I’m so obsessed with the timeshare episode. Dennis goes on about how he’s not stupid enough to fall for it and then the second Mac says something about it being kinda nice he’s all ears. Wether it was being implied or not, this means time away from the gang at least some time, just them. Which is insane?? They spend every waking moment together at this point and they want more time together?? Just by themselves?? And sure the idea was they would sell it to other people but you know they were thinking they’d have SOME of the time for them.
Yk this was in my drafts for a long time and I just keep repeating “Dennis goes on about how he’s not stupid enough to fall for it.” Like are you kidding me. As if he feels like he’s not stupid enough to give in to Mac, as if he’s not dumb enough to just let it happen. But eventually, he has to doesn’t he? When Mac stops being the one to initiate things, when Mac stops confronting him about his feelings, he stops constantly showing affection to Dennis. What then? But he’s not stupid enough to just let it happen if Mac Is just going to do all this anyway. It would screw everything up if any part of this changed. And then it changes anyways.

Hola, sé que hace días subí otro post, el día de hoy es uno completamente distinto, realmente apenas me topé con este tema, pero creo que es bastante importante de conocer, pues cada que viajamos tenemos que estar al pendiente de las cosas que nos pueden comentar en un hotel/resort. Les trataré de explicar un poquito de lo que es un tiempo compartido, que podemos hacer con este, como funciona, como cancelarlo, etc.
TIEMPO COMPARTIDO
Dicen que se remonta a los años 60’s, comenzando en Suiza y extendiéndose por el mundo, se dice que en los tiempos compartidos hay una fracción de propiedad, que de ahí mismo se obtienen ahorros, beneficios, etc, en muchas ocasiones, se dice que esto no es real
Una de las cosas de los tiempos compartidos es que las mensualidades o anualidades, van aumentando con el paso del tiempo, esto depende a cuanto tiempo te vendieron esta membresía (puede ser 10, 20, 30 años, etc)
En los tiempos compartidos, tienen ciertas semanas durante el año para poderte hospedar, hay distintos tipos de semanas como lo pueden ser:
Semana y Unidad Fija.
El comprador tiene derecho a una semana fija del año
Derecho a uso.
Se le da la posibilidad de usarlo una cantidad específica de años , puede ser de entre los 5 y los 20 años, una vez se acaba el plazo, regresan al desarrollador los derechos
Clubes Vacacionales o Programas de Puntos.
Los miembros compran puntos, utilizados como una moneda para poder tener acceso a distintos tamaños de la suite, temporada o los días en los desarrollos afiliados al resort
Unidades con Lock Off o Lock Out A los propietarios solo se les permite una porción de la unidad en una fecha, el resto en otra, entre las porciones se pueden rentar o intercambiar
Con Tiempo Fijo
El condominio se compra para usarse durante una semana en específico para c/u de los dueños
Con Tiempo Flotante
Aquí el propietario no se ve obligado a hacerlo durante una semana en específico, solamente, reservan con anticipación a la fecha de vacaciones que desea (el riesgo de esto, es que muchas veces no hay disponibilidad)
Semana dividida.
Por ejemplo se podría utilizar en dos distintas fechas, si te gustan las vacaciones cortas, digamos que te dan una semana al año, 3 noches y otra semana, 4 noches Propiedad bianual. Esta propiedad, únicamente se puede usar cada dos años
Muchas veces, los vendedores de tiempos compartidos, nos convencen con mentiras, como pueden prometer que puedes rentar tu tiempo compartido y cito:
“La reventa de tiempo compartido también es un negocio del que debe mantenerse alejado. Hay personas dedicadas a hacerse pasar por agentes de bienes raíces y a estafar personas que intentan revender su tiempo compartido.”
Siempre tenemos que cuidarnos de la reventa de estas membresías, siempre se necesitan tarifas por adelantado, que no se reembolsan. A la hora de estar interesado en algo que tenga que ver con la reventa de su tiempo compartido, necesita pedir un correo escrito a la vista, que detallen los servicios que se están por adquirir.
Revender un tiempo compartido, es bastante complicado, porque principalmente en el contrato debe de permitirse la reventa de este, también ésta falta de liquidez puede disuadir a un inversionista, muchas veces la reventa puede caer en un precio más bajo que el costo inicial:
Tienden a depreciarse rápidamente
Desajuste de oferta y demanda, pues la cantidad de propietarios de tiempos compartidos que tratan salir de sus contratos
Cancelar tu tiempo compartido
Cuando adquieres una membresía de esta naturaleza, necesitas saber los derechos que tienen detrás, PROFECO tiene una ley llamada “Ley de Recesión”, aplica tanto para mexicanos como para extranjeros, ¿Qué quiere decir esta ley? Explica que tiene solo 5 días para poder rescindir de un contrato del tiempo compartido
Al querer cancelar, una de las preguntas principales sería: “¿Cuánto tiempo me va a tomar?” En cada caso varía, siempre se puede comenzar con una carta de cancelación con lo siguiente (Recuerde hacerlo de la manera mas educada posible):

Número de contrato
Declaración de cancelación
Una de las grandes desventajas de esto, es el elevado precio del pago inicial y tarifas anuales, que normalmente aumentan en forma porcentual al pasar de los años
Las estafas
Mucha gente se llega a quejar de las prácticas de marketing, ocasionalmente este tipo de compras son impulsivas, finalmente las personas buscan soluciones para salir del tiempo compartido

Spelunking is one of my favorite hobbies, and Gold Mining Country has a lot of caverns to explore. My second time at Mercer Caverns and it never gets old. It was raining on this day, and we were all greeted with a tornado warning as soon we got out of the caves. I also got a lucky, cave’s kiss (a water drop fell on me while in the cave). These caves have only been partially explored. They still left the rover that the engineering student had left behind. There’s so much history with each rock formation having a name & a story. These caves were first discovered by gold miner prospect Walter J Mercer on Sept. 1, 1885. He started exploring these caves with just a rope & a candle. Til this day they still shut off the lights, light a candle & then blow out the candles to get a feel of how dark it is deep under the earth. The caverns have a large number of speleothems, stalactites, and stalagmites. They’ve also discovered skeleton remains belonging to the Mi-Wuk tribe there. The canvern temperature is 55 degrees year-round, and you descend about 160 vertical feet below the entrance. How I Became a Timeshare Sales Presentation Pro
Intro
Ah, the infamous timeshare sales presentation. The lure of a free breakfast and a gift card can be too good to resist, but be warned, my friends, this is not for the faint of heart. I, myself, have battled these cutthroat salespeople and have lived to tell the tale.
The Allure of Freebies
Let’s start with my first experience. My friend and his mom had a timeshare and invited me along for a Myrtle Beach golf trip. I thought, hey, why not get a free stay by attending a sales presentation? Little did I know, this would be the beginning of my journey into the abyss of timeshare sales.
Rookie Mistakes
I made a rookie mistake and answered a question truthfully, costing me an additional 20 minutes of non-stop sales blabbering. From then on, I knew the golden rule: lie about everything. Lie about your job, your travel habits, your life in general. Give them as little ammo as possible so they can’t waste your time with their insidious tactics.
Watching a Friend Succumb to Pushy Salespeople
I watched in amusement as my friend struggled for a whopping six hours at his timeshare presentation. Poor guy, he had no chance against those pushy salespeople.
Lying as a Survival Strategy in Timeshare Sales
But I, on the other hand, was becoming a seasoned pro. I went into my Vegas presentation with a mission: get in and get out. I didn't want to spend any more time in that sales dungeon than I needed to. Breakfast wasn't too good this time, but who cares, I was there for the gift card. I told a bunch of lies to the first guy, angry looks were exchanged, and then I was out of there. Another win in the bucket.
Brazen Tactics
I continued my journey with a goal of 30 minutes for my third presentation and defeated the two-tiered video game-style salespeople. The second guy even asked me if I liked "pussy" right off the bat. Talk about brazen tactics. I held my ground and shot lie after lie until he finally gave up and brought in a third person. The gift card was mine in just 1.5 hours!
Embarrassing Slip-Ups and the SSN Fiasco
I brought my partner-in-crime, Tia, with me to my Chicago presentation. I coached her on the lies we needed to tell, but she dropped the ball a few times, making me look bad. We were even asked to provide our social security numbers for a credit check, which I refused but my friend foolishly filled out the form, causing a ruckus with the salesman. Tia and I left feeling slightly embarrassed but still managed to beat our time from previous years.
The Final Victory
Finally, my last presentation in Vegas was a breeze. I lamented the lack of a crappy breakfast and prepared for the usual 1.5-hour waste of time. But to my surprise, a woman approached me, gave me my gift card, and sent me on my way. Victory was mine!
