finally get close to him, to jump over the distance. Your hands shot up, cupping his cheeks and pulling him down before you even realized what was happening, what you were doing exactly. And then, without thinking, you bypassed the small distance left between you two and connected his lips with yours. The small sound of surprise and shook from Din wasn't left unnoticed and made you laugh against his unmoving lips. But it only took him a second to catch on, to shove away his own surprise. He acted so fluently, placing one of his arms beside your head, balancing on his elbow so he could lean down closer to you without having to put his full weight on you, his chest just ever so slightly brushing over yours, while his other hand immediately grabbed you by the hip and his legs placed to either side of yours, faintly pressing against your thighs. His fingers dipped into the soft flesh of your waist, making you whine and squirm lightly. And then his lips began to move against your own, responding to your kiss so fiercely and untypically dominant for him, or at least towards you, it left you breathless. You gasped against his mouth in shock and immediately felt the corners of his lips twitch into a small smile, that you could just too good picture as smug in your mind. Your hands wandered almost automatically to Din's hair, stroking through his soft locks before you grabbed some of them. You didn't really mean to do it, but your fingers twitched when the muscles in Din's hand flexed against your hip, ever so slightly tightening his grip on your side. You tugged at his roots, making Din growl lowly against your lips. And all you could do was swallow the sound, feeling it vibrate through you and echo back in your chest, leaving you with tingles all over your skin. The softness of his lips against your own paired with the intensity of his kiss, the kiss from a man starved, left you with your thoughts spinning, unable to do anything but kiss back just as desperately, craving more, craving to be even closer. You could only think about how much you had wanted this, not quite believing that it was actually happening right now. Your lips twitched into a big smile, making it difficult to kiss back that way, but you couldn't suppress it, just as you couldn't suppress the small giggle escaping your mouth. Your heart drummed hard against your ribs, pulling, dragging and begging you to get closer to him. You curved your spine, pressing your chest against his and wrapping one of your legs around his waist to simultaneously pull him down to you. Din's breath hitched as his legs gave up, his body shivering in what you could only imagine to be surprise and effort now that he could only hold himself upright with one arm. You didn't care, you couldn't care at that moment. Your mind was far too clouded by the taste of his lips on yours. Addicting like the taste of slightly sweet, warm honey. You couldn't even wonder how something could taste warm but right now, it just felt right. His hand traveled from your hip to your stomach, caressing the soft flesh carefully and at first your body tensed up a bit, but it only took a split second until you melted into the touch. Warmth was swirling in your chest, making your body shiver in excitement and dangerous desire while your hands began shaking, making you tug at his locks again. Din parted from you with a gasp but with his mouth still hovering close over yours, so you could feel his just as labored breathing against your face. You fell back onto the bedding, your leg slipping from around his waist. Your chest rose and fell rapidly as you tried to catch your own breath, your thoughts still trudging in circles through the thick fog that was wrapped around your mind. "I-" you gasped, your eyes darting through the darkness again as you tried to collect yourself. "I love you, too." This time the silence wasn't deafening when Din placed his forehead on yours again. With your hands still rooted in his hair, arms draped over his back, you were able to feel his shoulders shake in what you interpreted as silent chuckles at first. But when you felt something wet on your face you realized that he was crying. Panicked you placed your hands on his face again, feeling the tears wetting his cheeks and his brows furrowed together. "Din!?" you asked a bit overwhelmed, not knowing what to do. "Din, what's wrong?" He let out a huff which took you a few seconds to process and identify as a stifled laugh. Even more confused you furrowed your brows too while you wiped away the few tears on the corners of his eyes. "Nothing is wrong, cyar'ika" he replied, his voice husky and low. He was still so close to you that you could feel the sound of his soft laughter in your chest. You only needed a few seconds to realized that he was crying tears of joy. And that revelation made you tear up, too. Closing your eyes, you pressed your forehead firmly against his, squishing his cheeks lightly between your hands before you moved them to wrap around his neck again. You sucked in a trembling breath, trying to collect yourself enough to be able to speak up again. You were overwhelmed with emotions, feelings that finally wanted to bubble onto the surface. They wanted to finally be heard and seen and you had no intentions, no worries of holding them back anymore. "I love you, Din" you began in a hush. "With all my heart and soul. You make me feel at peace, you are my save haven, my home. I want to belong right here on the Razor Crest with you and the kid. I want to be with you, want to be by your side because I can't imagine a future without you by mine either. I-" You stopped when you felt Din's breath hitch, his body tensing up for a split second before melting into your embrace. His hand wandered from your waist up to your face. His fingers hovering over your lips for a few seconds before he began to lightly trace their shape in the dark. Then he moved further up and cupped your cheek. "I lov-" you tried to continue but before you could finish your sentence, Din's lips were on yours again. This time in a much softer and gentler manner, like it was only a soft whisper, a ghost of a kiss, a shy declaration of love. Giggling you responded immediately, smiling into the kiss while your heart skipped a few beats, leaving you dizzy with your thoughts spinning once more and his hypnotic scent in your nose. Your thoughts were back to being obscured by a thick fog and your breath hitched when his stubble lightly scratched against your skin. And then when he suddenly wrapped his arms around you and rolled onto his back you let out a surprised squeak, breaking the kiss because of it. Now with your positions switched you were holding your upper body upright by your elbows that were placed to either side of Din's head. You blinked confused before laughter bubbled over your lips and Din tuned in, the low rumble of his own laughter that he tried to stifle vibrated in his chest you were currently lying on. Every last fiber of your body began to tingle, the sound of his laugh echoing in your ears as you grinned down at the darkness that was hiding his face from you. Slowly your laughter faded away until you could only let out a soft sigh. Din's arms were still tightly wrapped around you but his hands had begun to wander down, tracing the curves of your body. It made you shiver and press further into him. But when one of his hands stroked over the scar on your side you flinched out of reflex. Din immediately let go of your side and instead placed his hands on either side of your face, pushing back your hair behind your ears. Then he wrapped his arms around your upper body and pressed you down, pinning you flat against him in a tight hug. "I'm sorry" he whispered and stroke over your head with one hand repeatedly in a soothing manner. "Don't apologize. It's okay" you replied softly. "No, it's not okay" he retorted, his tone stubborn. "I shouldn't have taken you with me into the city today." You pushed against Din's arms around you, pushed your upper body upright again so you would have been staring down at him if it weren't too dark. Regardless, you stared down at the darkness, finally understanding what he was on about. "It's not your fault, Din. I didn't even know that was how I would react. I just..." you sighed and shook your head. "I don't want to talk about it right now." You felt Din shift underneath you, probably because he was nodding. You let out a groan and then flopped back down into Din's embrace, just wanting to relax in his warmth. You had closed your eyes, but even after what felt like an eternity you weren't able to fall back asleep. Maybe it was because Din had nestled his face against your neck, his breath and beard tickling the soft skin there. Maybe it was because of the close proximity to him that finally felt normal, it felt wanted. You felt wanted. And that single thought kept circling in your mind, refusing to let you fall asleep in his warmth. You sighed and shifted slightly in his hold. "Din?" you asked in a hush after a while, hoping that he would still be awake. He shifted his hold on you and lowly hummed against your neck in response, the sleepiness in his grunt very noticeable. "I love you." Chuckling Din straightened up a bit, freed his face from underneath your chin and placed a kiss on your forehead. "I love you too, cyar'ika" he whispered back. You giggled and placed your lips on his, soaking up the feeling of them against your own eagerly. Rough and soft at the same time. Something so typical Din, you hadn't even been surprised by it. He returned the sweet kiss but after a rather short time he pulled back. You groaned and whined in protest and stretched towards his face, towards his lips which made Din shake his head in laughter. "Enough, ner kar'ta. You need sleep" he chuckled, brushing back a strand of your hair. You huffed and rolled your eyes. "I don't need sleep, I need you to kiss me!" you mumbled, pressing your face against his neck, breathing in his soothing scent. "Bossy" he grunted amused and brought your face back up with one finger underneath your chin. "No" you objected. "Addicted." Din laughed in agreement before placing his lips on top of yours once more. They danced against your lips so intuitively and in such a delicate manner that the only thing you could do was sigh and melt into the kiss, forgetting everything else. All your worries just disappeared, the nightmares, the fear until the only thing left on your mind was Din. But just like before he parted from you far too quickly. You whined once more but Din shushed you. "Sleep. Now" he demanded with more chuckles escaping his lips as he tugged your head underneath the crook of his neck. With a theatrical sigh you let your eyes flutter close. "More kisses tomorrow?" you asked softly, sheepishly grinning against the skin of Din's neck. He huffed, trying to stifle his laughter but failing miserably as he hugged you tight. "I promise, ner kar'ta."

Sneak Peek 👀
A little snippet of the Sequel to "Touch", coming this Saturday 12 am (CET)
Tumblr media
"Embrace" - Din Djarin x fem!reader
"You should get some rest" the Mandalorian suggested, one of his hands resting on your shoulder, the leather of his glove brushing against the skin of your neck. The sensation left small tingles behind, which would have made you sighed if you weren't so tense.
And even though you would have loved to, you knew sleep wasn't an option for you right now.
"I can't-" you choked out and lowered your eyes to stare at your still shaking hands. You clenched them to fists and bit your lip. The Mandalorian didn't speak up but you knew what he was asking when his hand wandered from your shoulder to your neck and cheek. You leaned into his touch, closed your eyes and wished to just fall asleep in his comforting presence, to just be able to forget this day.
"I haven't been able to sleep properly ever since I joined you" you confessed, your voice faint. "But it has gotten worse over the last few weeks."
"What can I do to help you?" the Mandalorian asked sincerely concerned. You couldn't help the soft chuckle escaping from your mouth.
"Can you stay?" you hummed even though you knew he couldn't. This wasn't necessarily the worst sleeping position you were since the last few weeks, but also not one of the best. However, if you moved to your bed or to the cockpit now, you would be wide awake once more. But Mando probably didn’t want to and couldn't stay in that position anyway. You sighed at the warmth of his touch, relishing the moment for a few seconds more before you would have to stand up. But then Mando pulled away, making you open your eyes in an instant. You were about to stand up from his cot when he suddenly kneeled down before you. Freezing in place you stared down at his visor that stayed trained on your face.
"What are you doing?" you managed to ask when he had stood and took a step closer. He was now directly in front of you, his body so close you could feel the warmth that radiated from him and it springing over to you. He was so close that you had to put your head back to keep your eyes focused on his helmet.
"Staying with you" he only answered.

What will I write next? You decide! 😃
VOTING CLOSED!
Here it is again, as promised! ...I knooow I haven’t posted Part 3 of the Tigaanur series yet but I wanted to give y’all more time to vote because I hope I can start writing the next story by the weekend! So, depending on how many will participate I’ll either close the voting on Friday or Sunday! (I’ll be rebloging this post from time to time until the voting is closed)
Okay, so! Down below I’ll list a few story ideas I have and am interested in writing right now but not sure what story to focus on. Soo, to help me decide where to focus my mind on you can vote what story interests you the most! And this time I not only have Din Djarin ideas for y’all but some Javier Peña story ideas, too!
Hope you like some of my ideas, so please let me know which one of these you want me to write next the most! Everyone is allowed to vote of course and Comments, (anon) Asks, DMs... everything is allowed, so don't hold back! ✌️💜
(I tagged some of you who are on my taglists at the end of the post, I hope that was alright)
Tumblr media
 1. “Shooting Lesson” – Din Djarin x fem!reader (After much convincing Din finally lets you shoot his pulse rifle. But something you hadn’t thought about before was the massive recoil that thing would have and Din definitely wasn’t going to tell you – fluff and humor??)
2. “Dance With Me” – Din Djarin x fem!reader (Four or 3 or 5, not sure yet times you tried to get the Mandalorian to dance with you, and the one time you succeeded - fluff)
3. “Stars” – Din Djarin x fem!reader (When you look up at the stars… these are the moments you miss him most – fluff and hurt/comfort?)
4. “What Do You Call Me?” – Din Djarin x fem!reader (You try to note down and learn all the words Din speaks in Mando’a but there are a few were you just can’t figure their meaning out on your own. So, you have no other option than to ask him what the names he is calling you actually mean – fluff, flustered Din!)
5. “Can a Woman Really Change a Man?” – Javier Peña x fem!reader (You and Javier are friends and yes, sometimes you two had been flirting … just for fun. But you’re not oblivious to your growing feelings just as you’re not oblivious to his more straightforward attempts to try and charm his way into your pants. You don’t want to lose this friendship but you also don’t want to become “just another woman” to him. So, in order to protect your heart, you have to put some distance between the two of you – much flirting, much angst, probably with sad ending but not sure yet… depends on how I feel while writing)
--Inspired by the song “A Woman Can Change a Man” by Boney M. Listen to it, it’s good!--
6. “Drunk Confession” – Javier Peña x fem!reader (Maybe if you hadn’t been so drunk that night he would still talk to you. Maybe if you just had shut your mouth he could at least still be a friend to you – angst, confessing your feelings while drunk uh-oh, fluffy ending?)
7. “Leather Jacket and Sunglasses” – Javier Peña x fem!reader (Four or 3 or 5, not sure yet times you just couldn’t help but stare at Javier, and the one time he is the one to stare at you. Or rather: Javi wasn’t prepared for the buzz he felt when he saw you wearing his leather jacket and sunglasses – fluff, lots of pining on both sides, yep I just love that look on him)
I’m really interested and exicted to see what y’all would like to read next so please drop some numbers and comments! 🙈

Small Update
I'm still working on Part 3 of my Tigaanur series but I'm hella unmotivated and tired at the moment so it's a slow process... I wanted to post something this weekend but I don't think I'll managed to to finish it in time for that. But I hope I can finish and post it next week! 🙏
After that I'll let you vote again for what's coming next because I think I need a little break from the Tigaanur series to gather some fresh ideas for it. I have a few ideas I feel inspired to write at the moment and I'm really excited to get to know which one of those y'all find the most interesting!

Lil Update
Hiya, y'all... We're getting dangerously close to being a clan of 300 on this blog here... Holy shit 😳👀
Tumblr media
Gonna have to think of something special once again, this time with a bit more time to spare so maybe I'll be able to ACTUALLY think of a special... Why are my creative juices failing me with something like that??
I don't have as much free time nowadays soooo sorry, story updates gonna be a bit slow but I hope I can finish something before we hit 300🙏
Currently I'm working on Part 3 of the Tigaanur series and sorting some other ideas for Din x reader pieces (and stuff for other characters Pedro portraited... Hmhm, Javi) ... Soo when Part 3 is up I will probably let y'all vote again! Just so I can see where most of the interest is and were to focus my mind on✌️😊

Finally found a song to listen to on repeat while writing Part 3 of the Tigaanur series, whoo! So hopefully I should be able to finish it soon! 👀
For some reason I always need one, specific song to listen to for every piece I write... The song doesn't have to do anything with the story, can be any genre and what not, it can be a song I know already or one I find randomly but I never know what song it will be. Then when I finally do find it... I just know that is the song! Am I making sense??
Also, I never repeat a song. When I finish the story the song has done its duty and goes to the graveyard of forgotten songs... 😂🙈
Maybe I'll do a Playlist with all my writing songs...
