Headcanon: Being Shaak Ti’s padawan would include …
Type: Headcanons; GN! Reader Character(s): Shaak Ti, 501st, 212th, Wolfpack, Bad Batch, Omega, Clones in general Notes: I like the concept of a story as Shaak Ti’s padawan, I was thinking about writing a reader-insert about it. Would you be interested?
Despite her reputation as an admirable Jedi Master, Shaak Ti’s views on attachments would probably be anything but respected by the Council.
Shaak Ti gets motherly feelings just by looking at the Cadets or Omega, so you better be ready because once this woman sets her eyes on her new padawan, your fate will pretty much sealed as her newly adopted child.
Whatever you accomplish, whether it may be small such as motivating yourself to get out of bed or teaching a cadet a trick up to striking down a clanker or saving a clone's life, she’ll be the proudest Togruta in the entire universe.
The clones? They adore you. Shaak Ti is the most respected Jedi among Kamino, maybe even the most adored person among the clones there overall. The troopers admire her treatment and kindness, seeing a parental figure in her, a mother they never had the chance to know. Whomever she likes must be just as lovable then!
As Shaak Ti's padawan, all of Tipoca City knows your name by now. Wherever you go, you'll be greeted by the troopers with a bright smile and once they stop at Kamino after a mission, you'll be one of the few things they'll look forward to.
By now, you can pretty much distinguish all legions for their own unique charisma and cooperation among each other.
The 501st is cheerful and humorous; despite their clumsy and chaotic temper, they work together flawlessly. You'll be swarmed with stories, jokes and even some flirtatious attempts on Jesse's & Fives' account, physical love language such as hugs and handshakes, pretty much treated like one of their own. The Domino Squad especially appreciate you, being one of the very first squads you'd had the chance to accompany. Captain Rex will not even dare to leave your side; he says it’s because he doesn’t want his brothers to overwhelm you but really, he just adores you just as much and feels a kind of safety being close to you.
The 212th on the other is a lot calmer and neat, greeting you politely like they would any commander, but with a warm, grateful undertone. Some, like Waxer and Boil, will even bring you something from their missions, little objects and snacks they found. You’ll have Cody sitting with you during lunch and exchange with him about what you’ve experienced while he was away while he tells you all about the silly moments he witnessed with General Kenobi.
The Wolfpack are like a pack of puppies seeing the master again. The second they see you, they will forget everything around them, all attention now on you, whimpering and whining until they’re dismissed by Wolffe and allowed greet you. Speaking of our favourite commander, he will stand quietly and wordlessly beside you like a guard dog, waiting until the coast is clear to let his guard down and warmly greet you himself.
When it comes to the more unique clone forces, such as the Bad Batch, they’ll likely be able to spend more time with you once they’re on Kamino simply because they’re so small in number. The moment the Marauder lands and the four troopers are off the shuttle, you’ll be squeezed in a tight hug by Wrecker as soon as he gets the chance to. Due to their unique nature and different way of life, the connection you’ll have formed to them will be much more personal and likely seen as mostly unorthodox but that doesn’t matter to them, nor to you or Shaak Ti. Surprisingly enough, sometimes you can even see the ghost of a smile flickering on Crosshair’s face when you approach him after their return from another tough mission. And that means something!
The time between helping out Shaak Ti with the clones’ training and supervising the cadets is usually spent with none other than Omega, Nala Se’s apprentice, who, just like you, tends to feel a bit out of place among all the troopers so it’s nice to exchange with someone who feels similarly every now and then. She sees you as a big sibling, someone she can trust her emotions with and you sincerely return those very feelings.
Seeing you interact so well and kindly with all the clones leaves your master’s heart swelling with joy. She really couldn’t ask for a better student.

Nothing as sexy as a human (or otherwise sapient) consciousness becoming the central AI that runs an ancient building.
Anyway I think Anakin or Ahsoka should fuck up on Mortis so spectacularly that they are sent back to circa TPM as the inhabiting consciousness of Tipoca Training Facility.
I already did Obi-Wan as a living temple, now it's somebody else's turn to be a building the size of a city.
I feel as though Anakin moving the walls to piss off Jango until Jango does what he wants (is nice to clones) is important. That said, Ahsoka could also do this.
The walls are your collective older sister/dad that keeps fighting the mean teacher for you.
@atagotiak said on discord:
Oh, hey. One fun thing about Anakin being the one. Sidious holo-calls to the kaminoans
The building starts shaking and Sheev is just like "oh, I didn't know you got earthquakes on Kamino."
Heck, Anakin and Ahsoka can share Tipoca.
Gotta be careful not to meld, but the system is big enough to avoid that And the Kaminoans are REALLY bad at figuring out how to remove the "virus" in the walls Partly because the virus got the droids to unionize, controls all outgoing calls, and blocks off the hangars whenever they start thinking it's time to call it a wash and just bomb the place.
Someone asked why Obi-Wan isn't involved and tbh, the Doylist reason is that people get weird about him (there's this subset of fandom that really wants Obi-Wan to be more In Tune Soul Wise with the clones than any other Jedi and it gets under my skin).
@ioudaleks suggested "Doesn’t he not get possessed? Could use that," and you know what, that's as good a reason as any. Obi-Wan didn't get possessed, so he didn't get punted to the past to become a citywide AI with a sincere desire to fuck with Jango, the Cuy'val Dar, and the Kaminoans.
I want Anakin to do Castle Heterodyne vibes. His greatest joy is setting up obstacle courses for Not Clones. Fuck you, Taun We, avoid these swinging hay bales to get to work on time.
Ahsoka does much friendlier but still stupidly hard (her standard for child-appropriate phys ed difficulty is Jedi, not normal) stuff for the clones.
They project themselves as holograms (to the twins and nicer trainers like Mij), because I said so.

My Neighbor Doug on different locations in 'The Bad Batch'
So I did as was requested by my poll, and asked Doug what he called (and thought of) the various different places in which 'The Bad Batch' took place.
Need refreshers? Doug's interpretations of The Bad Batch: Main Characters
Doug's interpretations of The Bad Batch: Side Characters
Here we go:
--------------------------------------------------
Tipoca City: The Mall on the Ocean. You know it either smells really nice, clean and like fresh perfume, or it smells like ass and balls. It’s duty free, of course. Daddy Warcrimes totally plows the liquor section when Ryan-from-Accounting won’t stop annoying him and Daddy Rambo sprays on the sample Sauvage cologne to get the ladies.
("I thought he was married?"
"He need the reassurance. Y'all know guys like him.")
Tumblr media
Onderon: Damn-It-Jared’s Trailer Park. It’s where he and his goofy-assed hippie friends fire weapons and drop acid and scare the wildlife. It’s like Oregon, but stupid. Just like Damn-It-Jared. And Daddy Warcrimes comes down and murders civilians, because the man craves police brutality the way I crave a drink after watching the Saints lose.
Tumblr media
Saleucami: Tremor-Land. Look at this place and tell me you ain’t expecting giant worms and Kevin Bacon to pop out of nowhere. Also, Not-Wolverine’s wife gives me Reba McEntire vibes, trust me. They seem like a fun couple, I’d love to drink beer and shoot guns with them on a Sunday.
Tumblr media
(Cut and Suu = Not Wolverine and Not Wolverine's wife)
Pantora: Not-Quite-Austin. Its where young hot people go to get drunk, get into street fights and then leave. You know, where That Chick That’s in Everything gets into a motorcycle race with Daddy Rambo and then they look for the Gun Safety Muppet and Little Orphan Blondie is lost and I guess they sell Toaster Strudel at one point to the three eyed goat for cash?*
Meat Muffin, what in the hell did I just write?
Tumblr media
Corellia: Where-Anakin-Lost-His-Legs and Jorge’s Unemployed Sisters are collecting scrap metal for cash.
(“This is not where Anakin lost his legs!”
“How do you know?”
“ I watched Episode III?! Did you?”
“Eh, they’ll update it, just watch.”)
Tumblr media
(FYI, I wish Trace Martez and Tech had more scenes together. They would have been a cute nerdy couple)
Bracca: Planet Dump. Seriously, there’s a planet devoted to garbage. Is it New Jersey? It’s just creepy people floating around trash? Man, it’s like Thor Ragnorok, but sad. Think Valkyrie would show up at some point? Julio had a headache here and strangled someone, I get it, migraines ain’t fun.
Tumblr media
Ord Mantell: Great Value Cyberpunk. Do humans even live here? Well, Houma BBQ bitch and her ugly clutch of mutant boyfriends do. Her bar totally looks like someone practices eye surgery in the back like in Minority Report.
Tumblr media
Raxus: Space Country Club. Oh, this place nice and clean. I mean, dang, it looks like a gated community where everyone plays golf and is mean to their neighbors. I bet they have an amazing Christmas lights display but don’t allow ‘riff-raff’ to come in and bully anyone who doesn’t join their HOA. My sister’s in one outside of Miami, and it turned her into a bitch, trust me.
Tumblr media
Daro: Not-Quite-Fort-Bliss. I don’t get this place. It’s where Manny’s hanging out with other army guys but they don’t like him, even though he’s a good soldier? What the hell, the Empire is run by mid-level corporate dumbasses who think their online MBA makes them a god.
::proceeds to go on a rant about MBA Rob, his nephew, and the clowns like them::
Tumblr media
Safa Toma: Tank Girl’s Home. It’s like Tatooine but fun and crazy. It’s where the Rhino that Sells Used Buicks and his pet iguana live and force people to race in used car parts.**.
Tumblr media
Pabu: Space Daytona. It’s nice, it’s pretty, but I kept thinking the Empire was going to nuke it at some point. Hey, Church Lady says it’s her home away from home…where’s her other home? New Orleans? Shit, that’s a thought.
Tumblr media
Eriadu: Space New Hampshire. It’s foggy, got mountains, and filled with angry old white people who can’t seem to retire. You know Tarkin totally screams at waiters and lives to make the poor check out girls at Publix cry. Just like his bitchy daughter, Stepsister Beth.
(Doug now headcanons that Tarkin is Emerie’s dad…which makes zero sense, but whatever.)
Tumblr media
Ryloth: Space Arizona. Everything seems rich and nice and the women are vaguely hot, cool canyons and mountains and whatnot. But then dig a little bit and everyone’s rat-in-a-shithouse insane and there’s guns everywhere. I like Hera and her daddy, he’s cool. Like him riding his space motorcycle and flinging that spear at folks, more of him please.
Tumblr media
Weyland: Spooky Lab Land. It’s where Stepsister Beth and Ryan-from-Accounting have family reunions with her asshole dad, his bitch wife Laura, and the gang. They’re into science and not making eye contact with anyone because there’s shit in the lava lamps that might be humans.
Tumblr media
Serrano: Space Coeur d’Alene. It’s got pine trees and mountains, real pretty, but it’s easy to fling trash and bodies everywhere and every other person is Doomsday prepping. You ever been to Idaho? Real pretty, but real off, ya know?
Tumblr media
*= I was struggling to breath after this. What in 'The Witch' was he thinking?!
**= Millegi and his racer. I had to stop texting Doug for a bit at this point, I was cry-laughing so hard I couldn’t see.

Did the Kaminoins have older clones monitoring/babysitting younger clones or did they just have a sea of nanny droids or something.
Did they encourage quick bonding with other clones to practice forming future quick unit cohesion and adaptibility necessary for soldoers, or did they discourage it so they wouldnt damage unit effectiveness by mourning brothers when they died?

I think there’s something to say at this moment. When Palpatine’s platform finally rises, the holographic evidence of the attack on Tipoca City disappears. It’s as if the evidence no longer matters and disappears. Whatever the senators have left to say is dismissed. No piece of evidence is above the emperor’s word and that has been made clear.

Morning Commander @leavefoxalone!
Here’s a holo of Bongo to brighten up your day: I’ve learned that he finds the rain on Kamino soothing (not too different from a few of our vode).
Hope you’re doing great sir!

My favorite bit of Legends Kaminoan lore is they see the infrared spectrum, and to them Tipoca city is just full of color.
To species that can’t see in that range it’s cold, clinical, unwelcoming.
To the Kaminoans it’s home.

In one of the GG stewjon posts you said that the kaminoans do not know to look for the signs of sparkness in the clones, “and then a training room is exploding”.
The fact that you said “is exploding” instead of “explodes” has me now imagining that whatever sparky thing happened, it produced a constant (contained) explosion. The explosion didn’t just happen in a moment, rather it just… Comtinues To Happen(tm) for several days. Possibly Nala Se just said “scrap the building” and the explosion is still ongoing.

How the fuck did Kamino even WORK logistically
Like how many nanny droids did they have to have
Because at some point they had over a hundred thousand developmentally four-year old clone children and "millions more" even younger and on the way and what was that even like just on the diaper and potty training level.
Yeah they were genetically engineered and being conditioned to be soldiers but a three year old is a three year old is a three year old my dude. Attention spans are finite. Toddler sleep regression knows no god. What did they do with them when they were too young to strap into learning headsets and flash training?
I just want to know about the immovable object of brilliant scientific cloning meeting the unstoppable force of the human developmental process.
